Episode #12214 ~ Eric humbly apologizes to Nicole, who isn't so forgiving towards him. Sami bluntly kicks EJ out of her bed.

Gabi: I left my purse here for five seconds and you're going through it?

Sonny: No, it fell on the floor when I was grabbing the blanket.

Gabi: Yeah, and that gives you permission to go through my personal papers.

Sonny: I wasn't-- I picked it up off the ground. And again, was that a contract for a modeling agency?

Gabi: That's none of your business, so I think you should just leave it alone. Just let it go, okay? Just leave it alone.

Will: Hey, hey. What--what's going on?

Sami: He knew. EJ knew that Kristen slept with my brother.

EJ: What are you doing with my telephone?

Sami: You son of a bitch.

EJ: What?

Sami: You got a text from Kristen. So she's not dead, unfortunately. How could you? You knew all along that she had slept with my brother? You knew what she did?

Hope: There he is.

Brenda, this is detective Brady. Could you tell her what you told me?

Brady: What? Tell her what?

Brenda told me she saw a woman.

Brady: You did? What did she look like? Do you know where she-- do you know where she went? Does she talk? Where did she go? I need to--

Hope: Step back.

Daniel: If you're not able to face Victor, you're welcome to stay here.

Maggie: Thanks.

Daniel: Yeah, you can sleep in my room, I'll stay right here on the couch.

Maggie: Well, what about the guest room?

Daniel: Nicole is staying there.

Maggie: [Sighs]

Eric: I've been looking for you everywhere. Nicole, I-I need to talk to you.

Nicole: Yeah, um... I need to talk to you too.

Tad: Are you here alone tonight?

Abigail: Actually, I am meeting a friend.

Tad: Mm.

Abigail: Oh, and there she is. If you'll excuse me.

Jordan: Hey, am I late?

Tad: If that is your friend, I'd like to meet her.

Abigail: Later, T. Later.

Sonny: I knocked her purse on the ground by accident and everything spilled on the floor.

Gabi: It's no big deal.

Will: Okay, I thought you guys were getting along while I was gone.

Sonny and Gabi: We were.

Gabi: We are.

Will: Okay. Then let's start over, then. What is really going on with you two?

Brady: Where is the woman that you saw? Where was she? Was she here in the--

Hope: Wait in the car.

Brady: Why would I wait in the car? Kristen's running around. We gotta find her.

Hope: Take it down, or I'll have one of the officers escort you back to the station. First of all, I just want to thank you so much for coming forward and trying to help us. Ma'am, I'm gonna show you a photo. Is this the woman that you saw?

Brenda: Yes. Yes, it is.

Sami: "Thank you for being a loyal brother and keeping my secret about Eric"?

EJ: Samantha, please. Stop overreacting.

Sami: You're a loyal brother? What about my brothers? What about what she did to Eric and Brady? And you knew, and you sat in that church and you did nothing to stop it.

EJ: Samantha, I had no idea--

Sami: That's not what Kristen says. Kristen thanked you for keeping her secret. You knew that she did this horrible, vile thing and you were okay with her being near our children?

EJ: I was working very hard, thank you, to keep this entire situation under control!

Sami: But you love me. And we're getting married, and you want to protect our family. And you chose to protect her. This woman who has made it her mission in life to destroy my family. You knew, and you let her. Knowing that she was hell-bent on... on ruining my brother's life.

EJ: Oh, please. If anybody ruined Eric's life, you can thank your mother.

Maggie: Nicole is staying here. Hmm. You know, I was wondering what you could do to make Jennifer hate you even more.

Daniel: Okay, mom--

Maggie: You're in all this trouble and you have this woman here? Oh, my... okay. Okay, okay. Nicole's in your guest room. So how's that working out for you?

Daniel: She needs a friend. Right now.

Maggie: And you're a good friend. She's lucky to have you. This thing, um... what Victor did to everyone at the church... especially to Eric and Marlena... I'm really not at the top of my game. I'd like the last few days to never have happened.

Daniel: You know he'll do anything to protect his own. Anything, mom.

