Jennifer: I'm sorry. I know I promised you that this lawsuit would not affect you and Paige, but eve and I are going to court. And it is going to get ugly.

JJ: Mom, isn't there just some way you could make things work with Mrs. Larson?

Abigail: What's going on now?

Jennifer: Uh, nothing for you to worry about.

Abigail: Well, if it's about eve, then yeah, I am worried, because you know I just made whatever it is a whole lot worse.

Jennifer: Honey, you are not responsible for this situation. Please.

JJ: What's up? Where have you been?

Jennifer: Yeah, that person that you needed to talk to, how did that go?

Abigail: Uh, I'm not sure.

Jordan: Did you hear anything from Clyde since then?

Ben: No. Just a text about today's meeting.

Jordan: Me too.

Ben: Did you tell Rafe about him?

Jordan: Not yet. He's busy with the DiMera case, but I'm glad. I don't want to drag Rafe into this until we know what Clyde's up to.

Ben: Guess we'll find out today.

Kate: Mr. Weston.

Clyde: Come on now, I told you it was Clyde.

Kate: Yes, you did. You did. So, to what do I owe this pleasure? Have you met with your children?

Clyde: I did indeed. Hard to know who's happier, me or those kids.

Kate: [Sighs] That's wonderful.

Clyde: I owe it all to you.

Kate: Well, I was glad to help. So, anyway... now, if you'll excuse me.

Clyde: Oh, hold on a second. There's one more thing I wanted to ask you about. Or a person, actually. Rafe Hernandez.

Johnny: Rafe!

Rafe: Well, hey buddy. Hey. [Chuckles] Wow. Hey. How are you doing? What's going on?

Caroline: Is that all you have? Anger?

Sami: How else am I supposed to feel? I mean the bastard was--

Caroline: That bastard is the man that you loved. And deep down, he may still be the man you love.

Sami: Are you serious? Grandma, who's side are you on?

Caroline: Yours!

Sami: He's a worm, grandma. I hate him. He is dead to me. No, he--he's worse than a worm. He's nothing.

Caroline: Sami, you've gotta tell yourself the truth about this.

Sami: The truth is that I wish he were dead. I wish he would just crawl into a hole...

Caroline: Sami--

Sami: And die except for that he can't, 'cause he has to suffer first, and I hope he suffers for the rest of his miserable life.

Caroline: Because--because-- because you love him.

Sami: No, I hate him! I hate him, grandma. I'm sorry, but that's how I feel. I hate him.

Caroline: Because he hurt you so much. He could only hurt you that much if you loved him with everything in you.

Sami: No, no! Okay? [Sobbing] [Moans]

Caroline: Oh. All right. I know, honey.

Sami: [Sobbing] He ripped my heart out of my body.

Caroline: I know. I know, I know, sweetheart.

Sami: [Cries] I hate him. I hate him. But I love him. Why can't I stop loving him? Why--why can't I stop?

Kayla: You look so tired. Is it this case or all that preparation for the gala?

Hope: It's been hectic all around.

Kayla: Well, the preparation was worth it, because it was gorgeous. Did you have a chance to enjoy yourself?

[Romantic music]

Hope: I was rushing around the whole night. It's all a blur to me.

Kayla: Yeah. Hey, look who's here. Your partner in crime.

Rafe: Ahh! Look at ya! Wow. Getting so big. It's been a while since I've seen you, bud.

Johnny: I'm going to camp all day. It's like school with canoes.

Rafe: Wow. Well, I guess that's better than school with homework, isn't it?

Johnny: [Laughs] Yeah.

Rafe: [Growls]

EJ: Johnny, come on. Why don't you finish your yogurt, and then we can get out of here, okay? Sit down. Well...

Rafe: Well.

EJ: I'm sure you heard everything by now, so... I give you one free shot. Go ahead. You let me have it.

Sami: And I thought he was gonna love me...forever. I mean, what else could go wrong, right? We'd already put each other through every hell imaginable. And of all the things that I thought could happen... I just never, I just never, ever suspected that, that he would... and when I got that picture, and I just saw that they show him and--and Abby... it just felt like a bomb had gone off, you know. And I felt like I couldn't hear anything outside of myself. All I could hear was my heart pounding and breaking.

Caroline: Well, that's what you need to feel, dear, if you want to get past this--

Sami: If I want to die. No! No, grandma, no way, no. So I--I looked at that picture, and I made myself look at it again, and I just kept looking at it until it stopped hurting. Until my heart stopped pounding. Until it... until my heart stopped. Until I had a plan. This is the first time I've cried since the whole nightmare started.

Caroline: That's because you bottled it up.

