E.J.: What is the matter with you? I said the food is poison. Spit it out.
Sami: What are you talking about?
E.J.: Go after Rolf. I just saw Dr. Rolf leaving.
Lucas: What are you talking about?
E.J.: The guy who brought the tray in -- he works for Tony.
Sami: No, that's no possible! That guy is dead!
Lucas: Enough! Calm down! Officer, get in here! You, stay right here.
E.J.: I just saved your wife's life for the second time today, so that warrants a little bit of consideration, please.
Lucas: The only thing it warrants is your arrest. Arrest him right now. Only hospital personnel were supposed to come in here.
E.J.: Samantha, please, listen to me. Only I can help you. Do you understand that? Tell him, for your sake. For the sake of your child, tell him.
Bo: Yeah, just stay on top of it. All right. Thanks. How's she doing?
Hope: She's sleeping -- happily.
Bo: Well, that's one of us.
Hope: What are you talking about?
Bo: [Sighs] Shawn and Belle -- they're moving into Victor's place.
Hope: It's just temporary.
Bo: Well, I still don't like it.
Hope: Look, Victor's away, so it's just them and Philip. At least Belle's home again -- safe and sound. I wish I could say the same for –
Bo: Hope. Hope... Claire could still be alive. John swears she is. I mean, that life vest.
Hope: I'm not giving up. I just wish that my family could all be together, you know?
Bo: Yeah, I know, and we will be. We're due for some luck.
Hope: Tell me about it.
Bo: Speaking of which, look what I found in Sami and Lucas' car.
Hope: Oh, my gosh. I recognize the stationery.
Bo: Yeah.
Hope: This is it. This is the letter from Stefano's father. It's all in Italian, so I couldn't make out very much of it, but I got to show you -- look. See? It does. It mentions the Bradys. Do you see it right there?
Bo: Yeah, I see it. Do you think this could be a clue to find out why the DiMeras have been after the Bradys all these years?
Hope: It's possible, don't you think?
Bo: It's just a letter.
Hope: Come on. We have to start somewhere.
Bo: What's this "we," Kemo Sabe?
Hope: Why not "we"? What? Hey, we both work very well together, and we're both very good detectives. If this letter can help us figure what started the whole feud, then it might help us to end it.
Willow: Hey. Record time, Nick. It looks like you won't be doing time.
Nick: Real funny.
Willow: Don't worry. I'm gonna be your friend, and I'll prove it to you 'cause I've got proof, see?
Nick: What do you want?
Willow: Uh, cash, credit cards, debit cards. I've said it before.
Nick: No.
Willow: Fine. The next noise you'll be hearing is the slamming of your cell door, Nick.
Bo: So it's just you and me, huh?
Hope: Last I heard, we're the Bradys, and there's still the DiMeras.
Bo: And where would you start?
Hope: Well, first off, I would say we get this letter translated and see if there isn't a piece of the family history in here that we don't know about.
Bo: And if there is?
Hope: I say we do what we do best -- good old-fashioned detective work. What do you say, Brady -- you and me, hmm?
Bo: You and me.
Nick: You got a lot of nerve breaking into Maggie's house like that.
Willow: Me? Nerve?
Nick: I should have you arrested.
Willow: Oh, okay, great. Let's call the police, and we'll give them our dueling stories and see which one they believe. Are you feeling lucky tonight?
Nick: What the hell do you want from me, Willow?
Willow: I told you. I want cash, I want money, I want debit cards, okay? I need some new clothes 'cause I don't fit in mine. And I'm making a nursery for my baby, and so I'm gonna need a crib, some toys, and car seat.
Nick: You don't have a car.
Willow: Well, let's add that to the list.
Nick: I don't have that kind of money, and you know that.
Willow: Get it.
Nick: You get it. Why don't you talk to your good friend Philip? I'll bet he's got plenty of dirty cash lying around.
Willow: I don't have anything to hold over his head like I've got on you, Nicky.
Nick: You know something, Willow?
Willow: Yes, I do. I win.
Nick: You don't have a thing on me, and I'm not giving you one more dime.
E.J.: Samantha, you have to believe me.
Lucas: She's got to what, believe you? You're a lying sack, just like you've always been. You're a joke. Where'd you get the poison-food routine? A bond movie or something?
