Sami: When's the last time you and I had a date night?

EJ: It's been a long time.

Sami: And you are in such a good mood. It's almost like we're celebrating something.

Abigail: Oh, my God. I'm--I'm not--I'm not pregnant.

EJ: You know, in a way, we sort of are.

Sami: Really? What's the occasion?

Nick: There you are. Wow, you--you look amazing.

Gabi: Thanks.

Nick: Uh, did you get a sitter?

Gabi: Uh, will and Sonny are home. I told them I was gonna meet a friend from one of my classes, but I don't think they bought it.

Nick: [Laughs]

Gabi: Maybe we should have met somewhere else.

Nick: Oh, no. Mrs. Brady isn't here. I checked.

Gabi: Still, I mean--

Nick: Well, and I also--I kind of have a soft spot for this place because this is where I saw you for the first time. I remember I was looking at you, and you were smiling at a customer, and I thought to myself, "that is the most beautiful girl that I have ever seen in my entire life." I still think that.

Stefano: Perfect. The stage is set.

[Door opens]

Nicole: You wanna tell everyone what we're arguing about, hmm? You're so much more eloquent than I am.

Eric: Yeah, well, I think you've said enough for both of us.

Nicole: You see, father Eric here--well, he's not really a priest anymore, not that you'd know it.

Hope: Abe, um, excuse me, can I talk to you a second? Be

Hope: Yeah. Listen, I, uh--I can't take any more of this, and I really don't wanna be in the same room as that guy over there, so would you back me up when I say I'm leaving because of work?

Abe: Only if you take me with you.

Hope: Let's hit the road.

Maxine: I'd like to propose a toast!

Daniel: Yes.

Maxine: To love... that triumphs in the end.

Nicole: Like that'll happen.

Eric: I'm sorry. I think it's best if I just make myself scarce.

Maxine: Not so fast. No one's going anywhere.

Jennifer: I love you, Daniel.

Sami: Come on. Tell me. What are we celebrating?

EJ: Okay.

Sami: [Squeals]

EJ: It was about a year ago on an April night just like this one, I proposed to you. You said yes.

Sami: Yeah, like that was some big surprise.

EJ: There have been a few times over the last year that I wasn't sure if we were going to make it.

Sami: Me too. But we did.

EJ: Yeah. We found our way back to one another.

Sami: Yeah. Like we always do.

Nick: Hold it right there.

Gabi: Stop.

Nick: That's it.

Gabi: Okay, Nick, stop. No--

Nick: Just wait, wait. Just hold it, one more time. One more of that. I got it.

Gabi: You're making me feel self-conscious, you really are.

Nick: I got it. See, look. See? You're so much--you're even more beautiful when you're not all glammed up.

Gabi: Are you kidding? Delete that.

Nick: That's beautiful.

Gabi: You need to delete that.

Nick: Are you kidding me? I am not deleting that. That's my wallpaper now. That's totally my wallpaper. I'm done, I'm done. I'm done, I swear.

Gabi: [Sighs]

Nick: Okay, just one more thing and that's to say that the reason that you're so beautiful on the outside is because you're so beautiful on the inside. You're the kindest person that I've ever met.

Gabi: I guess you haven't met a lot of nice people.

Nick: That's possible. Very possible. No, but maybe that's--maybe that's the reason that you've made such a difference in my life. You know, you make up your mind about somebody, and that's it, no matter what it costs you. And I know that you would go to the wall for--for Arianna, for Rafe, for will, Sonny. I know you would.

Gabi: I mean, that's what people do when they love someone.

Nick: Not everybody. Believe me, it was--it was your loyalty and not your looks that made me really fall in love with you.

Maxine: As I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted... I know that we all wanna wish Jennifer and Daniel all the happiness in the world, but I can't do that 'cause some people in this room are acting like a bunch of spoiled brats. So now, I suggest that we all get over ourselves, start this evening again, celebrate the fact that this great couple have finally gotten together. You see where I'm going with this? So I tell you what. I'm gonna go in the kitchen and pull those pizzas out of the oven, and when I come back, I wanna see smiles on everybody's faces. If not, there will be consequences.

