Episode #11980 ~ Brady Gives Kristen a Special Gift; Daniel Gets Wonderful News

Provided By Suzanne

EJ: Because you've had those numbers for over three days, and I still don't have projections.

Sami: EJ, it's okay.

EJ: Just--listen, I'll tell you what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna check my email in half an hour, okay, and if those numbers aren't there, you'll be finding yourself looking for a job in a very tough economy.

Sami: [Laughs]

EJ: What?

Sami: You--I mean, come on. We are introducing a new lipstick, okay? Lip. Stick. You make it sound like you're negotiating peace in the middle east.

EJ: Don't laugh at your boss, especially not to his face.

Sami: [Laughs] Your problem is that people don't laugh in your face enough. You're missing the joie de vivre.

EJ: Let me tell you something, Samantha. In the cutthroat world of lipstick, there is no place for joie de vivre. Oh. Speaking of the joys of life.

Sami: Yeah, hey, Chad. What's up?

Chad: You know what you want?

Sami: Um, I don't have a lot of time, so just maybe a tea or something?

EJ: Two.

Chad: Uh-huh. Must be busy making all those plans for Gabi.

Sami: Yeah. About that, uh, he was talking about the fact that I have been planning Gabi's wedding. Are you mad?

EJ: No. Why would I be mad?

Hope: Did you get the file I sent?

Rafe: Hey.

Hope: Hey.

Rafe: Actually looking at it right now, but I don't think it's gonna be much help.

Hope: Yeah, they seldom are.

Rafe: Right.

Hope: So, uh-- [Laughs] Your sister, my cousin. Are you as surprised about this as I am?

Rafe: You mean about the wedding, or the baby?

Hope: [Laughs] Both. I guess what I'm asking is: Are you okay with any of this?

Will: Hey. Where did Sonny go?

Gabi: Uh, I didn't wait to find out.

Will: Okay, what's going on?

Gabi: Not much. Sonny just wanted to make sure I knew how much he hated me.

It looks like you beat the odds, dr. Jonas. Your tremors are a thing of the past.

Daniel: Oh, my God.

Kayla: "Oh, my God" is right! You're gonna be a surgeon again! Ahh! You did it!

Daniel: I know--it wasn't me. It was Jennifer. Yeah, and she, uh--she needs to know that.

Jennifer: Ooh. Ahh--

Maggie: Jennifer. Are you okay?

Jennifer: Oh, aunt Maggie, I'm fine. Oof.

Maggie: Well, maybe you should get back in that bed.

Jennifer: No, I am getting out of here today, no matter what.

Maggie: All right, uh, can I drive you home and get you settled in?

Jennifer: No, I'm good. Thank you. I just--I wanna find Daniel, and I just wanna tell him.

Maggie: Tell him what?

Jennifer: That I owe him everything.

Brady: Oh!

Kristen: [Gasps]

John: I think this is for you.

Kristen: Well, this is a surprise.

John: Hope I'm not interrupting, but this is for you.

Kristen: I think I'm supposed to beware of ex-lovers bearing gifts.

John: Mm, not from me. Oddly enough, from Brady.

Maggie: Um, honey, uh, I know you're grateful, but do you think that this is a good idea?

Jennifer: I--do you think Daniel doesn't wanna see me, aunt Maggie?

Maggie: I--I just don't think he would want you running around the hospital looking for him when you are recovering from major surgery.

Jennifer: I'm fine. And thanks to Daniel, I am more than fine. Aunt Maggie, listen to me. I was so afraid. I was so afraid that I had screwed everything up, but he-- he performed that surgery, so that means he could be a surgeon again, and that would be the most important thing in the world to him, right?

Maggie: Jen? Hon, hon.

Jennifer: What?

Maggie: Do you think that you could just slow down for a minute?

Jennifer: No, there's something you're not telling me. Did the tremors come back? Is that what you're trying to--

Maggie: Jennifer, you've got to calm down, okay? I don't know how Daniel is. I was just on my way to see him. He's having tests today, yes. I don't know anything for sure except that Daniel's very confident that the tests are gonna go well.

Jennifer: Okay.

Maggie: Okay?

Jennifer: 'Cause they have to?

Maggie: Yes.

