Rex: Why didn't you tell me Marlena was taking truth serum?

Mimi: Well, I walked in here, and Rocco Dispirito, television celebrity chef from New York, was cooking me dinner, and then that dessert he made, the autographed cookbooks, and then our own private dessert ‑‑ I'm sorry, I got a little distracted, and I didn't want to ruin your night.

Rex: Or yours. You should have told me the truth, Mimi.

Mimi: Like what? "Oh, by the way, sweetheart, the woman who gave birth to you is about to confess to being the Salem Stalker. That's right, honey. Marlena's probably about to admit that she killed your twin sister."

Rex: Yeah, yeah, that's exactly what you should have told me. I deserve to know. I thought you always told me the truth, Mimi. Maybe I can't trust you after all.

****************************

Philip: Mom, I've been looking all over for you. Are you okay?

Kate: It's been one hell of a night, Philip.

Philip: Yeah, I know.

Kate: I came here to prepare myself for Marlena's confession. It makes me so angry every time I think about how she's ruined my life. She killed Cassie, and we never even had a chance to get to know each other. She murdered Roman at our wedding. And now Sami, who's just as monstrous as her Mother, is out to ruin Lucas's life.

Philip: But, Mom, you don't really think anything serious is going to happen between Lucas and Sami.

Kate: Seriously sick. I found the two of them together in Sami's bed.

Philip: Oh. Well, Mom, I'm sorry.

Kate: But believe me, I'm going to turn the tables on that little slut.

**************************

Sami: Why won't anyone listen to me, Lucas? My Mom is innocent. She's been set up by John and Kate.

Lucas: Haven't you heard a thing your Mother said in there, Sami?

Sami: Your evil Mother and my Dimera mercenary Stepfather planned this whole thing. They conspired to kill my Father and all those other poor victims and now they're trying to blame the whole thing on my Mom!

Lucas: Once and for all, I got to make you see the truth, Sami. Your Mother is guilty!

**************************

Hope: Why in God's name did you kill all of those innocent people?

**************************

Sami: What are you going to do, hit me again, slap some sense into me? God, maybe I should have pressed charges, Lucas.

Lucas: Sami, I hit you because you were drinking. That's why I did it. And I'm sorry I did it, okay? But I truly thought you were going to hurt yourself.

Sami: All right, well, what are you going to do now?

Lucas: We've gotten very close lately, and I want to be with you. I do. It's not because we have a Son together, even though that's huge. I know we could have a great relationship together, Sami. I've felt it. I felt it when we made love. Didn't you?

Sami: It was like a dream. And then reality hit when your Mom barged in and beaned me with a casserole.

Lucas: All right, you know what? I know my Mom's a problem. I can admit that. She's done horrible things in the past, but it doesn't give you the right to blame her for a horrific thing that your Mother did.

Sami: Lucas, that is not ‑‑

Lucas: Sami, let me just finish. You're convinced it's the truth, aren't you? Because you want it to be. Your family's going through a horrible time right now, but you wish it was happening to my family. Is that it, Sami?

Sami: No, Lucas. It's just that your Mother is a terrible person, and everybody knows that, but ‑‑ but my Mom, she's...

Lucas: Look...I am trying to be here for you ‑‑ I am. You know, maybe it's asking too much for you to be here for me. And I don't know what you're going through, not fully, but it's not going to get any better until you accept the damn truth.

Sami: The truth is that my mother is not a killer, Lucas. She is innocent, and she does not deserve to go to death row. I know how she feels, because you and Kate put me there.

Lucas: Wait a minute. Thanks for bringing it up. You don't think I think about that every day of my life? I never wanted that to happen.

Sami: God, this was a mistake. You and me together? I mean, God, Lucas, who are we kidding? It's not going to work.

Lucas: What?

Sami: And I can't ‑‑ I can't let my Mom see me like this, Lucas. Just forget it.

Lucas: No, Sami ‑‑

Kate: Well, for once in her life, Sami Brady's right. Forget it.

