Max: Aah. Aah. Okay. Ow. Ow.
Stephanie: [Laughs]
Max: Oh, thanks a lot. Yeah, I'm here with a broken toe. I'm dying here, and you're laughing.
Dr. Berman: I don't think a broken toe is going to kill you, Max.
Max: You must have never had a broken toe, obviously, because this has got to be as painful as childbirth.
Dr. Berman: Don't ever say that to a woman in labor. She's liable to get up and kill you.
Max: Point noted. But at least she'll be able to walk the next day.
Stephanie: You know what? The only reason you're being so miserable about this is because you're embarrassed that it happened.
Max: What?
Stephanie: I beat Max in the time trial for the Salem Grand Prix, and so what does he do? He gets out of his car and kicks it like it's the car's fault.
Max: I had fuel injector problems.
Stephanie: I don't want to hear it. If this is what you do when I beat you in a time trial, what are you gonna do to yourself when I actually win the race?
Hope: Hey.
Bo: Oh, hey. Sit down. Want some coffee?
Hope: Yeah, I'd love some.
Bo: Cup of decaf, please.
Hope: You're working here now, Sandra?
Sandra: Yeah.
Hope: Nice to see you.
Sandra: Nice to see you.
Hope: Did you get John to his flight on time?
Bo: Yeah, as a matter of fact, he just called. He's in Trenton, but he hasn't gotten ahold of the local authorities yet.
Hope: Have the Trenton police been able to analyze the bloodstain they found in Marlena's hotel room?
Bo: We haven't heard the results.
Hope: You know, I just can't believe this. Just when Marlena's finally getting her life back, this happens. Does Belle know?
Bo: Uh, John left that up to us.
Hope: Why didn't he tell her?
Bo: He asked if we could do it, and I told him yeah.
Hope: Well, of course. What? What's that look?
Bo: We're kind of family now.
Hope: Okay, I'm not following.
Bo: I got news for you. Claire is Shawn's daughter.
Victor: Brady and Chloe send their regards.
Belle: Oh, so it was a good trip.
Victor: A little business, a little pleasure -- it was very productive. Now I'm looking forward to the Salem Grand Prix and Titan's sponsorship of Max Brady.
Philip: It's gonna be quite the event. We've been really playing up this rivalry between Max and Stephanie Johnson. It's gonna be cool, Dad.
Victor: You and Lucas have done a terrific job on the tie-ins.. Did you ever think you'd be part of a racing family?
Belle: No.
Victor: Neither did I. So, how's Max doing?
Philip: He's doing well. Time trials were today. I know he finished in the top five. I just haven't heard if he beat Stephanie. But either way, I'm not really worried about it..
Victor: Good. Well, now that the business is out of the way, I'd like to ask you a personal question.
Philip: Okay.
Victor: I understand a while back, you borrowed Max's car and wrecked it and escaped within an inch of your life.
Philip: That's true.
Victor: I thought that would have taught you a lesson. But apparently, you got yourself arrested for disorderly conduct.
Philip: Well, that's also true, but it's not as bad as it seems, Dad, I assure you.
Victor: Did you ever consider anger management? Philip, what if the newspapers got ahold of this? What if the investors got wind of it?
Philip: It's not going to happen again.
Victor: You're damn right it's not. Now, do you want to tell me exactly what happened to get yourself thrown into jail?
Shawn D.: Damn it.
Frankie: I hope this doesn't mean team Brady had a bad day. You all right?
Shawn D.: Yeah, I'm fine.
Frankie: What are you doing?
Shawn D.: Just replacing the nozzles on the fuel injector we ran today. We weren't getting the power we should have. I'm also double-checking the computer unit.
Frankie: Doesn't sound like Max had a very good day.
Shawn D.: He did fine -- top five.
Frankie: Well, that's great. Hey, what's the story behind this dent?
Shawn D.: I'll leave that to Max. He'll tell you all about it..
Frankie: Uh, we're not getting off to a very good start here. Maybe I should just go back to my office.
Shawn D.: I should warn you. It's only gonna get worse.
Frankie: What’s going on, Shawn?
Shawn D.: Look, what I'm about to ask you to do is gonna require all of your legal expertise, and it could get very ugly.
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of our Lives.
