Shawn D.: You're awfully quiet. You all right?

Mimi: Oh, I'm just tired.

Shawn D.: Well, this is all

Mimi: I know, but it's exciting, too.

Shawn D.: Yeah.

Philip: Hey, we were waiting for you guys.

Belle: Hey.

Mimi: Why? Is there something wrong?

Philip: No. We knew you had an appointment at the fertility clinic, and we thought you'd be back by now.

Belle: So, how'd it go?

Abe: I won't be long with Tek and these reports, okay?

Lexie: Okay. Um, is this about your health, Kate?

Kate: Actually, it's about Sami.

Lexie: What about her?

Kate: What does she have on you, Lexie?

Lexie: I-I don't know what you're talking about, Kate. Sami doesn't have anything on me.

Kate: Then what do you have on Sami, because I know there's something going on between the two of you?

Lexie: That's ridiculous. You're wrong.

Kate: No, I'm not wrong. I don't think so. Lucas -- Lucas told me about all of the tension and all of the strain between the two of you.

Lexie: That's because I don't like Sami, okay, and she doesn't like me. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm very busy.

Kate: Listen to me. I know that you feel like you have to hide this, but you don’t. Maybe I can help you. I know that I would be on your side here against Sami, and, believe me, I have never been more motivated to stop her. She's worked her way back into Austin's life again. Did you know that?

Lexie: No.

Kate: Well, neither did I, and I'm going to make sure that she doesn't ruin his life again. Now, I know that you know something, and it would be so much easier if you would just tell me what it is. Because one way or another, I will find out.

Lexie: I have nothing to tell you, Kate.

Kate: I think you have plenty to tell me. You're just afraid to do it.

Lexie: Would you please stop badgering me and just leave?

Sami: Aah! Oh, my God!

Austin: Are you okay?

Sami: Oh, my God. This is such bad luck.

Carrie: Here.

Austin: Sami, I've heard some superstitions, but that's a new one on me.

Carrie: You know, breaking a champagne bottle is good luck. That's how they christen ships.

Sami: Yeah, that's when they do it on purpose, Carrie. This was an accident, so obviously it's just a really bad omen.

Will: Mom, it's worse than a bad omen. It's bad karma.

Hope: Patrick, what are you doing?

Alex: He's doing what I paid him to do.

Hope: Oh, my God. I don't believe this. Bo was right about you all along..

Alex: What the hell are you waiting for, Patrick? Kill him.

Hope: Are you crazy? Don't you dare. [Gunshot]

Alex: What are you doing?

Marlena: I'm protecting the man that I love.

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of our Lives.

Shawn D.: Everything went fine.

Philip: Okay, and they harvested the eggs?

Mimi: I don't think that's something we want to talk about, especially in the hall.

Belle: Oh. We're sorry. You're right. Philip and I are just excited. We know how much you want kids.

Shawn D.: Yeah, well, hey, look at this face. I can't wait.

Mimi: She looks kind of sleepy, though.

Belle: Well, she had a long nap. She wanted to wait for you.

Shawn D.: What do you say we go inside and we'll talk about it, huh?

Philip: All right.

Shawn D.: I got to fix that door. You guys want something to drink?

Philip: You have any beer?

Shawn D.: Yes.

Philip: I need a beer. Thank you.

Belle: Mimi, you okay? You look nervous.

Mimi: 'Cause I am.

Shawn D.: Well, the procedures at the hospital were a little stressful.

Mimi: Everything went fine, but it's just kind of weird.

Shawn D.: Well, it's certainly not making a baby the fun way, but our child's gonna be conceived with love, just like Claire was.

Philip: Well, if it's weird for you guys to talk about, we don't have to talk about it.

Mimi: It's not that we're embarrassed, Philip. It's just, you know, we have to still wait for the egg to get fertilized. Then after that, we have to wait for it to be incubated before it can be re-implanted, so...

Shawn D.: Hey. [Knock on door] Relax, relax. It's just -- it's not the stork. We got a few months to wait.

