Sami: Where are you going?
Will: T's got this party going down at Cafe Kinky.
Sami: At this hour?
Will: Yeah, nothing starts till 11:00 anymore. Don't worry, though. I won't be out too late. And, uh, game night was fun, so let's do that again. Okay.
Sami: Nice try. You are not going anywhere.
Will: Why not?
Sami: I don't know, Will. Why don't you tell me?
Stefano: [Sighs] Elvis, relax.
EJ: Father, that is very easy for you to say, but I need to know! Look, what happened to Anna? Why didn't she check in on schedule?
Stefano: Yes. And unfortunately, it was as you suspected. That damn Hernandez found some way to get to her.
Rafe: Doc, what's goin' on? You pumped her stomach. The poison's gonna work its way out sometime, isn't it?
Carrillo: Seņor, I'm afraid it's as I warned you earlier. This woman may never regain consciousness.
Rafe: Okay, guess what. That is the wrong answer. You need to figure something out. Anna? Anna. [Softly] Anna.
Stephanie: You want to check to see if I have my birth-control pills. What are you, insane?
Melanie: Well, no. But some homeless woman found your pills in a garbage can on the pier after you claimed to have lost them. And then all of a sudden, your drink of choice is ginger ale, which will come in really handy when the morning sickness kicks in, and Nathan's gonna have no idea what's going on, because he doesn't have a clue what you're up to.
Stephanie: I'm not up to anything, Melanie. And guess what, Nathan is over you, so why don't you get over him?
Melanie: I made a very simple request--just show me what's in your purse.
Stephanie: Okay, how about a simpler one? Get a life.
Melanie: Fine. I'll find out myself!
Stephanie: What are you doing? Are you crazy?
Melanie: I'm not crazy!
Stephanie: Give me my purse! Melanie, I am not--
Melanie: I'm not looking. I just want to know what's in your purse!
Stephanie: Give it to me!
Melanie: Stephanie--let me look through your purse!
Stephanie: God, I cannot believe you!
Melanie: Stop it--stop!
Stephanie: Give it to me! Stop it, Melanie!
Philip: So Nathan knows Chloe cheated. Damn. Wonder what else she told him. Whoa.
Daniel: You bastard.
Philip: Look, I swear I didn't mean for it to happen, man, okay?
Daniel: I don't give a damn if you planned it or not. It happened. And now I want some answers.
Chloe: Nathan, I don't need sex therapy. I need you to get out and keep your mouth shut.
Carly: Is something wrong?
Will: Mom, I have no idea what you're talking about.
Sami: Do the words "advanced algebra" mean anything to you? I was just checking my email, and Mr. Higgins made sure to share with me the fact that you are heading into the finals with a "D" average.
Will: I kind of messed up the midterm. And he doesn't even like me anyway. The homework's been rough, so...
Sami: Oh, no, no, no. You are not going anywhere. We are gonna sit here, and we're gonna talk about it. You are gonna get your grade back up.
Will: No! That's not fair, Mom!
Sami: I hate to be the one to break it to you, but life's not fair, Will.
Will: Mom, I--
Sami: I don't understand how you could let this happen. You were put in advanced algebra because you're good at it. How could you go from an "A" to a "D"?
Will: I was acing that class because Rafe was tutoring me. He made it all seem so easy, but like everything else, Mom, you just had to screw that up.
Sami: [Scoffs]
Rafe: Anna. Anna!
Carrillo: There is nothing you can do.
Rafe: Well, that makes sense, doesn't it? Because I'm not the doctor here. Now, listen to me. If there is something that you can do, you need to do it now. Do you hear me?
Carrillo: Actually... there is one possibility.
Chloe: Carly... what are you doing here?
Carly: Uh, I just came by Adrienne's to get some of my things. Good news--Bo sister's in complete remission, and he's back from L.A.
Nathan: That's terrific.
Carly: It is. So I'm gonna move back into his place, and I came by... and I heard. Is there something wrong?
Chloe: You know what? I'm--I'm sorry that you had to hear me rant, but Nathan and I just--we got into a thing about his cousin Lucas, and... I'm just hoping he won't make a big thing of it. You're not gonna do that, Nathan, are you?
EJ: What? Why didn't you tell me this? Has Rafe arrested her? Did she talk?
Stefano: Elvis, I keep telling you to relax, all right? I took care of things. Anna is never gonna tell Hernandez that you had anything to do... with the kidnapping. You understand? She's not gonna tell anybody anything.
