Sonny: Will Horton... will you marry me? Can you please say something?

Will: Wow.

Rafe: So I was wondering, why didn't you tell me your friend was in town?

Jordan: Well, I just found out myself.

Rafe: Hmm. She seems pretty nice. And she and Lucas seem pretty comfortable together. Is she gonna work for him?

Jordan: That's the plan, supposedly.

Rafe: Okay. Why do I get the feeling you're not too happy about that?

Kate: So you were saying before Jordan lived in Birmingham, she lived where?

Sheryl: Oh, she-- no, you know what? You can ask her. I-I shouldn't get into it.

Kate: No, of course not. Nor should I.

Lucas: Yeah, I guess I shouldn't either, right?

Kate: [Chuckles] So anyway, if you have any questions at all about the job, feel free to ask.

Sheryl: Actually, I-I just have one. Is the reason that you hired me for this position because I'm the best candidate, or is it because I used to be friends with Jordan Ridgeway?

Abigail: [Sighs]

EJ: Abigail, I think Jack Deveraux would be very proud of his little girl. Actually, let me rephrase that. Your father would be very proud of the young lady you've become.

Theresa: Daniel, I'm sorry, but I think we need to talk about--

Theresa: But I really think we should talk.

Daniel: Okay, good-bye, Theresa.

Theresa: Daniel, we need to talk about the night that I OD'd.

Daniel: Theresa, I think the further you put that night out of your mind, the better. You really should stop worrying about it.

Theresa: Oh, no, I'm not worried. But I'm in AA, and I'm doing my steps. You know, the 12 steps.

Daniel: Yeah, yeah, I'm familiar. Yeah, I am.

Theresa: Well, step number eight is to make amends, and I don't know how to do that if I don't know what I did and who I did it with. So please just tell me everything that happened that night, all of it.

Abigail: Well, now you've seen what it's like when your sister is late for work and she breaks a shoelace.

JJ: Oh, don't give me that. Okay, this is a lot deeper than some shoelace. Something's ripping you up. Okay, talk to me.

Abigail: No, I'm fine, JJ, really. But I am late for work, and now I have to go get different boots.

JJ: All right, Abs, I'm serious. I know something's wrong. You've been really off, like, ever since you got back from Smith Island.

Abigail: What? That's not true.

Kate: Sheryl, I'm going to tell you the same thing I told Jordan. I run a multinational company, I have employees worldwide. And I don't know all of their names, and I don't know who their friends are as well.

Sheryl: I'm sorry. I never should have listened to her. I really hope that this doesn't change anything as far as me working for you.

Kate: No, darling, you're not going to work for me. You're working for Lucas's division, if he hires you.

Jordan: If Sheryl wants the job, I hope she gets it.

Rafe: Well, she must want it. She came all the way from Birmingham to get it. You two are friends, right?

Jordan: We used to be close. Lately not so much.

Rafe: Okay. But if she moves here, maybe you two can fix things, eh? And maybe she can give me the inside scoop as to what you two used to do together down there.

Jordan: Sheryl doesn't know any more about me than you do.

Sonny: Will, come on. You can't be all that surprised. All right, we might have thought that this wasn't gonna happen, but the Supreme Court made the ruling. We can get married right here in Salem. All right, this has been a dream that I've had my entire life. And I want to marry the man that I love. And I met you, we've been together, and I just thought this was the next step. So in case that "Wow" was a "Wow," I am going to ask you again. Will Horton... will you marry me?

Will: No.

Sonny: Wow.

Will: Sonny, I'm sorry.

Sonny: I did not expect that.

Will: Wait, I didn't mean to say no.

Sonny: Well, you didn't mean to say yes.

Will: Well, actually I was going to.

Sonny: But then somehow you say no?

Will: It was what you said.

Sonny: That I want to marry the man that I love?

Will: No, that this is something that you've been dreaming about but you couldn't have before.

Sonny: Until six months ago.

Will: I'm not talking about that. I'm not talking about our right to marry. I'm talking about how you've clearly been dreaming about this for a long time. Long before you met me.

Kate: Well, I'm going to give the two of you some time alone.

Sheryl: Miss Roberts, again, if I said anything to offend you, I am sorry.

