Alex: May I come in?

Marlena: Of course. [Chuckles] Hi. I was just wondering something.

Alex: What?

Marlena: Well, the bracelet you got me --

Alex: Mm-hmm. What about it?

Marlena: It seems like, uh, it's meant to be engraved, and I was wondering why you hadn't done that.

Alex: [Thinking] Because I dug it out of a hospital trash can -- that's why. I wasn't, uh, sure if you'd like it or not.

Marlena: Of course I like it. I like everything you give me.

Alex: Oh. Well, in that case, I'll have it engraved.

Marlena: Mm-hmm. What do you suppose you'll say?

Alex: [Thinking] "Dear bracelet, I found you just in time. You saved me from the hangman's noose. I'll always love you. Alex." I think I'll keep it simple.

Marlena: [Chuckles]

Alex: I'll leave you two alone.

Marlena: So, how are you?

Lexie: Fine. Just fine.

Marlena: Abe -- how's Abe? Is he regaining his sight?

Lexie: Well, still the blurriness, but that'll go on for quite some time.. He seems to have more trouble with the night vision.

Marlena: But he's recovering. And aren't you the thing? My goodness. Standing by him all this time.

Lexie: Well, of course. Uh, he's my husband. [Clears throat] Marlena, the reason I'm here is because John asked me to come.

Marlena: John? Why?

Lexie: He's very worried about you.

Marlena: John is worried about me?

Alex: Marlena is my wife. She is none of John's concern. And once we renew our wedding vows, he will be out of our lives forever.

Abe: I am not happy about this, John. You know, Lexie and I would do almost anything to help you and Marlena. But if this puts my wife's life at risk --

John: Lexie is a doctor, Abraham -- Marlena's doctor -- and, you know, she is the reason North is in our lives in the first place.

Abe: Lexie was just trying to help. She made that recommendation based on North's professional reputation. I mean, she had no way of knowing.

John: I know. What's done is done. Bottom line -- Lexie feels responsible for Marlena's treatment, especially after what happened last night.

Abe: [Chuckles] Well, let's talk about what happened last night.

John: Okay.

Abe: What the hell were you thinking -- breaking into Marlena's penthouse, hiding in her closet? Hadn't you stalked him enough for one day?

John: I wasn't stalking him. I was simply using my ISA training to get the evidence I needed against him.

John: North said he's going after Marlena next.

Tek: He admitted that?

John: Yeah, he came right out and said it. There was no one around to hear him, but he meant every word. That's why I busted into my own penthouse so I can stop him.

Tek: What happened when you got into the penthouse?

John: I realized there was something really wrong with Marlena. That's why I called Lexie -- to have her check her out.

Tek: What do you mean?

John: Marlena stopped me from leaving by saying she wanted me to spend the night with her. She called me John, said she loved me. Hell, I thought she got her memory back.

Tek: That sounds like great news.

John: Hold on. North came to the door to check in on her, and that's when things went south. She got all disoriented, started calling me Alex. Now we're right back to square one again.

Tek: What do you think happened?

John: I think North is drugging her, and now I'm hoping Lexie can prove it.

Belle: Honey, you've been on the phone since the end of the wedding rehearsal. What, radio contest or something?

Philip: No, I just got a lot of things to take care of. Hey.

Bonnie: Well, hey, yourself, there, sweetie.

Philip: Is everything ready?

Bonnie: Not yet, but it, uh, will be as soon as you get here.

Shawn D.: Well, Father Jansen, we're out of here. Thank you very much for everything, and I guess we'll see you tomorrow at the wedding.

Fr. Jansen: Oh, good. Then I take it Mimi told you the truth.

Shawn D.: The truth about what?

Mimi: What are you saying? You won't marry Shawn and me?

Fr. Jansen: I'm saying, Mimi, that marriage is based on honesty and trust. I can't allow you to stand before God in this church and take solemn vows until you tell Shawn the truth -- that he's the father of Belle's baby.

Fr. Jansen: About Claire.

Carrie: [Gasping] Some-- somebody... Lexie? Lexie, are you still here? Oh!

Alex: As I said before, Marlena is my wife, and I will not allow you to continue to be her doctor if you try to undermine her confidence in me. I thought we had an understanding, Dr. Carver.