Jennifer: Oh, God, they have to.

Dr. Lewis: You know, every now and then, there are days when you think, "yeah, medical school was worth it."

Kayla: [Laughs] Yeah.

Daniel: Well, Ed, thank you for taking me off the disabled list.

Dr. Lewis: Look at that hand not shake.

Kayla: It's amazing. Can I put him back on the surgery rotation, like, uh, this afternoon?

Dr. Lewis: Why not? If he can do an appendectomy with, uh, what was it, a grapefruit spoon, I'd say he's good to go. Happy slicing.

Kayla: Yeah.

Daniel: Thank you.

Kayla: Wow.

Daniel: It's still a little unreal. I think I'd given up hope somewhere along the line.

Kayla: Really? It didn't look like that to me. Looked like you were working pretty hard.

Daniel: No. No, that was Jennifer.

Jennifer: Okay, so when you see Daniel, can you just tell him--

Maggie: You know what? You know what I think? I think I was wrong, and, you know, I-I hate that.

Jennifer: Wrong about what?

Maggie: I wanted you to stay quiet, and rest, and I can see now that you're not gonna rest until you see for yourself how he's doing.

Jennifer: [Sighs] What do you think? I mean, do you think Daniel wants to see me?

Maggie: Aw, as much as you want to see him.

Kayla: Ah, I gotta get going. Um, listen, I checked Jen's chart, and she's being released today.

Daniel: Really? That--that's great.

Kayla: Yeah, she's bounced back beautifully from that surgery, but I guess you knew that.

Daniel: Yeah. Yeah, she bounced back really well.

Rafe: I know my sister wants me to be happy for her and be accepting of all this. It's just... I don't know if I can.

Hope: Could you fake it?

Rafe: [Laughs]

Hope: Hey, uh, Sami and I are meeting her to talk about the wedding. Maybe, you know, you should join us.

Rafe: Oh, really? Huh. So now I'm supposed to help plan the wedding? Is that--

Hope: I'll say you had to work. Forget it.

Rafe: Nah, you know what? I'll be there. If Sami can put herself out for Gabi, I sure as hell can.

Hope: Sami. You think Sami's doing this for Gabi? You are such a man. [Chuckles]

Sami: So you really aren't mad about me planning Gabi's wedding?

EJ: Uh, no, I'm not. Look, I may be a little bit humorless when it comes to business, but I'm not a complete curmudgeon, Samantha. I think only a complete curmudgeon might object to you planning Gabi's wedding. I mean, she's family to you, isn't she?

Sami: Well, yeah. Still.

EJ: You and I working together is more like a partnership, you know? And I really value that, and I want you to be happy in what we're doing.

Sami: Wow.

EJ: So to that end, if you need to go and take some time to plan a wedding, then you should take some time to plan a wedding.

Sami: Okay. I mean, the truth is the girls, hope and Gabi, were sort of hoping to meet up with me to talk about the wedding this afternoon.

EJ: So what are you waiting for? Go on. Skedaddle. Plan a wedding. Tell Gabi "mazel tov" from me.

Sami: Thank you, EJ. I will tell her that, and, um, the second you get that email about the projections, you let me know, okay, 'cause we can go over all of it, and I'll come back to work. Thank you so much.

EJ: You're welcome, my dear.

Sami: Thank you. See you later, Chad.

Chad: Bye. Man, you've got her eating out of the palm of your hand.

EJ: I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

Will: Excuse me. Hey, hey, I'm--I'm sorry. I mean, I know that you're dealing with a lot right now, but Sonny doesn't hate you, and you know that, so--

Gabi: Well, yeah, he didn't used to hate me, but then Chad went to work on him, okay?

Will: Are you ever gonna tell me about this thing between you and Chad?

Gabi: No.

Will: So there is a thing between you and Chad, then?

Gabi: Look, it's nothing I can't handle, okay? And I will.

Will: Okay, well, I was just worried because, you know, I know that you're handling a lot, and I don't know. I just think that maybe it's gonna be too much for you.

Gabi: Are you talking about the wedding?

Will: No, I'm talking about everything. I mean, yeah, the wedding. I'm gonna be Nick's best man. You're getting married by my uncle. I don't know. I just think that this whole thing is kind of getting out of our control.

