Eric: Do you have a lead on Chyka?

Hope: I do have some news.

Daniel: You found Chyka? Is he talking?

Hope: Homeland security tracked Chyka using facial recognition software.

Daniel: That's great. That--

Hope: Yeah, they think they know where he is.

Will: I really appreciate it, Gabi. I'll text you as soon as it's okay to come back to the apartment. Thank you again. [Sighs] Should be getting there right about now.

Terry: This just came for you, Sonny.

Sonny: Oh, well, thank you, Terry. There's no card. Hey, Terry? Can you finish these invoices? I gotta be somewhere.

Terry: Yeah, you got it.

Abigail: Hey, how you doing?

JJ: [Gasps]

Abigail: Whoa, nervous much?

JJ: Wouldn't you be?

Abigail: Yeah, absolutely. But last night, you were Mr. Confident.

JJ: Last night, I wasn't going to face a judge and be sentenced. Today I am.

Abigail: JJ, you're gonna be fine, okay? The judge said himself that, if you kept your nose clean, that you'd just get probation, right? So you have nothing to worry about, okay? There. Well, better than what you did.

Theresa: I could've had that. Then JJ screwed me over. God--

Brady: Hi.

Theresa: Hey. Um, Brady, look, sorry, but I'm kind of in a rush.

Brady: Yeah, Theresa, you know what? I know what you're doing, and you really need to let it go.

Daniel: That's--that's fantastic. Now how soon can they make an arrest?

Hope: Well, that's the problem. He entered Morocco on a flight from Paris using a different passport. Now assuming the police can find him and arrest him, the problem? We don't have an extradition treaty with Morocco.

Daniel: Which means they won't send him back to stand trial.

Hope: Bingo.

Eric: And I'll never be able to clear my name.

Daniel: Now, hold on, hold on, hold on. Just hang on a second. 'Cause I still think there's a way here.

Jennifer: And this is JJ.

Aiden: Oh, my pleasure. Nice to meet you.

JJ: You too.

Jennifer: Justin Kiriakis speaks very highly of you.

Abigail: Yeah, he does. I mean, otherwise, you wouldn't be representing JJ, right?

Aiden: Well, I've got nothing but respect for Justin, believe me. So how you feeling, JJ?

JJ: Nervous.

Aiden: Well, that's all right. It's understandable. Well, look, today should be pretty much pro forma. Okay, there has been one small hiccup though.

JJ: What?

Aiden: A letter came in to the judge last night. It was pretty negative, saying that you don't deserve a break, you shouldn't be trusted, things like that.

Jennifer: What? Who would do that?

Theresa: You have no idea--

Brady: Right, I know, I know I have no idea because I'm rich and I have no idea what it's like to want expensive things, right? But seriously, that?

Theresa: Oh.

Brady: That?

Theresa: Yeah, well, in case you care, that's not just any purse.

Brady: I'm supposed to be impressed by that?

Theresa: Yeah, very. It's a limited edition. I mean, all I can do is dream about owning it.

Brady: Well--well, good things come to those who wait, right?

Theresa: Oh, please don't start rattling off the clichés again.

Brady: I like the cliché game. I got many more where those came from if you're interested.

Theresa: Oh, well, maybe I can hear them later. I could maybe stop by Daniel's place.

Brady: Oh, no. I'm not gonna be there, actually. Daniel is back. I'm not staying there anymore.

Theresa: Daniel's back?

Brady: Mm-hmm. He got back this morning.

Daniel: Well, yeah, so he essentially admitted everything. We got it on video. He developed the drugs for Kristen to use and he knew when she used 'em. Actually, he has more drugs.

Eric: But he didn't tell you where to find 'em.

Daniel: Well, now, he was about to until his hired gun showed up. The guy tried to make sure none of us could ever talk again. Once I fought him off, I thought it was smart to get him out of there before he was--

Eric: So you took him to the train station.

Daniel: Yeah, I did, quickly as we could, but I don't-- Nicole, did Chyka say anything after I left? Did he give you anything we could use?

Nicole: [Gasps] Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, yes. These are the files. These are the files on Eric and the drug cocktails. This is it. Oh this is great, 'cause there is so much stuff here to clear Eric's name.

Daniel: Nicole, did Chyka give you anything that we could use?

