Lucas: It's no secret that I'm in love with Carrie, all right?
Kate: [Sighs]
Lucas: Come on, mom, I've felt that way ever since I was a little kid. Maybe that's why I fell in love with Sami the way I did -- because I couldn't have her big sister.
Kate: Oh, come on. That's ridiculous. Carrie certainly treated Austin badly. I mean, she ran off with Mike, and she broke Austin's heart.
Lucas: Yeah, well, obviously he's forgiven her for that. You should have seen it. Things were going so good for us in L.A. It was great, and then Austin showed up and ruined everything.
Kate: Are you going to fight Austin for Carrie?
Lucas: No, I'm too much of a gentleman for that. If Austin wants Carrie, fine. I'm not gonna get in his way. But if you're concerned about Austin's happiness, I'm not the one you got to worry about.
****************************************************************
Sami: I've got to find a way to play it to make Austin look as bad as possible in front of Carrie.
[Teapot whistling]
Sami: All right, all right. [Sighs] Okay, well, Carrie is the CEO of a company that's about to be taken over and she has no idea. And Austin has no idea that Carrie's the CEO of the company he's about to destroy. I'll have some tea. All right, what have we got? English breakfast, rose hips, peppermint. God, I hate the idea of lying to Austin. I mean, I can't tell him or else he'll back out of the takeover, and that will be the end of our company at this point. So I just have to play dumb. I mean, I have to pretend like I don't know anything. Then the damage will be done before Austin knows what he did to Carrie -- basically, destroy her life. But that will be the end of Austin and Carrie forever.
Sami’s Voice: And here we have another major mistake from Sami Brady.
Sami: Who said that? No, no, not you again.
Sami’s Voice: It has been way too long, but you can't be trusted to handle your own life. You are out of control.
Sami: I am not listening to my reflection in the mirror. It's totally crazy.
Sami’s Voice: Look, you crazy bitch, if you don't listen to me, you can kiss Austin goodbye.
****************************************************************
Austin: [Laughing] It's so weird. We haven't talked in so long. I show up in Salem, and you show up to spend the holidays with your family.
Carrie: Well, that's not the only reason I came home.
Austin: Did you tell everyone about your breakup with Mike?
Carrie: I'm breaking it to them, one by one. I thought it would be better in person rather than on the phone, or worse -- in an e-mail.
Austin: Oh, yeah, e-mail sucks when you're trying to say something really important.
Carrie: That's why I decided to face the music in person.
Austin: You mean with me?
Carrie: I...was really worried about seeing you, Austin.
****************************************************************
Marlena: Are you all right?
Lois: Just keep him away from me, please.
John: No problem.
Alex: It's not what it looks like. She tripped over the sofa.
John: I guess you were trying to help her up -- kind of like putting out those burning embers on Marlena's clothes, right? You know, for a habitual liar, your lies are pretty lame.
Alex: These weren't lies. I am telling the truth.
Lois: You were trying to hurt me for showing Marlena those photographs.
Alex: What do you think you're doing? You have no authority to do this.
John: I'm ISA. Just shut the hell up.
Alex: You're gonna feel awfully stupid when you find out the truth.
John: The only time I felt stupid is when I let you take my wife up to that isolated cabin. Dr. Banks, you want to press charges?
Alex: What charges?
Lois: Yes, yes, I do!
Alex: [Sighs loudly]
****************************************************************
[Telephone beeps on]
John: I've got a collar for you.
Roman: Is it who I hope it is?
John: You know it is. Got evidence, too. Charges against North will stick.
Roman: All right, good. Good, we'll be waiting for him.
[Telephone beeps off]
****************************************************************
Alex: The only violence here is being perpetrated by you. Marlena, don't let him do this.
Marlena: Alex...
John: Marlena's not the one pressing charges, pal. Dr. Banks, you ready? They'll need your statement down at the station. Let's go.
Alex: [Grunts]
John: I'll call you as soon as I get him booked.
Marlena: Alex... [Exhales deeply]
****************************************************************
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of Our Lives.
****************************************************************
Marlena: Alex...
Marlena: [Gasps]
John: What do you got?
Marlena: Was a police report filed on this?
Lois: No.
Marlena: Why not?