Sami: Grandma... I was surviving. That's what I do, right? I survive. I pasted this happy bride smile on my face. The minute I found out the truth, it was just like everything became clear to me. I would look at EJ looking at me. I could see how relieved he was that he had gotten away with it. And he would touch me, and I would swallow and force myself to pretend like I believed he still loved me. He would kiss me, and all I could see were his lips on Abby's. I just wanted to scream every time he was near me.

Caroline: Well, that's what you should have done. You had every right, Sami. You should have screamed. Kick him out, kick him out! But not this!

Sami: I will not let him go until I have made him pay. I won't do it. I am going to break him. I am going to destroy him the same way that he... I want him broke as...me. We had finally, finally gotten it right. We finally were a family, and he broke us. He broke us, grandma.

Caroline: Oh, sweetheart. Tortured, traumatized...

Kayla: Even the food was great. I mean, you know those kind of things. All you can hope for is edible. You guys picked the best caterer.

Aiden: Well, that was all hope.

Kayla: Well, you make a great team.

Hope: Uh, I need to get to the station, so if you'll excuse me-- Aiden: You, uh, you got a minute? I need to talk to you.

Hope: Oh.

Aiden: It's about the gala. Just paperwork.

Kayla: No, no. I--listen, I'll give you guys your privacy.

Aiden: No, no, no, it's--

Hope: Wait, no need to go.

Aiden: No need, no, stay.

JJ: So tell us.

Abigail: There is nothing to tell. And please, can we not take my temperature every five minutes, guys? Mom, you're in the middle of a lawsuit, and obviously something just got worse.

Jennifer: I--yeah, I met with eve this morning, and it is clear that we are not going to be able to settle anything.

Abigail: Why? What happened? What--what did she do now?

Jennifer: Oh, nothing. She just went back to her old playbook. She was hitting on Daniel just to get to me.

JJ: Wait. Hitting on? Are--are you sure?

Jennifer: Yes, I am sure, honey. Sorry, but this is her M.O.

JJ: My God, that's just--that's--that's wrong.

Abigail: So, what did Daniel do?

Jennifer: Oh, honey, he has no idea what's going on.

Abigail: Oh, God. This is--I'm sorry, but this is just so out of bounds. And eve is not getting a dime of dad's money. Mom, you have to stop her.

Kate: Rafe Hernandez is dating Jordan.

Clyde: Before that, he dated you.

Kate: [Laughs] Well, how did you know that?

Clyde: Research. Same as you did on me.

Kate: But you see, Jordan gave me a reason to wonder.

Clyde: So did a woman showing up out of nowhere from Salem. We're not so different, you and I. We both look out for our own.

Kate: Yeah. You know, I'm not exactly sure what you're implying.

Clyde: Oh, I'm not implying anything. But I get the feeling that you and I are on the same page as far as this Rafe fella goes. He doesn't belong with my little girl.

Rafe: Yeah, I heard about your affair. Shocking. But it's none of my business.

EJ: When did that ever stop you? Come on, detective. There's righteous moral indignation to be spouted here. You disappoint me.

Rafe: Well, don't get me wrong. I'm glad Sami kicked you to the curb.

EJ: Oh, you're mistaken. We share the same curb.

Rafe: Really? Huh. Well, you're gonna wish you were in Statesville if you try and share the same house with Sami now.

EJ: I'm not going anywhere. Remember that, detective. I'm staying here in town with Samantha and my family. I will never leave them.

Caroline: That's okay. It's okay.

Sami: No, no, no! What am I doing now? No, grandma, stop it, okay? I am not--I am not weak.

Caroline: No, well, pain isn't weakness, you know?

Sami: Being a cliché, a joke, is weak, and he made the trusting little woman.

Caroline: I'm--I'm sure EJ never meant to do this.

Sami: He had his little Twinkie naked in a shower two feet away from me. I'm sorry to be graphic about this, grandma but I was there talking to him about business. And, yeah... I talked to him about our problems. But it was us, you know. We're a couple, and we were working through things. And--and we loved each other, and the whole time, she was just there. She--she was dripping with water--naked in the shower.

Caroline: I'm--

Sami: And--and that's when I decided, you know, when I found out, I just decided, she was my friend, and I was going to bond with her, and I was going to tell her about how much EJ and I love each other, and the whole time we were talking, I'm sure she was imagining my fiancé naked with her. I'm sure the two of them were just laughing their heads off the whole time.

Caroline: Oh, no. Sami, I'm sure... EJ never laughed about it.

Sami: They made a fool out of me!

Caroline: They embarrassed themselves. That's what happened. And I--I swear EJ knew that the minute it happened. He messed up royally, and he knew it, and he knows it to this minute now.

Sami: Why? Why do you feel bad for EJ?