E.J.: Lucas, if your I.Q. were 10 points higher, you would be a hammer.
Lucas: A hammer?
Sami: Stop it.
Lucas: Are you working with Tony now? You guys are partners?
E.J.: I can't help you if I'm in jail. You understand that?
Sami: Lucas, maybe we should have the food tested. We could use it as evidence or something, and maybe E.J.'s telling the truth for the first time in his life. We have to find out.
E.J.: Thank you, Samantha. What have you got to lose, Lucas? If I'm wrong, you look like the hero again and I am cast as the town villain again.
Lucas: All right. Fine. You know what? We'll have the food tested. And once it comes back negative, then you can lock him up -- all right? -- Permanently.
Sami: Thank you, Lucas.
Lucas: Oh, yeah, you're welcome. I want him out of here right now.
Sami: You know what? Uh, just give me a second. I need to talk to him. I'll tell my dad. It's fine.
Lucas: If there's a problem, I'm right outside.
Sami: Thanks.
E.J.: Thank you.
Sami: You know what? If Tony is really trying to poison me, then I guess I should be thanking you.
E.J.: Don't. I have a long way to go before I can earn your trust.
Sami: I'm not gonna argue with that.
E.J.: Unfortunately, Samantha, we also can't argue with Tony. There's only one way that we can really fix this vendetta and save our lives before Tony takes them to sport.
Sami: Talk to Stefano.
E.J.: Look, I know you think it sounds idiotic, but every time that I try to talk to my father, Tony puts up some kind of roadblock. He stops me from getting there. But there has to be a way in. I know I can find some way of getting there.
Sami: Well, I'll be there with you.
E.J.: When I do -- when I get inside -- I'm sorry. What did you say?
Sami: I said I'm going with you.
E.J.: No. I'm sorry. Absolutely not.
Sami: E.J., this is my family, my baby, my future. I'm going with you.
Hope: So, what's the matter, Brady? Afraid you can't keep up with me?
Bo: [Chuckles] So, we get to play Nick and Nora again, huh?
Hope: I don't know who they are, but I was thinking more Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
Bo: Playing with machine guns?
Hope: Why not? I used to kick butt with the best of them, right? I used to be a cop. Remember I used to be a cop?
Bo: Is that with this is about -- getting back out there?
Hope: No. Brady, I know there is no job in the world more important, harder, or more rewarding than being a mom -- no job I love more -- but –
Bo: But?
Hope: But I just -- there's just so much more inside me, you know? I have so much more to give.
Bo: Don't I know it?
Hope: Then let's work together on this.
Bo: Okay... if you promise me one thing -- that when you get in trouble...
Hope: I'm not gonna get in trouble.
Bo: ...And if you need backup -- not that you would, because I'll always be there.
Hope: Of course.
Bo: But when you need backup...
Hope: Yeah?
Bo: ...You call me.
Hope: Who else would I call?
Bo: Right.
Hope: I would only call you -- nobody but you, Brady.
E.J.: No, okay? You're insane.
Sami: Well, I must be a little bit crazy. I'm talking to you.
E.J.: Samantha, look. I can take my own life into my hands by breaking into my father's house.
Sami: I'm responsible for my own life, and I've decided that I'm going with you.
E.J.: But it's just not your life you'll be risking, Samantha.
Sami: Stefano is the one who started this vendetta against my family, and I just want to know why.
E.J.: And I told you that I'll talk to him.
Sami: No offense, E.J., but I only trust myself to do this right. I will talk to Stefano. I mean, I'm the one potentially carrying his grandchild. I will not allow this child to be torn apart by our families. We have to end this.
E.J.: If Tony ends this, darling, we'll be dead.
Sami: Then we'll find someone to watch your back -- Lucas. He can watch your back. I can talk to Stefano.
E.J.: No. No. As much as I appreciate the offer -- from you, that is, not from your husband -- listen, it's gonna be hard enough for me to break into that house, get past state-of-the-art security systems on my own, without having to try and deal with you. It'll be impossible. You're pregnant. You're in hospital. You've barely recovered from Anthony's last attempt on your life, and you're not really listening to me, are you? Please.
Sami: Um, I think you're right. I think it is too dangerous for me to go into that mansion.
E.J.: Oh, thank God. She sees sense.
Sami: So, if we can't get in to see Stefano, then we just have to come up with a way to get him out.
