Chloe: This has been really wonderful, being here with you. I just wish we could stay here forever. But I know that we can’t.

Roman: I'm sorry, Bo, yes. Shawn missed his hearing. His lawyer can't even reach him.

Bo: Damn it. I was afraid this was gonna happen.

Roman: Bo, I hate to do this to you. But I gotta ask you to be the one to pick Shawn up and bring him in. I'm tied up.

Bo: With what?

Roman: Well, I'm trying to figure out whether ma and Victor are still alive and being held somewhere by Tony DiMera.

Bo: Come on, Roman. It's more trouble to call me than just go out and arrest him yourself. Why didn't you do it?

Roman: All right, little brother, I'll level with you. I was gonna do it. Then I realized he's your son and that you might want to pick him up and bring him in yourself.

Bo: You're right. I need to be the one to arrest him.

Hope: No. I will not allow you to arrest our son.

Kate: Philip needs you to be there for him, Belle. Physically and emotionally, as his wife, you need to be there for him in every way. He can't think that you don't want him because of his --

Kate: That's my this is my daughter-in-law. This is my business. This is none of your business, and I want you to leave. I said, "get out."

Belle: Actually, this is my apartment, and you have no right to tell Shawn to leave.

Kate: He has no right to be here, Belle.

Philip: Mom, you're wrong. Shawn has every right to be here, and, in fact, I would like him to stay.

Lucas: Mom, you kicked Sami out of my apartment earlier. What the hell's wrong with you?

Roman: Bo, listen to me. I'm sorry.

Hope: Can't we talk to the Judge first? Ask him.

Bo: Did you hear Hope's question? Can we --

Roman: Yes, I did hear it, and the answer's no, unfortunately. Now, Mickey can petition later to get Shawn released, but the arrest warrant's already been issued. So unless you can convince Shawn to come down to the station on his own, then you're gonna have to find him and bring him in.

Bo: Okay.

Roman: Tell Hope I'm sorry.

Bo: I will. Later, man. Roman wants you to know he's sorry. Damn it. Hope, we knew this was a possibility if Shawn missed his hearing date.

Hope: What are you gonna do, point out again that I gave Shawn the money to go to Germany, against your better judgement? It's my fault. It is, isn't it?

Chloe: Uh, no, I -- I just don't want this time alone with you to end.

Brady: Well, I -- I don't want it to end either, Chloe, but I just think there are a lot of people in Salem that will be thrilled to hear that you're alive, and you can't hide from them forever, you know?

Chloe: You're right, but another day or two won't hurt.

Brady: Okay, fine, deal. Personally, I would love to shout it from the rooftops that you're alive and then put your face on the front page of every newspaper.

Chloe: Uh, no, let's not do that.

Brady: Okay, we won't do that -- we'll start slow. Can I at least ask my dad and Marlena to come up and see you? Is that all right?

Chloe: Yeah, I-I guess so.

John: You probably picked up some kind of bug when you were over in Europe in that damn castle.

Marlena: I don't think that's it.

John: You haven't been yourself since you got back. Why don't you call the doctor --

Marlena: I have seen my doctor. I've spent some time with the doctor, and --

[Telephone rings]

John: Hold on a second. Hold on.

[Telephone beeps]

John: Yeah -- John Black.

Brady: Hey, dad, it’s Brady.

John: Hey, kid. What's up?

Brady: I was just wondering what your schedule was like today -- that's all.

John: Always loose for you.

Brady: Really? Well, how would you like to spend the day with your son and the love of his life?

John: If you're talking about Nicole, my schedule just tightened up, kid.

Brady: No, , , dad. I really don't know how to say this, but, um, I was right -- Chloe is alive.

[Chuckles]

John: What? Where are you now?

Brady: Dad, I'm at mom's cottage. You and Marlena gotta come up and see us and hang out.

John: You're not kidding me. My God, this is fantastic, kid. Listen, you just hang on. We'll be right there.

Brady: All right.

[Telephone beeps]

Marlena: What? What is it?

