[Sami picks up Christmas wrapping paper]

Rafe: Hey, you need help?

Sami: Are you kidding me? I'm done.

Rafe: Timing's everything.

Sami: Yeah, you spend two months buying presents and wrapping them up. And then they open it all and make a mess in 20 minutes.

Rafe: You glad Christmas is over, hmm? I just wanted to tell you, I know it was hard for you, but I just--I think you did a great job. Will and Allie, it was so nice for them.

Sami: Thanks. I hope so. I have a confession to make.

Rafe: You don't like the earrings. You don't.

Sami: No, I do. I love them.

Rafe: You don't. I can take them back.

Sami: No, they're awesome.

Rafe: Okay. Then what else could it be? It's not like you snuck over to EJ's to see Johnny and Sydney.

Nicole: Patty-cake, patty-cake, baker's man, bake me a cake as fast as you can. And roll it and whatever else it is you do with it. And mark it with a... mark it with a "D." And put it in the oven with Sydney--

EJ: I hope that "D" is for DiMera.

Nicole: Oh, well, I can't say mark it with a "B." She's not a baby anymore. I can't believe I missed that time with her.

EJ: Hey, sweetie.

Nicole: How's Johnny?

EJ: He's, uh... he had a rough night. He's in some pain.

Nicole: Poor little guy.

EJ: Listen, I-I, uh--I wanted to thank you for, uh, staying over and helping.

Nicole: EJ, I told you, that's what I want. I broke up with Brady because you said I had to. I would do anything to be with Sydney.

EJ: Actually, she has a-an appointment this morning with an ophthalmologist.

Nicole: Why?

EJ: No reason. They're just gonna make sure there's no evidence of retinoblastoma.

Nicole: Oh, my God.

EJ: It's fine, Nicole. It's a precaution, okay? I'm sure it's going to be nothing. Anyway, look, the point is my Father and I have some business that we need to attend to, and I was hoping that you would be able to take Sydney to the appointment.

Nicole: Are you kidding? Of course I would. [Silly voice] Of course, I would.

EJ: Wonderful. Okay. I'll meet you at the hospital.

Nicole: [Normal voice] What time's the appointment?

EJ: Uh, what time is the appointment? 11:00, I think.

Nicole: Oh, um, Chloe's baby's christening is this morning.

EJ: Okay, um... I'm sure I can get Mary to do it. You can spend the rest of your life with someone else's baby.

Nicole: Oh, I...

Daniel: Well, he was up, but now he's back asleep.

Chloe: Aw, look, it's the little star of the show.

Daniel: Yeah. How come I get the feeling this is more than a show to you, hmm?

Chloe: Yeah, my faith is really important to me. It's gotten me through some really rough times. I want Parker to always have that... to know that even if we're not there to take care of him that he's never alone.

Caroline: I can't believe you're leaving Salem.

Stephanie: Not yet. We're just going to Baltimore to find an apartment.

Caroline: I'm gonna miss you.

Stephanie: I'm gonna miss you, although I am glad to be getting away.

Caroline: From Melanie and Philip and knowing that he's the father of Chloe's baby.

Stephanie: Knowing that and knowing that Philip and Chloe don't even know. It hasn't been easy.

Caroline: But you know you did the right thing. Stephanie?

Nathan: All right, off duty.

Maxine: Hey, doc, I hear you're going to be leaving us pretty soon. Going off to Baltimore.

Nathan: Yeah.

Maxine: Good luck up there.

Nathan: Thank you, Maxine.

Maxine: You stay in touch, you hear? Or I'm gonna get you. [Chuckles] Hi, Mel. Oh, it's time to go pass out meds.

Melanie: So Baltimore... what are you doing there?

Nathan: Moving there with Stephanie.

Philip: Morning.

Victor: Any signs of life from Vivian?

Philip: Still snoring when I walked past her door.

Victor: Good. I want to have a talk with you, and I don't want any interruptions.

Philip: What kind of talk?

Victor: About the christening--your being the baby's Godfather. Are you aware of the responsibilities?

Philip: I think so. Over-the-top presents on Christmas and his birthday, always have gum when he's around, always be the guy he can talk to when he doesn't want to talk to his parents about girls. How am I doing?

