Roman: You know, I'm going
to put a smile on that face if it's the last thing I do.
Kate: I'm just trying to
be realistic.
Roman: No, you're not.
You're predicting doomsday scenarios. You're not living in the moment, enjoying
what we have.
Kate: Roman --
Roman: Kate, I don't want
to hear it. I'm not going to let your son Lucas or my daughter Sami or anybody
else come between us.
Kate: [ Thinking ] I wish
it were that simple, Roman, but there's so much you don't know.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
John: Marlena, you know, I
agree with you that our number one priority is to keep Sami away from Tony. But,
you know, the last time I checked, Basic Black specialized in fashion and
publishing, not babysitting.
Marlena: I'm not talking
about babysitting Sami. I'm talking about giving her a second chance, a fresh
start. An entry-level position would be just fine. And maybe you'll get lucky.
Maybe she'll prove herself to be a valuable employee. What do you say, boss man?
Will you give her a shot? Give her a job, please.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Tony: They're almost as
lovely as you are.
Sami: Tony, I wanted to
stop by and welcome you home.
Tony: And that's why you
stopped by?
Sami: Of course. You were
in the hospital for so long, and now look at you -- all dressed up and dapper,
up and about.
Tony: Nice of you to care.
Sami: Of course. I'm not
interrupting something, am I?
Tony: No, no, not at all.
I was just going over a few contracts.
Sami: Well, it is a bit
late for a visit.
Tony: As a master of fact,
I was thinking about you, Sami.
Sami: You were?
Tony: Yes, yours was the
first face I saw when I came out of that coma. It's nice that you're here. So,
is there something that I can do to help you?
Sami: As a matter of fact,
there is.
Brady: Nicole, Nicole.
Nicole: Brady, leave me
alone.
Brady: Not until you tell
me what's going on. Where are you going?
Man: Excuse me. I'm
looking for a Miss Nicole Walker.
Nicole: Th-that's me.
Brady: Hang on a second.
Who are you, and what do you want?
Nicole: Brady, it's all
right. I was expecting him. Thanks.
Man: If you'll just sign
here, ma'am.
Nicole: Yeah. Thanks. Um,
Brady, I, uh, I don't have my wallet. Could you take care of the tip?
Brady: Yeah. Here. What
was that all about?
Nicole: I don't have a red
cent. Pretty ironic, huh? But you can take it out of my paycheck.
Brady: That's not what I
meant, and you know it.
Nicole: Excuse me?
Brady: What's in the
envelope, Nicole?
Hope: Hey, Brady. Why dot
t we... both bring Zack over to your parents tomorrow morning? I mean, as much
as I hate the idea, I know it's the right thing to do. Bo?
Hope: Brady? Like sands
through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives. On saturdays morning
edition, we're off to old strathcona for the final weekend of the fringe - join
us starting at 8
Hope: Aah!
Bo: Easy, easy.
Hope: You scared me half
to death!
Bo: I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
Hope: I was talking to you
one minute, the next minute you were gone.
Bo: I just decided to
double-check the locks. It's okay.
Hope: You're lucky I
didn't grab your gun!
Bo: Everything is fine.
Look, it's an old house. It creaks a little bit. Not to worry. It's okay.
Hope: Something's wrong.
You're never this... this calm unless you're really scared, Brady.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Tony: So, how can I help?
What is it you need?
Sami: Well, you know that
I've been very upset since I lost my job.
Tony: Yes. Please. But it
wasn't the right job for you in the first place.
Sami: I really appreciated
your offer to advise me about the job market and stuff.
Tony: Hmm. So, what kind
of job is it you're interested in?
Sami: Fashion. I think I'd
be good at it.
Tony: Oh, dear. That's not
a profession which I'm involved.
Sami: I thought that I
could work at Basic Black.
Tony: And you've come to
for help? I don't understand.
Sami: Well, I did talk to
my mom, and she said that she would speak to John about it, but he and I do not
have the best relationship. I have tried to make inroads with him over the
years, but it's impossible. I just can't set aside my true feelings for him.
Tony: Which are?
Sami: I hate him. He is a
snake in the grass.
Tony: Surely not.
Sami: My family was just
fine until he showed up. We were a happy family, and then he slithered in and
wrapped himself around my mother like some big fat boa constrictor.
Tony: Ha ha ha ha!
Sami: Why is that so
funny?
