Episode #12327 ~ Nicole races to rescue Jennifer from Liam; Theresa makes a confession; Abigail & Ben butt heads.

Provided By Suzanne

Jennifer: Liam, come on. Come on, let's just--let's go back on the ferry together, okay? And we can--we can just talk, and we can get you the help that you need. That's what you want, isn't it? To just get past this and feel better about everything? Isn't that what you want?

Liam: It's too late for me.

Jennifer: No.

Liam: It's too late for you too.

Jennifer: [Gasps] Liam, what are you saying?

Liam: I'm saying you wouldn't--couldn't love me. You're like all those other hateful bitches who led me on.

Jennifer: Oh, God. Liam--

Liam: And now because of that, you've given me absolutely no choice.

Abigail: Any other work you think you can find to avoid talking to me?

Ben: I'm sure I can.

Abigail: You must think that you had some sort of justification for threatening Nick like that.

Ben: I didn't threaten him.

Abigail: Oh, really? What would you call it then? You literally scared him away.

Ben: He should've been scared, the way he was treating you. No guy should ever talk to a woman like that.

Abigail: I told you, Ben. You misunderstood, okay? He was just trying to make a point.

Ben: So was I.

Abigail: What, that I need saving? Because I don't. I'm not some delicate little flower, okay? I can take care of myself.

Ben: I can see that.

Rafe: So Ben made sure that I understood he wasn't gonna stand by and watch you get hurt. Jordan, I feel like I deserve to know where all this is coming from.

Jordan: Where do you think it's coming from? It's because I told him that I'm in love with you.

Rafe: What?

Jordan: Ugh. I have to go.

Rafe: No, no, Jordan. No, I'm not letting you go. Not this time.

Abe: Well, I am glad that you are free to join us.

Maxine: Hey, thank you for asking me. Would you care for an apple juice, honey?

Theo: Okay.

Abe: There you are. Well, this was Theo's idea, and I thought the carver men should have some company.

Maxine: Well, I am honored. I mean, this is a great day for a picnic. I didn't even know this part of the park existed.

Theo: It was mama's secret. She used to bring me here all the time.

Eric: I wish I could be more helpful.

Daniel: Running it with you helps. I know Theresa's involved in this. She can throw somebody else under the bus, which she's all generally too happy to do. It's just a matter of prying it out of her. What?

Eric: I just realized. I should have thought of this before, but I think I know what to do.

Theresa: First time in my life I'll be early. Just got to get on that plane before Liam implodes and takes me down with him. Okay.

Eric: Well?

Daniel: Well, he'll do it.

Eric: That's great.

Daniel: Yeah. If this works out, maybe I can get all the answers I need and put this to rest for good.

Nicole: One more time. Do you know where Jennifer is? Yes or no?

Maggie: Yes. She's at the cabin on smith island.

Nicole: But is she staying overnight?

Maggie: No, actually, she should be on the ferry home. Look, whatever this mysterious urgent matter is, why don't you just try calling her again? If she's off the island, cell reception should be better.

Nicole: Okay, thanks.

Maggie: Nicole. Not so fast.

Jennifer: Liam... please. You won't get away with this. Please.

Liam: Did I not make myself clear? After everything that's happened, I see no solution to the problem that is you. You have to die.

Daniel: Well, Eric, thanks for coming up with this plan.

Eric: I just hope it works. And if it does, then I know I'm not the one you need to thank.

Daniel: Yeah. [Sighs]

Theresa: Okay. Sayonara, Salem.

Maggie: I don't know what's going on, but if Jennifer is in trouble--

Nicole: No, no, no, no, no. No, it's all about me. It's always about me. You know that. I just really need a friend right now, and my options are severely limited. But don't worry, I will work it out. Maggie, I'm sorry to concern you. Thanks.

Maggie: Sure.

Nicole: Okay, now to get to Jennifer before Liam does, spin my story, make me look like the good guy, and hopefully someday Eric and Daniel will find a way to forgive me. If it's not too late already.