**********************

John: Go ahead, Doc. Tell them why you did this.

Marlena: That's the same question that Maggie asked me right before she died. I’m sure Caroline Brady would have asked it, too, if she'd had the time. But, um, time was running short, and I ‑‑ and I couldn't, uh, let her incriminate me.

Bo: So you admit to killing my Mom.

Marlena: See, Maggie was telling Caroline everything that she knew, and I figured that sooner or later, Caroline would just put it all together, so I had to make a ‑‑ a preemptive strike. I‑I just ‑‑ I‑I couldn't be incriminated, that's all.

Bo: So anyone who came close to I.D.ing you as the killer ‑‑ they had to be eliminated.

Marlena: Yes.

Hope: That's why you tried to stab Shawn in his bed, because he suspected you.

Marlena: Oh. I did try to kill Shawn.

Bo: But you stabbed somebody else. Do you know who that was?

Marlena: I don't know. Somebody he was sleeping with?

Shawn‑d: Oh, that is not true.

Judge: Mr. Brady, please.

Bo: Marlena, did you poison Caroline Brady with the intent to kill her?

Sami: No, Mom, tell them it's not true. Tell them that you didn't kill Grandma.

Marlena: All right. I'll tell you the whole story, but you're not going to like it. Play ball!

********************

Mimi: Why would you say you can't trust me? I would never deliberately lie to you, Rex. Honestly, I just got so caught up in the surprise dinner, dancing, making love, that I forgot to tell you that Marlena could be confessing as the serial killer tonight.

Rex: I'm sorry. I ‑‑ I shouldn't have got upset with you. It's not like I could have changed anything. I guess I'm just a little on edge because, for the first time, the truth may come out about how Cassie died, you know?

Mimi: I don't know why it never occurred to me that you'd want to be there. I guess I thought it would just be too painful. But if it would have given you closure, I am so sorry I didn't say anything.

Rex: Well, I just ‑‑ I remember when I was in jail, being charged for being the killer. Cassie was always there for me. She was so faithful and loyal, and as soon as I was released, she was murdered.

Mimi: Would you like to go to the hospital? Maybe it's not too late.

Rex: Yeah, I want to go. I want to hear Marlena's confession. I want to know why she did this.

********************

Lucas: I don't want to fight with you about Sami, not again. What you're going to go through is going to be tough enough. I can't believe I just had to listen to Marlena confess about killing Aunt Maggie.

Philip: Marlena's confessing to all the crimes?

Lucas: Yeah.

Kate: Oh, God.

Lucas: I got it, man.

Philip: All right.

Lucas: Come on, Mom, let's sit down.

Kate: And right now, she is in there defending the monster who killed your Aunt and your Grandmother. She's trying to implicate me. She is trying to say that I killed my own Husband. This is the woman you want to spend the rest of your life with.

********************

Sami: My Mom is not the killer. Why don't you ask us? We're her family. I've known her my whole life. I'm telling you, my Mom didn't do it.

Judge: Miss Brady, if you disrupt these proceedings one more time, I will not allow you to stay. Am I making myself clear?

Shawn: I agree with my Granddaughter Samantha.

Judge: Oh, for God's sake.

Shawn: Marlena couldn't have killed my Wife Caroline. Marlena was once our Daughter‑In‑Law. She was a beloved member of the Brady family. It's just not possible that she is the killer.

Bo: Unfortunately, Pop, it is possible, and you're going to have to stay calm so I can finish this questioning, please. Marlena...

Marlena: Hmm?

Bo: Did you poison Caroline Brady?

Marlena: Yep.

Shawn‑d: No.

Marlena: I was especially proud of Caroline's murder. The foreshadowing, I thought, was just a brilliant touch. The casket that went to the church ‑‑ I thought it added a‑a nice flair to an otherwise dull and boring funeral of ‑‑ of Abe and Jack and Maggie. When it came to killing Caroline, I was especially punctual. I timed it perfectly. Even sent a message to Bo on his PDA. It was a digital clock. It was counting down the minutes until Caroline, you know... keeled over.

