[Door opening]

Bo: Hey, there's my girls. Hey, there, little one. Mmm, mmm, mmm. Hi.

Hope: Hey.

Bo: Sorry I'm late. You okay?

Hope: In the car on the way over, Ciara asked if we could listen to some James Brown.

Bo: Oh.

Hope: Aunt Lexie's favorite.

Bo: Yeah. How 'bout on the way home, we'll play a little I feel good. Maybe I'll sing along, hmm?

Hope: [Laughs]

Bo: That'll make us feel better.

Hope: Yeah. God, I can't even imagine what Abe must be going through right now.

Bo: I take how I feel when I don't know where you are or if you're okay, multiply that by... a lot.

Hope: We're very blessed.

Bo: Yeah. You know, when you get the chance to be with the one you love, it's your responsibility to make the most of every second with them.

Hope: Amen to that.

Sami: Hi.

Lucas: Hi. [Laughs] Good morning.

Sami: [Laughs] Oh, what time is it?

Lucas: It's, uh, it's actually time for brunch. Come on, get up.

Sami: What?

Lucas: Brunch.

Sami: What is that?

Lucas: It's my killer frittata. Come on. Madame.

Sami: [Chuckles] Uh--I can't believe you have a killer frittata. What--

Lucas: I do.

Sami: What--what--why do I get this?

Lucas: Because you hold down a very demanding job, and you take great care of our kids, that's why. Now, eat.

Sami: I'm not that great.

Lucas: You are that great. You've been doing everything. Come on, you spent most of the night at the police station with Will, where you found out--or your dad found out that our son was gay, and what'd you do? You stuck up for him, and you came back here, you spent all that time on the ad campaign, then you got up early, got the kids ready for school, you found the homework, you made the pancakes, come on. I think it's, uh, plenty of cause for crackin' a few eggs.

Sami: Why are you being so nice to me?

Lucas: Because I love you, that's why. All right, go ahead. Eat up. You don't want it to get cold. [Chuckles]

EJ: Hey! Hey! What are you doing? Give me that.

Will: I'm sorry, I was just tidying up.

EJ: You're here to fetch and carry, William, not to stick your nose into city business.

Will: Okay.

EJ: Computer's off, I take it you're finished with work for the day.

Will: Yes.

EJ: Okay, well, don't let me keep you. [Sighs]

Sami: When did you learn to make a frittata?

Lucas: I've been working on it for about a year now.

Sami: Really?

Lucas: Yeah.

Sami: A year in Hong Kong, cooking eggs?

Lucas: Well, you know, dim sum kinda gets old after a while, so...

Sami: [Laughs]

Lucas: Sometimes you need a little taste of home.

Sami: I knew it. This feels like home.

Lucas: It does to me too.

Sami: So be honest. Are you really just being nice, or are you buttering me up because you have some horrible news you have to tell me, or something?

Lucas: No, I'm just really being nice. Trying to do something nice for you, is that okay?

Sami: Really? [Laughs]

Lucas: Mm-hmm, really. [Clears throat] There's nobody like you. I finally figured that out.

Sami: Who would've thought, after everything, we would have found our way back to each other?

Lucas: I never would have predicted it.

Sami: After everything I've done to you, Lucas, I don't deserve it. [Sighs]

Daniel: No, no, I still don't have the results of Nancy Harrison's glucose tolerance test. Well, no, you talk to the lab, and you put a rush on it. Yeah, no, be relentless if you have to, just get it. Thank you. Ugh.

Nicole: Well, finally, the doctor is in.

Lucas: Come on, Sami, it's just a couple of eggs. It's no big deal.

Sami: I'm not talking about this breakfast. You know that. I'm talking about everything. I'm talking about me making a mess of my life again, so that you have to come back here and rescue me, and you leave your fiance’ in the process, and... then you end up losing her.

Lucas: You know, Sami, it just wasn't meant to be between Autumn and I. She knew it and I knew it. You know, we would still be married right now if it hadn't been for my mother.

Sami: And me. I mean, I would like nothing more than to pin this all on Kate, believe me, but...

Lucas: But what?

Sami: I'm sorry.

Lucas: What? What are you sorry for? I knew that was coming.

