Episode #12364 ~ Jennifer has an unexpected encounter with Eve; Rafe pushes Jordan to reveal her secrets.
Provided By Suzanne
Rafe: Well, isn't there someone that you can reach out to at Statesville? Yes. Thank you, man. Yeah, I owe you. Hey.
Jordan: Do you have a second? Please.
Abigail: Okay. Yeah, yeah I am so amazing, and considerate, and boy, do I have a knack for this. If you only knew.
EJ: Abigail. Whoa! What are you doing?
Abigail: I--I don't know. Good question. God, I feel like such a complete and total hypocrite. I can't-- I can't be here.
EJ: Abigail, would you just wait.
Will: Whoa. Hey, you okay?
Abigail: I'm fine.
Will: You don't look fine. You look kind of--
Abigail: Believe me, nothing about how it looks is ever real.
Will: What--what do you mean? Are you--
Abigail: Nothing, I just--
Will: Abigail, don't go.
Sonny: What's up with that?
Will: Are you all right?
Abigail: No. Ugh! I can't find my keys!
Will: You can't drive like this. What has got you so stressed out?
Abigail: Sami. Sami. God, I can't do this. I can't be her maid of honor. [Sighs]
Kate: Ugh, great.
Sami: What?
Kate: Well, look at you. I mean, there's no way that EJ and Abigail aren't going to know that you're up to something just by looking at you.
Sami: They don't, okay? They're clueless.
Kate: Really? How can you be so sure?
Sami: Well, Abigail's at my house right now planning my wedding.
Kate: Ugh, oh, God. I can't believe you roped her into that.
Sami: We're bonding. We're pals.
Kate: Really? 'Cause y don't do pals, you don't do bonding.
Sami: Yeah, well, luckily she doesn't know that.
Kate: [Laughs]
Sami: I asked her to be my maid of honor.
Kate: [Laughs] Oh, my God. Oh, my God. You are so much smarter than you were years ago.
Sami: That is really condescending.
Kate: Why? I mean, it's absolutely true. I mean, if you--years ago, if you had caught EJ fooling around with some--
Sami: Okay. Alright.
Kate: Yeah, well you would've smacked him into next week, or you would've shot him.
Sami: Well--
Kate: And then you would've taken the kids and you would've run away.
Sami: This time, he's not getting off that easy.
Kate: Amen. It's going to work out perfectly. For both of us.
Sami: You're welcome.
Jennifer: And Paige said I remind her so much of her mom. So, maybe, you know... what, you don't think it's true?
JJ: Uh--you know, um, I-- I didn't get that at all.
Jennifer: What did you get from that woman?
JJ: Not much.
Jennifer: Did you get her name?
Eve: Oh, please. Would you call me eve?
JJ: Uh, yeah I did.
Eve: I'm sorry, did you say JJ's last name was Deveraux?
Paige: Yeah.
Eve: Jack and Jennifer Devereaux's son?
Paige: Wait, you know JJ's mom?
Jennifer: Hello? What is it, what is Paige's mother's name?
JJ: Um...
[Phone ringing]
Jennifer: Oh, shoot. Sorry, honey. Hold on one second. I can't believe this is work this late.
Eve: Oh.
Jennifer: Hey, it's gonna be okay.
JJ: What will?
Jennifer: Your girlfriend's mother is supposed to freak you out a little bit.
Paige: [Laughs] Mom, this is too weird.
Eve: Yeah, isn't it?
Paige: You're sure it's the same people you knew?
Eve: Jennifer Horton, right? Jack Deveraux. It's not like anybody else has those same names.
Paige: Did you know them when you lived here before?
Eve: Uh, yeah. I knew them both. In fact, Jennifer and I went to high school together.
Paige: This is crazy. Were you and Mrs. Deveraux friends?
Eve: Um...
Sami: Oh, so how are things going with Stefano? Does he know that Victor fired you?
Kate: Well, of course he does.
Sami: But you didn't tell him yourself, right?
Kate: Oh, my God, a little respect, please? I know how to work this.
Sami: Okay, fair enough. Except for, we should all remember that you didn't think u needed to get fired at all. You were counting on your charm to rope Stefano in.