Gabi: Great, yeah, let's talk about how this affects you. I'm sorry that this is all inconveniencing you.

Will: That's not what I meant. I just thought that maybe--I don't know, we should just stop, and maybe think.

Gabi: What? What are we gonna think about? What is there to think about?

Will: Well, about how this whole thing is turning into a-- like one big, fat lie.

Kristen: From Brady?

John: I know the handwriting.

Kristen: Did you read the note?

John: No note. Just an envelope. Nothing inside, but there is something in here. I wonder what it is.

Kristen: I don't understand what--what's happening.

John: You mean why my son is sending you gifts? Yeah, I wondered the same thing when I found this.

Kristen: So you decided to deliver it personally?

John: Well, we're a full service agency.

Kristen: Yeah, I don't get it.

John: Well, actually, I-- see, I got to thinking that a personal gift addressed to you in Brady's handwriting probably should not be left sitting out in plain view in victor's house. You know, I think that victor might have some kind of a reaction, don't you?

Kristen: Mm-hmm. I'm more interested in your reaction.

John: You know, maybe I'm not being totally honest here. I was surprised to find my son giving you gifts.

Kristen: I'm sure there's a very simple explanation--

John: You know, but then I started thinking this is a pretty good excuse--I mean, an opportunity--for me to come over here myself.

Kristen: All right.

John: You sure that I'm not interrupting? You seem a bit distracted--

Kristen: I'm sorry, I'm just kind of working on some stuff.

John: I see, so I am interrupting? All right, so I'll make this quick then. I'll just tell you the reason why I was looking for an excuse to come over here. I wanted to say thank you.

Kayla: Girl, you still here?

Jennifer: Yeah, I'm just waiting for my release papers to come through.

Kayla: Well, do you want me to try to speed things up?

Jennifer: Uh, no, I'm good. Abigail's on it, and then she's gonna give me a ride home.

Kayla: Good. Okay. Well, I guess I'll go back to saving people's lives.

Jennifer: Oh, Kayla.

Kayla: Yeah.

Jennifer: Do you know if Daniel has seen dr. Lewis yet?

Kayla: I think that he's the one that's gonna wanna fill you in on all that. Mm-hmm.

Daniel: Look at that. Right? Right? Come on.

Maggie: Oh, my God.

Daniel: Mm.

Maggie: [Sighs] You know, if you ask me, that medication kicked in in just the Nick of time. Hm, when I think about Jennifer and what could've happened.

Daniel: Oh, but everything worked out, right? I think we've got somebody up there who's looking out for both of us.

Maggie: [Laughs] Well, I think you all are looking out for each other.

Daniel: [Laughs]

Maggie: Daniel.

Daniel: Yeah, ma? [Exhales]

Maggie: [Sighs] That smile, the look in your eyes. It's just not the good news about the tremors, is it? There's something else.

Daniel: Yeah, yeah, there kind of is. Yeah.

Maggie: [Exhales] Well, this is going to be the best day ever.

Daniel: What?

Maggie: Now get out of here. Get out of here.

Daniel: What? Huh? Why?

Maggie: Jennifer is in her hospital room, and I think-- yeah, I think she's waiting for you.

Gabi: Do you think it's a lie that I love Nick? Do you think it's a lie that we're gonna raise this baby and love it with all of our hearts?

Will: No. You know that's not what I meant. I'm not trying to be negative here, Gabi, but I think that-- look, I grew up watching my mom's lies blow up in her face over and over again, and it's literally been my whole life. She lied about who I was. She lied about who my father was. We're going down that same path.

Gabi: No, no-no-no. This is different, all right, because Nick knows the truth. I'm not trying to fool anybody. Honestly, this is what I think is the best thing for this baby.

Will: Mm-hmm. Yeah, you're right.

Gabi: I know I'm right. Look, I need to go because there's something that I have to do.

Will: I thought that you were meeting my mom to talk about the wedding.

Gabi: I am, but this can't wait.

Kristen: You wanted to say thank you?

John: Yeah, for not reporting Marlena when she broke into your room.

Kristen: Oh. Well, you already said thank you.

John: Hm, yeah, I know I did, but I'm not quite sure I made it clear enough just how much it meant to me, and I assume the same goes for Brady. I mean, isn't that what this is for? To say thank you?