Chelsea: Hey, what's going on?
Nurse: We have a celebrity here today.
Chelsea: Oh, my gosh. Who?
Nurse: Max Brady.
Chelsea: Max Brady? Is he okay?
Nurse: Oh, just a broken toe. Hopefully it won't be much of a problem for the Salem Grand Prix. Although his girlfriend might not be too unhappy if it was.
Chelsea: His girlfriend?
Nurse: Stephanie Johnson -- the competition.
Dr. Berman: All right, Max, you're all set.
Max: Thanks.
Dr. Berman: Now, look, when you get home, I want you to elevate that leg, apply ice, and I'm gonna give you a prescription for some pain meds I want you to take, all right?
Max: Look, doc, do I have to wear a splint or a cast? Because I'm not gonna wear it.
Dr. Berman: I know. That's why I didn’t mention it. Here. Good luck to you in the Grand Prix. Good luck to you, young lady.
Stephanie: Thank you.
Max: Thanks, Dr. B. Thank you.
Stephanie: Hope you don't have trouble stepping on the gas.
Max: The only trouble I will have is pressing the break. And I find that actually to be to my advantage.
Stephanie: Way to put a positive spin on it.
Max: Well, it's true.
Stephanie: Then that means you don't have an excuse for losing to me.
Max: Aah. Ow! Forget it. I can't wear the shoe. Oh, I got it easy, huh?
Stephanie: Yes, poor you.
Max: I can't believe I let you get to me like that.
Stephanie: Well, get ready, Max, 'cause it's not over yet.
Bonnie: Hey, dumpling.
Mimi: What are you doing here? What's all that stuff?
Bonnie: All this stuff cost me a pretty penny, but it's going to help save your marriage to Shawn.
Mimi: Are these things for him or for me?
Bonnie: Well, they're for you and for Shawn use this just before he takes them off you. Check that out.
Mimi: Oh, my God. Where did you get all this?
Bonnie: Well, I went to the Lovely Lady Lingerie Shop this morning and bought every little thing I could find in your size. And this one is my personal favorite. Bought me one of these myself.
Mimi: Oh, that's more than I need to know, thank you.
Bonnie: You know, honey, I bought you enough ammo here to keep Shawn's mind off of Belle and Claire. And if this doesn't work, nothing will. Come on.
Bonnie: He doesn’t even remember having sex with her, and you know you can do better than that.
Mimi: I sure hope so. Look, Mother, I appreciate your, um...help, and these purchases are very sexy. Thank you. And I actually will probably use them, but I really don't need any help in that department because Shawn hasn't shown any less interest in me. In fact, last night was just as great as it's always been.
Bonnie: It was?
Mimi: Yes. You know what I'm really starting to think? That even though Shawn knows that Claire is his daughter now, my life with him isn't going to change one bit.... at least, I hope not.
Philip: Look, Dad, it was blown out of proportion. So you don’t need to worry about.
Victor: It was enough to get you thrown into jail. Now, what happened?
Philip: If you really want to know, I was with some buddies at this place, Dune. We were having beers, minding our own business. And these armies guys came up and said some things they shouldn't have said. The rest is history. [Claire cries]
Belle: I'm gonna go check on Claire.
Victor: Oh, let me. It's been a while since I spent any time with my granddaughter. If it gets any louder, it means she doesn't recognize her grandpa, and you might want to step in.
Belle: I think it'll be okay. She'll know you. Why did you lie to your dad? Philip, he's gonna have to know the truth sooner or later.
Philip: What truth? Claire has someone else's DNA? I'm still her father. End of story.
Frankie: All right, Shawn, what kind of case are we talking about?
Shawn D.: Custody case.
Frankie: I assume we're talking about the baby that you and Belle are having.
Shawn D.: Actually, I'm talking about the baby that Belle and I already have. So, will you help me?
Frankie: It depends.
Shawn D.: On what?
Frankie: Well, what kind of custody arrangement are you talking about?
Shawn D.: Look, I want to split custody with Belle and Philip, but I need to be named Claire's legal father to do that.
Frankie: Now I see why you say it could get ugly. Come on, Shawn. You know Philip. He's not gonna just sit back and let it happen. He's gonna put up one hell of a fight.