Philip: [Laughing] Oh, my God.

Bonnie: Hello! Hi, sweetie.

Shawn D.: Hi.

Philip: Hey!

Bonnie: Hey! Hi, sweetie.

Mimi: What are you doing here?

Bonnie: Don't look so surprised. Max and I have been on pins and needles all day. So, am I a grandma, or what?

Alex: Are you saying that you don't love me?

John: That's exactly what she's saying, pal. Finally got her memory back, and now she knows you're nothing but a lying son of a bitch.

Marlena: No, that's not what I was saying.

John: What?

Hope: What the hell is going on here?

Patrick: Hope, you got to let me explain.

John: What's to explain? Alex just said he paid you to kill me.

Alex: Because you tried to kill me. You're a dangerous man, Black. You kidnaped my wife.

John: I rescued her. It's a big difference. You're a dangerous -- my God, don't tell me you don't remember what he did to you.

Marlena: Well, it's a little confusing, actually. I-I'm very clear on how much I love you. Maybe it's the injection you gave me.

Hope: The what?

Alex: You injected her? With what? What the hell did you do to my wife?

John: I injected her with a drug that's gonna counteract the effects of the drug you gave her to suppress her memory.

Alex: No wonder you're not acting like yourself. God only knows what dangerous drug this lunatic has given you.

Marlena: No. He was trying to help me remember.

John: And it did. Go on. Tell him. What is it, Doc? Just tell him.

Alex: Don't you see that she is disoriented? And it's all because of your recklessness. I need to get her to a hospital. There is one on this island, isn't there?

Patrick: Yes, of course.

Alex: Come on. Come with me.

Marlena: No, I-I'm not ill.

Alex: You don't know that.

Marlena: I just feel confused. That's all.

Alex: Because of the injection that he gave you, and it could get worse. You need to be examined.

John: I would never give her anything that would hurt her.

Alex: Oh, is that so, huh? You injected Lois Banks with a drug. I mean, it could be the very same drug, and look what happened to her. She wound up dead.

Kate: Lexie, I'm sorry, but Austin's entire future is at stake here, and I'm not going to leave when I feel certain that you know something that could help my son. What would you do if Theo was about to make the biggest mistake of his life? Please. Lexie, I am asking you as a mother. Tell me what's going on.

Lexie: Kate, I -- there's nothing going on. I told you that.

Kate: Why are you so nervous? Why are you so agitated?

Lexie: Because I-I just had a cancer scare, okay? I thought I was dying. [ Telephone ringing]

[Gasps]

Kate: It's the telephone.

Lexie: Okay. Okay. Abe's in the kitchen. He'll get it.

Kate: Lexie, what is it? What is wrong?

Lexie: Kate, I told you. I-I just thought I was dying, okay?

Kate: No. No, I don't think so. I don't think that is it. I think there is something here. I think there is something going on between you and Sami, and I think it's serious. Listen to me. Very few of us go through life without making some kind of mistake. God knows I've made a few. But whatever it is that you're carrying around, it's gonna feel much better to share it with someone... and I know that I can help you. No one knows better than I how ruthless Sami can be. But I have beaten her at her own game, and I will beat her again. Don't let her roll all over you like this. If we put our heads together -- if we work together -- we can stop Sami dead in her tracks. It's for everyone's benefit -- for you... for me... for Austin. So please -- please -- tell me.

Abe: Hey, uh, I was just going to -- is everything all right?

Austin: Will, will you cut your mother a break? She's really upset.

Will: I'm sorry. It's just I've been doing a report on karma for school.

Lucas: For school? What subject is that -- karma?

Will: Geography. We're studying India -- well, all of Asia, really. The teacher let us choose our subject.

Lucas: And you choose karma? Why?

Will: I don't know. I guess I was just wondering why good things happen to some people and not to others. You know, some people believe that all of our actions in life add up to work for or against us.

Austin: So you mean we create our own destiny?

Will: Yeah. Sow goodness, reap goodness. Sow evil, reap evil.

