Maggie: Do you know what I just realized?

Victor: How lucky you are to be married to me?

Maggie: No, that we're alone. It seems like years since it's been just the two of us. Do you have to work?

Victor: Well, what do you have in mind, Red?

Maggie: Mm.

[Door slams]

Brady: Are you two having me followed?

JJ: All right, this isn't about work. I know all about the older man you were seeing.

Abigail: Just give me a break, JJ, okay? I told you--I hate talking about this, all right? So just leave it alone.

JJ: Abigail... who is he?

EJ: Samantha, you need to calm down.

Sami: Ha! I am not gonna calm down. You know how proud my brother was, how proud my entire family was that he had become a priest? And your family destroyed all of that.

Eric: Nicole is a wonderful woman. Her journey is one you could learn from, Theresa. If you ever get the chance, you'd be lucky to get to know her.

Theresa: Why in the world do you care so much about her? I mean, I may be new in town, but I know plenty about that bitch, and, yeah, yeah, yeah, look, I shouldn't be throwing stones, okay? But, Eric, that woman is no saint.

Nicole: Oh, my God, I don't know what's worse--Marlena looking at me like she knows or Eric thinking I'm some kind of hero. I got to make this right. And I can--I mean, maybe I can fix this. He's the best guy in the world, and you do this to him just to get what you want, and now it is too late to undo what you just did. Wait a minute. Maybe--maybe it's not.

Daniel: You have no idea how much I've missed this... being an "us."

Jennifer: I know. I know. Me too. So, you know, maybe we need to make up for lost time now. [Laughs]

Daniel: Oh. I just never thought this could happen again.

Jennifer: I know. Me neither. Me neither, but it is.

Daniel: Yes, it is.

Jennifer: Yeah.

JJ: You thought I knew who he was, didn't you?

Abigail: What?

JJ: Just then. It was, "Oh, thank God he doesn't know." That means it's bad.

Abigail: JJ, just stop it, okay? It doesn't even matter who he was, all right? It's over.

JJ: Do I know him?

Abigail: That is not stopping it, all right? Do I do this to you? Do I dredge up your past mistakes and then throw them in your face?

JJ: All right, do you see the way you're getting all worked up? That makes me think that it's not over.

Abigail: It is. It is over.

JJ: I don't buy it.

Abigail: Well, I don't really care if you buy it or if you don't. It is none of your business, JJ. And you can trust me--it's over.

JJ: I'm sorry. I just don't believe you.

Sami: All roads lead back to your sister, but she's not the only one to blame, is she?

EJ: Okay, look, fine. I know you think that I should have told you.

Sami: I mean, from the moment that he came back to town, I mean, Nicole was just there, like, circling him like a vulture. "Oh, yes, Eric, I would love to come help you with your holy work. I'll wear tight dresses and do your filing for you." I mean, I swear between that baby-stealing bitch and your psychotic sister, he didn't stand a chance. He's like--he's like--he's like catnip to women, you know? I mean, God, if you really wanted him to be a priest, why couldn't you make him less, just slightly less, irresistible? No, no, and then he has to be nice, on top of it, you know. Like, he always wants to see the best in people. He really does, which is my job. You know, it's my job to keep an eye on him, but, no, then I get sucked into my own problems, and I--

EJ: Which aren't exactly minor league, Samantha, just so you know.

Sami: God, you know, someone should have said something to me. Someone should have warned me about what was going on.

EJ: Fine. I know what you're gonna say. And you know what, Samantha? I don't have time to go down this road. I don't want to do it. All right? Sorry.

Sami: EJ, wait.

Eric: Theresa, you don't get to tell me what Nicole is like. I know what she's like. I've known her forever. She was my first love. She's selfless. She's brave, actually. And those are two words that I've never heard used about you.

Theresa: Wow.

Eric: Right. I'm not a priest now. I can say what I think.

Theresa: And so can I. So let me tell you something I do know-- people don't change, Eric... not really. You know, my mom told me about you and Nicole all those years ago and how you were so in love with her and she was so in love with money, so she dumped you for some rich dude. But, hey, you know what? If you want to trust her this time around, go for it.