Victor: Fine. There's a little more to it than that.

Philip: Like what?

Victor: Well, should the need arise, you may have to step in and be that child's father. Are you ready for that?

Stephanie: Don't you worry, Grandma. Of course I wish you had never changed Chloe's paternity-test results. But I promised you I wasn't going to say anything, so I won't.

Caroline: You did the right thing.

Stephanie: Mom wouldn't agree.

Caroline: She's halfway across the world. She won't know. And nobody will know. What you should be thinking about is what a wonderful life you're going to have with Nathan in Baltimore.

Stephanie: I love you.

Caroline: Aw.

Stephanie: [Chuckles] Oh, man, what would I do without you?

Caroline: Oh.

Stephanie: I got to go. We'll be in touch.

Caroline: Yes.

Kayla: Oh, hey, baby, I'm glad I got your voice mail. Well, I got to Salem, finally. Um, but I don't want to wake you guys up. I can't wait to surprise the family. All right, give Joe a kiss for me and take one for yourself. I love you. Ooo whatcha got there?

Chloe: And we have woken up the Godmother.

Carly: Oh, I got up all on my own. Good morning.

Chloe: Good morning.

Carly: How's my Godson?

Daniel: He's a little sleepy and a little stinky.

Carly: Oh.

Daniel: So bye-bye.

Chloe: Thank you, honey. So you ready for some coffee?

Carly: In a minute. How you feeling?

Chloe: I am feeling unbelievably lucky. I mean, what I did, I could've ruined my life and my marriage.

Carly: You have to put that behind you. Daniel is that baby's father, and no one out there even knows that there's the possibility that he might not have been.

Chloe: Thank God. We both could've lost everything.

Melanie: What's in Baltimore?

Nathan: Crab cakes, clam chowder, fellowship at Johns Hopkins.

Melanie: Wow.

Nathan: Yeah. Steph and I are flying out today, actually, to go look for an apartment.

Melanie: You look happy.

Nathan: Thank you. I am.

Melanie: I'm gonna miss your arrogant self.

Nathan: I'm gonna miss your big, fat mouth. Ooh.

Melanie: Maybe not. I really will miss you.

Nathan: Get over here. Ah.

Nicole: You know, EJ, Chloe is my only friend.

EJ: I don't care. I expect you to make Sydney your first priority, Nicole.

Nicole: Do I have to remind you if it wasn't for me that Sydney and Johnny wouldn't be living here?

EJ: Do I have to remind you that if it weren't for me, you wouldn't get within a mile of Sydney? See now, whether you like it or not, you serve at the pleasure of the king.

Nicole: Fine, your majesty. I will call Chloe and tell her I can't make it because something came up.

EJ: That's a very good idea.

Nicole: Nothing is more important to me than this little girl. Come on, sweetheart. We're gonna go on an adventure. Yes, we are.

Sami: How did you know?

Rafe: When you ducked out of church early on Christmas Eve, yeah, well, let's just say I didn't think you were doing any last-minute Christmas shopping.

Sami: I had to work on some new techniques. They're getting wise to me.

Rafe: Uh-huh.

Sami: Are you mad?

Rafe: Um, well, considering you're the person that I care about most in this world and whatever it was that you did you seem to have gotten away with... no, I'm not mad. Your son was hurting. It's Christmas Eve, and EJ's being a total fool.

Sami: And I didn't get away with anything. I didn't get to talk to Johnny. They're my kids, and I didn't get to hug them or speak to them on Christmas. I just looked through the window. And the icing on the cake, of course, is that Nicole was there celebrating with my children.

Rafe: I'm sorry. I'm really sorry.

Sami: It's just awful. You know, I mean, Johnny is still recovering from major surgery and adjusting to his new life, and--and I can't help him. I-I can't be there for him.

Rafe: Well, it's not gonna be like this forever. I promise.

Sami: I know I couldn't get through it without you. So I have to, um, get Allie ready and take her over to the hospital for an appointment.

Rafe: Daniel says it's not a big deal. It's nothing to worry about, you know.

Sami: Right. If it were anyone else, that would probably be true. But since it's me, it'll probably be the worst-case scenario.

Rafe: I wish I could go with you, but I have to meet your dad.

Sami: Any news from Bo and Hope? Can you believe this family you married into?