Tony: Oh, I'm sorry. Um...
oh, you poor dear. I imagine you've always dreamed you would see your family
come together.
Sami: Well, of course I
have.
Tony: If you hate John
Black so much, why would you go to work at Basic Black? I could certainly give
you a loan, write you a check.
Sami: I couldn't do that.
Tony: Listen, no one needs
to know.
Sami: Thank you for the
offer, but I do need to have a job. I want to set a good example for my son, and
of course I have to make sure the courts know that I am a fit mother. The
problem is, I just don't know what I'd be good .. my favorite thing to do is
pick out clothes.
Tony: Well, I must say,
you look absolutely smashing tonight.
Sami: Well, thank you. It
has been a pretty sucky day.
Tony: Well, let me see
what I can do about persuading John. Maybe I can get him to listen. Certainly,
stranger things have happened.
Sami: You would? You'd do
that?
Tony: Yes. But you do
understand, that if you did go to work at Basic Black, you probably would have
to report to Kate Roberts.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Kate: Ha ha ha ha!
Roman: All right, there's
that smile.
Kate: Don't drop me.
Roman: No way would I ever
drop you, lady.
Kate: Stefano, please...
all right, all right, I'll do it, Stefano. I will do it. I will do anything you
want.
Roman: Kate, what's wrong?
Come on, talk to me. What's going on here? Tell me what's wrong.
Kate: I'm sorry. I can't
do this. Excuse me.
Marlena: Sure, Kate.
John: Sweetheart. You're
the love of my life, and I would do anything for you.
Marlena: Except hire Sami.
John: I hate to say
this...
Marlena: She's an
unreliable employee. You know, I know that.
John: Marlena, she was
fired from Salem University hospital for altering a paternity test. That's more
than just "unreliable."
Marlena: I voted against
her, remember?
John: And as a member of
the board, you absolutely did the right thing. Now, I feel for Sami. I really
do. And she and Will -- they're welcome in my house -- our house -- at our table
anytime. I just don't want to impose her upon my company.
Marlena: I've never asked
you for anything like this before. Please give her a job, John.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Brady: So, what's in the
envelope, Nicole?
Nicole: If I wanted you to
know, I would show you.
Brady: Come on, Nicole,
let's go.
Nicole: No, you come on. I
thought you respected my privacy, unlike my husband.
Brady: All right, fine.
You're right. It's just that you're acting really weird, okay? One minute you're
as giddy as a schoolgirl on the swing, and now you're --
Nicole: I love the swing.
I really do. Thank you for everything, Brady.
Victor: What's that?
Nicole: What's what?
Victor: In your hand. Show
me.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Bo: Nothing is wrong. Just
being practical, double-checking the locks.
Hope: Come on, Brady,
admit it. You're just as worried as I am.
Bo: I don't put any stock
in flickering candles and bad omens, if that's what you're trying to say.
Something goes bump in the night, I gotta check it out.
Hope: You and I both know
our attacker is still out there.
Bo: Yes, he is. But we're
not going to let him play on our fears. Now, whether it was Dimera or one of his
henchmen that attacked us, I am going to take care of it. I'm going to do
whatever it takes to protect you and our family.
Hope: I love you, Brady.
Bo: Yeah, I love you, too.
Now let's go upstairs and kiss our son and see if we cannot wake him up this
time.
Hope: Okay. Don't scare
me.
Bo: I'm not scaring you.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Man: Do you have a ticket,
ma'am?
Kate: Oh, yes, I do. Just
-- here you go.
Roman: No. No, the lady's
not going anywhere. Kate, we need to talk
Kate: There's nothing to
say.
Roman: Look, you can fight
with me, you can insult my taste, you can tell me off -- whatever. The one thing
I will not let you do is run away.
Kate: Roman, I am never
going to make you happy.
Roman: Kate, you already
make me happy. We love each other, don't you understand that? We focus on that
and forget everything else, we'll be just fine.
Kate: Forget everything
else? What, like Lucas and Sami?
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Marlena: Look, if Sami
goofs up, then you fire her, but at least give her a chance.
John: I don't want to talk
about this anymore.
Marlena: John, you're her
stepfather. You were there for her when Roman and I could not be. You raised
her.
John: Yeah, well, you know
what? That was a different time. I mean, she is not the same little girl that I
used to tuck into bed and read bedtime stories to.
Marlena: No, she's
changed. We've all changed. It doesn't mean we've got to change the way feel
about each other.
John: Well, she has. She
hates me.
