John: Because I'm not gonna stand on the sidelines and watch this happen to you.

Brady: I didn't ask you to watch anything. Did you ask him to watch anything?

Theresa: Mm, no. I didn't--

Brady: So I don't know what's going on. Tell you what--why don't you move? Why don't you move somewhere else, or I'll move you. He's not moving. Okay.

John: Brady, stop it. Will you just knock it off? Aah! Brady, damn it, kid! Come on, man, knock it off!

Theresa: Brady! Mr. Black! Come on, stop it! Guys, guys, guys.

Hope: Brady!

Brady: Come on, dad!

Paige: I accidentally saw a medical test belonging to Bev... for STDs.

JJ: What?

Paige: She told me over and over that it didn't have anything to do with you.

JJ: Why would she say that?

Paige: The truth? I think she was playing with my head. I think it was all a big game for her.

Bev: JJ, hi.

JJ: Hi. You and I are gonna get a couple of things straight right now.

Abigail: Paige, hi.

Paige: Hi. I didn't see JJ after I got out of my exam, and I was wondering, is he here?

Abigail: No. He's not here. I don't know where he is, and I don't really care, to be honest.

Paige: I'm sorry to bother you.

Abigail: No, uh, um... it's me. I'm sorry. I had no right to talk to you like that.

Paige: You okay?

Abigail: Yeah, I'm-- yeah, I'm, uh... no, I'm not. I'm definitely not okay. [Whimpers]

Jordan: Ben, you're my brother. I know you own a gun and that you were furious about the way that nick treated Abigail. And I also know how you get when you feel like a man is mistreating a woman.

Ben: My God, Jordan. You don't think I'm any better than him, do you?

Sonny: This is all my fault.

Will: Sonny--

Sonny: If it weren't for me, Gabi never would've done this.

Will: Listen to me. Gabi shot nick for a whole lot of reasons, none of which had anything to do with you.

Gabi: Look... look at what I've done to the people I care about the most-- my baby, you.

Rafe: No, no. I'm the one who let you down.

Gabi: No. No, you're the best brother.

Rafe: No, I... I did not do all that I could. I let him drive you to shoot him. A good brother would have never let that happen.

Bev: Are you mad about something?

JJ: You made a big deal out of telling Paige that I'm not the one who gave you whatever you thought you had.

Bev: I'm in trouble for saying it wasn't you?

JJ: Yeah, because I know how you said it.

Bev: Paige saw the paper I got from the clinic. She started putting two and two together without any help from me. I was trying to stop her from thinking what she was already thinking, and--you know, I cannot believe you are coming down on me.

Abigail: I'm sorry. I shouldn't have lost it on you like that, Paige.

Paige: I know about your cousin nick. Do you want to talk?

Abigail: There's just a lot of other stuff going on, and on top of everything else, I'm not really feeling well.

Paige: Why aren't you feeling well? Are you down with a cold or something?

Abigail: No, I just have cramps, and I'm bloated, and it's really bugging me.

Paige: Have you taken anything?

Abigail: Well, normally I take Midol complete. It works really well for me, but I'm all out of it.

Paige: Not anymore, you're not.

Abigail: Thank you. Thanks. This will definitely help relieve my cramps and bloating.

Paige: But your other problems?

Abigail: Not so much. I... found out something really awful about nick and his ex-wife, who is also my best friend.

Paige: What did she do?

Abigail: I just feel like I've lost her too.

Brady: I was just telling my dad to butt out, hope, okay? Between Theresa and me. He won't do it.

Hope: And you couldn't just walk away, right?

John: He walks around high half the time. He's taking up with her now. If he was your son, would you walk away?

Hope: You two better find a better way to disagree, or I'll haul you both in.

[Cell phone ringing]

Brady: Oh, who's that? Is that Kristen letting you know she's available, maybe?

John: A contact of mine. He's got some news about Gabi Hernandez.

Brady: Gabi. What's going on with Gabi?

Hope: Well, you're gonna hear about it anyway. You might as well hear it from me. She was arrested for murder.

Gabi: Rafe, none of this is your fault. I let nick back into my life. I let him control me. [Sniffles]

Rafe: I just wish you had come to me, come to me and told me.

Gabi: There were so many reasons I couldn't come to you. I swear, if I could have--

Rafe: Shooting nick? That seemed like a better plan?

Gabi: It wasn't a plan, Rafe.