EJ: No, no, no. You--you did not--
Stefano: What? No, don't--come on, don't be ridiculous. Would I do such a thing to Anthony's wife? No. She is alive... and she is not going to talk to anyone. No, don't--look, you don't have to know the details, okay? When I say to you that I'm going to get something done... it is done, huh? What?
EJ: I don't like the fact that you always seem to feel the need to control everything... without informing me or even asking!
Stefano: Ah... you are not satisfied. Okay. Fine. Then I will leave you on your own... including your precious Samantha.
Sami: It is not my problem...
Will: If you get a chance...
Sami: That you are having trouble in math class!
Will: If you hadn't blown it with Rafe, everything would have been okay!
Sami: All right, you are grounded for the weekend, and I swear to God, if you don't...
Will: What? What?
Sami: Get those grades up, then you know what? You are not going on the class trip, and you are not going to prom.
Will: Well, I'm not going to that anyway, so...
Sami: In fact, you should just sign up for summer school now, okay?
Will: Okay, right! Right. Your life is in the toilet, so punish me because I suck at algebra.
Sami: This has nothing to do with me or my life, and my life is fine, by the way.
Will: Oh, yeah, sure, right. Hey--do you remember why I moved out, Mom? It was to get away from you. So please stay out of my life!
Sami: Will, don't you dare go there!
Will: You cannot tell me what to do anymore!
EJ: [Clears throat] So... what seems to be the problem?
Will: She is!
Sami: He is!
Melanie: You--stop! Stephanie, stop! Just let me look!
Stephanie: Give me my purse!
Maggie: For heaven sakes! Oh! My goodness!
Lesley: Settle down!
Melanie: Look inside her purse.
Stephanie: Leave my stuff alone--it's my purse.
Melanie: Do you think you're gonna hide this forever?
Stephanie: You are insane, Melanie--you're totally insane!
Melanie: And you're a liar!
Maggie: Stop it! I'm as bad as you are. God, what is going on here with you two?
Melanie: Do you want to tell her, or should I, Stephanie?
Nathan: [Clears throat]
Chloe: Uh, look, I know that you're probably very anxious to go get your things and go spend some time with Bo and-- uh, we're fine. It's not a big deal.
Carly: Right. Great. I'll--then I'll-- I'll talk to you later.
Chloe: Okay. Bye. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. That was so close. What's the matter with you? You almost gave everything away. How could you do that?
Daniel: How could you do something like that? What the hell were you thinking?
Philip: That's just it, man, I wasn't thinking, okay? I never meant to hurt her. I love her so much, Daniel. I-I can't tell you how much.
Daniel: That's a hell of a way to show her... making her have dinner with the woman who tried to kill her? Where is your brain, man?
Philip: Hmm?
Daniel: No, Melanie told me. What? What did you think I was talking about?
EJ: Look, if the pair of you keep talking past one another, you cannot expect to agree on anything.
Will: So what? And why the hell should I listen to you anyway?
Sami: All right, all right, you do not talk to him like that, and you don't use those words, and he is just trying to help!
Will: No, he's not. He's siding with you.
Sami: Will, he's not--
EJ: Samantha, um...
[Sydney crying]
EJ: Do you think maybe you could go upstairs and try and work some of your magic on Sydney, please? Please?
Sami: Sure. No fighting.
[Sydney continues crying]
EJ: Thank you. I wonder if you and I could have a... word or two.
Will: About what?
EJ: Well... humor me. I need a drink. Can I get you something?
Will: No. And before you get started, just because we had one decent conversation, you are not my father, okay?
EJ: I'm not your father, no. But Samantha is your mother. And until you are 18, she is responsible for you, whether you like it or not.
Will: There you go again. You're siding with her. It was so not like this with Rafe. I mean, he was cool. He could see things through other people's eyes and really had an unbiased point of view, and he didn't always just side with my mom.
EJ: Rafe's not here, though.
Will: Yeah. And I've always blamed my mom for that. But maybe it's really your fault.
[Sydney crying]
Will: Sounds like mom needs your help. And hey, you know, you're free to go, because I definitely don't.
[Sydney continues crying]
EJ: We'll talk later.
Stefano: My goodness! Ho ho. Oh, there must be something... that I can do to help.
Chloe: Wow. Talk about passive aggressive. If someone overhears my secret, it's not gonna be a secret anymore. But you're not the one who blabbed, are you?
Nathan: All right, hey. Hey. Let's get something straight. I didn't do anything wrong. All I did was try to come here to help you.
Chloe: You think accusing someone of being a sex addict is helping them?
