Shawn D.: Actually, I already grabbed a bite to eat with my dad at the hospital, but I'll keep you company.

Willow: How are your aunt and uncle doing?

Shawn D.: The same. I had to get out of there for a little while.

Willow: How's your dad?

Shawn D.: We had a good talk. He actually offered to call Max and try to get my job back.

Willow: That's great!

Shawn D.: Yeah, we'll see. It's not exactly a done deal.

Frankie: Bo called and said that they gave Kayla and Steve the experimental medication.

Max: Yeah, and?

Frankie: Now we just have to sit back and see if it works.

Max: Could you pass me the 7/8 socket over there?

Frankie: 7/8.

Max: It's a good thing you didn't leave town. It gave you a chance to call up your guy at the FDA, get things rolling, you know?

Frankie: Well, even if I had, I'd only be a phone call away.

Max: Frankie, yeah, but this is home, man.

Frankie: No, it's not. I'm going back to D.C.

Max: What? I thought you came into town to take care of your little brother.

Frankie: Take it easy, Turbo. You'll do just fine without me.

Max: Mom and pop are gonna be so upset about this.

Frankie: I already talked to pop. Besides, I'm not going anywhere until Kayla gets better.

Max: You know, I'd like five minutes alone with the guy who did that to them and almost got me and Stephanie killed.

Mimi: Are the police any closer to catching whoever it is?

Max: I sure as hell hope so before he hurts anybody else I care about.

E.J.: Where's your sense of civic responsibility, eh, Patrick? Why don't you pick that up and throw it away, clean up the streets?

Patrick: If I wanted to clean up the streets of Salem, I'd start with you.

E.J.: Careful. You don't want to bite the hand that feeds you, Patrick.

Patrick: I thought we weren't supposed to meet in person. Why am I here?

E.J.: I thought you might like to know something. The police are on to us.

Bo: What the hell is going on? Either this drug is working or it's not.

Caroline: Well, they don't usually use the drug, you know, for biotoxin exposure, so I think they're just being careful.

Billie: Any change?

Bo: No, no, not really. Billie was your errand?

Hope: It took some convincing, but I felt that Steve needed her here.

Bo: Okay.

Billie: How are you two holding up?

Caroline: All right.

Shawn: As well as can be expected.

Caroline: I wish you'd arrived to see Kayla and Steve conscious.

Billie: So do I.

Bo: Hey, doc. Any news?

Dr. Myers: The drug seems to be having some positive effect.

Bo: Oh, good.

Dr. Myers: Both Steve and Kayla are breathing more easily. Their fevers are down, and they're responding to stimuli.

Caroline: Oh, thank God.

Dr. Myers: But that doesn't mean they've beaten this. They're still unconscious. It could go either way.

Billie: I think I know which way that is.

Steve: [Breathing heavily]

Caroline: Steve!

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of our Lives.

Patrick: What are we gonna do about the cops?

E.J.: We're gonna keep calm and keep our heads.

Patrick: How'd you find out they were onto us?

E.J.: Bo Brady showed up at Sami's apartment. He was asking some questions about certain fingerprints on an envelope, amongst other things.

Patrick: I knew he would be trouble. Now what?

E.J.: I'll be in touch -- not in person anymore. We'll communicate through a courier. You'll receive my messages in an envelope. If you have anything to say, write it down, reseal it, send it back to me. You understand?

Patrick: Yeah, who is this courier?

E.J.: You let me worry about that.

Patrick: It's got to be someone we can trust with our lives.

Shawn D.: Just because my dad said he's gonna talk to Max, that doesn't mean he's gonna give me my job back. I really pissed him off.

Willow: Max is family, and he knows you're the best mechanic he ever had.. He'll give you another shot.

Shawn D.: I hope so.

Willow: Well, how about we improve your odds?

Shawn D.: How?

Willow: Go to the garage and apologize to Max for the way you acted. Don't mention anything about the job. Just say you're sorry. And then when your dad talks to him, he'll already be prime to rehire you.

Shawn D.: I don't know about just dropping by.

Willow: I do. Come on. This is about your kid, right? I'll go with you for moral support.

