Bonnie: You still need a dress, don't you? And I happen to have here some sketches that I think you're going to love, courtesy of Kate and Basic Black -- all designer originals, of course. Shawn, honey, want to come over and take a look at these?

Shawn D.: No, you know what? That's okay. Why don't I step out, let you two do your thing?

Alex: Well, thank you. I just couldn't stop thinking about poor Lois. I know she was a threat to you -- she tried to kill you. But still, she was a very sick woman, and I just have this feeling that as her former doctor, I've -- thank you. I've failed her somehow.

Marlena: Well, you couldn't have known what was going to happen. You couldn't have guessed what John was going to do. I know it isn't how you feel, but you said yourself -- John giving her that truth serum was clearly what put her right over the edge.

Alex: Of course it was. But still, I should have suspected that he was going to try something. I mean, the man will do anything to be with you. He's obsessed. And obsession can lead a person to madness.

Marlena: It can also lead a person into committing a terrible kind of crime. The little I remember of my psychiatry, I remember that those people can fool anybody -- family, friends, even a trained professional. I would no more have suspected John of that sort of behavior than I would have suspected you of it.

Jennifer: It was an accident, but she shouldn't have been driving that car.

Chelsea: Yeah, but I think the truth just made it worse for everybody. I mean, not that I don't think that I'm the one that's responsible, because I know that I am, I just -- I just have to live with what I did for the rest of my life. Speaking of which, um, Frankie, I was wondering if I could talk to you about my case. You're still planning on representing me, I hope?

Frankie: Of course.

Jennifer: Someone's pulling up. Excuse me. Oh, gosh, it's Hope.

Chelsea: Great.

Jennifer: Would you guys mind talking in the kitchen? Hope is upset enough right now. She doesn't need to see you.

Frankie: That's a good idea. Come on, Chelsea, let's get you some coffee..

Bo, we've got to get your clothes off so you can get some sleep, okay?

Frankie: He or she will want to do right by the family, yes. And that can mean serious jail time.

Chelsea: Well, what if Bo is on my side?

Frankie: That would help. But I wouldn't count on that. I know he loves you, but he also loves Hope and Zack. And if he's forced to choose sides, I'm afraid he's not gonna take yours.

Chelsea: We'll just see about that.

Hope: I did.

Jennifer: Hope, you cannot do this. The two of you need each other more than ever right now.

Hope: I feel sick just looking at him. Believe me, it's better this way -- especially after what happened last night. I just couldn't take it anymore.

Jennifer: What happened?

Hope: Patrick brought me home from the grave, which was very kind of him, and he stayed with me for a little while just to make sure that I was okay. Next thing I knew, Bo came barging in like a crazy person, verbally attacking him, just like he did at the funeral. He was completely out of control. It was horrible.

Jennifer: Yes, because he is grief-stricken. He is beside himself and so are you, and he is afraid of losing you, too.

Hope: He lost me... the minute I found out that he lied about Zack's death. I can never forgive him for that.

Jennifer: Don't say that.

Hope: I don't see how I could ever take him back ever.

John: North is just twisting everything around, as usual, to his own advantage. I'll give him credit, though. He's good. But I can stop him -- just got to get out of here, first.

Kate: Well, Frankie's taking care of that, right?

John: Yeah, he's got court time this morning. I'm sure he'll get the bail, I'll be free, and then Alex North is history. I'm gonna make sure Marlena knows the truth about that freak once and for all.

Kate: Well, I don't think it's going to be as easy as you think.

John: Why would you say that? Oh, my God.

Alex: I just hope that now you realize how disturbed John really is. I mean, not only is he responsible for Lois' death, but if things had gone the way he intended, I'd be in jail right now for murder.

Marlena: Thank God he never got away with it.

Alex: But still, Lois had to pay the price.

Marlena: And I was married to him, that I trusted him.

Alex: Well, he was a mercenary for Stefano DiMera -- a hired killer. Deep down inside he is immune to human suffering. No matter how hard he tries to put that part of his life behind him, he can't do it. Now, I know that this is probably difficult for you to hear.. And even though you can't remember it, the man was married to you, and I'm sure that he was kind to you. But he has changed. Or should I say he's changed back, reverted to type?

Marlena: I'd still be married to him if you hadn't come along.

Alex: Well, you're not married to him. You won't be with him. You are going to be with me forever.

Marlena: You're right. Let's not talk about John anymore, okay? Let's talk about, oh, I know, let's talk about you. Let's talk about our future together.

Alex: I'm glad you brought that up, because there's something I want you to see. Newspaper article -- today's paper.

Chelsea: Is that true? Because you know the only way you really can. Mom, you have to split up Bo and Hope. She's out for blood -- my blood. And the only chance I have is if you and dad are together. If you are, then you can convince him to take my side -- to protect me and keep me out of jail. Mom? Are you there?

Billie: Yeah, I'm here. I just -- I can't talk right now. I don't want to wake up your dad.

Chelsea: What? He's with you? Where are you?

Billie: He got upset last night, understandably, and had a little bit too much to drink. I got him a room to sleep it off.

Chelsea: You guys spent the night together?

Billie: Chelsea, I slept in a chair.

Chelsea: In a chair? Mom, what were you thinking? This is your chance to finally be with the man you love. And this is my chance, too, to have my parents back together, finally.

Billie: Listen, I got to go, okay? I'll call you later.

Hope: Jen, I know. But this is a completely different situation. Jack died in a tragic, tragic accident. He didn't betray you and your trust in him.

Jennifer: I know that. I'm not saying what Bo did was right, but he loves you. He loves you. He never meant to hurt you. I'm sure of that. So you need to figure out a way to forgive him because the two of you need each other. You have lost so much already.

Penny: Well, I know he was in that bar fight last night.

Hope: Bar fight?

Penny: You didn't know?

Hope: No. I guess Bo failed to mention it.

Penny: Well, the guys who took the call didn't arrest him, so that's good. I guess they knew what a hard day it'd been. Everyone on the force, we're all so sorry for your loss.

Hope: Thank you.

Penny: If there's anything I can do...

Hope: Can you tell me if Bo was hurt in the fight?

Penny: I wasn't there. I only heard from the guys on the scene. They said some woman took him home. I thought it was you.

Hope: No, no. It wasn't me.

Penny: I'm sorry. I hope I haven't said something I shouldn't have.

That is why you need to go to him -- you need to talk to him and not make some decision you're gonna end up regretting the rest of your life.

Hope: Now who could it be? Hello? Yes, this is Hope Brady. Is there a problem? Excuse me? Which motel? No, I'm sure that my husband made the charge, but thank you ever so much for calling and checking. Thanks. That was the credit-card company, calling to verify a charge at the Parkway Budget Motel. That's where Bo spent the night. The No-Tell Motel.

Jennifer: Okay, so -- so he stayed the night in a motel. He had to sleep somewhere.

Hope: Somewhere like that?

Jennifer: I don't know, but I think you're reading into this. But you know where he is. So, we're gonna get some coffee, and we're gonna go over there, and you're gonna talk to him.

Hope: What if he is with Billie?

Jennifer: He's not with Billie.

Hope: I'll never forget that he was more concerned about her and Chelsea when our son died than he was about me.

Jennifer: That's not true. Bo made a mistake, but there is no way that he cares about Billie more than he cares about you. Now, I am taking you over there right now. We're going to the motel, and you're gonna see that he is not with Billie.