Kate: Oh, no, no, no. It would take a lot more than that, and besides, I don't think it was your fault. Okay.

Rafe: Come on. I'll bet Sheryl knows lots of stuff about you, 'cause women tell women stuff that they would never tell men.

Jordan: Okay, it's time for me to go. So are you okay to get back by yourself?

Rafe: Well, yeah, but how are you supposed to get a good night kiss if you don't walk me to my door? Okay.

JJ: I know you got that text from Cameron on New Year's. Or is it about a certain guy named DiMera?

Abigail: Why would you say that?

JJ: Because I know that Chad really hurt you.

Abigail: It's not about Chad. Okay?

JJ: Okay, well, then tell me what's going on.

Abigail: Nothing.

JJ: It's eating you up, Sis.

Abigail: JJ, JJ, nothing is going on, okay? What's going on is my annoying little brother keeps psychoanalyzing me when he doesn't have a clue, okay?

JJ: Well, I'm just trying to help. If you want to pretend everything's fine and cool, then whatever, figure it out your own damn self.

Jennifer: Okay. What's going on with your sister?

JJ: I don't know. Just guess she's in one of her moods.

Jennifer: Try to be easy on her, okay? I think Chad really broke her heart.

JJ: Maybe. Are you okay?

Jennifer: Yes. No, I am not. I just ran into Theresa, and I really wish that I hadn't.

Daniel: Look, I have something extremely urgent here. So we should meet up some other time to talk, okay?

Theresa: Like, for dinner?

Daniel: Yup, dinner, that's great.

Theresa: Awesome. Tonight?

Daniel: Tonight it is. Tonight, but just please make sure you don't talk to anyone else about that night unless we've, you know, had a chance to meet, got it?

Theresa: Got it.

Daniel: Great. Thank you so much.

Theresa: Mm-hmm.

Daniel: Mm-hmm. Great.

Theresa: Text me when and where?

Daniel: Yup, the when and where, sure. But please just remember everything is just between you and me.

Theresa: Right.

Daniel: Yeah, Ted, hey, it's Dr. Jonas. Yeah, is there anything left to do to recover my files? 'Cause I am so, so close to catching this guy who is just dishing out poison.

Nicole: Yeah, there is.

Chyka: Who asked you?

Nicole: You better run while you still have the chance.

Eric: Yeah, if you leave now, you can get away before anyone finds us.

Nicole: We know we're in Daniel Jonas's building. He knows we've been taken by now. And how long do you think it'll take him to find us? He knows you couldn't have taken us both far from the apartment. And the first place he's...

[Door shuts]

Nicole: By George, I think we got it done.

Eric: We actually scared him away.

Nicole: [Sighs]

Eric: [Sighs] Actually, you scared him away. It was a nice job. Almost believed Daniel is on his way.

Nicole: Yeah, I'm--I'm pretty good at making stuff up on the fly.

Eric: Hey. Listen, we gotta get out of here.

Nicole: [Whimpers]

Eric: Let's try to get the phone before he gets back.

Nicole: Okay.

Eric: [Grunts]

Nicole: I can get it.

Eric: [Grunts]

Nicole: Oh, God, come on.

Will: I want to make sure that when we get married, it's not just because we can.

Sonny: Of course not. It's because I love you.

Will: And I love you. And having you propose like that, down on one knee, I just-- my heart was gonna explode.

Sonny: But?

Will: [Sighs] But... I don't want us to get caught up in the moment. And my life, it's--

Sonny: It's our life.

Will: Our life. It's a bit of a mess right now. This thing with Nick--

Sonny: Yeah, I-I know, but I already thought about that, and that's never gonna go away. That's just something we're gonna have to live with for the rest of our lives.

Will: What about Gabi and Ari?

Sonny: Arianna is part of you, and I cannot imagine my life without Ari. And Gabi is part of the deal as long as she wants to be, okay? But say we do wait, and we keep putting it off. We may end up waiting forever. Is that what you want?

Lucas: I am not gonna let the best graphic designer I've seen in years go just because of a minor mix-up.

Sheryl: Wow. [Laughs] Thanks. So does that mean I got the job, or--

Lucas: That means you got the job.