Liam: Nothing's gonna happen for Jennifer and me. Not with Daniel Jonas in the way.

EJ: Let's go get a drink.

Sami: Uh, oh, okay. But I have something I have to tell you first.

EJ: What?

Sami: Did you, by chance, see the look on your dad's face before we left?

EJ: No, why?

Sami: He had a very "he's up to something" look.

EJ: Samantha.

Sami: I don't think that bodes well for us. And then--then he was asking me about the wedding, and then I said that we had set a date, and he said he was delighted.

EJ: Now what's wrong with that, hmm?

Sami: Since when is he delighted that you and I are together?

EJ: Samantha.

Sami: EJ!

EJ: Oh--okay, I'm sorry.

Sami: What?

EJ: I don't want to talk about my father.

Sami: Well, me neither, but don't you think we should--

EJ: In fact, actually, I don't even want to think about my father. The only thing that I wish to concentrate on this evening is you.

Stefano: Are you sure that you would not like a glass of champagne, hmm? Katerina, look, it's your favorite kind. Ah.

[Opera music]

So why don't you make the toast?

Kate: Here's to sitting down with you for the very last time.

Stefano: [Chuckles] Salute. [Chuckles]

Nick: I know I just--I went too far.

Gabi: It's okay.

Nick: I'm sorry about that.

Gabi: It's okay. You know, you, um--you make me feel good about myself, and there aren't that many people who do that.

Nick: You mean Sami and Kate?

Gabi: Well, they--you know, they make me feel like I'm the dumbest person on the planet, and Sonny does sometimes too.

Nick: That's because of me, right?

Gabi: No.

Nick: Come on, Gabi. You can be honest about it.

Gabi: Okay, you're right.

Nick: [Laughs] I'm sure Rafe wouldn't be too happy if he knew that we were together tonight too.

Gabi: Well, I mean, to him I'm always gonna be the baby sister that he has to look out for, and he doesn't realize I'm grown up. I mean, I have a baby of my own.

Nick: I'm so sorry for all the things you've gone through because of me. But I just think that--that certain couples are--are meant to be together. You know, like--like Heathcliff and Cathy, like Romeo and Juliet.

Gabi: Okay, well, it didn't exactly work out for either one of those people you mentioned.

Nick: Very good point. Point well taken, but they-- they belong together. And I think we do too. And there's only one person in the world who could convince me that I'm wrong. And that's you.

Hope: I second everything Maxine said. And I truly apologize for my part in ruining this evening. I'm so sorry.

Daniel: No, no, it isn't ruined.

Jennifer: No, and even if it is, it wasn't your doing.

Hope: Well, as much as I wish it weren't true, I just--I guess I'm not in the party mood these days.

Jennifer: No, I understand. And, you know, I just really misread the situation between you and Aiden.

Hope: Yeah. Yeah, so did I, I guess. I don't know. Listen, what I'm trying to say is I think you'd have a better chance reviving this party if I wasn't here. So I'm going to excuse myself, but I do wanna say I could not be happier for you two.

Jennifer: Thank you.

Hope: I'm gonna slip out.

Jennifer: Okay.

Hope: Okay.

Jennifer: I love you.

Hope: I love you. Bye.

Jennifer: Thanks for coming.

Hope: Sorry, Daniel.

Daniel: No, it's okay.

Hope: Bye.

Daniel: Well, I guess the party idea was a bit premature.

Jennifer: No, that's not the problem.

Daniel: What--

Aiden: Well, uh, thank you for including me, but I should really head out. Just don't tell the lady in the kitchen. She scares me a little bit.

Jennifer: Okay.

Daniel: Oh, don't you worry about Maxine.

Jennifer: Yeah, thank you for coming, though. I appreciate it. Nice to see you. Bye.

[Laughter]

Hope: One of the reasons I left is so you'd feel more comfortable staying.

Aiden: Can I buy you a coffee?