Nick: I'm not joking, Willow.
Willow: I know, and that's what make it funnier, Nick, because you're the joke. But, hey, good job trying. So, give me the cash and credit cards, or I will call your favorite police station. I have 'em on speed dial. Hand me your wallet.
Nick: Or what?
Willow: Oh. Violence, Nicky. Very surprised.
Nick: I'm all over it. Give me the hairbrush.
Willow: Or what? You're gonna slap my hand again? Call me a name? Give me a break.
Nick: I'm warning you. I am done being pushed around.
Willow: Oh, Nick, you love being pushed around. Lots of men do. That's why Chelsea sent you here.
Nick: Chelsea has nothing to do with this. This is between you and me, and I'm done, so give me the hairbrush.
Willow: Or what? What are you gonna do? Force me?
Bo: Okay. That's it.
Hope: What are you talking about? Get over here, Brady.
Bo: You know what this is?
Hope: What?
Bo: What if --
Hope: What if?
Bo: We could get grounded.
Hope: Grounded?
Bo: If ma came out of the kitchen and saw us, what then?
Hope: What then is you might end up giving your mom a few ideas. And your dad -- he may thank us.
Bo: Ideas? At their age?
Hope: Never too old. You're scaring me, Brady.
Bo: You keep on saying that, like, for the next 40, 50 years.
Hope: How about 80?
Bo: Oh, yeah, that, too.
Doug: Where is our welcoming committee?
Hope: Oh, my gosh. Daddy!
Doug: Hey.
Julie: Hugs.
Hope: Oh, Dad!
Julie: Oh, darling.
Hope: Oh, my goodness. It's so good to see you.
Bo: You look great.
Hope: Beautiful as always. Seriously, you look like a queen. Julie, I missed you so much.
Julie: Oh, love. Keep those compliments coming, and Dolly'll never go away again.
Hope: Do you promise that? Promise me.
Bo: When did you get back?
Doug: An hour or so ago. Figured we'd surprise everybody.
Julie: There. That'll hold me for now. Where's the baby?
Hope: Oh, she's right over there.
Doug: Ooh, that baby is all Julie talked about -- all the way across -- from Crete all the way here.
Bo: Crete? Man, you guys are travelers.
Doug: Well, it keeps you know who off the streets.
Bo: Oh, yeah.
Julie: Hi, darling. You beauty. You little beauty. Do you like that? You have wonderful, magical eyes. You do. Your eyes, Hope.
Hope: And daddy's voice. You should hear her sing. I think he will.
Doug: Oh, Ciara. Oh, just look at you. You are so beautiful. You are gonna have all the little boys at your feet the first day of preschool, I guarantee you.
Bo: So, are you guys just passing through, or what?
Julie: No, we thought this time we'd stay awhile.
Doug: Yes. Alice has lots of room, right?
Julie: Oh, and Grandma has finally promised to teach me the you-know-what recipe.
Hope: You're kidding me.
Doug: No, no. Julie's doughnuts will be coming soon to a theater near you.
Julie: Darling, you have the most remarkable great-grandmother, yes. Her name is Alice, and you, sweet pea, are going to be just as remarkable as she. Yes.
Bo: Hey, why don't you guys make yourself comfortable. I'll get a pitcher, okay?
Julie: Oh, can I just have iced tea?
Bo: Iced tea -- something nonalcoholic coming right up.
Julie: Thank you. Hello, sweetie.
Hope: It's so good to see the both of you. I just can't tell you how much.
Doug: Okay, what is all this? Princess? Come on. What is it? Tell your daddy what's wrong.
E.J.: My father is in an oxygen tent. It's not like he can just stroll out and join us for tea.
Sami: He doesn't have to stroll anywhere. They're gonna bring him out after you call.
E.J.: Who will? What call?
Sami: 911. You call. Say you're Stefano. Say you've had a heart attack or something and that you need an ambulance.
E.J.: Tony's never gonna let them in.
Sami: He won't have a choice. The police will be there to make sure that all legal procedures are followed. And then as soon as they see Stefano, they're gonna rush him immediately to the hospital. Anyone who tries to stop them...
E.J.: Will be arrested. You know, this just might work.
Sami: When your father's a cop, you pick up a thing or two.
