Daniel: I am. Come on in. Come in. Did we have, like, dinner plans and I just completely forgot?

Victor: No, no.

Daniel: I've been really busy and just...

Victor: I just happened to be out and about, and I thought I'd stop by and see if you wanted to get something to eat, watch a ball game.

Daniel: Are you feeling okay?

Victor: I'm feeling fine.

Daniel: I would, really, but I...

Victor: You have plans. Unless you just sit around the house in a sport coat all the time.

Daniel: Sorry. I--really, I would like to talk.

Victor: This date, is it with Jennifer?

Daniel: Uh, yeah.

Victor: You like her?

Daniel: She's a lot of fun.

Victor: Well, she's more than that. She's smart. She supports herself. Taking the responsibility for two children when that idiot husband of hers took a powder. In short, she's everything that Chloe is not.

Abigail: Whoa, excuse me. Who are you and what have you done with my mother?

Jennifer: Okay, all right, just look at me and tell me what you think and be honest.

Abigail: That you're seeing Daniel tonight and you are bringing out the heavy artillery because you really like him. Am I right?

Nicole: [Crying] Mom... mommy... Brady said that I push everyone that I love in my life away, but that is... that's not true. I... I just wanted to be close to Sydney and Johnny and be happy with EJ. Rafe: Hey, Sami. So I just got back from seeing my double. And he wasn't exactly helpful. Yeah, surprise, surprise. So basically I have very little clue as how to act with Stefano and EJ still. Anyway, I'd say give your best to my grandma, but I guess she still hates my guts. Like pretty much everyone else in this town. All right. Hey, get home soon so we can work on the next phase of our plan. I love you. Okay, so... [Jangling] Well, all righty then. Either our boy's into cross-dressing or he held onto this for some other reason.

Javier: [Grunting] [Groaning] I got to get the frick out of here. Got to get out of here before that bastard Hernandez figures everything out and turns me over to the damn cops. [Sighs] Looks like you may be worth something after all. You're a real idiot, you know that? Idiot. Shouldn't have taken that souvenir. Mm. God. If Hernandez connects me to Fay, baby, I'm toast. Stefano: So you want to eliminate our friend yourself, huh?

Melanie: Oh, thank you. Maybe in a little bit. I'm gonna try and play some pool. We're having a tournament at the hospital, and I am representing the nurses of four west.

Melanie: Sort of.

Dario: [Laughs] Well, you just happen to be in luck, 'cause I am great.

Melanie: Oh, well. Actually you're working, and I don't...

Dario: Are you kidding me? Look at this place. It's almost empty. Come on. Rack 'em up.

Melanie: Well, I actually have a friend coming. He was gonna teach me.

Dario: I bet you he's not as good as me. Come on.

Melanie: Um...

Brady: Maybe your betting days should be over, Dario.

Rafe: Well, I know this isn't Sami's. So whose is it? Maybe that skank he picked up from the bar that night. Well, women you pick up from bars aren't usually the cameo-wearing type. Well, one more thing to figure out. Better do it before EJ and Stefano figure out that I'm not who they think I am.

EJ: Look, father, I want this over.

Stefano: Really? You want it so much that you are willing to see your children in a prison visiting room for the rest of your life?

EJ: I don't want that man anywhere near my children. I don't want him mucking around in my life. I want that guy dead.

[Knock at door]

EJ: What?

Chad: Oh, hey, I just came by to tell you I'm on my way out, so... is everything okay?

Abigail: I hope you know, young lady, that dressing like that can give a boy ideas.

Jennifer: Okay, will you stop that, please?

Abigail: Well, you don't want him to think you're that kind of girl.

Jennifer: You know, dating after all these years, it's not like riding a bicycle, you know?

Jennifer: Well, yeah, he's that, but I'm--what I'm trying to say to you is that I saw a picture of his first wife that died, Rebecca. She's beautiful. Okay, and then I see Chloe, and she's beautiful, and she is this incredibly sexy woman.

Abigail: Have you looked at yourself? You are a beautiful and sexy woman too.

Jennifer: Honey, but Daniel has a type. He has a type, and I'm not really convinced that that type is me, okay?

Abigail: Mom, one of those women died on him, and the other one had another dude's baby. So I'm pretty sure that Daniel needs another type.

Jennifer: Are you sure that you don't feel funny talking about this with me?

Abigail: Are you sure you're okay with me telling you that I am going out with Chad tonight?

Jennifer: Oh. You're going out with him? What does that mean?

Abigail: It means going out.

Jennifer: Even though he is part of the DiMera family?

Abigail: He is not like them. I've told you that. He--he brought me flowers.

Jennifer: Flowers? This is serious.

Abigail: It's not that serious. We're not moving nearly as fast as you and Daniel are.

Daniel: Okay, Victor, I do not want to have to say this to you again. Do not start in on Chloe.