Shawn D.: Oh, I know. I'm anticipating that, which is why we are gonna have to put up an even bigger fight.
Max: You know, I'm swearing you to secrecy on this.
Stephanie: Hey, I won't tell if you won’t. I don't want anybody thinking that I whooped your butt because of some broken toe.
Max: Look, you can't tell anybody. This has to be between you and me and Shawn. If word gets out that I --
Chelsea: Too late. Secret's out.
Hope: So, Chelsea was innocent after all.
Bo: Mm-hmm.
Hope: That's a first.
Bo: Yeah, she just wanted Shawn to know the truth. That's why she put that file in his hospital room.
Hope: I thought Shawn said it was impossible for that to be true.
Bo: Yeah, that's what he thought.
Hope: So, now Shawn and Belle are going to have two children.
Bo: Uh-huh.
Hope: Does Philip know?
Bo: Yeah. He obviously was very upset. He grabbed Claire and took off with her.
Hope: He kidnapped her?
Bo: Oh, no, no, no. They went over to the hospital. He demanded to see the DNA results. He wound up being arrested for disorderly conduct.
Hope: My heart goes out to him.
Bo: Yeah.
Hope: I know exactly what he's feeling. We both do. We know firsthand what it's like --
Bo: What it's like to raise a child, love a child, find out it's someone else's.
Hope: Giving up J.T. -- I thought that would be the toughest thing to ever go through.
Bo: Then we found Zack.
Hope: And then we lost Zack. Shawn is, of course, going to want to be involved in raising Claire, and he should be. I just hope to God that he takes into consideration what Philip will be going through.
Shawn D.: I want to get the ball rolling on this right away if we can.
Frankie: All right, look, Shawn, I'm gonna talk to you as your uncle. Um... okay, you're Philip's best friend. Before I take you on as a client, I want you to think this through.
Shawn D.: I have, all right? That's why I need your help.
Frankie: Have you discussed this with any of the other parties?
Shawn D.: There's no use in discussing it with Philip. He's not thinking rationally right now. And even though I could talk to him, he's not gonna listen. Look, Frankie...
Frankie: Yeah.
Shawn D.: I'm sorry for hurting Philip, okay? But this is about my right as Claire's father.
Frankie: I agree. But I can't just rip Claire out of Philip's arms.
Shawn D.: Look, nobody is gonna stop me from being a father to my child.
Stephanie: Hi, Chelsea.
Max: How'd you know I was here?
Chelsea: There were two nurses talking about a celebrity race car driver that was brought in. Are you okay?
Max: Yeah, I'm fine. I just stubbed my toe, that's all.
Chelsea: Just stubbed your toe?
Stephanie: Yeah, Max just needs to put his toe on some ice, and he'll be just fine for the Salem Grand Prix. Are you going?
Chelsea: I don't know. Do I have a reason to?
Bo: We should get out of here. Sandra, can we have our check, please?
Sandra: Sure, I'll get it for you.
Hope: Can you believe our son, our firstborn, is gonna have two children?
Bo: No, I can’t. You know, it seems like just yesterday we were holding him in our arms and getting ready to sail around the world.
Hope: Well, I guess this is it, huh?
Kayla: Yeah.
Hope: You take care, all right?
Kayla: Yeah, you too. You take care of my little nephew, too, all right?
Hope: We're not gonna let him out of our sight.
Kayla: Bo... I know that you're gonna be traveling around the world and everything, but you're bound to be someplace where you can send a letter, right?
Bo: Okay, I get the hint. We'll write.
Kayla: And not just to mom and pop either.
Bo: No, we'll write to you. You be careful.
Kayla: You be careful. I don't want to read about you some paper somewhere.
Bo: Hey, what are you talking about, girl? You won't never find a better sailing vessel than this one right here.
Hope: Bo told me he was a good captain.
Kayla: I love you.
Bo: You too, babe. Now, come on, get out of here, will you?
Kayla: Okay.
Bo: Watch your step there.
Steve: All right, buddy.
Bo: Later.
Hope: Bye, Steve.
Bo: Oh, Steve, give me a hand with these lines, will you?
Steve: Yeah, dude. It'll be just like old times.
Hope: I don't know how I ever let you talk me into that, Brady. I thought I was making the biggest sacrifice living on a sailboat.