Lois: You wouldn't let me turn him in. Classic battered-wife syndrome. You kept letting him off the hook, and each time he hurt you. Oh, he always came back -- sometimes in tears -- with some excuse, begging forgiveness, telling you why you couldn't desert him, why you had to stay.
John: You lousy son of a bitch.
Marlena: How did I get away?
Lois: By the time I convinced you to leave Alex, he was declared dead.
John: Let me see that. My God. How could you do this to the most loving, caring, trusting person I've ever known? You deserve to be locked up.
Lois: I couldn't agree more. Marlena... it's time you realized Alex is not who he says he is. He's a monster. If he did this to you once, he'll do it again.
Alex: Those pictures aren't what they seem. I didn't do that to you.
Marlena: No. Alex would never hurt me. Dr. Banks seemed so completely terrified. There must be some misunderstanding. He would never have attacked that woman. He's innocent. No, he'd never do those things.
****************************************************************
John: Roman.
Roman: Officer Jones, take him into my office.
Lois: Before you do that, there's something I'd like to say to Alex.
Alex: Well, I hope you're going to say that you've made a terrible mistake and that you're sorry.
Lois: No, not quite. These are my parting words to you. You're finally getting what you so richly deserve.
Roman: All right, Officer Jones.
Jones: Come on.
Roman: All right, John, what's the story? Who do we have here?
John: Dr. Lois Banks. North attacked her at the penthouse.
Roman: Is that true?
Lois: Oh, yes, definitely. He was enraged when I showed Marlena the pictures.
Roman: Pictures? What pictures?
John: North did this to her.
Roman: My God.
Lois: Not only did he beat her then, if he gets the chance to be alone with her again, he'll kill her. I'm sure of it.
Roman: Well, as much as I personally want to go in there and bust his head open, I have to follow procedure. Was there a police report filed with these photographs?
Lois: No, there was not. I tried, but Marlena wouldn't let me call the police, at first. By the time I finally convinced her to file charges, Alex was declared dead, so we both thought the danger to her was over. Of course, it's clearly not if Alex still has access to Marlena.
Roman: All right, where's Doc now?
John: She's all right. She's at the penthouse.
Roman: Okay, Officer Conway, make sure we get this victim's statement on record.
Conway: This way, ma'am.
Roman: Damn it, John. How in the hell could he do this to her?
John: Well, the thing is he's still denying everything, even when based in front of him with those photographs.
Roman: Well, let's just go in, and see what he has to say for himself. All right, Officer Jones, thank you.
Jones: Okay.
Roman: All right, North. Enough of this, all right? We want the truth. No more games.
Alex: I'm not the one playing games, and if either one of you cares as much about Marlena as you say you do, you will listen to what I have to say.
****************************************************************
Kate: Well, you sure don't have to draw me a map because obviously it's Sami. She can't have you so she's going to go after Austin again. She's gonna ruin his life. Well, she needs to be stopped permanently.
Lucas: Enough. Don't talk like that around me, all right? Just leave it alone.
Kate: How can I help it? How can I help it? I told you, didn't I? Told you that she was gonna break you heart, and that's exactly what she did. Why can't she just leave my sons alone, let them live their own lives?
Lucas: Why can't you? You got to have a little more trust in the universe, mom. I know it's hard for you. Your whole life, you've had to fight. You've had to fight to protect your children. You had to fight and scratch to get revenge, and that's what Sami does, mom. There's a big similarity between the two, and it's starting to weird me out a little bit.
Kate: Please, please, don't even say that, okay?
Lucas: If Carrie and Austin are supposed to be together, that's the way it's supposed to be. All right, then let it happen. I can't be concerned with it. I can't live my life that way. It's a lot easier for me if I just don’t.
Kate: Look, I'm sorry, okay? I know you're really disappointed about Carrie.
Lucas: You know what? I'm disappointed in love -- with Carrie, with Sami.. Every time -- every time I put my heart on the line, it just gets kicked around.
Kate: Is there anything I can do to help?
Lucas: No. Please, don't help me any more than you already have. You paid Nicole $5 million to marry me. That didn't boost my confidence, mom. Now I hate Sami more than I love her. I don't want to do this. Forget it. Please. I'm alone now. That's the way it should be. And I'm okay with it. I am.
Kate: Of course you're okay. Why wouldn't you be okay? You're creative, you're funny, you're gorgeous. Any woman would want you. [Cellphone rings] Ooh, sorry.
