Stephanie: Philip, you can't go back.

Philip: Maybe you should have stayed, heard what he had to say.

Stephanie: It doesn't matter what he had to say. That's the problem. He's gonna say whatever he wants to get you back, and then it'll just be like it was before for you.

Philip: No. I don't think anything will be like it was before.

Stephanie: Okay, maybe he's sorry about what happened, and maybe it's finally sunk in how horribly he treats you.

Philip: He is sorry.

Stephanie: But that doesn't mean he's gonna change. Philip, you made a big step, but you've just made it.

Philip: What, you don't think I'm strong enough to deal with him now?

Stephanie: That's now what I said.

Philip: Stephanie, if -- if I'm gonna move on, it's not just about me. A lot of it is about you.

[Cellphone rings]

Will: Hello?

Mia: Hey, it's me.

Will: Mia, hey. How's it going?

Mia: Okay.

Will: Great. So, what's up?

Mia: Well, I was calling 'cause I finished the book you gave me.

Will: Oh, the graphic novel?

Mia: Yeah, it didn't seem that graphic to me, but I liked it.

Will: Good.

Mia: So I could bring it over if you want.

Will: No, no, no, no.

Mia: Wow, that was intense.

Will: Look, I'm here with Allie and the baby right now, so...where are you?

Mia: At java café.

Will: Oh, are you gonna be there for a while? I could come down and see you. We could talk about the book.

Mia: Okay. Just call me when you get free.

[Door unlocking]

Will: I think that's my mom right now. I'll call you back. Hey, m-- uh...

Rafe: Hey.

Will: You. You're not my mom.

Rafe: Uh, no, not last time I checked. By that, I guess she's not here. Where is she?

Will: She went to see E.J.

Sami: Find that stupid penguin so we can get out of here.

E.J.: He's sleeping, all right? Can you just give me five minutes?

Sami: No, I'm not. I'm taking Johnny home with me right now. Now, where's the penguin?

E.J.: You can take Johnny home, okay? Just, please, calm down. Can you just talk to me for five minutes and sit down?

Sami: I can talk until I'm blue in the face, E.J., But that's not gonna change anything. It's not gonna change you and your father going after Philip, is it?

E.J.: Tony just died. He's a little upset at the moment.

Sami: Oh, yeah, so it's just a momentary thing? Because it's so wildly out of character for Stefano DiMera to try to get revenge?

E.J.: He's not going after revenge. These are business dealings with the Kiriakis family.

Sami: That's right. Well, he wanted him dead. And if that's your business, then whatever, but you conduct your business as far away from me and my son as possible.

E.J.: You don't have anything to be worried about.

Sami: Do you know where I've been for the last several months? Away from my kids, and you want to know why? Because I witnessed a murder on your doorstep.

E.J.: I know, but that whole situation's over with now.

Sami: And now your father's starting a new "situation," and I don't want to have anything to do with that. I want to protect my son.

E.J.: Darling, nothing is ever gonna happen to us 'cause I won't let it. I will never let anything happen to you, either.

Rafe: She went to see E.J.? Where?

Will: Where he lives, I guess, agent Hernandez.

Rafe: How long has she been gone?

Will: Quite a while, sir. They'll be back in a few hours, sir. Any more questions, sir?

Rafe: No. Sorry.

Will: I'm gonna go watch Allie's movie with her.

Rafe: Will, I'm sorry, okay? I get like that when I'm worried about her.

Sami: E.J., This is like our central problem. You tell me to trust you. You tell me that you'll do anything to protect Johnny.

E.J.: You think I won't?

Sami: Well, you won't do the one thing that would actually help -- get away from Stefano.

E.J.: My father is grieving, Samantha. He just lost his son.

Sami: Right. Oh, he did. Why did he lose tony? Because of the way he runs his business, the way he runs his life.

E.J.: That is not fair, and that is not true.