E.J.: Okay. So, they bring Stefano into the emergency room, and then we can talk to him. My God, Samantha, you are a phenomenon.
Sami: I just have to figure out how to explain it to Lucas.
E.J.: I wouldn't worry about that. He's not exactly the sharpest tool in the box.
Sami: Stop it right now. That is my husband you're talking about.
E.J.: I'm sorry. I just couldn't resist.
Sami: All right. Let's focus on how we're gonna get past that guard out there. But once we do that, I'm sure it'll work.
Lucas: You're sure what'll work?
Willow: Come on, Nick. How badly do you want it?
Nick: You're making a big mistake.
Willow: No, you made the mistake when you stole the hairbrush from the lab. Come on, dog. You're gonna have to be faster than that.
Nick: At least my brother wasn't so disgusted by me that he walked out. At least I'm not you.
Willow: 'Cause if you were me, you'd have this brush.
Nick: Give it to me! Give it to me!
Willow: Never!
Nick: Give me the brush!
Julie: Darling.
Hope: I'm fine, really. It's just -- it's nothing. It's -- I don't know. I guess it's...seeing you both home, feeling so happy... then thinking about Claire missing.
Doug: Ah. Hey, we're just the first wave. You'll see, princess. Claire will be home soon.
Hope: I missed you both so much. [Sniffles]
Julie: Well, world travel -- there is nothing like it, except missing the home you love and the people you love most in the world. A big price to pay.
Hope: Yeah.
Doug: And we're finished paying it. We ran out of continents.
Hope: I'm sorry. What about John and Marlena? Do they know you're home? I'll tell them. I can't wait to tell them.
Julie: I can't wait to see them. Grandma told us that John is better. Is that true?
Hope: It's a miracle. Wait till you see him.
Bo: Hey, you guys staying, or what?
Julie: Yes.
Bo: Have a seat.
Hope: Daddy, please sit down. Julie.
Doug: Yes.
Bo: It's okay. I can move it.
Doug: Well, you know, Julie -- always on the run, 28 hours a day. Can't keep up with her.
Julie: Yes, you can. You know, I leave this man alone for two minutes anywhere in the world. He goes off. He bursts into song, always draws a crowd.
Doug: Ta-da!
Bo: That reminds me -- you singing at the club, that signature song of yours.
Julie: "The look of love."
Doug: Yeah. Well, I sang that song almost every night all those years at that wonderful club on the lake.
Bo: Hey, that building's still there.
Julie: It was so lovely back then. Sparkling, romantic. Almost perfect.
Doug: Excuse me?
Julie: Well, remember the view from the north windows. You could see the DiMera mansion hulking over us. It always gave me the shivers.
Doug: Especially after we stumbled into that tunnel, you know, that ran from the wine cellar over to the DiMera house.
Hope: That's right. I completely forgot about that.
Julie: I wish I could forget.
Doug: I can't forget what we found in that secret room... how we felt opening that door... taking our first steps inside the secret room.
Lucas: Somebody, answer me. What are you so sure is gonna work, huh?
E.J.: The distraction, Lucas, that we're planning -- the two of us. Now, listen. While you're busy... I'm going to take Samantha --
Lucas: I've had enough. Sami, what's really going on?
Sami: I'm trying to find a way to end this ridiculous family feud once and for all.
Lucas: We can't end this family feud. He's the whole reason you're in trouble right now. He's the whole reason you have a family feud.
Sami: Well, we can't end it unless we talk to someone, talk to the other side.
Lucas: He doesn't want to end anything.
E.J.: Lucas, wake up, okay? This has gone on for long enough. Do you not think it's about time that we had some kind of discussion with my father?
Lucas: With your father? You're gonna take this cease-fire agreement to his father? Why don't you just eat the poison food? You'd be better off. No way you're taking my wife to your father. You got that?
Sami: We have to do something.
Lucas: Wait a minute. "We"? When is it "we"? You and your rapist here "we"? Come on. You know we can't reason with a DiMera.
E.J.: If anybody is being unreasonable --
Sami: Stop it. It's --
Lucas: I had enough of this. You want a bed next to her? You want to stay in the hospital, too? I can arrange that. I'm not gonna let you rule my wife. I'm not gonna let you steal her again. It's not gonna happen. Now, get out of here.
E.J.: Feel better.