Lucas: No, it's fine. You're a businesswoman. Take it. I understand.
Kate: Oh, honey. It's the Tokyo office. I have to get back to them. It's gonna take a few minutes. Can I -- in your bedroom?
Lucas: Yeah, use my bedroom. Fine.
****************************************************************
[Doorbell rings]
[Sighs]
Eugenia: Hey.
Lucas: Hey.
Eugenia: Okay, word on the street is that Austin's company is gonna take over Highstyle at any minute. He's gonna wipe Carrie Brady right off the map.
****************************************************************
Austin: What happened between us -- that was awhile ago. You know? You don't have to be nervous about seeing me.
Carrie: [Exhales deeply] That's very considerate of you, considering the last time we saw each other.
Austin: You left me for another guy. I wasn't exactly cheery.
Carrie: And I made you feel like it was all your fault. I guess I acted the way I did because I knew in my heart what I was doing was wrong -- breaking up my marriage, cheating on my husband. I'm still so ashamed of the way I treated you.
Austin: It takes two to break up a marriage. I wasn't there for you when I should have been. I was trying to be a hero helping Sami.
Carrie: But she was on the run from the law and she needed your help, and instead of understanding that, I made it an excuse to have an affair.
Austin: You were attracted to Mike way before all that.
Carrie: So what? I mean, now that I've grown up a little bit, I realize people are attracted to other people. It's human nature. But it's what you choose to do about it. That's the thing. And...I made a huge mistake, and I've never been able to forgive myself.
Austin: Well, you know, there's something I haven't been able to forgive myself for.
Carrie: You didn't do anything wrong.
Austin: Oh, yeah. Yeah, I did. I lost you. I totally...wimped out. I could have fought a lot harder to hold onto you.
Carrie: Do you ever wonder -- I mean, do you ever regret that our marriage didn't work out?
Austin: Every day.
Carrie: Me too.
Austin: So, um, how long you been back in the States anyway?
Carrie: Not that long. Right now, I'm based out of L.A.
Austin: You're kidding. Okay, wait, wait, wait. I was just out in L.A. for business. This is gonna make me sound completely crazy, and it's been driving me crazy, but, okay, I was at the Stones concert when I was out there, and I thought I saw you there.
Carrie: You're not crazy. I was there.
Austin: You were at the concert? [Exhales deeply] So that was you up on the screen?
Carrie: [Chuckles] Yeah, that was me.
Austin: Whew. Wow, I even thought I heard you calling my name.
Carrie: I can't explain that. That wasn't me.
Austin: So you didn't see me? Well, of course, I mean, it was like a mob scene. How could you see me?
Carrie: Actually, Austin, I did see you.
Austin: You did see me? You did? Well, why didn't you come and say hi or something? Sami. Sami.
****************************************************************
Sami: Why are you back all of a sudden? I mean, this is a really lousy time for me to develop a conscience.
Sami’s Voice: Look, Sami, you have a real chance here. Austin has made you a part of his company. He has given you that fresh start that you wanted, and I know you really mean it when you say that you want that fresh start, but what are you doing? You are starting to climb that slippery slope of lies again not telling Austin that Carrie is the CEO of Highstyle?
Sami: Wait a second, that is Nicole's job in L.A. It is not my fault that she can't do it right.
Sami’s Voice: You cannot blame this on Nicole, Sami. You know that Carrie is the CEO that Austin is about to destroy. And you know that it's gonna almost kill them both, and you think somehow it's gonna win you points with Austin? That he's gonna fall madly in love with you? Are you certifiably insane?
Sami: Look, I have been trying to be good, okay? I promised Austin and my dad that I would turn over a new leaf for real this time. Well, then turn it, damn it, before you destroy all of those lives.
Sami: Why should I? Every time I try, nothing happens. I mean, what about me? Don't I deserve to hit the jackpot for once? I mean, Carrie had her chance. She got to marry Austin, and she screwed it up all on her own. It is not my fault that she had an affair with Mike Horton.
Sami’s Voice: You sure know how to waste my time, don't you? It doesn't matter what happened in the past. Carrie's still in love with Austin. And even though she broke his heart when she left, Austin is still in love with Carrie.
Sami: God, it's not fair.