Victor: You are a true gentleman, which I am not, so I can't make any promises.

Daniel: Okay, so she's just the villain in all this, and I'm sir Galahad? I went after Chloe while she was engaged to Lucas, turned her life upside-down without a thought.

Victor: Listen, let's talk about you and Jennifer. Is it serious?

Daniel: Yeah, it's starting to get that way. Which is why I'm going to slow things down tonight.

Nicole: Mom, last night, I... I said, "I love you, Sydney," and she said, "I wuv you, Nicole." [Laughs] Oh, and Johnny, he's such a great kid. I'm crazy about him.

Fay: So you still want to be part of their lives.

Nicole: Now that you're gone, they're the only people in the whole world who want to be with me. And if they weren't in my life... I don't know how I'd go on.

Fay: Sounds like you know what you have to do then.

Nicole: Yes, mom. I do know.

Stefano: Ah, well, Elvis and I, we were just talking about a business deal, see, and sometimes it just gets a little heated, you know?

Chad: Oh, okay, well, I won't bother you then.

Stefano: Where are you going?

Chad: I have a date.

Stefano: Ah, well, wait a minute. You probably could use a little money, no?

EJ: That was a very touching moment between a father and son.

Stefano: It certainly is a lot easier being affectionate with a son who is not talking about killing his enemy with his bare hands.

EJ: Well, I realize that my plan lacks some of the subtlety of your plan, father. But in order to protect your plan, I just had to go and drop my children off at Samantha's house. Because of your plan, they're living tonight with a grinning sociopath.

Stefano: [Grunts] All I have to do is make one call.

EJ: To your hitman. And what will he do, proceed with caution, whilst they live in that house with that maniac?

Stefano: He will check it out, he will make it look like an accident.

EJ: I told him what would happen if he crossed me. He did it anyway.

Stefano: That's no reason to get sloppy.

EJ: Father, this guy has to understand, I don't make empty threats.

Stefano: Who are you trying to prove this to, huh? Him or me?

EJ: What do you mean by that?

Stefano: I know why yesterday you tried to pull away from a part of our business and today you want our double to shut up, hmm? When were you planning on telling me that your back has been against the wall because Nicole is trying to blackmail you?

Melanie: Guys.

Melanie: You know what, Dario, next time you get in a little bind, hopefully Brady and I are nowhere near you.

Melanie: You know what, no, because we came here to play pool. Now how do I do this?

Jennifer: Why would you think that Daniel and I are getting serious?

Abigail: I have eyes. I see the way he looks at you.

Victor: Why would you want to slow things down with a great gal like Jennifer?

Daniel: Because--because I don't want to react to a woman without thinking anymore. No.

Victor: Is this because you're gun-shy about what happened with Chloe?

Daniel: Hell, yeah, I'm gun-shy. And so is Jennifer, even though she doesn't want to be.

Victor: Because of Deveraux, you mean.

Daniel: And because of something that happened beforehand, yeah.

Victor: Lawrence Alamain.

Daniel: You know about that?

Victor: Look, Jennifer was hurt badly. But so were you. But don't let it make you so cautious you're gonna let go of a good thing.

Daniel: Okay, all right, you know, I'll keep that in mind. Okay? I got to...

Victor: All right, well, listen, I didn't just come over here to give you advice. I have something I want you to see.

Rafe: That's great. No engraving. Well, a dead end.

[Knock at door]

Nicole: Oh, my god. What are you doing back in town?

Javier: Hey! Somebody! Anybody! [Sighs] I got to get out of this place before Hernandez goes through my stuff and finds that cameo. He might just figure it out. He's gonna turn me over to the police. Or worse... the DiMeras. [Straining]

Stefano: All right. What has she got?

EJ: She has proof that we held Rafe in the basement.

Stefano: Mm, beautiful. Does she know what happened to Rafael Hernandez and also the double?

EJ: No. No, no, she thinks that we were doing some kind of mind experiment on him, and that's why he's acting so differently.

Stefano: Okay, it's not as bad as it could be I suppose. Why didn't you tell me?

EJ: 'Cause I wanted to handle it.

Stefano: Oh, yeah, because you've done such a wonderful job so far.

EJ: I wasn't the one who brought him into this house in the first place.

Stefano: You are the one who married a piranha like Nicole. And then you started drooling over her sister on your wedding day. Oh, my god, this is a debacle. It's all screwed up because of you. You know, the first minute that you laid eyes on Taylor, you became useless.

EJ: All right, look, the two of us tearing into one another is not gonna help with anything. The common enemy has decided to call himself Rafe Hernandez, so if you like walking around as a free guy as much as I do, I suggest we start to focus on him, all right?

Nicole: Are you going to invite me in?

Rafe: Depends. What do you want?

Nicole: Well, what are you doing here? I thought you left, and I heard Sami's divorcing you.