Sami: It isn't fair? Come on. My son is a part of a family where a man can just say, "Philip should be dead." Why? The police said it was an accident. Nicole says it was an accident, but Stefano's insisting that it was murder. He wants it to be. He's enjoying this.

E.J.: Samantha, that is enough!

Nicole: What is going on here?

E.J.: I understand your fears, but my father is grieving and you should not speak about him that way.

Nicole: All right, will one of you please tell me what's wrong?

Sami: All right, I get it that he's grieving, but I am not backing down. This is my son we're talking about.

Nicole: From what?

Sami: Oh, God. Thank God. All right, Nicole, I'm taking Johnny and I'm getting the hell out of here.

Nicole: Okay.

Sami: This has to upset you, too, right? I mean, you have a little girl. Now you have Sydney to worry about. Doesn't it bother you what's happening in this house?

Nicole: Sami, what's wrong? Why are you so upset?

Sami: Do you want to tell her or should I?

Stephanie: You think I'm being selfish that I want you all to myself?

Philip: God, no. That's not what I said. That's not what I mean. Stephanie, if we are going to be together --

Stephanie: "If"?

Philip: Look, I can't be with you if that means I'm gonna be running away from my family.

Stephanie: It's not what I mean. It means you'll be standing up for yourself.

Philip: [Sighs] Look, I know you don't trust my father. I know you think that he's saying things that -- that he thinks I want to hear, but --

Stephanie: I just -- I just want you to be your own person.

Philip: And that's what I want, Stephanie. You got to understand that I feel like I'm leaving a lot of unfinished business. I feel like I created this huge mess and I just bailed.

Stephanie: You didn't bail. He fired you. He kicked you out.

Philip: We're Greek. Lots of drama.

Stephanie: It's not funny.

Philip: You're right. It isn't. Stephanie, sweetie, there are gonna be repercussions. I have to take responsibility for what I did.

Stephanie: It was an accident.

Philip: Maybe I didn't mean to kill tony, but I did go there, wanting to harm him.

Stephanie: Okay, so, when does it end, Philip? When are there no repercussions? It ends when you stop playing the game.

Philip: It isn't a game. This is my family. This is who I am.

Stephanie: Right, well, then, I guess this is goodbye.

Will: I tried to watch Allie's movie. I just can't do it. I hate singing kittens.

Rafe: Is Grace asleep?

Will: Uh, yeah. I gave her a bottle. It makes her sleepy.

Rafe: You change her?

Will: Yeah, changed her.

Rafe: Look, man, I didn't mean to, you know, jump all over you.

Will: Oh, no, man. It's okay. I know you're just trying to take care of her.

Rafe: Will, listen, for a long time where I worked, you were either taking orders or you were giving orders, and, uh, I know that I was a little harsh on you the other day.

Will: It's fine. You're not thrilled she's at the DiMeras, are you?

Rafe: Yeah, well, it's none of my business, is it?

Will: I know. It's like the same thing with Grace. You just want to make sure she's okay.

Rafe: Right. Hey, listen, would it bother you if I just hung out and waited her till she got back?

Will: You mean would it bother me 'cause of what I said the other day?

Rafe: Hey, listen, right, I get it. You know, I know. This is your place.

Will: Look, man, when I said that the other day, I was being kind of a jerk.

Rafe: Oh, yeah.

Will: I'm sorry.

Rafe: No, no, don't worry about it. Like I have no idea what it's like to be a jerk.

Will: Look, I-I tend to bring out the worst in people, so you can hang out, man. Have a seat.

Rafe: Thanks.

Will: [Chuckles] Do you want a beer or something?

Rafe: No, I'm good.

Will: So, you must be pretty hung up on my mom. You know, buying her diapers and everything.

Dr. Baker: Easy, whoa. Mia, be careful. You almost burned yourself.

Mia: Dr. Baker.

Dr. Baker: Hi.

Mia: I-I heard you were in town.

Dr. Baker: Yeah, and I heard you were back from Japan. What happened? After Salem, Tokyo a little too dull for you?