Sami: I'm sorry for everything. I'm sorry that two of my kids are EJ's and that he is a part of my life and he always will be, and yes, usually he's trying to mess with me in some way, but the other half of the time, it's totally my fault. Just ask Rafe.

Lucas: No, you know what? I'm not gonna ask Rafe anything. And now that Stefano's gone, I think that's a game changer, don't you?

Sami: You have to let me finish. I'm trying to say something important here.

Lucas: Which is what? What are you trying to say?

Sami: I'm telling you to run! I'm telling you to get out of my life, to stay away from me. It's not a good idea for you.

Lucas: You know, I've tried that. I've tried that a lot. Something keeps pulling me back.

Sami: The kids.

Lucas: Yeah, the kids. It's part of it. It's also you.

Sami: You...are not listening to me.

Lucas: No, you're right, I'm not listening to you, and if you act like this again, I'm not gonna cook for you anymore, either. We're not kids anymore. Right? We're all grown up, we're all mature, we can tell each other how we feel, can't we? This time around I... finally realized that I never stopped loving you.

Sami: Lucas, I don't know what I did to deserve another chance with you.

Lucas: I do. You were just you.

Sami: You know what?

Lucas: Hmm.

Sami: Thanks for the breakfast, but, um, I'm not really that hungry.

Lucas: Really?

Sami: Yeah.

Lucas: Mmm, I'm hungry.

Sami: [Laughs]

Lucas: Mmm, but I don't want any food right now.

Sami: [Laughs] I was hoping you would say that. [Laughs]

Hope: I wonder what she's working on over there.

Bo: Oh, I love how she's always coming up with projects for herself, even today.

Hope: Yeah. She acts like she's okay, but she really isn't. I heard her whimpering in her sleep last night.

Bo: Oh, well, it makes sense. She was over their house a lot. Play dates, goin' to the park. Lexie was family.

Hope: She really was family. You know, it's incredible. I mean, it's actually hard to believe that after everything Lex and I have been through together, with J.T., with Zack, that we could ever be friends again.

Bo: Yeah.

Hope: When we lost Zack, Abe and Lexie were mourning a son too.

Bo: Now she's with him in heaven.

Hope: [Chuckles] When I'd have good news, or bad news, or, you know, any kind of news, after you... she was the person I wanted to tell. When you and I weren't together, she--she was... she was the one who listened, Bo. She's the one who got me through, kept me going.

Bo: She helped me along the way too. You know what we're gonna do to honor her?

Hope: Tell me.

Bo: We're not gonna take for granted what we have. We're not gonna get sidetracked or go all quiet when something's bothering us... 'cause you are the best thing that has ever happened to me.

Hope: I love you. And I do appreciate you. I'm so sorry if I have ever taken you for granted.

Bo: Back at you.

Hope: Oh, my gosh. I've got to get going pretty soon. Breakfast still hasn't come.

Bo: Yeah. Kay might be having some problems in the kitchen. She's been--

Hope: I know, I know. I'm gonna go see if I can give her a hand. I'll be right out. Keep an eye on her.

Bo: Okay.

Ciara: Where are you going?

Hope: What? Oh, hey, baby, I'm just--mommy's just going to the kitchen, sweetheart.

Ciara: I won't know where you are. Don't go, Mommy, please don't go.

Arthur: EJ?

EJ: [Clears throat] Hello, Arthur. Sorry, I, um, uh... didn't hear you come in.

Arthur: I'm--I'm here about Dr. Carthuos soon after what happened to your father..

EJ: Thank you for coming over at such short notice.

Arthur: I-I was expecting a call from you, uh, after I heard about Stefano. I assume this is about his estate.

EJ: Uh, maybe we should get the ball rolling. Would you--why don't you take a seat?

Arthur: Sure.

EJ: [Clears throat] This is a copy of my father's will.

Arthur: Uh, EJ, you are aware that this is not the latest version?

EJ: Go on.

Arthur: Well, Stefano came to my office several weeks ago, and he told me that he wanted to revise his will, because he had learned that you were not his biological son, therefore you cannot be his heir.

EJ: I see.

Arthur: He said he'd spoken to you about this.

EJ: Oh. He spoke to me about it, all right. Tell me something, this, uh, conversation you had with my father, did you mention it to anybody?

Arthur: No, no, Stefano was adamant about no one knowing.

EJ: And no one shall know. Are we clear?

