Caroline: Well, Ciara must be looking forward to summer break.

Bo: Yeah, yeah. It's gonna be a lot better for her than it was last summer.

Caroline: Ah, you and hope planning to take her on a vacation?

Bo: We actually have been talking about going up to the lake for, you know, maybe a week or so.

Caroline: Oh, good, good.

Bo: Ma, you were over to dinner a couple nights ago. You know how my girls are doing. What's going on?

Caroline: Rafe's back in town.

Bo: Gotta live somewhere.

Caroline: He and Sami are back together.

Bo: Oh... well, that kind of thing happens. I ought to know.

Caroline: Bo, after all he's done and put Sami through for six months-- the way he talked to her before he left? No. No. Something is very wrong.

Rafe: Hi.

Sami: I thought one of us was actually gonna get some sleep.

Rafe: Trust me, I tried. Just couldn't stop thinking about what our next move should be.

Sami: Yeah? How's that going?

Rafe: Great. I keep coming back to the same thing. The DiMeras, they might already be onto me. The creature, he tried to kill you last night. We don't have a choice here, Sami. We gotta go to the cops.

Adrienne: Ah, Chloe, hi.

Chloe: Hi, Adrienne. Is Justin around? His secretary said he was here.

Adrienne: Oh.

Chloe: Not that I don't want to talk to you.

Adrienne: It's okay. But you just missed him. Is it important?

Chloe: Actually, I just wanted to thank him-- well, the both of you-- for helping me get a visit with parker.

Adrienne: It was so good to see you with him again.

Chloe: Yeah, can you believe he's almost ready to crawl? And he knew me. I know he did.

Chloe: The woman from social services just called, and she said that the visit went really well. And hopefully that means I get to see him again soon.

Adrienne: Well, that just makes my day.

Chloe: Mine too. You know, for the first time in a really long time, I feel almost happy.

Gus: I still can't get used to the idea of your having a son.

Vivian: Have you forgotten about Philip--my darling Philip?

Gus: Sorry, madam, I meant a son who wasn't a stolen embryo.

Vivian: Gus, I gave birth to him. He's my son. And don't call him whatever it is you just called him. And as for Quinn, he's certainly never acted like a son.

Gus: He came a very long way to tell you he wants nothing to do with you.

Vivian: Your point?

Gus: One has to wonder what he does want, doesn't one?

Vivian: Oh, oh, speak of the devil.

Quinn: Who the hell are you?

Vivian: This is Gus. He is my assistant.

Quinn: Get lost.

Gus: Lovely meeting you. Good luck. You're gonna need it.

Taylor: Okay, EJ. EJ, hey. You have to get up. You have to get out of here. No. Come on. Come on!

EJ: Ugh, you are bloody lucky I love you, because you're a right royal pain in my butt this morning.

Taylor: EJ, come on. Here.

EJ: I woke up this morning with you in my arms for the first time. So we are not doing two things. We are not talking about your sister, and I am not sneaking into my own house.

Taylor: Well, you have to.

EJ: Put the pants down. Put the pants down. Okay, I'll take it. Come here.

Taylor: [Giggles] You're so bad.

EJ: When I opened my eyes this morning... I saw you, and I realized I've never been happier in my entire life. I don't want things to go back to the way they were. Not ever.

Nicole: When's the last time you saw EJ?

Chad: Uh, yesterday. Is something wrong? He's not in any kind of trouble, now, is he?

Nicole: Well, if he's doing what I think he's doing, he's gonna be in a lot more trouble that you would believe.

Adrienne: To the beginning of better times.

Chloe: I'm afraid to get my hopes up.

Adrienne: Mm. I know how that feels.

Chloe: The day of parker's christening, I thought I'd gotten everything I ever wanted. And then, in a church full of people, I find out that he is Philip's baby and not Daniel's. Everything went seriously downhill after that.

Adrienne: Well, it takes a strong person to bring herself back from something like that.

Chloe: I don't have a choice. Not if I want to see parker again.

Adrienne: You miss him so.

Chloe: I do. But giving voice lessons and working with kids, it's really helped me.

Adrienne: Yeah? So anybody got talent?