Austin: Well, a champagne bottle shattering, you know, is neither good, nor evil. It's just an accident. It just happened.

Will: Not if you buy into karma. Nothing just happens. Good actions are rewarded.

Sami: Bad actions are punished.

Carrie: I think we should stop all this good-and-evil talk. It's not like Sami's done something bad, have you? I mean lately.

Lexie: You want me to convince Carrie that she shouldn't choose to be with Austin?

Sami: I'm glad we understand each other.

Lexie: Oh, yeah, I understand. You're blackmailing me.

Sami: And you are cheating on Abe, so you can get off your high horse. Now, all you have to do is make sure that Carrie doesn't choose Austin. Otherwise, you can say goodbye to your happy life with Abe and Theo.

Lexie: Sami, can I speak to you, please?

Sami: What is it?

Lexie: Are you happy now? Your blackmail worked.

Sami: Carrie could have told Austin the whole story.

Lexie: What whole story?

Sami: All she had to do, if she loves him so much, is tell him that they can't have kids together, and they could have -- I don't know -- adopted. But no. Instead she's caught up thinking that they're gonna have some genetically --

Lexie: Genetic syndrome is the term. That is not the whole story, Sami. That's your sick lie.

Sami: So you have my hopes up. What do you plan to do to Lexie?

Alex: Well, I'm assuming you've heard that she found a lump and that she believes she might have cancer.

Sami: Yeah, she told me that she might have breast cancer. I feel really bad for her.

Alex: Well, not too bad, I hope, because what I plan on doing is making sure that Lexie's biopsy reports come back negative.

Sami: What do you mean?

Alex: Just exactly what I said. No matter what the true results are, Lexie is going to get good news today.

Sami: Wait a second. You mean that even if she has cancer, you're gonna let her think that she doesn't?

Alex: Yes.

Sami: She could die without treatment.

Alex: Well, that's a possibility. But I think you're like me, Sami. We both operate on the premise that the end justifies the means.

Sami: Wha-- um -- I don't know what to say.

Alex: Don't say anything. Just let me do what I have to do, and everything will work out for the both of us.

Sami: God. Of course not.

Lucas: What is it, Sami? I mean, you've done something, haven't you?

Austin: Will you stop it?

Lucas: No, I just want to know. I know that look. I've seen it plenty of times in the past. Why don't you create some good karma for yourself and tell us all what you're really up to?

Mimi: Mom, you know it's gonna be a while before we know if the procedure worked.

Bonnie: I know. I-I just want to know how it went -- if there were any problems or -- can I help it if I worry about my little girl?

Mimi: There's nothing to worry about, because there were no problems.

Shawn D.: And hopefully things will go how we expect -- we'll be parents in 9 ½ months?

Mimi: It'll be our own little miracle.

Bonnie: Nobody deserves a miracle more than you, sweetheart.

Mimi: Thanks. But you know what? I know it's not the end of the world if we can't have our own child. I mean, it happens to a lot of couples, and we would be fine with adopting. But if I can get pregnant this way, then it would just be such a blessing.

Max: [Thinking] Yeah, for you, maybe. But I'd have to compete for Bonbon's attention with a grandkid. If Mimi has a baby, it'll be worse than when she dragged home that mangy alley cat.

Bonnie: You know what? I just can't wait until you two make me a grandmother. Whether you give birth or adopt, I am just gonna spoil that little stinker rotten. Oh! Max, will you stop tugging, please? We just got here.

Shawn D.: I think your mom is gonna be a problem.

Bonnie: Me, a problem? Just you wait, Shawn Brady. I guarantee you will be doing some spoiling of your own once you and Mimi have your very own bundle of joy.

Philip: It happened to me.

Shawn D.: All right, all right. You are probably right.

Max: [Barks]

Bonnie: Oh, see? Even Max agrees. [Chuckles]

Shawn D.: Why don't you take a seat?

Bonnie: Of course, Shawn already has a baby with Belle. He just doesn't know it.

Max: [Thinking] Well, I'll be doggone. These humans -- they're just like rabbits.