Nicole: Well... it would take some time, but maybe I-I could piece this back together. Really? And then what am I gonna tell Eric? What, that I slipped and accidentally shredded the paper that would allow you to become a priest again? Really? Think, Nicole, think. Isn't it wonderful? Someone mailed it to me.

Daniel: Who?

Nicole: I don't know. It was anonymous. But look at it, Eric. It's what we've been hoping for. Your name is cleared. You can be a priest again. And--and these are all the drugs that Kristen used on you, proving that what happened was not your fault.

Daniel: My God, look at that. But what happened? It looks like it was destroyed.

Nicole: It was discarded and--and thrown away, I guess, a-and some noble human being found it and restored it.

Daniel: But how? And why?

Nicole: Who cares? The important thing is you're finally cleared.

Eric: You're right. Finally.

Nicole: It could work. But can I even piece this stuff back together? [Sighs] Wait a minute. They did it in Argo, right? Yeah, but they had, like, a hundred fanatics working on it, and it still took 'em half the picture. Come on, Nicole, focus. One step at a time... and the first step is to get this stuff out of here.

[Drawers opening, closing]

Victor: Damn it, Brady, I've had about a gutful of you.

Maggie: Victor.

Victor: What, he's too fragile to be told he's acting like a horse's ass?

Brady: I'm not--I'm not putting up with this. You are treating me like a child. Why are you doing that, huh?

Victor: Then grow up. How dare you accuse us of something like that? Having you followed--why the hell would we do that?

Brady: Why? Is it beneath you? You think you're clever with your cameras in the corporate suite, Grandfather. Come on, I overheard you. I overheard you talking about keeping tabs on me. I wouldn't put anything past you right now, especially having me tailed.

Victor: This whole conversation is unbelievable. You're like a two-year-old having a tantrum.

[Cell phone ringing]

Brady: Yeah, well, this two-year-old has a business call from China. I'm gonna continue my corporate responsibilities regardless of my problems with the two of you, okay? I'll leave you to make your next move in the "Keep tabs on Brady" campaign.

Maggie: Well, I'm not having him followed. Are you?

Sami: Where are you going?

EJ: Away. Well, clearly our reconciliation is very short-lived, Samantha. You know, you're already on the warpath about my sister, the whole DiMera family. I'm just waiting for my punishment. W-what's gonna happen now? Are you gonna kick me out of bed again? Or maybe this time--maybe you'll just leave altogether.

Sami: What are you talking about? How could you even say that?

Eric: It's just with your history, I'm having a hard time seeing you as an expert in the issue of trust.

Theresa: [Scoffs] Okay, you're right. I'm not perfect. I can be a bitch, but I can also recognize another one. Nicole is and always has been big-time trouble. I mean, look, she's living with Daniel, and his life is a mess now, Eric.

Eric: Okay, then why is everything Nicole's fault?

Theresa: No, it's not. You know what? You're right. That little creep JJ has something to answer for, and so does Jenn. I'm not a fan of those two either.

Eric: Okay, why is that?

Theresa: [Scoffs] Does it really matter to you?

Eric: Theresa, you're my cousin, and I will be there for you in any way I can. But let me lay this on the line for you, and it goes for my family as well. I never want to hear one bad thing said about Nicole, ever. I love her.

Nicole: Oh. [Sighs]

[Keys jingle]

Abigail: JJ, I swear to you-- it's over.

JJ: Really?

Abigail: Yes, really. I realized that today more than ever before.

JJ: All right. All right, but I'm here if you need--

Abigail: I need to talk, yes, thank you. I know. I just think it's best if we don't.

JJ: All right, you got it.

Abigail: Great. Thanks. So here's me changing the subject. There's something that you wanted to tell me when I came in.

JJ: Yeah, there is. And I think it's going to make you happy.

[Door opens]

Nicole: Oh, my God! What are you doing? Uh...