Hope: [Laughs] What? You categorically disapprove of me, now you wanna buy me coffee, seriously?

Aiden: No, I'm serious, yeah. Can we do it right now?

Jennifer: You and Nicole had a fight, huh?

Eric: Yeah. A big one. It's my fault.

Jennifer: I'm sorry.

Eric: Listen, I'm sorry about tonight. I haven't seen her act like this since I got back to town.

Jennifer: Well, I know her well enough to know that she only acts like that when she's really hurt. But you'll work it out. She loves you very much.

Nicole: First of all, Daniel, I am so sorry for spilling wine on you.

Daniel: No, it's no big deal.

Nicole: And second, I'm sorry that I caused a scene. I mean, I do--I do things I can't even explain sometimes.

Daniel: Yeah. So is this about Stefano and Marlena?

Nicole: No. This is a mess of my own making, and somehow I have to figure out how to get out of it.

Eric: I'm awfully sorry about tonight.

Daniel: You know what, no big deal.

Eric: Thanks for understanding. I'll--I'll call you later.

Daniel: Yeah, yeah. I was living with pain -- all over.

Stefano: Remember, Katerina, there are two sides to every story, ah.

Kate: You sent a man to Rafe's hospital room with orders to neuter him with a straight razor. What's the other side to that? Am I supposed to feel compassion for you, for someone who is so pathetically threatened as a man?

Stefano: [Chuckles] I have no fear of Rafael Hernandez. It's just I simply--well, I thought you had better taste.

Kate: I tried to love you as best I could, and still you turned on me. What was I supposed to do, become a nun?

Stefano: Better than a putana (whore). [Grumbles] Tonight this is all about you, all right? It has nothing to do with me. So you have the right to say anything that you want to say. Just go for it. Say it. It's up to you. It's all on you.

Gabi: Uh, Nick, what you said, it was, um--it's very sweet and romantic, but I'm just not there yet.

Nick: Yeah, I know. Sure. I just--I wanna be completely up front with you.

Gabi: That waitress just keeps disappearing, and I'd love another cup of coffee. Um--

Nick: I'll get us some, okay?

Gabi: Thank you.

Nick: Yeah.

Sami: Hey, who knows what could happen? I mean-- well, how about that? Salem's next top model having coffee all by herself?

Gabi: I wouldn't say top model, but, um--

Sami: Is something wrong?

Gabi: No. No, just, um--nothing.

Sami: Uh, it's not nothing, Gabi. You're not having coffee by yourself, are you? You're here with Nick.

Jennifer: Hey, let me ask you a question. Aren't parties supposed to be fun?

Daniel: Well, yeah, that's the general idea, mm-hmm.

Jennifer: I am just so glad you spoke up, Maxine.

Abe: Maxine does have a way of telling it like it is.

Daniel: Oh, yeah.

Maxine: I couldn't just stand around and let you two be sidelined at your own celebration. Truth is, we need to get out of here and give them some time alone before Daniel has to go pick up Parker.

Abe: Yeah, you're right. So, uh, let me pull the car around.

Maxine: What a gentleman.

[Laughter]

Abe: It was fun tonight.

Daniel: Fun, wow. Good word there, Abe.

Jennifer: Yeah.

Daniel: Good word.

Abe: It ended up being fun. All right, give me five minutes or so.

Daniel: All right, thanks for coming. Take it easy.

Jennifer: So... you and Abe came together?

Maxine: Oh.

Jennifer: Yes.

Maxine: I told you he took pity on me 'cause I loaned my car to Nancy miller in three west. That's it.

Jennifer: I don't know about that.

Daniel: Thank you for coming tonight. And you know what, a special thank-you for being in our corner.

Maxine: How can I not be in your corner? You two are two of my most favorite people in the whole world.

Jennifer: We love you, Maxine. You're so sweet. Thank you.

Maxine: So I don't wanna keep Abe waiting down there.

Daniel: Okay, all right, well, I will see you when? Tomorrow.

Maxine: You know it, Daniel.