Bo: Less than an hour before that maniac's threatened to kill again.

Marlena: That was a coup.

Bo: Exactly how and when did you poison Mom?

Marlena: Bo came into the Brady Pub. He was in cop mode and didn't even notice me at the bar. His Ma came up to him, and that was the distraction that I needed ‑‑ the perfect opportunity to slip poison into her tea. Diazepam. Oh, uh, that was the drug that I prescribed for Maggie to relieve the stress she was feeling over being stalked by the serial killer. Anyway... I knew that Maggie had an addictive personality, and so she would resist taking all the medication. There was a lot left over that I could just steal after I killed her. It was all very simple, actually. I mean, as a Doctor, I ‑‑ I knew exactly how much medication to give Caroline. I even had time to send a preprogrammed message to Bo on his PDA ‑‑ anonymously, of course. All I had to do was play the grieving, concerned family friend...

Marlena: And watch while tragedy struck.

Shawn‑d: Oh, Grandma.

Sami: Mom.

Will: No way. She ‑‑ she couldn't have.

**********************

Belle: I really don't mean to bother you.

Shawn‑d: I just needed to get away for a few minutes.

Belle: Shawn, I just ‑‑ I wonder if the thing you really need to get away from is me.

***********************

Sami: Sweetie, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry.

Will: My Grandma Marlena can't be the killer.

Sami: God, how could you let him in there?

Lucas: Wait, I swear I didn't see him, Sami.

Sami: Oh, I don't believe you. But this was your idea, Kate, wasn't it? So you could make will hate his other Grandmother. That way you two could get ‑‑ get him all to yourselves.

Kate: I would never intentionally hurt my Grandson. Sweetie, come here.

Sami: No, I have him. Come on, Will, let's go.

Kate: Oh, my God.

Lucas: I should be with my Son and Sami.

Kate: Well, you know something? I agree with half of that, but you and Will should stay far away from Sami.

Lucas: Will you just please give it a rest?

Kate: Fine. Fine. Well, now I'm going to go in, and I'm going to hear Marlena talk about how she brutally murdered cassie. You know, Sami and Marlena would love to have seen me convicted of that crime. Perhaps if you can tear yourself away from Sami, you'd like to bear witness to how your half‑sister was murdered ‑‑ murdered by your lover's Mother.

Lucas: I'll be there in a few minutes.

*************************

Judge: Why don't we call a brief recess? This place is turning into grand central station. That young boy should not have been in here.

Shawn: I am very sorry. I just ‑‑ I never meant for poor Will to hear those terrible words coming out of Marlena's mouth.

Bo: Pop, it's okay. That just happened. It's not your fault.

Shawn: You know, I told Will to go sit next to Kate and his Dad, and that ‑‑

Bo: Hold on.

Shawn: I feel terrible.

Bo: I know, I know. It's all right. Listen... I'm the police Commander here. I got a job I have to do. I don't think I can do it with you here, Pop.

Shawn: Whoa, whoa, will you? I'm not going to lose my temper. I'm not.

Bo: I'm worried about you. I don't think your heart can handle this stress. So why don't you do me a favor, huh? Take Will home. I'll come by later and fill you in.

Shawn: I don't want you worrying about me, Son. I'll do as you ask.

Bo: Okay?

Shawn: Okay. Listen... you make Roman proud, eh? 'Cause nothing meant more to him than ‑‑ than seeing justice done.

Bo: I know, pop. Let's go.

Shawn: You know, my Caroline never hurt a soul. She loved you, Marlena. And how did you repay her, huh? And my Son Roman ‑‑ he was a saint. He didn't deserve the likes of you.

John: Listen, we still aren't certain why Marlena committed these crimes. Obviously, this isn't the woman we've known, and she certainly isn't the woman that Roman loved.

