Nicole: You're the only one, Brady. Sometimes I just get so scared, and you're the only one I can talk to about it.
Brady: I know that.
Nicole: Can you just tell me that everything's gonna be okay, please?
Brady: Yes. Listen, everything is gonna be okay. E.J. Isn't gonna know, okay? No one is gonna know. Just the two of us.
Nicole: Thank God you came back into my life.
Brady: Don't you worry about it 'cause I'm not going anywhere.
Nicole: Okay.
Brady: Mm. Except right now, actually. I got to go do something, okay?
Nicole: I know. Okay.
Brady: Don't be scared. You've gotten away with everything so far, right?
Philip: Well, this is gonna be a great day.
Melanie: Philip, look.
Stephanie: Bitch.
Melanie: [Laughs] Why the hell did you just do that?
Stephanie: I don't know. Felt like it. Felt like some non-verbal communication.
Melanie: Yeah? Let me give you a little piece of advice. You shouldn't go around picking fights with people who could tear you limb from limb.
Stephanie: I'd like to see you try.
Maggie: Have you seen Lucas? Where is he?
Daniel: No, I haven't seen Lucas. Why would I?
Maggie: Uh, Lucas, uh -- he's -- he's been drinking because of Chloe. Now, l-look, I need to find him so that he doesn't do anything crazy.
Daniel: Doesn't do -- and you think he's here. Now, again, why?
Maggie: He knows. I -- I told him about you and Chloe.
Daniel: You -- that is not your call.
Maggie: Okay, look.
Daniel: You need to stay --
Maggie: Yeah, all right. Yell at me later, all right? But we need to find him and stop him.
Daniel: From what?
Maggie: Because he's furious, and he's making threats and -- and I think he might try to hurt you. See, I thought he had passed out, but he -- he tricked me. He tricked me, and he got away.
Daniel: Well, if he's not here, then he -- he must -- oh, my God. Chloe.
Lucas: I know what you did! I know what's going on! Come out here and face me, you s-- face me like a man! Did you have fun, huh?! Did you have fun getting away with it?! While I was there with my dying mother at the hospital, were you laughing inside, huh?! Were you and Chloe trying not to laugh? Is that it?!
Chloe: [Moaning]
[Coughs] Lucas. Lucas, where are you? Oh, God, no! Lucas! Oh, God!
Stephanie: So, you gonna tear me limb from limb or what?
Melanie: No, baby, I said I could and that you shouldn't go around slapping people you're not equipped to handle.
Stephanie: A sandwich? You were making a sandwich on that table? Did you hose it down first? Blech.
Melanie: You can go now.
Stephanie: Wait a second. Wait, wait. That's one sandwich, and Philip doesn't like peanut butter. His car is not outside, either. Hmm. Guess there's no pillow talk when the pillow's actually a place mat.
Melanie: Leave, Stephanie.
Stephanie: You talked about me being humiliated. He treated you like a common tramp.
Melanie: I said don't talk to me like that again, okay? I don't know what they put in the water around here to make you think you're so everlovin' special, but you are no better than me and not nearly as strong.
E.J.: Melanie, leave her alone.
Melanie: You just couldn't hold on to Philip.
E.J.: Melanie!
Nicole: Everything's gonna be okay, Sydney. You hear me? Brady's gonna make sure that we don't have anything to worry about.
[Doorbell rings] Oh. Be right back. So, for a change of pace, how about a nap, huh? Oh. Philip. What are you doing here?
Philip: Is that any way to treat your old partner in crime?
Nicole: Well, my criminal days are over. I'm on the straight and narrow now.
Philip: A remarkable transformation.
Nicole: So, you're here because...
Philip: I actually came to see E.J.
Nicole: Ah. Well, he's not here.
Philip: Of course he isn't. I don't even think you're brazen enough to be cavorting around the front yard with Brady if E.J. Was here.
Nicole: I don't know what you're talking about, and it's time for the baby's bath, so...
Philip: Ah, if I didn't know any better, I'd think you were trying to get rid of me.