Maggie: Please don't defend him.

Daniel: That's just a fact.

Maggie: Maybe. Yeah, maybe. And maybe he had to reveal what Kristen did. But he didn't need to make a circus out of it. And he didn't need to make Marlena go through that publicly.

Daniel: Okay, okay, all right. It just seems to me the prime instigator in all of this misery here is Kristen.

Maggie: Yes, maybe. Yes, well, maybe she'll get hers, and maybe she won't. But I can guarantee you Victor will.

Daniel: Okay, is there any merit in pointing out the fact that you still love this man?

Maggie: This is not about love. It's about forgiveness. Sometimes forgiveness is the hardest thing on earth.

Nicole: I'm here for questioning. In case you were wondering. Kristen and I got in a little tiff, which ended in a car chase with me chasing her, and then that ended in kind of a major kaboom, and when that dust all settled, guess what. No Kristen, all gone.

Eric: An accident? Are you all right? Were you hurt?

Nicole: Well, compared to the rest of my week, the car crash was kind of fun. Besides, nothing ventured, nothing gained, right?

Eric: Oh, my God. You really wanted to kill her, didn't you?

Gabi: What's going on? Okay, well, what's going on is that Sonny went through my purse and he saw something--read something--that was private.

Sonny: The name was in block letters, Gabi. I couldn't help but read it.

Will: Read what?

Sonny: I saw it.

Will: Okay, can I please know what we're talking about?

Gabi: You know what, go ahead. Spill. You're gonna tell him the second I leave anyway, so go ahead.

Sonny: Okay, fine. It was a contract. From a modeling agency.

Abigail: So you're here. That's great.

Jordan: You sound surprised. You didn't think I'd show up?

Abigail: Well, I wasn't sure. See, I texted you and another friend of mine, but then my phone died. So I didn't know if either one of you were gonna make it.

Jordan: Surprisingly I was free tonight.

Abigail: That's great, 'cause I'd really like to get to know you better.

Daniel: So, moving off the topic of forgiveness. I now see bringing that up was just a tad bit premature. So what do you say? Want to move in with me and parker?

Maggie: No. No, I can't. This isn't about Nicole. I just--I just... I just need some time alone to think. I'll--I'll make sure Victor's not there, but I need to go home and get some clothes. And I'll check into a hotel.

Daniel: Okay, no you won't. Mom... I'm sorry. I just--I like the two people I love being happy together.

Maggie: You know... I didn't meet Victor on a cruise. We weren't some strangers in the night. I knew who he was. I knew the things he had done.

Daniel: And you thought you could change him.

Maggie: No, not really. I just thought what's there left for him to do?

Daniel: [Laughs] I--wow, I...

Maggie: Who does things like this at his age?

Daniel: You know who does? Victor does.

Maggie: We've had fights. You know, and he's done things. But this is so cruel, Daniel.

Daniel: I don't think he sees it that way. He did what he had to do to protect Brady and to stop Kristen.

Maggie: But what about Eric and Marlena?

Daniel: He didn't set out to hurt them. You know that. But if you're not his people, your feelings are irrelevant.

Maggie: I warned him. You hurt my people, you hurt me.

Daniel: You may be little, but you're scrappy. You told him that?

Maggie: [Laughs]

Daniel: You're tough.

Maggie: I don't feel so tough at the moment.

Daniel: If this alone thing doesn't work out, it is a standing invitation. Oh, and one last thing. Victor is a moron. You're the best thing that's ever happened to him.

Hope: Where did you see her? Was it tonight?

Brenda: She was so pretty.

Brady: Oh, for God's sake. Look, my friend officer Bennett here is gonna make sure you get something to eat, and it's gonna be cold tonight, so how about we get you a nice, warm bed? Brady--

Brady: No, you know, she's-- she's gonna get away.

Hope: She's on foot.

Brady: She's on foot with a phone, hope. She's gonna call EJ, he's gonna help her, let's get the hell outta here.

Hope: No.

Sami: Okay, you know what? We're gonna be clear here. EJ...