Sheryl: Okay. [Laughs]

Lucas: Yeah, I, um--I look forward to working with you very closely.

Sheryl: Fantastic.

Lucas: Yeah.

Sheryl: So, um, I-I guess I should look for an apartment ASAP, right?

Lucas: Well, just stop by HR tomorrow morning, and they'll hook you up, you know? Really, really help you out with all that.

Sheryl: Wow, great. Thank you so much.

Lucas: My pleasure.

Jordan: Hey.

Lucas: Jordan. How's it going?

Jordan: Fine, thanks. So Rafe says you're one of the good guys.

Lucas: Oh, really, he said that?

Jordan: Yeah.

Lucas: Oh, okay.

Jordan: And if he trusts you, then so do I.

Lucas: That's good to know. What can I do for you?

Jordan: You can tell me exactly why Sheryl Connors is here in Salem.

Rafe: Hey, you.

Kate: Hey!

Rafe: Hi.

Kate: No Jordan?

Rafe: No, she had to leave.

Kate: Ah.

Rafe: Yeah. But I do have a question for you.

Kate: Uh-huh.

Rafe: Who is this Sheryl Connors, hmm? And why does Jordan seem so rattled every time she's around?

Kate: Oh, no. Did Jordan tell you that I hired her for some ulterior, sinister motive?

Rafe: [Laughs] No, no. Did you?

JJ: Theresa's been bothering you?

Jennifer: Mm.

JJ: What did she do now?

Jennifer: You know, I don't want to talk about her, really. I just came home to get a file, and I need to go back to the hospital. But I did want to tell you, I got a text from Justin, and the date for your sentencing hearing will be set tomorrow morning.

JJ: Really?

Jennifer: Yeah, finally.

JJ: Wow.

Jennifer: Yeah, wow! Okay, well I really should get back.

JJ: Okay.

Jennifer: But, honey, listen. Once this hearing is over, I mean, this whole mess is gonna be behind us. It's so great.

JJ: Yeah.

Jennifer: All right, I gotta find my file, maybe in the kitchen. I love you, honey.

Daniel: Everything I had is gone, for good?

Ted: Sorry. I-I wish I could have been more help, but somebody really did a number on you.

Daniel: Son of a-- no, it's okay. Thank you. Thank you for your help. I appreciate it. No, I know you--you've done everything you can. Thank you, Ted.

Eric: [Grunts]

Nicole: Come on, get it. Almost.

Nicole: God, I'm glad I'm not alone. Can't think of anyone I'd rather be tied to a pole with than you.

Will: Hey, I know there's a risk if we wait. Things change all the time. But making this decision together will make us stronger.

Sonny: Okay.

Will: I love you, more than you can ever know.

Will: And I don't want anything to ever come between us.

Sonny: Me neither.

Will: But you have to understand that my mom and dad have been married and married and married and married, and they will probably get married again. Not to each other, thank God. But I want that family tradition to end with them. I'm only gonna get married once. Just once. To you. And then our dreams will come true.

Sonny: You got it.

Lucas: Have a seat.

Jordan: Well, do I get an answer?

Lucas: Well, look, Sheryl told me that you were upset that she was in Salem, and my mom said the same thing. You want to tell me why?

Jordan: Well, no offense, but your mother hasn't exactly been subtle about trying to dig up everything there is on my past.

Lucas: Is there something you need to hide?

Jordan: No. And that's what's so crazy. There's nothing in my past that's worth knowing, believe me.

Kate: Jordan thinks that I hired this woman solely based on the fact that she's from Birmingham and knows her, which is a little bit absurd.

Rafe: Yes, well, unless it's true.

Kate: Really?

Rafe: Mm.

Kate: I hired a fantastic graphic designer because she was looking to relocate, and we snapped her up, and sorry, but that's the end of the story.

Rafe: Okay.

Kate: But it does seem that she had some kind of falling out with this woman. About what, I don't know. Frankly, I really don't care, but I do hope that they kiss and make up, because they're bound to run into each other in this town, you know?

Rafe: Yeah, mm-hmm.

Kate: You take care.

Rafe: You too.

Kate: Excuse me.

