Chloe: Oh, hey. Sorry it took me so long. It was, like, forever dealing with Kate, and then I stopped and bought some eyeliner. Nicole. What's wrong? Oh, my God. Has the wedding been called off?

[Footsteps approaching]

Stefano: So, are you ready to make this happen?

E.J.: Are you talking about the wedding or our plans for Philip?

Philip: Hey. You're a nice surprise.

Stephanie: Hard at work?

Philip: Not now.

Stephanie: Good. I was just passing by and suddenly decided I had to stop. I can be pretty impulsive sometimes. Did you know that about me?

Philip: Nothing wrong with being impulsive. So, what did you suddenly decide you had to do?

Nicole: Brady...

Melanie: Somebody looks mad.

Brady: Keep walking. You -- you don't want to be around me right now.

Melanie: Brady, I'm a big girl. I can handle being around angry guys.

Brady: [Sighs]

Melanie: You know, sometimes, all that anger turns into, like, a romance kind of passion. I like passion. What about you, Brady? You like passion?

Sami: Ugh, there it is. It's not fair. He should be here. He should be here with us.

[Knock on door]

Lucas: Everything okay with Allie?

Sami: Yeah, yeah. The kids are fine.

Lucas: I just got your text. You said come right over. What's going on?

Sami: Oh, yes. Uh, yeah, come in. Um, Grace is asleep.

Lucas: All right, well, make this fast. I got a lot of business to attend to today. I got meetings and budget proposals to do. What's going on?

Sami: I just -- I have to tell you something. It's important.

Lucas: What? What is it?

Sami: Maybe you should sit down. Yeah.

Lucas: I don't want to sit down. I'm not in the mood for drama. Just tell me what's going on.

Sami: Okay. Um, Lucas, I'm, um -- I have to do something. And what I'm gonna do is gonna change my life and, certainly, a lot of other people's lives, too. And before I do it -- this thing -- I, um -- I need you to know about it.

Nicole: No, the, uh [Sniffles] The wedding's still on, as far as I know.

Chloe: As far as you know? Come on, Nicole. The bride doesn't start crying for no reason. What's going on?

Nicole: I don't know. I was trying this veil on. And everything -- everything was perfect. And then I... I started to feel like... maybe I'm making a huge mistake.

Chloe: So you think you shouldn't marry E.J.?

Lucas: If it doesn't have to do anything with the children, I don't want to hear it. Every time you tell me that you're gonna do something that's gonna change a lot of people's lives or whatever it is, Sami, this little voice inside my head goes off, and it says, "run for cover! She's at it again!"

Sami: Oh, I am not that bad.

Lucas: Compared to what?

Sami: Stop it. This is really serious. I -- I have to tell you something. You are the only person I can trust with this information.

Lucas: What about your FBI friend, whatever his name is? Why don't you tell him? Dump it on him.

Sami: Oh, come on. He's not here temporarily. He's out of town...temporarily.

Lucas: Well, then why don't you just temporarily put it on ice?

Sami: Because it has to come out.

Lucas: Well, then tell me, Sami.

Sami: Okay. Okay. So, um... the thing I told you and, well, I've told everyone -- it's a lie.

Lucas: What's a lie? What did you lie about this time?

Sami: I told you that the baby that I had died. But she didn't. It's Grace. And she's healthy, she's beautiful, and -- and she's E.J.'s daughter.

Stefano: I meant are you ready for this wedding.

E.J.: More than ready.

Stefano: I know that this is a special day for you.

E.J.: It's a very difficult one, too.

Stefano: Yes. Antony should be here, preparing to be your best man.

E.J.: Yeah, it's great comfort to me that I have you in his place. Thank you.

Stefano: Elvis, I am honored. But I must admit that Antony weighs heavy on my heart.

E.J.: [Sighing] Yeah. It's funny. It's supposed to be the happiest day of my life.

Stefano: Hmm. Instead, we are remembering your dead brother, which is why this matter has to be taken care of today.

Philip: You have great impulses.

Stephanie: You think?

Philip: You should have them more often.

Stephanie: I just may do that.