EJ: How can I even say that? Because of history, Samantha, because I've been through this before, okay? You start by going after my sister, then you zero in on me. Okay, well, I'm sorry. I'm not being blamed for the latest Brady catastrophe.

Sami: No, no, you can't go.

EJ: Oh, why--because you haven't finished browbeating me? I tell you what--would you mind putting it on tape? And I'll just listen to it later.

Sami: I am mad at the DiMeras, not at you.

EJ: I'm a DiMera.

Sami: You're not your father, and you're not Kristen. Okay, EJ, sit. I'm sorry, okay? I'm really sorry. I'm sorry that you felt like I was attacking you. I'm angry, and I am frustrated, and I had to keep a lid on it around Eric. You know how I hate to keep a lid on anything.

EJ: Especially the ketchup bottle.

Sami: Oh, my God, you're obsessive. What does it even matter? You don't even like ketchup.

EJ: It's not hygienic.

Sami: Oh.

EJ: How hard is it?

Sami: I'm going to work on it.

EJ: Please do.

Sami: I promise.

EJ: Mm-hmm.

Sami: And you know why?

EJ: Mm-mm.

Sami: Because I don't want anything to come between us... not ketchup, not your father, not your incredibly evil, psychopathic-- I mean to say I'm not going to let your troubled sister come between us.

EJ: Oh, you're so sweet. I never know how you feel.

Sami: EJ, I love you. I love you so much. And I was really angry, but I'm sorry that you felt like I was blaming you. And now you have to tell me that it's okay. Tell me that, after everything we have been through, nothing will ever come between us.

JJ: So, after all this time, I thought that it was going to be so hard to tell her, but she was great.

Abigail: No, you were great. It must have been really hard for you to tell Mom that, JJ.

JJ: That I was a horny jerk?

Abigail: Oh.

JJ: That I kept giving Theresa drugs because I was stupidly hot for her? And then being a complete coward... and letting Daniel take the rap when all he did was save her life. You promise to keep this between--

Abigail: I promise.

JJ: God, I-I feel like I can finally breathe. That bitch was blackmailing me for months. And I was finally able to beat her at her own game.

Abigail: I'm just so sorry that you had to go through all of that alone.

JJ: I didn't. Daniel--it wasn't just that night. He was great all along.

Abigail: So how did Mom react to all of this?

JJ: I think for once in my life, I did the right thing. I think things are gonna work out great for them.

Nicole: Um, I-I-I'm sorry. I mean, I know what you were doing or what you were about to do. I just didn't think you would be doing it in here. I mean, this is your apartment. Jennifer, you're with him, and he's with you, and you're about to do it together, and...

Jennifer: Hey. Hi.

Nicole: Apparently you made up. That's great. That's--oh, God, that's wonderful. You don't need me here, so I'm gonna go.

Daniel: No, Nicole, wait, no, no. Why don't you stay?

Nicole: What? That's crazy. No, I'm not staying.

Daniel: No, I'll--yeah, I'll walk you out.

Nicole: No, Daniel--

Jennifer: No, no, really. It's okay. It's okay.

[Door opens]

Daniel: I'm--I'm really sorry about that.

Jennifer: No, don't be sorry. Your friend's in trouble, and, um--and you need to help her, just like you helped my son, and that is what I love about you.

Daniel: Yeah, she seems upset, so...

Jennifer: I know. She looks like she's been crying.

Daniel: Yeah. Yeah, she and, uh--and--and Eric--they've been through a lot together, but I'll--I'll talk to you about that. But what I really want is for our first time together to be as... I want it to be special, and so I'm making a decision to talk to Nicole for you... and me too, not just for her.

Jennifer: Yeah.

Daniel: Parker, he, uh... he's not gonna be home till tomorrow, and I thought maybe our... first night, uh, we could be just us.

Jennifer: Okay. I'm gonna go home and tell my kids that I'm gonna be out tonight.

Daniel: Okay, one more thing before you go--um, you were asking me if my feelings for you had changed through all this stuff.

Jennifer: Yeah, I said horrible things.