Marlena: Don't say that.
John: Oh, stop, come on,
come on. She still blames me for breaking up your marriage to Roman. You know
it.
Marlena: No, she used that
as an excuse to stop growing up herself.
John: Perhaps. But the
anger is real. And I feel it burning a hole through me every time she looks my
way. All right? Okay.
Marlena: Yes, you're
right.
John: Yep.
Marlena: She is very
angry. I've got nobody to blame for that but myself.
John: Oh, now, don't --
don't even start that. Don't --
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Nicole: It's nothing.
Victor: Well, then you
won't mind handing it over.
Nicole: And if I do?
Victor: Have you forgotten
our little agreement already, Nicole? You're to be a doting and obedient wife.
Otherwise, the file exposing you as the killer of Colin Murphy could end up in
the wrong hands.
Nicole: Shh.
Victor: Do I have to give
you a time-out, hmm, lock you in your room? Hand over the envelope.
Brady: Oh, hi. Nicole.
Those are the, uh, blue note receipts, aren't they? Yeah, I asked Nicole to look
over those for me, make sure the bartender wasn't skimming off the top, you
know.
Nicole: I haven't really
finished.
Victor: Well, then, you'd
better get to work.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Victor: Let's have a
nightcap, Brady.
Brady: Granddad, I don't
get it.
Victor: What don't you
get, Brady?
Brady: Why do you lock
Nicole in her room? What the hell is that all about?
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Sami: Kate will most
certainly be a problem. Not only is she a bitch and a half, she's also with my
dad.
Tony: She also happens to
be one of your mother's best friends.
Sami: Which is probably
why my mom suggested that I get a job at Basic Black. She really thinks she can
keep me under her thumb that way.
Tony: You know, I don't
want to cause any problems between you and Marlena. Unless, of course...
Sami: What?
Tony: No, no, no. Never
mind.
Sami: Say it.
Tony: Ha ha ha ha. Sit.
Unless, of course, if we're looking at the bigger picture -- for you, I mean --
I always thought if you used your brain rather than running with your impulses,
you have the ability to become a force to be reckoned with.
Sami: Well, I like the
sound of that.
Tony: And now you have a
chance.
Sami: Of course if John
has his way, I won't get the job. He's probably paranoid that I'll use it to
destroy his relationship with my mother.
Tony: That's
understandable. I mean, just now you said to me your dream is to have your
parents reunite.
Sami: Well, of course.
Call me childish or just sentimental, but I think if my parents got back
together, everything would feel right again. If I can pull some strings and
convince my parents to remarry, everything else would just fall into place.
Tony: Hmm. Do you have a
plan?
Sami: Well, even if I do
manage to break up my mom and John, I'm going to have to figure out how to break
up Kate and my dad, too. But I have never understood what he sees in that slut.
I mean, she is the --
Tony: What? What?
Sami: I am going to be a
fabulous new member of the basically boring Black family. I just need to get
that job.
Tony: And that job you'll
have.
Sami: If you'll get it for
me. Tony, will you talk to John about hiring me, please?
Tony: Ha ha. Most
definitely.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Kate: Sami and I push each
other's buttons. We have a long history, and it's all bad.
Roman: That's the
operative word right there. History -- as in the past.
Kate: The past isn't so
very long ago.
Roman: That's where you're
wrong.
Kate: Oh, Roman, I wish I
were.
Roman: Kate, right here,
right now. You and me -- this night. What do you feel?
Kate: Don't ask.
Roman: Well, I feel the
heat between us, and I smell the jasmine in your perfume, and right now I'm
touching the fabric in your dress and wanting to just rip it off. And I'm
starting to fantasize about the future, like an hour from now... you in my bed.
Kate: It's not going to
happen.
Roman: Yeah, well, argue
with this.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Victor: I appreciate your
concern, Brady, but as I told you before, it's unwarranted.
Brady: You can't lock
Nicole up, granddad. There's a law against that sort of thing.
Victor: My wife has led a
very harem-scarem existence. She needs boundaries and lots of structure in order
to feel secure.
Brady: Uh, with all due
respect, granddad, hanging out with Nicole has made me realize something. She is
a wild bird, a free spirit, so to speak. She needs outdoors, wide-open spaces --
Victor: That's why my
little sparrow of a wife needs to have her wings clipped.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Bo: Sleeping like a log
very peacefully.
Hope: I can't help but
envy him -- not a care in the world.