EJ: Hmm?

Sami: Your sister drugged my brother and then raped him. And then videotaped it. And you want to talk about what my mother did?

EJ: Okay, I'll concede that probably wasn't the best place to start.

Sami: Don't start on what my mother did ever.

EJ: Fine, I'll put a pin in that, sweetheart. But all of this "being drugged" and the "against my will," that's Eric's story.

Sami: Eric's story is the truth. Because that's what he does. He tells the truth. So why don't you try it, EJ? Why don't you turn around, look me in the eye, and lie to me again? Tell me you didn't know about was happening, tell me you didn't know what your sister did to my brother.

EJ: I'm not going to lie. I knew.

Nicole: Did I deliberately set out to kill Kristen? No. Do I care if she died an excruciating death? No again. But sadly the woman escaped. She's gonna live to see another day, commit another atrocity to blame on someone else. And as for me, I made a statement to your father who has since been called away, but when he comes back I will sign it and I will be free to go.

Eric: Nicole, I hope you know that question was not an accusation.

Nicole: Of course not.

Eric: Nicole, the thing is I've been waiting for this day for so long, finally learning the truth, and now I wish it had never come.

Nicole: Must be rough. The woman that you thought was a friend violated you. Body and soul.

Eric: You know, if I could only go back. When I thought this was only a nightmare or del--or just delusion.

Nicole: If only.

Eric: Nicole, you have to understand. I didn't want to see you because of what Kristen did to me. I wanted to see you because of what I did to you.

Will: Modeling.

Gabi: Yeah, I was, um--I was gonna tell you, but--

Will: Congratulations. That is awesome. That's something that you love to do, right? And that's something you've been trying to get back to doing, right?

Sonny: Is that what you've been so excited about lately?

Gabi: I was flattered because they were the ones that got in touch with me.

Will: Flattered? You're the best. You're beautiful.

Gabi: I can't believe you guys are being so nice about this.

Will: Well, what kind of friend would I be if I wasn't happy when something good happened to you?

Sonny: When do you start?

Gabi: Oh, um, I don't know because I haven't signed it yet.

Will: Okay. Well, if you're thinking about Ari, it's a no brainer. We can cover. Right?

Sonny: Yeah. Yeah. You know how flexible we are with work, and... we'll find a way to make this work, Gabi.

Gabi: Thank you, guys.

Will: You're welcome. Listen, you book a modeling gig, we can totally cover, you know, we can watch Ari and, hey, I might even bring her down to the set and watch you--you know, watch you do your thing.

Gabi: I would have to move to New York.

Nick: I read that in the contract, yeah.

Will: So how come you didn't tell me right away?

Abigail: And so my brother-- basically he had a really rough time when my dad died. But he seems to be coming out of it, which isn't just great for him it's great for my mom too. I mean, she was so worried about him--and I've been talking nonstop about me and my family. I am so sorry. You must be bored to tears.

Jordan: No, word of honor, I'm not. I like hearing about peoples' families, especially ones that seem like they actually love each other.

Abigail: Sometimes.

Jordan: [Laughs]

Abigail: So what about you? What's your family like? What's your story?

Jordan: Well, I... I feel for you and your brother. I lost my dad when I was very young.

Hope: This is a Salem pd investigation. I've let you stick around until now-- Brady. I know what this means to you. But the trail has gone cold, and I can't continue to allow you to break the rules. You need to go.

Brady: No, but I don't want--

Hope: No buts--there's no-- I understand. I know what you've been through. You look like you're on the edge. You need to talk to someone. Maybe Sami or Daniel.

Brady: I don't want to talk to anybody, I just want to find her. I want to find her, that's all.

Hope: Then leave it to the professionals, okay? I promise you I'll keep you posted.

Brady: Hope, no offense, but listen to me, I need--

Hope: No, you listen to me. We're done.

Sami: You knew. You knew that that woman that was gonna marry my stepbrother had raped my twin brother?

EJ: I only knew they had slept together.