[Cellphone ringing]

Philip: Hold that thought, okay? Oh, shoot. I got to take this. It's important. I'm sorry. Hello?

Stephanie: Yeah, sorry.

Brady: Whoa, whoa. Okay, whoa. [Chuckles]

Melanie: You can't say you didn't like that, right? I mean, in case you care, I was kind of into it.

Brady: Look, that doesn't even --

Melanie: Relax, it's -- I know what you're gonna say. "Melanie, this is a bad idea."

Brady: Well, isn't it?

Nicole: Brady came by earlier. And, uh... he didn't say this in so many words, but... it was clear... that if I called off the wedding... he would be waiting for me.

Chloe: Whoa. Does that mean that you're having doubts, that maybe E.J. Isn't the one?

Nicole: No. No. No, E.J. Is the one. We belong together, and I made that crystal clear to Brady that we are the perfect match.

Chloe: Okay.

Nicole: [Crying] I just -- I -- I don't -- I don't know what happened. I mean, suddenly, I just didn't know where I was or what I was gonna -- what I was gonna do. And I just -- I just started bawling.

Chloe: Hey, guess what -- it happens. It's called "this is your wedding day." Welcome to the best day of your life and also the most stressful. I mean, anything can set you off. Hey, why do you think I eloped?

Nicole: [Laughs] To get away from Daniel?

Chloe: Well, that too.

Nicole: And to get away from Kate.

Chloe: And that. Well, hey. Maybe you can, too. Elope. Maybe you could ask E.J., And he might be up for it.

Nicole: [Sighs] No. No. No way. No. Because this wedding -- this wedding is happening right here in Salem. It's gonna be big and beautiful and filled with memories that will last a lifetime. I want everyone to get the picture. I'm gonna marry E.J. DiMera, and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

Lucas: You hid the fact that you were pregnant from everybody but me, right? And then you told me that that baby died, and I believed you.

Sami: I'm sorry.

Lucas: No, no, wait. And then you brought that baby back to Salem. And then you told me the baby was adopted, and I believed that, too. Wow, I'm just batting 1,000, aren't I?

Sami: Please don't be mad.

Lucas: I'm not mad. I'm not mad. I'm impressed, very impressed with you. You, little one -- you gorgeous, little baby here. I am so glad that you weren't really an abandoned baby, and I'm also glad that your mommy didn't have a baby that died. Isn't that great? Yes, it's wonderful. Even though she had tears in her eyes when she told me the damn story.

Sami: Okay, I'm sorry. I can't apologize enough.

Lucas: I don't want to hear it anymore. Enough with the apologies. Really, I'm over it. Tons of people are gonna be mad. You know that, don't you, Sami?

Sami: Yes, I know.

Lucas: Your dad, Caroline, will. And E.J.'s gonna go bonkers. He's gonna lose his mind. Are you sure you want to do this?

Melanie: I never think kissing a hot guy is a bad idea. At least -- except now you think I'm a loose woman.

Brady: No, no. I just think we should both put this in the "way too weird" category, and we should just move on.

Melanie: To the next level?

Brady: No. Melanie, look, you know, first of all, you're a lot younger than I am, okay?

Melanie: And you think that I'm naive and don't know that it's another woman you wish you were kissing.

Brady: I shouldn't have been kissing you at all.

Melanie: Hey, now. Don't take credit. I kissed you.

Brady: All right, then I shouldn't have let it happen, okay? I was upset and then...

Melanie: Because she dumped you, and you need her. And then I came along and laid one on you. You kind of got into it. It's okay. I don't mind being a stand-in. I'm used to guys using me like that.

Brady: Melanie, don't -- come on.

Melanie: Brady, I'm kidding. Come on, you always joke around with me when I'm bummed. Thought I'd do the same.

Brady: Look, that's sweet. It's really sweet, but --

Melanie: But you're a tough guy, strong-and-silent type, which is totally cool, except for the fact that you're dying inside.

Nicole: [Laughing] Aw! Cupcake! Wow. I always wondered what happened to you.

Chloe: Is that something you used to play with?

Nicole: Yeah. Yeah, my mom got it for us when we were kids. We were supposed to share, but clearly Brandon had it this whole time, sneaky bastard.