Nicole: I will tell E.J. You were here.
Philip: That would be good, proving you don't keep everything from him.
Nicole: Excuse me?
Philip: Like the song says, "you're still the same" -- secrets and lies.
Nicole: Why don't you go now?
Philip: I'm just getting to the good part, honey.
E.J.: Well, well, well. Girls behaving badly. Put her down, please. You all right?
Stephanie: Fine. [Chuckles]
E.J.: Good. Now I'd like you to leave, please.
Stephanie: Oh, I don't need you or any other man to save me from this little girl, E.J.
E.J.: I'm quite sure that's the case, but I have some business to discuss with miss Layton -- private business.
Stephanie: You sure about that? Excuse me. You know, I wonder if this little negotiation will be anything like the one that you had with Philip.
Melanie: Stephanie, you're a bitch -- oh, yeah, a single bitch.
E.J.: Thank you.
Melanie: Yeah, well, it was a good thing you showed up. She makes me cranky. I might have accidentally hurt her.
E.J.: Well, that would be a mistake.
Melanie: Everybody always sticks up for Stephanie.
E.J.: That's not really my point. You're about to sign a deal that's gonna make you a very wealthy woman. I don't think you need a lawsuit on your hands. Time you stopped being so reckless, young lady.
Melanie: You really think like a lawyer.
E.J.: Brings me to my next point. I have in here two contracts, each one of which requires three signatures. That is if you wish to get your money.
Melanie: Now's not really a good time for me, E.J.
E.J.: I don't particularly care about that. Sign.
Melanie: I don't really like your tone.
E.J.: Well, I don't particularly care about that, either. Sign.
Melanie: Look, I -- I have to think about this.
E.J.: The time for thinking, miss Layton, is rather over. You may be able to play your little games with Philip Kiriakis and that lady right there, but you don't play games with me, not unless you wish to lose -- I believe the expression is "big time."
Philip: So... what is it that you and Brady are hiding?
Nicole: You think that you have something on me, Philip, and you don't. Brady and I are friends, and E.J. Knows that.
Philip: Friends with benefits, with... repercussions?
Nicole: Wow, you are slipping, Philip. You can't even count to nine. That bun has been in the oven way before Brady came back to Salem.
Philip: I don't know. Maybe you slipped over to Austria and helped him out with rehab.
Nicole: I didn't lay eyes on him until he came back.
Philip: And now you have him under your thumb again. [Exhales] Brady, Brady, Brady. Tower of strength, that one. You screw up his life once, and now he can't stay away from you.
Nicole: We are friends.
Philip: Friends -- not with benefits but secrets. So, what is it that you and Brady have going on here? What did Brady promise E.J. Would never find out?
Maggie: Who are you calling?
Daniel: Chloe. She's at my apartment.
Maggie: Oh. Well, you don't think that -- oh, this is a disaster!
Chloe: Oh, God. Oh, God. Oh, God, it's dead. My cell -- my cell -- where's my cell? My cell, Lucas. Hold on. Hold on. Lucas, co-- don't die, okay? Don't die. Think of will and Allie. Come on. Come on, baby. Oh, God, no! Come on!
Melanie: You're kind of freaking me out.
E.J.: Well, that would be an entirely appropriate response. Let me give you some advice, miss Layton. You're playing in a very big league, very high stakes. "DiMera" is not exactly Italian for "easy come, easy go." So, I'm glad that you're scared. Hopefully, it will occur to you not to do anything stupid.
Melanie: I'm just looking out for my future.
E.J.: You do that. But understand that while you negotiated with me -- and I'm a fairly amiable fellow, I like to think -- you entered into a verbal agreement with my father. Whether you like it or not, you're doing business with Stefano DiMera.
Melanie: Oh, yeah, I've -- I've heard of him.
E.J.: The time for thinking is over. You need to sign this contract... by each of the little, yellow stickers. You know, it's funny. The guy who invented those -- multimillionaire. Isn't that interesting? Kind of makes you think. I wonder what you're going to do with all of the money from our little venture.