Jennifer: Liam, I know that you're terribly upset, but this is not the way to handle it. I told you that I would help you, and I mean that. I will help you, but you have to put the gun down.

Liam: No, I'm not falling for your lies again. Stop talking.

[Cell phone rings]

Liam: I got that.

[Ringing continues]

Liam: [Grunts]

Abe: I didn't know your mom brought you here.

Theo: She used to sit right there, where Maxine is. She told me to bring you here one day, today. Sawyer!

Abe: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Go play with sawyer, but stay where I can see you, okay?

Theo: Okay.

Abe: Sorry.

Maxine: For what? It's important that Theo keep those memories of his mother alive.

Abe: Well, thanks for understanding.

Maxine: My husband, your Lexie, they'll always be a part of our lives. Lexie was such a great person, just upbeat, kind, beautiful. When my husband, Carl, passed, I told Lexie I couldn't imagine life without him. She said, "you'll never be without him, but your life will go on." And it has. With my friends' and family's encouragement, I've been able to move on. Otherwise I might not be here today.

Ben: It's not you I was worried about.

Abigail: No?

Ben: That guy, his body language, he looked like he was ready to explode.

Abigail: It's called a discussion. A loud one, yes. But still a discussion.

Ben: Well, from where I was standing, it didn't look like he was about to back down.

Abigail: Nick's my cousin, okay? He's my cousin. He would never do anything to hurt me. That's not who he is. I mean, he's had some issues in the past, but he's not that kind of person.

Ben: Well, I hope you're right, 'cause if your cousin is that kind of person, from the looks of today, the way he was acting, I'd hate to see what he's capable of.

Rafe: Jordan, hey. Hey, talk to me.

Jordan: Oh, I'm just embarrassed.

Rafe: Embarrassed about what? Because you told your brother about your feelings before you told me?

Jordan: I can't believe I just blurted it out like that, and I should've never said anything to Ben.

Rafe: Why not?

Jordan: Because he jumped to the wrong conclusion. He screwed up everything.

Rafe: The wrong conclusion? What are you--oh. You're saying you're not in love with me?

Theresa: Brady, this isn't the best time.

Brady: Yeah, I can see that. Where you going? What kind of trouble are you in now?

Daniel: Well, let's hope Brady will be the one to get through to Theresa.

Eric: Well, if he's serious about not drinking, keeping his distance from her.

Daniel: Well, he's serious about helping. I know that.

Eric: Well, I know Brady. When he sets his mind to something...

Daniel: Yeah, Eric, do you think while Brady's sober, that you and he might be able to--

Eric: No. I've tried many times to work things out with him. I know my stepbrother. Listen, he'll never forgive me for what happened with Kristen. You know what, I'm gonna go check on Nicole. She seemed a little uneasy earlier. Want to make sure she's okay, okay?

Daniel: All right.

Eric: Listen, let me know how everything goes with Brady and Theresa.

Daniel: Will do.

Eric: All right.

Nicole: Come on, Jen, pick up.

Liam: Jennifer, I don't think you understand.

Nicole: Oh, no, Liam's with her. He's telling her everything. Come on, come on, come on. Damn it. If Liam went to Jennifer... oh, God, Eric. All right, I know I totally deserve this, but please just give me a chance to say good-bye.

Jennifer: Liam, you're hurting me.

Liam: Good!

Jennifer: [Screams] It doesn't have to be this way.

Liam: You said you'd stay with me, and then you ran away.

Jennifer: Because I was scared.

Liam: Well, you should be, because I am done with your games, Jennifer. I'm done.

Abigail: Could we just not talk about my cousin anymore?

Ben: No problem. Guess I better get back to work.

Abigail: Ben, wait. Look, if I've somehow given you the wrong idea...

Ben: About what?

Abigail: Well, you seem like a really nice guy, and because you work for my cousin, I was trying to be friendly, but if I've given you the impression that I'm--I'm--

Ben: Wait. You don't think I went after that guy because I'm hot for you?

Abigail: No. No, of course not.

Ben: Look. If I embarrassed you out there, I apologize. I guess I sort of misread things.

Abigail: That's understandable.