Rafe: He drove you to it.

Gabi: No. No, I did it, Rafe. I took the gun, and I put three bullets in nick, and I'm not gonna make excuses for myself, and I'm gonna let you make them for me. Okay? This time I have to pay.

Everything your mouth does

Bev: You think I want someone like Paige knowing that I got tested for STDs? You think I want her telling her snotty friends what a slut I am? But I still tried to keep her from thinking something bad about you.

JJ: Okay, I get it.

Bev: I hope so.

JJ: And it didn't mess me up with Paige. It actually made us closer.

Bev: [Chuckles] Well, have fun with her, you know, while she's still around.

JJ: Oh, yeah, I'm going to. This is gonna be the best summer ever.

Sonny: Thanks for trying to let me off the hook, but I'm the one who brought the gun into the apartment.

[Cell phone ringing]

Sonny: I have to call the club.

Will: All right. We were both caught up in a rotten situation with a really sick guy, and we both did things that we wish we hadn't done. So, please... try not to feel guilty, okay?

Sonny: I'll work on it.

Jordan: You are nothing like he is. You never have been, and you never will be.

Ben: I have a temper, and you know it. So what, you thought maybe--

Jordan: I don't know what I thought, okay? I heard about this, and I just--I got scared, okay? I was just remembering what happened, you know, before.

Ben: Like either one of us could ever forget that?

Jordan: Yeah.

Ben: I get it. But we're here in Salem now, and nobody else knows what happened, and now this whole thing with Fallon is over.

Jordan: I don't think it's ever going to be over for Rafe. He just feels so guilty now. He always felt responsible for Gabi.

Ben: Sa way you always felt about me, right?

Jordan: Right.

Gabi: EJ says he'll work it out so that I get sent to a woman's prison that's not far from here.

Rafe: I just don't know why you're trusting EJ. I know criminal lawyers. Why don't you just talk to one of them?

Gabi: I trust EJ.

Rafe: Okay, but how do you know that EJ's not just doing what Sami thinks is best for you?

Gabi: Rafe, I killed nick. No lawyer is going to be able to get me off.

Rafe: Yeah. Yeah, but if you plead guilty, there are no guarantees. EJ damn well knows that.

Gabi: Rafe... it boils down to one thing. As horrible as nick was to me... he didn't want to kill me. I had no right to take his life.

Abigail: Thank you so much. I'm sure I'll feel better when this starts working, and thanks for listening too.

Paige: Anytime you want to talk about it, I'm here.

Abigail: No wonder my brother likes you so much.

Paige: [Laughs]

JJ: Oh, what's going on?

Paige: Abigail can tell you. I promised my mom I'd call her and tell her how my final went. I'll do that out in the kitchen.

JJ: You guys talking about me?

Abigail: No, JJ. Something really bad happened.

JJ: What?

Abigail: You might want to sit down for this.

Hope: I had a feeling will was covering for someone. I figured it had to be either sonny or Gabi. I confronted Gabi first. She broke down, admitted everything.

Brady: Oh, my God.

Hope: Her little girl just celebrated her first birthday. And Rafe, well--

John: Yeah, I can only imagine.

Hope: When you two are thinking about what happened between you, remember something-- no matter how painful it's been, nobody died. I suggest you start dealing with it in a different manner, stop thinking about yourselves, stop being so selfish, and focus on the people who really have problems.

Brady: You've made yourself very clear.

Theresa: Well, I should probably call mom and dad. They'll want to know what's happened with will.

Jordan: Older sisters always feel like they have to take care of their little brothers.

Ben: Until the older sister gets a boyfriend.

[Cell phone ringing]

Ben: Mm. Hey, sonny.

Sonny: Hey, Ben. Did the accountant's office messenger the paychecks?

Ben: Yeah.

Sonny: Well, I can't get over there to sign them today. Would you mind dropping them off when your shift's over?

Ben: Well, Lori's here. We're not that busy. I can come do it right now if you want.

Sonny: Actually that would be great.

Ben: All right, I'll see you soon. I got to take this to sonny. He says he can't get away. Guess now I know why.

Jordan: Hey, Ben, about what you just said--

Ben: Don't worry. And what you told me earlier about Gabi and Rafe-- it won't go any further.

Gabi: Dr. Evans says I'm in my right mind--

Rafe: Dr. Evans? She's Sami's mother, you know? How much did you say to her?