John: Brace yourself. Chloe lane is alive, and Brady is with her right now. He wants to tell us all about it, and he wants us to come and see them. Are you up for it?

Marlena: Of course I am.

John: Are you sure?

Marlena: Yes, I'm just glad she decided to let him see her.

John: Yeah, well -- what are you talking about? Oh, my God. You knew that she was alive, and you kept that secret from Brady?

Kate: What exactly are you getting at? Are you accusing me of something?

Lucas: No, I'm not. I just know that you're very protective over your children. And if I want to spend time with Sami because of Will, and Philip wants Shawn in Belle's life, it's none of your business.

Kate: I don't want to see my children hurt, Lucas.

Lucas: Mom, we're not children anymore. We're adults.

[Cellphone rings]

Kate: Hello!

Roman: Whoa. Well, this is Roman. You okay?

Kate: Yes, yes, I'm fine.

Roman: All right. Well, listen, I was just touching base. Are you at Belle and Philip's?

Kate: Yes, I am.

Roman: Okay. Well, I've got some things to take care of, and then -- then I'll meet you over there.

Kate: Is everything all right, Roman? What --

Roman: Well, no, not really. Might as well tell you. Shawn missed his hearing, and the Judge issued a warrant for his arrest. So, if you do see him, tell him his mom and dad are on their way over to pick him up. So tell him to stay put.

Kate: Yes, of course I'll do my part.

Kate: Sorry. That was a business call. I had to take it. Look, um, Lucas, Philip, you're right. I really shouldn't be interfering in your decisions, so if Philip wants Shawn to be here, then it's fine with me.

Kate: [Thinking] Because as soon as your parents get here and arrest you, you'll be out of our lives for good.

Eugenia: [Moans] Oh, my feet are killing me. Where did I put my slippers? They must be under the bed.

Brady: So, Chloe, you sure that it's okay that my dad and Marlena are coming up to see you? My dad is gonna be thrilled to see that you're alive, and I know Marlena's gonna feel the same way.

Chloe: Actually, Marlena already knows that I'm alive. I've seen her and talked to her.

Brady: Wh-- when? How long has she known?

Chloe: It was just a few days before you found me. My mom called her and asked her to come to the hospital to counsel me.

Brady: Why didn't she tell me?

Chloe: She's a psychiatrist. It's doctor/patient confidentiality. But, trust me, she told me so many times to let you know that I'm alive, that you'd love me no matter what I looked like.

Brady: Well, she's right. I do. Chloe, I don't understand, again, why you're so fixated on the way you look. I guess I can understand, you know, after the accident, what you went through was probably devastating psychologically, so it's probably a good thing that Marlena's coming up to see you.

Chloe: It is. Um, the more I think about it, I'd really like to talk to Marlena some more to really understand what's going on.

Brady: Well, if anybody can help you, she can.

Chloe: I sure hope you're right.

Marlena: Uh, yes, yes. I-I knew about Chloe. Nancy had called me and asked me to come see Chloe at the hospital. She'd had a serious operation on her face, and it had not gone well, so, you know, I went. Of course I went. And Chloe became my patient.

John: Mm-hmm, I see. That's where the confidentiality rule kicks in, right?

Marlena: Yeah. John, that was not easy.

John: Well, keeping secrets that can change a person's life never are. I'm just amazed that you were able to keep something so important from Brady.

Marlena: I had to. I'm a doctor. I took an oath.

John: Yeah, I understand. Hippocratic oath is as sacred as your marriage vows.

Marlena: Where are, uh, Chloe and Brady now?

John: Isabella's cottage.

Marlena: Isabella's cottage? I didn't know you kept that.

John: Mm-hmm. Is that a problem?

Marlena: No. No, I guess not. I just didn't know about it.

John: Oh, I thought I told you about it. I'm sorry.

Marlena: No.

John: Well, it's been a long time since I've been there, anyway. It's Brady's now. I just held on to it for his sake.

Marlena: And because you weren't ready to let go of Isabella.