Rafe: [Chuckles] Not really. But I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Let me know what the doctor says.

Sami: Yes, of course. I will--I will text you.

Rafe: Okay. And, uh, try and stay out of trouble.

Sami: Trouble? Me? It's a hospital. What could possibly go wrong?

Philip: Look, Dad, I think you're taking this whole Godfather thing a bit seriously.

Victor: Why?

Philip: I don't know. I think it's just something Daniel and Chloe asked me to do because I'm Melanie's husband.

Victor: Yes, well, I thought that too when Daniel's father asked me to be his Godfather-- Christmas, birthdays, take him out for a drink when he's 21--no big deal. And then his parents had that accident. And there was nobody else to stand up but me, so I did. And I'm glad I did.

Philip: And you think I need to be prepared to do the same thing?

Victor: Well, anything happens to Daniel or Chloe, God forbid, you and Melanie would be that kid's family.

Philip: I never thought of it that way.

Victor: Well, think about it now.

Philip: I mean, he's a cool little kid. Maybe it's 'cause he's Melanie's brother, but... I don't know--he gets to me.

Victor: You'll be fine.

Philip: Yes, I will. And it'll be good practice for when Melanie and I have kids.

Victor: Oh? Putting your shoulder to the wheel, are you?

Philip: That is none of your business.

Victor: [Chuckles] All right, lecture's over.

Philip: Dad... I hope to be as good a Godfather as you've been to Daniel. And someday I hope I'll be as good a father as you've been to me.

Stephanie: Hey.

Nathan: Hey, you.

Stephanie: Are you ready?

Nathan: Yeah.

Melanie: Uh, Nathan says you guys are moving to Maryland.

Stephanie: Yeah.

Melanie: What a great opportunity.

Stephanie: Johns Hopkins-- doesn't get any better than that, yeah.

Melanie: I hope you get everything you want. Um, I got to go. I got to go. I'm gonna be late. My brother's getting christened.

Stephanie: So everything's okay with Daniel and Chloe?

Melanie: You mean did I tell Daniel that Chloe slept with another man? No. No, absolutely not. I'm not going to. Chloe talked me out of it. She said it's a one-time thing. She said it didn't mean anything. She said it'll never happen again. They have a son, my brother. Daniel's the father. Why would I want to ruin that?

Stephanie: Well, yeah, I'm sorry. We have to run. We have some errands to run before we go to the airport, so...

Nathan: Okay. Uh, so... take care.

Melanie: You too.

Roman: Bo's too smart to leave much of a trail. But I do know that he and Hope are together.

Caroline: Why would he help her escape from prison? Why do anything so dangerous?

Roman: Well, we're not gonna find that out till we find Bo.

[Door closes]

Roman: Hey.

Rafe: Hey.

Roman: Did you hear anything?

Rafe: No. I was hoping you had. Morning, Caroline.

Caroline: Morning. How's Sami this morning?

Rafe: Glad Christmas is over.

Roman: Yeah.

Rafe: Yeah.

Roman: No, she was trying yesterday, but, uh, I could tell how hard it was on her not having Johnny and Sydney there.

Caroline: Poor little Johnny. I mean, he really needs his mother. I hate EJ DiMera, you know? Next time he comes in here, I think I'm gonna lace his clam chowder with rat poison.

Roman: Ma, Ma, promise me you won't do that. So what's Sami doing this morning?

Rafe: Oh, something that would cheer up just about anybody. She's taking Allie to the doctor to make sure she's not genetically predisposed to get what Johnny had.

Caroline: What?

Rafe: Don't worry. Pediatric oncologist says it's just a precaution. It's probably fine.

Roman: Then why do you look so worried?

Rafe: [Scoffs] Well, why do you think?

Roman: Oh, no. What did she do now?

Rafe: Oh, snuck over to EJ's to see Johnny and Sydney.

Roman: Oh, God. Again?

Rafe: Ah, she didn't go inside this time, just looked through the window.

Caroline: It just breaks my heart.

Rafe: Yeah. Well, the thing is, I'm trying to work some angles, figure out a way to get EJ to back off, soften up, let Sami see the kids. I know how Sami feels, but I just don't want her to screw this up, you know?