Rafe: Well...

Nicole: But I guess I was wrong.

Victor: I was showing these to Jennifer last night, and it occurred to me that you might want some copies, so I had some made.

Daniel: You showed her pictures of me when I was a kid?

Victor: You weren't that funny looking.

Daniel: [Groans] Oh, man.

Victor: I've always been fascinated by a mullet. Business in the front, party in the back.

Daniel: You're killing me, you know that, right? Oh, my... gosh, I haven't seen that in years. We were so young. Jennifer saw this?

Victor: She said Rebecca was a beautiful woman.

Daniel: She was. This I know.

Victor: Just like Jennifer.

Daniel: Did you give her the same pitch that you're giving me right now?

Victor: Why would I do that?

Daniel: Oh, I don't know. Maybe because you hate Chloe and you want her to find out that I've moved on.

Victor: Just don't screw this up.

Jennifer: Oh. Oh, boy. Hello? Hey, aunt Maggie. Are Daniel and I going to see you at chez rouge tonight? You are kidding me. What? Is everyone okay? Oh, my goodness, aunt Maggie, are you sure you can? Umm, no, that would be great. That would actually be even better.

Stefano: Rafael Hernandez is dead.

EJ: Right, and your double's supposed to be long gone, but he's not, is he? And Samantha wants a life with him? He's going to go along with that?

Stefano: Because he thinks he can get more money out of us.

EJ: Father, the only thing this guy's getting is my watching the color drain from his eyes and his knowing I didn't have somebody else do it, I did it myself.

Stefano: A few seconds of triumph is not worth a lifetime in prison. I'm not gonna let you do something that stupid, ay.

Rafe: You still haven't told me why you're here.

Nicole: You first.

Rafe: Okay. Sami and I are trying to work things out.

Nicole: Oh.

Rafe: Now it'd be your turn.

Nicole: Dirty kitty.

Rafe: Excuse me?

Nicole: Come on. You know. Dirty kitty. Sydney loves this thing so much she won't let anybody wash it. She left it over at EJ's.

Rafe: Right. Yeah, well, the thing is, Sami, she's with her kids. She took 'em to see their grandma.

Nicole: Okay. Well, would you just let her know I dropped it by?

Rafe: Yeah.

Nicole: Not that it'll make a difference. She hates me anyway. But I thought you and I had a truce. You know? I mean, I love Sydney and Johnny. You know that, right?

Rafe: Mm-hmm. Yeah, well, the thing is that EJ, he kind of shoved you down Sami's throat, so...

Nicole: All right, well, if it makes you feel any better, being married to EJ hasn't been a bed of roses for me either.

Rafe: What'd you think it was gonna be?

Nicole: Okay, all right. Can we--can you not be so snarky? Can't you just flirt with me like you usually do? You're the only positive reinforcement I have these days.

Daniel: So there goes our reservations.

Jennifer: The chef managed to plan a meal for two, me and you.

Daniel: Resourceful chef.

Jennifer: Very, and it's being delivered here as we speak.

Daniel: Okay, so that explains the candlelight and-- and the music.

Jennifer: Yeah. I'm trying to recreate chez rouge. But just for the two of us. So what do you think?

Melanie: [Laughing]

Abigail: Hey, sorry I'm late. My mom wanted to bond. Melanie. Hi.

EJ: So if you do happen to get caught, and I sincerely hope that you don't, that should start you up with your own private security company or whatever it is you do.

Melanie: a whole new life! Sorry things got out of hand. Brady doesn't actually expect you to pay him back.

Dario: Oh, he's getting back every penny.

Daniel: [Laughs]

Rafe: Well, what's EJ have to do with what happened to me?

Nicole: Don't worry. I promised I wouldn't tell EJ that you kissed me, and I didn't. And I didn't tell Sami either.

Rafe: But that's not what you were talking about earlier.

[Cell phone ringing]

Rafe: Adam.

Adam: Detective Hernandez.

Rafe: Hey, how are things down in the squad room? I guess you heard I'm back on the force.

Adam: Yeah. Listen, the reason I'm calling, I just picked up your brother.

Rafe: On what charge?

Adam: Shoplifting.

Rafe: I'm gonna kill that kid.

Adam: Yeah, well, he's got some priors. I thought you might want to come down and take care of this.

Rafe: Did you run him yet?

Adam: No. I'm holding him down at the pier.

EJ: Nice job. You should be on one of those cop TV shows. [Sighs] Sorry, father. I'm gonna have to take care of this one personally.

Melanie: Why do you always fly off the handle when I'm trying to be friendly?

Dario: What are you, a shrink or something?

Abigail: Yeah, some of it.

Nicole: Well, I can tell by your mood that you and EJ know Rafe has returned to our fair city and has reunited with Sami.

Stefano: We know.
