Episode #12324 ~ Nicole realizes Liam is dangerous; Gabi, Nick, & Aiden meet to draw up a custody agreement.

Sonny: Sami.

Sami: I called. I-I-I cleared it with will. I called, and I checked and I didn't just drop by.

Will: She--she did. I-I-I forgot to tell you. That's my bad.

Sami: But I can come back later, if this isn't--

Sonny: No, that's okay. It's okay.

Sami: Okay. I just want you to know that I-- I know I'm not supposed to just drop by without calling, so I did, in fact, call. You know, because, well, sometimes I worry that people think I'm pushy.

[Both laugh]

Sami: You're laugh--anyway, I'm here to see Gabi. I brought her something. Is she here?

Will: Um, actually, she's not right now.

Sami: Okay, I can wait.

Will: [Clears throat] She's probably not gonna be back for a while.

Sami: She's with Nick, isn't she?

Nick: So, I-I set up a meeting with that lawyer that I told you about to talk about the custody agreement.

Gabi: Right now?

Nick: Yeah. Oh, look. Here he is.

[Door closes]

Aiden: Nick?

Nick: Yeah. Nick Fallon.

Aiden: Hey.

Nick: Nice to meet you. This is Gabriella Hernandez, Arianna's mother.

Aiden: Aiden Jennings. I understand you got my name from Abigail Deveraux.

Nick: Yes, she's my cousin, and she said that you did an amazing job with JJ's case.

Aiden: Well, that's good to hear.

Nick: [Chuckles]

Aiden: Nick, if you'd just excuse us, I think Gabriella and I need to go over some things alone.

Gabi: No, I-I need--I want Nick to stay.

Paige: What's wrong?

JJ: Nothing. [Sighs] I heard that you're leaving town this fall. Stanford. How come you didn't tell me?

Paige: I--[Laughs] Literally just found out. I'm still kind of reeling.

JJ: But you--you accepted it? You're going to California. For the next four years.

Theresa: Hey, I need to talk to you.

Anne: So you heard about Daniel Jonas's hearing?

Theresa: No, I haven't, actually.

Anne: It was a travesty of justice. Yeah, guy comes back to work tomorrow. Little slap on the wrist and no surgical proceedings for now. He gets to keep his job as a doctor.

Theresa: So this hearing, did anyone say anything about me?

Debra: Wait, don't go. I'm-- I'm here. I'm Debra Frazer, Liam's ex. Are--are you okay?

Nicole: Uh, I'm sorry, it's just you look so much like--

Debra: Like the woman that Liam is currently obsessed with? Yeah, why am I not surprised?

Daniel: Jennifer, you're scaring the hell out of me. What--what is it? Just tell me.

Jennifer: This. So now that I know what is finally...finally going on here, you and I need to have a very serious talk.

Sonny: Okay, now, before you blow up again about Nick and Gabi, you need to see the one piece of good news in all of this.

Sami: There's good news in this?

Sonny: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. At least it's out in the open that the two of them are together.

Sami: Oh, because that makes a world of difference.

Will: Actually, it kind of does. I told Gabi that I want a formal custody agreement, so that way the three of us aren't walking on eggshells anymore.

Sami: [Sighs] But will, as long as Nick is in the picture, we're not walking on eggshells, we're walking on broken glass. I mean, for go--

Sonny: I love your positive attitude.

Sami: Listen, there's actually something I need to tell you.

Will: God, I hate it when you have something to tell me.

Sami: Look, I tried to talk to Gabi and smooth things over, and it didn't go well. Which is why I'm here with a peace offering. I hate that I made things worse with Gabi. I-I just see red when I hear Nick Fallon's name, and I hate hearing her defend him.

Will: You're not--you're not the only one. I mean, I brought up this custody thing even though I know--I know how she reacted when I brought it up before Ari was born. It pushes her buttons.

Sami: But with Nick in the picture, we don't need to worry about Gabi's buttons. You know what, Sonny, I'm gonna call your dad. Maybe he can draw up some paperwork.

Will: Um, actually, EJ already offered to help us out with that.

Paige: Of course I accepted it, JJ. It's one of the best universities in the country.

JJ: Right, yeah, as opposed to Salem U. I mean, what kind of dump is that if they'll accept a loser like me?