Sami: There's absolutely nothing to worry about, Allie. The doctor's just gonna check your eyes. It's not gonna hurt at all.

Victor: Maggie, what brings you?

Maggie: Uh, well, Chez Rouge is, uh, catering the reception for the christening. So I just--I wanted to stop by and make sure it was set up properly.

Victor: How nice.

Philip: I better get going. It's good to see you, Maggie.

Maggie: You know, the house is mighty quiet without you and Melanie. Um, if you change your mind, your room is still available.

Philip: Thanks. We'll miss you too.

Maggie: Thanks.

[Door opens, closes]

Maggie: How was your Christmas?

Victor: Fine. Yours must've been difficult. I wanted to talk to you, but, uh...

Maggie: I was very busy, Victor. It helped to have all the family together. So, um, did Vivian serve her famous fruitcake?

Victor: When Vivian is around, there's no need for additional fruitcake. How did you know?

Maggie: That she moved in, taken over your company? I ran into Brady. Are you, Brady, Philip, and Melanie really gonna live in this house with a woman you tried to bury alive?

Victor: If you didn't know me, how else would you be able to ask a question like that? You see what I bring to your life?

Maggie: Oh. You're impossible.

Victor: Oh, come on. When all you Hortons are sitting around the old hearth, churning butter--whatever it is you do for entertainment--don't you ever think it's kind of dull?

Maggie: I think you underestimate us. Hope is a Horton. And your son just broke her out of prison.

Victor: That's the Kiriakis in him.

Maggie: I can't believe I'm saying this. Is there anything you can do?

Victor: Let's just say I'm on it.

Maggie: Can't believe I'm saying this either... but that makes me feel better.

Victor: Don't want to question my methods?

Maggie: No... not if it keeps them safe.

Victor: Well, Maggie Horton, there may be some hope for you yet. [Chuckles]

Chloe: Great.

Carly: Something wrong?

Chloe: Yeah. Nicole says all of the sudden, she can't make it to the christening.

Daniel: Given the way Nicole acts at these events, is that a bad thing?

Chloe: I know. I just don't want anything else to go wrong.

Kayla: Ah. Mom and Roman are still on good terms even after she told him she switched the results. Hmm. What gives? One way to find out.

Allie: Mommy, look, there's Sydney.

Sami: Yeah. Yeah.

Allie: Sydney, I miss you.

Sami: Why is she at the hospital?

Nicole: She's just getting her eyes examined. She's fine.

Sami: Okay. Okay. Hi. Hi, sweetheart. How are you? Nicole, come on, have a heart. Let me hold her. Come here.

Nicole: Um...

Sami: Let me just--

Nicole: Uh, Sami, I-I can't. I-I can't let you hold her.

Sami: Come on, Nicole.

Nicole: I'm sorry.

Allie: Why won't she let you hold Sydney?

Sami: Um... uh, it's just very complicated, you know, sweetheart. It's complicated, 'cause I guess Nicole is on EJ's side. And EJ wants Johnny and Sydney all to himself right now. But don't you worry. Rafe and I are gonna get Johnny and Sydney back. I promise.

[Knock at door]

Daniel: Hey! Sweetie!

Melanie: Hi.

Daniel: Hey. Philip.

Philip: Daniel.

Daniel: Come on.

Carly: Let me look at you. Oh, my gosh, you're so beautiful.

Melanie: Thank you.

Daniel: Chloe's getting Parker in his getup. She should be, uh, right out.

Philip: Carly, have you heard anything about Bo and Hope?

Carly: No. And if you're asking me for information, that must mean that Victor hasn't heard anything either, right?

Philip: I'm sorry. One thing I know, my father has his best men on the job, and he will not let anything happen to them.

Carly: Good.

Melanie: And I'm going to be here for you. I'm gonna get you through this.

Carly: You know what? That means everything to me, because if I have you, then I have everything.

Stephanie: I love the view from this pier.

Nathan: Is this, uh, one of the errands you wanted to get done?

Stephanie: Yeah, I just wanted to see it one more time.

Nathan: We're not moving yet.

Stephanie: I know, but I miss it already.

Nathan: You sure about this move?

Stephanie: My home is wherever you are. Of course I'm gonna miss Salem and all the people I love here, but I'll be fine.