Sami’s Voice: Well, welcome to reality, Sami. Life's not fair. But I can tell you what is really bad karma -- for you to try to take love that does not belong to you. So why don't you get your rear in gear and tell Austin that Carrie is the CEO of Highstyle?
Sami: I will not, and there is nothing you can do to make me, so just go away!
****************************************************************
Marlena: [Sighs] If only I could remember my past, maybe I could defend Alex.
Alex: Here you go. Open it. I've been waiting for just the right moment to give you this.
Marlena: Ooh. Oh, they're lovely. [Giggles]
Alex: [Clears throat] May I?
Marlena: Oh, sure. Here. Here.
Alex: Here we go.
Marlena: Ah! Ah! Oh! Oh! Oh!
Marlena: [Panting] What if it's true? What if Lois Banks is right about Alex?
****************************************************************
Roman: I'm not listening to any more of your lies, North. You're the only danger to Marlena, and you can't hurt her anymore.
Alex: I am not a threat to Marlena. Lois Banks, on the other hand --
John: Of course you blame Lois Banks. That's your M.O., isn't it? She's the one filing charges, so she's got to be the villain, huh? Well, I'm sorry, pal, but you're not gonna pin any of your crimes on Lois Banks or anybody else. You've been getting away with this sick behavior for too long, but it's gonna end right now because with you in a lockup, at least my wife will be safe.
Alex: You're wrong. I'm not a predator. Banks is. I didn't say anything at the penthouse because I thought you were a part of this whole phony setup, but she has a personal vendetta against Marlena and me.
John: You were attacking her. Don't give me that crap about you just helping her up.
Alex: That's what happened.
John: I don't know why we're even listening to this clown.
Alex: Because I'm telling you the truth!
****************************************************************
Austin: Of course, why the hell would you come near me at the concert, seeing that I was with Sami? Believe me. There is nothing going on with her. I made her prove herself to me as a businesswoman. That's it. That's as far as our relationship goes.
Carrie: I'm glad for you. Ooh. That was mean.
Austin: No.
Carrie: I really do want us to be real sisters who go shopping together, talk on the phone, babysit each other's kids.
Austin: Well, will doesn't need a babysitter anymore, and you don't have kids, so...
Carrie: It's all a fantasy anyway. After everything Sami and I have been through, it's pretty difficult to forgive and forget, even after all these years. And...if things go the way I hope they do, my relationship with Sami could get a lot tougher.
Austin: I guess.
Carrie: She must have been making a play for you.
Austin: Oh, you know, it's a reflex for Sami.
Carrie: [Chuckles] She was obsessed with you when she was a kid. I don't think she ever grew out of it.
Austin: I don't pay attention. I made her promise that if I gave her this job that she would have to behave herself.
Carrie: How's that working?
Austin: We're not all the way there yet.
[Both laugh] But things are getting better.
[Chuckles]
Carrie: Okay, enough talking about Sami.
Austin: Yes.
Carrie: I'm interested in your new business. I hear you're gonna take what you learned at Permalash and you're planning to take it straight to the top -- bigger than Basic Black, bigger than Titan, even. Is that right?
Austin: Well, you know, I'm not at liberty to discuss what I'm working on right now.
Carrie: Oh, "not at liberty"? Must be big.
Austin: I hope so. I'm about to make an announcement real soon. Maybe you could celebrate with me.
Carrie: Maybe.
Austin: So what are you doing out in L.A.?
Carrie: Um, I'm heading a small company. You've probably never heard of it, but I'm really proud of what we're doing, learning a lot, and it's pretty much been my whole life recently.
Austin: Wow, your whole life. Well, maybe we can change all that. It's getting cold out here. Uh...would you like to spend New Year's Eve with me? And we can continue to get to know each other again?
Carrie: I'd like that.
****************************************************************
Lucas: Do me a favor. You got to keep your voice down.
Eugenia: I didn't know anybody else was here. Do you have a babe stashed in the bedroom?
Lucas: That babe is my mother, all right? I don't want her to know what I'm up to.
Eugenia: Oh, okay, well, I can understand that 'cause your mom's a...
Lucas: A what?
Eugenia: A great spy.
Lucas: Yeah.
Eugenia: You, on the other hand, must be feeling pretty good about yourself, sticking it to your big brother.