Bo: Oh, yeah.
Hope: No closet space, nowhere to put my shoes.
Bo: You had your picket fence.
Hope: All of Shawn's clothes I had to put in there. I did it because I loved my husband and because I knew that he wanted it so badly. And it turned out to be one of the happiest times of my life.
Bo: We've been through an awful lot since then -- good and bad. And you're right. We were happy. And I think we can be just that happy again.
Belle: Well, I didn't hear her screaming more in there, so she must have remembered you.
Victor: Are you kidding? She threw up her arms as soon as she saw me. She gets more and more beautiful every day.
Philip: I couldn't agree more. Come here, baby girl. Come here. Oh, you're still daddy's little girl, aren't you? You're daddy's little girl. [Bell rings]
Belle: That must be Bo and Hope.
Philip: Why do you say that?
Belle: I don't know. Bo said he had something to talk to me about. Oh, hi. Yes?
Delivery Guy: Philip Kiriakis?
Philip: Yeah, that's me.
Delivery Guy: You've been served.
Philip: Son of a bitch.
Belle: What? What is it?
Philip: It's Shawn. He's trying to take Claire away from us.
Bonnie: Ta-da!
Mimi: Well, I don't think I'll be wearing the sexy maid ensemble. You can just return that one.
Bonnie: I can't take this back to the store. It's from my own personal closet.
Mimi: Ew!
Bonnie: What?
Mimi: Sick.
Bonnie: I am just so damn happy that Shawn is still paying you the attention you deserve. With all this trouble with Patrick, the last thing I need to do is worry about another one of my kids. But just to be on the safe side -- and I know it might be overkill -- I have, actually, one more thing that may help you and Shawn. Here we go. And I think you're gonna like it a lot. Here.
Mimi: A townhouse by Salem Place.
Bonnie: Absolutely, sugar. I think it's about time you and Shawn owned your own piece of the rock.
Mimi: How are we gonna pay for it?
Bonnie: Well, after the Salem Grand Prix next week, when Shawn makes all that money from Titan off his new engine, you two can start a new life together far away from --
Mimi: Belle and Claire.
Bonnie: Exactly. As long as they're across the hall, you are always gonna worry whether Shawn wants to spend more time with his ex-girlfriend and his baby than with you. And we all now Belle's gonna think of the perfect excuse to give in to her feelings. Come on. You read the girl's diary. You know she still has a thing for Shawn. She always will. And even if he tries to resist --
Mimi: Okay, Mom, you're just building this whole thing up in your head, and none of that is going to happen. You will see.
Shawn D.: Hello.
Mimi: Hi, baby.
Shawn D.: Hey. What's going on?
Bonnie: Hey.
Shawn D.: Hey, Bonnie. Oh, boy. Wow. I'll say. Wow. I guess it must be your day, Mimi, 'cause I got some good news.
Mimi: Really?
Shawn D.: I'm suing for custody of Claire.
Max: Chelsea, if you're really into racing at all, then, yeah, definitely come down to the Grand Prix and support us.
Stephanie: Yeah, and if you want Max to win, you should come down and cheer for him. It's not gonna hurt my feelings.
Chelsea: Oh, good, 'cause I was really concerned about that.
Max: But you know, if you're really not into it, if you're not interested -- which, I really don't think you're a big racing fan anyway -- you'll probably be wasting your time.
Chelsea: Max, can I talk to you alone for a second, please?
Stephanie: I'll wait outside, Max. You need a ride to the garage, don't you?
Max: Actually, I'd appreciate that if you wouldn't mind.
Stephanie: No.
Max: Okay. What do you want to talk about?
Chelsea: I wanted to talk to you about my case.
Max: Oh, and which case is this? Because you're involved in so many right now, I lose track.
Chelsea: Me finding the file about Claire Kiriakis. There's just something that I think that you'd like to hear that'll just set the record straight.
Max: No, I'll pass because I've heard so many stories lately from you that I just don't want to hear another one. Look, I got to go.
Belle: I just can't believe that Shawn's doing this.
Philip: Yeah, well, I can. I'm just trying to figure out what the hell he's gonna do next.
Belle: What do you mean? Like what?
Philip: I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to bar me from Claire's life for good, that's what.