Paige: I never called you a loser.

JJ: Well, your BFF Marybeth sure thinks so.

Paige: I make up my own mind about people.

JJ: Yeah, you make up your own mind about a lot of things.

Anne: What a surprise. I'm very upset, and we end up talking about you.

Theresa: Damn straight we're gonna talk about me. I have a lot on the line here, Anne.

Anne: I already told you I kept your name out of things, so why are you still so worried?

Liam: What's that?

Theresa: Key to Dr. Dan's apartment. Look, you know exactly why I'm worried, okay? Daniel hates me, he and Jennifer blame me for everything that goes wrong with their lives.

Anne: I just told you, Theresa, nothing went wrong for Dr. Dan.

Theresa: Oh, no? No? You just said that he doesn't have surgical privileges.

Anne: Yet. He's supposed to get them back in a month! But you know what? Knowing how that guy steps in, I'm sure he'll have them back by the end of the damn day! You know what? Why don't you get it, Theresa? That guy could be found standing over a dead body with a smoking gun in his hand, and they wouldn't convict him. They would just erect a statue of him in Horton square. Next to a statue of Jennifer Horton, who is not a bitch just as much as he is not a drug addict.

Theresa: Just keep it down, okay?

Anne: Let me tell you something, that guy should not be emptying bedpans, let alone performing surgery, but since all the fools on the board think he walks on water, well, then he'll be back here tomorrow-- ow! God!

Theresa: Sorry. Look, I hate him as much as you do, okay? But right now we need to talk about this in private, so we're gonna go to your office right now.

Anne: You pinched me!

Nicole: So you can see why I stared at you when I saw you.

Debra: Right. Well, I'll tell you one thing. When it comes to Liam, blondes do not have more fun. Poor woman.

Nicole: So he has a thing for blondes?

Debra: It's more specific than that. I mean, you see how she and I look alike?

Nicole: Yeah.

Debra: Well, her resemblance is actually a whole lot stronger to the first real love of Liam's life. Sorry, not love. Liam doesn't love. It's... something else.

Nicole: You weren't the first?

Debra: No. No, no. I was-- I was just one of the many attempts of, um, him trying to recreate the first time.

Nicole: Oh, my God, now he's focused on Jennifer. Obsessed with Jennifer. Well, that explains almost everything.

Daniel: Jennifer, I-I never wrote this prescription for you, let alone had it filled. What do you think is going on here?

Liam: Here it comes, Dr. J. Kiss the lady good-bye.

Jennifer: It's what I know is going on here. Someone got in here... and they set you up.

Aiden: Well, it sounds as if you and the baby's father have a living situation that works out for everyone. Gives you both the maximum amount of time to spend with your daughter.

Gabi: And Sonny, will's husband, he's Arianna's godfather, and he loves her very much.

Aiden: Well, why do you think you need a lawyer?

Gabi: Well, will wants a formal legal agreement.

Aiden: Just out of the blue?

Gabi: I kind of mentioned that I was thinking about moving out a while back, and he said that it made him feel vulnerable.

Nick: So if he goes forward with the custody agreement, I think we need to make sure that Gabi's rights are protected.

Aiden: We.

Nick: You should tell him about will's mom. She's kind of the wild card in all of this. She pushed for a custody agreement a while back before the baby was born, and now it's kind of come up again. Tell him what she said to you the other day.

Gabi: She called me an unfit mother.

Aiden: And those were her exact words?

Gabi: Yeah.

Aiden: Will's mom is Sami Brady, right? That was the woman who was on trial for murder last summer.

Sami: EJ's representing you. He, uh--he didn't mention it to me, so...

Will: Mom, this isn't about you, okay?

Sami: Right, no. Right, I--of course. Sorry. I just hate that I caused problems between you and Gabi.

Will: So how did it end between you two?

Sami: Pretty much the same as always. Not well. I mean, I tried to explain to Gabi that, you know, we both love Arianna, that we're on the same side here. But it ended the same way it always ends with Gabi. One step forward, two steps back. But that is because of Nick.

Aiden: Well, emotions run high with custody issues, and people say things that they shouldn't. Let me ask you, before will brought up the legal agreement, did you get along with his mom?

Nick: Tell him. Go ahead.