Lucas: Eugenia Willens, I have no idea what you're talking about.
Eugenia: [Laughs] Yeah, you can play dumb if you want to, but I do know what I'm talking about, and my contact over at the bank told me that the takeover's ready to roll, that there's no stopping it.
Lucas: So all the papers are signed?
Eugenia: Sealed and about to be delivered. Carrie Brady's the CEO of Highstyle, all right, for another few minutes.
Lucas: Yeah. I just hate the fact she has to get hurt in the process.
Eugenia: Yeah, that's sad. It is...for Carrie and Austin. But you must be feeling pretty good about yourself. You know, you have a thing for Carrie, and she's into Austin, but as soon as his company takes over Highstyle, he won't be her style anymore. And then you can just walk right in and then pick up the pieces of her broken heart. Am I right? Am I right? I know I'm right.
Lucas: You're a little right. The thought crossed my mind a couple times..
Eugenia: Yeah, I got to give it to you. You played this one really clean.. There are no Titan fingerprints on anything. And now I understand why you were so anxious to drop the takeover. Yeah. The bad part is we didn't get Highstyle. The good part is you might get Carrie into your bed.
****************************************************************
Kate: I don't believe it.
Eugenia: Kate.
Lucas: [Clears throat]
****************************************************************
Sami: This is not impossible. I just have to find the right way.
Sami’s Voice: Sami, hello? You're going to lose.
Sami: No.
Sami’s Voice: Yes, and now you're gonna get seven more years of bad luck for breaking this mirror. Like you could use more bad luck.
Sami: Shut up! Shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up. [Sighs] Look, I am not superstitious, not anymore. And I know you think that I can never learn, but you're wrong. I have learned. I am not gonna lose Austin, not this time. I dreamt about him since I was a teenager, and those dreams never came true. But this time, they will. They finally will. All I have to do is keep my mouth shut about Carrie being the CEO of Highstyle, and by the time Austin finds out the truth, it will be too late.
****************************************************************
Austin: [Laughs] Okay, well, I just have to make one phone call, and then we can plan what we're gonna do tonight.
Carrie: Sounds good.
Austin: Really?
Carrie: Mm-hmm.
Austin: It is so good to see you.
Carrie: You too.
Austin: You know, it must be fate -- us reconnecting like this. I'm really glad.
****************************************************************
John: North, I haven't believed a word you said since you got to Salem, so I'm sure as hell not gonna start now.
Alex: If you don't believe me, you're putting Marlena's life in danger.
Roman: Aw, don't pull that crap, North. We're gonna make damn sure that you don't hurt Marlena again. That's why we're gonna lock you up.
Alex: Well, you go ahead. You lock me up. You just make sure she's not left unprotected or the two of you will regret it the rest of your lives.
John: Knock off the double-talk. What are you trying to do?
Alex: Save Marlena's life. And if you don't do what I say, she won't live until tomorrow.
****************************************************************
[Telephone rings]
Marlena: Alex?
John: Nope. John.
Marlena: Oh. John. Uh, how is Alex doing?
John: He's fine. They don't torture prisoners at the Salem P.D.
Marlena: I was just concerned about him, that's all. Why did you call?
John: I realized I shouldn't have rushed out of there, leaving you all alone.
Marlena: I'm fine.
John: That's good. That's good. Do me a favor, will you?
Marlena: What is it?
John: Don't open the door to anyone until I get back there. Would you do that for me?
Marlena: Why? Is there something wrong?
John: I'd just feel better about it. That's all. Trust me on this one. Don't open the door to anyone.
Marlena: Well, so far nobody has rung the bell, knocked on the door, or called on the phone, except you.
John: Good. I'll talk to you soon.
Marlena: [Exhales deeply]
[Doorbell rings] What are you doing back here, Lois?
****************************************************************
Lucas: It's not what you think.
Kate: I still can't believe you hired this two-faced witch to work for you.
Eugenia: Nice to see you, too, Kate, old partner, old pal.
Kate: Oh, don't "old partner, old pal" me, you turncoat.
Lucas: You know what? Stop it. Eugenia has the ability to tell the truth -- something you don't posses, mom. And you know what? You're lucky I'm talking to you after what you've done to me, the way you hurt me in the past.
Kate: The way I protected you, Lucas.