Mia: No.

Dr. Baker: Then why'd you come back so soon?

Nicole: What the hell is she talking about?

E.J.: She overheard father talking about Philip. And now she's worried about Johnny staying here.

Sami: Because he wasn't just talking about Philip. He was talking about wanting Philip dead.

Nicole: Well, she has a point. The last few days, this hasn't exactly been Mr. Rogers' neighborhood. And, yes, I do worry about the same thing. I mean, I know that Sydney is only an infant, but I do worry about her growing up in this house.

E.J.: Nicole!

Nicole: E.J., you're the one who keeps preaching that we should be adults when it comes to the kids, but what, I'm not allowed to agree with Sami? And we have a wedding to plan, so if Sami wants to take Johnny home, it makes sense.

Sami: Yes, she's right. It makes sense, so if you'll excuse me, I'll just do that.

Nicole: Wait, hang on, Sami. Just a minute. Actually, I have a favor. I'd like you to bring Johnny to the wedding.

Rafe: I am not hung up on her.

Will: Uh-huh, that's why you do her grocery shopping, and you get mad when she goes to her exes.

Rafe: I'm not mad. Just worried about her.

Will: Right.

Rafe: Maybe I'll have that beer now.

Will: You don't like talking about her, do you?

Rafe: Uh, no, not really, especially not with her kid.

Will: Oh, then maybe we should go back to what you were talking about, you know, telling me how to run my life and how to act.

Rafe: Wow, there's a lot of her in you, isn't there? Look, will, I'm sorry if you have a problem with me, okay?

Will: I don't. Well, not really. I just don't like you acting like this is a simple situation. 'Cause it's not.

Rafe: You're right. It's not.

Will: Look, and if you start thinking that you have a shot with her, it's just gonna make things more complicated, 'cause I'm pretty sure she's not into you the way you're into her.

Nicole: E.J. And I want Johnny to be part of the wedding. And, um -- and if you're there with him, then he'll feel like he's at the center of a lot of people who love him.

Sami: You're still going through with the wedding?

[Doorbell rings]

E.J.: I'll get that.

Sami: Coward.

Nicole: Well, I think the biggest thing in the whole world that he's afraid of is us being together.

Sami: Right. But seriously, Nicole, you're gonna actually go through with the wedding now, even after what just happened to tony?

Nicole: I know this house is grim right now, but E.J. and I, we want to move on. We want to do something positive.

Sami: Haven't you ever heard of volunteer work?

Nicole: This wedding is happening.

Sami: Okay. It doesn't bother you that it's gonna seem tacky.

Nicole: It's going to be magical, every girl's dream, and nothing is going to spoil it.

Sami: Okay. I just wouldn't be too sure --

Nicole: Oh. Wow. Wow, those are beautiful. Are those for the wedding?

E.J.: No, they're not for the wedding. They're condolence flowers for tony.

Nicole: Oh.

E.J.: From Kate Roberts. She's got some nerve.

Sami: Oh, come on, E.J. I mean, I'm not Kate's biggest fan or anything, but I'm sure she just meant it to be polite.

E.J.: She was trying to ask our family to go easy on her little Philip because he is the reason that my brother is dead.

Sami: E.J., Listen to yourself. I realize that you and Stefano are upset, but you are angry right now, and --

E.J.: I know. I get it. You don't want Johnny to be around that. I thought you two had sorted this out. You didn't sort it out? Huh, sweetheart? Well, maybe she backed you up. She does that. Backed Philip up, didn't she?

Nicole: E.J., Please.

E.J.: Give yourself credit, sweetheart. I mean, you're the reason he's home free.

Nicole: I thought we worked this out. I thought we were gonna move on and we weren't gonna discuss this anymore.

Sami: Wow, if E.J.'S this mad, I can only imagine how angry Stefano is.

Nicole: Sami, this is private.

Sami: Nicole, think about it. You can't break ranks with the DiMeras without paying the price.