Nathan: Well, they say going to a new place is a good way to leave old problems behind.

Stephanie: I agree.

Nathan: So we'll make new friends. We'll get to know a new place. And I will have you all to myself.

Stephanie: Hmm. When you put it that way, Baltimore sounds pretty good.

Nathan: Mm-hmm. We'll think of it as an adventure, right? And we'll do it together.

Stephanie: Sounds like fun.

Roman: Well, I would feel a whole lot better if the state boys weren't in charge of this.

Caroline: Why?

Rafe: 'Cause they don't know Bo and Hope.

Roman: Yeah, they think of Hope as an escaped convict and Bo as a rogue cop.

Kayla: Wait a second. What happened to Bo and Hope? Are they all right?

Caroline: Kayla! What are you doing here?

Kayla: Well, you don't seem happy to see me.

Chloe: [Sighs] I cannot get Parker in his christening gown. He keeps squirming.

Daniel: That's 'cause he's a dude.

Melanie: Ha ha. Help is on the way.

Carly: We're on it.

Chloe: Thank you.

Carly: Okay.

[Door closes]

Daniel: So, uh, how's Victor?

Philip: He's good. He's good. He gave me a talking-to today about how to be a Godfather. I'm gonna be there for Parker.

Daniel: That's good.

Philip: I really appreciate you letting me be a part after, you know, everything.

Daniel: Letting it go was a one-time-only offer. How's Sabrina? Is she still working for you?

Philip: No. I told you I'd have her transferred, and I did.

Daniel: Let's hope that's true.

Chloe: So we did it.

Philip: Wow. He looks like a--like a girl.

Chloe: Hey, you are just as bad as his father.

Melanie: When Parker grows up, you are not allowed to tell him he went to his christening in drag.

Philip: Okay.

Melanie: You want to hold him?

Philip: Yeah.

Chloe: He's looking at you. Now, Parker, just remember that that's your Godfather, and he's very rich, so don't spit up on him.

Melanie: Oh.

Philip: Hey, little guy. How you doing? Hey.

Caroline: Don't be silly. Well, of course, I'm glad to see you.

Kayla: Okay, well, that's better. And, uh, congratulations to you and Sami, Rafe.

Rafe: Thank you.

Roman: So you come all this way--you don't call, tell us you're coming?

Kayla: Well, you know, I wanted to help Stephanie plan the wedding. And I thought I would surprise everybody. I didn't know I was walking into the middle of a family emergency. So what happened?

Roman: Well, you can read all the details right here.

Kayla: Bo busts her out of prison?

Roman: Yeah, he posed as a guard.

Kayla: Why would he do that?

Rafe: 'Cause he thought Hope was in some kind of trouble.

Kayla: Well, how are they? Do you know where they are?

Roman: Well, I do know that Bo's doing everything he can to take care of Hope, and that is all I know. Because of the family connection, I've had to, uh, take a leave of absence from the department. Rafe is on the force now. He's serving as acting commander.

Kayla: Wow. [Scoffs] A lot has happened since I was last here.

Caroline: Well, you know the old saying--the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Lexie: Oh, good, it's empty. Come on in. EJ, I need you to stop worrying, okay? I'll call you as soon as the ophthalmologist's report on Sydney comes back.

EJ: Thank you. It's a weight off my mind.

Lexie: How's Johnny?

EJ: He's, um, in some pain.

Lexie: But no fever?

EJ: No.

Lexie: Okay. All right. He'll--he'll feel better soon, okay? It's difficult when children are in pain. You can't just overload them with painkillers.

EJ: I know, Lexie. I just feel so bloody helpless, you know?

Lexie: Yeah, well, get used to it, you know? I mean, as much as we'd like to, we parents don't have all the answers. Who took Sydney to her appointment--Mary?

EJ: No, actually, I had Nicole do it.

Lexie: Oh. The same Nicole who stole her at birth?

EJ: She's never been anything but loving to Sydney. Thank you.

Lexie: Oh, is that why you invited her over for Christmas? Because of her loving ways.

EJ: Well, Lexie, the reason I invite her over for Christmas is because Sydney needs a mother figure.

Lexie: A mother figure? Wait, Nicole? EJ, are you sure there's not something else going on?