Shawn D.: I don't --

Willow: Hey, I'm skipping my lunch for you, so let's go.

Shawn D.: All right.

Mimi: Max, if there's anything I can do for you or for your family, please let me know.

Max: Thank you. Actually, I'm really glad you stopped by right now.

Frankie: Why did you stop by?

Mimi: Because --

Max: 'Cause I'm working on her car, which is running perfectly, by the way.

Mimi: Thank you.

Max: The transmission was shot. Do you ever check the fluid?

Mimi: I'm not sure.

Max: That's a no. You need to remember to change your oil every 3,000 miles.

Mimi: I promise.

Max: Okay.

Mimi: You're my hero, Max.

Frankie: He just fixed your car.

Mimi: Well, he saved me from having to ride the bus.

Frankie: Whatever. Hey, is Abby in the office?

Max: Yeah.

Frankie: All right.

Mimi: Well, he hates me for what I did to Shawn, huh?

Max: No, that's not it. Ever since Jen broke his heart, he's had major trust issues with women in general. Just don't take it personally.

Frankie: Uh, Abby, would you please do me a favor and tell me, what the hell is wrong with my brother?

Abby: I don't think anything's wrong with him.

Frankie: Oh, yeah? Well, then, why is he so chummy with Mimi after what she's done to Shawn, especially now?

Abby: What do you mean?

Frankie: Well, come on. With everything that's going on right now, we Brady’s, we need to stick together more than ever.

Dr. Myers: I don't believe this.

Bo: Hey, Steve, can you hear me? Great, man. Do you know what happened to you? You went into this exam room to rescue Kayla. While you were in there, someone released this poisonous biotoxin through the vents. And you and Kay, you've been unconscious and quarantined ever since.

Steve: Dr. Myers?

Bo: They couldn't find a drug to help you out, so Frankie, he phoned a buddy of his at the FDA. They've got this experimental drug, and apparently it's working. We've all been here for you, man -- mom, pop, Hope, Roman. Frankie and Max were here and Shawn and Billie.

Abby: Frankie, look, Max would never turn his back on his family.

Frankie: Okay, so why is he taking Mimi's side against his own nephew?

Abby: Well, Shawn pretty much acted like a jerk.

Frankie: Uh-huh. You know, news flash -- my brother's not a saint.

Abby: I know a lot of people just think that he's some playboy race car driver out for himself, but he's not. He's -- he's a really caring person, and you should know that.

Frankie: You like my brother, don't you?

Abby: No, he's my friend and my boss.

Frankie: And?

Abby: And that's it.

Frankie: [Laughs] Uh-huh.

Mimi: Well, I may not be able to pay you until I get a second job.

Max: Isn't the Chez Rouge working out?

Mimi: It's okay when I don't have to work with Willow. But you know what? The tips aren't as good as I expected.

Max: So, are you looking for another gig?

Mimi: Yeah, I filled out a few applications for some office jobs, but no one's called me back yet. I mean, I guess only two seconds of experience in office accounting at Salem U. just isn't good enough. They probably just took my résumé and threw it in the old circular file. And waitressing just isn't cutting it, so I got to --

Max: Mimi, I have the perfect place for you to work. Here.

Patrick: [Sighs] It won't be easy to find a courier, especially since the police are onto us.

E.J.: You leave that to me. Your next part in this phase will be much more interesting. In fact, it could even be fun for you.

Patrick: Huh. As fun as making Sami think her son was kidnaped?

E.J.: [Chuckles] Your mission, Mr. Lockhart -- and you have no choice but to accept it -- is to use Bo's disgruntled daughter, Chelsea, to keep tabs on him.

Patrick: That's not a good idea.

E.J.: It's an excellent idea, okay? You live with her. She could be an invaluable source of information.

Patrick: Yeah, well, she's trouble -- almost as much as her father.

E.J.: I don't care. Get it done.

Kate: I'm very sorry I wasn't able to get by to visit you earlier.

Stephanie: Oh, I'm the one who should be apologizing. I know you and E.J.. lost a fortune when I wrecked the car. I am so sorry. I should have been able to maneuver away from Max's car when it exploded.