Gabi: Well, when I was, um, when I was pregnant, she started yelling at me about a custody agreement, and she wouldn't stop, and I almost lost the baby.

Theresa: Look, okay, you don't like Daniel or Jennifer, I get it. Could you please get over yourself and help me?

Anne: Wow, how nice to have such an understanding friend.

Theresa: Anne, that key that I had made to Dan's apartment. No one else knows about it, do they?

Anne: How many times do I have to say it? No one knows.

Theresa: Okay. All right. So no one knows about it, and I don't have it anymore, so no one can accuse me of anything. I'm good.

Anne: Wait--wait a minute. What do you mean, "I don't have it anymore"? W-what happened to it?

Debra: But Jennifer and your friend Daniel, they worked things out? She went back to him?

Nicole: Right.

Debra: Yeah. Liam doesn't take well to women leaving him. Especially when it's for another man.

Nicole: And you know this from experience.

Debra: Yeah, one that I never want to have again.

Nicole: What happened?

Debra: I-it was like I told you, you know, he kind of swept me off my feet at first. He acted like the whole world revolved around me. We got married only after a few months. And then, I don't know, here and there I started to realize that he wasn't in love with me at all. He was--he was trying to turn me into Lindsay. That's the first woman. She broke his heart, and he never got over it. Anyway, the marriage went downhill pretty fast after that. I started to pull away, and I asked for a divorce. [Sighs] He...went crazy. Literally crazy. I mean, like, scary crazy.

Nicole: Oh, my God. He's gone crazy all over again.

Jennifer: So the cleaning woman Monica--she said that she wanted to be so thorough, and she couldn't keep the information to herself. So all of a sudden, you have a substitute cleaning woman who happens upon your stash? Are you kidding me, Daniel? She was a plant. Someone got your key, came into this apartment, and planted pills, and then arranged for her to lead me to them.

Daniel: Well, planting drugs in my kitchen is one thing, but how did they get the drugs in my system before the surgery? That just--

Jennifer: Daniel, I have no idea, but I think it's pretty obvious that whoever planted those pills figured out a way to drug something that you ingested. And then when you left for the hospital, they came back here and cleared out every bit of evidence. I mean, it terrifies me to think of how much planning went into all of this.

Daniel: Okay. Yeah. And how... tell me, how did they get a dirty cleaning lady? Hmm? How'd they do that? You know what? It was a lot of planning for nothing, 'cause whoever did this--they're not getting away with it.

Jennifer: No, they're not.

Sami: I've been thinking about this a lot, will, thank you. I just--I just think about how we keep saying that Gabi is blind, right? That we remember what Nick has done, we see how creepy he is, but obviously she doesn't.

Will: Yeah.

Sami: But what if that's not it? You know? What if she isn't blind? What if she remembers everything? What if she's scared? You know, she knows how cruel Nick can be. She knows better than anyone how manipulative he can be. What if she feels like she has to go along with him?

Gabi: Mr. Jennings, you don't understand. I don't want to be confrontational. I don't want to keep Arianna away from will. I'm just afraid of what Sami might tell will and Sonny to do.

Nick: She's engaged to EJ DiMera. Will is a Horton and a Brady. His husband's a Kiriakis. Gabi is up against some very powerful people.

Aiden: Right. Gabi, um... what is your relationship with Mr. Fallon?

Gabi: We're friends.

Aiden: Well, you said he had to be here at this meeting.

Gabi: Well, we're close friends.

Aiden: Well, then that might be a very serious problem.

Paige: I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you.

JJ: Paige, I'm--I'm sorry. Okay, look, I didn't say congratulations. Congratulations.

Paige: Uh, thanks, but it kind of doesn't feel like you mean it.

JJ: No, I-I do. I really do. It's just--[Sighs] You're gonna be gone for four years. I mean, in a couple of months you're--you're gonna be gone for good.

Paige: Do you think I'm gonna get a big head, think I'm better than everyone else?

JJ: You are better and smarter than I am.

Paige: Don't say that. You are so musically talented. More than I could ever hope to be.

JJ: Okay, look, I don't--I don't think that you're gonna get a big head.

Paige: Well, then what is it that has you so pissed?

JJ: You know, who cares what it is? Why the hell even talk about it? What's the point?