Sami: Hey, Maxine.

Maxine: Sami, hi. Look, I am really sorry about your little boy.

Sami: Thank you. Thank you. I'm just glad that he's recovering well.

Maxine: Yeah, he's a tough little guy.

Sami: Oh, he sure is. Uh, my daughter is with Dr. Kim right now being examined, and he said I needed to ask you for a new-patient questionnaire.

Maxine: Oh, sure. Here you go. You can just leave it right here when you're done.

Sami: Thanks.

Maxine: You're welcome.

Sami: Where's Sydney?

Nicole: Uh, they took her to get some kind of scan.

Sami: So she's going through this without her mother, and that works for you?

Nicole: I love Sydney.

Sami: Are you kidding me? You stole Sydney from me in the first place because you wanted to hold onto EJ. Then you stole her from me 'cause you didn't want to be alone. I'm pretty sure that has nothing to do with Sydney and everything to do with you, Nicole.

Nicole: It's too bad you don't have this this clear sight about yourself, Sami. Maybe you should've stopped yourself when you shot EJ in the head. Maybe then you wouldn't be standing back watching me being the only mother that the two of your kids have.

Sami: EJ is just throwing you some crumbs right now because you gave him that video. If you think that he's actually gonna let you in Sydney's life, then you're dreaming.

Nicole: Well, that just shows you how out of the loop you are.

Sami: What are you talking about?

Nicole: Oh, you haven't heard? I'm living with EJ again.

Chloe: This is it, Parker. This is where you're getting baptized.

Matt: Hello, Chloe.

Chloe: Hello, Father. Thank you so much for agreeing to baptize my son.

Matt: What a beautiful little boy.

Chloe: Thank you. I think so too.

Matt: I understand that Philip is going to be his Godfather.

Chloe: Yes, that's right.

Matt: Does that mean that you've told Daniel about the problem with Philip?

Chloe: Uh, no, and I'm never gonna tell him that.

Matt: Oh, I guess that's why, uh, you haven't been to confession lately.

Chloe: Father, if I'm not in the state of grace, does that mean that you won't baptize my child?

Kayla: Poor little Johnny DiMera. Did he have the enucleation yet?

Caroline: The what?

Kayla: The--the removal of the eye?

Rafe: Yeah, he--he did.

Caroline: The poor child.

Kayla: Please tell Sami that if she wants to talk, I'll be here.

Rafe: I will. Thank you. We should get back to work.

Roman: Yeah. Yeah. I'll meet you. So, um, I will keep you both posted on Bo and Hope.

Caroline: Yeah, please do. Please find him.

Roman: We will, Ma. We will. Good to have you home.

Kayla: Yeah, it seems like it's the right time.

Roman: Yeah, the last week has been difficult, to say the least.

Kayla: Well, with everything that's going on, I'm so glad that you and Mom are still on good terms.

Roman: What do you mean by that? I mean, why wouldn't we be?

Caroline: No good reason. Don't let us keep you now.

Roman: Okay. All right. Well, I'll, uh, talk to you both later.

Kayla: All righty.

Roman: Okay.

Caroline: Isn't it great that Nathan got that wonderful position at Johns Hopkins?

Kayla: Yes, it is.

Caroline: He and Stephanie are flying to Baltimore to find an apartment.

Kayla: Today?

Caroline: Oh, they certainly--she'd want to see you before they leave. Why don't you give her a call? I'm sure she'll find some time before they go to the airport.

Kayla: No, no, I'll do that-- I'll do that later.

Caroline: Well, I hate to see you miss her.

Kayla: Well, you know, I really--I really want to talk to you first.

Caroline: Why?

Kayla: Well, that's one of the reasons I wanted to come back, because, you know, I left so quickly last time when Steve got sick. And I-I really couldn't help you tell Roman that you were the one that switched Chloe's paternity-test results.

Caroline: Oh, don't worry about it. It's all taken care of.

Kayla: Well, I mean, Stephanie is getting married to Nathan now. I mean, the truth came out, and he didn't leave her for Melanie, so I guess everything-- everything worked out for the best, right? Right?

Caroline: Yeah.

EJ: There is absolutely nothing going on between Nicole and me.

Lexie: And yet... you are allowing her to spend time with your children after what she did.