Lucas: She will feel better as soon as you get out of here. You never come around here anymore.
Sami: Lucas, please. It's not about --
Lucas: I mean it. Don't do this. Don't make this mistake. You got a family that cares about you, a husband that loves you, and will. Don't do this.
Sami: Okay.
Lucas: Okay, what?
Sami: Okay, I promise.
Lucas: Promise me again.
Sami: I promise I won't -- I promise.
Lucas: Good.
Sami: Feel better.
Lucas: Almost. Not yet. I'm getting there.
Sami: Lucas, this is not about E.J., all right? So let's just forget about him. Can we just put it behind us, and you and I -- we can just -- just relax, get some rest tonight? Maybe go check on Will, make sure he's gonna eat a healthy dinner, and check his homework. And we can both just get this day over with, put it behind us, and move on. What do you say?
Nick: Give to me, Willow.
Willow: No! Give me the hairbrush! I'm gonna kill you! Nick, let go!
Nick: All right. You happy? You wanted a fight. You got it. Just stay the hell out of my life -- okay? -- Starting tonight. You don't know me, and I don't know you. Just consider me dead.
[Breathing heavily] W-Willow? Answer me, Willow! If you're hurt, just say so. I'll call someone. Willow, stop screwing around, okay? It's not funny. Willow.
Hope: You never told me that story. What was in the secret room?
Doug: Don't ask.
Julie: Too late. She already did.
Doug: [Exhales deeply] It happened a long time ago, princess -- long, long ago. When Julie and I were in that secret room, we found an aerial map of Salem, along with family trees of both the Hortons and the Bradys. It was all very disturbing, but we couldn't do anything about it because no crime had been committed.
Julie: I still get nightmares just imagining the DiMeras poring over those records of the Bradys and the Hortons.
Bo: Speaking of nightmares, guess who else has moved back to town?
Hope: Someone managed to spring Tony.
Doug: What? How?
Bo: The details are still a little sketchy, but we think he's hiding the old man up at the house, and word is he's dying.
Doug: Stefano meeting his maker? I'll drink to that.
Julie: Doug!
Doug: But you're all thinking it. I mean, after what all the DiMeras have done.
Hope: But you know what? After all these years, we have no idea what started the feud.
Doug: It's a good question. Not a clue.
Julie: Don't look at me.
Hope: Hmm.
Doug: All I know is that they've been out gunning for the Bradys for I can't remember how long.
Hope: You know what, daddy? I think it's time someone found out. Finally we have a place to start. Well, maybe. Bo and I are gonna investigate.
Julie: Well, good for you, but investigate what?
Hope: This letter. This letter right here. Sami and Lucas found it in New Orleans in one of the walls at Maison Blanche.
Doug: Maison Blanche. I remember that. Yes. And, so, tell us, what does it say?
Hope: I'm not really sure. It's all in Italian. It needs to be translated.
Julie: Well, I know Italian. Let me have a look at it.
Lucas: I just got off the phone with Will. He's got a big test tomorrow, so he's gonna stay home and study. I'm gonna stay here with you all night and make sure everything's okay.
Sami: Wait a second. No. You have to be with Will. What if Tony comes after him? And you said Will has a test. You have to make sure he has a good dinner and a good breakfast tomorrow before his test. I would make him oatmeal -- something substantial.
Lucas: Just calm down for me.
Sami: I'm worried about Will.
Lucas: And I'm worried about you.
Sami: I have an armed guard at the door.
Lucas: An armed guard who let that Dr. Rolf stroll right in.
Sami: He's obviously not gonna make that mistake again, is he? He has my dad to answer to. But Will -- he's in our apartment. He's all by himself, with Tony out there. He could do anything. I'm not gonna be able to sleep tonight thinking about that.
Lucas: Calm down for me. I'll go home. I'll help him study. Then I'm coming back. First thing in the morning, I'm gonna pick you up, as soon as those test results are in.
Sami: Okay. You're gonna make sure will has his breakfast first, right?
Lucas: Yes, I will. I know the drill. I'm also gonna tell that guard not to let E.J. anywhere near you. I'm not gonna let that happen again.
Sami: We don't need to worry about E.J.
Lucas: Yes, we do. No more visitors, okay? You promise me? No more visitors tonight.