Nicole: Uh, no. Uh, I'm sorry.

Daniel: Okay. All right. That's all right. Here's what we're gonna do. We're gonna go to Chyka's hideout and we're gonna search that place top to bottom.

Hope: Not gonna happen. The police are there right now, and apparently someone beat them to it. The place was stripped and wiped clean. So if there is any evidence at all to implicate Chyka or clear Eric's name, it's obviously not there.

[Door creaks]

Sonny: Will? You're wearing the shirt I gave you for Christmas.

Will: I told you I'd save it for special occasions.

Sonny: So Valentine's Day made the cut?

Will: Well, this is more than just Valentine's Day.

JJ: Who sent the judge that letter. Do you know?

Aiden: The owner of the store where you were caught shoplifting.

Abigail: What did she say? Did she say that she changed her mind about pressing charges?

Aiden: Uh, no, no. She, uh--she just wanted to express to the judge that she doesn't think JJ should get off scot free. She suggested community service, which actually is right in line with what the judge is thinking anyway, so--

Jennifer: Oh, thank God. That's great.

Abigail: You're gonna be fine, okay? Just hang in there.

Jennifer: Hey, you guys. Can I have a minute, please, with Mr. Jennings?

JJ: Yeah, I'm gonna head on over to the courthouse anyway. I can't wait around here anymore.

Abigail: I'll go with you.

Jennifer: All right, we'll be there in a few minutes, okay?

Abigail: Okay.

Jennifer: Mr. Jennings, I need you to be honest with me. Is there a chance that my son could go to prison? Because I'm telling you, if I walk out of that courtroom today without my son, I don't know what I'm gonna do.

Maggie: I love, love that museum. They have such nice presentations and--and so many on the new works. And it was very romantic of you to take me there on Valentine's Day. Thank you.

Victor: It had nothing to do with romance, woman. I just had my tasters up for those soft pretzels they have in the cafe.

Maggie: Yeah, well, if you say so. I wish I could stay here with you and relax, but I--

Victor: I know, you have to go to court and hold Jennifer's hand.

Maggie: Do you think the judge is gonna come down on him too hard?

Victor: Goldberg?

Maggie: Mm-hmm.

Victor: I've played poker with him. He's sort of a tight-ass. Hard to read.

Maggie: Mm.

Victor: But good luck. I have a meeting with Brady-- some Titan business.

Maggie: Victor, if you have a chance, talk to him about checking into rehab. Oh, please? Please?

Theresa: Well, as much as I'd love to stick around and hear more clichés, I gotta run.

Brady: All right. I'll see you around.

Theresa: Sure. Not at Daniel's though, huh? Guess we'll need to find a new place to drink in secret.

Brady: I don't need to hide my drinking. I just like my privacy.

Theresa: Okay, don't worry. I can keep a secret.

Brady: I don't ne--it's not a secret.

Eric: I'm gonna step out a sec, give Father Matt an update.

Hope: I'm afraid Eric's gonna come up empty again. No one has any evidence. Listen, uh, Nicole, I need to talk to you.

Nicole: I really need to take a shower and get ready for work, so maybe later.

Daniel: Hope, I know you're really ticked off, and yeah, we shouldn't have gone off like that on our own. But if charges are gonna be filed, this was completely my idea. Nicole has a record. She could go to prison if she gets charged, and all through this, her heart, it was--it was just in the right place.

Eric: I've asked to be released from my vows.

Nicole: What? No, wait, but Daniel and I have to t--

Eric: I'm in love with you, Nicole. God willing, I just wanna spend the rest of my life with you.

Nicole: If I show him this, it changes everything. But...is that what I should do?

Sonny: Baby, you put so much time and effort into this. It's so amazing. I feel like my gift is gonna be lame now.

Will: I'll love it. Hand it over.

Sonny: Okay. But just so you know, this is more of a token.

Will: Hand it over, Kiriakis.

Sonny: Happy Valentine's Day.

Will: Thank you.

Sonny: Open it up, open it up, open it up.

Will: I'm--I'm opening.

Sonny: [Laughs]

Will: E. M. Forster.

Sonny: Yeah, now that you're writing, I thought that you would like it.

Will: He wrote Passage to India. I've never read Maurice.