Arthur: What? Uh--

EJ: No one.

Sonny: Hey!

Will: Oh, God.

Sonny: Oh, you.

Will: Oh, sorry, I didn't see you.

Sonny: Maybe you should look where you're going first.

Will: [Laughs] Maybe you should look where you're going. Jeez, I feel like the whole town is staring at me.

Sonny: Well, at least they know you couldn't have whacked Stefano. That's good news.

Will: I know, no--I thought-- Neil thought he was doing me a favor, but--

Sonny: He outed you before you could do it yourself.

Will: Yeah.

Sonny: Well, you're still off the hook with the cops, so--

Will: That's true.

Sonny: Now your life can go back to normal.

Will: Yeah, as soon as I figure out how to get back in the closet.

Sonny: Wait, what? Will. Will!

Hope: Oh, baby, sweetheart, Mommy was just going to the kitchen to see if I could help Grandma and Aunt Kayla.

Ciara: I was worried you wouldn't come back, like Theo's mommy.

Hope: Theo's mommy was very sick, honey. Her body stopped working, but she didn't want to leave Theo.

Bo: Your mommy and I are fine. We're not going anywhere.

Ciara: Really?

Bo: Really. [Laughs]

Hope: Really. Promise you, but you know what else? Theo's mommy...is still watching over him. Even if he can't see her, she's there.

Ciara: Because she's in heaven with Gran and Zack?

Bo: That's right, and he's gonna miss his mommy an awful lot, but he's got his daddy, who loves him very much, and amazing friends like you, who will be there for him.

Ciara: I'm making him a card.

Hope: You are?

Bo: Oh, yeah?

Ciara: Yeah.

Hope: [Laughing] Wow.

Ciara: That's what I was coloring when I saw you leaving.

Hope: Oh, sweetie, that-- you're so sweet. You have such a kind heart. Oh. I love you, Ciara. Mommy and Daddy love you from here to the moon.

Bo: [Chuckles]

Hope: You feel a little bit better? Okay. Want to finish up that card? All right. Wow. That was really tough.

Bo: Yeah. We've got one great kid.

EJ: You see, the problem, Arthur, after my father revised his will, he and I actually reached an agreement about my inheritance.

Arthur: Hmm. What kind of agreement?

EJ: [Chuckles] It appears that my father lied to both you and me. Apparently, I am his biological son.

Arthur: Then why did he say you weren't, and why did he change his will?

EJ: Same reason he does everything... control.

Arthur: [Chuckles] Yes. That sounds like something that Stefano would do.

EJ: [Laughing] Right, doesn't it just?

Arthur: Um... but he showed me the paperwork... and I saw Stefano's face when he told me. He wasn't lying. You are not his son.

EJ: Rather a shame, don't you think, that he's not here to speak for himself?

Arthur: [Sighs] Well, I have to go by his last instructions to me.

EJ: So this new version of the will... did my father sign it? Was it witnessed, was it notarized?

Arthur: No. Um, Stefano's untimely death made that impossible.

EJ: I see.

Arthur: So what do you want me to do? You don't want his estate to go into probate.

EJ: Oh, no, no, no. I don't think that's going to happen.

Arthur: I don't understand.

EJ: Well, because the provisions of his old will are quite clear... and you're going to make sure they stand.

Will: Please, I don't have time for this.

Sonny: You need to make some time. Take a seat.

Will: I was joking, okay? Obviously, I don't want to go back into the closet.

Sonny: Okay, then why'd you say it?

Will: As a joke? I don't know, I feel like my life would be less complicated if I did.

Sonny: What is less complicated about pretending to be straight?

Will: You don't understand, Sonny, I grew up in this town. I'm a Horton, I'm a Brady...

Sonny: Mm-hmm. And I'm the only gay guy on either side.

Sonny: Okay, "A," I doubt that, and "B," did you forget that I was at the pub last night when your parents, your Grandma, and John showed up, and they were all great.

Will: Yes.

Sonny: They were all great.

Will: I know, I know, that's not the problem. It--it seems like people are-- are more freaked out about me being gay than me maybe shooting someone. How--honestly, why is it such a big deal?

Sonny: Well, the only way to stop it from being a big deal... hey, is to get rid of that closet. The more people that have to face the fact that they know someone who's gay, and love someone who's gay, the more they're gonna stop thinking it's a bad thing.