Sami: Only. Only that they had slept together. Well, that makes a difference. I thought you loved me! I thought you wanted to marry me!

EJ: I do.

Sami: I can't wait to se the video at that wedding.

EJ: Samantha, I was trying to keep this thing constrained so I could protect, amongst other people, members of your family.

Sami: EJ, it didn't work. I can't believe that you thought it was okay for that whore to marry my brother.

EJ: You take it easy. Your brother loved that whore. Now, you saw her at that church. She was devastated, Samantha. She didn't want this to happen. She didn't want to lose Brady.

Sami: I don't care! I don't give a flying rat's ass what she wanted!

EJ: So she had sex with Eric! She was broken up with Brady, she was having a tough time. Does it really make that much difference?

Sami: She raped him! And she videotaped it!

EJ: That is not the way that she explained it to me. And Eric certainly did not look drugged on that video.

Sami: He would never have sex with your sister. Give me a break!

EJ: Look, she's gone, all right? She's out of town, so you don't need to worry about her, Eric doesn't need to worry about her, Brady doesn't need to worry about her. It's over.

[Glass shatters]

Sami: The hell it is over! This is not over! You let me put this dress on. You let me get made up and go to a wedding? I was supposed to pretend to be happy that Brady and Kristen were getting married? I watched them walk down the aisle and stand in front of Eric! You knew what she had done, and you didn't tell me.

EJ: And what do you think would've happened if I had told you? I mean, you handle things like that so well, Samantha. Instead of your mother screwing this up it would've been you. The only difference being instead of that video appearing on a little screen in the church it would've been on the nighttime news! Only a complete fool would have told you!

Nicole: Here to talk down the disgruntled ex-employee?

Eric: Nicole you--you need to hear that I know what I did was wrong. All these things kept crashing in on me today.

Nicole: Really?

Eric: Nicole, it's not the big, horrible thing that I'm sorry for. It's all the little things that came along the way. It doesn't let me off the hook, though, does it? Nicole... when you told me... that you...

Nicole: That I was in love with you? You can say it, Eric. It's not a secret anymore.

Eric: Yeah, but you swore to me. You swore that you were telling me the truth about what happened that night at the hotel. And I didn't believe you. That's what disgusts me. You know, I was completely and totally wrong about so many things. But most of all I was wrong about you. I mean, how could you ever understand... when I don't?

Nicole: I do understand. I do.

Gabi: Well--thank you.

Sonny: You're welcome.

Will: Oh, thanks.

Gabi: I just--I didn't tell you right away because I didn't know how you'd react.

Will: You got a job that you love, and I'm really happy for you. How else would I react?

Gabi: Well, I mean, there's still a lot to think about.

Sonny: Like what?

Gabi: Oh, like, um-- well, they wanted me to have a lawyer look over the contract.

Sonny: I got a guy. My dad thinks it's fun to read over contracts.

Gabi: No, please, it's okay.

Sonny: No, it's no problem at all. I'm gonna text him right now. He does these all the time. He's done millions of 'em, okay? And I will get you the family discount.

Will: You know, this is a really cool time, I think. We all three have something we're interested in. Besides Ari, you know, of course.

Abigail: How old were you?

Jordan: You know what? Do you mind if we talk about something else? It's just I spend so much time in the hospital and I just want to have a good time tonight.

Abigail: No, totally.

Tad: These drinks are on the house. Hi, my name is tad Stevens. Friends call me T.

Jordan: Nice to meet you.

Tad: Nice to meet you too. So if--hey, if you're new in town, I know Salem probably better than anyone, so I mean--

Abigail: You know, t, I think that you are needed at the bar.

Tad: Sadly, yes. This is not my regular gig. I'm actually just helping friends out. That's the kind of guy I am.

Abigail: [Laughs]

Jordan: He's actually kinda sweet.

Abigail: Sweet and incorrigible.

Jordan: [Chuckles]

Sami: Smooth, EJ, you are always so smooth.