Ben: But just for the record, I would have done the same thing if that jerk had been going after any woman the way he was treating you.

Abigail: Right, got it.

Ben: And even if I was hot for you--which, I'll admit, I do really enjoy arguing with you-- it's all meaningless, because, well, I work in this place and clearly, you're out of my league.

Abigail: Out of your-- no, wait, that's not what I meant to say at all when I was-- you're kidding.

Ben: Yeah.

Abigail: Well, you are just full of surprises, aren't you?

Ben: And so are you. Is that a bad thing?

Jordan: No, that's not what I was saying. When I told you that I loved you, it was--

Rafe: It's okay. I get it.

Jordan: You do?

Rafe: Yeah. Yeah. Of course I'm disappointed, but--

Jordan: Disappointed?

Rafe: Yeah. Yeah, because I wanted to be the one that told you that--

Jordan: What?

Rafe: That I'm totally, madly in love with you.

Brady: I thought it was Salem or bust. Where you going, Timbuktu?

Theresa: L.A., actually.

Brady: L.A.?

Theresa: Yeah.

Brady: That place you were so desperate to get away from?

Theresa: Yeah, well, my mom's missing me like crazy. It's hard to believe, I know.

Brady: I didn't say that.

Theresa: Yeah, well, you were thinking it. See, my mom's sick, and my dad, he's out of town, and my brother, well, apparently it's up to me to be the dutiful daughter, and since I fell down on the job so many times before, I'm gonna do my part, so...

Brady: That's really nice. Good for you. I got to say I'm kind of bummed about it, though.

Theresa: Why?

Brady: Well, because your mom's not the only one that's been missing you. I have too.

Eric: Well, I tried Nicole's cell, but it went straight to voicemail. Well, I was wondering if you knew what kind of story she was working on. I-- I see. Well, I'll just check at her hotel. If she does come in-- thanks, Leanna. Oh!

Maggie: Oh! I'm sorry.

Eric: So sorr--so sorry.

Maggie: Are you in a hurry?

Eric: No, I was just trying to check on Nicole.

Maggie: Oh, what a coincidence. I just saw her.

Eric: Yeah?

Maggie: And frankly, I'm worried about her.

Eric: Why?

Maggie: Well, she seemed agitated, and I don't think she was telling me the whole truth.

Eric: About what?

Maggie: She seemed desperate to talk to Jennifer, and she didn't want to tell me why. And after everything that we've been through, I just hope to God it had nothing to do with Daniel.

Daniel: Hey, Jen, hope you got everything taken care of at the cabin. You're probably on your way home now. So I will see you soon. All right, I love you. Whew. What the hell?

Jennifer: No, I'm not-- I'm not--I'm not playing games, I promise you. I'm not. You scared me, that's all. If you would have just told me how much you cared about me in the first place, things would be so different. Why do you think I was so attracted to you in the first place? I know that you never would have treated me the way Daniel treated me. Because he slept with Theresa to punish me.

Liam: But if you knew that, why did you go back to him?

Jennifer: Because I was wrong. I made a mistake. Let me... let me make it up to you. Please. Just put the gun down and let me show you how much I care about you.

Maxine: Instead of ing organic pesticide, Carl used weed killer. Wiped out my mother's knockout roses.

[Laughter]

Abe: Well, I got to tell you, I wish that all of our domestic squabbles had been that benign, but when your in-laws are the DiMeras--

Maxine: Benign? Shoot, there was near bloodshed and all-out disownment going on in my house.

[Laughter]

Maxine: My mother swore she'd never speak to Carl again. Then the next day, he passed, and, well...

Abe: Oh, I'm so sorry, Maxine.

Maxine: There's always something left unsaid, isn't there?

Abe: Yeah. You know, we knew for months that Lexie was sick, and I thought we had said all there was to say, and then later, I kept thinking, you know, why didn't I just--

Maxine: I know. I know. When I said... "death do us part..." I didn't have any idea it would be this soon, or I would've done things so differently.

Abe: Yeah. Yeah. Me too.