Chloe: [Laughs] So, what are you gonna do? Are you gonna wear it around your neck walking down the aisle?

Nicole: No, no, no. I'll put it in my bouquet. It'll be fine.

Chloe: Okay, well, here's the "something old" from your mom.

Nicole: Really?

Chloe: Yeah.

Nicole: [Gasps] Oh, look. I think these were actually my grandmother's.

Chloe: Wow, it's beautiful.

Nicole: I don't believe it. Fay actually sent me a gift.

Chloe: Why can't you believe it? Are you two still on the outs?

Nicole: You could say that. I'll tell you one thing I know. I want to be 10 times the mother she ever was. My baby's not only gonna have a better life. It's gonna be the best. And this wedding today...

[Sighs] ...It's gonna seal the deal.

Sami: So, telling the truth is the right thing to do, right? No matter what happens.

Lucas: Well, something's gonna happen, all right. That's for sure.

Sami: I know. But I have to do this. I have to tell the truth to Grace.

Lucas: Well, you know what? You don't have to justify your behavior. Grace's father's a son of a bitch. Don't worry about it.

Sami: So you forgive me for telling you that the baby died and that I adopted her?

Lucas: I don't have much choice, do I? But I meant what I said. That baby doesn't look like you or E.J. You could have gotten away with this as long as you wanted to. What made you want to tell E.J. the truth, Sami?

Philip: Why don't we finish this deal in the morning, Mr. Grant? You bet. Done deal. Talk to you then. Sorry about that.

Stephanie: I thought you weren't the C.E.O. of Titan again until tomorrow.

Philip: Word got out and the calls are coming in, so what can I do?

Stephanie: Send them straight to voicemail.

Philip: Relax. The rest of the day is mine and yours.

Stephanie: I can live with that.

[Cellphone ringing]

Philip: Shoot. It's the department of energy. It's important. Philip Kiriakis. Madam secretary, good to speak with you.

Melanie: Ta-da! Bet you didn't know I was a stalker.

Brady: Um, I really don't --

Melanie: And I put these on your tab, which I guess also makes me a freeloader. You know, it's funny. My brother called me that today, and I got so mad at him. But he kind of hit the nail on the head, didn't he?

Brady: You know, Melanie, you are a really good person. You're really sweet. And I appreciate what you're doing. I'm just not in a sharing kind of mood right now.

Melanie: Now, are we talking about the doughnuts or your supersecret personal life? Tell me how everything went down.

Brady: You know, I don't want to think about it, much less talk about it. I just -- I never should have gotten involved with...

Melanie: Wh-- oh, with the "mystery woman."

Brady: Yeah.

Melanie: So did you give her up for good?

Brady: Well, I kind of have to. I mean, she is getting married today and all.

Melanie: [Chuckles] Are you in love with Nicole walker?

Chloe: And this is the "something new" part from me.

Nicole: Oh! [Gasps] Oh, wow! Chloe, that's beautiful. Look! Can you hold grandma's for me?

Chloe: Yes. It's a symbol -- your new life with E.J. and Sydney.

Nicole: This is so sweet. Chloe, thank you so much!

Nicole: Oh. Okay, I'm gonna try it on right now.

Chloe: All right, put it on.

Nicole: Perfect. Okay.

[Gasps] Oh, my God. No, God, Chloe! I'm so sorry!

E.J.: Father, you're sure we need to take care of this business today, my wedding day?

Stefano: Look, I know it seems as if we're trying to imitate maybe one of the great films of our life, but it is the best possible chance.

E.J.: Why?

Stefano: We have enemies. If they think that we all are in church, then their guard is down.

E.J.: True.

Stefano: So, today, Philip Kiriakis will answer for what he did.

Melanie: So, Nicole walker?

Brady: You know what? Let's forget about this conversation. What do you say?

Melanie: She is a piece of work. I think it's good that you dropped her.

Brady: Yeah, her marrying someone else is a pretty good reason in itself. Don't you think?

Melanie: [Giggles] Not necessarily. But when you consider who she's marrying, yeah, it's a damn good reason. E.J. DiMera is pure evil.