Victor: Are you saying the DNA records that Shawn found in his hospital room are accurate and he's really Claire's father?
Belle: Yes, it's true. It happened before Philip and I were married, Victor, and Shawn and I didn't even know that we --
Victor: You don't have to explain yourself to me, Belle. But let me guess -- this is the reason you were thrown into jail for disorderly conduct.
Philip: You have no idea how much it hurt to find out that Claire belonged to Shawn and Belle.
Victor: But now that Shawn is Claire's father --
Philip: I don't want to ever hear you refer to Claire as Shawn's child. You understand me?
Shawn D.: I know how you feel about having everything all worked out legally, in writing. It makes things so much easier, right?
Mimi: Yeah. So, Philip's already been served the papers?
Shawn D.: That's right.
Mimi: How did you arrange that?
Shawn D.: Frankie's representing me. I met with him earlier today, and I told him to move fast.
Mimi: Well, he sure did, didn't he?
Bonnie: Shawn, just to clarify, did you ask for sole custody?
Shawn D.: More like half on, half off.
Bonnie: Oh, well, that's wonderful. Yeah, isn't it?
Mimi: Yeah, well, uh --
Bonnie: Mimi was just telling me how much she wants to really stand behind you in all your efforts to be a daddy to Claire, weren't you, sweetheart?
Mimi: Of course. Shawn... there's nothing I would like more than to have Claire live with us part time. I mean, she's your daughter, and I really wouldn't have it any other way.
Shawn D.: Thanks, Mimi.
Mimi: I just wished we would have discussed serving Philip those papers first because we've already seen how angry and upset he is.
Shawn D.: Look, there's nothing to discuss, all right? I had to act fast. And I'm just so glad that you understand how much this means to me.
Max: Ooh, that is cold.
Stephanie: That's the general idea. The ice is gonna help with the swelling.
Max: , If I had known I was gonna get all of this attention, I would have broken my toe a long time ago. All this TLC -- doesn't this fall into the category of aiding and abetting the enemy, though?
Stephanie: This is not war, Max. It's a car race, and I want you as near to perfect condition as you can be.
Max: Hey, I already told you, Steph. I'm not using this broken toe as an excuse for losing because I don't plan on losing. It doesn't look very comfortable down there..
Stephanie: It's not, but I'm an athlete. I'm tough.
Max: Well, if you're up for it, I have a perfect cure for all of our aches and pains. Would you mind? Thank you. Aah.
Stephanie: Ooh, sorry. That's it. That's it.
Max: All right, come with me.
Victor: I'm sorry, Philip. I understand how you feel. I felt the same way years ago when I first found out that Bo was my son and that I had missed out on raising him. I understand the pain that you're in. I wish there was something that I could do to make it go away, but I can’t. And unfortunately, the fact that Shawn is Claire's natural father is not gonna go away either.
Philip: But it's lot easier for you to handle, isn't it? Shawn's your natural grandson, which means Claire's still your great-granddaughter. She's still part of your life, so what difference does it make to you? I am your son, and I am asking you, I need you to use your connections to help me fight this case that Shawn is bringing against me, Dad.
Victor: Philip, you're asking me to drive an even deeper wedge into our family.
[Doorbell rings]
Belle: Oh, excuse me. Hi.
Hope: Hi, sweetie.
Bo: Hey, Belle.
Belle: Hi, good to see you.
Bo: You too.
Hope: Hey, Victor.
Bo: Hey, Victor.
Victor: How you doing, Bo?
Bo: Welcome back.
Victor: Thank you.
Bo: Philip.
Philip: Hey.
Bo: How are you holding up?
Philip: I've been better.
Bo: Yeah, I bet. We're not interrupting anything, are we?
Victor: We were just finishing up some business, and then we got served with Shawn's lawsuit. I assume that's why you're here.
Bo: No, we didn’t k anything about it.
Philip: Your son is suing for custody of my daughter.
Hope: Wha-- oh, my God. Philip, I am so sorry that you have to go through this.
Philip: Don't feel sorry for me. When this is all said and done, Shawn's gonna be the one suffering.
Shawn D.: I was thinking about measuring the nursery again.
Mimi: Why?