[Cell phone rings]

Maxine: Oh. How did it get to be this time already?

Abe: [Laughs] Well, next time, we will plan ahead and do this on a day you're not working, but thank you for joining us.

Maxine: Like I said, I'm honored you asked. Hey.

Abe: Hey, my man. Well, Maxine is gonna go to work, so why don't you tell her good-bye and thanks for joining us?

Ben: I meant it when I said I had to get back to work.

Abigail: So do I. I do--I do too. But, Ben, wait, um... I'm sorry if I gave you a hard time before. I know that you were just trying to help.

Ben: Yeah, I-- I'm sorry I butted in before with your cousin. I flew off the handle, but you just got to understand, that guy--

Abigail: It's okay. I'll just chalk it up to the fact that your parents raised you to be a gentleman, chivalrous. Okay, well, I'll talk to you later.

[Cell phone rings]

Jordan: Mm. Oh.

Rafe: Yours or mine?

Jordan: Oh, let's see. Oh, the hospital.

Rafe: Oh, terrific. Oh, look at that, my boss wants to see me too.

Jordan: Well, you can't stand up Abe.

Rafe: Or a patient.

Jordan: So much for our lunch, huh?

Rafe: Rain check?

Jordan: Absolutely.

Rafe: Mm.

Jordan: What?

Rafe: I'm really glad your brother came to town.

Jordan: [Laughs]

Theresa: You missed me? You chose a meeting with the hospital board over being with me.

Brady: No, no, I chose defending Daniel.

Theresa: Oh, oh, that makes me feel so much better.

Brady: Maybe this will. I couldn't get you out of my head. And clearing Daniel's name, for the record, means clearing yours as well. So technically, Theresa, you could just stay right here in Salem. Because fleeing like this with all of your stuff looks like an admission of guilt.

Theresa: I already told you, Brady, my mom is sick.

Brady: And if I ask Caroline or Kayla, they'll back up your story, right? You just admitted to me you're running because you're guilty.

Theresa: I'm not. I'm gonna miss my flight if I don't get out of here right now.

Brady: You know, I spoke to Daniel earlier before I came over.

Theresa: Oh, yeah? What lies is he telling about me now, hmm?

Brady: He said someone planted prescription drugs in his apartment.

Theresa: And I already told him that it wasn't me.

Brady: Good, I'm glad. I like you. I like you a lot. I don't want you to leave. I hope you know that. I want to help you, but I can't help you if you run. The only way I can help you is if you stay here and be completely honest with me. What do you say?

Eric: Well, I just came from Daniel's. He was fine.

Maggie: Well, that's a relief. But now I have to wonder what had Nicole so rattled.

Eric: I'm sure she's just worried about him, like all of us are. I feel like I owe Daniel so much, and I'm sure she does too.

Maggie: I think it was more than that. As I said, she was--she was upset.

Eric: She didn't tell you anything?

Maggie: Well, I actually had the impression that it might be about you. Okay. So the fact that you have no idea what I'm talking about or what's going on concerns me even more. [Sighs]

Liam: Jennifer.

Jordan: I need a coffee to get me through my shift and a minute of your full attention.

Ben: What's up?

Jordan: I talked to Rafe. I told you not--

Ben: Look, I know what you told me, and maybe I was out of line, but just save the lecture, because I've met my quota for the day.

Jordan: Who else is lecturing you? You're supposed to be flying under the radar.

Ben: Don't worry. This girl doesn't listen, so even if I did say anything--

Jordan: Girl?

Ben: Yes, a girl. But it's nothing to worry about. At least I made sure of that today, so just--let's just drop it.

Jordan: Okay, sure.

Ben: Besides, it's not like you came here to talk about that. You came here to read me the riot act about talking to Rafe, so knock yourself out.

Eric: What did Nicole say?

Maggie: That she needed to see Jennifer right away about something personal.

[Cell phone rings]

Eric: I have to go.

Maggie: Is everything all right?

Eric: Yeah, listen, if you run into Nicole or happen to see her, would you just let her know that I'm looking for her?

Maggie: Of course.

Eric: Okay, take care.