E.J.: Look, I'm sorry. All right? I'm not sure that today's the best choice.

Stefano: I just explained to you why it was.

E.J.: Look, father, I don't mean to be selfish, but --

Stefano: But what? You're afraid that this is going to ruin your wedding?

E.J.: It's the only thing that people are going to remember.

Stefano: [Scoffs] People will remember what we want them to remember.

E.J.: What about Nicole, huh? Look, I know that you don't hold her in very high regard. I realize that, but --

Stefano: And you do?

E.J.: I'm marrying her, father. Please.

Stefano: Elvis, do not let sentimentality cloud your judgment.

E.J.: Sentiment-- sent-- sentimentality?!

Stefano: Yes.

E.J.: I'm marrying her! It's my wedding day!

Stefano: What matters is that our mission today is successful. Today is the right day. Elvis, are you having doubts about this day or about what needs to be done?

Philip: Yeah. I'll get the lawyers right on that in the morning, Mr. Robert. Okay. Nice talking to you, too. Bye. That's it. What -- hey! What, are you leaving?

Stephanie: You're busy.

Philip: No, that was the last one. I promise. That's it.

Stephanie: It's okay. Philip, it's fine. I-I accept that you're a workaholic. I'm just not gonna sit here and whine about not getting enough attention. But what you need to accept is that you do have a girlfriend, and a little attention wouldn't hurt.

Philip: Hey, look. Let's start this over. You go outside, ring the bell. I'll put my phone --

Stephanie: No, not today. You obviously have a lot of work to do, so go do it.

Philip: Steph, come on. Wait.

Stephanie: Bye.

Philip: Bye.

Nicole: Oh, Chloe, I am so sorry. This is all my fault. I ruined everything.

Chloe: Would you stop that? The clasp just broke, okay? And, look, we have all the pieces. I'll just take it to the jeweler's tomorrow and get them restrung.

Nicole: Yeah, but this could mean that everything will go wrong.

Chloe: No, it won't. Stop it, all right? It's not an omen. It's an accident. Did I ever tell you about my delightful experience at Christmas?

Nicole: Christmas?

Chloe: Yeah, I was over at the Hortons' -- big celebration, right? And they made me this beautiful Christmas tree ornament with my name painted on it. And everybody's watching me as I go to hang it on the tree. And guess what happens.

Nicole: You dropped it?

Chloe: Yeah, into like 100 pieces on the floor, which I wanted to crawl through. And I was thinking the same thing, like, "oh, my God. This means trouble for me and Lucas. We're not gonna make it."

Nicole: But you did, and everything worked out for you.

Chloe: Damn right. Maybe a few bumps in the road, but we're fine. And you and E.J. Are gonna be fine, too.

Nicole: I know. I just -- I thought I had everything under control and that nothing would go wrong.

Chloe: Nothing will, okay? Your wedding is gonna be perfect, beautiful, just the way that you planned it. Nicole. What are you freaking out about? Okay, let's just get this out in the open. Is it because Brady came by?

Nicole: No.

Chloe: Well, then what is it? It's not E.J., Right?

Nicole: He loves me.

Chloe: Okay, then. What could possibly wreck your wedding? Hello. Oh. Sami.

Sami: So, this, um -- this really sweet nun -- she and I talked about it. She was the one who helped me with everything with Grace. And she was the one who said that being honest is the best way.

Lucas: A nun told you that, and you listened to her?

Sami: Lucas.

Lucas: What? You don't listen to anybody. You expect me to believe that you listened to a nun? Come on.

Sami: Well, it wasn't just sister Theresa, but she did get me thinking. And in the end, I realized that I don't want Grace to ever hate me for what I've done to her.

Lucas: All right. All right. I get that.

Sami: And there's us. You and me and... and I still regret the fact that I didn't tell you the truth about will as soon as I found out.

Lucas: Well, what's done is done, right? I'm actually impressed with you. But no more lies.

Sami: Right. No more lies. E.J. deserves to know the truth.

Lucas: Yeah, even though he's marrying Nicole today. So, why are you gonna do this? Are you doing this for Grace or E.J... or are you doing this just to stick it to Nicole?