Shawn D.: I was thinking about building a dollhouse for Claire
Mimi: I think she's a little young for that.
Shawn D.: She'll grow into it eventually. What? What's wrong?
Mimi: I thought that room was going to be for the baby that we're having with our surrogate.
Shawn D.: Look, we can fit two cribs easy.
Mimi: Are you gonna build a dollhouse for our baby?
Shawn D.: Well, not if it's a boy. You're not upset about this, are you? I mean, you love Claire.
Mimi: I do. And I don't want to keep you from your baby, Shawn, believe me. I just don't want an ugly custody situation.
Shawn D.: I am not gonna give myself alcohol poisoning again, if that's what you're worried about. I am in such a better place about all this, Meems. Don't worry.
Mimi: "Don't worry." Of course he's thrilled to be working out a custody arrangement this time, but why does he think I would be so thrilled?
Bonnie: Because he knows how much you love him and how much you want him to be happy. Listen, it might not be such a bad thing to have Claire around here every once in a while, especially if you can convince Shawn to move to that swanky new town home, away from this loft and Belle, seriously.
Mimi: I think the money that we were gonna use for the town home is now going to go to attorney fees for the custody of Claire. It doesn't matter anyway because you know what? We could move to Tibet, and she would still come between us. The fact is, Claire is Shawn's daughter with Belle. And with another one on the way, I don't see how I can compete with that.
Shawn D.: You're not. Look, Bonnie, would you please leave? Mimi and I need to talk.
Chelsea: Max? Max, are you here? Max? [Sighs]
Frankie: What are you doing?
Max: It's kind of nice, huh?
Stephanie: Mmm. Yeah.
Max: Racing for Titan has its perks -- executive privileges at the gym.
Stephanie: I wonder if E.J. and Mythic Communications will do the same for me.
Max: I couldn't imagine why not. But until then, it's kind of nice we can relax in here, isn't it? It gets kind of crazy when we get all amped up for a race.
Stephanie: Well, the adrenaline is fine, but the downtime does have its advantages, too.
Max: Come here. I think you've got something --
Hope: Philip... you're not the only one who is going to suffer in this. We all are. I'm afraid to tell you, there are going to be an awful lot of tears shed before this is finally settled.
Victor: Hope's right, Philip. I can't say I'm happy with the way Shawn blind sided you with those papers, but you have to understand one thing -- no matter what happens in court, this is a situation you're gonna be grappling with for the rest of your life. Now, we're all family here, and I hope we don't forget the most important thing, which is how much we all love and respect each other. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got an appointment across town. I wish I could stay longer. Hope...
Philip: I'm gonna walk out with you, Dad.
Victor: Bo, good to see you.
Bo: Good to see you, Victor.
[Claire cries]
Belle: Aw. Claire, honey, what's wrong? That was a short nap. Oh honey were you not ready? Did we wake you up? Ooh! Give me that.
Hope: Belle, may I?
Belle: Oh, of course.
Hope: Hey. Hi, beautiful girl. Hi. Oh, my gosh. You know what I just noticed? She has Shawn's eyes. I never no-- you know what? I am gonna bring her upstairs and try to put her down for her nap where it's quiet, okay, sweetie?
Belle: Okay, thank you.
Hope: Thank you. Hi, beautiful girl.
Belle: Well, I'm sorry everything's such a mess. I don't really know what to do. Philip loves Claire so much, and now Shawn's trying to take her away from him and on top of the in vitro. Anyway, I'm just glad that you're here. I'm sure Philip really appreciates your support, and I'm really sorry that you're stuck in the middle of this and that you have to choose sides between your son and your brother.
Bo: Hey, hey, don't worry about it. Belle, there's something you need to know, and it's not gonna be easy for you to hear.
Mimi: See you later, Mom. Thanks for the lingerie. I'm sorry. I wish you hadn't heard that.
Shawn D.: Look, I'm glad I did. I'm sorry that I just assumed that you'd be happy about all this. I know how much you love Claire and what a great mom you're gonna be. I just -- I wasn't thinking about how complicated it'd be because of Belle. I want you to know, Mimi -- you may think that I'm thrilled that Claire's mine. And a big part of me is, but it's hard, too. I got two children with no real claim to either of them. I don't even remember being with Belle when we conceived Claire, and I'm gonna have another baby with her by accident and then your baby, which belongs to Philip. It's like one minute I'm feeling one thing, and the next minute I'm feeling something else. But what I do know is I need my little girl in my life. And if you can't handle that, then I'll --
Mimi: No! Shawn, don't say that.