Melanie: Yeah. You know, Titan enterprises is pretty big, too.
E.J.: They certainly are. I'm quite sure Philip is gonna be very upset when he hears about this.
Melanie: I'm still kind of afraid of them.
E.J.: Well, you are wise to be. But let me tell you this. If you continue to cooperate with us... we will continue to watch over you.
[Pen scratching] This is your copy. I suggest you put it somewhere safe. Now, on the flip side... if you fail to cooperate with us, we will, rather forcefully, remind you of this agreement.
Melanie: Right.
E.J.: Miss Layton?
Melanie: Oh, right. The other half of the formula.
E.J.: Thank you. That's a very safe place to keep things.
Melanie: We're not -- we're not done here. My money.
E.J.: [Laughs] Yes.
Philip: Hmm.
Nicole: You think that you can hurt someone, and that sends little tingles down your spine.
Philip: You seem to have settled quite nicely here, Nicole. You always were a girl who liked mansions.
Nicole: Well, anywhere I can hang my hat. Goodbye, Philip.
Philip: You're gonna let me out of here without making a deal?
Nicole: What deal?
Philip: What do you think's gonna happen if I go to E.J. and tell him I know about Brady?
Nicole: Nothing's gonna happen. Brady and I are not having an affair. I just had E.J.'S baby, for God's sake.
Philip: Well, I know that's quite a healthy annuity you have over there in that bassinet.
Nicole: Oh, you're disgusting.
Philip: And looky here. Looks like you're already making a move to seal the deal. Nicole walker DiMera. Set for life.
Nicole: All right, Philip. Let's say you're right. Let's say I'm scheming and conniving. Do you really think that I would risk all of this just to have an affair with Brady before I even marry E.J.?
Philip: No. But what did Brady mean when he said he was...never gonna tell E.J.? What kind of promise did he make you? What's going on, Nicole?
Nicole: All right, well, if it makes you feel better, I asked Brady to promise not to tell E.J. What I did to him and Chloe.
Philip: I don't think so. I don't think so. E.J. already knew you had that nasty bitch side to you. But outside there with Brady, you were -- you were really scared. So that leads me to believe that this is life-altering.
Nicole: Okay. Without conceding that there is anything going on, Philip, you have no idea what we were talking about. You've got bubkes, sweetie. Bubkes.
Philip: I have E.J.
Nicole: What?
Philip: With all that DiMera relentlessness, if I tell him that there's a big, fat, nasty secret out there, one that Brady knows and he doesn't, he won't stop until he finds out what it is.
Nicole: No. I am the mother of his child. He loves me, and he trusts me.
Philip: Well, let's see how this turns out. Look at that. He's on speed dial.
Nicole: No, Philip. No! Let go.
Chloe: Oh, God, no, this can't be! Come on. Oh, God, where's my phone? Oh, yes. Yes. Oh, come on.
[Breathing heavily] Hi, there's been a terrible accident. 110 Gilford avenue, apartment 32. A man is badly hurt. No, he's not breathing. No, no pulse. You have to hurry up and get here. Please, hurry up! Oh, God. Oh, God. Lucas, baby, come on. Hang in there, okay? Oh, God. Oh, God! God, please. I know I asked you for a sign, but not this. You can't do this to Lucas. You can't do this to his kids. Please, bring him back. Please! God! Come on! Wake up!
Stephanie: [Crying]
Brady: Hey.
Stephanie: Hey, Brady.
Brady: Well, this is -- this is nice, huh? It's late February, it's freezing, and we're hanging out at the park.
Stephanie: Actually, uh, I was just about to go.
Brady: Stephanie, hey. You gonna tell me what's -- what's wrong?
Stephanie: Nothing.
Brady: Wow. You -- you are a bad liar. Is it Philip?
Stephanie: Nope.