Kate: Absolutely not. It wasn't your responsibility. It was the fault of the person who's trying to hurt your family. And frankly, after what happened to you and what happened to Max, it's pretty obvious that your family's going to be in danger until the person's caught.

Stephanie: I know. It's really scary.

Kate: It is, and I've been thinking, Stephanie, that after you're released from the hospital, it would really be best if you stay out of the public eye.

Stephanie: You mean no racing?

Kate: Well, if you're racing, you're pretty much a target in a shooting gallery.

Stephanie: But racing is my life, okay? And besides, I have a contract with you and E.J.

Kate: Oh, honey, I don't want you to worry about that because today I brought by some papers, and they're going to release you from any contractual obligations.

Chelsea: So, in other words, you're dumping her?

Billie: Hey. Long time no see.

Dr. Myers: Excuse me. I'd like to talk to the family a moment.

Bo: Why don't we go out in the corridor?

Shawn: Good idea.

Nurse: Mr. Johnson, what are you doing?

Steve: Just give -- I'm okay. Just give me a minute. Give me a minute. Stephanie. Stephanie.

Billie: Push the button.

Steve: Stephanie! Is she safe?

Billie: Yes, yes, she is.

Steve: Oh, thank -- thank God. I can't -- I can't believe you're the first person I see when I wake up. Thank you.

Caroline: You worked a miracle for Steve, doctor. When do you expect Kayla to wake up?

Dr. Myers: I'm not sure.

Caroline: Well, they were exposed at the same time, and they were given the drug at the same time.

Dr. Myers: But they're not reacting the same way. Kayla's fever spiked again, and her breathing has become more labored.

Hope: But you said the medication was working for both of them.

Dr. Myers: It was at first. But now, though Steve seems to be recovering, Kayla appears to be worsening.

Bo: Appears to be or is?

Dr. Myers: It may not be her illness that is worsening. As you know, the drug we've given her hasn't been fully evaluated. There's little data on what to expect.

Hope: Why would it work for Steve and not for Kayla?

Dr. Myers: Sometimes individuals respond differently to medications.

Bo: You sure you gave her the right amount?

Dr. Myers: We gave them the same dose.

Shawn: Isn't there anything else you can do?

Dr. Myers: I'm considering increasing Kayla's dosage, but that will raise her risk of negative effects from the medications.

Shawn: I don't care. Do whatever you have to do to save our daughter.

Caroline: Yes, do it.

Kate: Chelsea, I don't know how many times I have to tell you that it's not polite to enter a room without knocking first.

Chelsea: Admit it, Grandma. You're dumping Stephanie because after totaling her car and almost killing herself in the Salem Grand Prix, you've decided that, that's not the type of P.R. your company wants to be associated with.

Kate: No, I don't want Stephanie driving because there's a lunatic trying to hurt her family. There has been one attempt on her life already, and I don't want to be responsible for another one. And since your father is a Brady, I think you should be keeping a low profile, as well.

Stephanie: You know what? You're right, Kate. I should stay out of the spotlight for a while. Besides, it's gonna take me some time to get back into racing shape, and I really want to spend a lot of time with my parents.

Kate: Well, good. Then it looks like this is really gonna be best for everyone. Now, to keep the lawyers happy, though, I'm going to need you to look these over and sign them.

Chelsea: You really do always win, don't you?

Kate: It's not about winning or losing. It's about what's right for Stephanie. I really think you've made the right decision here.

Stephanie: Yeah.

Kate: Oh, you seem tired, hmm?

Stephanie: I am.

Kate: I'll tell you what -- we're gonna get going, and we're gonna let you get a little rest.

Chelsea: Take care of yourself, coz.

Stephanie: Thanks.

Kate: You take care.

Stephanie: [Sighs]

Chelsea: I heard about her and Max. It was all I could do to keep myself from gloating. But I mean, I guess that's what you get for going after a guy that's already taken, right? Even though I guess we should be on the same side since she wants her parents back together and I want my parents back together.

Kate: I don't care. What the hell were you thinking in there, challenging me in front of Stephanie?