Kristen: Sure. Yeah, I guess so.

John: I know doc doesn't want any more problems, and God knows neither do I.

Kristen: Yeah. [Chuckles] Isn't that great? So why don't you guys come over on Friday? We'll play some pinochle. [Chuckling] Just kidding...

John: Right.

Kristen: But, I mean, if we can't be friends, at least we don't have to be enemies, right?

John: Right. Right. Keep our distance--our distance, but, um, have a peaceful coexistence.

John: Hey, on that note, I'll let you get back to work, and, uh, when you see Brady, you tell him he owes me for the price of a messenger.

Kristen: I'm not gonna see Brady. I'm sure I won't see him before you do, so--

John: Right.

Kristen: Yeah, okay. Hey, John.

John: Mm-hmm?

Kristen: [Exhales] Thank you. I know you tend to be a man of few words, so this means a lot.

John: Right. Well.

[Door closes]

Brady: I was sure he was here because he knew what was going on.

Kristen: Yeah. Well, thank God he didn't. That would've been a disaster, right?

Jennifer: Oh. [Groans] Daniel, I--ooh. Mm.

Daniel: Whoa, easy, Horton, there, easy.

Jennifer: No, I'm good. I'm actually really fine. I just have to keep reminding myself that I just had major surgery, and I move too fast.

Daniel: Okay, well, let me remind you: You had major surgery. Don't move too fast.

Jennifer: [Laughs] That amazing bedside manner of yours.

Daniel: Yeah.

Jennifer: So did you get a chance to see dr. Lewis?

Daniel: Uh, yeah, I did. Look at that. Yeah, if you need a needle threaded, or a full martini carried across the room, I am your go-to guy. Look at that. Hm?

Jennifer: I just-- I--

Daniel: What? I, you--what? What? No, this is good news.

Jennifer: I know. I know it is. Daniel, you just--you don't understand. This is my grandfather's hospital. I grew up watching my grandfather, watching the people here, heal people... and you do that. You have this amazing gift... and you've saved my life twice.

Daniel: [Laughs] Well, that's the last time I'll do that, young lady.

[Laughter]

Jennifer: Okay.

Daniel: [Laughs]

Jennifer: I was, uh, really afraid that I screwed everything up. I really was--

Daniel: Okay, no--no, no. We're not going back there. That is looking backwards, and we're done with that, you got it? 'Cause this--this is a happy ending, and we are going to enjoy it, and that is the doctor's orders.

Jennifer: [Laughs] Okay.

Daniel: All right?

Jennifer: Okay.

Daniel: 'Cause you, instead of just feeling guilty, you should be like, "see, I told you so," right? I mean, look at this. Look at me. I--thank you for helping me, and just talking me into--it's just--I... words--there are no words to express how much this means to me. How it did, it just--I don't know, it changes. It changes everything.

Jennifer: Yeah, but you made the decision. You took the risk.

Daniel: Because of you.

Jennifer: All right, then. Okay, then you owe me.

Daniel: I owe you?

Jennifer: You owe me. You owe me big.

Daniel: Really?

Jennifer: You owe me so big, like you could knock something big off my hospital bill.

Daniel: [Laughs] Well, that particular procedure out there at the cabin, it was on the house, and what you said to me afterwards.

[Laughter]

Jennifer: What? Oh, no, what did I say to you afterwards?

[Overlapping dialogue]

Sami: Ooh!

Hope: Oh, God, I'm sorry. You stopped so short.

Sami: Sorry, I'm sorry. She's not here! I thought she would be here.

Hope: [Sighs] Good.

Sami: Oh, no, we're early.

Hope: We are?

Sami: That's awesome, okay.

Hope: How'd that happen?

Sami: Gabi's not here. We're great. Great.

Hope: Oh, just so you know, I asked Rafe to be here.

Sami: Rafe?

Hope: Yeah. Oh, gosh, I'm sorry. Um, do you have a problem with that?

Sami: No, no, I'm sure he'll have lots of interesting insight into all the flowers we should put on the pews in the church. Sorry. That was just my gut instinct. Truth is, when we got married, he made our wedding beautiful all by himself.