Lexie: Of course. I'm just concerned about her health.

Alex: Likewise. Now, if I seem overprotective, please keep in mind it was Dr. Carver who prematurely pronounced, oh, about a dozen people dead, including you. Now, I don't mean to insult anyone. All I have on my mind is your health.

Lexie: Well, I am also the one who recommended that John bring in Dr. North to consult on your case. So if you want to question anyone's medical judgment, you might as well start there.

Marlena: Well, who am I to question anybody at all, for heaven's sakes? I'm glad you made a house call. That was very sweet.

Lexie: Thank you. So, how have you been feeling?

Marlena: I'm fine. I'm fine. I'm not -- I'm not sleeping terribly well, but...

Lexie: Has Alex North prescribed anything for you to take?

Marlena: No. No. I'm just taking an over-the-counter medication.

Lexie: Mind if I see the bottle?

Marlena: Not at all.

Lexie: Hmm. Did you take this as directed?

Marlena: Yes.

Lexie: And did it help you sleep?

Marlena: [Chuckles] Yes, I think so. I woke up a little groggy.

Lexie: Hmm. Um, I see.

Lexie: Dr. North, would you excuse us? I'd like to examine Marlena.

Alex: No. I am also a doctor, and I am perfectly capable of seeing to the welfare of my wife. Besides, she has already told you that she's feeling fine. Hmm? We both appreciate your concern. We both thank you for stopping by. And now I will see you out.

Lexie: Uh...

Marlena: I'll take care.

Lexie: All right. Okay.

Tek: Do you have any evidence that North is drugging Marlena?

John: Nope. He's a very clever, very careful man. Look, both of you would have thought the same thing if you would have seen the state Marlena was in. I'm telling you, I wanted to drag her out of there right then, take her to the hospital, and let somebody check her out. That's why I called Lexie. She thought that I would be putting Marlena's life in even more danger if North caught me in there.

Abe: So, how did you get out of Marlena's room, and are you sure Alex didn't know you were there?

Alex: Marlena, the door's locked. The -- Marlena? You need to talk to me.. If you don't open this door, I'm gonna be forced to break it down.

Lexie: If Alex killed you, there's not a jury in the world that would convict him, because he could prove that you broke into the penthouse and were in his wife's bedroom in the middle of the night.

Alex: All right. Marlena, I've got the key. I'm coming in.

John: I just hung out on the terrace until Alex left. Then I made sure Marlena was safe, and then I split.

Abe: [Scoffs] Damn it, John. You're an ISA Agent. You're better than this. You know, I know you're just trying to protect Marlena, but you've got to be careful. You're playing right into Alex's hands.

Philip: So you and Calliope got everything I wanted?

Bonnie: Well, Calliope and I had a little disagreement -- what a surprise -- but I think we worked things out. [Pounding] So you better get down here before Mimi and Shawn do.

Philip: We're on our way. Come on.

Shawn D.: Actually, we just had a long talk about Claire.

Mimi: We have a responsibility to Claire.

Shawn D.: Well, of course we do. We're her Godparents. That's a big responsibility. I hope, as she gets older, she knows that we'll always be there for her, almost like a second set of parents. I hope she sees us as people that she can always count on and trust.

Mimi: Shawn and I talked all about his responsibilities with Claire.

Shawn D.: Yeah, and I am fully prepared to live up to them.

Fr. Jansen: Even though you'll be married to Mimi?

Shawn D.: Of course.

Fr. Jansen: I'm surprised.

Shawn D.: I'm confused.

Fr. Jansen: It's just I-I wasn't sure that you'd be happy without your own child in your life, not that Claire isn't a part of your life now.

Shawn D.: Actually, uh, it took me a while to accept it, Father, but I love Mimi so much. It doesn't matter that we can't have our own children. You know that we are prepared to adopt, and we're gonna love our kids -- just as much as we love Claire.

Fr. Jansen: Well, just to make sure, then, you've discussed the situation and are agreed?

Shawn D.: Yes. Yes, we have.

Fr. Jansen: Well, then I give you my blessing, and I'll be proud to marry you tomorrow.