Brady: Another bad lie. You know, Stephanie, this may sound like a one-size-fits-all excuse, but Philip's been under a lot of pressure lately. So if you two had a fight, it's probably --
Stephanie: No. No, actually, we didn't. Um, Melanie and I had a fight. But Philip -- I wasn't even worth a fight. I mean, he didn't even raise his voice once.
Brady: Philip's not the most demonstrative guy, but I know that he cares about you.
Stephanie: And that's why he would tell me that he didn't want me in front of Melanie. Oh, but it's okay. It's totally fine because he apologized for hurting me. I mean, once he says that, you can't hold a grudge, right?
Brady: He's a jerk. He's a total jerk.
Stephanie: Yeah, well, and I'm an idiot. I knew about his reputation before all this started. I just... thought what we had was different. I just thought I knew the real Philip.
Brady: Well, maybe you did, and it scared him.
Stephanie: Maybe you were right the first time, and he is a jerk. I'm gonna go, all right? I'll see you around, okay?
Brady: Wow, Philip, you screwed up big time.
[Rattling]
Nicole: Cut to the chase, Philip. What do you want, money, huh? Stop it. Well, I won't have any until I get married, so it behooves you to keep your mouth shut.
Philip: I don't need any money. But there is something.
Nicole: There always is.
Philip: You see, E.J. Has been a bit of a problem in Titan lately.
Nicole: Did he outfox you already?
Philip: No, no, no. He did not do that. But there is a small situation, and you, Nicole, are gonna help make it go away.
Chloe: [Crying] Oh, God. [Sobbing] God, please. Don't punish Lucas, okay? Please, if you bring him back to life, I promise I will be the wife that he needs, the mother that Allie needs, and I swear -- I swear I'll give up Daniel. I'll do whatever you want if you just bring him back to life. Please. [Sobbing] Oh, God. Please bring him back. [Sobbing] Bring him back.
[Footsteps approach]
Lucas: Chloe.
Daniel: She's not picking up. I got to get over there.
Maggie: I'll go with you because if Lucas is there, I can get him home.
Daniel: Trust me, I can handle getting rid of Lucas.
Maggie: You know, maybe if you and Chloe had been honest, it wouldn't have come to this.
Daniel: You know, what about this -- we were waiting to make sure Kate was gonna be all right, and she is. We were planning to tell them as soon as I got out of here. But now... God knows what I'll find when I get home.
E.J.: What, you really think I'm gonna short-change you?
Melanie: No, I just don't want you to think I'm not careful about my money.
E.J.: Right. Point taken. Well, you look after yourself, kid.
Melanie: Yeah, it's like second nature to me.
E.J.: You know something -- you know before, when I told you about the, uh, big leagues?
Melanie: No, before, when you, um -- when you threatened me to make sure I did what you wanted.
E.J.: All right. That's fair. It was a threat. It's also, however, true. Philip is gonna be very upset when he sees this. My father is gonna be keeping a very close eye on things, and I don't want anything to happen to you.
Melanie: You know what I love -- and I mean love -- about men? They push you around and make sure you do what they want when they want it, or you're gonna be in big trouble. But then [Clears throat] Once you do it, they get all protective over you, like they're not so bad, after all. It's like, um... it's like leaving an extra $20 on the nightstand. You know what I mean?
E.J.: I think you're a little young to be that cynical.
Melanie: Aha. You said I was cynical, not wrong.
E.J.: Touché.
Melanie: I don't feel sorry for myself. I can't afford to. It's a man's world out there. I get that. My father taught that to me young and often. I accept it. Doesn't mean I have to like it. I think you know the way out. As for me, I'm gonna go upstairs, maybe change, think about buying a safe-deposit box. You think they come in pink, E.J.?
E.J.: [Sighs] Sydney, I'm not letting you out of the house until you're 40. Oh.
Brady: What the hell are you doing here?
E.J.: That's funny. Don't I usually ask you that question?
Nicole: I don't know what situation you're talking about.
Philip: I'll fill you in.
Nicole: And I don't interfere in E.J.'S business.
Philip: Right. You just sit by the fire and knit.