Bo: Yeah. I'm going to
make sure it stays that way -- for him and you.
[ Crash ]
Hope: What was that?
Bo: I don't know. You stay
up here with Zack. I'm going to check this out.
Hope: Be careful, Brady.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Brady: Granddad, let me
ask you something. When Nicole was your number two at Titan, you trusted her.
She came through for you time and time again.
Victor: Your point?
Brady: Why did it all
change? Why do you want to clip her wings? You two were so in love, and then
after the wedding, it was never the same. Why is that?
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
(Victor’s flashback)
Nicole: Give me that!
Victor: Ha ha ha. Did you
really think that was the only copy, Nicole? I have got tons of dirt on you. I
mean, I got the original of all these documents, plus I have the videotape of
you and Colin making love. It's all down in the safe.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Victor: Our priorities
changed, that's all. Maybe that's difficult for someone of your generation to
understand.
Brady: No, it's not that I
don't understand it, I don't buy it. You two are miserable with each other.
Victor: If my blushing
bride were all that miserable, why doesn't she just leave?
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Nicole: Okay. Plan number
two. Nicole has left the building.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Marlena: You know, John,
you really are a hypocrite.
John: Ha. A hypocrite?
How's that?
Marlena: When Brady came
back to Salem, he was a lot like Sami.
John: Mm. No way. No way.
Marlena: Yeah, he was. He
was deeply troubled at that point.
John: No, he was dealing
with some problems. He, um, was dealing with some old resentments over losing
his mother, and unfortunately, he blamed you. That was what that was about.
Marlena: How did you deal
with that?
John: I gave him a job at
Basic Black.
Marlena: Oh, that was good
for him. That taught him responsibility, he was able to mature.
John: Listen, he was open
to the challenge, and he had motivation.
Marlena: I'd say Sami's
pretty motivated. Her son. She's got to put food on the table to feed Will.
John: Yeah, I really don't
think you and I are going to let them starve.
Marlena: What about her
self-respect? What about her custody status?
John: Well, you know, she
should have thought about that before she committed a criminal act against Lexie
and Abe, shouldn't she?
Marlena: Oh, John, please.
John: No. Now, what part
of that don't you understand?
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
[ Footsteps ]
Bo: Hope?
Hope: Bo!
Bo: Oh! A shutter was
loose.
Hope: You're kidding.
Bo: No. It was flapping in
the breeze, hitting up against the house.
Hope: Talk about
overreacting, huh?
Bo: Yeah. Put this away. I
don't want the tiny man getting to it.
Hope: Oh, Brady. God, your
heart is beating so fast.
Bo: At the hospital, I
almost lost you. I'm sorry.
Hope: For what?
Bo: Well, for not
protecting you. For letting my guard down at the fashion show.
Hope: You have nothing to
apologize for.
Bo: I can't let anything
like that happen again, not for a second. We could both wind up dead.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Brady: Oh, Henderson. You
haven't seen Nicole around, have you?
Henderson: No, sir.
Brady: Well, I thought she
was in her room, but when I knocked, there was no answer.
Henderson: If I run into
her, is there anything you would like me to convey?
Brady: No, not really. I'm
just worried about her, that's all.
Henderson: You seem very
concerned about Mrs. Kiriakis' welfare these days.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Victor: What is it?
Nico: [ Whispers ]
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Nicole: Excuse me. When do
we take off?
Woman: As soon as they
finish loading the baggage, ma'am.
Nicole: Thanks. The
sooner, the better.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Roman: Well, Maggie, we're
on our way out. Uh, how much do I owe you?
Maggie: Uh, Roman, Kate,
listen, before you go, could you perform a little peacekeeping mission?
Roman: What are you
talking about?
Maggie: I mean, it's such
a lovely evening to have it go up in smoke. Couldn't you do something?
Kate: Well, I could ask
John to dance.
Maggie: Thanks.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
John: You know --
Kate: Could you take me --
could I take him for a second? Could you give me just a quick spin around the
dance floor?
John: What a great idea.
Roman: Well, um, at the
risk of butting in where I probably shouldn't, is there a problem?
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Marlena: Uh, I asked John
if he would give Sami a job at Basic Black, and he's refused.
Roman: Can't say I blame
him. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
John: That's a nice save.
Kate: Mm. So, you want to
tell me about it?
John: Nah.
Kate: Look, I'll be glad
to help if I can.