E.J.: You should listen to her. She knows what she's talking about.

Nicole: E.J., I know that this is difficult, but we can't let this change things.

Sami: Wow, if there's really gonna be a wedding, I can't wait to hear Stefano's toast.

Philip: Do you know how many times you've broken up with me?

Stephanie: You find that amusing?

Philip: "Amusing"? No. But it's losing its impact, you know? Kind of like the boy who cried wolf. Starting not to believe you.

Stephanie: Okay, well, maybe you'll believe me when I tell you to get the hell out of here, huh? Come on, go.

Philip: Fine. Fine, I'll go. I'll go. You know, I just want you to know...that I was getting used to having you in my life. And to think about you not being in my life, it hurts.

Stephanie: It hurts me, too.

Philip: Don't do this, then. We can work this out. We're bound to get it right at some point.

Stephanie: No, it doesn't work for me. I can't -- I can't stand to watch someone I love turn into someone I don't even like, all for some stupid company and some family that's not even a family. I just -- I'm tired of being your --

Philip: What, conscience?

Stephanie: I just want to be your girlfriend.

Philip: I know. It just doesn't seem in the cards, does it?

Stephanie: See? Oh, my God. After everything we've been through, Philip, and you just -- you're gonna give up on us? Now I know that when I thought that maybe we could work this out together, I was dreaming.

Stephanie: Let's make this fast.

Philip: Yeah, whatever. You know, Steph, if I could be the guy that you wanted me to be --

Stephanie: You can't, Philip. I get that. I think I've known that from the beginning.

Philip: I love you.

[Footsteps approaching]

[Keys jingle]

Chelsea: What happened? I just saw Philip outside, and he didn't even say hi.

Stephanie: He's leaving for good.

Dr. Baker: So, things just didn't work out for you over there?

Mia: Uh, I-I had a change of plans.

Dr. Baker: Yeah, well, tell me about it. I had a job offer in Detroit. Look where I ended up.

Mia: Right, well, I'm actually meeting someone, so if you'll excuse me.

Dr. Baker: Oh, yeah, sure. I'll leave you alone. Uh, Mia? How are you? I mean, I know how hard it is for any mother to give up a baby.

Mia: It's hard to talk about it, too.

Dr. Baker: Yeah. Have you seen your little girl since you got back in town?

Will: Are you sure it's okay if you stay here and look after Allie and Grace?

Rafe: Yep, not a problem.

Will: Thanks, man. I really appreciate it. After I said...well, I shouldn't have said what I said.

Rafe: Don't worry about it.

Will: It's not like she's into somebody else, like you got shown up or something.

Rafe: Well, thanks. Makes me feel a lot better.

Will: Oh, no problem.

Rafe: The thing about your mom and I, will, is that, uh... we're friends.

Will: Right. And I just want to talk about books with Mia.

Rafe: Who's Mia?

Will: What? I didn't say that. What are you talking about? Hey, I'm gonna call my mom and tell her what's going on.

Rafe: Okay. Should I not tell her about Mia?

Will: If you stick around long enough, you're gonna learn that it's best to just tell my mom the minimum to get by. Just makes things simpler.

[Door closes]

Rafe: Nothing about your mother is simple, will.

Nicole: As much fun as this is, I'm gonna go upstairs and check on Sydney, so feel free to talk openly about really personal things, E.J. Why don't you go ahead and tell Sami all about how I failed the DiMera family?!

Sami: Trouble in paradise?

[Clears throat]

E.J.: Maybe you're right, Samantha. Maybe Johnny would be happier with you right now.

Sami: Yeah. You know, I don't know if you know this or not, E.J., But couples who are about to get married are usually happier with each other.

E.J.: She did some things that upset me. She knows what they are.

Sami: I'm sure she knows. I just don't think she understands how you could side with Stefano against her.

E.J.: That's not what I'm doing.

Sami: Well, it seems clear to me that you're expecting her to lie about what happened with Philip so that he can pay for what you think he did.