EJ: Well, it may not be smooth, my dear, but it's certainly accurate. Tell you what, let's go back to yesterday morning, shall we? Let's say I came to you and I said, "sorry, sweetheart, bad news, turns out your brother, you know, the anointed one, had sex with my sister." Would you have believed me?

Sami: If you had convinced me.

EJ: Please. We were in bed yesterday morning and you were lying there telling me how much of a better person than you he was. You seriously expect me to believe that of all people you would be on board with me telling you that your brother slept with my sister?

Sami: Stop trying to be a lawyer with me, EJ. You didn't even try to tell me the truth. And that was wrong and unforgiveable.

EJ: Unforgiveable. You're talking about what your brother did to my poor--

Sami: Shut up! Shut up, EJ! You just shut your mouth! Gah!

EJ: Where the hell do you think you're going?

Eric: You understand?

Nicole: More than you know.

[Knocks]

Commissioner Brady is tied up on a case, but he knew you wanted to get home.

Nicole: Okay.

Don't you want to read it?

Nicole: No, I just-- I just want to get out of here.

You're good to go.

Nicole: Thanks.

Eric: Nicole, you said you understood.

Nicole: I do. I understood that you were wrong. I have to go.

Eric: Nicole--

Nicole: Eric, please. Get out of my way.

Gabi: Hey, I'm sorry I'm late.

Abigail: Hey.

Jordan: Oh, hi. You didn't tell me we were meeting Rafe's sister.

Daniel: I really believed--

Hope: I'm gonna record this, okay?

Daniel: Yeah, sure. Eric was poisoned. That there was some kind of masking agent to disguise the original drugging.

Hope: Why does DiMera automatically pop into my head when you say, "masking agent"?

Daniel: I don't know. I'll get you all the medical records you need, but I don't think there's anything in there to be construed as proof. But, hope, I really really don't want that woman to get away with what she had done to Eric. 'Cause it wasn't just that night. He has been going through hell every day after that.

Hope: And you were there for him, you were such a good friend. You stood by him.

Daniel: Yeah, I just thought if we could figure out what happened he'd feel better and move on.

Hope: You're his doctor and you were his friend.

Daniel: Yeah, I was.

Hope: You know what, I'm sorry, I don't mean to interrupt, but I just don't get it. Maybe you can clear this up for me. But time and time again you proved that you're this great guy. So how the heck do you end up hurting Jennifer the way you did?

Brady: I don't know when Kristen's going to resurface, but she will. I wish I could take back all the stupid mistakes I made. Thinking she had changed. Thinking that she wasn't like all the other DiMeras. I know who she is now. And they will find her. She's too evil to die.

Sami: Where I am going, EJ, is none of your business. And for the record... while I am gone you can find another bed to sleep in. Lucky for you there are plenty of empty bedrooms in this house now. Pick one. I don't care. Stay away from mine.

Nicole: Move.

Eric: Nicole, please.

Nicole: Please what? Listen to another heartfelt mea culpa? I know--I heard you say that you were wrong, but are you really truly sorry for what you did to me? I put my hand on a bible and I swore to you that I didn't do anything wrong, but you knew better. You put that collar on and you never do any wrong. You're too good to do anything wrong.

Eric: Nicole, I was horribly wrong.

Nicole: I know you don't want me to be mad. But if I--if I stop being angry I won't be able to get out of bed in the morning. And you want to know what hurts, that you called me a rapist. You didn't come to your senses. You didn't examine your conscience and realize that you were wrong, you needed proof, you needed a video to prove that I'm not the monster that you said I was.

Eric: You're right.

Nicole: I am right. I've been right. [Sobbing] But you want to know the good that has come out of all of this? You don't have to worry about me loving you anymore. Your virtue is safe with me. I defended you to Daniel, you know. Knowing what it feels like to go through that kind of debasement. Not knowing who you are at that moment, not feeling right, and I will tell you something. I mean this from the bottom of my heart. I really hope you find a way to forgive yourself for what you did to me and how you treated me. But if you think telling me you're sorry is gonna give you another chance, you better think again because I know what you want, Eric, and you are not gonna get it, not ever.

Eric: Is right for you.