Bonnie: Oh, sweetheart, thank you -- thank you so, so much. So, you guys have any names picked out or anything like that, hmm?

Mimi: Not really.

Belle: Oh, come on. Shawn and I had a bunch of names picked out when we were dating.

Hope: I don't know what the hell is going on here, but this is crazy.

Patrick: Maybe if you'd hear me out --

Hope: I don't want to hear anything you have to say. I can't believe I defended you to everyone. Bo was right about you all along.

Patrick: Things aren't always what they seem, Hope.

John: Sometimes they are. But I'm more concerned about Marlena right now.. Don't you realize that Alex North is behind all this? He's got you on such a string, you're like a yo-yo. You're so confused. You don't know who or what to believe anymore.

Alex: That's bull.

Marlena: John, is it true what Alex said? You gave Lois an injection and she ended up killing herself?

John: No, that's not true. Lois didn't kill herself. I didn't kill her. Alex North killed her, and he's gotten away with it, just like everything else he's done.

Alex: The Salem P.D. cleared me of that, remember? They know I had nothing to do with Lois' death.

Hope: Well, I believe John. He would never intentionally harm anyone -- certainly not you.

Alex: Oh, he'd never harm anyone? The man tried to gun me down while Marlena and I were renewing our vows in church, in front of half the police force.

John: That's because you threatened to kill her and I was just protecting her from you.

Alex: That's a ridiculous accusation. I love Marlena. Anyone can see that. Go on. Tell them. Have I ever done anything to hurt you?

Marlena: No.

John: I don't know how you've done it, but you still got a hold on her. It's not just the drugs you're giving her, either.

Alex: The only hold I have on Marlena is the same hold that she has on me. We love each other, and it's a pity that you can't accept that, John.

Cop: All right, nobody move! We got reports of gunfire from this area. Want to tell us what's going on?

John: Yeah. Arrest that man. He tried to kill me.

Alex: No, no, no, no, no. He's the one who tried to kill me. Arrest him.

Kate: Everything's just fine. I was asking Lexie about her health.

Abe: Oh. Well, now that we know the biopsy results were negative, we're much better. Thank God.

Kate: Absolutely. I had my own cancer scare a few years ago. I know how terrifying it can be.

Lexie: Yeah. I'm glad we both dodged that bullet. Well, Kate, thank you for stopping by.

Kate: Sure. Just remember what I said. If you need to talk anytime, just call me, day or night.

Lexie: Thank you.

Kate: I'll see myself out. [Door opens, closes]

Abe: Well... that was really nice of her, offering to help.

Lexie: Yeah, I suppose. Uh, is Tek still in the kitchen?

Abe: No, no. We went over the reports, and he left the back way. He said to tell you good night.

Lexie: Good. I was hoping we'd have some time alone. What?

Abe: Guess who was on the phone earlier.

Lexie: Who? Honey, come on, please. I'm just way too tired for guessing games.

Abe: [Chuckles] It was Clarence the clown, and get this -- he can do Theo's birthday party, after all.

Lexie: You're kidding. You know, I tried to hire him months ago. Oh, my goodness. I've been racking my brain trying to come up with ideas for entertainment. One less thing to worry about, huh?

Abe: Well, I'll tell you, this world has really changed. You know, when I was a kid, the only entertainment we had at birthday parties was "pin the tail on the donkey." Now you got clowns, you got jugglers, you got pony rides.

Lexie: Yeah. So, tell me, how'd you persuade Clarence? When I called, he was booked all through the summer.

Abe: He had a cancellation.

Lexie: Well, lucky us, huh?

Abe: He said he remembered that you were very persistent and disappointed when he had to turn you down.

Lexie: Yeah. Oh, honey, this is so great. Theo's gonna be so happy.

Abe: Yeah, yeah, although I'm feeling a little guilty.

Lexie: For what?

Abe: Capitalizing on someone else's misfortune.

Lexie: What do you mean? Oh, no. The cancellation. Did something happen to the child?