Shawn: Well, she had them all fooled, but not anymore. After her well‑deserved execution, I hope she roasts in hell.

Bo: Pop, come on. That's what I'm talking about. It's okay.

Judge: I understand there's a great deal of emotion for the families of the victims, and since the accused has waived her right to a trial, this venue is the only way for the next of kin to find out how their loved ones died. Now, I can't bar anyone from these proceedings, but I would really like to get this questioning moving along.

Bo: Yes, your honor.

Judge: And now who is this?

Bo: This is Rex...

Rex: Brady, your honor. Roman Brady was my Father, and Caroline Brady was my Grandmother.

Judge: Dr. Evans has already given her confession on Caroline Brady.

Rex: I want to hear her confession about killing my twin Sister Cassie.

Bo: Well, you got here in time. The next victim was Cassie Brady.

Kate: If you killed my daughter Cassie, what's to stop me from killing your Daughter Sami?

********************

Sami: Here. Sweetie, why don't we just sit in here for a little while?

Will: Okay.

Sami: Um, okay.

Lucas: Will, this is a real tough situation for all of us.

Will: Is Grandma Marlena really the serial killer? Did she really kill Great‑Grandma Caroline, Aunt Maggie, Grandpa Roman, Great‑Gram, and all the others?

Sami: Look, Will, sweetie, why don't we remember what Grandma Caroline used to say? Let us not judge that we are not judged.

Lucas: Will, let's let the courts and the police decide who's guilty, okay? But if your Grandma Marlena did commit these horrible murders ‑‑ I don't see how she could or what could possibly have driven her to do that, but if it's true, buddy, it's ‑‑ it's not the same mom and grandma that we all know and love, and that loves you. Do you understand that?

Will: I heard on the news that she wasn't possessed. She didn't have a brain tumor, and they don't think she's crazy. So...why would she do this?

Sami: Well, we don't know the whole story, okay? We're going to find out soon. In the meantime, we should just pray for her and know that God loves her just as much as we do.

Lucas: Hey, will, it's your Great‑Grandpa Shawn. Now why don't you go home with him and then just try to get some rest tonight, okay? And then tomorrow morning we'll work this out together.

Will: You and Mom together. Like a family.

Lucas: Look, buddy, we're always going to be your parents, okay? And we'll always loves you. Go on.

Sami: I love you, too. Oh, so much. All right.

Lucas: Be a good boy, okay?

Shawn: So you're coming home with me, Will?

Will: Yeah.

Lucas: Thank you. Call you tomorrow morning.

Sami: Good night. Thanks for what you said.

Lucas: You're welcome. Sounds like you're starting to accept the truth.

Sami: No! Lucas, okay, please, I don't think I could handle any "I told you so"s right now.

******************

Shawn‑d: My Dad was telling me how I just have to stop analyzing the situation. And, you know, I don't want to blame you.

Belle: But you can't help it. Face it, Shawn. My Mother is the murderer. And because of her, some of your closest family members are gone forever. And because I lied to protect my Mom, you didn't have a chance to save your Great‑Grandmother's life. How are we going to live with that?

Shawn‑d: I don't know. I don't know. Maybe we can't. I've got to get back in there. I've got to be there for my parents' sake.

[Door slams]

Belle: Oh, dear God, why is this happening?

*******************

Hope: Kate. Kate.

Judge: Let's get this situation under control right now.

Hope: This is a legal proceeding. You don't want the judge to hold that threat against you.

Kate: Oh, God.

Kate: I'm sorry about the comment, judge.

Judge: I hope you'll be able to control yourself.

Kate: I'll try.

Judge: Do better than try.

Bo: Marlena, I want to shift the questioning to the murder of Cassie Brady.

Marlena: All right. Uh, it was... near Thanksgiving that we got confirmation that Rex and Cassie were not my biological children. They ‑‑ they were Kate's.

Bo: How did you feel about that?

Marlena: I was very upset about it. Turns out that Rex and Cassie had known for some month that that was true, and yet they had lied to all of us about it. And... Kate had Roman. And she had the twins. They didn't even want her.