Melanie: I mean it, Brady. E.J. may be hot -- I mean, really -- he's really hot. You know? Um, but have you ever seen the guy get angry?

Brady: Yeah. Yeah, I have. But it doesn't matter. I mean, um, Nicole said she loves him and wants to marry him, so there you go.

Melanie: Well... that's a mistake.

Brady: Why?

Melanie: Well, I tried to do business with him, remember?

Brady: Yeah, how could I forget?

Melanie: Right. Um, all I know is I don't want E.J. to come near me ever again. The way he looks at you -- it's like you know he could make you disappear and then go out to dinner.

Brady: [Chuckles] Yeah, I hear you.

Melanie: And if he ever found out you had a thing for his wife [Scoffs] Well, think about it.

E.J.: Father, I have no second thoughts about punching Philip, but the timing -- the timing!

Stefano: Elvis, listen to me. You cannot have it both ways, hmm? We have to strike while their guard is down -- today -- because if we don't [Laughs] Who knows how many months will go by before we have another chance? Listen... think about Antony. He should be here today with us. You're never going to see him smile again... hear his laugh. We can never forget Antony.

E.J.: No. Of course not.

Stefano: And we will never forgive.

E.J.: Right. Make the call. Do it now.

Stefano: Excellent. [Dialing] [Sighs deeply] It is time.

Chloe: Why are you still worried about Sami? I thought we talked about that.

Nicole: Yeah.

Chloe: We were sitting in the church. I was saying how you should just concentrate on yourself. Hello, remember that?

Nicole: Yes, I do.

Chloe: Come on. The hell with Sami, all right? You're the one who's marrying E.J. Sami's nothing but a single mom, all right? You are raising a daughter with E.J. She can't possibly compete with that.

Nicole: It's just I have this weird feeling about the wedding.

Chloe: Nicole, everything is gonna be fine. And you need to stop worrying about that horrible, bleach-blond witch with a soul the size of a pea.

Nicole: [Laughs]

Chloe: See? At least I got you to smile.

Nicole: Yeah, but...

Chloe: But what?

Nicole: I'm not worried about Sami.

Chloe: You're not?

Nicole: I took care of that stupid cow. She won't be bothering me and E.J. Anymore.

Sami: E.J. should know that Grace is his daughter. And, more importantly, Grace has to grow up knowing who her father is.

Lucas: And if it ruins Nicole's life in the process, that's icing on the cake.

Sami: Get out, okay? I don't care what happens with that stupid slut.

Lucas: No, you don't care about her at all, do you?

Sami: No, I don't. You know, she has not stopped with me since I got back. "Oh, E.J. And I are so happy together. Oh, our life is so perfect. Oh, we're gonna be so happy together for the rest of our lives." It's disgusting.

Lucas: So, you don't care about her one way or the other, do you, Sami?

Sami: No, I don't, but I can tell you one thing. She is in for it when E.J. Finds out that Grace is his daughter. I mean, I swear, she thinks she has problems with me now. She is gonna...

Lucas: Wait a minute. This isn't about Nicole. Is it, Sami?

Sami: What?

Lucas: This is about E.J. Yeah, you know how he is about his precious offspring. If he finds out this baby's his, he's gonna be banging on your door every day. He's gonna want visitation. You think you got it bad with Johnny? You can double that right now. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. That's what you want, isn't it?

Sami: What?

Lucas: I can't believe this. I can't believe I'm falling for the same old stories again and again.

Sami: What are you talking about? This is not a story.

Lucas: Really? Has nothing to do with E.J.? You don't want him back, Sami? It's not why you're doing this, because you have the hots for him still?

E.J.: I see.

Stefano: Now, you and I have to be in complete agreement about this mission. If you say no, Elvis, then it's no. But if you agree... signore Masi will do what needs to be done.

Philip: When does he want this to happen? That's great. It's not too demanding. What's the hotel? What's the room? All right, tell him I'll be there in, I don't know, 10, 15 minutes, okay? Well, might as well go for it. I've already ruined things with Stephanie again.

Chloe: You're kidding.

Nicole: Nope. Nope. When she was in witness protection, she sent her FBI bodyguard to spy on me or E.J. or Stefano. I mean, who knows?