Kate: Really? Because I still don't think it was necessary.
Sami: [Scoffs]
Kate: Okay, whatever. It probably was the best way to prove my loyalty to him by passing you mad world trade secrets, all right?
Sami: Do not underestimate Stefano DiMera, okay? He is not the pushover you think he is.
Kate: [Laughs] He's in love with me.
Sami: Ha. Remember you have to hold out, all right? I mean-- we don't even want him in town right now, okay? We don't want him so hot to play house with you that he comes back before we're ready for him.
Kate: Okay, believe me, I told him I wouldn't even consider moving into that mansion as long as you were there.
Sami: Oh. Good one.
Kate: [Laughs] He was beside himself. "Oh, Katerina, Samantha is nothing but an insecto, a mosca, don't give it no thought."
Sami: Wait, wait, wait. A what? What was he calling me?
Kate: An insect. [Laughs] A fly, actually.
Sami: Oh, okay. Just one more reason to get him.
Kate: Oh, we will, don't worry. Victor's so angry he's throwing so many roadblocks in front of this deal that Stefano's trying to work out in Milan. He's not going to be back for a long time.
Sami: Just as long as you stay focused. I mean, I'm just saying... I don't want you distracted. This is what we're doing right now, right?
Kate: I understand.
Sami: Okay. I'm just saying. I know you have plans to destroy Jordan...whatever-her-name-is. But that's gonna to have to wait. This comes first.
Jordan: If this is a bad time--
Rafe: No. I'm glad to see you.
Jordan: Good.
Rafe: I've avoided you long enough.
Jordan: I know this thing with Gabi really hit you, and maybe it'll help if you--
Rafe: No, no. We need to talk about us.
Will: Wait. You're my mom's maid of honor? Why?
Abigail: I know, it's strange, isn't it?
Will: How did that even happen?
Abigail: I don't know, how do things always happen with Sami? You're there and she's talking at you and you nod and then suddenly, boom. I'm planning a wedding and I'm her maid of honor. Oh, and in my spare time, I'm also doing a reading. There's just no way that any of this should be me. It's just so wrong.
Will: Maybe not.
Abigail: You don't know.
Will: You're a good person, Abigail. Believe it or not, my mom can tell the difference. Not that she's even been good at the whole friends thing. In fact, I can't remember the last time she actually had a girlfriend.
Abigail: I'm not her girlfriend.
Will: Maybe you could be, couldn't you? My mom likes you. She's told me that more than once.
Abigail: Ugh.
Will: Hey, look, I know it's weird. But, maybe you could consider it an honor.
Abigail: I am so... not worthy.
Will: [Laughs] Nice try. Look, sonny and I will definitely pitch in with the planning
Abigail: No, you don't have to do that. You have a toddler to take care of.
Will: Way lower maintenance than mom.
Abigail: [Laughs]
Will: So, please. Let sonny and me take some of the pressure off, okay?
Abigail: You really don't want me to bail, do you?
Will: Abigail, my mom has had so many near-weddings, and most of the time she hasn't even attempted to have a maid of honor. We will pitch in.
Abigail: No. You know what? It's fine. I shouldn't have even have asked you. It's totally unnecessary. I'll make it work.
Will: Thank you.
Abigail: Yeah.
Will: My mom is sucky. And I think even she knows it.
Abigail: Hm. Listen, I gotta get going. And, I'm sorry for making Sami's big day all about me.
Will: I don't think she'd ever let that happen.
Jennifer: You're afraid of what Mrs. Larson will think?
JJ: Well, I'm not exactly a model boyfriend.
Jennifer: You know what? I'm going to repeat this, you are a great guy.
JJ: [Sighs]
Jennifer: And yeah, you've-- you've made some bad mistakes. But I really believe that you've learned. And if Mrs. Larson has any sense and compassion, she's going to understand that. She just needs to get to know you, and be comfortable with you, and she's going to see you for who you really are.
JJ: I just hope this dinner goes well.
Jennifer: Your sister and I, we are going to make sure it does.
JJ: All right. Where is abs?
Jennifer: Uh, you know, I don't know. She had the day off, but I haven't seen her since this morning.
JJ: Well, she's coming, right?