E.J.: Can I help you getting in the car?

Sami: No. I just think you should pay attention and be careful. I mean, you have kids to think about.

E.J.: I don't need to be reminded of that, Samantha.

Sami: Okay. I'm gonna go get Johnny.

Chelsea: What happened?

Stephanie: What do you think happened? His father happened.

Chelsea: My grandpa victor was here?

Stephanie: Yes. He came here to apologize to Philip and to tell him that he's changed. Yeah, right. He was just trying to get him to go back home.

Chelsea: And Philip agreed.

Stephanie: Do you really have to ask?

Chelsea: I'm sorry, Steph.

Stephanie: Don't be. I'm just facing reality. Philip's family is much more important to him than I am.

Chelsea: Is that what you think?

Stephanie: What else is there to think?

Chelsea: I don't know. Isn't it possible that...

Stephanie: Isn't what possible? Spit it out.

Chelsea: Okay, well, Philip is gonna go move back in with my grandfather, and I just thought maybe it's possible that Philip wanted you to get so upset so that you would break up with him. Maybe he's just doing this for you.

Mia: No. No, I haven't seen the baby. But, please, like I said, I'm meeting someone.

Dr. Baker: And you don't want to explain how we know each other. That makes sense.

Mia: I'm trying to start over. I want to forget.

Dr. Baker: Good for you. Sorry if I upset you.

Will: Hey. So, who was that old guy?

Nicole: E.J., We really need to talk about this.

E.J.: About Sydney's doctor? I just got a phone call. That's a fun way to find out. Don't you think? You changed my daughter's doctor without telling me.

Nicole: Oh, I --

E.J.: You also, evidently, neglected to tell me that Dr. Baker is at university hospital.

Nicole: Well, I didn't seem to think it was that important.

E.J.: Really? You didn't seem to think it was that important. See, I'm having a bit of a hard time figuring this one out, sweetheart. I wonder if you'd be kind enough to help me along. When Sydney was born, you begged me to let baker be her doctor, but now he's at university hospital, "no, no, no, no, no. We don't want him." So why don't you tell me what the hell is going on?

Sami: Hey, I'm so glad you were here, but was will mad at me for being late?

Rafe: Um, no. He didn't seem to be.

Sami: She must be so hungry.

Rafe: Will actually fed her. She seems pretty happy.

Sami: Really?

Rafe: Yeah. You don't...seem happy.

Sami: I was gonna let Johnny spend the night there. That house is crazy.

Rafe: Really?

Sami: I know, I know. Spare me the three choruses of "I told you so." I mean, I just had to get Johnny out of there. I wish I could have gotten E.J. Out of there.

Rafe: Why?

Sami: I don't want to talk to you about it.

Rafe: Why not?

Sami: Because I know how you feel about E.J. You have no ability to be objective about him.

Rafe: Well, try me.

Sami: You're not gonna be how you usually are.

Rafe: Right.

Sami: I was upset, okay? About E.J., about the whole situation. I mean, his brother was just killed, and...his father is going all crazy maniac warlord, and Nicole's on the other side of it, pulling them apart, and I had to get my son out of there. I wish I could have gotten E.J. Out of there.

Rafe: You're telling me he can't take care of himself?

Sami: He's in a lot of pain.

Rafe: Well, that's just awful. Doesn't change things, though, does it? Him and Johnny are different. It's not like you can put him in a car seat and drive him away.

Sami: No, you're right about that. The only way to get E.J. Out of there is...to tell him the truth about Grace. Government - as the province hands down one of the most critical budgets in decades today. So - what's in the budget and how will it affect you? We'll crunch the numbers - tonight at six on the news hour. . . . .

Stephanie: Philip chooses his father over me and that's for my own good?

Chelsea: He didn't choose his father over you.

Stephanie: I just got done explaining that he left.

Chelsea: Let me explain, okay? What exactly did my grandfather say to Philip when he was here?

Stephanie: I told you, that he was sorry and that he wanted him to come back.