Gabi: You can't keep acting like nothing I do is really my fault.

Rafe: I held you. You know, I held you the day you were born. I know you're not a bad person.

Gabi: [Crying] But I've done some very bad things, and I have to face the consequences. And someday I have to try to explain this to my daughter, and I don't want to have to tell her that you fixed it so that I got away with what I did.

Rafe: Sis-- sis, you--

Gabi: Look, I mean it, Rafe. I will never forget all the things that you've done for me, and I love you so much. But it's time that I stand on my own two feet. You get that, right?

Brady: [Winces] Gabi's brother must be going nuts right now.

Theresa: Who's her brother?

Brady: His name is Rafe.

Theresa: [Whispers] Rafe... Rafe Hernandez?

Brady: Mm-hmm.

Theresa: Didn't he used to be married to Sami?

Brady: Yeah, for a while, we were actually pretty good friends.

Theresa: Oh, you were friends with a cop?

Brady: Ooh, yeah. It was--it was a lifetime ago, seems that way. I should probably go-- I should go see him.

Theresa: Uh, no, you're not really in the best shape.

Brady: What do you mean?

Theresa: You just might want to call him instead.

Brady: Yeah, I guess you're right.

Rafe: So... Dario called. He wants to know why he stopped hearing from you.

Gabi: Could you tell him what happened? I just can't face that right now.

Rafe: Okay. What about Mami?

Gabi: Rafe, I can't. I can't. I'll fall apart. I--

Rafe: Okay, okay, okay. I'll tell her too.

Gabi: I'm sorry to make you do this. I'm sorry about everything.

Rafe: No, come on. Shh, stop. Stop. It's okay. It's not your fault.

[Knocking at door]

Rafe: Come in.

You got another visitor.

Rafe: Will.

Will: Hey.

Gabi: Hi.

Rafe: It's actually good you're here. I got to go make some calls, all right? Unless you want me to stay.

Gabi: Mm-mm, no. Go make those calls. It's the best thing that you can do for me right now. I'll be okay. How's the baby?

Will: When I woke her up from her nap, she started saying, "mama, mama." She wants you.

Gabi: [Sobbing] Oh, will. [Crying]

Sonny: Hey, come on in. This is Arianna.

Ben: I know. We've met.

Sonny: Here you go. Go see Ben.

Ben: Hey. Hey, little one. You look beautiful in that dress. Nice dress.

Sonny: The overtime isn't on these checks. I'm gonna call the accountant real quick. Could you do me a favor and just watch her for a couple minutes?

Ben: Yeah, yeah, yeah, sure.

Sonny: I'll make it really fast.

Ben: No problem at all. You're gonna stay with me for a little while. You remember me, right, little girl? Huh? Just a little bit. What is that? What's that, a flower?

Rafe: What do I want? I want anything that you have on nick Fallon's time spent in prison, and I want it before Gabi's plea. Well, look again, Tim! This is my sister-- my sister that we are talking about here! Okay. Great. Thank you. Thank you. I really appreciate it. My God. Hey. How'd you find me here?

Jordan: Well, I know you always come this way after leaving headquarters.

Rafe: Right.

Jordan: Who were you yelling at?

Rafe: Just an old friend of mine at the bureau who is obviously sick of me asking him for favors. I just want to feel like I'm doing something for Gabi.

Jordan: I can't even begin to imagine how hard this is for you.

Rafe: Yeah. It's just that... when our sister was dying, I promised her that I would take tare of Gabi and, uh... really doing a bang-up job, huh?

Jordan: We can't live their lives for them.

Rafe: Yeah, I know. Just-- ah, you should've seen her when she was a little girl. She was the sweetest, most beautiful... I should've-- I should've--

Jordan: Come here. Come here.

Abigail: Paige came by looking for you, and she could see that I was a wreck. She was really great.

JJ: So what's gonna happen with the baby?

Abigail: Oh, my God, Ari. I didn't even think of that. I guess will and sonny... oh, my God, this is so sad.

JJ: I haven't even seen sonny or will except for in the club. I was too busy making trouble. All right, I'm gonna go to the apartment and tell them that I can babysit or whatever they need. Do you want to come with me?

Abigail: No, there's something I have to do first.

Hope: Julie and Maggie. They need to hear this from me. [Sighs] How am I supposed to get through this without you to talk to? How am I supposed to explain it to Ciara? What do I say to your mom? Where the hell are you, Brady? What could be more important than your family? [Sighs]

Jordan: Rafe, you were in a hospital bed when Gabi was going through the most difficult time in her life, and that couldn't be helped. That's life. You didn't do anything wrong.