Rafe: Mm. [Chuckles]

Theresa: Jennifer. I wanted to make sure you didn't get the wrong impression. I just came by Daniel's place to see him as a friend. Nothing is going on. I mean, okay, he is taking me out to dinner tonight, but it's totally innocent. Everybody's got to eat, right?

Jennifer: Yeah, absolutely. Maybe Nicole can join you.

Theresa: Who?

Jennifer: Oh. If you and Daniel are friends, you must not be very close ones, otherwise you would have heard about his roommate.

Theresa: [Whispers] What?

Daniel: Well, I guess it's time to tell Nicole we're back to square one. Ugh. [Sighs]

[Phone ringing]

Eric: You know, I never should have got you involved in this, or Daniel.

Nicole: [Sighs]

Eric: I know what kind of woman Kristen is, what she's capable of doing.

[Both grunting]

Nicole: Eric, stop. Okay, there's--there's no way you could have known that people would find out what we were doing or that that disgusting doctor would show up.

Eric: I should have known the closer we got to the truth that people were gonna come looking for us, and I-I put you in danger, and that's unforgivable.

Nicole: Eric Brady, there's no way you could have kept me from helping you, even if you tried. I'm serious. Even when my life was nothing but a deep black hole, y-- um, when everyone in this town wished I walked off a cliff, you--you reached out. You believed in me. You supported me. And helping you was just my way of saying, "Back at ya, Padre." So if that means going toe-to-toe with Kristen and her slimy doctor friend, bring it on. If it means being tied up in this dirty, smelly basement, then fine, I'm in.

Eric: You're such a wonderf-- wonderful woman. You know what, the fact is that we're tied up right now and helpless, and I don't think we're gonna get out of this.

Nicole: Not if I have anything to say about it. Come on. Come on, let's get back to work!

Sonny: [Sighs]

Will: [Sighs]

Sonny: You know, for a guy who just got turned down, I am awfully happy.

Will: Me too. It was nice that Gabi gave us this time.

Sonny: You know, I should have thought this whole thing out better, the marriage and proposal.

Will: The way you proposed, you know, getting down on one knee, with commitment, I just-- I mean, wow. And that's what I said, right?

Sonny: Yeah. "Will, say something." "Wow."

Will: [Laughs]

Sonny: "Wow."

Will: I love you. You know, the time when I was trying to figure out who I was and everything felt so wrong, I never imagined I would meet someone who made everything seem perfect.

Lucas: Okay, um, truth is, a headhunter found Sheryl. And she's the most qualified person for the job. That's why she's gonna be hired.

Jordan: And Kate had nothing to do with it?

Lucas: [Clears throat] No, not at all. I mean, she had no idea who she was. She just met her when I was interviewing her, and she didn't know where Sheryl was from or who she knew. I'm really sorry that you're upset by this, I am, but Sheryl seems like a pretty nice person, right?

Jordan: She is.

Lucas: So if you're friends, why aren't you glad that she's moving here?

Jordan: Well, hey, I appreciate you talking to me about this, and I will let you get back to work, so thanks again.

Lucas: All right.

Kate: So do we have a new graphic designer? Did you decide about Sheryl?

Lucas: I've decided that I still hate lying for you, that's what I've decided.

Kate: [Sighs]

Abigail: Okay, the printer will have them to us by morning.

Jennifer: Okay, great.

Abigail: I will take these to the lobby.

Jennifer: Uh, you know, hang on one second, honey. I really want us to finish our talk about EJ. And I know that we promised each other that we would never keep secrets, so I need you to know that I went to see EJ. And you don't even seem surprised by that. And in case you think you've heard the end of this, think again. And if your brother thinks the third time with my daughter is the charm, why don't you consider giving him helpful advice?

Abigail: Well, Mom, I-I knew that you were really upset when you found out about Chad, so-- but to be honest with you, I kind of wish that you would have talked to me before you talked to EJ.

Jennifer: Honey, I understand that you are old enough to fight your own battles, but I have a few years on you when it comes to dealing with DiMeras and what they are capable of.

Abigail: I understand that.