Chelsea: I'm sorry. I just --

Kate: You're sorry. I thought we were on the same side, Chelsea.

Chelsea: We are. Look, sometimes things pop out of my mouth before I've had a chance to think them through.

Kate: Well, you need to watch your mouth if you're going to get what you need from me or anyone else.

Chelsea: Okay.

Kate: And by the way, your parents are still upset about that little escapade you played trying to get them back together again.

Chelsea: Well, they'll get over it. And then I'll get what I want, just like you always do.

Kate: When I suggested that you use yourself to get your parents back together, I never suggested that you become a hooker to do it.

Chelsea: I didn't really. I mean, I just got arrested, which was the whole point -- to get my parents to work together to try to save me.

Kate: Yeah, well, I wish you had talked to me about that little idea because I would have told you it was a bad one and that Bo would never fall for it. And you're very lucky that, that undercover detective found you before you really got into trouble.

Chelsea: I don't care, okay? I will do anything to get my parents back together.

Kate: Chelsea, I know that I encouraged you in this, but I only did it because you were so damn determined. But I have to tell you the truth. I have tried absolutely everything -- and I mean everything -- to get them back together again, and I am finally accepting the fact that Bo and Billie are never going to be together as a couple. And you need to do the same thing.

Chelsea: You said that you would help me. You said that as long as I believed, I could get whatever I wanted.

Kate: That is not exactly what I said. And I know better than anyone that you don't always get what you want in this life.

Chelsea: Oh, no kidding. God, you know, I thought that if I couldn't trust or count on anybody or anything in my life, I could at least count on you.

Kate: You can count on me, and that's exactly why I'm talking to you like this. I love you. I love you, and you need to focus. And you need to get on with your life.

Chelsea: What life?

Kate: Chelsea --

Chelsea: No, please tell me because I would love to know. Let's see. My boyfriend broke up with me, and then I had to drop out of college so I could be on trial. And then I had to lose my job at Titan because I had to do this stupid community service. And let's not forget that my parents who raised me, they're dead. And everybody keeps telling me what a lousy job they've been doing. And my parents that are supposed to love me no matter what, they hate me.

Kate: Billie and Bo don't hate you.

Chelsea: And you do, too.

Kate: I love you.

Chelsea: Oh, please. You just reamed me out over something completely petty. You know what? At least the Benson’s never yelled at me.

Kate: Yes, and I think perhaps that was the problem.

Chelsea: You know what? Out of everybody in my life, I thought that you were the one person that understood me. But I guess I was wrong. I just -- I really don't know what to do. I just don't feel like I belong anywhere. And I changed my last name to Brady, but that's not gonna make them accept me. Nothing will unless... I have to get my parents to love each other or else -- I'm just afraid no one ever will love me.

Mimi: No, Max, I'm not taking any charity.

Max: It's not charity. Abby's swamped, and I need to hire another person to do part-time bookkeeping. I'd do it myself, but when it comes to that stuff, I'm clueless. And I'm terrified of what'll happen if I get audited.

Mimi: Well, if there's one thing my mother taught me, it's how to play with numbers.

Max: So is that a deal?

Mimi: Yeah, you've got yourself a new employee.

Max: Great, great, okay. But whatever your mom taught you, I kind of want my books to be legit.

Mimi: Well, now you're taking all the fun out of it.

Max: I'm serious.

Mimi: Well, I'm kidding. Now, about the benefits --

Frankie: Max! Hey, phone call. Steve's regained consciousness, okay? But Kayla -- she's getting worse. We got to go. Come on.

Max: Okay.

Billie: When I heard what happened to you, I was afraid I was gonna lose you before we ever had a chance --

Steve: You're not gonna lose me. You're not. Listen... but even if I don't make it --

Billie: Don't say that. Don't say that.

Steve: Listen... even if I don't make it, I got the chance right now to tell you how much you mean to me.

Billie: Nothing is going to go wrong.

Steve: You know... all those years I can't remember -- you're the only person who doesn't hate me for that. You know... you know how I feel about you, right?