Daniel: Yes, I will. Here, let me help you out with that.

Maxine: Okay.

Daniel: There you go.

Maxine: By the way...

Daniel: Mm-hmm?

Maxine: I expect to be seated in the front pew at the wedding.

Daniel: Right this way.

[Door closes]

Jennifer: Well, then...

Daniel: Yeah. We--we should, uh--let's just clean up.

Jennifer: Yeah, definitely.

Daniel: That's a good idea.

Nicole: So, um, are we gonna talk about this?

Eric: I guess we'd better.

Nicole: Look, I embarrassed you in front of your friends, and I am so sorry.

Eric: I was a self-righteous jerk.

Nicole: But when you said you wanted to wait to have sex before we got married, I just-- I didn't think you were serious. I mean, marriage, it's--that's a long way off, isn't it?

Eric: I honestly don't know how to answer that. We have a lot of stuff to work through. But I know one thing for sure. I love you.

Nicole: Still?

Eric: I know what I'm asking of you.

Nicole: I can wait. I can. I'm not gonna like it, but I can do it.

Eric: Are you sure?

Nicole: I was--I am so hot for you. And it just didn't sink in that you wanna marry me. Well, it's sinking in now. You have no idea how much it means to me. The man of my dreams not only loves me as much as I love him, but he wants to marry me? If we have that going for us, we can make anything work out, right?

Jennifer: Okay, uh, what should I do with these pizza boxes?

Daniel: I will put them in the recycling bin when I leave to pick up Parker.

Jennifer: That's great. And I have all the bottles and the cans that are all bagged up right there.

Daniel: Yeah, oh, great. That's great.

Jennifer: Yeah.

Daniel: And I wanna marry you, okay, I--

Jennifer: I wanna marry you too. I mean--

Both: Just not right now.

Jennifer: There we go. That's settled.

Daniel: Yeah, totally, just--

Kate: There was a time that I believed we genuinely cared for each other. But now I understand that you don't know the difference between love and possession. You still bray about your love for your family, but all you wanna do is own them. We're not alike anymore. I've moved on. And suddenly I don't even have an appetite.

Stefano: No, whoa, whoa, wait, whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait, wait, wait here. You said what you wanted to say, huh? Now you listen to me.

Sami: You are here with Nick, aren't you? Just tell the truth.

Gabi: Nick went to go get us some coffee, okay? And before you start yelling at me, Sami, let me just tell you that I feel better about myself than I have in a very long time, and it's because of Nick.

Sami: Oh, so he's admitted it. He's come right out and told you that he wants you back.

Gabi: Yeah.

Sami: [Scoffs]

EJ: Hey, Nick. You got a second? Let's go and have a little chat outside.

Nick: Uh, Gabi's waiting for me, so--

EJ: Oh, that's all right. Samantha's taking care of Gabriella. Come.

Nick: So what? Sami knows that Gabi's here with me. She's in there badmouthing me.

EJ: You don't get to control what people say or think about you. Now you might think that you've convinced Gabriella to believe in this new incarnation, but Samantha and I--we know you haven't changed one iota.

Nick: I don't have to listen to this.

EJ: Who exactly is it that you think you're dealing with?

Aiden: Well, I, uh--I owe you an apology.

Hope: For which thing?

Aiden: Making things difficult tonight. I mean, Jennifer seems like a really great lady, and I like Daniel too.

Hope: It's me you have the problem with. Clearly you don't want anything to do with me.

Aiden: Well, you don't want anything to do with me either, so why did you agree to come?

Eric: I wanna spend the rest of my life with you. [Chuckles] I've known that for a long time. But I wouldn't let myself make a promise until I was sure it was impossible for me to continue as a priest.

Nicole: But you know now, right?

Eric: Yeah.

Nicole: Are you sure?

Eric: What are you getting at?

Nicole: Well, you wanna stay celibate until we're married.

Eric: I'm still a religious man. I still have to follow the church's teachings.

Nicole: Is that it, or is the priesthood still on the table?