Sami: Why are you always so suspicious of me?

Austin: Lucas, she feels bad enough already.

Sami: Yeah, I do.

Lucas: All right. When are you gonna snap out of it, or are you gonna jump out the window?

Austin: Come on! She's already bummed out about the bottle breaking.

Lucas: I'm bummed out about her superstitions.

Sami: A lot of people are superstitious, Lucas.

Lucas: Not like you. Remember when that cat crossed your path? You stayed in bed for three days.

Sami: I was sick.

Lucas: You weren't sick. That cat got in your head. That's what happened..

Carrie: You have to admit that's pretty funny.

Lucas: When she walks down the street, she doesn't even step on any cracks.

Sami: All right. I don't like to walk on sidewalks. I prefer to drive.

Will: Dad, you're always telling me to not make fun of mom.

Lucas: You're right, but it just kills me how she's a slave to those horoscopes. Forget all the times she spent on those psychic phone lines.

Sami: Which your mother knew about and how she broke us up. Oh, let's talk about that for a second.

Lucas: Let's not.

Will: It was a con, but you bought into it. Another bad move and more bad karma.

Sami: You know what? I'd rather stop talking about karma, okay?

Austin: I think that's a great idea. Bad things happen to everyone. It's just a part of life, Will.

Will: You've got to admit more bad things happen to mom.

Austin: The important thing is that when something bad happens to you, you don't turn around and do something bad yourself.

Lucas: Yeah, that's right... like try to go too far and dig up dirt on people so you can blackmail them. Or maybe you could dress up as a man...

Austin: Lucas, what is your problem?

Sami: This is not funny.

Lucas: I'm not trying to be funny. The point is all the bad luck you've found, you brought on yourself. And then when someone does something bad to you, then you retaliate. It's a vicious cycle, Sami. It always happens. It's never gonna end.

Sami: If you're trying to make me feel worse, it's working. There's still some glass I'm gonna clean up. Excuse me.

Austin: Why don't you tell me what else you learned about India?

Will: Yeah, okay.

Lucas: Look, I'm sorry. I know she's your sister. I know we're celebrating. We're all happy right now. But she's acting real guilty.

Carrie: Please just stop it.

Lucas: I know her. She's up to something. And by Sami's standards, it's got to be something pretty bad.

Belle: Of course, "Claire" was always my favorite name for a girl.

Philip: What? I'm sorry. I just kind of thought we came up with that name together.

Mimi: Well, anyway, it's a perfect name for her. And if Shawn and I have a boy, we were thinking about naming him after Zack. But if we have twin boys -- you know, if you have in vitro, the chances of having multiple births are much higher. I kind of like the name "Scott." What do you think?

Belle: Oh, my gosh. He loves it. That's the name that he picked out if we were gonna have a boy.

Mimi: [Exhales sharply] I need a drink.

Philip: How come "Scott" never came up when we were naming our baby? It could have been a boy.

Mimi: What am I gonna do if the in vitro doesn't work?

Bonnie: Shh! Think positive, baby.

Mimi: They were only able to harvest one egg today, so that kind of gives me the feeling that it's not gonna work, and it'll just be my punishment for not telling Shawn about you know what.

Shawn D.: Hey, hey, hey. Don't tell me about what?

Bonnie: Uh, you know what? My -- my daughter is a worrywart. She's afraid she's gonna disappoint you, you know, if you two strike out in the lab.

Shawn D.: Hey, we are not gonna strike out, okay? And if we do, we'll just have to try again. We'll keep doing it until it works.

[Knock on door]

Shawn D.: Kate. Hi.

Kate: Hi.

Philip: Hey.

Bonnie: Max, look, it's Auntie Kate.

Kate: Hi, Bonnie.

Shawn D.: Excuse me.

Kate: I was next door, but I didn't get an answer. I heard voices over here, so here I am.

Philip: We're just over here because Shawn and Mimi just got back from the hospital.

Belle: They're trying to have a baby through I.V.F.