Chloe: Yeah. Actually, this one girl, her name is Sophie, and she's kind of geeky, like I was. I had her listen to Maria callas singing Tosca. Oh, my gosh, you should have seen the look on her face.

Adrienne: Chloe, you are gonna change her life.

Chloe: I would settle for changing my own.

Adrienne: But you're doing it, one thing at a time.

Chloe: I even--

Adrienne: What? Come on. Come on, spill it. What?

Chloe: Well...I even met a really nice guy.

Quinn: You want anything, mom? Coffee? Hemlock?

Vivian: No, I'd just like to know why you wanted to see me again.

Quinn: Curiosity, mostly.

Vivian: You keep telling yourself that. You may hate me, but you can't stay away... because blood is blood.

Quinn: I wrote you off when I was a kid.

Vivian: You must want something from me. What is it? Money?

Quinn: Maybe I just want to torture you. You ever been tortured by someone who's wired a lot like you are?

Vivian: I don't know what your father told you about me, but I am not a monster.

Quinn: What if I am?

Bo: Sami did call while I was away.

Caroline: Oh, she did?

Bo: Yeah.

Caroline: What did she want?

Bo: She wanted to know if I had seen any difference in Rafe over at the job.

Caroline: Uh-huh. What'd you tell her?

Bo: Well, that yeah, I definitely saw a difference. But I think she was just trying to reassure herself that she'd done the right thing by leaving him.

Caroline: Well, he got to her somehow. You know, he came home late last night when I was taking care of the kids.

Bo: Oh...you let him have it?

Caroline: Yes. Both barrels.

Bo: Surprise, surprise. How'd he react?

Caroline: He said he was very sorry for what he put Sami through-- the weird thing is, I wanted to believe him. If he's a con man... he's one of the best.

Bo: I'm gonna take a little trip over there.

Caroline: As a cop or an uncle?

Bo: Oh, I'll start out as an uncle, and we'll see how it goes. Love you.

Caroline: Love you too.

Sami: Come on, Rafe, we can't go to the cops.

Rafe: Why not? Just based on what that jerk tried to do to you last night.

Sami: Because we can't. We can handle him, okay. We can handle this.

Rafe: Oh, yeah, 'cause that's going so well.

Sami: Look, I have been in plenty of dangerous situations in my life, and I'm still here, right? It worked out.

Rafe: Very reassuring.

Sami: Okay. Okay, I'm sorry. It was totally my fault. I should not have gone down there and confronted him alone. I promise it won't happen again.

Rafe: What if he escapes, Sami? What if he comes after you, or after the kids?

Sami: I get it. It's dangerous. It's even more dangerous to go to the cops, though.

Rafe: Yeah, I just don't get that.

Sami: Are you serious? EJ and Stefano have all those cops bribed! Like the guy who lured you down to the pier. Who knows how many other cops they have on the take? And all the judges.

Rafe: Sami, listen to me. The only person that needs to know is your uncle Bo. That's it.

Sami: Yes, he's my uncle, but he is also the police commissioner. Look, I just don't trust that the DiMeras won't find out. Okay? We have an opportunity here. We can either take advantage of this situation and pay them back for what they did to us, or we can go to the cops. And then EJ and Stefano will find out, and then we are screwed.

Abigail: Lexie. Dr. Carver. Hi.

Lexie: Hi, Abigail. Are you going on your lunch?

Abigail: Right. Yeah, yeah.

Lexie: Oh. Good. Well, Abe and I are meeting at the Brady pub. Would you like to join us?

Abigail: Oh, yeah, I would love to, but I'm actually having lunch with Chad today, so...

Lexie: Oh...well. Sounds great. Have a good time.

Abigail: Yeah, I hope I do.

Lexie: What's that supposed to mean?

Abigail: Well, I really like Chad a lot, but I also like my job a lot. And you're my supervisor, and he's your brother. And if things with Chad and me don't work out, then there's no--

Lexie: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Has anyone ever told you you think too much?

Abigail: Chad does. Yeah, all the time.