John: Of course I don't want to let go of Izzy B. She was a great love of my life, and we share a beautiful child. Just like Roman was a great love of your life, and you share two beautiful children. You'll always have a special place in each other's hearts, also. Anyway... I love you. You love me. And if I didn't tell you about Isabella's cottage, I'm really sorry.

Marlena: That's okay. I forgive you. I'm hoping you're gonna be able to find a way to forgive me. John, we have a second --

John: You had an oath to keep. I understand why you didn't tell me about Chloe.

Marlena: That wasn't quite --

[Doorbell rings]

John: Hold on.

Roman: Hey, John, Doc.

Marlena: Roman.

John: We just got some unbelievable news. Brady called. Chloe Lane is alive.

Roman: You've gotta -- that's incredible. What the -- what happened?

John: We're on our way there. He's gonna fill us in. It's great, isn't it?

Roman: I won't keep you.

John: No, you're here. What's going on?

Roman: I wish I had the same great news about ma and Victor, but I'm still working on it. How are you doing, Doc?

Marlena: I'm holding up okay.

John: She's not doing good at all this morning. In fact, I'm gonna go upstairs and see if I can find something for your upset stomach. I'll be right back.

Roman: You haven’t... you haven't told John you're pregnant, have you?

Marlena: No. I was going to last night. I was sort of waiting for the right moment, and then when I found the moment, I couldn't quite find the words. I'm going to tell him... right away. I'm going to do that.

Roman: Any idea how John will react?

Marlena: I think he'll be devastated. I should have trusted d my instinct in the beginning. Now I'm worried about the stress of keeping the secret about John finding out -- that won't be good for the baby.

Roman: Oh, God.

Marlena: Have you told Kate?

Roman: No, no. And I won't till you talk to John.

Marlena: Thank you.

Roman: Doc, listen to me. You don't have to go through this alone, okay? You want me to be there when you tell John? 'Cause if you do, I can stay, and we can do it right now.

Sami: Aah!

Eugenia: What was that?

Shawn D.: Whoa, whoa, so, suddenly it's okay for me to stay?

Kate: Well, you're all adults. It's really Philip and Belle's call, isn't it?

Philip: Thank you, mother.

[Knock on door]

Belle: Excuse me. Hey.

Bo: We're looking for Shawn.

Shawn D.: Dad, hi. What -- what -- what are you doing here?

Hope: Honey, I am so sorry. I...

Shawn D.: Sorry? Mom, no, what are you sorry about? What happened?

Hope: Shawn --

Bo: I'm here as a police officer. I've got a warrant for your arrest.

Marlena: I can't tell John now. He is so excited about seeing Chloe and Brady together. I am gonna tell him, and soon -- soon.

Roman: All right. But just listen to me, okay? I am there if you need me. I just hope to hell that John and Kate understand the extraordinary circumstances we were in that one time we were intimate while we were prisoners in that castle.

Marlena: They also have to understand that you and I won't be bound by this child.

John: We're all out of antacid-- gonna have to stop at the drugstore on the way to see Brady and Chloe.

Roman: Okay, well, listen. I'll tell you what. I'll be in touch, and, Doc, I hope you're feeling well soon.

Marlena: I'll be fine.

Roman: Okay.

John: Hey.

Brady: I can't imagine what Marlena was going through knowing that you were alive and she couldn't tell me about it, although she did tell me without actually saying anything.

Chloe: What do you mean?

Brady: She was so adamant about the whole thing. She kept saying, "don't give up, Brady. You gotta keep looking until you find her."

Chloe: Yeah, Marlena was really trying to encourage me to reveal myself to you. Um, Brady, that night at Alice's bar, when you called Nancy and then tried to confront Nicole about hearing my voice on the phone...

Brady: Mm-hmm?

Chloe: I was there.

Brady: You were there?

Chloe: Yeah. I was hiding behind the bushes. And I heard your prayer about asking that you'd give anything to believe that I was alive and that I would come back to you.

Brady: Why didn't you come out and reveal yourself to me?

Chloe: Because I wasn't sure how you'd react to seeing me.

Brady: Are you serious? You had to know that I would be thrilled to see you.

Chloe: Not with the way that I looked.