Will: [Laughs] Just tell me it gets easier... that after a while it's just not a big deal.

Sonny: I wish I could, man.

Daniel: Now, imagine my surprise at finding you sitting behind my desk.

Nicole: You're gonna need a better chair, Doc. This one's gonna kill your back.

Daniel: Oh, my back's just fine. What are you doing here?

Nicole: We have a conversation to finish.

Daniel: Do you have an appointment?

Nicole: No.

Daniel: Well, I have a woman in her seventh month who's having contractions, and she's borderline diabetic.

Nicole: You're not an O.B.

Daniel: I fixed a hole in her heart two years ago. She trusts me.

Nicole: I bet she does.

Daniel: So... I may have to run at any moment.

Nicole: I understand. You're in demand. But you see, I am a woman who doesn't like to leave loose ends. I like to...finish what I start.

Daniel: Well, imagine that. So do I.

Nicole: How long have we known each other?

Daniel: Oh, my goodness, I think quite a while now.

Nicole: Why didn't I notice this about you before?

Daniel: I don't know.

Nicole: Mmm.

Sami: Hey, promise me something.

Lucas: Anything, name it.

Sami: The next time things get drama-filled, you will remind me of my frittata.

Lucas: Well, we're not gonna have any more drama, right? All that's over. We're mature now.

Sami: Oh, right. [Laughs]

Lucas: Remember?

Sami: 'Cause we're so mature, except for you're wearing that robe, so--[Laughs]

Lucas: Yeah...

Sami: You really think it's possible that we could be past it, and we can just focus on, like, what to feed the kids for dinner, and where we're gonna go on vacation?

Lucas: Yeah, I do think it's possible. It's a good concept, vacation. I'll tell you what, you go ahead and read the paper. I'll take a look at it when you're done, and I'll do the dishes. How 'bout that?

Sami: Whoa.

Lucas: How's that for a modern guy?

Sami: You are spoiling me rotten. I could get used to this. [Sighing] Okay. Oh, my God.

Lucas: What, what is it?

Sami: "Will Horton stars in gay drama."

Lucas: Oh, man.

Sami: [Sighs]

Will: Has anybody ever told you that you're kind of a downer? [Laughs]

Sonny: [Laughs] Well, no, I didn't mean it like that. It--it really does get easier, a lot easier. It's just the way that people react sometimes.

Will: Okay, like how?

Sonny: [Laughs] Okay, um...

Will: [Chuckles]

Sonny: Sometimes you'll tell someone that you're gay, and they're gonna be like, "oh, yeah, I already--I totally knew that," so it makes you wonder, "well, were you talking behind my back the whole time?"

Will: You know what? I would still rather that, though, than the look on my grandpa's face.

Sonny: Well, it's new to him. He's thought of you as straight your entire life, and all the people that you've known since you were born, they thought the same way. They just have to get to know you in a new way. Like your mom, you know, she came around, right?

Will: Yeah.

Sonny: Your dad, did he help her?

Will: Uh, yeah, actually, but you know...[Laughs] The funny thing is, is--mostly EJ, I think he talked her into it.

Sonny: Get outta here.

Will: Yeah, I'm serious. You know he paid my bail, right?

Sonny: You were charged with shooting his father, and he paid your bail?

Will: Yeah. Also offered me my old job back.

Sonny: But you said no, right?

Will: [Chuckles]

Sonny: Will, you said no, right?

Hope: How's it going?

Bo: Eh, it's slow.

Hope: [Chuckles] You want to read to me what you've got so far?

Bo: Um, not really.

Hope: Oh, come on.

Bo: Be kind, okay?

Hope: Always.

Bo: [Sighing] Yeah. "When I was a kid, and dreaming about the Merchant Marine, I'd tell mom that I was never gonna get married. I didn't want to tie myself down."

Hope: Mmm, [Laughs]

Bo: [Chuckles] "She'd look at me and shake her head and say, 'Bo, we're not meant to go through this life alone. Someday you'll meet someone who makes you understand that, and until you do, stop bothering me with all your nonsense.'"

Hope: [Laughs] Sounds exactly like her.