Lexie: Don't worry. I'm watching out for Chad, okay? If my father or EJ try to get their hooks into him, they'll have to deal with me. So you go, have a good time. Don't worry about Chad being a big, bad DiMera, okay?

Abigail: Yeah. Thanks.

Chad: All right, I want to know what kind of trouble EJ is in.

Nicole: Look, if you're gonna live here in the manse, it'd be a good idea for you to learn not to ask a lot of direct questions.

Chad: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. You started this. You came in here asking me if I've seen EJ. I said no. You said he's in some kind of trouble. What am I supposed to do?

Nicole: Realize that I am in a bad mood and keep walking!

Chad: Did your sister ask a lot of questions? I mean, is that why she doesn't live here anymore?

Nicole: Something like that, yeah.

Chad: Huh. That's too bad. She was nice.

Nicole: Don't ever say that to me again, okay?

Taylor: I am staying here under an assumed name so Nicole won't find out that I am still in Salem.

EJ: Right. And that's the first thing that has to stop. No. Uh-uh. You have every right to lead your own life.

Taylor: Okay, maybe. Maybe. But if Nicole finds out that we were together, she is gonna call the cops and go singing like a canary.

EJ: I wouldn't be so sure about that.

Taylor: Why not?

EJ: Why don't you just leave Nicole to me? Okay?

Adrienne: Um, do you think it might be a little too soon to be involved with someone new?

Chloe: Why?

Adrienne: Well, you loved Daniel a lot, and it hasn't been that long.

Chloe: Well, there's no hope for Daniel and me. I guess I'm just not really good at being alone.

Adrienne: Well, then, tell me about this guy. Uh, where'd you meet?

Chloe: Actually, right here.

Adrienne: And you two just hit it off?

Chloe: Well, there were some bumps in the beginning, but it all got straightened out.

Vivian: Is that why you came here, to scare me?

Quinn: Is it working?

Vivian: No.

Quinn: I thought an ungrateful child was supposed to be like a serpent's tooth or something.

Vivian: All right, I get it. You hate me. So you came here to hate me to my face.

Quinn: I thought we discussed this yesterday. You vastly overestimate my obsession with you.

Vivian: Would you please stop talking in riddles and tell me what you want?

Adrienne: Well, is he a regular here, do I know him?

Chloe: Probably not. He's new in town. Actually, he's from Australia.

Adrienne: Mmm. What's he look like?

Chloe: Cute. Really cute.

Adrienne: [Laughs]

Chloe: His name is Quinn.

Adrienne: First name or last?

Chloe: First.

Adrienne: Quinn what?

Chloe: I'm starting to feel like I'm playing 20 questions here.

Adrienne: Oh, gosh, I'm sorry.

Chloe: No, no, it's me. I'm talking about making this good start, and the truth is, I don't even know Quinn's last name.

Quinn: When I was young, I wanted a mother. But you preferred to be Nicholas' mother and Lawrence's mother. I accepted that a long time ago. But it occurs to me, you could still be useful. I just haven't decided how yet.

Rafe: I'm just tired of doing things this way, Sami.

Sami: I know what you mean. You mean tired of doing things my way.

Rafe: No, I didn't-- listen, this happened to both of us. Okay? I just want a say in how we handle it. We're a team, right?

Sami: Okay. Of course.

[Knock on door]

Sami: Uncle Bo.

Bo: Hey, Sami.

Sami: Hey.

Bo: I haven't seen you since you got back. Thought I'd check in.

Sami: Yeah. Come in.

Bo: Yeah. Hey, man. You thinking about coming back to work?

Rafe: Well, yeah, if I can work for you.

Bo: [Chuckles] Well, we'll have to talk about that. Find out why you left, what you been up to. Why you came back.

Sami: Yeah, and he totally wants to have that conversation with you, but you know what, now isn't probably a good time.

Rafe: I think right now is a great time.

Caroline: Everything okay? I cut the crusts off the sandwich, and it's gluten-free bread.

Lexie: Thank you. Sweetheart? Honey?

Abe: Oh, I introduced him to James brown over the weekend. Now he won't listen to anything else.

[Laughter]

Lexie: Everything's great. Thank you, Caroline.