Kate: Ah. Well, that's fabulous news.

Bonnie: Isn't it, though?

Shawn D.: Yeah, we're pretty pumped.

Kate: Well, if there's anything I can do to help, just let me know.

Philip: That's a very sweet offer, Mom, but as far as I understand, they have to do that themselves.

Kate: Yes, I do understand that. I meant that if you needed any help with making appointments with specialists, I'll be happy to pull a few strings for you. I went through the procedure myself, so if you ever want to talk, Mimi, I'm here.

Mimi: That's very nice of you.

Philip: So, what's up? You looking for us?

Kate: Yeah. Actually, I have news, too.

Bonnie: Good or bad?

Kate: Good and bad -- both. I'll start with the good. Carrie is pregnant with Lucas' baby.

Philip: No way. That's great. So they're gonna move their wedding date up, right?

Kate: Hopefully. Better sooner than later, right?

Belle: Carrie must be so happy.

Kate: Yes, they're both happy.

Philip: Yeah, I bet they are.

Kate: And the second thing is Sami has actually managed to talk Austin into proposing to her.

Belle: What? Sami's gonna marry Austin again?

Kate: Yes. Well, she thinks they're going to get married again, but I'm going to make sure it doesn't happen.

John: Don't listen to this man. He's a psychopath.

Alex: He showed up on this island to cause nothing but trouble for my wife and me.

John: She's my wife, and I came here to protect her. That's when these guys pulled the guns on me.

Alex: You tried to shoot me in Salem -- in church, no less. Call the Salem Police Department. They will verify --

Chief: Quiet -- both of you! Patrick, tell me what happened here.

John: What the hell are you doing asking him?

Chief: I know Mr. Lockhart, and I trust him. Now, no interruptions, you understand?

Patrick: All right, Chief. This is Hope Brady. She's an innocent bystander. That's Marlena Evans down there. She recently married Alex North.

Alex: Legally, we were already married. We were renewing our vows.

John: Ignoring the fact she's already married to me.

Patrick: That's John Black. As you can see, this is a little confusing, but the bottom line is he flew down to the island to try to steal Marlena Evans away from Dr. North.

Alex: He is obsessed with her, and he's been stalking us. There are numerous restraining orders against him. He's not to be within 30 feet of either one of us, and yet here he is. And on top of that, he has injected my wife with some drug I'm very concerned about.

Chief: Is all this true, Mr. Black?

John: Yeah. The drug was harmless, though. These guys are the ones with the guns, and the one you heard go off was Patrick Lockhart's.

Chief: You can tell me later. I'm taking you in.

John: You do what you want. If anything happens to Marlena, it's on your head.

Hope: You're making a mistake. John's not the one who's dangerous here. Alex is lying, and you're playing right into his hands.

Abe: There's nothing wrong with the little boy, at least not physically.

Lexie: Then what? Why was his party canceled?

Abe: His parents are getting divorced.

Lexie: Oh. That's too bad, but that's no reason to cancel a child's birthday party.

Abe: He has to be in court that day. That's when they're having the custody hearing.

Lexie: On his birthday? Oh, honey, that's awful.

Abe: Yeah, that's what I thought. But Clarence says that he thinks that, that's the only day that both lawyers are available.

Lexie: You know, they probably don't even need this hearing. I'm sure the mother's gonna be awarded custody.

Abe: Not necessarily. You know, according to Clarence, the father hired a detective, and he got the goods on her. She was having an affair.

Lexie: Oh. Um, well, you know, that happens sometimes. It doesn't make her a bad mother.

Abe: This is a cheating wife we're talking about. Don't tell me you're trying to defend her.

Lexie: No, I'm not. I'm just saying --

Abe: Look, Lexie, she is a wife and a mother. She has a responsibility to her child, as well as her husband.

Lexie: Abe, I agree, okay?

Abe: You know, maybe she doesn't even deserve custody. When I was in uniform, I saw a lot of kids whose mothers were carrying on with other men, neglecting their families. Those kids were messed up 'cause they weren't getting the love and attention they need.