Hope: Did you have any trouble getting away from work? I imagine Kristen's something of a slave driver.

Sami: Yes, she is, but no, I didn't, because actually, I just work for EJ now, so--

Hope: What? Seriously? I mean, that's horrible.

Sami: Well, it hasn't been, actually. We've been working really well together, and he even said that we're basically partners.

Hope: Partners, right. Partners, and the man's word is his bond. Do you like that cake?

Sami: Why do I get the feeling that you don't trust him?

Hope: Hmm, and you do? Really? Why?

Sami: We just work together. That's it.

Hope: Right, I'm sorry. Just another DiMera coincidence.

Sami: You're reading way too much into this. I promise, he does not have an agenda.

Hope: [Laughs] Because that would be so wildly out of character for him. You like that cake better?

Sami: I do like this one better--stop it! Please, come on. He let me come here in the middle of the day to focus on Gabi's wedding. He had to know Rafe would be here, or involved in some way, right? Does that sound like someone with an agenda?

Hope: Hm, I'll have to think about that one, Sami. The answer would be yes.

Sami: [Exhales]

EJ: Chad, Samantha and I are working together. That is all.

Chad: Right, right, and that was all just business.

EJ: We work together, we have a family together, so it helps when things are running smoothly and we are being friends.

Chad: And, uh, who knows what friendliness might lead to? Shrewd move, EJ, very shrewd.

EJ: Thank you, it is a shrewd move, and by the way, it was your sister Kristen's idea.

Chad: I talked to Kristen. She said some pretty interesting things.

EJ: Listen, if I were you, I would listen to what she has to say, okay? All right. Take care, brother.

Chad: Oh.

Gabi: Hey.

Chad: Whoa, whoa.

Gabi: You and I are gonna settle this, all of it, right now.

Kristen: So although I'm really glad that there was no note in here for your father to read, why didn't you write me a note?

Brady: I did, and I threw it out. The written word is not my strong suit.

Kristen: Oh, well, who needs it anyway, right? It's acceptable to say it with jewelry. [Gasps]

Brady: Mm, ahh.

Kristen: And it is jewelry! It's so exquisite.

Brady: I thought this might make up for your, you know, injured wrist there.

Kristen: Oh. It's beautiful. Thank you.

Brady: You're welcome.

Kristen: [Sighs] I don't know how smart it is, though, for me to be running around town wearing expensive gifts from you.

Brady: [Sighs] What makes you think that that thing is expensive?

Kristen: Are you kidding me? Any girl with two eyeballs would know that that is expensive.

Brady: It might be.

Kristen: Yay!

Brady: But I thought that since we have so many secrets, that what's wrong with one more? You're the only person in the world that knows that it's from me.

Kristen: Yeah, but guess what? Our secrets are starting to pile up.

Brady: I know, but that's fun, isn't it?

Kristen: It is fun. Mm. I'm so sorry, I gotta go. I've got things to do.

Brady: Yeah, you have to go. It's okay, I've had enough excitement for one day anyways.

Kristen: I don't think you have.

Brady: See ya.

Kristen: Would you make sure and check both ways, you know, uh--

Brady: I-I know the drill.

Kristen: Bye.

Brady: All clear. I'm gonna call you.

Kristen: [Exhales] Wow. I thought my family was fond of secrets. [Sighs] Well, today wasn't the day, John, but it's coming!

It's coming!

Jennifer: So what is it that I said? I'm sure it didn't make any sense 'cause I was so loopy from all those drugs.

Daniel: Yeah, yeah, I, uh-- yeah, I guess you, um-- I guess you were. [Laughs]

Jennifer: Wait a minute, let me guess. I know myself. I probably swore that next year will be the cubs' year, right? And I probably placed a little wager on it.

Daniel: Well, you obviously didn't know what you were saying.

Jennifer: That's all right, because I stand by my cubbies, so whatever it was, $100, $200.

Daniel: No, I told you I wouldn't hold you to what you said, and I meant it. Go!

Jennifer: But anyway, this isn't the time to be talking about the cubs.

Daniel: Well, no, it was one of the first things we ever really, really talked about. Uh, the cubs, and--

Jennifer: But this is about you right now. I wanna talk about you getting back on that surgical rotation. Have you talked to Kayla?