Maggie: Bye.

Theresa: Here's the God's honest truth, Brady. I hate Jennifer Horton very much, and I think--no, actually, I know--that she's a hypocritical, sanctimonious bitch.

Brady: Tell me how you really feel, Theresa.

Theresa: But if there's one person that I hate more than her, it's Daniel.

Brady: Why?

Theresa: Let me count the ways, but you--you already knew all that.

Brady: Uh-huh. Tell me something I don't know, then.

Theresa: Okay. Now, there's a small part of me that wishes that I could take credit for what happened to him, but I had nothing to do with setting Daniel up.

Brady: Then why are you running?

Theresa: Read my lips. I didn't drug Daniel. I didn't plant those pills in--

Brady: Then who did it?

Theresa: I don't know.

[Cell phone rings]

Brady: [Sighs]

Theresa: What is it?

Brady: I really tried, Theresa, but looks like it's too late for me to help you now.

Liam: Lying bitch! You did it again. You don't get another chance.

Jennifer: [Gasps]

Rafe: Well, okay. I will check with my FBI guy and see what he can get us.

Abe: Oh, good, I appreciate that. Rafe, take an hour for lunch once in a while, why don't you?

Rafe: Well, I had planned to, but my lunch date got called back to work. What's your excuse?

Abe: Well, actually, Maxine and I had a picnic with Theo. It was--it was a nice lunch.

Rafe: That's great. This could've waited.

Abe: Oh, I learned many years ago the hospital waits for no man, so welcome to my club.

[Loud typing]

Maxine: You got a particular beef with my keyboard?

Abigail: No.

Maxine: Want to talk about it?

Abigail: If you had just met someone, and then they got in the middle of something that they knew nothing about, but then they acted like they were doing you this huge favor, would that upset you?

Maxine: That depends.

Abigail: On what?

Maxine: On what the motivation was and whether they helped or hurt things.

Abigail: Well, he thinks that he helped.

Maxine: It's a he?

Abigail: Yes. I just--I'm so sick and tired of men thinking that I can't make any decisions for myself.

Maxine: Is that what he said?

Abigail: No, but I can take care of my own problems, you know? Not that I even had a problem.

Maxine: But he thought you did?

Abigail: Yeah.

Maxine: Unless he caused the situation to be worse or caused some other trouble, I'd be inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt, maybe even be grateful for his concern. So do you not like this guy?

Abigail: No, he seemed nice enough, and I guess--

Maxine: Then I think maybe you should cut him some slack, huh?

Victor: Oh, there you are. I was starting to worry about you.

Maggie: Oh, I wasn't gone that long, was I?

Victor: Well, whenever you're away from me, it seems like an eternity. I made reservations for us tonight in that new rooftop restaurant. Nice views, dancing. Maggie, are you okay?

Maggie: Victor, I just had the oddest conversation with Eric Brady. I got the feeling that he knew more than what he was saying.

Victor: About what?

Maggie: Daniel and the way that he was drugged at the hospital.

Ben: What did Rafe say?

Jordan: I'm not disclosing anything private to you again ever.

Ben: Look, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have talked to Rafe, but I was worried about you.

Jordan: Well, do you feel better now?

Ben: That depends on what he said to you.

Jordan: Well, he said that he's in love with me. So I guess I should thank you for butting in, but don't do it again.

Ben: Okay.

Jordan: Really?

Ben: He'd be an idiot not to be in love with you. I'm not just saying that because you're my sister.

Jordan: Wait, you're not actually sounding glad for me right now, are you?

Ben: What can I say? Rafe makes you happy, and if you're happy, then I'm happy.

Daniel: You know, you really outdid yourself this time.

Theresa: What did I do?

Daniel: Well, look what I found in my apartment.

Theresa: What is that?

Daniel: Oh, as if you don't know. It's a listening device.

Theresa: Where would I even get something like that?

Eric: Theresa, what have you done?

Theresa: Oh, what is this, the inquisition?

Daniel: All right, cut the crap! Brady--Brady has she told you anything?