Sami: [Thinking] Carrie's my sister. I can't just stand here and do nothing. What if there's something really wrong?

Carrie: [Breathing heavily] It's gone. I'm back. It must have been cramps.

Sami: [Thinking] Thank God. Obviously Carrie's okay, so I am out of here. [ Thud]

Carrie: Is someone there?

Sami: Oh. Carrie. Hi. What are you doing here?

Carrie: Getting some air.

Sami: Oh, my God. You look terrible. Um, are you okay?

Carrie: [Exhales sharply] I am now. It must have been -- I had this cramp or something.

Sami: Oh, my God. Oh. I was walking, and I heard something -- someone moaning. Was that you? Oh, my God. You sounded like you were in terrible pain.

Carrie: I was. I -- I'm fine now.

Sami: Oh, my God. Well, we should take you to a doctor.

Carrie: No, no. I mean, I felt funny. I'm -- I'm okay now.

Sami: That's not good enough. Obviously there is something really wrong with you, and we should get you to a doctor. It could be something serious. Look, let's just go. I can't lose you now.

Carrie: Thanks. It means a lot to me that we're getting close again. And that's why I have to be completely honest with you.

Sami: About what?

Carrie: About Austin and me.

Abe: Damn it, John. You are too smart to let your emotions get the better of you. You know, you've got to stop giving Alex the chance to prove to Marlena that you are driven, obsessed, dangerous.

Tek: Abe's right.

Abe: What would happen if Alex had found you in Marlena's bedroom?

Lexie: That's exactly what I asked John last night.

Abe: Oh, thank God you're back.

John: How's Marlena?

Lexie: Uh, she seems to be -- excuse me -- doing fine.

John: And did you get the proof I need that will prove Alex North is drugging her?

Lexie: Alex wouldn't let me examine her.

John: And we wonder why.

Lexie: I don't think we should jump to any conclusions. I observed Marlena very closely while we were talking. Her pupils were reactive, her respiration was normal, and hands were steady. In other words, I didn't see any obvious signs that she was under the influence of any sort of psychoactive drug.

John: Maybe the signs aren't so obvious.

Lexie: I also asked Marlena if I could see the bottle of the sleeping pill that she took. It's a fairly mild over-the-counter drug. But in some people, it's known for having exactly the effects that you describe.

John: She was totally out of it. She wasn't just confused. What if North substituted another pill and Marlena just thought she was taking this mild over-the-counter remedy to help her sleep?

Lexie: Well, John, anything's possible, but the simplest explanation is the one that we already have. Marlena took a sleeping pill. It made her groggy and confused. And that's why she kissed you and called you Alex.

John: In other words, you're saying that it's possible that Marlena was so out of it that she didn't know it was me that she was kissing?

Lexie: I'm sorry. She probably really did think that she was kissing Alex.

John: [Scoffs] I don't believe this. [Sighs] Hell, I don't even know what to do anymore.

Abe: I'm gonna tell you what you're gonna do. You're gonna stay the hell away from her.

John: Abraham... put yourself in my shoes. What would you do if some son of a bitch was out to get Lexie? What would you do? Would you just force yourself to stay away from her while this son of a bitch stole your woman?

Alex: No, not at all.

Marlena: She was just here because she's concerned.

Alex: Mnh-mnh. She was here spying for John.

Alex: After we renew our vows, I have found the perfect place for our second honeymoon.

Marlena: Wow. Oh, it's beautiful.

Alex: Yes, it is. It's the perfect isolated hideaway. No one -- I mean no one -- will be able to find us. I have some very special plans for my bride-to-be, and I don't want anyone or anything to interrupt us.

Philip: Of course. Although I think it's probably time to get back to the other woman in my life, don't you think?

Shawn D.: Well, not quite yet. I know that tomorrow's gonna be very hectic and crazy, and I just kind of want to have a private celebration -- kind of like a rehearsal dinner -- just to thank you all for everything you've done for us. And most importantly, I'd like to propose a toast to my future wife, if that's all right.