Bo: "Well, she was right. I did meet that someone... and so did my good friend Abe Carver. Now, Lexie walked a very difficult line in this world. She fell in love with the best man she'd ever met, and then discovered she had a father who was... one of the worst."

Hope: Hmm.

Bo: Yeah, just--it's-- or

Hope: Okay, sorry, all right.

Bo: Let me work through this. "But somehow she found a way to make it all work. She became a loving, devoted wife and an affectionate, if disapproving, daughter."

Hope: Works.

Bo: Okay. "And when her son was born, Theo was the light of her life, and I know Abe will see to it that he always knows that. It seems so unfair that Lexie was taken from them so soon... but I saw Lexie and Abe on a daily basis, and they had the kind of love--[Choked up]... My mom was talking about. That kind of love never, ever dies." [Sighs] [Sobs] Ooh, good thing I'm getting this out of the way now, huh? "They found each other, and they had what they had for as long as they did."

Hope: But not nearly long enough.

Bo: No. [Sighs]

Lucas: It's going straight to voicemail. [Clears throat] Hey, Will, it's your dad. Um, I'm over at your mom's house right now, and we just want to make sure everything's going okay with you, that you're all right, so, um, give us a call back whenever you get a chance. All right, man, bye.

Sami: I don't believe this. I mean, it is outrageous what they're doing. [Stutters] He turns out not to be suspected of murder, but he just went to a stupid club, and they make it seem like some huge scandal.

Lucas: I mean, they're just trying to sell papers. That's what they do, you know that.

Sami: It's not right. He finally gets off of murder charges, but then they put his private life on the front page of the newspaper, and they make him seem like he's some--like he's some sort of--

Lucas: I know, I know, I know, maybe we can just find him and we'll tell him about it before he sees it.

Sami: It's just not right. I can't believe that's on the front page of the paper. All they had to do was say that he has an alibi.

Lucas: Does it make you feel uncomfortable that everybody knows our son's gay?

Sami: Yeah, it does.

Sonny: You're working with EJ again, aren't you? What part of "that's stupid" do you not understand?

Will: You know, he's not that bad.

Sonny: He's a creep. Will, why are you doing this, man?

Will: Uh, well, EJ thinks I owe him.

Sonny: For what?

Will: For betraying him, obviously. For helping Stefano break up him and Nicole.

Sonny: Why do you care what EJ thinks?

Will: I don't know. I do, I--

Sonny: But why? What is--what's he gonna do if you say no?

Will: [Chuckles] Believe me, you don't want to know.

EJ: So we're agreed. We will use this will to settle the estate.

Arthur: Uh, right.

EJ: And the information about my paternity?

Arthur: I'll destroy it.

EJ: Good. I mean, I'm sure I don't need to remind you about lawyer/client confidentiality.

Arthur: If this gets out, it will not be from me.

EJ: Why do you say "if this gets out"?

Arthur: Uh, I don't know. [Chuckles] I misspoke.

EJ: I'm sure I don't need to remind you of who I am in this town. I'm not just the mayor. I'm also in charge of DiMera Enterprises. I wield a lot of power, enough to make or break somebody. Permanently.

Arthur: You may not be Stefano's son, but you are exactly like him.

Lucas: You really want our son to be a closet case?

Sami: No, I did not mean it like that. It's just-- I hate that it had to happen like this, you know? That everybody knows because of this paper, that it didn't happen on his terms. He didn't get to decide, and I hate the thought of people being mean to him. I mean, he's--he's my baby, and I don't want people to be hateful to him because he's gay.

Lucas: Well, things have changed, you know, since we were his age. People bully, kids bully for all sorts of reasons, not just because you're gay.

Lucas: He's not young anymore. He's old, he's not in high school...all right? He knows how to handle himself. He knows who he is and he can fight back.

Sami: You think?

Lucas: Yeah, I think so. He's got a very supportive family...right? And I feel bad for any homophobe who has to deal with you or my mom.

Sami: [Laughs] Well, when you put it like that-- [Chuckles] What about my dad?

Lucas: Well, I'm sure he's having trouble accepting things right off the bat. You know, Will is his first grandchild, so just give him some time. I'm sure he'll be fine.

Sami: I'm glad we're going through this together. What are you thinking about?

Lucas: Well, I just... I wonder why Will hasn't been up front with us about everything he's going through.