Bo: Were you angry with Kate about that?

Marlena: I was very angry with Kate about that.

Bo: Why didn't you go after her?

Marlena: Because I'm careful and methodical, and I only kill people who could incriminate me.

Bo: Rex knew that Cassie had figured out you were guilty. She sent him an e‑mail saying she knew who the killer's identity was.

Rex: Had I gotten the message sooner, I would have been able to save her.

Marlena: Oh, that wasn't going to happen. When Cassie confronted me, she told me she had not told you or Tony that she knew who the killer was. She was trying to protect you.

Bo: Did Cassie tell you what she was planning to do with this information she had?

Marlena: Yes, she did. She was going to the police. Duh. So I played along with her. I let her think that I was remorseful, and convinced her that I wanted her to let my crimes be known and to stop me from killing anyone else again. I had to be careful. Cassie was really smart. But, she wasn't smart enough to outfox me. Turns out the little fox became a big turkey.

Kate: You would have just loved it if I was convicted of Cassie's murder, wouldn't you?

Marlena: It almost worked. Once again, I had a perfect alibi. I was out of town when the body was found. I was on a romantic Thanksgiving with my Husband at Green Mountain Lodge. So nobody suspected me. I could go on planning my next murder ‑‑ Roman Brady.

Kate: No!

Lucas: Mom, that judge gave you 10 minutes to compose yourself. You're running out of time. They're never gonna let you back in there.

Rex: Look, Lucas, could I have a moment alone with... Mom? There's something I'd like to say to her.

Lucas: Yeah.

Kate: I have hardly ever heard you refer to me as your Mom.

Rex: Well, that's what you are to both me and Cassie.

Kate: Well, Cassie's never going to get the chance to call me Mom because of Marlena. You've lost so much. You have lost your sister and your Father. It's just not fair.

Rex: Cassie and I were wrong to wait so long to ask you to be a part of our lives. It's too late for Roman and Cassie, but I hope it's not too late for us, Mom.

Philip: I'm glad my Mom and Rex are getting closer. She's lost so much, you know?

Mimi: You mean like Belle might lose Shawn? Is that what you want to happen, Philip?

*****************

John: With your permission, I'd like to question Marlena. I think I may have something that could help her case.

Bo: Your honor, I don't think this is ‑‑

Judge: It's okay. I fail to see what could help at this point, but I'll allow it.

John: Thank you. I'd like to ask you about the poison dip at Caroline's wake. Now, the drug that was used to kill ‑‑ to poison Caroline was in the dip that you ate. Why would you poison yourself?

Marlena: Oh, yes. I almost outsmarted myself, didn't I? You see, I figured that a close call would keep people from suspecting me. I mean, how could I be a serial killer if I were almost a victim? It almost worked, too. Except the EMTs were late in arriving, and I nearly died. Thanks for saving me, though. It did make me look innocent. And then I realized, wow, I could become the most famous serial killer of all time. I mean, it was a heady goal, but I was determined to achieve it.

****************

Lucas: Hey. You were ‑‑ you were great with Will in there.

Sami: Thanks. So were you.

Lucas: Yeah. I think he really needs his Mom and his Dad together, both giving him support.

Sami: Look, Lucas, I know what you're trying to do. You want us to commit to each other as a couple, but I can't think about that right now.

Lucas: All right. That's okay. I understand that. You know, we don't have to decide if we're a couple. Not right now, but... there is one question that we have to settle ‑‑ I mean, for Will's sake.

Sami: What?

Lucas: You got to come to grips with the irrefutable evidence against your Mom. I'm sorry, Sami. I really am. But you've got to admit it. Your Mom is the Salem Stalker. Wake up. You have to admit it. I'm sorry. You can't deny it anymore.

Sami: Okay. Okay, I'll admit it. Lucas, my mom is the serial killer.