Jennifer: Yeah, absolutely. Of course! Excuse me, honey.
JJ: Mom?
Jennifer: Yeah.
JJ: Thank you.
Jennifer: For what?
JJ: For this dinner thing, and for making a big deal out of graduation.
Jennifer: You know what? It's a very big deal.
JJ: Well, it's not like you have other things on your mind, you know. I mean--I know you're going through a rough time with Daniel, and--
Jennifer: It's okay. I'm dealing with it. Don't really have a choice, you know?
JJ: Mom, you are so strong, and you are always there for me and abs no matter what. So, thank you.
Jennifer: I love you, baby.
JJ: I love you too.
Jennifer: So much. And you and your sister, you are my first priority. And this graduation is a huge deal, it is a giant milestone. And we are really going to impress your girlfriend's mom. Is that what you're wearing?
JJ: [Laughs]
Paige: [Scoffs] Ground control to mom. Where are you?
Eve: Oh, sweetheart. I--I'm sorry, I just haven't thought about those people in such a long time.
Paige: Were you guys friends?
Eve: Well, there were times when we were friendly, but, sweetheart, we ran in different crowds.
Paige: And what's the story?
Eve: I will tell you later, okay?
Paige: Mom.
Eve: No, I--
Paige: If there's something I should know--
Eve: No, I will fill you in all the details later, okay? Really.
Paige: Okay. But... can you at least tell me... did you know that JJ's father is dead?
Eve: Yes. I did, sweetheart, and it's a terrible tragedy, especially after everything that man went through.
Paige: So you've kept up.
Eve: Well, I got most of the information from your grandparents. And then I read a few things on PalPage. But it's not like we, you know, kept up personally. And I didn't even know that they had a son your age.
Paige: Mom, you're acting a little weird about all this.
Eve: No, I'm not.
Paige: Did you not like the Deverauxs? I mean, if this is going to be a thing then--
Eve: No, I-it's not.
Paige: Maybe you shouldn't come tonight.
Eve: No. Sweetheart... I want to go. My budget used to be a real downer.
EJ: I really don't know. I found her working in the garden earlier, I think she's just a bit overwhelmed.
Sonny: Why's she overwhelmed?
Will: Because mom just made her an instant wedding planner, and her maid of honor.
Sonny: Maid of honor? Seriously?
EJ: Yeah, Samantha is relying on her for a great deal.
Sonny: Okay, but that doesn't make any sense. Abigail's organized, and she's also calm under pressure.
Will: Yeah, I agree. That's what threw me, as well. She was really freaked out.
Sonny: Then it's not about getting stuff done.
Will: No. No, I think there's something else that's upsetting her.
Sonny: Huh. Well, you were with her earlier, right? What did you think?
EJ: Um...
Jennifer: There you are.
Abigail: Sorry I'm late.
Jennifer: No, that's okay. Just grab an apron and um--
Abigail: Wait, no, I'm sorry, mom, but I can't. I have to skip out on dinner, and I'm also gonna need another personal day for tomorrow too.
Jennifer: Oh, no, honey, you're not gonna have to take a whole day off.
JJ: Yeah, the graduation is like a long lunch hour. I won't be offended if you have to leave early.
Abigail: No, it's not-- it's not that. I need the whole day, because I'm-- I'm going to Sami Brady's wedding.
Jennifer: That's tomorrow?
JJ: So, wait. You're blowing off graduation dinner and part of my graduation for Sami Brady. Why?
Abigail: Well, because I-I'm-- I-I'm planning her wedding, sort of.
Jennifer: What? Well, I guess since you're not getting paid, and they're filthy rich, maybe they can hire a wedding planner, honey.
Abigail: Uh, no, no. They can't, mom. They can't because it's not just that they need me to help with the wedding. It's also that I'm-- I'm Sami's maid of honor.
Kate: Okay. Once again, I can handle more than one task at a time.
Sami: Just humor me, okay? Please, hold off on the whole Jordan demolition until we get this done.
Kate: N-n-no, you have it all wrong. I mean, we're pals. We've bonded.
Sami: I'm serious.
Kate: No. I'm serious, too. I am encouraging her to see Rafe. I mean, I know he pushed her away during the whole Gabi thing. But I think I have convinced her to suck it up. To stick to him like glue. See him through the rough patch, you know?