Nathan: Chloe, I thought--
Chloe: No, you listen. I cheated on Daniel once. It was only once, because I thought he was cheating on me with Carly. And it was a stupid and horrible mistake, and it's never gonna happen again.
Nathan: Chloe, don't you see a pattern here maybe? I mean, you did cheat on my cousin Lucas with Daniel and now Daniel with whoever. I mean, at the very least, you might have issues with commitment.
Chloe: No! No. That would be you. You didn't come here to help me. You came here to help yourself, 'cause you're still hoping that you have a shot with Melanie.
Stephanie: Go ahead, Melanie. Tell everyone--tell Maggie how you're still totally into your ex-boyfriend, her grandson, even though you're, oh, so happily married.
Melanie: This is not about me, and you know it.
Stephanie: Oh, it isn't? Really? Then what's it about? I mean, why else would you care so much about what I do or don't do with Nathan?
Philip: Pfft! I knew what you were talking about--the dinner thing, the dinner thing with Vivian, yes. Yes. I mean, come on, I never meant to get Melanie so upset about something like that.
Daniel: Well, no, she was perfectly happy to go along with it, because she thought your relationship with your father was more important to you than, you know... keeping your wife away from the woman who tried to kill her.
Philip: [Scoffs] But, dude, I wasn't gonna go through with it. Come on, now. I just said okay to get the old bag to shut up. Believe me, I don't want her anywhere near Vivian.
Daniel: Oh... well, that's good. Good. You know, I'm glad to hear that. Ooh... you know what? I'm sorry. I didn't mean to jump all over you like that, I just--
Philip: It's okay, it's okay.
Daniel: No, I'm just kind of, you know, I'm a little off my game right now because Chloe's going through a lot of stuff, and I don't know. I feel like she's just keeping something from me.
Philip: Hmm. Well, you know, I'm sure it'll work itself out.
Daniel: You know what it is, Philip? Tell me.
Stefano: I thought you already left for your party. Was there a problem with the car or something? Don't worry, because we have other cars, you know.
Will: No. It's not the car.
Stefano: Then?
Will: I'm grounded.
Stefano: Ah... I-I thought I heard some raised voices. So your mother is mad at you for something, huh?
Will: I got a "D" in advanced algebra.
Stefano: Ah! A "D". I see. Well, you know... there must be a way to make that "D" disappear.
Rafe: What do you mean, "there's one possibility"?
Carrillo: There's an extremely strong stimulant that could be administered.
Rafe: Okay, well, you got to do it. She has information I need.
Carrillo: I understand that, Seņor, but--
Rafe: Do it. Do it now.
[Door opens, closes]
Stephanie: Any more accusations you want to make about me, Melanie? No? Cat got your tongue?
Melanie: Bitch!
Maggie: Melanie!
Stephanie: It's okay, Maggie. I'm just considering the source. No offense. But, you know, Melanie... next time you want to start spitting out your little fantasies... you may want to think about the people that are gonna get hurt, not just me--other people. I'm sorry, Maggie.
Lesley: Honey, you can go home now. You're relieved. Don't come back till your next shift. Understood?
Melanie: Yeah.
Maggie: I think there's a few things we need to talk about, don't you?
Melanie: It's not like she said. I'm not jealous of her and Nathan, he's... Stephanie's gonna hurt him.
Maggie: And so now Stephanie is gonna hurt him. Melanie, Nathan is my grandson. Now, if you have information that he's gonna get hurt in some way, I want to hear it... right now.
Philip: Hey, man, look, uh, I'm not really up on what Chloe's thinking, okay?
Daniel: No, I mean, but Chloe's always been tight with you, good friends... all the way back to high school, right?
Philip: Well, yeah, but...
Daniel: She told you about the false pregnancy, which is something she almost never wants to talk about. I'm not trying to go behind her back, okay? I mean, I know that you value her friendship. It's just that she hasn't... I don't know, she hasn't been herself lately... at all.
Philip: I don't know, man. Maybe it's... I think she really loves you. She never wants to lose you. I mean, love can make you do weird things sometimes... right?
Daniel: Right. Damn. I'm an idiot.
Philip: What do you--what-- what do you mean?
Daniel: No, I just realized what the real problem is, and...
Philip: What's the real problem?
Daniel: Grilling you isn't gonna help it. Well, what it is is she's totally insecure about Carly and a bunch of other things. You know what I got to do? I got to--I got to change that. I do, all right? I'll--I'll talk to you later, man, all right? Oh, hey, you know what? I didn't mean to bark at you like that.