EJ: She paid for what she did. And as you saw, she's very good with Sydney.

Lexie: Mm, well, I'm sure it doesn't hurt that it's probably driving Sami crazy.

EJ: Lexie, Samantha is not a part of this equation.

Lexie: Oh, really?

EJ: Okay? Johnny and Sydney are my responsibility now. See, that means I make the decisions... okay?

Sami: You made a fool out of EJ. There is absolutely no way he would ever take you back.

Nicole: I didn't say he did. I said I was living with him. I took care of Sydney so he could sit by Johnny's bedside last night.

Sami: Shut up, Nicole.

Nicole: And I bathed her, and I fed her.

Sami: Shut up, Nicole.

Nicole: And I hugged her, and I kissed her, and she went right to sleep.

Sami: If you don't shut your mouth, I will shut it for you.

Nathan: [Laughs] Was that another one of your errands on your to-do list?

Stephanie: No. I just can't resist you.

Nathan: Mm.

Stephanie: I never could.

Nathan: I don't blame you.

Stephanie: [Chuckles]

Nathan: You realize that no one's loved me like you do? I'm gonna spend the rest of my life making you happy.

Stephanie: I like that.

Nathan: Is that okay?

Stephanie: Yeah.

Matt: Of course I'll baptize the baby. Any differences we have have no bearing on the child.

Chloe: Thank you so much, Father. I would never want Parker to suffer for something that I've done.

Matt: I know that. I'm sorry. I'm needed at the hospital. I have to go.

Chloe: Oh, okay. Uh, I understand. We'll wait for you.

Matt: I'm sorry.

Chloe: [Sighs] Hi, baby boy. Hi, guys.

Daniel: I just saw Father Matt leaving. What's going on?

Chloe: Yeah, he said he had to go to the hospital, but he will be back later. So it's still gonna be a perfect day.

Caroline: Kayla, your daughter's getting married soon, and your brother and his wife are missing. Why do you want to go over such old news?

Kayla: Because I am the one who insisted on all this. And I cannot get one word out of Stephanie.

Caroline: She has a lot to deal with. And Nathan was very sick.

Kayla: You know, would you stop changing the subject? I just want to know how everybody reacted when they found out that Philip was the father of the baby.

Rafe: Uh, it's better we talk here. I don't want those prison officials to know that you're still unofficially on the case.

Roman: Yeah. Well, I wish to hell I would hear from Bo.

Rafe: Well, he's not gonna risk that. He knows the state cops are gonna be checking his local-usage phone detail.

Roman: Yeah, you're right. Well, maybe some of your friends at the bureau could help.

Rafe: I already talked to them.

Roman: [Chuckles] You know what? I can't believe it.

Rafe: What's that?

Roman: Well, I was just thinking that, uh, Sami finally married somebody I not only like, but is actually strong enough to handle her.

Rafe: [Chuckles]

Roman: Keep me posted.

Rafe: All right, will do. Will do. No word yet from Sami. Hopefully that's not bad news.

Nicole: Sami, you can try to shut me up all you want, but it doesn't change a thing. You had everything. That's what I don't get about this. You have Rafe. You had proof that EJ was the one who had Sydney kidnapped. But I guess that wasn't enough for you. And now I'm in Sydney's life thanks to you.

Sami: You know what? The second you become an inconvenience, EJ's going to kick you out. And I do have Rafe. And Rafe and I are going to get Johnny and Sydney back. And then you will be on the outside looking in as always.

Nicole: Mm-hmm. Did it ever occur to you that Rafe will get tired of cleaning up your messes? Maybe he'll finally figure out who you really are and decide, you know, just--you're not worth it.

Sami: You know what? I'm not gonna stand here and take moral advice from a former- porn-star-turned-baby-snatcher!

Nicole: I'm not the one who shot my kids' father in the head while he was unconscious. What do you think Johnny and Sydney are going to think of you when they find out, huh?

Sami: Ah!

Nicole: I've had it with you trying to--stop it!

Sami: [Grunting] Let go! No, no!

On the next "Days of Our Lives" --

Kayla: You didn't tell anyone that you switched the paternity tests.

Philip: Time to get this show on the road, Parker.

EJ: She's going to self-destruct.