Sami: Dammit, Kate. I don't understand what you're even talking about. Why would you push them to be together-- oh.
Kate: Mm-hmm.
Sami: Oh, I see. So that when the bomb goes off, you are so removed from the situation you're not a suspect.
Kate: That's right. I want them close, so when the sordid details of her undisclosed past comes out, he can push her away for the right reasons. For good.
Jordan: Wow, this looks pretty private. I'm never in the park at night.
Rafe: Well, you shouldn't be, alone.
Jordan: You don't have to worry about me, Rafe. What? Hey, I'm sorry.
Rafe: Do you have any idea what happened to my sister?
Jordan: I think so.
Rafe: Tell me.
Jordan: I think your sister found her way into a jam that she couldn't get out of.
Rafe: No. My sister wouldn't tell me what was going on. And every time I asked her, she would just gloss things over and she would tell me not to worry.
Jordan: What were you supposed to do?
Rafe: Push. And push again, and get in her face, and trust my gut. I knew nick was a creep and dangerous, despite what she said. And if I'd just listened to my gut, and taken care of business, my sister would be out here now, with her child. Not in prison doing 10 to 20 for killing nick.
Eve: Sweetheart... I am going to this dinner tonight, because I want to support you and your boyfriend.
Paige: And you're sure?
Eve: Yes, I'm sure. Listen, it just threw me for a loop there for a minute. Come on, you gotta admit there was quite a coincidence here, right?
Paige: You'll be okay with JJ's mom?
Eve: Yes, I will be fine. In fact, I was going to call Jennifer anyway. She would've been one of the first people I would've called.
Paige: To pay your respects, because of Mr. Devereaux's death.
Eve: Well, that's part of it. But hey, since we're going over there tonight, what better time than the present, right?
Sami: Did you find out something else about Jordan? Something besides the false ids? And now you're being coy with me about it?
Kate: No. No, I'm just focusing on our plan, I thought that's what you wanted.
Sami: Oh, so now you don't trust me.
Kate: Come on, Sami. You fell for Jordan's line.
Sami: I did not. I just--Rafe, he seems so happy, he seems like he really loves her.
Kate: Maybe not.
Sami: You know that even if you succeed in breaking them up he's not coming back to you.
Kate: What do you care about what Rafe thinks anyway, huh?
Sami: Well...
Kate: Oh, great.
Sami: What?
Kate: Really? Now that you're dumping EJ, what are you going to try to get Rafe back?
Jordan: It's hard to look back and not wish that we'd done things differently for Gabi. I know I do.
Rafe: Don't.
Jordan: But I do. She's your sister and if I had reached out--
Rafe: It's not your fault. It's mine. I'm the man of the family, I was supposed to look out after my sisters. I failed both of them... just like I failed...
Jordan: What?
Rafe: Never mind. I just can't go through that with you.
EJ: Okay, look, what exactly did she say to you?
Will: Just that she doesn't feel like she's really mom's friend and that she's not worthy.
EJ: Oh, please. That's nonsense.
Will: I thought so. Anyways, I talked her down. I told her that we would all help out. She agreed to hang in.
EJ: Thank you. I certainly appreciate that.
Will: Anytime.
EJ: Well, how about my wedding day?
Will: Yeah, of course. What can I do?
EJ: I need a best man.
JJ: Get out.
Jennifer: You're Sami's maid of honor?
Abigail: Yeah.
Jennifer: When did you become friends? I knew that you were tutoring her in art--
Abigail: Right, exactly. That's when it started, and then uh--I don't know.
Jennifer: Now you're her maid of honor. What about her sisters?
Abigail: They're not here. And even if they were--
Jennifer: They wouldn't step foot near a DiMera.
JJ: Smart women.
Jennifer: What about Marlena?
Abigail: She's not even coming to the wedding.
Jennifer: There is no one else that can do this?
Abigail: Look, the wedding is in the morning, and Sami promised me that I would be done with more than enough time to make it to your graduation, okay?
JJ: It's fine, whatever.
Abigail: No, not whatever, JJ. I will be there, okay? I promise. Mom, do you have any idea where my ATM card is?