Nicole: I don't think I'll be able to help you, Philip.
Philip: Gee, I think you can. You always seemed to take an interest in my father's business dealings. You knew everything that was going on.
Nicole: I didn't love or trust your father the way I do E.J.
Philip: Well... think about this. What is your main motivation, Nicole... preserving that love and trust? What do you think's gonna happen to that love and trust if E.J. Finds out you're hiding something from him?
Nicole: I won't betray E.J. I can't.
Philip: You know, Nicole, it already seems that you have.
Chloe: Oh, my God!
Lucas: Are you all right?
Chloe: You're alive! You're alive. Oh, my God.
Lucas: [Coughing] I -- I don't know what happened.
Chloe: It's okay. I was praying, and God -- he must have heard me. You're gonna be okay, right?
Lucas: Are you okay?
Chloe: Yeah, yeah. Come here. Let's sit down. Let's sit down. Come on. No, Lucas! Come on. It's okay. Come on, baby. Come on.
Lucas: My knees -- my knees gave out.
Chloe: I know. I know. You're gonna be fine.
Lucas: I'm sorry. I'm sorry I was drunk.
Chloe: I know. Don't worry about it.
Lucas: I was drunk. It's my fault. I'm sorry.
Chloe: No, don't be sorry. It's not your fault. Nothing's your fault. Come on.
Daniel: What the hell happened?
Chloe: There was some explosion and I thought he was dead. Please, just make sure he's okay!
Daniel: Shh. Shh. Shh.
Chloe: Come on. Come on, hang in there.
Daniel: He's moving. He's gonna be all right.
[Sirens wailing in distance]
Daniel: It's all right. Lucas.
Lucas: What happened?
Daniel: He's gonna be okay.
Chloe: I know he is. Now.
Brady: Now, what is that supposed to mean?
E.J.: Well, I'm normally the one asking you what the hell you're doing in my house with my wife, with my daughter.
Brady: Oh. Are you jealous?
E.J.: I think Nicole has enough to handle right now without, uh...
Brady: Without, uh, a what?
E.J.: A reminder of her troubled past.
Brady: [Laughs] It's not just the accent. You're pompous by nature.
E.J.: Hmm. Well, whichever which way, I think it's about time you found yourself a new best friend.
Brady: You still didn't tell me what you were doing here, though.
E.J.: Well, that should be fairly obvious it's none of your business. May I?
Brady: Of course.
E.J.: Thank you.
[Knock on door]
Brady: Melanie. Melanie, are you here?
Melanie: Hey, Brady. What are you doing here?
Brady: Hi, I came to talk to you. I wanted to talk to you about the fuel project, actually.
Melanie: Well, I don't want to do that.
Brady: And then we can cover what E.J. Was doing here.
Melanie: Do you have a warrant?
Brady: Melanie, I know what went down with Philip. What I want to know is why.
Melanie: Well, you can ask him that. He's the one messing with people's heads.
Brady: What do you mean?
Melanie: And he's the one who's gonna pay for it.
Chloe: You're gonna be fine, honey, okay? Just hang in there.
Lucas: My head -- my head hurts so bad.
Chloe: I know. I know.
It's gonna hurt a lot worse when he sobers up. Doc, you coming with us?
Daniel: Yeah, I'll be there in a minute. Just hold off on any meds until we get the blood levels.
Must have got an early start to be this tanked by lunch.
Chloe: He wasn't breathing. I was sure that he was dead.
Daniel: I-I don't think you should go to the hospital.
Chloe: What?
Daniel: He, uh -- he knows about us.
Chloe: I-I know. He was screaming about it before...
Daniel: Shh. Shh. Shh. Hey, hey, hey. It's gonna be all right. You're gonna be all right. I'm gonna deal with it -- the fallout at the hospital.
Chloe: Oh, God. Kate.
Daniel: No, all of it. I'm gonna deal with all of it because you have been through enough. Maggie told me he knew.
Chloe: Oh, God.
Daniel: That he had been drinking, threatening to do God only knows what.