Sami: I know. I know, it's hard to be there for him when he won't tell us anything. And he was willing to go to trial for murder one.

Lucas: Yeah.

Sami: When he had an alibi, and he just didn't want us to know what it was.

Lucas: I can't believe he's working for EJ again.

Sami: I know. I know, and he won't even tell us why he's working for him again, so what makes us think that he'd tell us if someone's hassling him?

Lucas: I don't know. Right now my main concern is what sick game EJ’s playing with him. Where are you going?

Sami: You know what? If Will won't tell us what's going on, I'll make EJ tell us.

Lucas: W-w-wait a minute. Hold on a second.

Sami: No, I think I can do this. I know what I'm doing.

Lucas: No, no, no. We are gonna get to the bottom of this. We're gonna do that together. But you're not going anywhere near EJ.

Sonny: So what? You helped out--you helped Stefano break up EJ and Nicole. I think it's a dumb move, but it's not a crime.

Will: You don't know the whole story.

Sonny: Is he threatening you? We can go to the cops right now.

Will: No, I can't.

Sonny: Will. What else has he got on you?

Will: You know, it's not that. It's what I'm gonna get on him.

Sonny: What do you mean?

Will: Well, he's hiding something. I think it's big.

Sonny: How do you know that?

Will: Okay, there's this piece of paper that--I don't know, slipped out of his jacket or whatever, and I picked it up--and I thought he was gonna have a stroke.

Sonny: So you're gonna keep working for him to find out what's on the paper?

Will: Yeah. I'm gonna get him. I'm gonna put him away.

Sonny: Secret Agent Will.

Will: Well, somebody's got to do it.

Sonny: You really think you're gonna turn the tables on a guy like EJ DiMera?

Will: Well, that'd be justice.

Sonny: Justice? Are you kidding me? Dude, you'll be lucky to get out of there alive.

Daniel: Okay, this is crazy.

Nicole: I like it crazy.

Daniel: [Grunts] Whoo, come here.

Nicole: [Chuckles]

Ciara: I finished my card for Theo.

Hope: You did?

Bo: Oh, yeah? Oh, and that's Theo's mom in heaven?

Ciara: Yeah. Those are stars, and those are angels.

Bo: Oh.

Hope: You know what I think? I think Aunt Lexie looks very happy and peaceful with all those angels around her.

Ciara: They're her new friends. They'll take her to Gran and Zack.

Bo: This card is gonna make Theo feel an awful lot better.

Hope: Yup, and that's what friends are for. Sweetheart, do you need some help putting those crayons back behind the bar?

Ciara: No, I can do it.

Hope: Okay.

Bo: He'd be 12 now.

Hope: I miss him every day.

Bo: We always will. Dreading going into that house.

Hope: It'll never be the same without her in it.

Bo: Nope.

Hope: Not seeing her face light up as she crosses the room to give me a big hug, or tease me.

Bo: Well, like we told Ciara, she's always there with us. They all are, watching over us.

Hope: Even if we can't see them, right?

Bo: Right.

Arthur: EJ, I was Stefano's attorney for many years, and in all that time I never, ever betrayed his trust.

EJ: That is...what rather concerns me, your loyalty to my father, and then you have this mistaken idea of what his last wishes were.

Arthur: Yes, but I am your attorney now, and I give you my word that anything you tell me goes no further.

EJ: Good, wonderful. I certainly hope a man of your integrity would require no special measures to make sure that he took a secret to the grave, like my father did.

Arthur: [Chuckles]

Lucas: It's a nice day, isn't it? Sure beats going to the DiMera mansion, confronting EJ.

Sami: If you say so.

Lucas: I say so. You don't sound convinced.

Sami: It's not gonna stop me from trying to figure out what EJ's up to.

Lucas: We will do that. We'll figure it out, and we'll figure it out together.

Will: EJ is not gonna kill me.

Sonny: Will, you are in the clear. Don't give EJ anything to hold over your head.

Will: It's a little too late for that.

Sonny: Explain.

Will: Well, obviously, he has something on me already.

Sonny: Something besides you helping to break up him and Nicole?

Will: Yeah, and he's using it for all it's worth. [Chuckles]

Sonny: You're serious?

Will: Yes, otherwise I would never go back to work for him.

Sami: I knew it. It's EJ, isn't it? What's he done now?