Jennifer: Yeah. It's in the desk, top right drawer. Why?
Abigail: Because, I have to buy a dress for tomorrow.
Jennifer: Are you sure you want to do this?
Abigail: Yeah, of course. Sami'll pay me back, it's no big deal.
Jennifer: No, I mean, are you sure that you want to stand up for Sami?
Abigail: I owe her.
Jennifer: What?
Abigail: Because-- because I told her that I would do it.
[Kitchen timer goes off]
Jennifer: Okay, well--
Abigail: The--the timer went off.
Jennifer: Yeah. Uh, have fun tonight.
Abigail: Okay. Thank you.
Jennifer: Bye. Don't forget to change, okay?
JJ: Abs, don't do this.
Abigail: JJ, I told you--
JJ: No, forget that. For your own sanity, you need to stay as far away from EJ as possible. Especially tomorrow.
Eve: Well, I can't imagine how Jennifer has managed. She lost the man that she loved, the father of her children. How did she seem to you? Did she ever talk about her late husband?
Paige: Not to me. I mean, I just met her.
Eve: Mm-hmm.
Paige: But, she seems okay, I guess. She must be pretty strong.
Eve: Well, she'd have to be, wouldn't she?
Paige: Oh, JJ talks about his dad though. It's still really hard for him. They had some good times in London and then his dad had to go to Afghanistan. Oh, did you know that he wrote a book about it?
Eve: Uh, yeah, I'd hear
Paige: I just started it, and it's hard to put down. It's harrowing.
Eve: Oh.
Paige: Mom, have you read the book?
Whoa-oh, oh, whoa-oh, oh
Jordan: You don't need to go through the same thing with me, Rafe. I don't need you to protect me.
Rafe: Really? But you don't say a word to me about where you came from. You've got a brother in town who you won't even publicly acknowledge, that's not normal. That's the way people act when they're in hiding.
Jordan: I told you, it's just because it's painful, so--
Rafe: Listen, whatever happened with you and Ben, it is not just gonna go away. Tell me.
Jordan: It really is better if you don't know.
Rafe: No, it is not, Jordan. No, I need to know what it is, I can't do this anymore, I won't--
Jordan: You don't know what you're asking.
Rafe: You're right. I don't. Which means I can't help you, and you're just setting me up.
Jordan: What?
Rafe: Yeah, whatever it is comes to town, I'm not going to be able to see it, or know how to stop it.
Jordan: Because you won't be in the line of fire. Just-- please let it go.
Rafe: Have you heard a word that I've said?
Jordan: Okay, I know that it makes you mad, but it really is--
Rafe: Do not say it is better, or I'm going to lose my mind. I'm sure that both of my sisters thought that it was better. One of 'em's in the ground, and one's in prison. Is that better?
Sami: What is wrong with you? I am marrying EJ.
Kate: Yeah, for revenge. You're gonna get what you need and then you're going to dump him, right?
Sami: Yeah. As soon as I get what I need.
Kate: Ugh, Sami.
Sami: What?
Kate: Oh, God. Please, please don't tell me that you are still in love with that creep.
Sami: I don't even know why we're still talking about this.
Kate: You know something? I think it's true. I think you really have delusions of getting Rafe back. But you know something? He will never take you back.
Sami: First of all, if I wanted Rafe back, I could get him back in two-- I know what you're doing, all right? I get it, and you are just infuriating.
Kate: Yeah, really? Well, I think you're worse.
Sami: Well, good thing we're not pals then.
Kate: [Laughs] Nope. That's for sure.
Sami: And this, this whole, like, you know, partnership is like a one-time-only deal, right?
Kate: Right. But if we play our cards right, we are both going to be set up for the rest of our lives.
Sami: We just have to keep our eye on the ball, and we can do this.
Kate: We can do this.
Sami: We're clear about what happens next, right?
Kate: Yes, yes, absolutely. You know, I guess the best thing is for us really not to see each other until after the wedding.
Sami: Yeah. Yeah, agreed.
Kate: Okay. So if nothing else comes up then this is--
Sami: This is it.
Kate: Yeah. So, good luck with those vows. Your wedding vows.