Lexie: Honey, why -- we don't even know these people. Come on.

Abe: I'm sorry. I'm just talking generally. I'm just glad that the courts have finally realized that giving birth doesn't automatically make a mother the better parent. Fathers have rights, too, and just maybe the kids are better off with them.

Austin: Will, just so you know, your mom and I are going to get married.

Will: Even though --

Austin: Even though, what? She broke a champagne bottle?

Will: No. It's not about the bottle. It's -- it's everything that she's done leading up to it.

Austin: Yeah. Well, the past is the past. We are gonna walk down the aisle. You can count on it. And I got to tell you -- as cool as it is being your uncle, for me, it's gonna be so much cooler being your stepfather, and I hope you feel the same way.

Will: I do. I've always thought you were a great guy. But the past isn't the past, Uncle Austin. I mean, she's walked down the aisle a ton of times, but she's never made it to the honeymoon. What makes you think this is gonna be any different?

Carrie: I think you're misreading Sami's mood. You know she's superstitious. Don't you think she's just overreacting because she broke that bottle?

Lucas: No. I think she's freaking out about something else.

Carrie: She's happy, Lucas. She's engaged to Austin. Will says he's gonna move in with her part-time. Everything is going her way, so what could be bothering her?

Lucas: I don't know, but whatever it is, it's got to be something huge.

Abe: You know, I can't stop thinking about that little boy. I hope everything goes well for him in court. Sweetheart, I shouldn't have mentioned it. You're more worried about him than I am.

Lexie: I'm also worried about the mother, you know? It's a terrible thing having a child taken away from you.

Abe: Yeah. Unfortunately, we know about that firsthand.

Lexie: Yeah.

Abe: Let's just focus on the fact that we got Clarence for Theo's birthday party.

Lexie: Yeah. I just wish it hadn't happened at another child's expense.

Abe: Yeah. But you know what? I am so sorry that happened, too, but it's not our fault. If we didn't snap up Clarence, somebody else would have.

Lexie: Yeah, I suppose.

Abe: Look, no more doom and gloom -- no more, no more. This is a clown we're talking about.

Lexie: Yeah.

Abe: And also the fact that we're making our little boy happy, right?

Lexie: Right. You're right. Theo comes first. There's nothing more important than our family being together and being happy.

Belle: I really wish that you weren't so hard on Sami, Kate. I really think she's changed.

Kate: Oh, my God. If I hear that one more time --

Belle: Well, obviously Austin thinks so, too, or he wouldn't have asked her to marry him.

Kate: With all due respect, a snake sheds its skin, but it doesn't change. A poisonous snake stays a poisonous snake.

Bonnie: Um, hold the phone a second. I didn't know that Sami and Austin were ever married before. Didn't he dump her at the altar in Las Vegas?

Belle: Well, that time, he did, but they were married once before in France.

Bonnie: This I did not know.

Belle: It was kind of a marriage of convenience, though, 'cause Austin thought Will was his son.

Kate: Yeah, because she lied to both of them.

Belle: Okay. Sami's done some terrible things, but she is my sister and I love her.

Kate: Well, God bless you, Belle. You're a forgiving person.

Belle: Well, I don't know how forgiving I would be if I were Austin or Lucas, though. I mean, Sami keeping the truth about Will from them was...

Kate: Oh, my God. Lying and manipulating and deceiving just to get what she wants. I mean, lying about her son's paternity -- it's -- oh! Hi, baby. Hello, sweetie.

Philip: I don't understand the whole paternity thing, either. How could you not know a kid is yours? All you got to do is look right in their eyes and it's so obvious. [Chuckles]

Mimi: Oh, God. Do you see the way Shawn's looking at Claire. I bet he knows it's his.

Max: [Barks]

Bonnie: I hear you, Max. Yeah, I think it's time for you to go out. The fresh air will do you some good, and the fresh air will do you good, too.

Mimi: I don't think I --

Bonnie: No, we're going. Sorry, everyone. We'll just be back in two shakes. [ Door closes]

Mimi: Mom, what are we gonna do?