Brady: Chloe, you keep saying that. I'm sorry. It doesn't make any sense to me. You know, you say that -- you say that your throat was injured in the accident. You had a series of surgeries. But obviously they were successful.

Chloe: No, Brady, I'm afraid that they weren’t.

Brady: Chloe, look at me. What you see in the mirror is not what I see when I look at you.

Chloe: Brady...

Brady: No, listen to me. You are still the same beautiful, wonderful woman that I fell in love with.

Chloe: Brady, I don't know why you can't see it, but I've changed. I'm not the same person anymore, and I never will be.

Brady: You know what? You're right. Now, I finally understand what you've been trying to tell me. I can't believe I was so blind that I couldn't see it before.

[Dialing]

Eugenia: Hi. I'm just checking in on my baby. How's Dino?

Woman: Dino's fine.

Eugenia: Okay, good, good. Is he heeling on his leash? Is he eating his liver treats?

Woman: He's been a perfect angel.

Eugenia: Okay, well, have you given him a flea bath yet?

Woman: As soon as he got here.

Eugenia: Okay, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I just -- I really miss my sweet little baby, but between working and looking for a better job, I was just never home enough to take care of him.

Woman: Well, we know who's to blame for that, don't we?

Eugenia: Uh, yeah. My sorry state in life is all because of that damn Sami Brady. Well, at least the little bitch lost her boyfriend, her son, and her happy future. Kate Roberts and I made sure of that.

[Light thud]

Bo: No, son. This is no joke. And that's your problem. You're not taking these charges seriously.

Shawn D.: I got a letter from the court.

Hope: And what did it say?

Shawn D.: I didn't open it.

Bo: Right. That's exactly what I'm talking about. It's probably a reminder of your new hearing date, which you missed.

Shawn D.: And they're arresting me for that?

Bo: As far as a Judge is concerned, you jumped bail, left jurisdiction.

Belle: Oh, my God, this is all my fault.

Kate: Oh, Belle, how can you say that?

Belle: Because he never would have come to Germany if it hadn't been for me.

Kate: Oh, come on. That just proves once again how irresponsible he's been in his decisions.

Philip: Mom, you're friends with Judge Fitzpatrick. Can't you call her, ask if she can give Shawn a break? What do you think?

Kate: Well, sweetie, I really don't think it would do any good to talk to the Judge. What she did was perfectly legal.

Hope: Yes, it was, but extreme, don't you think?

Bo: Judge Fitzpatrick isn't usually so unforgiving.

Kate: Well, I'm sure Karen had her reasons.

Hope: Right. I guess Karen did.

Chloe: I knew it was only a matter of time before you could see what really happened.

Brady: I do see what happened. Chloe, I understand completely. You were deeply affected by the trauma from the accident. You were staring death in the face for the second time. You were faced with the possibility of losing your singing voice forever, your face being permanently scarred. But, Chloe, that was in the past. It is over now. You're here, you're whole, you're as beautiful as ever, and I'm gonna do everything in my power to make sure that something like that never happens to you again.

Chloe: Brady, I know you're trying to protect me, but --

Brady: I will always protect you. I just wish I could have been there for you from the start -- that's all.

[Knock on door]

Brady: They're here. Hey!

Marlena: Oh, honey.

Brady: Dad.

John: There she is.

Chloe: Hi.

Marlena: Hi.

John: It's true. You've come back to us. Hey. Oh-ho-ho.

Brady: She's here. She's as beautiful as ever.

John: I'm just so stoked the two of you have found each other.

Marlena: Yeah. I want to hear everything that happened.

Brady: You know what? I think it would be a great idea if the two of you talked for a bit.

Marlena: Good, good.

John: I haven't been here for while.

Brady: Brings back a lot of memories, huh, pop?

John: Oh, yeah.

Marlena: Yes.

Chloe: Brady can't see my scars.

Marlena: No, I'm sure he's just looking past them.

Chloe: No, I'm telling you, he literally can't see them. How is that possible?