Sami: Oh. [Laughs] Right. Yeah, of course.
Kate: Okay. Oh yeah, oh boy, I would just love to be there to hear you say, "until death do us part."
Will: You want me to stand up with you?
EJ: Please.
Will: Shouldn't you ask Chad? I mean, he's your brother--
EJ: I did. He's not going to be able to make it in time for the wedding. Look, I don't want you to feel that you're some sort of fill-in, William. But um...
Will: Tell the truth, you just want me where you can keep an eye on me. [Laughs]
EJ: I think we've come a long way since that wedding.
Will: So you're not worried about dodging any bullets?
EJ: No. No. I think for the first time, Samantha and me may be able to have a gunfire-free wedding.
Will: [Laughs]
Sonny: So you're not scared, at all. 'Cause will and I, we were nervous before our wedding.
EJ: Um... well, excuse me. If there is one thing I'm a tiny bit nervous of, it's that I won't remember every detail. I want to really make sure that I absorb every moment of tomorrow. Eight years, William. I've been in love with your mother for eight wonderful years. And you know, over that time there have been people who have had their doubts, and maybe some of them still do.
Will: Not me. I'd be honored to be your best man.
EJ: Oh, thank you so much. Your mother is gonna be so happy.
Sonny: I'm due at the club, so I gotta go. [Kisses]
Will: Okay. Call me later.
Sonny: I will. See you at the wedding.
Sonny: Front row with the camera.
EJ: Okay. I'm very fortunate to have you here, William.
Will: Who would have thought? We brought Ari because we thought that my mom would like to spend some time with her. Is she here?
EJ: She ran out to do a couple of errands but I'm sure she'll be back soon.
Abigail: Look, JJ, it's-- it's not black and white.
JJ: Yeah, it is.
Abigail: Nobody wanted me to get hurt.
JJ: But the creep still did. I mean, you shouldn't have to stand there and pretend that it's okay.
Abigail: How did you find out?
JJ: I'm not stupid, or blind. I could see how badly Chad hurt you. And now his brother wants you to just stand there at his wedding?
Abigail: No, uh-- no, Sami asked me, actually, not EJ. And I'm fine about Chad.
JJ: What out that other loser you were seeing after him?
Abigail: Shhh.
JJ: Mom can't hear.
Abigail: Okay, well... that chapter is over. So, you actually want to party at a DiMera wedding.
Abigail: Truth? No. Not at all. But, I can't let Sami down.
JJ: Okay.
Abigail: Listen, JJ, Sami promised me that I will be done in time to make it to your graduation, okay? I will be there.
JJ: Next guy who hurts you answers to me.
Abigail: Thanks. I'm sorry I won't be here to meet Paige's mom.
JJ: It's okay, she'll be around. I gotta go get dressed.
Abigail: Thank you so much for understanding.
JJ: Mm-hmm.
Abigail: Mom.
Jennifer: Abigail.
Abigail: Listen, I really can't fight, okay?
Jennifer: No, we won't. I'm proud of you.
Abigail: What? You made a promise, and you're keeping it. And you are obviously helping someone who's very lonely.
Abigail: Sami.
Jennifer: No, yes. I mean, imagine being a grown woman in her shoes and the only person that she can find to stand up for her at her wedding is a young woman that she barely knows?
Abigail: I don't think it's quite like that.
Jennifer: Honey, yes it is. You have such a good heart. I mean, this is such a selfless, and sweet thing--
Abigail: Stop, stop. Really, mom, just stop. Okay? Stop. I am anything but.
Eve: Yes, I have seen the book.
Paige: [Scoffs] This is amazing. Not only do you know JJ's parents, but you know about his dad's book too? I have to text JJ.
Eve: Oh, no, no, sweetheart, don't.
Paige: I don't want him to be shocked.
Eve: N-no really. There is so much history that I need to fill you in on. And I will, I promise, at a later time. But I can tell you this, that I-- I know it probably wasn't clear before, but I'm telling you now. I did know Jack and Jen quite well. Jack was a charming man. Very witty, and there is no doubt that he was a good father. But, Jack could also be a sort of a character. Found ways to cut corners, get into trouble. That's why after everything you've told me about JJ, it's a concern to me.