Chloe: I just hurt him so badly. I made him start drinking again.
Daniel: Shh. No. No, you didn't. Ohh. They need me down there. I want you to know. I love you. And our life together... I can't wait. Chloe. I can't wait.
Chloe: [Exhales deeply] I won't hide, not anymore.
Philip: Hey, let's get this done quick before E.J. Walks in. You need to convince me we have a deal.
Nicole: What do you want?
Philip: E.J. Has been poaching a project of mine, of Titan's. Um, he has an employee of mine helping him out.
Nicole: You're not talking about Melanie, are you?
Philip: Oh, you know about it.
Nicole: What does she have to do with all of this?
Philip: E.J., I'm afraid, has influenced Melanie to compromise our operation. If you can't get E.J. To back off, I will tell him everything I saw, everything I heard -- everything.
Nicole: I will do my best.
Philip: No. You will not just try. You will succeed. You will win. Or all of this... gone, baby, gone. Call me.
[Door slams]
Stephanie: Hey, Chelse, it's Steph. Um, hard to believe things are even worse than they were when we talked. Uh, call me when you get this. Bye.
Melanie: Um, Stephanie.
Stephanie: What?
Melanie: Nothing happened between me and Philip. I -- look, I said that because I was mad at you.
Stephanie: I may be stupid, Melanie, but I'm not blind.
Melanie: No, no, no. Stephanie, when you left, after he said all that stuff... nothing happened.
Stephanie: Why are you telling me this?
Melanie: Because I saw how sad you were when you came in.
Stephanie: Oh, so you do have a heart. Let's be BFFs, Melanie.
Melanie: You can hate me. That's fine. That's fine.
Stephanie: Glad to have your permission.
Daniel: Gas explosion. I want full blood work and a head C.T. Get him to room 3 stat.
Maggie: What happened? Oh, Daniel, my goodness. What did you do to him?
Daniel: He's gonna be -- he's gonna be okay.
Maggie: He was drunk, and you beat him up?
Daniel: No, no, no, no, no. It was an explosion. It was just an accident. Calm -- hey, hey. I thought we agreed that you would stay back.
Chloe: It's not right. I'm not hiding anymore.
Daniel: No, Chloe, there's nothing you can do.
Chloe: I am staying to make sure Lucas is all right, okay?
Daniel: Look, I think --
Chloe: I'm not leaving.
Daniel: Right. I'll check on Lucas.
Maggie: What happened? Daniel said it was an accident.
Chloe: It was. It was a heater in the building. There was an explosion.
Maggie: Are you all right?
Chloe: Yeah. I was in Daniel's apartment, and Lucas was in the hallway where the heater was, and...
Maggie: What?
Chloe: Well, when -- when I went to him, he wasn't breathing, and so I just started praying. I mean, I really prayed, and...
Maggie: I-I-I don't understand.
Chloe: I made this promise, but he can't keep me to that promise. He just -- he can't hold me to that promise.
Maggie: Chloe, who is he?
Nicole: No one can love you as much as I do, Sydney, no one. That's why I'm doing this for you and for your daddy. He's not gonna be too pleased with me for the next few days, but it's just stupid business compared to the rest of our lives.
E.J.: Well, you two seem to be having a very serious chat.
Nicole: Hi.
E.J.: Hi.
Nicole: Yeah, I was just telling her about men. How awful they are, you know? They're not quite like their daddy. They're more trouble than they're worth.
E.J.: Yeah. It's funny you should say that, actually. I was dealing with this girl today. It made me realize I'm terrified of this one growing up. Tell you something, young lady. I'm gonna put you away in a tower. You're never gonna see any boys.
Nicole: This girl -- she sounds horrible.
E.J.: Oh. No, I don't know about horrible. She's just in over her head.
Nicole: It isn't Melanie, is it?
E.J.: Yes, it is. Hello.
Nicole: Hi.
E.J.: [Smooches]
Nicole: [Growls] Oh, you seem, um, happy about something.