Rafe: Right. And making this about me, that's not gonna help Gabi either, is it?

Jordan: She has an awful time ahead of her, but she is not gonna die like her sister did, so there's still a lot that you can do to love and support her. And to me, that's what matters now, I think.

Rafe: You're right. I didn't think anything could make me feel better today, but you just did.

Jordan: Good.

Rafe: Gabi wants me to tell our mother and our brother that we never see.

Jordan: Well, so see? There is something that you can do.

Rafe: Right. Yeah. But how do I do that? How do I... how do I tell our mother that her baby is going to prison?

Gabi: Will, I want you to know something. After I... after I shot nick, I went into this trance. I just felt so relieved that he couldn't hound me anymore. I just felt like everything was gonna be okay, and then sonny told me that you'd confessed, and I snapped out of that.

Will: You don't have to explain.

Gabi: Yes, I do. Before hope showed up to the apartment, I was getting ready to come over here. I was gonna tell the police that I'd done it because I was not gonna allow--

Will: I was covering for sonny. I thought he had done it. And it never entered my mind-- I'm sorry.

Gabi: You remember the day we met?

Will: Sydney was missing, and you came and helped put up fliers. That's just the kind of person you are.

Gabi: Seems like such a long time ago. I wish maybe we had a crystal ball or something, maybe we could've seen what was coming.

Will: We never would have had our beautiful daughter. You're still my best friend.

Gabi: Still?

Will: Nick was a mastermind. He pushed you to the edge--

Gabi: Don't say that, okay? I did it. Me, I did this. And it's like what I told Rafe... [Sniffles] That means I have to pay.

Theresa: Let's see. This ought to cover it. And, you know, maybe I might stop by and say hi to will on my way out because he is family.

Brady: Yeah.

Theresa: Be a good boy, okay?

Brady: I'll try.

Rafe: This is Rafe. Leave me a message, and I'll call you back.

Brady: Hey, Rafe, it's... uh, it's Brady. I haven't, uh... I haven't talked to you in a long time, man. I heard about Gabi, and she is young, and that is... that's just bad, man, and they ought to find A... I'm--I'm just sorry. Sorry, man.

[Phone clatters]

John: Hey, doc, it's john. So I just heard about Gabi Hernandez, and I know how upset you must be about her, will, and the baby, so... if you want to talk about it, I'm here and--

Hope: I wasn't expecting to see you here.

Aiden: I was in court all morning, needed a break. How you doing?

Hope: Great.

Aiden: Well, there it is.

Hope: There's what?

Aiden: That smile you force when you're upset. I think you used it on me a lot when we first met, and you deployed it at the bake sale when that prissy little girl said you didn't give her back the right change.

Hope: Didn't realize I did that.

Aiden: Oh. Hey, feel like talking about it?

Hope: It's just, um, when-- [Sighs] It's pretty complicated... [Sniffles]

Aiden: Yeah, yeah, hey.

Hope: [Crying]

Aiden: Hey. It's the candy bar that's too hot for TV,

Hope: Sorry, I don't-- I don't usually do that.

Aiden: No. Having a miserable day, huh? Hate when that happens.

Hope: [Laughs] Me too.

Aiden: Like I said, I was at the courthouse. I heard that Gabi Hernandez confessed to killing nick Fallon. I called her, left a message, offered to represent her.

Hope: [Sighs]

Aiden: What's this like for you?

Hope: God, I just... I wanted to believe so badly that he'd changed, that he was okay.

Aiden: You know, from what I saw of nick, he-- he had a mind of his own, and for whatever the reason, Gabi wasn't asking for help. There's really nothing that you could've done.

Hope: You know what, I'm really sorry, but you know, you're basing that on one meeting--one meeting. You don't really know anything out the situation... or me for that matter.

Aiden: Okay, well, maybe you're right about Gabi and nick, but know you better than you think.

[Cell phone ringing]

Bev: Hi. I heard you were back. Yeah, no, I want to see you too. I can catch you up on what's been happening since you left, including the new and improved JJ Deveraux. [Giggles]

JJ: Sonny, hey.

Sonny: Hey.

JJ: Uh, this is Paige.

Paige: Hi.

Sonny: Hello, Paige.