Daniel: No, I knew why, and I understood. But nothing could ever change how I feel about you.

Jennifer: Okay. I should probably go before we embarrass ourselves right here in the hallway by the elevator. Okay.

Daniel: All right.

Jennifer: Okay. Okay. Okay.

Daniel: Okay. Yes. Now I'm, yes, officially embarrassed. [Clears throat] [Sighs happily]

Nicole: Yay! [Chuckles] I'm so happy for you. Um... it just proves that things can work out, huh?

Theresa: Wow. Uh... okay, well, if that's what you want, then Nicole is officially off-limits.

Eric: Good.

Theresa: But as far as hooking up with her goes, I'd say the jury's still out on that one.

Eric: Am I supposed to find you disarming?

Theresa: Look, I know. Okay, you're right. I have a big mouth. It's just, look, Eric, I've learned the hard way, okay? It doesn't really pay to be in love.

Eric: Is it supposed to pay?

Theresa: Come on. You're right. I may not know Nicole, but I know people, and they always let you down in the end.

Daniel: Yeah, yeah, it, uh, looks like things are gonna work out with me and Jenn.

Nicole: Yay.

Daniel: Yeah.

[Both chuckle]

Daniel: Yeah, but what about you and Eric? I mean, you seemed upset when you came in here.

Nicole: [Scoffs] It's that obvious, huh? Yeah, I'm, um-- I'm upset and, uh... confused.

Daniel: Do you want to talk about it?

Nicole: I can tell you anything, right?

Daniel: Well, after everything we've been through together, yeah, anything.

Nicole: Okay. And you know all about me-- the--the good, the bad, the... ugly.

Daniel: What is it? What is it? What's going on?

Nicole: I'm just not sure I'm doing the right thing, and I really need your help. I am confused. Everything happened so quickly.

Daniel: Yeah, yeah, I can see that it's confusing. I mean, you fought so hard so that Eric could be a priest again. And now he's just giving it-- giving it up, and... am I right? I mean, the two of you are-- I mean, you're moving ahead... right?

Nicole: I think so.

Daniel: Well, if you don't know, who does? I mean, this isn't about Chyka getting away, is it? 'Cause you did everything you could. I mean, you--God knows you put-- you put it all on the line for Eric more than once.

Nicole: About Chyka, um... he got away--

Daniel: Okay, and it's not right. It's just not right. And is it really important now that Eric decided to leave the priesthood? I mean, maybe, maybe... I don't know--maybe it was meant to be, and maybe... you should just accept being happy and...

Nicole: It's just...

Daniel: What is it? Tell me.

[Knock at door]

Eric: Daniel, hey, I was--

Sami: You're smiling.

EJ: [Chuckles]

Sami: Does that mean you've changed your mind about walking out? [Chuckles] Does that mean I can stop groveling now?

EJ: You weren't groveling. You were just apologizing sincerely for... saying something a little thoughtlessly.

Sami: [Chuckles] 'Cause you're so fragile and all.

EJ: [Chuckles] I am very glad that we've resolved the ketchup issue. I never know what's coming or going with you. You astonish me.

Sami: Well, I'm glad. It feels like we got almost everything settled, like... there's, um... nothing to talk about anymore.

EJ: I love it when there is nothing left to talk about.

Sami: [Chuckles]

Victor: Don't you think I'd tell you if I was having him followed?

Maggie: Like you told me what you were up to when you gave Marlena that video?

Brady: Well, there was a hitch in the China deal, but, uh, I worked through it. Everything's fine now. Please, don't--don't thank me or anything.

Victor: Thank you, Brady, for doing your damn job. I hope it didn't cut into your drinking time.

Maggie: [Sighs]

Brady: So, um, he did have me followed, didn't he? Tell me the truth.

Maggie: Brady, we don't have to have you followed to know that you're drinking. Following you doesn't do any good anyway. Everyone knows that you have to find your own bottom.

Brady: Oh, God, would you stop? Stop it with the implications. I'm sick of them. I'm not hitting bottom. I haven't touched cocaine since the beginning of the new year. I had a couple drinks, a couple drinks. It's not a big deal.

