Rafe: Yeah, it is. I don't know what to make of it though.

Will: Looks like one of Johnny's pupils is white.

Gabi: At first, we thought it was the camera. But nobody else's eyes look like that.

Will: And why is it in every shot?

Melanie: So you and Stephanie moved up the wedding date?

Caroline: Hello.

Stephanie: Are you following me?

Caroline: For your information, I was visiting a friend in the hospital. She had a gallbladder out. Were you calling Adrienne to tell her about the wedding?

Stephanie: Yes. Among other things. I think she's gonna be really happy for me. I thought you were too.

Caroline: I am. It's just--it's just too bad your parents can't be here.

Stephanie: I know. I know. I mean, obviously, this is not an ideal situation. But when I found out that Mom was gonna be out of touch, it felt like a sign.

Stephanie: Yeah. That everything's going to be okay. I mean, yes, Mom wants me to do the right thing. But right is subjective. What's right to one person isn't necessarily right to another person. You've said that before.

Stephanie: So, I mean, even though Mom has a different point of view, you and I think that this is right. So the way that things are proceeding now, no one ever needs to know that Philip cheated on Melanie.

Maxine: Stephanie, hon. Sorry to interrupt. But I got a question to run by you.

Stephanie: Yeah, what is it you need to know, Maxine?

[Knock at door]

Philip: Hello, Brady. Came to get a look at the kid?

Brady: I did. And this little guy needs a home.

Brady: Uh, Nicole and I broke up.

[Doorbell rings]

EJ: It's all right, Harold. Don't get up. I will get it.

Nicole: You bastard.

Melanie: If you love me, then why are you marrying Stephanie?

Nathan: [Scoffs] I can't do this right now.

Melanie: You're right. We should probably put it off for a couple more years.

Nathan: All right, I got to go.

Melanie: No. No. No. We need to figure this out. Just answer me. If you have feelings for me, why are you marrying Stephanie?

Nathan: When I got out of quarantine and I saw Steph, I was going to tell her the truth.

Melanie: Why didn't you?

Nathan: Because before I could, I had this random conversation with a patient. And she was telling me about this amazing life that she had and all these years of happiness with her husband. Even though he wasn't her soul mate.

Melanie: And you related to that?

Nathan: I did. 'Cause I realize that even if I still have feelings for you, I can't just... I'm happy with Stephanie. I really am. And I--and I truly believe that I can be happy with her. And, you know, none of that matters because us is not possible because you are a married woman.

Melanie: Anything else?

Nathan: You and I don't even know each other anymore.

Melanie: Don't even know-- that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Of course we know each other.

Nathan: Yeah, but not like we should. Okay, yes, we have this connection. Yes, we're obviously attracted to each other. But we can't just--

Melanie: Can't just what?

Nathan: We can't just blow the good that we have in our lives. Especially on a whim. Especially since it's probably just a case of wanting what we can't have.

Rafe: [Scoffs] I don't know what it could be. I understand why you'd be concerned though.

Will: Uh, I didn't tell her. She's already freaked out enough about Johnny and Sydney. I didn't want to worry her.

Rafe: Right. It's a good call. Okay, how about this: We reprint the photos and take it from there.

Will: Okay.

EJ: Hmm. So let me guess. This is my fault, um, whatever it happens to be. I'm responsible for the sorry state of your life. Well, if you'll excuse me, Nicole, I have work to do.

Nicole: I didn't think I could hate you any more than I already do.

EJ: Just let me ask you what happened exactly when you gave Brady the old heave-ho?

Rafe: They're out Christmas shopping. Gabi, you got that memory card?

Will: Yeah, that's got to be it.

Rafe: Thanks. Well, if it is, then these prints should come out fine. Let's see.

Melanie: You're right. I have a good marriage. Stephanie's obviously... devoted. To you. And I'm sure if we got together, we'd just annoy each other like we usually do.

Nathan: Yeah, probably.

Melanie: Philip puts up with all my "idio-syn-crass-ies." Is that the right word?

Nathan: Yeah, idiosyncrasies? Yeah, that's right.

Melanie: Right. He puts up with all my stuff unconditionally.

Nathan: Yeah, and, you know, Stephanie is really understanding. I mean, she really gets me.

Melanie: So why would we want to ruin that?

Nathan: Exactly. And since we're pretty much oil and water most of the time, we got to get past this selfish attraction so that no one else gets hurt.

Melanie: Philip and I are trying to have a baby.

Nathan: What, in the last 30 seconds--you--that's great. I'm--yeah, I'm glad. I hope that you and Philip can conceive that baby right away.

Brady: So how'd it go with EJ? Did he buy it?

[Doorbell rings]

Rafe: Hold up.

Stephanie: So you're saying...?

Ben: That Dr. Manning and Dr. Jonas should examine him. Make sure he's 100% healthy.

Nathan: Hold on one minute? Why does everyone around here always seem to forget the fact that I'm also a doctor? If I had any issues or felt I wasn't up to speed, then I think I would know.

Ben: Well, there's no need to be defensive.

Nathan: This is not your call.

Ben: Well, as I said, I just think you should be cautious. Vigilant about your health.

EJ: One of the conditions of this little arrangement is that I not get in the way of you being employed by the Salem Police Department. Oh, you didn't know about that either. Huh.

EJ: My son is fine. I was just playing a puzzle with him a few minutes ago before I put him down for his nap.