Billie: I feel the same way, only I was afraid to say it because -- because you'd remember Kayla and you'd go back to her and I'd get my heart broken again. I want the Steve you are now, not the memory of who you used to be. And I'm gonna be here until you get better.

Max: So, the doctors don't have any idea what they're gonna do next?

Caroline: Kayla has come out of a coma before. She's been through many things, and she will survive this.

Shawn: You're right. We'll all just have to have faith.

Caroline: And keep praying.

Frankie: Has anyone told Stephanie the latest?

Hope: Actually, we were just on our way to see her. Want to come?

Frankie: Yeah.

Bo: Why don't you guys go ahead? I got to talk to Max for a second.

Max: What's up?

Bo: Well, I heard that you and my son had a little disagreement about Mimi and you fired him.

Max: Look, Mimi's my friend.

Bo: Yeah.

Max: Okay? And yes, she broke Shawn's heart, and he has every reason to be angry with her. But look, he crossed a line this time with her and with me. He acted like a total jerk, and this isn't the first time, Bo.

Bo: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know. It kind of runs in the family, as you know..

Max: Yeah.

Bo: I spoke to him, and apparently Belle blasted him pretty good, too -- said if he didn't get his act together that he could forget about being part of his daughter's life.

Max: Maybe that finally got his attention.

Bo: Yeah, I think it did. And he's determined to put his life back together. That's why I’m talking to you.

Max: You want me to give him his job back, don't you?

Bo: Yeah, not just for him, but for his daughter -- you know, so she can grow up knowing her father.

Abby: Here are the books. Good luck filling in the blanks because this is all I could find. Max is the nicest guy in the world, but when it comes to paperwork, he's really unorganized.

Mimi: But you like working for him.

Abby: Absolutely.

Mimi: After what I did, I didn't think anyone in Salem would ever talk to me again. I mean, I guess there are some people who won't, but out of the blue, someone I barely know steps in and actually believes in me. It makes me want to work harder and be a better person, you know?

[Laughter]

Abby: I think someone's here.

Willow: Maybe it would be better if I waited out here. For luck.

Shawn D.: Thanks.

Willow: Whatever Max says, just stay calm. And remember, this apology isn't for him. It's about getting to see your kid.

Shawn D.: Right.

Abby: Shawn, I thought you were a customer.

Shawn D.: Abby, is Max around?

Abby: No, your dad called. Aunt Kayla took a turn for the worse, so Max and Frankie went to the hospital.

Shawn D.: Oh, I got to get back. I got to see what's going on.

Abby: Do you want to leave Max a message?

Shawn D.: Yeah, sure. I need you to tell him that I feel really bad about what went down yesterday, and I want to apologize.

Abby: Don't tell him I told you, but he feels the same way.

Mimi: Hey, Abby, I can't figure out if these are...

Max: Shawn is a hell of a mechanic, but he does have a hell of a temper.

Bo: Yeah, yeah, that he does.

Max: Especially when it comes to Mimi.

Bo: Well, she did kind of kick his guts out.

Max: She made a mistake -- something that he should understand.

Bo: You're right. He should.

Max: Mm-hmm.

Bo: But like Mimi, he deserves a second chance, and he's your nephew. And like you said, he's a hell of a mechanic. So, I don't think him working things out with Mimi really should affect your giving him his job back.

Max: Well, actually, it kind of does.

Bo: Why?

Max: I hired Mimi part time as a bookkeeper. And there's no way I'm turning my garage into a war zone. So, if he wants his job back, Shawn has to promise that he will find a way to get along with her.

Bo: Fair enough.

Max: Okay. And if he can promise to do that, then I'll talk to him.

Bo: Cool. I owe you one.

Max: Well, let's go find out what's going on with Kayla, and then after that, I'll find Shawn, and we'll see if we can come to an agreement.

Bo: I'm sure you can 'cause he wants that job.

Max: Yeah.

Mimi: Hi.

Shawn D.: Abby, tell Max that I'll stop by again later when it's not so crowded.

Mimi: Shawn!

Shawn D.: See you around, Abby.

Mimi: Shawn! Is it going to kill you to act like a grown-up about all this?

Shawn D.: I came here to see Max, not my ex-wife. What are you doing hanging around here anyways?