Chelsea: Um...I heard a faint hissing sound coming from under the hood, so I wanted to see exactly where it was coming from so I could tell Max, you know?
Frankie: Mm-hmm.
Chelsea: But it just kind of went away.
Frankie: Right, right. Hey, speaking of Max, where is he?
Chelsea: I don't know. Stephanie was supposed to drop him off here.
Frankie: Didn't they have time trials today?
Chelsea: Mm-hmm.
Frankie: Did you go?
Chelsea: No.
Frankie: Well, then how do you know that Stephanie was supposed to bring him back here?
Chelsea: 'Cause I ran into them at the hospital when I was doing my community service.
Frankie: The hospital? What the hell were they doing at the hospital?
Chelsea: Max broke his toe, but you didn't hear that from me.
Frankie: Well, then how do you know?
Chelsea: Two nurses told me. And I went in to check on Max, an tried to tell me that he just stubbed his toe. But he was hobbling pretty badly. He could barely walk. I overheard him tell Stephanie not to tell anyone because he still plans on racing in the Grand Prix.
Frankie: How the hell did Max break his toe, anyway?
Chelsea: I don't know. I didn't ask. Stephanie was hanging all over him like he cut his foot off, so...
Frankie: Chelsea, have you told Max that you were innocent of doctoring Claire's DNA results?
Chelsea: Well, I tried to.
Frankie: Mm-hmm.
Chelsea: And he wouldn't give me the time of day, which is why I'm here. I'm not expecting him to take me back. I just want him to know that I'm not the monster everyone thinks I am.
Frankie: I'm sure once he hears what you have to say, he'll be persuaded.
Chelsea: I just really hope that it's not too late.
Stephanie: Why are you staring at me like that?
Max: I was just thinking it's too bad you work in a profession where you have to wear a helmet.
Stephanie: Why?
Max: 'Cause it covers up your face and your beautiful red hair.
Mimi: Shawn, I know how you want to have Claire with you, but please, don't you dare give me an ultimatum that if I don't like it, I can just take a hike.
Shawn D.: I wasn't gonna tell you to take a hike, okay?
Mimi: I don't need an ultimatum, Shawn. I can handle just about anything, certainly including being a loving stepmother to my Goddaughter, as long as I l have you.
Shawn D.: Mimi, of course you'll always have me.
Mimi: But how much of you will I really have, Shawn? Because what I can't handle is wondering if every time you look at Claire, you'll feel one step closer to Belle.
Shawn D.: I have told you, you have nothing to be jealous about, all right? I love you.
Mimi: I know, but things are different now. You and Belle have made love, whether you remember it or not. You created a child together and that is a bond that nothing can break.
Mimi: Yeah, but you and I have a bond, too -- a bond created by love, commitment, and wedding vows. What do I have to do to get you to see that?
Mimi: Show me. Convince me that what we have is stronger than what you've had with her. Please, I need to know it. Please, Shawn.
Bo: So, all we know right now is that your mom is missing.
Belle: I just -- I can't believe this. She was just here. She went to the mall with me. Why couldn't she just work with the women's empowerment group here in Salem?
Hope: Because she was asked to start a statewide network in New Jersey. She felt she could make a difference, honey.
Belle: Yeah, well, she can make a difference here. We need her here more than ever.
Bo: Listen, your dad went to New Jersey to investigate. He wanted me to tell you that he'll call you when he has news, that he loves you, and he will bring your mom home.
Hope: What is it?
Belle: Oh, God.
Hope: Honey, what is it?
Belle: Something's wrong.
Mimi: I don't want anything to happen to Belle's baby.
Bonnie: If she were to lose it, it would be one less tie she has to Shawn.
Shawn D.: You don't want this baby. You wish it had never been conceived, and you wish like hell that it never had been born.
Philip: Shut up! Just shut up!
Stephanie: It's like something's pulling him away from me and my mom.
Billie: What about Kayla?
Steve: I would ask her for a divorce.