Chloe: Well, that's not too risky.

Nicole: No. No, right? And guess what. Sami brings him back here to Salem as her new boyfriend. So, yes, I see them together, and I put them in a nice, neat little package.

Chloe: You told E.J.?

Nicole: Okay, don't look at me like I did something wrong. E.J. Saw Sami for who she really is, and mommy and daddy got a little closer. [Chuckles] Ooh, you should have seen her look when E.J. slammed the door in her face when she was trying to explain. God, I love that part. What?

Chloe: I don't know. What goes around, comes around.

Nicole: Chloe, please don't start with your karma stuff, okay?

Chloe: What, Nicole? I believe in it. I really do. You can laugh at me if you want, but I really believe that the more you try to hurt Sami, the greater the chances are that you'll get hurt in return.

Sami: I do not want E.J. back in my life.

Lucas: You're gonna do the one thing that's gonna make that happen.

Sami: I have to tell the truth. Why do you keep turning this into something it's not?

Lucas: Because it makes sense. I know you, Sami. I know you don't like to be alone, and I know you've always had a thing for E.J.

Sami: Lucas, I have not always had a thing for E.J.

Lucas: Yeah, you have. And with your FBI guy out of the picture --

Sami: He's not out of the picture, okay? He's just out of town temporarily.

Lucas: Fine. Whatever. Whatever. It's not my call, but I don't like where this is going at all.

Sami: Well, you're right about one thing. It's not your call.

Lucas: I can be concerned about the kids, can't I? How's this gonna affect Will and Allie?

Sami: Allie is too young, okay? She won't know anything different. And -- and will...

Lucas: Will's still trying to get over the whole adoption thing, Sami.

Sami: Well, now he won't have a reason to resent Grace.

Lucas: Fine, he'll be overjoyed.

Sami: Maybe he will.

Lucas: I hope he is. Fine. Still leaves us with a big problem. His name is E.J.

Sami: E.J. will be thrilled when he finds out that Grace is his daughter.

Lucas: He is gonna be furious when he finds out that you kept it from him, Sami. And you know E.J. When he's furious. You might as well find a foxhole.

E.J.: Signore Masi... this is an untraceable cellphone. You will wear it, and then you will dispose of it in the river. Inside are two numbers, also untraceable. One leads to me directly. The other leads to an associate of mine who can contact me at all times. You will never again speak directly to my father. Capito?

Masi: Senza dubbio. Tu decidi. Without a doubt.

E.J.: Good. Now, go, please.

Stefano: Grazie.

Brady: So, you don't think I can handle E.J. Are you kidding me? He's a pompous jerk, Melanie.

Melanie: The thing about E.J. is you never really see it coming. Nicole won't, either, so if she thinks she's gonna be able to pull a fast one on him, she has another thing coming. He won't let on, you know, of course, until he's ready. Then he'll make his move. And he'll take away everything she's ever wanted. I mean, he'll destroy every dream she's ever had... and then push her into her own grave. How's that for a downer, huh? [Chuckles]

Brady: You okay?

Melanie: Yeah, I'm fine. Nicole is the one that's playing a little too close to a jet engine. She doesn't know it yet, but when she says "I do," she's really signing her death warrant.

Chloe: Well?

Nicole: Wow! Geez, you look stunning.

Chloe: Thank you. But you know what? Once you're in that gown, you are gonna be the only sun in the sky. Are you ready?

Nicole: As I'll ever be.

Chloe: Wow. Well, there's enthusiasm if I ever heard it. Oh, this dress is so gorgeous. Nicole?

Nicole: You know, Chloe, um, I've been thinking about what you said -- the karma thing.

Chloe: Hey, make fun if you want, but it happens way too many times to not be true.

Nicole: I just think you're wrong. I mean, everything that I've done to Sami is totally justified. And if I'm enjoying it a little too much, well, that's just me getting a little of that good karma back for all the times she tried to wreck my life.

Chloe: Well, maybe.

Nicole: Well, the main thing is nothing bad is gonna happen. And, yes, I was upset earlier. But that was just nerves.

Chloe: Exactly. So just forget about all that.