Nicole: I know. I know you want me to forgive you. You want me to tell you that everything's gonna be okay and we'll be able to make things right, make amends. I know you prize honesty, so here it is. The only way we'll make amends is if I never see you again. So you do whatever you have to do to make peace with yourself. Go be a monk, or go get penance with your bare feet on some pilgrimage, whip yourself. I don't care what you do. You are not the man I thought you were. You are not the priest I thought you were. And I am sure God will forgive you. It's just I never can.

Hope: Don't need to record this.

Daniel: No, you don't. Okay, I had taken an oath that kind of requires me to try to keep people from dying, so I had to take Theresa to the hospital that night. No, I didn't know Jennifer was gonna be there, but even if I had, I would've done exactly the same thing. And I would've done that even if she hadn't broken up with me. Which she has. So this whole good guy status thing is really irrelevant.

Hope: You're right. It's irrelevant.

Daniel: Mm-hmm.

Hope: But I still feel there's a lot more to the story.

Daniel: Don't you have a real case to investigate?

Hope: You don't want to talk about it.

Daniel: No. And I'm not gonna talk about it.

Gabi: You know, actually, I think Rafe is gonna be really happy about this, that you're out and having a good time.

Jordan: Well, it's just I didn't know you were coming, and Rafe's my patient, so...

Gabi: It's no big deal. I mean, he's your friend too and he actually worries about you. He wants to make sure that you're liking Salem and having a good time, so I think this is a good thing. Actually, I didn't know you guys were friends.

Abigail: Well, actually, we just met. But I decided that it is time for me to start getting out with my girlfriends some more. Take my mind off guys.

Gabi: Does that work?

Abigail: It will work, Gabi.

[Laughter]

Abigail: It will. Gabi and I are both newly single, so we are feeling very free and alive.

Gabi: Oh, uh, kind of good news. This modeling agency wants me to start modeling again.

Abigail: That's amazing. Congrats.

Jordan: You're a model? How cool.

Abigail: Proof positive. We do not need a man to succeed.

Gabi: Oh, yeah.

Man: You were a role model for the children of this parish, and now you're a disgrace to the priesthood. If you had any shame--

Sami: Eric, I'm sorry, but he's wrong. I mean, we both know that that's not true.

Eric: Hey.

Sami: I'm sorry. I'm sorry about everything.

Eric: God, I'm so glad you're here. You're the only person that I want to see right now.

Sami: Eric... there's something I have to tell you.

[Glass dings]

EJ: [Sighs] Stop. She doesn't really want to leave. [Sighs] She's just angry. This whole thing will blow over. All right, Kristen. Let's see what sort of a mess you've been making of the business.

Maggie: Well, you know, I was thinking. After such a truly lovely day, maybe a late-night meeting would be in order. You care to join me?

Brady: No. No, but don't worry. I'm a little too angry to drink or use anything at this point. I think the rage I feel for Kristen is gonna--think it's gonna fill me up and see me through.

Maggie: Rage never does that.

Brady: It will for me.

Maggie: Call.

Brady: I will call.

Maggie: If you need me. Listen, don't worry about the time. [Chuckles] I doubt if I'll be doing very much sleeping.

Brady: [Sighs]

Brady: [Sighs] It's Brady black. Listen, the cops are looking for Kristen DiMera, but that's not good enough for me. I want all of titan security. I don't care how many men, I don't care what it costs. I want you to find her. Oh, Kristen. You're not gonna get away with this.

EJ: Kristen, I know you were otherwise engaged, but you made a right mess of this business.

Eric: What is it? Did they find Kristen?

Sami: Um... no. No, they didn't. It's--it's just that EJ--Eric: EJ what?

Sami: EJ and I feel terrible about what happened, and-- and he was the one who sent me here to you, because we both know how important it is for me to say to you that I believe in you. I... I love you. And I believe in you, Eric Brady. I always have. And I always will.

[Footsteps]

Daniel: I was worried about you. Are you--are you okay?

Nicole: No, I'm not okay. And I don't think I'm ever gonna be.