Bonnie: Will you stop whining and pull yourself together?

Mimi: How can I? Shawn's gonna find out Claire is his.

Bonnie: No, he's not. What, do you think he's psychic? Philip has no clue how these paternity mix-ups happen. In fact, he has no clue about anything at all. What makes you think Shawn's gonna figure it out? The only way he's gonna find out that he's Claire's father is if you tell him, and you're not gonna do that unless you develop some sort of death wish.

Austin: Hey, listen. I know your mom has let you down a few times.

Will: More than a few, Uncle Austin.

Austin: Yeah, but you love her. You're worried about her.

Will: Well, yeah, I do.

Austin: I think the reason why she's on the edge is because she's so close to having what she wants.

Will: You mean having you?

Austin: Yeah. Well, you know, I'm a part of it. So are you. A real family -- that's what she wants. When we get married and make it legal, that's what she'll finally have.

Will: If you get married.

Austin: You keep saying that.

Will: Because...I'll believe it when I see it.

Austin: Okay.

Carrie: I feel bad for Sami. She's not even enjoying what should be one of the happiest days of her life. She's always wanted this.

Lucas: I just have trouble believing she didn't do something to make it happen. I mean, Austin proposed out of the blue.

Carrie: Look, we both said we wanted things to work out for them. I wish you wouldn't think the worst of her.

Lucas: Listen, Carrie. Sami and I spent a lot of time together.

Carrie: And you've seen her do some terrible things.

Lucas: Yeah, to a lot of people.

Carrie: And I'm one of them.

Lucas: Yeah.

Carrie: I think she's paid a huge price for what she's done. Don't you think she's finally learned her lesson?

Lucas: She should have a PhD where she hasn't learned anything. She plays dirty. That's who she is. She's terrified that whatever she's done is gonna come back to destroy her in some way.

Sami: [Thinking] I didn't do anything. Wrong, Sami. You went along with Alex North when he altered Lexie's biopsy results. You let him hide the fact the she might have breast cancer. If Lexie dies, it will be on your head. Oh, please! Your happiness is all that matters, Sami. Don't let her guilt-trip you. You were looking out for numero uno, and that's the right thing to do. Admit what you've done, and you're gonna lose everything. Besides, you don't even like Lexie, and you don't know for sure that she has cancer. And, anyways, who cares what happens to her? Oh, sure. Yes, by all means, stand idly by and let a woman die. You do that, and you will be punished just like you always are when you screw up, Sami. And just think how proud Will, will be of his mother then.

Sami: [Thinking] Oh, God. I'm gonna pay for what I've done. Not if they don't catch you.

[Scoffs] They will. The truth always comes out, Sami. No sin goes unpunished. I'm warning you. Change your ways before it's too late.

Chief: The one person I know here is Mr. Lockhart. And if he stands by Dr. North's allegation, then that's good enough for me. You do, right, Patrick?

Patrick: That's right. I do.

Alex: Let's go, Marlena. I want you checked out at the hospital. We need to identify the drug that John gave you and how it might affect you.

John: Don't go with him. He doesn't want to help you. He just wants to kill you.

Marlena: John, I-I know that I love you, but I don't think Alex means to hurt me.

Alex: That's right. Let's go. Excuse us.

Chief: Mr. Black, hands behind your back.

John: Come on. This is a joke.

Hope: I'll get you a lawyer. Don't worry. So it's true. You are working for Alex. Patrick, look at me. Answer me, damn it. The gun went off. If I hadn't jumped in, you were gonna shoot John, weren't you?

Patrick: Yeah.

Billie: Bo, are you okay?

Bo: I miss my son. I miss my wife.

Patrick: Hope, listen to me. You've got it all wrong. I do care about you, more than you'll ever know.

John: Give it up, North. It's over.

Alex: Now I can kill both of you.

Sami: Mimi is in confession right now? What's she done this time?

Fr. Jansen: You and Shawn are not husband and wife.