Mimi: [Chuckles]

Shawn D.: It's amazing just to say... I am so excited to be your lifelong partner. And I promise to love you, and to honor you, to comfort and keep you in sickness and in health, forsaking all others, to always be faithful to you, as long as both of us shall live. And I say that all now in case Father Jansen talks too fast or I just pass out and forget what I'm supposed to say, so... that's how I feel.

Sami: But there's nothing you can do. He took your company, and he fired all your employees. You have made it clear that you don't want to have anything to do with him, and he's just gonna have to come to terms with the fact that you want to move on with your life..

Carrie: I do want to move on, but I --

Sami: I know how hard that is. I do, especially after everything I went through with Lucas. But at least you don't have a child. It's been so hard to watch will see me struggle to put my life back together.

Carrie: Sami, I know, and I wish that you and Lucas could get back together.

Sami: Lucas and I are finished. There's nothing I can do about that. Actually, Lucas and I had a conversation about you. He told me that he is interested in you and that he has really strong feelings for you, and I am okay with that. In fact, I want you both to be happy, just like I know you want me to be happy, and you said it was okay for me to have a future with Austin. It's not like you want both guys chasing after you, right? But I know you want me to be as happy as I want you to be.

Carrie: I do want you to be happy, Sami. I really do. But I need to be completely honest --

Sami: That's okay. Look, it's fine. I mean, I just, um, I don't want you to worry about it. I know you want me to be happy, and I know you wouldn't do anything to come between me and Austin. You are a great big sister. I'm so lucky to have you.

Alex: Long enough to forget about John, Lois, and all the other stressful things that have happened to us the past few months.

Alex: Well, she would still be with us if John hadn't given her that truth serum.

Marlena: I know. But she was so disturbed, and the only person she had to help her was you.

Alex: Speaking of Lois, take a look at this. It came while I was showing Lexie out.

Marlena: What is it?

Alex: It's a certified letter naming me Executor of her Estate. Of course, I'm not going to do it.

Marlena: Oh, you should. You should. Why not? I mean, you were her doctor, Alex, and...I feel just a wee bit guilty about my part in all this.

Alex: Why? Because John told you the only reason he gave her that truth serum was to save you?

Marlena: Uh-huh.

Alex: Well, that's nonsense. You told me yourself -- obsession can cause a man to commit some terrible crimes. It was John's irresponsibility that caused Lois' death -- his and his alone. You have nothing to blame yourself about.

Marlena: Thanks. I do think we should be responsible for her burial, though.

Alex: That's very generous of you, considering she tried to kill you.

Marlena: I wonder what we're meant to do with her belongings. She doesn't have any family. I suppose everything is still at that place where she was living, hmm?

Abe: I think you know the answer to that, John. If somebody was after Lexie, I wouldn't stop until I got that son of a bitch out of her life.

John: Then there's got to be a way to get to Alex North.

Tek: I don't see how, John. He's always one step ahead of you. In fact, every time you try to trip him up, you end up looking like the bad guy, right up to and including Lois Banks' death.

John: Tek, you and I both know that truth serum that I administered to Lois Banks did not drive her to commit suicide.

Tek: I know it didn't, and I went to bat for you on that.

Abe: I don't think it did, either. I think North killed her and staged the whole thing, but unfortunately we don't have any way to prove it.

John: Until now. Damn, what is the matter with me? Why didn't I think about this before?

Abe: What?

John: Abraham, I think there is a way for Lois Banks to tell us everything we need to know -- from the grave.

Abe: [Chuckles] You know, she may not be in the grave, John, but she is dead.

John: But her secrets are alive. Let's go.

Abe: Where?

John: You'll see. I think I'm gonna need your influence to get what we need.

Abe: Uh, you know, if North is getting suspicious, I-I don't want to leave Lexie alone.

Tek: Don't worry about it, Commander. I'll take care of your wife.

Lexie: No, no. That's fine.

Abe: Okay.

John: Excuse us.

Belle: Wow. Well, that seems like a pretty good reason not to call off the wedding.

Shawn D.: That isn't why I'm going through with the wedding. I love Mimi.. And you are married, and you have a child.

Shawn D.: Are over. So would you stop torturing us both by pretending that we're not? If you're not gonna be happy for the both of us, then I really don't want you there tomorrow at the wedding.