Caroline: Oh, no thanks necessary. I'm happy to do it. Mwah!

Theo: Taylor!

Taylor: [Chuckles] Hey. Hi, guys. Hey, you! How's my pal, huh?

Theo: I feel good.

Taylor: Awesome, so happy to hear that.

Lexie: So, um... what are you doing back in Salem?

Chad: So I can't even say I think your sister's nice?

Nicole: See, there you go asking direct questions again.

Chad: Okay, I'm sorry.

Nicole: Look, just don't ever mention her name around me again and we'll be fine. Okay?

EJ: Good morning. Chad, could you do me a small favor and bugger off?

Chad: No problem.

EJ: Thank you.

Nicole: Are you gonna tell me where you've been?

EJ: I was with Taylor last night.

Quinn: You check the shipment?

Top quality. Just like you promised.

Quinn: Pleasure doing business with you.

Quinn: Something else I think you might be interested in. Top quality there too, mate.

But not what I had in mind.

I'm willing to spend a lot of money, but I don't want a run-of-the-mill evening. The face, the body, the personality-- they've all gotta be exciting.

Quinn: Well, I've got just the perfect woman. But I don't represent her yet.

Adrienne: You, uh-- you don't know Quinn's last name?

Chloe: Well, he told me, but I didn't catch it, and now I feel too stupid to ask him.

Adrienne: You didn't see it on a credit card or anything?

Chloe: No, actually. He's always paid cash. But he says he's a salesman, and he seems like a really great guy.

Adrienne: Well, he better be. [Chuckles] Oh... she can get any man excited.

Quinn: And hit "e" over high "c" while she's doing it.

Bo: Gonna be kind of tough explaining some of the things you've done these last few months.

Rafe: Okay, well, you remember how I was investigating the DiMeras?

Bo: Yeah. I do.

Rafe: Mm-hmm.

Bo: Then you stopped.

Rafe: Yeah, well, I had the accident. I don't know if you recall, but I couldn't remember things. Everything was different. Not just at work, if you know what I mean. And I got frustrated. But the whole reason that I came back in town was because I found information out about the DiMeras. I mean, it's something I think is gonna be able to put them away for a long time.

Bo: What is it?

Rafe: It's just, um... I think I need a little bit more time to be able to nail 'em. Then I'll explain everything.

Bo: Hmm. Well, if you had said that a couple of months ago, I would have said, "okay, fine. Do what you gotta do." But since your accident, not so much. I mean, I went through that mess you left on your desk. You can't even put together a routine b&E. Ciara, Theo, they're afraid of you because of the way you treated them when you found them. How do I know you're not just jerking me around?

Sami: Because he's not.

Bo: Huh. Okay...so you know what he's working on.

Sami: Uncle Bo, I know that he is the man I fell in love with. I mean, that's why we're back together. I know I can trust him. I know he's not gonna let me down. He's not gonna let either of us down.

Abe: Hey, um... hey, guys, why don't we ask Caroline if she has some of your special mint chocolate chip ice cream, huh?

Theo: Chocolate chip!

Abe: That's your favorite. Come on. Let's go. You know, if you like James brown... all right.

Taylor: Well, you don't look too happy to see me.

Lexie: [Sighs] Taylor... okay, look, I'm always happy to see you.

Taylor: Really?

Lexie: Okay, yeah, I am. But look, I've got to admit, when you told me you decided to leave Salem, I-- I breathed a sigh of relief.

Taylor: I know. I know.

Lexie: Getting between my brother and Nicole-- that is no place for a nice girl like you.

Nicole: You were with Taylor? All night?

EJ: All night.

Nicole: Well, that was a big mistake. I told you what I would do if you broke your promise, EJ.

Nicole: Hey!

EJ: However, we did not talk about what I would do if you made good on your threats. Why don't we talk about that now?

[Cell phone rings]

Chloe: Quinn?

Quinn: This idea you had... taking things slow.

Chloe: Uh-huh.

Quinn: Mm-hmm. Very clever. I can't stop thinking about you.

Chloe: I wasn't trying to be clever. I was just hoping that you didn't get the wrong idea about me again.

Quinn: I had a really good time last night.