Jennifer: And you know what the amazing thing is, is that EJ didn't even seem to care about what happened to you. All he's concerned with is keeping this a secret from Sami, but that is not gonna happen because I am going to tell her.

Abigail: What, no, Mom, you can't do that. She already knows.

JJ: You're definitely hiding something, Sis. Definitely hiding.

[Phone rings] Hello.

Theresa: My place, now. Get here.

JJ: [Sighs]

Miles: Yeah?

Daniel: Um, Nicole Walker is staying at my place, and she forgot her phone. I just thought she might need it.

Miles: Huh, okay, um, not sure if she's here. Let me--let me go check.

Daniel: Uh, okay.

[Eric and Nicole grunting]

Eric: Hey, all right, just give it a rest. You want to take a break for a minute?

Nicole: No. No, I think I'm making some progress. I just--maybe a different angle.

Eric: I know, maybe you're right.

[Phone ringing]

Eric: Hey, it's my--my phone. Can you--can you see who that is calling?

Nicole: It's Daniel.

[Phone ringing]

Lucas: You know, the fact that you brought Sheryl here to rattle Jordan's cage is gonna come out. It has to.

Kate: Why do you always have to bring doom and gloom to every conversation we have?

Lucas: Secrets come out, Mom. That's what they do. You ought to know that by now.

Kate: Okay, listen to me, we're the only two who know about this, and it's never going to come out.

Lucas: Yeah.

Kate: And if Jordan's secret is as big and as bad as I think it is, no one's ever gonna care about our little secret.

[Phone rings]

Jordan: [Chuckles] Didn't I just kiss you good-bye?

Rafe: Why, yes, you did, and I have very good memories of it, in fact. But I just ran into Kate, and she said that you're upset about Sheryl being in town. Is that true?

Jordan: No, no, no. I already talked to Kate about it. It did seem like a weird coincidence, but I guess it was just me being silly. But good for Sheryl. It looks like she's got the job.

Rafe: Well, yeah, sure. Good for you too, right? Now you have another friend in town. Uh, listen, also, I just got the invitation for my niece's christening, and it's a plus one. Do you think you could be the one?

Jordan: I would love to be your plus one.

Rafe: We'll talk soon then.

Jordan: Bye.

Jennifer: How do you know Sami found out?

Abigail: Because I went to see EJ.

Jennifer: What? After everything that you said, honey--

Abigail: Okay, just listen to me, Mom, all right? Just hear me out. EJ and I are past what happened with Chad because he's been so extremely nice to me about Dad and--and about Daddy's book. And I had a feeling that Aunt Adrienne would say something to you, that she'd seen us together, so I went over there to warn him, but you'd already been there.

Jennifer: Right, that's why you were not surprised when I told you that. But how did Sami know about Chad?

Abigail: Because EJ told her about it. I was standing right there. He was really very open with her.

Jennifer: And she was supportive, right?

Abigail: Of me, yes, but she really laid into him.

Jennifer: Well, good for her.

Abigail: Yeah, um, can we just drop it, Mom? I've got a--

[Phone chirps]

Abigail: Oh. Um, I need to take care of this before payroll closes, so I'll see you soon, okay?

Jennifer: Wait, wait. I just--let me hug you, honey. I love you. I am your mom, and I want what's best for you. I don't mean to butt in.

Abigail: Yeah, I know. It's okay.

Jennifer: But--but the best thing--the very best thing you can do is stay away from anyone named DiMera.

Abigail: Got it.

Jennifer: Okay, I love you.

Abigail: Love you.

JJ: Fast enough for you?

Theresa: First of all, drop the attitude.

JJ: Fine. Second of all?

Theresa: Who the hell is Nicole?

Miles: Hey, sorry, man. Nicole is definitely not here. They say that she left a while ago, actually.

Daniel: Great, thank you.

Miles: Mm-hmm.

Daniel: [Sighs] Come on, Eric. Pick up.

[Phone ringing]

Eric: [Grunts]

Nicole: Get it.

Eric: [Grunts]

Nicole: Oh.

[Beep]

Nicole: Does that mean--

Eric: That means Daniel is looking for me. For us.

[Door opens]

Chyka: I'm very sorry about this, but the time has come for you to say good-bye to each other...forever.