Maggie: No? And it's not even lunchtime yet.

Brady: Go to hell, Maggie.

Daniel: Well, it looks like you two have stuff to talk about, and, um... I, uh--I got stuff to do. So I will see you later.

Eric: Thanks.

Daniel: Hey, no problem.

Both: Yeah.

Eric: You look upset, and he thinks we have to talk about something. Did something happen?

Nicole: I, uh...

Eric: Nicole, what's going on? Are you having second thoughts about us?

Nicole: Yes. Yes, I am.

EJ: [Chuckling]

Jennifer: Daniel and I still-- we want to talk some things out, but, uh, we're gonna spend some time together tonight.

Abigail: Mom, that's great.

JJ: It really is.

Jennifer: It is. It is so great. And you know what? You are the one who made all of this happen. Have you talked to your sister about all of this?

JJ: About Theresa? Yeah.

Abigail: Yeah, I didn't know I could hate her more than I already did.

Jennifer: Honey, please, just be careful, 'cause Daniel is still worried that she could do something to your brother, and I'm worried about that too. But I am so happy. And I am not just happy about Daniel. I am happy because you handled this like a man. And you brought our family back together again, and we are closer than ever. We have no secrets, no lies, nothing, ever.

Theresa: We have nothing to say to each other.

Daniel: Oh, the hell we don't.

Nicole: It's just that... I'm afraid.

Eric: Afraid? Afraid of what?

Nicole: That I'm not good enough for you.

Eric: [Sighs] Thank you, Mom. Thank you, Sami. I know that they pulled a real number on you, and the theological term for that is that they're full of it. I just got done telling someone not to say a bad word about you, ever. That goes for you too. And you say you're not good enough for me one more time, and we're gonna have some real problems. [Sighs] My God, just to have you in my arms again.

Nicole: I remember when we were younger... you always saw the good in me. You always made me feel so beautiful when everyone else made me feel so ugly.

Eric: 'Cause you are beautiful... inside and out. And what you've done for me, I don't think I can ever...

Nicole: What?

Eric: It's just that everything feels so... right. I don't want you to feel rushed into anything. I don't want you worrying that being with you was a rebound kind of thing.

Nicole: But I should worry, right? I mean... this wasn't a real choice. Would you choose me if you still had a chance of being a priest? Would you?

Daniel: I'm here to tell you this in person. Jennifer and I are getting back together.

Theresa: Oh, big whoop. I'll alert the media.

Daniel: No, you will do nothing. As I've said before, but you seem to have a problem with retention... you hurt Jennifer, JJ, or Abigail... and I will destroy you. See, right here is where you would have died had I not shown up. Don't make me regret saving your ass.

JJ: No secrets and no lies-- that's a big change of pace.

Jennifer: [Laughs]

JJ: But I'll do my best.

Jennifer: Ooh, I love you. I am not kidding about this, though. I think that all three of us have proven we can trust each other.

Abigail: You know, I just remembered I have to make a-a quick phone call, so I'll be back.

JJ: I think you need to talk to her.

Jennifer: Yeah, she's still not okay?

JJ: I-I don't know, but she hates talking to me.

Jennifer: Honey, that's not true.

JJ: About personal stuff... unless, of course, it's my personal stuff. Anyway, I think that she needs you. But don't tell her that I said anything. I don't have to tell you that, do I?

Jennifer: No, you don't. But I love that you are thinking about your sister.

JJ: It's kind of cool not to be the one you're worried about.

Jennifer: [Laughs]

JJ: I got to go.

Jennifer: Where are you going?

JJ: Errands-- drug-free, personally enriching errands.

Jennifer: Yes, I love the sound of that.

JJ: All right, I'll see you, Mom.

Jennifer: I love you. [Sighs happily]

Sami: You know, I think I'm gonna have to come up with some new ways to, um, astonish you.

EJ: [Laughs] You don't have to come up with any new ways. It comes naturally to you. Samantha?