Lucas: It doesn't matter. It's the same thing, all right? Now, Eugenia is a very good assistant. We've been working very well together actually.
Eugenia: I actually came over tonight to ask for a raise.
Kate: Oh, and foolishly, I'm sure my son will give it to you.
Lucas: You know what? You're better stop with the insults, or I will deny you access to your grandchild.
Kate: Okay, fine, fine. I'm the bad guy, Eugenia's wearing the white hat, at least for this evening, but let me tell you underneath that white hat is a lying, conniving, conversation-taper. She probably has a mini-recorder on her right now.
Eugenia: [Scoffs]
Kate: But don't listen to me. Why would you believe me? I'm just your mother.
Lucas: Well, it's because you haven't been honest with me lately, have you?
Kate: [Sighs]
Eugenia: You know what you need, Kate? Besides a man, that is.
Kate: Okay, that's it. I'm out of here.
Eugenia: No, you really do need to get over me taping our conversation.
Kate: Oh, my God. You blackmailed me.
Eugenia: We did a bad thing to Lucas.
Kate: All right.
Eugenia: We did. We did a bad thing to Sami, too, even though I hate her guts and I really do wish that she would just die a slow, painful death.
Lucas: You know what? Enough of that, please.
Eugenia: I do. But that's beside the point. The fact of the matter is those tapes were never supposed to see the light of day. I only made them for insurance because I knew that you would turn on me. And when you didn't come through with that job that you promised me, well, yeah, I decided at that point that it would be a good time to get even. But Lucas here, he gave me a job -- a good job with benefits and profit sharing. And he's about to give me a raise.
Lucas: Eugenia, let's not get carried away with this, okay?
Eugenia: Nothing major, just cost-of-living and a little something extra for when that girl needs a special pair of new shoes every once in awhile.
Lucas: Shoes, huh? I guess Titan could spring for that. No problem.
Kate: Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Fire her. Fire her immediately.
Lucas: Mom, you know the way out.
Kate: Lucas!
Lucas: I've had it. Forget it, okay? I didn't hire Eugenia. Victor did. I wish I could take the credit, but I can’t. Now, you won't mind if I talk like this in front of you, will you?
Eugenia: Hey, go right ahead. I have the job now.
Lucas: Look, I had issues about working with Eugenia because she helped you break up me and Sami.
Eugenia: Okay, that was the first time, but the second time, that was all Sami.
Lucas: Well, not quite. My mom was involved with that, too, wasn't she? Eugenia has been a great asset to me. This resourceful young lady is gonna help me get everything I deserve.
****************************************************************
Sami: [Clears throat]
Carrie: Hello, Sami.
Austin: Did that information come that I was waiting for?
Sami: No. Nothing's come yet. Sorry.
****************************************************************
[Cellphone rings]
Austin: Ah. Remember that phone call that I was talking about?
Carrie: Yeah, go for it.
Austin: All right. Yeah, thanks. Yeah, hey.
****************************************************************
Sami: [Chuckles nervously]
Carrie: Okay.
Sami: Okay.
Carrie: So...what was that about?
Sami: I just think it would be nice if we could move on, you know? I mean, we're sisters, and people say that's a special bond.
Carrie: It can be, yeah.
Sami: When we were kids, I mean, when we were little kids, I used to follow you around. I wanted to be like you and dress like you and do everything that you did. Do you remember all that?
Carrie: Of course I do.
Sami: I'd like to be like that again.
Carrie: [Chuckles]
Sami: I know. I didn't mean it like that. I'm not saying we should jump into some close relationship or anything. I just thought we could talk, you know? Go to lunch and get to know each other again, or is that just stupid?
Carrie: No. I'm glad to hear you say those things. But I don't think we can be close unless we're up-front with each other. Do you agree?
Sami: Sure.
Carrie: Okay. Well, I'm only gonna be in town for a short visit, and I think you should hear it from me before you hear it from someplace else. Because this could be the deal-breaker for you. I'm interested in Austin.
****************************************************************
Eugenia: [Chuckles] Wow, you actually stood up to your mother.
Lucas: Yeah, something I should have done a long time ago. It felt pretty good, too.
Eugenia: You stood up for me, too. People don't normally do that.
Lucas: I guess I've seen a side of you that people don't normally see.
Eugenia: [Chuckles] Okay, what side is that? Flatter me.