Chloe: Me too.

Quinn: And I was wondering if you're free for lunch.

Chloe: Well, let me check my very busy schedule. What do you know, you're in luck.

Quinn: Know anything about a place called chez rouge?

Chloe: Yeah, it's expensive.

Quinn: Well, nothing's too good for you, Chloe, so why don't you meet me down on the pier, and we can walk there together?

Chloe: Okay. It's a date. [Sighs] Thank you.

Vivian: Well... what did you think of him?

Gus: Well, he's not exactly the chatty sort.

Vivian: No, but when he says something, it's, mmm, very witty.

Gus: You sure he's your son?

Vivian: Oh, yes.

Gus: Did he tell you what he wants?

Lexie: So you never left?

Taylor: I couldn't leave EJ.

Taylor: Look, I have been holed up in a hotel room. I've been ordering take-out and watching really bad movies on cable.

Lexie: Taylor, what kind of a life is that?

Taylor: Well, it's not much of one.

Lexie: No, it isn't.

Taylor: No, which is why EJ said that we can't do this anymore.

Lexie: Oh. So it's over.

Taylor: No. No, but look, look. Lex, EJ said that he would deal with things with Nicole.

Nicole: I don't think you listen very well, honey. If anything happens to me, you know the drill. My lawyer sends out an envelope to all those important people, and then they will find out what you and daddy did to Rafe down in the basement.

EJ: Hmm. There is, of course, just one small problem with this plan of yours. If you go missing, nobody can tell your lawyer. In fact, I don't think anybody would even notice.

Lexie: Deal with Nicole?

Taylor: Yeah.

Lexie: How?

Taylor: I don't know. He didn't say.

Lexie: Taylor, look, I-- I know you love my brother. Okay, so do I. But I don't think you understand what he's capable of.

Taylor: Yeah, but he'll be careful. Come on, won't he?

Taylor: Look, Nicole is blackmailing him. Lex...he never loved her. She knew he never did. And someone needs to make her accept that.

Lexie: Taylor... whatever's gone on between you and Nicole, I know that you still care about her.

Nicole: That's how you talk to me? If it wasn't for me, you'd still be running around trying to prove that Sami shot you in the head. You wouldn't even be able to see Sydney or Johnny.

EJ: You have been well compensated for that.

Nicole: Right, I've been well compensated. I have been well compensated. I've been well compensated while you've been doing the horizontal mamba with my sister!

EJ: Whoa! Whoa! Hey! Hey!

Bo: So you believe in him again?

Sami: I do.

Bo: And all the problems you had before?

Sami: They are in the past.

Bo: And I'm right in presuming that you know what he's got on EJ? Sami, talk to me. Look at me. Tell me what the hell's going on here.

[Cell phone ringing]

Bo: Sorry. Brady.

Abigail: I'm sorry if I'm bothering you, Bo, but hope gave my mother this number in case we had an emergency.

Bo: And this is an emergency?

Abigail: I'm at Chad's, the DiMera house, and EJ and his wife are having a huge fight.

[Glass shatters]

Nicole: How dare you!

EJ: Put it down!

Abigail: It sounds like they're trying to kill each other. It's really bad. You wouldn't believe this.

Bo: Yeah, I kinda would.

Abigail: Can you come down here? I'm afraid that something really bad is gonna happen.

Chloe: I can't tell you what it was like to hold my baby again.

Quinn: I'm happy for you, Chloe.

Chloe: Do you have any kids?

Quinn: Me? No.

Chloe: Have you ever been married?

Quinn: No.

Chloe: You know, I realized there's so much that I don't know about you. You said you're a salesman, but you never told me what you sell.

Quinn: Actually, I sell people.

Quinn: I'm a talent manager.

Quinn: Well, I found out if I let it be known, people tend to want me to make them a star. So I had to be sure if you were interested in me or in what I could do for you.

Chloe: I would never take advantage of you like that.

Quinn: You know, it's funny you should say that. I asked you to lunch today because I showed a photo of you to a client of mine this morning, and he wants to meet you.

Chloe: Really?

Quinn: How would you like to go back to work?