Marlena: Oh. I know exactly how. And you know what? It's not -- it's just not so surprising. Brady loves you so unconditionally, the only thing that he can see is your inner beauty. And that matters more to him than your actual appearance, because true love transcends everything.

Chloe: Wow. Do you really think so?

Marlena: I do. Chloe, in the purest sense, he loves you so deeply, he is literally, literally blinded to your imperfections.

Chloe: Well, I know where he learned to love like that. It's the same love that you share with Brady's father, love that's based on trust and honesty.

John: I need to ask you a favor.

Chloe: Yeah, of course. What is it?

John: I would like you to do something for me in Salem tomorrow.

Chloe: No, I'm -- I'm sorry, Mr. Black, but there is no way that I'm leaving this cottage.

Belle: There must be something we can do. What if I go to the Judge and tell her there were extenuating circumstances?

Philip: No, no, honey, I will vouch for Shawn. I will tell the Judge he came to Germany to help get me home.

Shawn D.: I appreciate what you are doing, but I got myself into this, and I can get out.

Bo: Hey, hey, don't get cocky, Shawn. This is very serious. And you missing that hearing date made a bad situation worse.

Shawn D.: Okay, and I have a feeling an "I told you so" is coming up next. And, dad, I really don't need --

Bo: That's exactly the kind of attitude I'm talking about. When are you gonna start taking responsibility for your actions? When are you stop acting on impulse and start to think things through first?

Shawn D.: I don't know, dad. When are you?

Hope: I think it's pretty obvious what happened here.

Kate: Oh?

Hope: You got your good friend Karen to move Shawn's court date up. You just had to make sure he went to jail, didn't you, Kate?

Kate: That is so ridiculous. I would never do anything like that, even if I did have that kind of influence. Judge Fitzpatrick would never compromise her position or her authority. But if I did have influence, I would recommend to her that she do exactly as she has done.

[Knock on door]

Lucas: I'll get it.

Roman: Hey.

Lucas: Hey, Roman.

Bo: Hey, Roman.

Hope: Roman, I'm sorry. I'm just gonna say it, okay? I think your wife is doing everything she possibly can to destroy my son's life!

Brady: Marlena, I really think that you need to talk to Chloe and -- and I think that she's traumatized more by this accident than she realizes.

Marlena: Tell me why you think that.

Brady: Well, she keeps saying that she's ugly, that she's some kind of a monster. I just -- I think, with your help, she can come to terms with whatever's bothering her.

Marlena: And you can't see for yourself what that might be?

Brady: Well, I don't know. I guess maybe because she lied to me about her being alive, and when you deceive someone that you love, you tend to feel pretty bad about yourself.

Marlena: Yes, that's true. Darling, I have spoken to Chloe. And I think she has a pretty firm grip on reality, but I will talk to her again, if you like.

Brady: That would be great, Marlena. Thank you. I do appreciate it.

Marlena: All righty. Part of her therapy will mean that I'll need to talk to you, too.

Brady: Oh, yeah, by all means. Whatever helps Chloe.

Marlena: Okay.

Chloe: I know, I just can't yet. I'm sorry. I can’t.

John: Chloe...honey, you can't hide from people forever. Trust me. No one's really gonna care that you have those scars anyway.

Chloe: Brady will eventually. But right now he can't seem to see them.

John: Maybe that's because they don't matter to him. And the fact is they never will. Now, I just want you to hear me out. I'm kind of putting together something for Marlena. I was gonna tell her about it, but I've decided to keep it a surprise.

Chloe: What are you gonna do?

John: Double wedding ceremony. We're gonna renew our vows.

Chloe: Wow. Well, when you say "double," you mean...

John: Doc and me, and Kate and Roman.

Chloe: Oh. Okay, but why do you need me?

John: Ah why do you think? I want you to sing at my ceremony.

Chloe: Oh, Mr. Black, I-I don't know.

John: Please, come on. I know it'd mean so much to Doc.

Chloe: I'm not sure.

John: Okay. No problem. I understand. But I do want Brady to be there. And, since you are his future wife and a member of my family, I would really love it if you would think about coming, too. Would you do that, please?