Lucas: Well, you're hardworking, and you never give up. I respect that.
Eugenia: Hey, you don't get what you want if you give up.
Lucas: Nope.
Eugenia: Which we kind of gave up on this Highstyle account. I really believe that we could have cut Austin and his dumb blondes off at the knees.
Lucas: Yeah, you're probably right, but we still got Countess Wilhelmina.. We still got Clear Visage. And you know what? Best of all?
Eugenia: Hit me!
Lucas: We are gonna hit my brother where it hurts -- in the heart.
Eugenia: That's right.
Lucas: Yep. When Austin realizes that he stole Carrie's company, she's gonna be heartbroken, and he won't be able to fix it.

Austin: No, no, that's one piece of the puzzle that's still missing. I haven't been able to find out who the CEO is, let alone talk to her. I mean, I really have tried. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I just hate going through with this without at least giving the person a heads-up. Yeah, well, that's life, I guess. Anyway, it looks like all systems are go.
Sami: Well, I kind of figured that seeing the two of you together just now.
Carrie: I know it's gonna be hard for you, and I wish so much that it could be different.
Sami: What do you mean?
Carrie: I know you want Austin for yourself.
Sami: [Scoffs]
Carrie: I overheard you talking to the ladies' attendant in the L.A. restaurant saying that you were going after Austin.
Sami: Wait a second, you were spying on me?
Carrie: No, I wasn't spying on you. I just happened to be there. Call it fate or whatever.
Sami: I don't believe this.
Carrie: I -- I was the woman with the shoes, remember? It was so weird. What are the odds? I mean, of all the restaurants in L.A... anyway, I've said it. I'm interested in Austin. I told you.
Sami: Well, I think you should go for it. He's all yours.
Carrie: What did you say?
Sami: I said he's all yours. I can bow out gracefully. I mean, I think Austin's more interested in you, anyway. Who am I kidding? He always has been. Ever since I was a teenager with a crush and a dream to be with Austin, I've learned the hard way that my dreams don't come true. They just don’t. [Clears throat]
Austin: Yeah, I'll e-mail that to you right now. Okay.
Sami: Well, we're older now and wiser, I hope. And, um, I mean, it's pretty obvious that Austin loves you.
Carrie: I don't think --
Sami: Obviously that's probably why things didn't work out with you and Mike, right? I mean, it's clear that your heart still belongs to Austin. And so I think you two were meant to be together, not like I know what that feels like.
Carrie: Come on, Sami. There is a guy for you -- a perfect guy who is gonna be all yours.
Sami: So we're gonna be huggy kind of sisters, huh?
Carrie: It's not so bad. Thanks for being honest with me. It means a lot..
Sami: Yeah, well, I guess I just feel that nothing should stand in the way of true love.

Alex: I demand to see an attorney.
Roman: Just calm down. You'll get your chance.
Alex: Did you talk to Marlena?
John: She's safe and sound at the penthouse, and you're about to be locked up, so she's got nothing to worry about.
Alex: Damn it, how many times do I have to tell you people --
Roman: You don't push your weight around in here. It's my territory. Get in there.
Alex: I'm not the one you have to worry about. It's Lois Banks.
****************************************************************
Marlena: I'm surprised you came here after what happened tonight.
Lois: I-I'm so sorry, I just didn't know where else to go, and [Chuckles nervously] I'm easily frightened, and giving my statement to the police, it just brought everything back to me. May I come in? I-I know you don't remember me, Marlena, but we were such close friends. It would mean so much to me if we could just spend a little time together. Perhaps it might even jog your memory.
Marlena: Well, I'm under strict orders not to let anybody come in.
Lois: Someone told you not to let me in?
Marlena: No, not you specifically, just anybody.
Lois: Marlena, we were best friends. In all these years, I've never found another woman to feel this close to. Please let me in. Can't you see I-I'm shaking? I'm really scared.
Marlena: I guess it's all right.
****************************************************************
Hope: I don't know what I'd do if something happened to one of our kids.
Bo: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Nothing's gonna happen.
****************************************************************
Shawn D.: Will you marry me?
****************************************************************
Marlena: Alex just warned me. He said that you were some kind of a threat. Why did he say that?

Lexie: It's time for you to consider taking her off life support.