Sonny: It's actually pronounced "Morris." It's a gay love story about a guy named Maurice who knew that he was gay from his early teens. And Forster wrote this in 1913, but it didn't get published till the '70s after he was dead.

Will: 'Cause it was about a gay man.

Sonny: Mm-hmm. Being gay was illegal back then in Britain. And people would actually get sent to prison because of it.

Will: Yeah. I read Reading Gaol.

Sonny: We're lucky, you know? People are a lot more accepting nowadays.

Will: In some places. Sonny, this is such a cool gift. I love it. I'm gonna start reading it right away. Thank you.

Sonny: I'm glad you like it.

Will: Oh. I, uh--I almost forgot. Um, there's actually another page for the photo album.

Sonny: Okay.

Will: Yeah.

Sonny: "February 14, 2014. The day Will finally wised up and said... yes to Sonny."

Hope: You know what, I'm just gonna state the obvious again. What you and Nicole did was illegal. I mean, we've got unlawful imprisonment, assault, kidnapping, failure to report a criminal act--

[Phone rings]

Hope: Sorry. Give me a minute. I'm sure I can add to that list. Brady, what's up? Yep.

Daniel: You know, 24 hours ago, I thought we had the mother lode and you were gonna have everything...

Eric: I know.

Daniel: You needed. And now I just--

Eric: Daniel, I know. And I'm always gonna be grateful for what you did. You know, from day one, you've always been on my side. You've gone out of your way so many times.

Daniel: Yeah, and what? Accomplished nothing. This last little stunt we pulled--I mean, I don't know. Maybe we should have brought the police in. I don't know.

Eric: Daniel, don't. Don't blame yourself sometimes--sometimes we just gotta accept God's plan.

Daniel: Yeah. Well, maybe you can.

Eric: I can. You know, I've had a lot of time to reflect these past few weeks, and just yesterday I had a major revelation --

Nicole: Hey. I have to go buy a new phone and then get to work, but I need to talk to you about something important. You got a minute?

Eric: Yeah, sure.

Nicole: Okay.

Aiden: Hey, believe me. I understand your fear. I have a son myself, okay? But I truly doubt that there's anything to worry about. I mean, Justin struck a terrific deal with the DA. There is no reason the judge won't accept it.

Jennifer: Okay, that's great. Thank you, Mr. Jennings. I-I feel better.

Aiden: Good. And there is something that you can do that would make me feel much better. Stop calling me Mr. Jennings, okay? That was my father.

Jennifer: I'm sorry.

Aiden: Yeah, okay.

Jennifer: Aiden, I am sorry. But, um, thank you so much.

Aiden: All right. Well, let's go get this over with, huh?

Jennifer: Yeah, okay.

Aiden: Okay.

Abigail: Abe, hi.

Abe: Hey, Abigail. JJ. How are you?

JJ: Okay, I guess. A little nervous.

Abe: Yeah, of course. You know, if you don't mind, I'm gonna stick around for the sentencing--let Judge Goldberg know you've got people in your corner.

JJ: Thanks.

Abe: You know, your dad would be really proud of you. That you worked so hard to turn your life around.

Abigail: Yeah, he has.

Abe: Uh, my guess is everything is going to be fine. So you hang in there, huh?

[Phone rings]

JJ: Thank you.

Abe: Oh, excuse me. Be back.

Abigail: Bye. How you doing? Got butterflies in your stomach?

JJ: More like firecrackers.

Abigail: Can I get you anything, or...?

JJ: A bottle of water.

Abigail: Sure, yeah. Okay. Yeah, I'll be right back.

JJ: [Sighs]

Theresa: Brings back old times, huh?

Sonny: So...yes means?

Will: Yes. Yes to you. Yes to you and me.

Sonny: Oh, my God. No, no. Wait, wait.

Will: What do you mean, "No?"

Sonny: No, I don't mean no. I mean yes. It's just that you--you said that you wanted to wait and you wanted to wait for everything to be right.

Will: I was just so worried about all this baggage that I was dragging with me. You know, this whole Nick thing and my mom always getting into trouble and Stefano stealing that evidence from the cops and I'm still in school--I mean, the list is endless. But I realized that if we keep waiting for these things to get taken care of then--

Sonny: It might never happen.

Will: And we would have wasted so much time trying to fix things that weren't fixable. So, um, if the offer still stands?