Nick: Give it up, Willow. If you're trying to punish me, it's not working, okay? Willow. Willow? Okay. It's okay. You just -- you just hit your head -- that's all. That's what's going on. Just stop screwing around, okay? Please don't do this! Don't do this to me, Willow! Come on. Oh, God. Okay. Hello, this is -- this is an emergency. I need help right away. There was an accident. It was an accident. She -- she fell. She -- she -- she's... uh, a half a mile down past -- past the parking lot. Please come quick. Big Lake Beach. Please hurry! Okay. Come on, Willow. Stay with me. Come on, Willow! Please! Please, Willow! Don't do this! I tried to help you! You know I tried to help you! Why are you doing this to me?! Please don't die, Willow! [Crying]
Hope: I didn't know you spoke Italian.
Doug: After all the times we've been to Rome? Hey, the Pope comes out on his balcony, and he waves hello to the plane every time we fly in.
Julie: Not quite, but I have had to write to many embassies and hotels through the years. Discovered the best way not to have something lost in translation is to speak the language. So I can order a hotel suite in 17 languages.
Doug: Almost.
Julie: This is standard Italian, Genoese idiomatics. And it's written by a man named Santo DiMera.
Hope: Well, that -- that's Stefano's father.
Julie: Okay. I think it's written to Stefano, because it begins "my dearest son." "I am at the end of my days, on the...bed of my last breath. But there must be no sorrow, no mourning. All I have planted is yours for the harvest. My secrets are yours... all I am, all I own... with my blessing and God's."
Doug: Well, at least dad knew that those were two separate things.
Julie: "I leave the earth, certain my love of wine, music, and justice are part of your deepest heart, Fano. But deep in my deepest heart, I held -- I held a black diamond from you -- sharp, hard, and cold. Never once spoken of, never shared over these -- over these many years. Long ago, there was a woman. Outside and beyond the vows made to your mother, a woman I loved as I never again loved another. I share this now, knowing, my son, you will understand, as we are both driven men with great appetites." Well, the old guy was a real satyr, huh?
Doug: Yeah. Family trait.
Julie: [Sighs] But to write to your son on your deathbed, to confess that you've been untrue to his mother? I mean, that's so, so...
Doug: European?
Lucas: You gonna promise me?
Sami: Look, I don't want to see E.J. anymore. I hate him. I think he's slimy and pathetic, believe me.
Lucas: Just calm down, okay? I'll take care of it.
Sami: Believe me, I have seen enough of E.J. today. I have.
Lucas: I've seen enough of that guy to last me my whole lifetime. So just shake it off, try to rest, close your eyes, and I'm gonna go talk to the guard right now, okay?
Sami: Hey, you can't say good night to me without giving me a kiss. We're still newlyweds, right?
Lucas: That's right. We are. You got it. You don't have to convince me.
Sami: Okay, well, do it, then. Mmm. Again.
Lucas: Yeah? Mmm. Honey. Honey. Ooh. You're giving me that tingle feeling again. Stop. I'm gonna have to climb into bed with you.
Sami: Well, once I'm released from this hospital, all bets are off.
Lucas: Yeah? That's a deal. I'll take you up on that later.
Sami: Please tell will I miss him, and give him a hug and a kiss for me.
Lucas: I will.
Sami: Good night.
Lucas: All right. Sleep good. All right, listen to me. I don't want any more slipups, okay? I don't want anyone going in that room. I don't want her leaving that room, either. Something's not right. She's acting weird. And if that British bozo shows up, get him out of here. I don't want him anywhere near the room. If he shows up, you can arrest him. In fact, go ahead and shoot the guy, okay? If you do that, I'll give you a medal.
Officer: Yes, sir, Mr. Roberts.
Lucas: Thanks.
E.J.: Good evening, officer. If you'll excuse me.
Officer: Hey, excuse yourself, Wells. I promise you -- this time you're gonna be arrested and charged and booked.
Nick: What did I do? Chelsea, why did I listen to you? You should have just told the truth. I never should have touched it. I know that I never should have touched it. It was evidence. I never should have touched it.
Officer: Come on, kid. Why did you kill her? We're gonna find out the truth in the end.
Nick: It was an accident. I'm not hiding anything.
Officer: What about that? Now, see, that looks like the evidence that was lost.
Nick: No, no. Let me explain. Let me explain this.