E.J.: Really? All right. I'll tell you. It stays between us, okay?
Nicole: Okay.
E.J.: I just absolutely, completely bested the Kiriakis family.
Nicole: You -- you don't think you made them angry.
E.J.: Angry? [Laughs] I think angry would be a rather crude understatement.
Nicole: Well, what -- E.J., Whatever it is, you have to take it back. Don't cross them. I'm begging you. Please.
Philip: Stephanie, hey, it's Philip. We really need to talk about today. It wasn't what it seemed. Hey. I was just calling you. Did you hear that?
Stephanie: Yeah, I did. And I also talked to Melanie.
Philip: Look, you know how she lies. That's what the problem is.
Stephanie: Actually, I don't think she was lying. She said that earlier, when you told me that you didn't want me anymore and that you wanted Melanie it was all this big show just so you can get the formula back from her.
Philip: Well, then she doesn't always lie. Look, I don't love her, and I definitely do not choose her over you.
Stephanie: So you had your fingers crossed, right? Didn't mean anything?
Philip: Something like that. Look, it might be hard for you to understand --
Stephanie: Actually, Philip, it's pretty straightforward, and that's why I'm here, to tell you bye.
Maggie: I don't understand.
Chloe: Neither do I. All I know is that --
Mrs. Horton.
Maggie: Yes!
Your nephew would like to see you.
Maggie: Oh, thank you. I'll be right there. Chloe, I -- I think you should sit down. You don't look well. Um, maybe you should see a doctor.
Chloe: Oh, is this really happening? How am I supposed to know if -- if you did what I asked?
Daniel: Chloe. It's the, uh -- it's the damndest thing I've ever seen.
Chloe: Is he okay?
Daniel: He's got a severe case of alcohol poisoning, but, um, he should get over that.
Chloe: What about the explosion? Is he burned?
Daniel: There's some cuts and bruises which could have happened when he fell down. They did a preliminary exam. It's like the explosion never even happened.
Chloe: What?
Daniel: I don't know. It's as close to a miracle as I've ever seen.
Dr. Jonas, Dr. Menardi needs to talk to you.
Daniel: Can -- okay. Okay. Um, I'll be right there. Well, like I said, I haven't seen anything like it.
Chloe: Well, there's my answer. Now I know what I have to do.
Philip: Goodbye?
Stephanie: Yeah. You know all that playacting you did in front of Melanie? It's not that you would just use your body like that. It's that you would sell your soul to close a business deal. But it didn't mean anything, right?
Philip: Not really. Nothing important.
Stephanie: See, that's the problem. It's like you can flip a switch and go on autopilot or something, and I can't --
Philip: I'm not asking you --
Stephanie: You didn't let me finish. I can't be with someone who can do that. Let me -- let me put it in your terms, Philip. It's a deal breaker.
Philip: Stephanie, I love you.
Stephanie: I know. That's what makes this all so damn sad.
E.J.: I-I'm sorry. I don't understand. What exactly is going on here?
Nicole: You need to let Titan win this one, E.J. Just let it go.
E.J.: Okay, firstly, where the hell is this coming from? And secondly, how is this any of your business?
Nicole: I'm not trying to interfere in your business.
E.J.: Nicole, that's exactly what you're doing.
Nicole: No, I'm just trying to protect our family. The Kiriakises -- this isn't just a business rival anymore. I mean, you're with me. You're their enemy. My baby is their enemy, okay? It's personal. It's horribly personal. And -- and if you cross them, they will retaliate.
E.J.: Sweetheart, listen, I'm not scared of Philip.
Nicole: Well, you should be. Because they can destroy us, and they will.
E.J.: Nicole, come here. Why are you so scared? What's going on, hmm?
Sami: You don't seem too thrilled about getting out of here, either. What's your problem?
Rafe: You.
Daniel: Well, there was a gas explosion outside of my apartment.
Kate: What the hell was he doing at your apartment?
Nicole: If you do not stop this fight with the Kiriakis family, there won't be any wedding!