Sonny: Uh, let me think about it. Of course it still stands.

Will: Wow, um... Sonny Kiriakis, I would love to marry you.

Victor: You know, I think throwing rehab in Brady's face might be a mistake.

Maggie: If you could just point out th--

Victor: He's living in the corporate suites. He's got cameras on him 24/7. There's been no signs of problems of any kind.

Maggie: Victor, he's an addict. He's using alcohol as a substitute for cocaine and he's not getting the help that he needs. Now, if we don't talk him into going to rehab, there is only one way this is gonna end.

Victor: All right, I'll keep a sharp eye on him. I think he's handling everything quite well. I mean, one glass of wine, really.

Maggie: Addicts can be very deceptive when they want to be.

Victor: Will you give it a rest? I know what I'm doing.

Maggie: I hope so. Brady's life depends on it.

Nicole: We finally got something concrete.

Brady: Yeah, you know, I-- that's okay. I don't--I don't have time to hear it, actually. I don't wanna hear it, but I'll--

Nicole: [Stammers] Hey, what's wrong with you?

Brady: I gotta go.

Nicole: I'm trying to tell you something about Eric.

Brady: Listen, listen. I don't wanna hear about it. I'm happy that you and Eric made it out of that basement alive. I truly am. But when I hear the word "Eric," I think Kristen. When I think Kristen, I wanna get sick to my stomach. Clear?

Nicole: Uh, crystal.

Eric: Actually, maybe I should just walk out with you, and then we can talk along the way, and then I can go see Father Matt. Daniel, thank you. Thank you again for everything.

Daniel: Yeah, well, it's not over. I'm not giving up here. The evidence is out there and we--we are gonna find it.

Hope: Nicole, seriously, I need to get a statement from you.

Nicole: Okay.

Daniel: Hey, Hope, I mean it. If anybody gets charged for this, it's gonna be me, okay?

Hope: Daniel, relax, okay? With Chyka gone, there's not even anyone to press charges.

Daniel: Well, that's--that's good to know.

Hope: Uh-huh. But don't forget. And I know you were trying to help Eric, but next time you get a lead, you call me, okay? Pick up the phone and call me.

Daniel: Sure, you got it.

Hope: Good, all right, I need to get to the courthou--

Daniel: Uh, wait, wait. Wait, can I just ask you for one favor?

JJ: What are you doing here?

Theresa: Oh, well, I had to come by and pay a parking ticket, so since I knew your sentencing was today, I thought I'd come by and wish you good luck. What? You think I'm here to cause trouble?

JJ: I hope not, because if you are, you'll be heading back to California tonight in handcuffs. What's the name of the prison they'll put you in?

Theresa: Oh, God. Relax, Jackie. Look, I lost, you won. I'm still trying to get over it.

JJ: Try a little harder on your way out.

Abigail: What the hell are you doing here?

Theresa: Wishing your baby brother good luck. Maybe we'll both get what we want today.

Brady: We're gonna blow away the competition this year. Count on it.

Victor: I already am.

Brady: All right. It's time to celebrate then. Work's over. Dry Martini, right? As dry as they come.

Victor: Don't you think it's a little early?

Brady: Oh, no, not for this guy. Besides, as I recall, when you had your Martini was never as important as how dry it was. Is there a problem?

Nicole: I'm just saying wait, okay? Because back at the apartment, you almost told Daniel that you were leaving the priesthood.

Eric: I just don't understand why that would upset you.

Nicole: Well, what if the police bring in Chyka or evidence shows up? Just don't jump the gun.

Eric: The chances of that happening, Nicole, are slim to none. Besides, I've already spoken with Father Matt and the bishop.

Nicole: Well, you didn't put anything in writing, did you?

Eric: No. No, not yet.

Nicole: Okay, so just back off a little bit, all right? Think about it. It--we could--I mean... maybe we should just take a little time to...re-evaluate.

Daniel: Uh, look, I know JJ's probation hearing is today.

Hope: Right.

Daniel: Hasn't even started.

Hope: Which is why I need to get--get over there.

Daniel: Yeah.

Hope: Let me guess, you want a report.

Daniel: I'd appreciate it, yeah. I'm sure everything's gonna work out.