Sami: Hmm? What?

EJ: I want you to know that I'm very sorry about what happened to Eric... not just because he's your brother and you love him... because he's a good man, and he didn't deserve what happened to him.

Sami: Now you've astonished me. Thank you for saying that. Thank you for... waiting for me the whole time I kept you out of this bed... being patient with me. A lot of men wouldn't have been so patient.

[Phone vibrates]

Sami: Hmm. Is that yours or mine?

EJ: Hmm?

Sami: Hmm, should we answer it?

Brady: [Sighs] Ah, drinking is not what you need to be doing right now, Brady. You got better things to do. Like what?

Eric: Since when did Nicole Walker ask hypothetical questions? The way I feel about you right now... it's so real. And I have no doubts at all.

Nicole: My feelings for you are real too.

Eric: You see how nicely that worked out?

Nicole: [Chuckles] But you still didn't answer my question.

Eric: Well, I answered it. Now that we have that settled, why don't we work on making that date happen now?

Nicole: Okay, how about tonight? Because I am pretty sure Daniel and Jennifer don't want company.

Eric: [Chuckles] Tonight it is.

Nicole: So... what do I wear?

Eric: Well, it's league night, so I was thinking about a satin bowling-league shirt and, uh, Capri pants.

Nicole: We're going bowling?

Eric: It was a joke.

Nicole: You don't joke.

Eric: I do too.

Nicole: No, you don't.

Eric: When I'm happy, I do. I'm really--I'm really happy.

Nicole: And I'll make sure you stay that way. [Smooches] I promise.

Eric: If you can just lighten up a little bit on this date-- I mean, we're not addressing the UN.

Nicole: [Chuckles] Ha ha ha.

Eric: [Sighs]

Sami: [Laughs] Oh, that's mine. Oh.

EJ: Who is it?

Sami: It's, um, Ciara. She's insisting that I take her shopping for those earrings I promised her.

EJ: That's very brazen of her.

Sami: Oh, poor kid. She probably wants to spend time shopping with me as much as she wants those earrings, you know?

EJ: [Chuckles]

Sami: "Meet in the town square in an hour." You're welcome to join us.

EJ: I'll pass.

Sami: We should fight like this more often. Hey, I just thought of something I want to ask you. How about a May wedding?

EJ: That came out of nowhere.

Sami: If you don't want to--

EJ: No, no, no, no, no. No, if--if a May wedding is going to make you happy, we're having a May wedding, okay? We're getting married in May.

Abigail: Mom, shouldn't you be getting ready for your date tonight?

Jennifer: Hey, honey. I actually wanted to make sure that you were all right.

Abigail: Yes, I'm fine. JJ has a--has a big mouth and an overactive imagination. I don't want you to worry about me, okay?

Jennifer: Okay, well, that is not your call. And one day when you are a mother, you're gonna understand the old saying that "You're only as happy as your unhappiest child."

Abigail: Then you should be really happy because JJ and I both are. Mom, I don't want you to worry about us tonight, okay? Just focus on Daniel.

JJ: Daniel.

Daniel: Hey, JJ.

JJ: Those are my mom's favorite.

Daniel: What? Oh, I didn't--I didn't know that. Wow.

JJ: Hey, man, my mom told us about tonight. I think it's great... really.

Daniel: Uh, thank you. Thank you. And by the way, you've been thanking me a lot lately, so I, um... think I owe you a big thank-you. Thank you.

Victor: [Sighs]

[Cell phone rings]

Victor: Yes? Yes, he was here.

[Cell phone rings]

Theresa: What?

Brady: It's me.

Theresa: Oh, hi, Brady.

Brady: Hi. Listen, I was wondering if you'd like to hang out later.

Theresa: Sure. Sounds good.

Brady: Great. We can go wherever you want. I just--I don't want to go back to that club.

Theresa: Okay, well, why don't you just come over to my place, then?

Brady: Good idea. I'll see you later.

Nicole: Well, I talked to Miles, and I told him there's no way in hell I'm working late tonight.

Eric: What is all this?