Kristen: Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know you had company. You scared me.

Daniel: Uh, no problem. You know what? I, uh--I was going, and I'll check up on what's holding up your release.

Jennifer: Okay, thanks.

Daniel: Yeah. Excuse me.

Kristen: Ah.

Daniel: [Laughs] [Exhales] [Sighs]

Kristen: Do you need a ride home?

Jennifer: No, no, I'm good. Abby--Abby's on it.

Kristen: Okay. How about some chicken soup?

Jennifer: You know... [Laughter] I'm a Horton, so by the time I get home, my kitchen is gonna look like "casseroles 'r' us," you know?

Kristen: [Exhales] Okay, then, well, I'm glad you're okay. I'm glad.

Jennifer: Kristen. Um, thank you for coming down here.

Kristen: Oh, sure. Do you want me to find that doctor, I mean, whoever he is, and speed up the release process?

Jennifer: Oh, that was Daniel. That was doctor Jonas.

Kristen: The same guy that was with Nicole?

Jennifer: No. No, the same guy that saved my life... twice.

EJ: William. It's been a while.

Will: Yeah, yeah, I guess it has.

EJ: Did your mother, um, tell you we're working together now?

Will: Yeah, she said that you're her new boss.

EJ: Well, more like partners, but I suppose.

Will: Oh. Great. Well, uh, I guess I'll see you around.

EJ: William. Do you want to tell me what's wrong?

Sami: It's not good for you to keep it all in like this, aunt hope. You should, you know, really tell me what you think.

Hope: Okay, I will. That trusting EJ again is--oh, my gosh, what is that word? Oh, it's on the tip of my tongue. Idiotic.

Sami: Well, thank you for chiming in on my personal and professional life in one fell swoop.

Hope: Sami, Sami, Sami, I worry. I'm telling you: You start working for EJ again, one thing leads to another. You know what happens. You fall back into your old patterns.

Sami: [Scoffs] Are you suggesting that EJ and I have a rocky history?

Hope: Oh, I am not suggesting. I am saying it would be nuts-- you're nuts for working for him.

Sami: [Laughing] I am not!

Hope: Yes, you are!

Sami: I am not nuts, aunt hope!

Hope: Look at the pa--

Rafe: Hey.

Hope: Hi.

Rafe: What's so funny?

Sami: [Laughs] Aunt hope had the nerve to sit here and question my judgment. My judgment, of all people.

Rafe: Huh.

Sami: Oh dear.

Rafe: Yeah. Uh, where's my sister? She should be here by now, no?

Chad: I'm busy. Go peddle your B.S. Somewhere else.

Gabi: You talked to Sonny, right? Didn't you? Should I go call Justin? Should I call him so that he can remind you that if you don't keep your mouth shut, you can go to prison?

Chad: And let me remind you that that's a two-way street. You think Nick could get conjugal visitation rights?

Gabi: [Scoffs] You're such a creep. You know that you can insult me all you want, but you signed those papers for a reason, so watch out what you say to people. Good. Glad you got the message.

Chad: Maybe I got the message, but I don't think I got the whole story.

Gabi: What are you talking about?

Chad: I'm not sure, and all I know is all of a sudden, you're pregnant, getting married at warp speed.

Gabi: Who told you that?

Chad: You think something like that will stay quiet around here?

Gabi: Fine. You know everything about my personal life. Does that make you happy?

Chad: I'm not sure I know everything, so come on. What was going on the other night I was at your place? I mean, Nick was sure mad about something.

Gabi: Well, what can I say? You just have that effect on people.

Will: Um, I don't-- you know, I don't know what you mean. I'm fine. I just got, you know, busy. Things--you know, a lot of stuff to do.

EJ: Yeah?

Will: Yeah.

EJ: So I understand you're seeing somebody.

Will: Mm-hmm. I am, yeah.

EJ: Good. It's going well, I hope.

Will: Yeah, better than I imagined.

EJ: Good. Well, then, whoever this young man is, he's very lucky.

Will: I don't know. I mean, I'm not so sure about that, but thanks.

EJ: Look, um, I understand you're not wanting to confide in me. I just wanted to say that, uh, I hope you have a fantastic new year full of happiness, no complications.