Hope: Right, but you just wanna know for sure. And you don't think you should contact Jenn.

Daniel: What, am I that easy to read?

Hope: Oh, yeah. You still love her.

Daniel: I just--I just wanna do what's best for her and JJ.

Hope: You know, it seems that you're always trying to make everyone else happy. Eric, Nicole, Jenn, of course. Maybe someday, you can make yourself happy. You deserve that, Daniel. I'll text you a report.

Aiden: I trust everything is in order, Your Honor?

Goldberg: Seems to be. Mr. Deveraux, did you know that shoplifting by teenagers here in Salem was up 14% this year? Never mind, you don't have to answer. My point is, while you may not have been involved in any of the recent crime sprees, I'm beginning to think that an example needs to be set. A message to teens citywide.

Aiden: [Clears throat] Your Honor, under certain circumstances, I'd say your inclination to set an example might have some merit, but this deal was struck some time ago with the district attorney. You yourself have approved it, so I can't see how breaking one's word would set a good example. Can you?

Goldberg: I'll admit Mr. Deveraux appears to have abided by the terms, but a couple of months of good behavior--at least, not getting caught--hardly much of an achievement. Stand up, young man. What do you have to say for yourself?

Sonny: You know what I was thinking?

Will: That I should have said "yes" the first day?

Sonny: I was thinking this is the best day of my life.

Will: Really?

Sonny: Yeah.

Will: Even better than when you got to the top of K2?

Sonny: Hell yeah. Actually, this is my second-best day. Not that I don't love you, and you're the most important person in my life, but this is the second-best day, because the best day of my life was when Ari was born. Holding her in my arms and watching her come to life? There will never be anything like that.

Will: Well, just think. Once we're married, you will be her stepdad.

Sonny: We'll officially be a family. Did you tell Gabi about this?

Will: No.

Sonny: No? Well, how do you think she's gonna react?

Will: She'll be fine with it. I mean, she has to be. You guys have worked everything out, right?

Sonny: Yeah, yeah. And nothing's really gonna change for her, you know? She'll still live here. She'll still have Ari.

Will: We'll all have Ari.

Sonny: Right.

Will: What?

Sonny: Hmm.

Will: What? What's wrong?

Sonny: I just have to ask.

Will: Ask.

Sonny: Are you sure this isn't just, you know, getting carried away on Valentine's Day?

Will: [Laughs] Absolutely not. I have been thinking about this since the day you asked. And marrying you, it's just-- it's right. In fact, you know what? Let's get married today.

Victor: No, there's no problem. You have what you like, Brady. You've earned it.

Brady: Thank you. Why are you looking at me like that?

Victor: That's your drink for today.

Brady: I'm sorry?

Victor: If it's no problem, then that's it. You've had your drink for today.

Brady: [Laughs] I don't believe this. You don't trust me, do you? Still?

Victor: Should I? It's 10:30 in the morning. You just threw down 3 ounces of 80 proof.

Brady: Granddad, come on-- I don't--I don't need this. I don't believe you.

Victor: Where are you going?

Brady: Work's done.

Victor: Oh, no. We still have work to do.

[Door opens, closes]

Eric: Re-evaluate? Is--that's what you're doing? Do you want us to just kind of--

Nicole: No, no, no. It's just that... I love you. You know that I do. But if--if the evidence appears, just don't rush it, okay? That's all I'm saying.

Eric: Nicole, this isn't a rush decision. I sat in that monastery and I decided, I debated, and I started all over again. This--this right here, this is real. This is what--this is what I feel.

Nicole: Okay, but now you know the name of the man who made the poison that Kristen used.

Eric: And what does that mean? It means nothing without evidence. Where's the evidence? Where? It's gone. And Dr. Chyka, he's in Morocco now and so it's likely we'll never see him again. So unless I find something that can change that, I need to start moving on with my life.

Nicole: Well, maybe--maybe you just wait a little.

Eric: No, no, no, no.

Nicole: You know? Things will get better.

Eric: No, because I have caused way too much pain for you and for the church. You've given up and sacrificed so much for way too long. You're never selfish. You're always thinking of only me.