Theresa: I got rid of that key a long time ago.

Anne: Oh. Oh, okay. So you're obsessed over something you got rid of a long time ago.

Theresa: What can I say? I'm a little paranoid when it comes to Daniel. Okay? I mean, you said it yourself. He gets away with murder. Just--I want to make sure that you didn't tell anyone about that key.

Anne: I told you I wouldn't, I told you I haven't. You don't believe me?

Debra: If what Liam is doing now is anything like what he did to me, your--your friend Jennifer should be very, very afraid.

Nicole: What did he do to you?

Debra: Just stupid, mean, petty things at first. It got worse, though, when I started dating someone. The harassment. He, uh--he would stage things so my new boyfriend and I would get into fights, talk about me to people I worked with, gossip about me. I thought that was bad.

Nicole: You mean there's more?

Debra: He used his access to pharmaceuticals to make everyone think that I was a drug addict.

Nicole: No.

Debra: I knew it was him. I can't prove it, but I know it was Liam.

Nicole: Debra, would you--

Debra: No. No. I am not coming forward, so don't even ask me. I have my life back. Finally. You know, I can't--I can't risk him coming after me again. He is more than capable of ruining my life, and he would enjoy doing it. He would. He--he would find some weakness, some shred of something, and he will destroy anyone who gets in his way. Oh, God. He has something on you, doesn't he?

Daniel: There aren't any security cameras in the building, so there's no record of whoever might've been coming or going. I'm definitely getting the locks changed.

Jennifer: You know what I think? I think we should keep the locks and get our own camera and catch this person red-handed. That's what I think we should do.

Daniel: Yeah, you wanna catch him red-handed?

Jennifer: Why are you smiling?

Daniel: Because of you. You're so intent and determined. And you're on my side. Thank God you didn't fall for all of this.

Jennifer: Of course I didn't. I know you. I may have doubted you in the past, but I was always wrong. I know your heart now, and you're a good, honest man.

Daniel: I love you so much.

Jennifer: You know what I think? I think all of these difficult times have been really good for us. I think that it has made our love even stronger and deeper.

Will: Maybe you're right. Maybe Gabi is scared of Nick. But that doesn't take away from the fact--and believe me, I hate saying this--doesn't take away from the fact that she is attracted to him.

Sami: Attracted to him--ugh.

Sonny: It's hard to believe that anyone would be attracted to Nick, but will's right. Nick has this hold over Gabi that no one else has.

Sami: [Sighs] I mean, that girl is a mess. And Nick, of all people, I mean, he has a criminal record.

Will: I guess he also does not have a daddy with great lawyers and a judge or two in his pocket.

Sami: Don't you ever--and let me repeat, ever--compare EJ to Nick.

Will: [Clears throat] I just think that you should be a little more careful about attacking Gabi for going out with some dumb guy. And that is not what I meant.

Sami: No, that is what you meant. I'm standing here trying to help you, and you're throwing my past in my face.

Sonny: Oh, hey, you know what? I think it's time for neutral corners. I'm gonna go check on Ari, and I want you to get your mom a glass of water.

Will: [Scoffs]

Sonny: And then you both can sit and think about how to change the subject.

Will: [Sighs] I will go get you some water.

Sami: [Sighs]

Will: I'm sorry.

Sami: Yeah, me too. Me too. This is beautiful, by the way. Please don't tell me that Adrienne gave it to you. I will kill myself.

Will: No, she definitely did not give it to us.

Sami: It's lovely. I love the personal touch. I think it's really sweet. Who did give you this incredib-- oh, God. No. Please, please, don't tell me that this is fr--

Will: Oh, yeah, that's-- that's from Nick.

Aiden: You were convicted of kidnapping and murder, Mr. Fallon. Now, legally, that qualifies as a problem.

Nick: I paid for those crimes.

Aiden: Yes, but we're headed towards family court, and there are a lot of judges there that might not think four years was a sufficient penalty.

Nick: Sounds like you don't think four years is a sufficient penalty.

Aiden: But more to the point, they might have some serious reservations about someone with your background being part of that child's life.

Nick: It won't come up.

Aiden: Excuse me?

Nick: You don't bring it up, and I can guarantee you that will and his lawyer won't bring it up either.

Aiden: Well, how could you be so sure of that?