Mimi: First of all, I'm not your ex-wife -- not yet, at least. And second of all, you better get used to finding me here because Max gave me a job.

Caroline: I don't think we should leave Stephanie.

Shawn: Frankie's with her.

Caroline: Well, she's so upset about the news.

Billie: What do you mean? Steve's gonna be okay.

Hope: What about Kayla?

Billie: I don't get it. If the drug worked for Steve, why wouldn't it work for Kayla?

Hope: Dr. Myers doesn't know. He doesn't know if she's going to make it.

Shawn D.: I don't believe this. Max fires me because of you. Now he hires you to work here? What the hell did you do to talk him into that?

Mimi: He offered me the job without me even asking.

Shawn D.: Oh, I bet he did.

Abby: Shawn, she's telling the truth. Max told me this morning that he wanted to hire a part-time bookkeeper. She just happened to check on her car at the right time.

Mimi: Yeah, if you had fixed it when you said you would, maybe I wouldn't have to work two jobs just to pay the repair bill.

Shawn D.: You know what, Abby? Watch your back. Don't ever think she's your friend. Don't ever think that you can trust her.

Willow: I heard yelling. Is everything all right?

Shawn D.: Yeah, once we get the hell out of here.

Mimi: Hey, Willow, if you really care about my husband -- if he isn't just another john -- then maybe you could tell him to stop acting like a total jackass!

Shawn D.: Damn it, Mimi.

Willow: Come on, Shawn. Let's get out of here. This isn't helping anyone..

Mimi: Ugh! My God!

Abby: You all right?

Mimi: Yeah, I just can't believe how much he hates me.

Chelsea: I know, Mrs. Gillespie. I talked to the hospital, and they said they didn't need me anymore this week. Yeah, you can call them. Okay. See you on Tuesday. [Telephone beeps]

Patrick: Still doing community service?

Chelsea: Yep, and at the rate I'm going, I'll be doing it till I'm 90.

Patrick: Yeah, well, it beats jail time.

Chelsea: I guess.

Patrick: Trust me. Sitting in a jail cell facing the death penalty because Bo Brady framed me for murder -- eh, forget it. I'm sorry.

Chelsea: Do you really think that my dad set you up?

Patrick: Look, I shouldn't drag you into this, okay?

Chelsea: You're not. I asked.

Patrick: Okay, then, yeah, I do think he set me up. He is determined to make me look bad in Hope's eyes, and he almost got away with it. If I could find some proof, Hope would be done with him for good.

Chelsea: Yeah, well, as much as I'd like to see that happen, my dad would never falsely arrest somebody. It doesn't matter how much he hated them. He's too honest.

Patrick: Right, sorry. I forgot you haven't known him that long.

Chelsea: What's that supposed to mean?

Patrick: You are more like your father than you realize. Look, I know you worship him, but you should know something. He's not as perfect as you think. And if you got to know him better, maybe spent some time with him, not only would it help you, but it would help him to be with your mom.

Chelsea: So you could be with Hope.

Patrick: We can work on this together, Chels.

Chelsea: Are you saying that you want me to spy on my own father?

Dr. Myers: Another 10 milligrams IV. Push.

Bo: God, let this have been the right decision.

Hope: Dear God, let this work.

Caroline: Oh, Stephanie. You shouldn't be here.

Stephanie: Has there been any change in mom's condition?

Shawn: They're upping her medication right now.

Stephanie: I thought this was supposed to be the miracle cure, but I don't see any miracles happening.

Hope: I do.

Stephanie: Dad! Dad!

Steve: Hey, hey, baby! Hey! Now, come on. Don't be upset. Look at me. Look, I'm getting better. Your mom will, too.

Stephanie: I just want you both back in my life. I need my mom and dad back.

Max: I told mom to tell me if there was any news. I wanted to stay, but there's just so much work here, and I'm the only mechanic, at least for now, anyway.

Abby: Are you thinking of hiring someone else?

Max: Well, Bo asked me to give Shawn his old job back. What?

Abby: Things got pretty interesting when you were at the hospital.

Max: What are you talking about?