Brady: She keeps telling me she didn't do it, Daniel.

Theresa: Because I didn't. How many more times do I have to say it?

Daniel: None, none, because I'm done. This here, this bug can be traced. So I'm going straight to your uncle roman, and guess where you're going, guess. Unless you tell me who you're working with!

Theresa: No one!

Daniel: No one? Oh, that's great, so it's all you. Thank you, that's exactly what I wanted to hear.

Theresa: Wait, wait, it wasn't--it wasn't me, Daniel. It was all him, okay?

Jennifer: Nicole.

Nicole: Jennifer, come on. We got to get out of here. Come on.

Jennifer: Thank you so much.

Liam: It's too late.

[Both scream]

Liam: It's you again. Oh, you just couldn't leave this alone, could you?

Jennifer: No.

Liam: That's too bad for you.

Jennifer: No, Liam, Liam! Your issue is with me. It's not with her.

Nicole: Jennifer.

Jennifer: Please don't hurt my friend, please. Let her go. Please. Please let her go. Some things you have to squeeze to make sure they're soft.

Abigail: Thank you, Maxine. I'm glad that I ran into you. I guess I'm just, you know, overly sensitive because of what happened with Cameron and Chad.

Maxine: I didn't say that.

Abigail: And I should definitely cut him some slack. You must think that you had some sort of justification for threatening Nick like that.

Ben: Why couldn't you just stay the hell out of it?

Abe: You know, I'm not counting will and Sonny's wedding, but I haven't had a date in, well, a couple decades.

Rafe: Wow.

Abe: And I just didn't expect to--to talk so much about my late wife, Maxine's late husband.

Rafe: Was that uncomfortable?

Abe: No, no, actually, it was nice. Maxine and Lexie had been friends, and she had a lot of nice memories to share. But...

Rafe: But?

Abe: I couldn't help feeling a little guilty about enjoying myself.

Rafe: I understand. But don't you think Lexie would've wanted that?

Maxine: [Humming]

Abigail: Wow, that's a sweet tune you're humming.

Maxine: Tell your mother thank you.

Abigail: Sure, for what?

Maxine: She was my dear Abby. She said, "Maxine, you need to get out of this hospital and think about yourself for once."

Abigail: Oh, so when you were finally thinking about yourself, was there also perhaps a gentleman who was thinking about you too? [Laughs]

[Cell phone chimes]

[Cell phone rings]

Victor: I don't understand. Why would Eric know anything about the way Daniel was drugged?

Maggie: I'm not sure. He said very little, actually. He was just in a rush to find Nicole, and that's very strange too.

Victor: How?

Maggie: Well, because I had just run into Nicole before I spoke to Eric, and she was frantic to find Jennifer. She wouldn't tell me why. Just, she needed a friend.

Victor: Oh, "friend." The woman needs a lobotomy.

Maggie: Oh, Victor, I just have a bad feeling about all this.

Victor: You know, I get a bad feeling every time Nicole's name comes up, so let's not talk about her anymore and get ready to go out to dinner.

Maggie: But, Victor, the way she was acting--

Victor: Shh, shh, shh. I don't care what that nut job said or how she said it. Forget about Nicole. Daniel and Jennifer love each other. They're together. Nicole can't hurt them anymore. All she can do is annoy the hell out of them. They'll be fine. Repeat after me, Maggie. Jennifer and Daniel will be fine.

Maggie: Jennifer and Daniel will be fine.

Victor: There, that wasn't so difficult, was it?

Maggie: No. Okay.

Victor: I love you, my darling.

Maggie: Oh, I love you. Okay, okay.

Daniel: Him? What in the hell are you talking about? Don't you mean Anne Milbauer?

Theresa: No, no, it-- it was Liam Frazer.

Liam: I don't know what's more pathetic, your pretending to care about me or her thinking you're here to rescue her because you're her friend. Because let me tell you something, Jennifer, she's no one's friend, okay? You think what I've done is bad? Oh, sit down. Sit down! Before we end this, you might as well die with a clean conscience. Go on, Nicole. Tell Jennifer what you've done.