Nicole: I-I don't think I'm his target.

Debra: You're asking questions about him. You're trying to help your friends. That makes you his target. So listen to me, and listen good. Don't let your guard down. And don't ever think that you have Liam's number. Do whatever you have to do to protect yourself.

Daniel: Okay, the locksmith's coming right over, and now I am gonna get all my prescription records from my laptop, also from my office at the hospital.

Jennifer: Okay, right now I am so glad that you are obsessive about record keeping.

Daniel: Yeah, well, I know for a fact that I didn't write that. And I'm pretty sure that I can prove it was faked.

Jennifer: Okay, oh, maybe I should call hope and tell her about the cleaning lady.

Daniel: Whoa, no, no, no. Not--not quite yet. No, I don't want to pull hope or roman into this just yet. Especially since Theresa could be a part of this.

Jennifer: Hm.

Daniel: I don't want to make accusations until I can back them up.

Jennifer: Okay, I just want to make sure that nothing else happens.

Daniel: Hey, honey, honey, nothing else is gonna happen. We're gonna get to the bottom of all of this, whether it's Theresa or someone else. Right now we have ways of getting to the truth.

[Typing]

Liam: I've lost her. Forever. So now I have to decide what to do next. You know what you have to do. You don't have a choice.

You did it!

Sami: Well, I never said that Nick wasn't diabolical.

Will: He's smart. And maybe--

Sami: No. Will Horton, so help me God, if you say you think that he has changed, I will lose my mind.

Will: I would never, ever say that. I am only saying that maybe he's trying.

Sami: We can't think like that. You cannot get sucked into Nick's game the way that Gabi is--we have to keep our guard up here.

Sonny: Sami, I don't know what good that's gonna do right now. You know? Gabi's right. She knows that Nick holds all the cards. You and Kate threw him into a river and left him for dead, and will and I helped cover it up. He's got evidence, a witness.

Sami: I know, okay, I know all of that, but I can tell you right now I'm not gonna spend the rest of my life bowing and scraping to Nick Fallon's every whim.

Will: Sonny and I don't want to do that either. But what choice do we have?

Sami: Well...

Will: Oh, God.

Sami: What?

Will: That--that look. When you get that look, that scares me.

Nick: Let me assure you that I never would've gotten involved in all this. I never would've started over with Gabi if I weren't 100% sure that my past would not hurt her chances of maintaining custody with Ari in any way, shape, or form.

Aiden: Well, maybe you're 100%, but I gotta tell ya, if I was representing the father, things got contentious--

Nick: Well, you're not representing the father. We're hoping that you'll represent Gabi.

Aiden: Right. Well, based on everything you two have told me, I have some ideas about the best way to protect your interest, Gabi.

Nick: Great. We're all ears.

Paige: What's the point? What's that supposed to mean?

JJ: It just seems a little ridiculous to be spending time together when you're going to be leaving.

Paige: But that's months from now. [Sighs] And I'd like to get to know you better. Spend time together. And if we get to be better friends, we can Skype while I'm gone, and I'll come back on vacations. But this conversation is kind of ridiculous. That's all so far off.

JJ: Right, so we both agree that it's ridiculous. It's pointless. 'Cause we both know that that's not gonna happen. I-I'm done here. 'Scuse me.

Debra: I know you're not gonna tell me. Liam does have something on you, doesn't he?

Nicole: Is there anything you can do to help me?

Debra: [Sighs] Take that as a yes. This is to our joint safety deposit box. Liam doesn't know that I still have a key. I, uh--I kept it from when we were married. I-I check on him from time to time just to keep tabs on him. If Liam does have something on you, it's--it's probably in there.

Nicole: Thank you.

Jennifer: Okay, I'm gonna call aunt Maggie and just tell her I can't make it out to the cabin today, Daniel.

Daniel: No. No, you don't. No, there's nothing more for you to do here. It's beautiful there. Just...

Jennifer: If you're sure, I--

Daniel: Okay, all right. I am sure. If you don't meet those workmen, they're gonna charge you for nothing, so you go, you get that water heater fixed, and you enjoy this lovely spring day. And you enjoy that this crap is gonna be all...

Jennifer: Ugh.

Daniel: Over with.

Jennifer: Yes, please. Mm-hmm.