[Sobbing]

Sami: Lucas, I ‑‑ I can't even believe that I'm saying this, but... but I guess maybe my Mom admitted under the truth serum that she did kill Uncle Abe and Jack and Maggie and... and my Grandma. And I guess she probably even killed Cassie. Of course, who didn't want to kill her?

Lucas: Sami, it's not funny.

Sami: I know. I know. But, Lucas, I'll tell you one thing I know for sure. No matter what might have made her do all that, or who, I know that my Mother did not kill my Father. It's impossible, okay? He was the Father of her children. In the eyes of God and the church they were still a family. I'm telling you, it's completely out of the question.

Lucas: Sami, I know it sounds unthinkable, but ‑‑

Sami: It's not possible, not in a trillion years! Lucas, I know that for a fact, and I'm gonna go down there and make my Mom tell everybody that it's not true. She'll swear on a stack of Bibles that she did not kill my Father.

Lucas: Sami, you are in for the worst shock of your life.

****************

Philip: Are you okay?

Mimi: You look drained.

Rex: Yeah. It's just ‑‑ it was hard hearing about what Marlena did to Cassie.

Mimi: Do you want to stay?

Rex: No. I've heard enough.

Mimi: Well, let me take you home. I want to hold you close all night long.

Rex: I love you so much, Mimi. But there's something I have to do first.

*********************

Kate: I'm ready to go back in.

Philip: I don't know, Mom. I'm worried.

Kate: I want to hear the confession.

Philip: Okay. But I'm going with you.

Kate: Okay.

Philip: Come on. Excuse me.

******************

Judge: You may continue with your questioning, Commander Brady.

Bo: Thank you. I want to move now to the murder of Roman Brady.

Marlena: Oh. Yes. Roman was my Ex‑Husband, so it just seemed fitting that I'd choose his wedding day to kill him.

Bo: So you admit that you murdered Roman.

Marlena: Yes, I did.

Bo: Why the animal blood in the wedding cake? What was the purpose of that?

Marlena: I'd used hypodermic needles to infuse the cake. Well, it was a warning. I was hoping that Roman would leave Kate. But he refused. And then I was hoping that he would change his mind. But once he committed to marrying her, I didn't have any choice but to make sure he never went on a honeymoon.

Bo: Tell us what you did.

Roman: [Gasping]

Marlena: If the knife wounds don't kill you, you can choke on the symbol of your love.

Marlena: I pushed the bride and groom down his throat until he stopped breathing. That's when I knew he was dead

Sami: God, please tell me. It can't be true. God, Mom, it can't be true.

********************

Mimi: Are you praying for Cassie and Roman?

Rex: It's a first for me, believe it or not. You know me. I never had the urge to pray before, but, yeah, I felt I needed to pray for my twin Sister, my Father, and all the other victims. For Marlena, too. I lit a candle for my Mom.

Mimi: I love you so much.

Mimi: You're such a good man, Rex. You're definitely Roman Brady's Son.

*********************

Lucas: I'm sorry you had to hear that, Sami. But now that you know, you, me, and Will ‑‑ we're going to get through this.

Kate: Philip, I never want you to know this kind of pain. I want you to find the kind of love that Roman and I will never have.

Hope: Are you okay?

Bo: No. Roman will not rest in peace till the killer pays for her crimes. If it's the last thing I do, Marlena will pay with her life.

John: So, how am I going to save you now, Doc?

Sami: Tell me, Mom. Tell me again. How could you do this, Mom?

Lucas: Sami ‑‑

Sami: Look at me! Why? Why? Why would you kill Daddy? Why? Tell me why, Mom! Tell me! Tell me why!

***********************

Belle: Shawn is never going to be able to forgive me for his Grandmother's death.

Philip: Then maybe you're better off without him.

Jan: There's a simple solution to our little problem.

Nicole: What?

Jan: We have to kill Marlena.

Kate: Sami, you heard her confess, and she deserves to die!

John: This just isn't you.

Marlena: Do you still love me?