Will: Yeah, amen to that.

Jennifer: So now you can see why I'm a little protective of that guy.

Kristen: Yeah. Super surgeon. It's too bad he's not a little cuter. Then he'd really be a catch.

Jennifer: Are you kidding me? Daniel's one of the best-looking guys I've--

Kristen: [Giggles] Gotcha! [Knocks at door] Oh! Hi, doctor Jonas. I'll leave the two of you alone. Okay, and I'm gonna call you later.

Jennifer: Okay.

Kristen: Okay. Bye, doctor Jonas.

Daniel: Do I, um--do I know her?

Jennifer: Uh, that is Kristen DiMera.

Daniel: Ah.

Jennifer: We were--we were friends in another lifetime.

Daniel: Right. Uh, well, I have the release forms right here.

Jennifer: [Sighs] Great. [Sighs]

Daniel: Oh, yeah, I can imagine you're ready to get out of here.

Jennifer: Daniel, that is an understatement. I mean, it feels like a year has passed since I left my house and went to the cabin.

Daniel: Mm.

Jennifer: A lot has happened since then.

Daniel: Mm, yeah. A lot.

John: So in the end, I'm glad that I went and had that talk with her. I just hope you don't mind that I used your gift as an excuse.

Brady: No, not as long as you gave it to her.

John: Yeah, we kind of agreed to just keep our distance. I think "a peaceful coexistence" is the way she put it.

Brady: Sounds like a good idea.

John: I'm gonna need a favor out of you, just in case I'm wrong about her.

Brady: Yeah?

John: Would you mind keeping an eye on her?

Brady: Mind? Uh, no, I wouldn't mind a bit.

It's so important to make someone happy

Kristen: [Gasps] [Exhales]

Brady: I'm sorry, did I scare you?

Kristen: Are you stalking me?

Brady: Maybe.

Kristen: [Moans]

Brady: You know who I just talked to? I just talked to my dad. He told me about coming over to see you today.

Kristen: Mm, did you act surprised?

Brady: I didn't have to, because he asked me for a favor. You know what he wanted me to do for him? He told me to keep a very close eye on you.

Kristen: Aw.

Brady: I think that pretty much proves that he has no idea what's going on.

Kristen: Yeah. Well, that's what we wanted, right?

Brady: I felt bad lying to him, but it would feel worse giving you up. You done with your errands? Can we go back to your place now?

Kristen: [Laughs]

Brady: I'm sorry.

Kristen: You are insatiable. Are you kidding?

Brady: You've pulled it out of me. I just wanna show you how I feel about you, that's all.

Kristen: You don't know how important you've become to me, Brady. Some day, I hope you will. [Moans]

Daniel: So when do I get back on surgical rotation?

Kayla: Ah! As soon as I make that phone call. Sorry.

Daniel: Excellent, all right.

Maggie: Are you okay?

Daniel: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Of course I am.

Maggie: You seem deflated.

Daniel: No, just anxious to get back to work, that's all.

Maggie: Wait a minute. Wait a minute, you're not gonna go back on rotation for at least an hour. Why don't you take Jennifer out to lunch?

Daniel: Mm. No, no, that--she just needs to take it easy.

Jennifer: Abigail? Could I please have some toast with that tea also? Thank you! I love you, sweetie. I love you, Daniel.

Daniel: Jen.

Jennifer: What I feel for you, it is not what you think. [Chuckles] It's not pity, Daniel. It's love. I love you, Daniel.

Sami: Eric is gonna be the one to do the wedding ceremony? That's fantastic!

Gabi: Yeah.

Sami: I can't believe--it's perfect. It's all in the family.

Hope: Oh, Sami, the dress. Were you able to set up a fitting for the dress?

Sami: Yeah, yeah, I did actually, and since the ceremony isn't until after the holidays, I thought maybe we should schedule another fitting closer to, you know, for any adjustments.

Hope: Good idea.

Sami: Actually, that reminds me, I didn't get a chance to ask you. How far along are you?

Gabi: 11 or 12 weeks.

Sami: Yeah.

Hope: What?

Sami: What? What's wrong?

Hope: [Stammers] It's just I was talking to Nick yesterday, and he said it was more like five or six weeks.