Philip: It's okay. [Sighs deeply]
Nathan: We've already discussed this, all right? I don't have any interest in Melanie, not romantically or otherwise. You know what? I take that back. I do care on one level. I don't want her to get hurt.
Chloe: Well, good. Then back off, 'cause that's exactly what's gonna happen if this gets out.
Nathan: Whoa. All right, what does Melanie have to do with this? What are you talking about?
[Monitor beeping]
Carrillo: We need to monitor her heart rate closely. I'll be back. Call if you need help.
Rafe: You got to wake up, Anna. You got to wake up so you can tell me who did this... same person who was controlling you when you took Sydney, they're the same person that's controlling you now. Who did this, Anna?
EJ: Trying to control things again, huh, Father?
Stefano: Oh, Elvis, I did not see you.
EJ: I hope you weren't suggesting you can make Will's grade disappear.
Stefano: No, no, no, no, no. We were talking about the fact that, you know, with some hard work, you can, you know, make your grades get better.
EJ: I see. Well, he's right, Will. I mean, a-a bad grade in a class is only temporary until the end of class. So with hard work and perseverance, you can turn that around.
Will: Is that how you got where you are, EJ... hard work and perseverance? Take it easy, Stefano.
Stefano: Sorry about your evening, Will.
Will: Yeah, well...
Stefano: Hmm. Well, well, well, well, well, well, well. Ha. You know... it seems as if... William is not too crazy about you. I mean, you have won over his mother... although I'm not sure about that, since she's still insists on having separate bedrooms. But, you know... William is gonna be a harder nut to crack. You know, wait a minute now. This may be just part of your plan, huh? Seduce the mother by winning over the son. Ah.
EJ: Look, you are not gonna do to him what you did to me, all right? You're not.
Stefano: I'm sorry?
EJ: Don't think I don't see what is happening here, Father. You see him as another-- a-a convert to the DiMera way of life. Not gonna happen, never. You will never get him the way you got me, you understand?
Maggie: Now, come on. Let's hear it. What's going on?
Melanie: If Lesley told me to go home, shouldn't we leave the hospital?
Maggie: Melanie, sit!
Melanie: Fine. It was about Nathan.
Maggie: About him getting hurt in some way.
Melanie: Stephanie has plans.
Maggie: For Nathan. Mm. Well, maybe she wants to get serious. Maybe she wants to get engaged, something like that?
Melanie: You know what? Stephanie's right. This is none of my business. I'm gonna stay out of this for good. I don't want to talk to Nathan. I don't want to talk to Stephanie. I just want to go home, which I have to anyways, because Lesley said I need to go home. I just want to see my husband!
Maggie: [Sighs] Ohh...
Chloe: What I'm talking about, obviously, is Daniel. He loves me, and if it ever came out that I made this terrible mistake, then he's never gonna forgive me.
Nathan: No, no, no. You said Melanie would get hurt.
Chloe: Yeah, because he'd be miserable, and if he's miserable, she'd be miserable, because she wants her father to be happy more than anything. And if he's unhappy, then... Nathan, is that what you want?
Nathan: Whoa. Why are you putting this on me? I'm not the one that had the one-night stand, all right? You did. Think you can take some responsibility here?
Chloe: Are you gonna tell Melanie?
Nathan: No, okay? No, I'm not going to tell Melanie. To be quite honest, I came here to try and help you, and apparently you can't--you don't want it, so you know what? Deal with this yourself.
Chloe: Thank you.
Nathan: Whatever.
Chloe: Oh, God. Oh, God, oh, God. Okay. At least he's the only other person who knows. But he has no idea I slept with Philip, thank God. Okay, maybe... maybe things are looking up.
[Knocking on door]
Chloe: What do you want now?
Carly: Now that Nathan's gone, I think we need to talk.
Stefano: Oh, Elvis. You make it sound as if you're a miserable failure... when the fact is that there are governments that do not even know how wealthy you are and the power that you have and that you can exert control over a vast empire anytime that you want.
EJ: I'm not going to allow you to suck Will into your orbit. Do you understand me? Stay away from him.
Stefano: [Grunts] Then it sounds like we have a problem. Since my son wants to have nothing to do with me, that means that I... I don't have anyone left to mentor... well, except little Giovanni, but, uh... [Chuckles] I mean, I got to wait until he's old enough to know the difference between a rook and a pawn.
EJ: This is not a game. You understand that?
Stefano: You're damn right it is not a game. Elvis, I am concerned about the next generation. And since you refuse to let me pass on the torch to you... who, then? Samantha's son seems like an excellent choice.