Chelsea: That's all?

Stephanie: I don't know.

Chelsea: What do you mean you don't know? You weren't here?

Stephanie: No, I left him alone. I wanted Philip to stand up for himself. I didn't want to intrude. Probably should have. Anyway, what do you think victor told Philip, other than that he was sorry and he wanted him to come back?

Chelsea: I don't know. Never mind.

Stephanie: Chelsea, you can't do that. Just tell me.

Chelsea: Look, you know what? I honestly believe that this is for the best. I mean, you and Philip, you're always having problems, and he's always making you unhappy. I just think that maybe now it's time for you to cut your losses.

Stephanie: That's funny. That's exactly what he said before he left. What are you not telling me?

Chelsea: I just think that maybe Philip thinks you're better off without him.

Stephanie: Back to "he's doing it for me."

Chelsea: Stephanie, can't you figure it out? He's trying to protect you. He thinks that you'll be safer this way.

E.J.: You change my daughter's doctor without even telling me.

Nicole: E.J., you don't even like Dr. Baker.

E.J.: Do you know how you know that? Because I told you. You don't tell me anything!

Nicole: You mean I don't

clear everything with you. You're scaring me, E.J. You're getting to be more and more like your father.

E.J.: My father, Nicole, is not often wrong.

Nicole: But I am. E.J...I saw tony...lying there, bleeding, and there was nothing that I could do. I went to the hospital and waited with the sick feeling that he wasn't gonna make it, knowing that someone I cared about was going to die, all because of the way your father does things. And did anyone ask how I was? If it was painful for me? Or scary? And all I got was a cold shoulder because I wouldn't perjure myself so that the DiMeras could have payback.

E.J.: No, we wouldn't want you to perjure yourself, would we? I mean, you're Nicole walker. Your word is your bond.

Nicole: E.J., I would do anything for you and our daughter, but that doesn't mean anything to you, does it? God.

Rafe: I know you're not a big fan of thinking things through. What do you think's gonna happen when you tell E.J., Huh? It's like, "oh, okay. That's great. That changes everything."

Sami: Okay, you're just acting like this 'cause you're jealous.

Rafe: I'm -- you think that this is personal?

Sami: Yes, I do think it's personal, and it shouldn't be.

Rafe: Well, then, let me ask you something, Sami. Would you have even thought about telling him about Grace if he weren't about to walk down the aisle with a woman that you hate?

Stephanie: You really think Philip's trying to protect me? You think he's in danger?

Chelsea: I shouldn't have said anything.

Stephanie: That's why his dad came here, that's what he said that made Philip go back.

Chelsea: No, you don't know that.

Stephanie: No, actually, I do. Even before he talked to his father, he was concerned about me. He didn't want me to go through what he was going through.

Chelsea: Maybe he's right.

Stephanie: And I was really, really wrong.

Will: So, you knew that guy?

Mia: I met him. My -- my cousin knows him. So, you were taking care of your sister?

Will: My adopted sister.

Mia: Okay, don't -- don't say that.

Will: What?

Mia: Babies -- adopted babies -- they have to be family, real family.

Will: Okay, okay, you're right.

Mia: That baby didn't do anything wrong.

Will: Okay, you're right. And you already gave me this lecture the other day, so sorry I said it.

Mia: Right. Anyway, I was -- I was thinking about her. Um, tell your mom if she ever needs a babysitter, I'd do it.

Will: Listen, she always needs a babysitter, but are you sure? 'Cause it's not as easy as you might think. You don't just hold her and go "goo-goo, gaga."

Mia: I know that, but I want to take care of her. I don't know. Something about her really got to me.

Rafe: So, what? What's the big deal? I don't like E.J.

Sami: Yeah, well, I don't like Nicole.

Rafe: Yeah, but you can't use Grace to get back at her.

Sami: That is not what I am doing. I am trying to do what I think is best for my daughter. Look, what if I was wrong? I mean, from the moment I found out I was pregnant, I decided that E.J. Should never find out that he's the father.