Paige: [Laughs] What does that mean?
Eve: Oh, come on, sweetheart, it--you know, just--with the connection. I'm just not hot on the idea of you and JJ, sweetheart.
Paige: You promised you'd give JJ a chance.
Eve: Well--
Paige: Mom, JJ's not his dad. Y-you can't make him responsible for all the things that happened before we were even born. Celebrate big savings at the sears July 4th event.
Jordan: This really isn't the same as your sisters.
Rafe: No, it's worse. You know, when you walk into a room, you scan every face in it. And then you look for the exits, and even when you're outside you're looking 20 yards ahead like a soldier in the field.
Jordan: I don't.
Rafe: God, you don't-- it's like second nature to you, you don't even notice it. I see you do it. I see you, I watch your face when you don't know it. You're watching--you're waiting, expecting--
Jordan: What?
Rafe: I don't know what. That's what I need you to tell me so that I can keep you safe. I am not gonna go down this road. I am not gonna be responsible for messing up your life because you wouldn't tell me.
Jordan: Oh, my God, Rafe. Are you-- that's not-- you are not messing up my life. You're the best thing that has ever happened to me. This is the first time that I could finally be myself. This is the first time that I've ever felt whole. Loved. [Cries]
Rafe: Jordan. Okay. Listen to me. Listen, hey. Then just tell me. Tell me what it is that you're holding back, just tell me right now. Jordan, tell me.
Jennifer: Granted, you had some hard decisions to make, honey. But you're not blowing off JJ's dinner for nothing. You're not being selfish.
Abigail: Still, I--I won't be here. I better get to the square before the dress shop closes. What's with the yearbook?
Jennifer: You know, just my high school yearbook full of awkward photos.
Abigail: Uh-huh. You wouldn't be trying to, I don't know, impress Paige's mom, would you?
Jennifer: Oh yeah, I'm gonna impress her with all of my exploits.
[Both laugh]
Jennifer: No, don't worry. No--no trips down memory lane for the guests.
Abigail: Have fun tonight, mom.
Jennifer: Thank you, baby. I love you.
Abigail: Thank you.
Jennifer: Bye.
Eve: When you are right, you are right. I can't hang JJ with his father's crimes.
Paige: Crimes?
Eve: It's a figure of speech, sweetheart.
Paige: Maybe you should fill me in.
Eve: No, later, all right? Right now, what is important is that we need to celebrate your graduation with your friends, right?
Paige: We should leave soon, or we'll be late.
Eve: Oh, right.
Paige: Uh, if you still want to go.
Eve: Of course I do. Let's get dressed up, and let's do this right, okay?
Paige: Are you sure I shouldn't text JJ?
Eve: No. I think this is best if it's a surprise.
EJ: Follow me. Now.
Rafe: Just tell me. You know, it only gets worse when you hold it in. You think it's so huge that you can't get out from under it, or even face it. But that's not true. Jordan... you and me, we can stare it down together. But only if you tell me.
Jordan: Ugh. I can't.
Rafe: Then neither can I.
Sami: I wanna get to you and the baby. Thank you so much for waiting.
Will: [Laughs]
Sami: EJ texted me, said that he had to leave, and I'm just so glad you stayed. Hi, cute little button. Hi, pretty girl. Is Abigail around?
Will: Uh, no, she's not.
Sami: She's supposed to be.
Will: Mom, listen. You really need to ease up on her.
Sami: What? Why would you say that?
Will: Well, when sonny and I got here she was snapping, she was ready to bolt.
Sami: Aww. Poor thing, really?
Will: Planning a wedding and making her maid of honor, you put a lot on her.
Sami: Don't worry about it, Will. [Gasps] It will all be over soon. Won't it? Yeah.
Abigail: What do you want, EJ?
EJ: What happened at the house earlier can never happen again, do you understand me?
JJ: So, where's your mom?
Paige: Out parking the car, so we only have a minute.
JJ: Okay.
Paige: There's something you should know. It's kinda--
Jennifer: Oh, hi, honey. Oh!
Paige: That's my mom.
Jennifer: That's your mom. I'll get it. Eve?
Eve: Jen. Long time no see.