Abby: Well, Shawn came by to apologize.

Max: I didn't think he had it in him.

Abby: Only, when he saw Mimi --

Mimi: Well, when he found out that you had given me a job, he totally lost it.

Max: Oh.

Mimi: Max, if you want to hire Shawn back and drop me, I understand.

Max: No, no. I told Bo that he was just out of control, and he swore that he'd learned his lesson. I guess not.

Mimi: Well, still --

Max: No, forget about it. Someone else can hire him. I'm through with him.

Mimi: Max, wait. Maybe Shawn has learned his lesson. He was probably just caught off guard by seeing me here. Give him his job back, please. I'll deal with it.

Shawn D.: Max is my uncle, damn it. Giving her a job after what she did to me is like a slap in the face.

Willow: Your dad's gonna talk to Max about rehiring you. Maybe he can convince him to fire Mimi.

Shawn D.: There's no way. She's got her hooks in him, just like she had them in me. He's not gonna fire her, and he's not gonna give me my job back. I just need to start looking for a new job and fast, if I want to see my daughter.

Willow: Well, who's that other race car driver -- the English one?

Shawn D.: E.J. Wells.

Willow: Yes. He's got cars. He probably needs a great mechanic.

Shawn D.: You're a genius, Willow.

Willow: No, I'm a survivor.

Kate: We are going to have to discuss Stephanie Johnson.

E.J.: Not right now, okay?

Kate: Oh, what's wrong?

E.J.: Nothing that I can't handle. I'm a very resourceful man.

Kate: I've noticed that.

[Cellphone rings]

E.J.: E.J. Wells.

Shawn D.: Hey, E.J., this is Shawn Brady. I hope I'm not interrupting you.

E.J.: Nothing important. What can I do for you?

Shawn D.: I guess there's no real easy way to say this, but I need a job.. And you know I'm a hell of a mechanic, and I was just hoping that maybe you'd have something for me?

E.J.: Yes, I might be able to. Let's talk.

Chelsea: You have a hell of a nerve asking me to spy on my own father, you know that?

Patrick: You've done a lot worse, don't you think?

Chelsea: I'm trying to build a relationship with my father, okay? Even if he'll always care about Shawn more than me.

Patrick: Does this mean you've given up on trying to get your parents back together?

Chelsea: No, not entirely.

Patrick: All right, then breaking up Bo and Hope is the first step.

Chelsea: Patrick, what good is it gonna do if my dad never talks to me again after finding out that I helped you do it?

Patrick: He never has to know where the information came from. Think "Mission: Impossible." Come on, Shawn could never pull it off.

Chelsea: You're right. He couldn’t. I'm sorry, Patrick, but I can't help you do it.

Patrick: All right, well, looks like it's Bo and Hope forever, huh?

Chelsea: Just because I said I won't help you spy on him doesn't mean I won't help you at all. I'm just gonna need to do it my own way.

Steve: Hey, hey, come on now. You're gonna get your parents back -- your mom and your dad -- both of us.

Stephanie: But Dr. Myers --

Steve: Hey, hey, hey. Doctors don't know anything. They said I wouldn't beat this. Look at me. I got up. I'm walking around. They said you wouldn't pull through, but you did. Your mom will, too.

Stephanie: How can you be so sure?

Steve: Well, because the big dude, he wouldn't have brought us all back together for nothing, right? Now, you go ask your grandma. She knows about these things. But you've got to believe.

Stephanie: I want to.

Steve: Okay, then we're halfway there, huh? Yeah. [Equipment beeping] [Flatlining]

Stephanie: Oh, my God!

Dr. Myers: She's seizing! Get a d-stick on her and another line. Increase the o2 to eight liters. B.P. 70 over 50! She's crashing. Code blue.

Dr. Myers: 200 joules. Clear.

Hope: Can't he see that Kayla needs a reason to hang on? I want you to talk to him.

Billie: Steve has become very important to me.

Marlena: Then you have every right to go after whatever makes you happy.

Kate: That's not what I want.

E.J.: What do you want?

Kate: You.

Marlena: You owe me a wedding, and I just can't go around marrying a dead guy.