Caroline: Be--[Sighs] Because I was EJ. I cheated on grandpa Shawn with Victor. In one stupid moment, I risked everything that made my life worth living.

Sami: But grandpa stayed. You two never split up.

Caroline: No, we didn't. And I thank God for it, because if I had ruined what grandpa Shawn and I were building, I mean the happy hours that we had together--

Sami: Oh, my God, grandma. Are you suggesting that I should take EJ back? That I should give him another chance?

[Scoffs]

Aiden: I don't want to drive you away. It's your hospital. This will just take a second.

Hope: And actually I still have some questions I need to ask you about john. I need to take notes, actually.

Kayla: Sure, go ahead.

[Phone rings]

Kayla: Oh, wait, that's my phone. Ah, gotta take this call. Okay.

Aiden: Okay. So I, uh, closing the books for father Louis. I believe you still have some receipts.

Hope: Oh, yeah, I do actually. Oh, oh.

Aiden: Oh, let me--let me.

Kate: So, you think Rafe might be bad for Jordan?

Clyde: I know I sound like an overprotective daddy, but... you got kids, Kate. You know how it is. It's been so long since I had a chance to see Tammy sue or her brother that... I just don't want anyone getting in the way of that. I thought maybe you could help.

Kate: Well, actually, I mean I don't know what I could do.

Clyde: I don't know, Kate. Smart lady like you, I bet if you thought real hard, you could come up with something. I mean, you've already been such a great help to me. Thanks to you, now I know exactly where my children are. And I'm sure my daughter, when she found out, would be... just as grateful as I am.

Kate: I don't want any credit for that, so...

Clyde: No, I don't want to put you on the spot. So I'm sure that you and I can work something out. I'll be in touch.

[Model helicopter buzzing]

EJ: Listen, I'm sorry I was so busy over the last few days.

Johnny: Mom said you had to work.

EJ: That's right. Did she say anything else?

Johnny: Eat my broccoli.

EJ: Well, it's the painful path to dessert, I'm afraid. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, no!

[Model crashes]

Johnny: Blammo!

EJ: Go and get it. We can fix it. Do you need some tools?

Johnny: No, it's easy. I can do it.

EJ: All right.

Caroline: I am not saying you should take EJ back. I can't say that. But I am saying if you hang on to this hate, it's going to eat you alive.

Sami: EJ deserves to pay.

Caroline: But you don't. And if you hang on to this revenge, you're the one paying. Now, whatever you do about EJ, set yourself free.

Sami: To what? To go where? I mean, I can't--I can't see past what he did. I can't see past him. I--

Caroline: Sure you can. You've got a family to take care of. You can do this, Sami. You've been through worse. You can do this.

Sami: [Sniffs] I love you, grandma.

Caroline: I love you too. Now, I gotta go. You bring the kids by the pub for dinner, huh, soon? On me.

Sami: [Chuckles] Okay. Thank you.

Caroline: All right, dear.

Sami: [Sniffles] Fact.

Aiden: Here.

Hope: Thanks.

Aiden: Yeah, yeah.

Hope: I have them right here.

Aiden: Here, why don't you let me sort through them?

Hope: No, no, I got it. I can do it. I'm more than capable, thank you, just give me a second.

Aiden: How do you find anything in here?

Hope: I'm a detective. You'd be surprised at what I can find. Just give me a second to--

Aiden: Here.

Hope: You know what? Here. Just knock yourself out, okay? Oh, one more. Sorry about the mess.

Aiden: Thank you.

Kayla: Are you two having a fight or something?

Hope: No--uh, always. [Chuckles] No, we're fine. We're fine.

Kayla: Hmm, that's weird. You sure something didn't happen?

Hope: No, I said we're fine. Thanks, bye.

Rafe: Hi.

Kate: Hey.

Rafe: Thanks for meeting me.

Kate: Sure. Actually I was here when you texted me, so.... what's up?

Rafe: Good. Um, well, you know how Jordan has refused to tell me anything about her past?

Kate: Yeah, I remember.

Rafe: Yeah, well, she's going to tell me.

Kate: That's great news.

Rafe: Yeah, yeah, it is. Except for the fact that I feel like I need to be as straight with her as she is being with me.

Kate: About?

Rafe: Us. You know, I need to tell her that we slept together.

Clyde: Will somebody take a photo? This just warms my heart.

Jordan: What do you want, Clyde?

Clyde: Not exactly how I saw it that we should be outside somewhere in nature, you know. It's hard to stay angry when you're surrounded by pretty flowers.

Ben: I'm working.

Clyde: Well, I guess it's just you and me, sis.

Ben: No way. No.

Jordan: It's all right. The park?