Chloe: Well, I am working. I'm giving voice lessons. It doesn't pay that much, but I like it.

Quinn: So you've given up wanting to be a performer?

Chloe: No, but... so this client of yours, he's really interested in me?

Quinn: Definitely.

Chloe: Well, tell me everything.

Bo: You listen to me. Don't get involved or try to intervene. I'm on my way. Hey. This is something I have to take care of. That doesn't mean you're off the hook. You sure you know what you're doing?

Sami: Yeah. I'm sure.

Sami: Okay. Of course. Yes, you're right. And, look, I should have been with you last night. I know that. How is Gabi?

Rafe: She's, you know, she's good. She had her appendix out on the night of her prom, so...

Sami: I know, but you saved the day. I can't believe you did all that for her. I wish I'd been there to help you plan everything.

Rafe: Why did you not come back to the hospital last night? You knew that I was gonna--why?

Sami: Because I couldn't stop thinking about the creature. Because I couldn't--I was staring at this stupid necklace, and I just kept thinking about him and everything he put us through and how long I put up with him and lived with him. And I just lost it, you know. I wanted to confront him and... Rafe, I don't know how to get past what he did to us.

Rafe: I tell you how we get past it. We take him down. And EJ and Stefano. Once and for all.

Taylor: Look, I'm not naive about EJ. I know what he was.

Lexie: Do you?

Taylor: Yes. And I would not be with him if I didn't sincerely believe that he had changed. He's not gonna hurt Nicole. Would he?

Lexie: If Nicole gets between EJ and what he wants, there's no...

Abe: Oh, man, that was good, wasn't it? Uh-huh. Hey, I've got a meeting in a half hour, and we got to get Theo back to school.

Lexie: Right. Right. Oh.

Taylor: So good seeing all you, especially you.

[Laughter]

Theo: You're back here now.

Taylor: Yup.

Abe: Oh, does this mean you're gonna stick around?

Taylor: Yep. I hope so.

EJ: Whoa. Come on. Enough, all right, enough!

Nicole: Do I have your attention now? Huh?

EJ: Listen, if you go to the police and you inform on my father and me, do you think he's just going to take this lying down?

Nicole: Oh, you are just trying to scare me.

EJ: Whoa!

[Glass shatters]

EJ: [Yelling] Oh, no, no, no. Okay? Enough? All right? Stop. Stop. I'm just trying to make you recognize that, if my father and I go to jail, you lose everything. All right? Everything. I lose custody of Johnny, I lose custody of Sydney, and Samantha will make sure you never see them again, you understand? So just do the smart thing. Take a very, very generous divorce settlement. Vivian: Yes, me too. No, he's convinced that he's not gonna tell me what he's after. Do you know when I left him all those years ago, I thought it was the best thing for both of us. Of course his father didn't give me any choice. And now Quinn thinks I preferred Lawrence and his son.

Gus: It might be good to find out where the intervening years have taken him.

Vivian: I know. I've got to find out what my son's story is.

Chloe: Well, I'm gonna need some time before I meet this client of yours. I haven't been doing my daily exercises. I'm gonna have to call my vocal coach and see if she can fit me in.

Rafe: What'd he say about it?

Sami: Well, he didn't--he didn't really say anything, but I just got the feeling that it meant something to him. Something important.

Rafe: Maybe it was a trophy from one of his conquests or victims.

Sami: I could tell he was gonna kill me. He had no problems strangling me to death. If you hadn't come in, he probably would have. So who knows what he's capable of? Or what he did before he came here.

Rafe: Well, maybe if we find out who she was or what happened to her, we'll have what we need.

Taylor: Okay. I can't call you, EJ. I can't. I will just--I'll wait for you to call me. Mom. I broke my promise to you, mom. You asked me to take care of Nicole, and I am not. I wish you were here to take care of her. And me.

EJ: What is he doing here?

Bo: Well, I got a call about a domestic disturbance.

EJ: Right, well, the caller is mistaken because everything is under control here.

Nicole: Actually, commissioner Brady, he's lying.

Bo: No.

Chloe: You go to hell.

Nicole: I want him to hear every word I have to say about him.