Eric: It can't be. Kristen saw to that.

Nicole: Right. But this--this waiting-- I know I said I would wait, but it's gonna be so hard for me. Eric, how long? I mean, how--how long until we can express our feelings to each other in every way? How long before we can finally make love?

Jennifer: I just--I just wanna make sure, you know, that we're on the same page, you know?

Daniel: Same page? What, are we having a business meeting right now? We love each other, check. We wanna be together, check.

Jennifer: Sorry. I--

Daniel: No, look. We have both been burned, and we just wanna--wanna be careful.

Jennifer: Yeah, I mean, I can't even think about getting married right now until my life just calms down a little bit.

Daniel: No, me neither. I just--and we just got together, so--

Jennifer: Right. But the thing is, I can't even imagine my future without you in it, so... can't believe that I lost both of you so tragically and I loved both of you so much. I really thought that my life was over. But I want you to know that a miracle has happened, and... I have found true love again. I really have.

Liam: There's gotta be another way.

Gabi: Nick has made it clear that it is up to me to decide whether or not we get back together.

Sami: Of course he's gonna say that. He has a gun to your head.

Gabi: He does not.

Sami: Okay. What do you call those photos that his pal Percy took? He basically has proof that we threw him in a river and left him for dead.

Gabi: That was your idea. You made me do it.

Sami: Me? Is that what Nick is saying? 'Cause Nick can say whatever he wants. He'll say whatever he wants to get what he wants, and he wants you.

Nick: Oh, I know exactly who I'm dealing with. I'm dealing with somebody who's threatened me multiple times and can't follow through. Because he's smart enough to know that he can't.

EJ: You keep telling yourself that.

Nick: I'm sure Sami's educated you on what would happen to her if you lean on me. So maybe you should think about the fact that you're dealing with someone who's very likely smarter than you.

EJ: Yeah, but not smart enough to know when you've met your match.

Stefano: Join me.

Kate: No, thank you.

Stefano: Ah.

Kate: What did you wanna tell me?

Stefano: [Clears throat] Well, you said we made a marriage. And during all the time that there was this marriage, did you ever for once think or even feel that I did not love you? Or was there ever a time that you thought maybe you did not love me?

Kate: That's ancient history. We're done here. Good-bye.

Hope: I guess I agreed to come because I'm confused about you.

Aiden: Why?

Hope: Because. The way you talked to me this morning after the kids had the fight, I really thought that we had declared a ceasefire. But then this afternoon, you clearly did not agree with the way I dealt with my friend's son and now we're in armed camps again. You see? I don't get it.

Aiden: You think I'm too judgmental.

Hope: And you think I have two sets of rules. One for friends and family and one for the rest of the world.

Aiden: I don't think you're a bad person.

Hope: Oh, thank you.

Aiden: We just don't look at the world in the same way. We're not going to be friends.

Hope: And even though our kids go to the same school and we live in the same town.

Aiden: Yeah, we're gonna run into each other.

Hope: Whether we like it or not.

Aiden: Yeah, so we have to find a way not to get others caught in our crossfire, like Daniel and Jennifer tonight. And that's why I wanted to buy you the coffee, because, look, I don't want this to get worse. I don't. What I want is for it to be, I don't know, tolerable?

Hope: I think we agree on something.

Aiden: Hmm.

Hope: [Chuckles] What do you know?

Aiden: Well, good.

Jennifer: Okay, wait. Have you seen my shoes?

Daniel: Shoes, shoes, shoes. I don't know. Uh--oh! There's one. By the fridge.

Jennifer: Oh, my.

Daniel: One shoe.

Jennifer: How'd it get up there?

Daniel: And have you seen my wallet?

Jennifer: Oh, you had it when you were paying for the pizza.

Daniel: Pizza. Right here. That's right. I remember.

Jennifer: Okay. You know what, I will--I'm gonna clean up the bedroom.

Daniel: Yeah, that's a good idea.

Jennifer: Don't forget to take the pizza boxes.

Daniel: I won't, I won't. I can't believe I thought this was a good idea. What a disaster.