Ben: Are you nuts? You can't go with this guy.

Clyde: I resent that tone, son.

Jordan: It's all right. It's a public place. Lots of people around.

Clyde: Your sister's right. We'll just take a little walk. You can join us later.

Jordan: I'll be back.

Sami: Allie! Sweetheart, hi. How was camp?

Allie: Great. We made art projects.

Sami: Really? Well, let me see. Where's Johnny?

Allie: Oh, EJ got him early.

Sami: Did he say where they were going?

Allie: To the square, to get yogurt. They asked me to go too.

Sami: Oh. [Chuckles] And you didn't want to?

Allie: No. I wanted to finish this.

Sami: Where did you get this picture?

Allie: I took it at the wedding with my phone. I have a bunch of them. I uploaded and printed them. Surprise!

Sami: Huh. Wow. Sweetie, it's--it's-- it's beautiful. "My favorite day." Was it really?

Allie: Yeah. Now, we're an official family.

Sami: [Exhales]

Jennifer: Hi, Johnny.

Johnny: Hi, Jennifer.

EJ: Just please let me say one thing. I never intended to hurt Abigail.

Jennifer: What were your intentions? When you cheated on Sami, and got involved with your little brother's ex-girlfriend? What were you thinking?

EJ: I was just... doing something impulsive that I regretted immediately.

Sami: Then repeated it several times. Come on, EJ, you knew exactly what you were doing. You were having trouble with Sami, and you knew that my daughter would feel vulnerable after everything that happened with Chad. So you seduced her, because you knew it would be easy. And you didn't even give a damn about her in the end. As long as you were satisfied. You are a disgusting pig.

Kayla: Hey, hey, wait up. Look, did I say something wrong? Because I would never want to hurt your feelings.

Hope: No, Kay, no, it wasn't you, it's not you.

Kayla: Well, is there something wrong with Aiden?

Hope: No, there isn't.

Kayla: I mean I know how much he gets on your nerves--

Hope: He doesn't get-- [Sighs]

JJ: Mr. Jennings. Hey, my mom isn't here right now.

Aiden: Actually, I'm here for you. The status report on your community service is due.

JJ: Right. Come on in. I just have my log hours right over here.

Aiden: Great. Whoa, someone's been busy.

JJ: Yeah, I just want to get my hours done before college starts if I can, so.

Aiden: Oh, yeah? Doesn't have anything to do with a certain girl you're working with?

JJ: Maybe. Just things are a little shaky right now, so...

Aiden: Yeah, why? What's up?

JJ: [Sighs] Would you mind if I asked you about my mom's lawsuit against Mrs. Larson?

Ben: Hey.

Abigail: Sorry, I thought that sonny was working today.

Ben: No, no, he has the afternoon off.

Abigail: Okay, well, if there's someone else that can help me--

Ben: Wait. Why do you think I wouldn't want to see you?

Abigail: Because, the way you rushed out of here yesterday, I thought you pretty disgusted with me.

Ben: What? Abigail, no, no. That was--that was something else. I had an emergency. And I told you, this whole thing with EJ, it is what it is. I do not judge.

Abigail: So you don't hate me?

Ben: No. Doesn't change how I feel about you at all.

Abigail: [Chuckles]

Sami: Hmm. Oh, what's that?

Allie: Paper crane number 149. EJ's helping me get to 1,000. Because that means good luck.

Sami: EJ makes paper cranes? When did you two start this project?

Allie: The night after cousin nick died in the square. We spent like, hours on it.

Sami: Wow. Huh, that's--

Allie: Here.

Sami: Well, um, uh, how long does he say it's going to take to do something like that?

Abigail: EJ says it doesn't matter. We have forever. Here, it's your wedding present.

Sami: Thank you. Thank you, sweetheart. I love it. And I love you. And now we have discovered that you don't like blueberry scones. So, maybe you could go to the kitchen and ask Mary for a snack, okay?

Allie: Okay.

EJ: Jennifer, I do care about Abigail.

Jennifer: What?

EJ: As--as--as a person. Look, I--I know that I should not have done--

Jennifer: Just sell it walking, you creep, 'cause I'm not buying it. Do you remember when I--I came to see you? I came to the mansion to talk to you about what you and Chad had done. And you thought that I was talking about you and Abigail. You reeked of guilt then. You knew then that it was wrong. That it was not an accident. You are a rotten man. And I'm just so grateful that my daughter sees that. I just wish that she hadn't had to find out the hard way.

EJ: I wish that too.

Jennifer: [Chuckles] Really? Well, that means nothing to me. Nothing. And Sami was out of line the way she went after my daughter. But I would buy a ticket to watch what she'll do to you.