EJ: No. All right? Absolutely not. I may be nothing--nothing but my father's son. But you are not going to do that to William... okay? I'm not going to let you corrupt him the way you corrupted me.
Nathan: Did you take care of everything at work?
Stephanie: Yep. Did you?
Nathan: We'll see.
Stephanie: Are you okay?
Nathan: Yeah... especially now that I'm with you.
Stephanie: Why, sir, you flatter me.
Nathan: Every chance I get. Hey, you remember I was talking about maybe planning that trip for the, uh--the summer?
Stephanie: What?
Nathan: [Laughs] Oh, you lost a button.
Stephanie: Great. Well, you might as well hear it from me, considering everyone else will be talking about it at work tomorrow. Melanie and I got in a fight.
Nathan: What? What, in the hospital?
Stephanie: Let's just say our claws came out.
Nathan: What were you guys fighting about?
Philip: Hey.
Melanie: Hi. I missed you.
Philip: Ah, back at you. Thought you said you were working till really late.
Melanie: Um... uh, I got sent home... early.
Philip: Why?
Melanie: Getting in a fight with Stephanie.
Philip: What?
Melanie: I know.
Philip: What were you guys fighting about?
Melanie: [Scoffs] What else? Nathan.
Philip: [Scoffs]
Daniel: Ah, gee, there you are.
Matt: Daniel, how are you? Good to see you.
Daniel: You too, you too. I'm--I'm fine. You know, I'm actually trying to track you down.
Matt: Oh?
Daniel: Look, I know Chloe usually turns to you for help. But right now I'm the one, uh, who needs it.
Matt: Well, of course. Uh, what can I do?
Daniel: Oh, well, see, here's the thing. Um, Chloe is, uh, suffering through some really heavy times right now, mainly because of me--baggage that I've dragged in from my past. I... never mind. Anyway, um... you know, she's having a rough time. She says she's doing fine with it, but she's not, father. I mean, she--she's become so paranoid about us that she's seeing things that aren't-- at least hearing things, even, that people are saying, but maybe they're not saying them. I-I don't know, but I'm... look, I'm lost, Father. I really am.
Carly: May I come in?
Chloe: Look, Carly, I don't know what you think we have to say to one another, but I--
Carly: We need to talk about what I heard.
Chloe: Excuse me?
Carly: I pretended not to hear anything 'cause I didn't want to get into it in front of Nathan, but I actually heard quite a bit.
Chloe: Like what?
Carly: I know why the two of you were arguing.
EJ: If you try and take will under your wing as some kind of student or apprentice... the consequences will be severe. Am I making myself clear?
Stefano: You know, you don't have to raise your voice.
EJ: Ah-ah!
Stefano: Don't shout.
EJ: And if you ever... ever think about doing that to any of my children, I will make sure you never see either of them again.
Stefano: Let me remind you, all right? You don't have any right to complain about anything after what you've done.
Sami: Excuse me. But, Stefano...
Stefano: Mm-hmm.
Sami: Before you get too high and mighty, I would like to make it clear that you are totally outnumbered here. I am on EJ's side. And I'm gonna make sure you never get anywhere near my children.
EJ: Samantha, this is, um, kind of...
Sami: I just want him to know... that you are never turning any of my children into some sort of creepy junior version of you. And if you even try, if I catch you even trying, it won't be the diabetes that kills you.
Stefano: [Chuckling] My, my, my, my. You're feeling very tough today, huh? Well, no. No, no, I wouldn't even think of such a thing. I will let them learn by their father's shining example. Excuse me. I have some business to take care of.
Sami: [Sighs]
EJ: So, um... how much of that did you hear?
Sami: Enough... enough to know you have my back.
Rafe: Anna. Anna, you can make it.
[Monitor beeping]
Rafe: I'm gonna protect you, you know. The person who hurt you, they will never hurt you again. And we'll be able to find him, but listen, you got to tell me who's responsible for this kidnapping. Just hang in there, okay? Be strong. Do it for Sydney. Do it for Tony. Anna? Anna, can you hear me?
Stephanie: What were Melanie and I fighting about? Um... let me see how I can say this--
Nathan: You know, actually, forget it. I don't even want to know.
Stephanie: Really?
Nathan: Yeah. Really. I know way too much about too many things right now, and I just... want to take a break.
Stephanie: Okay. All right. Well, hey, I-I mean, I know you're exhausted, so you don't have to stay here with me. You can go home and get some rest, if you'd like.
Nathan: No. What I would like... is to go home with you.