Officer: Get down. You're gonna see life without parole for this one.
Nick: I'm innocent. That's not my brush. I'm not a criminal.
Nick: I'm not a criminal. I'm not a criminal. It's not my brush. It's not my brush. It's not my brush.
Julie: Old Santo DiMera was just a libertine.
Hope: Julie, please, come on. You got to finish it. It's important.
Julie: You just want to hear what comes next.
Doug: Don't we all?
Hope: Please. Come on. Read.
Julie: Okay. "The name of the woman who owns my heart, body, and soul -- the most... the most pulchritudinous creature I have ever seen --"
Bo: Pulchritudi-what?
Doug: 'Tudinous, Bo. "Pulchritudinous." It means "beautiful."
Julie: It means...
Hope: Oh!
Doug: As in my beautiful wife. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Julie: Oh, sweetie.
Hope: Daddy!
Julie: I can't concentrate.
Bo: Hello?
Doug: My poor woman -- just loved to distraction.
Julie: Excuse me. Excuse us.
Hope: Read, please.
Julie: Where was I? "My Colleen was the rarest of women, the sun to my darkness. Her smile, beyond measure. My joy, my life. But she was taken from me, and in all the years since, not a moment, awake or asleep, has been free of that emptiness, that grief, that loss. And now here with the final few beats of my heart, my dear son, my pride, I beg you, shoulder my burden and take my revenge. Find those who are responsible for stealing Colleen away from me. Find them and torment them -- mother and daughter and father and son, generation upon generation. Find them and torment them as they have tormented me. Terms of our vendetta here follow. Know the name of the family I curse for all time is --"
Bo: Brady.
Julie: Well, that looks like "Brady."
Bo: Yeah.
Julie: "Their land is America, and you will find many gath--" yes -- "many gathered in one little village called --"
Doug: Salem.
Julie: "My son, seek them out, make them pay dearly for what they did to your papa."
E.J.: Okay, and I appreciate that, but you're not listening to me. Mrs. Roberts herself assured you that I was allowed in the room. [Cellphone ringing] Sorry. Would you excuse me for a moment? Lucas. Don't tell me you have the results of the tests already.
Sami: It's not Lucas. I had to steal his phone. Where are you, E.J.?
E.J.: I'm outside in the hallway, where your guard is acutely on guard. He won't let me in.
Sami: Okay. Then I'll just come out. I mean, he can't stop me from leaving.
E.J.: No. Don't. The moment you walk out that door, he's going to call your father, he's going to call Lucas.
Sami: Then you'll just have to distract him.
E.J.: How?
Sami: Oh, come on, E.J. You are a very talented liar. I have all the confidence in the world that you can think of some way.
E.J.: Thank you, but -- Samantha? Officer, I would, uh, I just -- I think I should apologize. It was certainly not my intention to barge into the room. You're just doing your job, and, uh, I certainly respect that. I just want you to understand that, uh, I don't mean any disrespect to you -- to you as a police officer. I'll be on my way. Thank you. Oh! Sorry. It's okay. It's okay. Oh!
Officer: Somebody -- somebody over here! We need a doctor!
E.J.: Uhh! It's okay. I'm at the hospital, Room 210.
Officer: We got a situation here.
E.J.: It's okay.
Nurse: Oh! Oh! Get anything? Anything? Nonresponsive. No pulse. It's all we can do, then.
Nick: What? I'm sorry.
Officer: Oh, God. Is she a friend of yours?
Nick: No. She's -- she's p-pregnant.
Officer: So, you must be the father, huh?
Nick: No. I'm -- Shawn -- Shawn Brady.
Officer: You mean Detective Bo Brady's son?
Nick: Yeah. I can't wait to tell him about this.
Officer: You're gonna have to come down to the station now.
Nick: It was -- it was an accident. She just fell.
Officer: That may be the case, but we got a dead girl out here on an empty beach. Carrying Bo Brady's grandchild. And signs of a struggle. It sure looks to me like it was more than an accident, don't you think?
Sami: If you won't focus, I will do this myself.
Shawn: No good can come from opening graves.
Roman: I don't think Nick here is quite as honest as you think he is.
Hope: We need to start at the very beginning.
Doug: Find out who Colleen was, how she and Santo DiMera got together.
Hope: What could have happened back then that led to so much bloodshed?