Rafe: Yeah, and I think you had good reasons for that.

Sami: I know I had good reasons. But...what if that's not enough? Sister Theresa said telling the truth is always better than telling a lie. She's E.J.'S daughter. She has his blood running through her veins. If I keep her from finding out the truth, isn't that just like denying her who she really is?

E.J.: Don't cry. Please.

Nicole: Yeah, you're right. It's just a trick, another evasion.

E.J.: You said it.

Nicole: You just don't trust me. That's the bottom line, isn't it?

E.J.: Bingo.

Nicole: I don't tell you about Sydney's doctor -- wow. Wow, that is obviously some sort of treachery.

E.J.: Now, why wouldn't you tell me that?

Nicole: Why? E.J., you just lost someone you love. And I'm trying to plan a wedding to a man who clearly doesn't like me anymore. And my future father-in-law is planning murder because I didn't lie to put Philip away for the rest of his life, and then I come home to you and Sami arguing. So I'm sorry. I am so sorry that I didn't say, "hey, honey. Guess what's going on with Sydney's pediatrician."

E.J.: You know what, sweetheart? Maybe you and I need to stop and think about this wedding.

[Doorbell rings]

Philip: Hey.

Stephanie: I'm here.

Philip: Maybe you shouldn't be.

Stephanie: If you want me to leave, you're gonna have to make me.

Will: Uh, do you want more coffee?

Mia: I'm good.

Dr. Baker: New boyfriend?

Mia: I thought you left.

Dr. Baker: Well, now I'm back. Take care, Mia. Hope to see you again.

Nicole: You don't mean think about the wedding. You mean call it off.

E.J.: You know, I think... that you know when you're in trouble when even Samantha thinks this is a bad idea.

Nicole: Why am I not surprised?

E.J.: Nicole, there was a time when both of us were sure 100% that we were on the right path.

Nicole: And -- and now you're not sure, are you?

E.J.: I don't think that you are.

Nicole: Do you see how you put this on me? What is it that I'm supposed to do?

E.J.: You're not supposed to cry.

Nicole: Okay, right, I won't. I'm sorry.

E.J.: Nicole...you're sad. You can tell me that you're not, but I know that you are.

Nicole: I'm not sad. I have everything I ever wanted.

E.J.: But you can't fool me. I've seen you happy, remember? I know the difference.

Nicole: E.J., w-we're exhausted. We're -- we're grieving.

E.J.: Well, I think we need to re-evaluate where we are.

Nicole: So do you think we should postpone the wedding?

E.J.: I think we need to spend some time apart.

Nicole: E.J.

E.J.: I'm sorry.

Nicole: [Sobbing] [Sobbing] Oh, God.

Rafe: Sami, listen to me. Sami. I know that you are always looking out for Grace's best interest.

Sami: What my grandmother did hurt my Uncle Bo. What I did hurt will. I know it did. And I just -- I don't want to hurt Grace that way.

Rafe: I know. I know that. It's just, you know, after everything that you have done [Chuckles] That we have done to keep E.J. From knowing, I think that telling him now would be very, very dangerous.

Sami: Yeah, but that argument just means that telling him tomorrow is worse than telling him today, and next week is worse than tomorrow, and next year is just --

Rafe: Would you look at what kind of man he is?! We're not telling him, okay?

Sami: But here's the thing -- this isn't our decision. It's mine. It's my decision. I -- I have to check on the twins.

Rafe: Well, Grace, uh... your mother seems to think that you're not a part of my life, so... I got to go. I'll see you later.

Sami: Look, Rafe, I'M...

Nicole: I don't know what I'm thinking. This marriage is doomed.

Lucas: With Tony's death, I'll tell you right now, Maggie, that family better stay the hell away from my brother.

Chelsea: He has to live with his guilt for the rest of his life.

E.J.: Oh, Philip gets to live with his guilt, does he?! Philip gets to live!