Eugenia: Yeah, that's right. Kate Roberts owes me big-time for helping her set up Sami getting caught in bed with her fine, ripped, hunky ex-husband Brandon Walker.

Woman: Do you think Kate will come through?

Eugenia: Yeah. She'd better come through with what I want.

Woman: And if she doesn't?

Eugenia: Ew. Mmm. If she doesn't [Chuckles] Then I've got enough evidence on Kate to make sure that her son never, ever speaks to her again.

Woman: Ooh. And what would that be?

Eugenia: Never you mind what that is. But I guarantee you it will ruin Kate. And it's safe, and it's hidden where no one is ever gonna find it. So, yeah. I can change Kate's life -- Sami's too. So, no, I'm not worried, because Kate is gonna give me exactly what I want her to, because she hates Sami too much to say no.

Woman: Sounds like you have everything under control. Oh, God, I gotta go. Your dog is chewing on my tarot cards. Dino, stop that!

Eugenia: Oh, okay, I'm sorry. I gotta go too, 'cause I got to shower and get ready for my next dead-end job, but please give Dino some sugar for me and tell him I'll see him as soon as I can, okay?

Woman: I gotta go. Dino, God --

Eugenia: [Sighs] Dino, please behave. I can't afford to get you evicted, honey. I can't even afford dog food on sale.

[Smooches] Oh.

Sami: Okay. I was right about everything, and there is evidence of what Kate did somewhere in this room. I just have to find it. But not now.

[Toilet flushes]

Sami: I can't afford to get caught. But I'll be back.

Belle: Bo, please. There has to be a way to not take Shawn to jail.

Bo: I've got no choice. This is the way it's gotta be.

Shawn D.: Yeah, you gotta understand, Belle, this is gonna look very good on Detective Brady's resume -- bringing in his own son.

Bo: Knock it off.

Roman: Shawn. Shawn, listen to me. I could have sent anybody in the police force to pick you up, including myself. I called your dad because I thought it would be better for both of you.

Bo: This isn't easy for me, son. Come on. I'll read you your rights on the way to the station. Let's go.

Hope: Honey, oh, my God. We'll get you out as soon as we can. You don't deserve to be going through this. I'm sorry.

Bo: Come on.

Philip: Belle... it'll be all right.

Kate: Sweetie, I'm sorry. I really am. But this is kind of a reality check for Shawn. He's been on a very dangerous and a self-destructive path, and this could be the wake-up call that makes him turn his life around.

Hope: I wouldn't be too sure about that. That woman will do anything she can to get Shawn away from Belle. Don't you understand --

Roman: I know you are upset and angry.

Hope: Upset? Angry? Of course I'm upset and angry.

Roman: Hope, listen to me. I know Kate. She's not that devious, all right? Listen, I need for you to calm down. Focus all your energy on helping Shawn. Philip, I'm sorry. I know Shawn led that team that rescued you. And, Belle, I know what kind of turmoil you're going through. But the fact is Shawn was irresponsible. Whatever happens to him he brought on himself.

Lucas: Hope, you really think my mom's responsible for this?

Hope: 100%. Kate loves her children. She'd use any resource at her disposal to protect them. And, from your mother's perspective, getting Shawn out of the way will ensure Philip's relationship with Belle.

Lucas: Yeah. Maybe that's why she's trying so hard to get Sami away from me -- to protect me.

Hope: Yeah, you're absolutely right about that.

Lucas: You know what, Hope? Some people are very suspicious of my mom. They think that she set Sami and Brandon up so I would catch them in bed together. But I don't have any proof of that. There's no way she could pull that off.

Hope: Maybe not alone. But how about with a little help? You know, Lucas, there's an old saying -- "two people can keep a secret as long as one of them is dead." Your mother's very wealthy. She can pay anybody almost anything to do anything for her. Didn't she pay Nicole $5 million to marry you just to get Sami out of the way and keep Will in your custody?

Lucas: Yeah.

Hope: Like I said, when it comes to doing what she thinks is best for her children, your mother -- your mother is capable of anything.