Jennifer: No, it really wasn't a disaster. In fact, you know what? I think that this night turned out to be really, really great.

Daniel: You do?

Jennifer: Yeah. [Laughs]

Eric: Nicole, I am in a place that I never expected to be, and I'm happy. That's all I can really say. Can we just take it one day at a time and just enjoy what we have together?

Nicole: Yeah, of course. I mean, we love each other, and we've known each other forever, and--and we wanna get married. [Laughs]

Eric: And when we do, we're gonna have one hell of a honeymoon.

Nicole: Oh, wow. You know, if you want, we can talk about setting a wedding date.

EJ: I take it you saw Nick.

Sami: I don't get it, okay? I really don't understand how she could let him reel her back in. I mean, if she didn't have Arianna, I'd be like, "fine. Good. Go for it. Have fun. Good luck." But she does. She has that little baby. And if Nick gets back together with her, then he can use that to ruin will and Sonny's lives. And I am not gonna stand by and let that happen, and I don't understand why you're not as mad about this as I am.

EJ: Because Nick just told me something without knowing it, and it's gonna come back to haunt him.

Sami: Really? What did he say?

EJ: Just do me a favor, okay? It's important he stays overconfident. He needs to think he's winning. Okay?

Sami: Okay. Are you sure?

EJ: Yes, I'm sure. You know what I'm sure about? I'm sure that we need to finish our date. Can we do that please?

Sami: [Chuckles]

EJ: Come on.

Nicole: Oh, my God. I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have put that pressure on you.

Eric: No, no, it's not that at all.

Nicole: Well, then what is it? Why can't you look at me?

Eric: Just, you know, talking about dates makes it all real.

Nicole: Is that a bad thing?

Eric: No, not at all.

Nicole: You were just talking about a honeymoon, and suddenly, I wanted to know when.

Eric: I understand.

Nicole: Yeah.

Eric: I have to go.

Nicole: What? Why?

Eric: Because.

Nicole: Wh--

Eric: Because I want you as much as you want me. Maybe more.

Nicole: Removing yourself from the occasion of sin?

Eric: I don't know how you put up with me.

Nicole: I do. Mmm.

Eric: Okay. [Sighs]

Nicole: [Sighs]

Hope: Ooh, it's time for me to pick Ciara up from choir practice.

Aiden: Yeah, I gotta head over there and get chase.

Hope: We're not setting a very good example for our kids on how to get along with people.

Aiden: Well, sometimes it's just not possible.

Hope: Mm.

Aiden: Kids have to learn that too. But you can be--

Hope: Tolerant. Civil. Right?

Aiden: Right.

Hope: We'll play this your way.

Aiden: Hmm.

Nick: Thanks for tonight.

Gabi: You don't have to thank me.

Nick: Good night.

Gabi: Good night.

Stefano: Ah, so how was the movie?

EJ: Ah, it was most enjoyable. Thank you.

Sami: What are you doing eating by yourself at a table for two?

Stefano: Well, my friend did not have much of an appetite. So that's it. Buona sera. Good night. Have good dreams.

Sami: Wow. Whoever his friend is, she certainly knew how to toss back the...good stuff. Oh, my God.

EJ: What?

Sami: I remember from the old days that this is the only brand that Kate would drink.

EJ: Kate.

Sami: If your father's not up to something, why is he drinking pricey champagne with a woman he claims to hate?

Nicole: It's all gonna work out. I know it. We love each other, and that's all that matters.

Eric: Hi, father Louis? This is Eric Brady. I wanted to talk to you about Nicole. I've caused her so much pain. If there's no future for her and me, I just have to know that now. Thanks.

Daniel: You know what? I gotta get upstairs and wake Parker up, so I can get him home.

Jennifer: You know what, I think he's probably really cozy up there right now.

Daniel: You know what? I am looking forward to the day that we don't have to say good-bye or good night.

Jennifer: Oh, I am too, so much.

Daniel: Are you?

Jennifer: Yeah.