Daniel: Right? I got this. Okay?

Jennifer: All right.

Daniel: All right.

Jennifer: Your phone.

Daniel: My phone, thank you, your purse. Have a great time, day, love it. [Sighs] Okay.

Liam: So, the cabin.

Will: Please, do not go out and make a bad situation even worse.

Sami: I won't. But I'm not gonna stand by and let that man keep you from your child, okay? More to the point, EJ won't.

Will: Now, I hope you're referring to EJ's legal skills and not the way that the DiMeras typically handle their problems.

Sami: [Scoffs] Will, EJ is a fabulous lawyer. You are a fabulous father, and Gabi is a good, if somewhat deluded, person. It's gonna work out. Trust me. [Smooches] Oh, it was lovely to catch up with you. Please say good-bye and hi to Gabi for me and give her my present and an abject apology. That would be fantastic. Bye.

Will: Now, she is up to something.

Sonny: But what?

Will: I-I don't even--I don't even want to know.

Gabi: Okay, this is kind of, um--well, this just sounds like I won't be letting will see Arianna very much.

Aiden: Well, this is just where we start. Gives us something with which to negotiate. Look, I just wanna make sure that you are in the driver's seat. After we reach an agreement, you can be as generous to will as you want.

Gabi: He's her father. I don't feel like I have to be generous to let him be with her.

Nick: No, he's right. This--this is just to keep Sami in line. You know, this doesn't change your and will's relationship at all. I think it's a great idea.

Aiden: Right. Okay, well, I'm gonna go get these drawn up, and I will get back to you, okay?

Gabi: Mm-hmm.

Nick: Great.

Aiden: Oh, uh, one last thing, just so we're clear. I represent you, Gabi. And only you.

Gabi: Why did he say that?

Nick: Like he said, just to be clear. I feel really great about all this. I think you finally have somebody who's looking after you and your rights. I think everything's gonna work out just fine.

Daniel: Uh, no, no, no, no, she did a fine job cleaning, but she just left something behind, so if you could give me her address, maybe her cell phone number. Ugh, right, okay, well, you have my cell phone number, so please call me when you hear from her. Thank you.

Daniel: Ah, thank you.

You, uh, get ripped off? What'd they take?

Daniel: Well, they didn't take anything. They left something.

Daniel: Yeah, it's very weird. Uh, thank you again. Appreciate it.

Daniel: All right. I'm gonna test these prescriptions against the history at the hospital. Find out who's been screwing with my life.

Liam: I've got hard evidence in hand, and I got the feeling that you'd do anything to protect the little secrets that you try to keep under wraps.

Nicole: If I could just get my hands on that reconstructed shred of proof about Chyka, then that stupid picture Liam has on his phone will mean nothing. So all I have to do is steal his phone, delete the picture... wait a minute, don't get ahead of yourself, girl. Still gotta get the stuff back. And thanks to Debra, I know just where it is.

Anne: [Sighs] I am taking a break, so if anyone needs anything, Theresa is in my office, okay?

Daniel: It's over! Over!

Theresa: I don't know what you're talking about.

Daniel: The hell you don't. I know what you did, and I can prove it.

Will: Gabi, I just put Ari down for her nap.

Gabi: Good.

Will: My mom came by. She brought you this. She feels really bad about--

Gabi: Will, look, I, um--I want everything to be out in the open, and you know I went to meet up with Nick, but what you don't know is that we were meeting with a lawyer, and we're drawing up a custody agreement. And I think that we'll be able to work everything out.

Will: Let the games begin.

Nick: Sami. Just the person that I wanted to see.

Sami: I'm busy. We'll talk later.

Nick: No. We're gonna talk now.

JJ: Hey, Bev, it's me. Do you want to hang out tonight? Yeah, yeah, like on a date. Paige? What about her? No, that is not gonna be a problem, 'cause it is over.

Paige: Need a hand?

JJ: Thank you.

Theresa: How can you prove it when I didn't do anything?

Daniel: Well, I don't see any point in giving you any more specifics than I already have. So I think we're ready to call hope. Yeah, yeah, it's time to call the police.

Theresa: I--stop, you can't do that.

Daniel: Stop?

Theresa: Yeah, that wasn't me, I swear.

[Clatter]