JJ: Your Honor, I have made a lot of mistakes since I came home from England... and I kind of understand where you're coming from when you think that I'm getting off easy. But--but see. I know something in here, and I have learned my lesson. My life has taken this total 180-degree turn, and I'm not bragging. I made it because of my mom, my sister, and my whole family. They never gave up on me. They probably should have, but they didn't. And if I can get the chance, I'm gonna try somehow to pay them back by not screwing up and by making sure that something like this will never happen again. I love them. I love every one of them. They're really what's important. And if you'd give me a chance--

Goldberg: All right, that's enough speechifying. Remain standing. I'm ready to pass sentence.

Sonny: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Slow down.

Will: What?

Sonny: This is marriage. That means we gotta do it right. Family, friends, fantastic ceremony.

Will: [Laughs] I know. You're right. I was...mostly joking. But no long engagement.

Sonny: What, like your mom and EJ?

Will: Not even half that long.

Sonny: Do you think they're gonna be supportive? Your family?

Will: Yeah. I do. What about yours?

Sonny: Well, my dad will be. My brothers will be. My mom, hmm, not so much.

Will: [Laughs]

Sonny: But, you know, we need to start drawing up the guest list, because we're gonna want both sides of our family there.

Both: Except for Nick.

Sonny: Yes. Not Nick.

Will: I hate that guy. Well, there is a lot that we need to start doing.

Sonny: There is. But for now, it can wait.

Will: Mm.

[Lounge music plays]

Terry: One more?

Brady: Nope. I'm good.

Eric: I'm gonna go see Father Matt now. Okay? I'll call you.

Nicole: Wait, wait, wait, wait. You're not--you're not gonna change your mind? Eric, I mean it. In your heart--deep in your heart, no matter what comes up about...Kristen... you don't wanna be a priest, ever?

Eric: There it is again. Your absolute love, caring only about me and my life.

Nicole: Well, um... I'm your friend.

Eric: And I hope we can be much more than that soon. Much, much more than that. I'll call.

Nicole: Okay. Now I definitely need a sign. Is what I'm doing wrong or is it right?

Goldberg: I am wary of giving you a second chance, Mr. Deveraux. Seems to me you've had a whole slew of second chances and you've blown every one of them. However, you have obviously tried to change and you do seem sincere. Therefore, the original plea agreement stands. You're sentenced to one year probation, 100 hours of community service. [Bangs gavel] We're done.

Bailiff: All rise.

Jennifer: [Squeals]

Aiden: Congratulations.

JJ: Thank you.

Aiden: Congratulations.

Jennifer: Thank you, uh, Mr. Jennings--Aiden! Thank you so much.

Abigail: Yeah, thank you.

Jennifer: Thank you.

Maggie: Thank you so much.

[Laughter]

Jennifer: Oh, my gosh, I'm so, so happy for you.

Maggie: Yeah. And what you said about us, what you said about our family--

JJ: I meant it, every word.

Aiden: Quick update, Justin. JJ got the deal. All is well.

Hope: Yeah--oh, oh, jeez!

Aiden: Oh, my goodness.

Hope: Oh, I--

Aiden: Well, glad to see you didn't have a smoothie in your hand.

Hope: How many times do I have to say I'm sorry?

Aiden: Well, maybe one more.

Maggie: Hope, JJ's deal went through.

Hope: Oh, that's fantastic. Oh, thank goodness.

Maggie: Oh, yes, I see you've met Aiden Jennings. He was JJ's lawyer, you know?

Hope: No, I didn't know.

Maggie: Well, things were looking pretty rough in there and Aiden saved the day.

Aiden: Mm.

Abe: If you need anything, call.

Jennifer: I will. Thank you, Abe. Thank you for everything. Mm.

Abe: Your dad is up there smiling. Take care.

JJ: Thank you.

Abigail: Thank-- JJ, it's over.

JJ: Yeah.

Abigail: It's over. You can smile too, you know.

Theresa: Maybe we'll both get what we want today.

Abigail: JJ? What's wrong?

Daniel: [Sighs]

Theresa: Hi. I'm really glad that you're home. We got a lot of stuff--

Daniel: Okay, this isn't a good time. I've got a lot of work to do.

Theresa: All this stuff that's been happening, you know, to me, and I just--I need to get clear on some things.

Daniel: Yeah, well, as I was trying to say--

Theresa: No, don't give me the condescending tone. Now, Daniel. We're gonna do this now.