JJ: Yeah, you got a minute?

Sonny: Yeah, please, come on in. You two know Ben, right? He works at the club.

Paige: Hi.

JJ: Hey.

Sonny: JJ's my cousin. More importantly, Abigail's brother.

JJ: You know Abigail?

Ben: I just met her, but she seems pretty great.

JJ: Where's Ari?

Sonny: I just put her down for a nap.

JJ: You know, I don't know what to say except that I'm sorry.

Sonny: Yeah, me too.

Gabi: If you can't get Arianna to sleep, just rub her feet. She loves that.

Will: I know.

Gabi: Oh, and when you turn the lights off before she goes to bed, just tell her to blow right before you turn them off because she thinks she can blow them out. She really likes that. I'll make you a list of other things too.

Will: Sonny and I will talk about you all the time.

Gabi: EJ is pretty sure that you'll be able to bring her to visit me, and I can get email and videos.

Will: I'll write you every day.

Gabi: Okay.

Will: I'll tell you everything she does.

Gabi: Oh, she's getting-- she's pulling herself up on the furniture, and that means she's gonna be walking soon. And I'm not going to be there for that. But I'm so happy that she has you and sonny, because if she didn't, I'd go crazy-- I mean, well, crazier than I already am.

Will: We'll take good care of her.

Gabi: I know. I know you will. [Sniffles] I'm just only gonna be able to see her every once in a while. And until she's talking, I can't tell her why. I can't help her understand.

Rafe: I know. [Sighs] I know that this is hard. Mami-- Mami, I can't understand you when you're crying so hard. Aunt Rosales? Oh, thank God. I'm just glad she's not alone. Well, I don't know what to say to her except that I love her. Yeah, I want to tell her that everything's gonna be okay, but I can't. [Laughs] I will. Yes, I will call you as soon as I hear anything. Bye. Well, that was brutal.

Jordan: Well, I don't think there's a gentle way to tell a mother that her only surviving daughter is facing prison.

Rafe: Oh, my God. You know what she used to say? She used to tell me, "you're the older brother. You look out for them."

Jordan: You did everything that you could.

Rafe: I did not do everything that I could. No, I didn't. I didn't even-- I didn't even come close.

Hope: No, no, no, no. Nope, you don't know me as well as you think you do, Aiden.

Aiden: Well, I disagree. See, I have the unique point of view of someone who misjudged you on sight. But then when I finally got to see who you really are, I decided, you know, I should be little bit more observant, and I have been.

Hope: And what do you see?

Aiden: I see a good and decent person, someone who doesn't give herself enough credit for all the good that you do, so sorry if I disappoint you, but I'm gonna continue to think of you as an awesome lady, but don't let it go to your head.

Hope: You don't have to worry about that.

Aiden: Come on, you know that I'm right. Just admit it.

Theresa: Hey, the deli couldn't make change for $100, so I got some Chinese. What are you doing?

Brady: I'm getting out of here.

Theresa: Oh, okay. But, you know, it's been kind of a rough day, so you know, it'll be easier to face the big, bad world after another bump.

Brady: Why not?

Theresa: [Laughs] Okay. [Sighs]

JJ: All right, there. Here's all my information. If you need anything, just call. Babysitting. You need something, like, from the store, just you name it.

Ben: So you talked to Abigail? How's she taking all this?

Paige: Well, she's pretty upset, but--

Ben: But what?

Paige: Oh, my God, I knew I'd seen you before. You used to live in Miami, right?

Rafe: Sorry I snapped at you.

Jordan: There's nothing you could've done. Gabi is an adult that took matters into her own hands.

Rafe: Everything seemed so simple before, didn't it? When it was just the two of us getting to know each other, falling in love. You do know those days are over, right?

Jordan: I know w hard this is gonna be, and I know where your focus is gonna be, but just know that no matter what, I am here, okay?

Rafe: Okay. Okay.

Will: We will get our daughter through this, and I'll find a way to make her understand.

Gabi: Promise?

Will: Promise. So I'll handle that, and EJ will handle all the legal stuff, okay?

Gabi: I love you. And tell sonny I love him too.

[Door opens]

You have another visitor.

Will: I'll go, but I'll be back.

Gabi: Kiss our daughter for me.

Will: I will.

Gabi: Okay.

Abigail: Oh, my God. I can't--

Gabi: Don't. Just don't say anything until you know the truth.