John: Well, there is
this... person Marlena wants me to hire on at Basic Black, and... I think it's a
terrible idea.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Marlena: I think it's
perfect for Sami. She's always enjoyed fashion, and this could be a real career
for her.
Roman: Doc, look, I love
our daughter very much, but hurricanes could be named after her. She causes
major chaos wherever she goes.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Kate: So this person that
Marlena wants you to hire --
John: Oh, by the way, I
said no, so...
Kate: Well, I'm very
familiar with a lot of people in the fashion and the publishing worlds. Is it
someone that I know?
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Tony: It may take a little
finagling on my part, but I think I'm confident enough that I can help you land
a job at Basic Black.
Sami: Really, Tony? That
is so amazing. Thank you for coming to my rescue again. I don't know how to
thank you.
Tony: Ah, it's my
pleasure. I live to make you happy. Ha ha.
Sami: Ahem. Well, look at
the time. I have to go. You need to rest, recover from your injuries. I'll see
you soon.
Tony: Yes, yes. [ Chuckles
] Ah, well...
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Bart: Boss, anything I can
get you before I turn in?
Tony: Thanks, but I think
I have everything I need tonight.
Bart: Sir, I couldn't help
overhearing.
Tony: That's -- that's a
surprise, yeah.
Bart: John Black has
accused you of attempted murder. Now, how are you going convince him to give
Sami Brady a job?
Tony: I'm not.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Bo: I don't mean to scare
you.
Hope: It's okay. Hey, we
have to face the facts and admit what we're dealing with.
Bo: The fact is, someone's
trying to kill us, and the only way to stop them is to catch them.
Hope: Brady, what I went
through with Larry Welch -- him stalking me all those months -- I can't go
through that again. I won't.
Bo: You don't have to. I'm
gonna protect you and our family at all costs. So, the decision is definite.
Hope: What?
Bo: Well, like I said,
we're putting the bounty hunting business on hold as of now.
Bo: We spent a lot of
money getting things started -- buying a new SUV and everything. We're probably
in the hole.
Hope: Hey, wait a minute.
Bo: Hmm?
Hope: I have some good
news, Brady.
Bo: What?
Hope: I called and checked
on my stock portfolio. Things are starting to look up.
Bo: Well, that's just
great, but we're not touching that money. It's for the boys.
Hope: Yeah. You mentioned
something earlier about taking a job as a security guard.
Bo: Yeah, a buddy of mine
retired from the force. He's a detective -- or was a detective. He, um, opened
his new agency. Always looking for people to work at night. That would give me
my days free to track down our assailant, and I'd be here in Salem with you and
the boys.
Hope: As long as we have
each other, we will make ends meet one way or the other, Brady.
Bo: Yes, we will. Keeping
our family together -- that's all that matters.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Brady: Henderson, of
course I'm concerned about Nicole's welfare. She's my grandfather's wife. I just
want her to be happy.
Henderson: Whatever you
say, sir. I didn't mean to imply anything --
Brady: Good night,
Henderson. Oh, where's the fire?
Victor: You stay out of
it.
Brady: Nicole.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Woman: Are you afraid of
flying?
Nicole: No. No, I'm just,
uh...
[ Thump ]
Nicole: What was that?
Woman: It's okay. They
just closed the baggage door.
Woman on P.A.: Ladies and
gentlemen, we're next in line for takeoff. Flight attendants, prepare for
departure.
Nicole: Yes! I made it.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
John: Do you really want
to know? I'll tell you.
Kate: You know something?
I don't want to know. Don't tell me. Whoever Marlena wants you to hire, that's
your business, and I'm going to stay out of it.
John: Probably just as
well.
Kate: You look miserable.
John: You think? It's not
easy for me to say no to doc.
Kate: You know something?
If this is going to be such a stumbling block in your relationship, why don't
you just let me help? There's no job right now, but I could talk to human
resources, and maybe they could create a position.
John: Ha ha ha ha ha. You
could live to regret that one.
Kate: You know something?
If there's one thing I learned in my marriage to Victor, it's that you should
never, ever let work come between you and the person you love.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Roman: All right, doc.
Let's say Sami does go to work for John, and true to form, she makes one bad
decision after another. Do you really want that kind of stress between your
husband and you?
Marlena: She wouldn't be
working that closely with John. And he's only there part-time, anyway.
Roman: Yeah, but Kate is
there full-time, and given her relationship with Sami, that could blow up real
fast. Look, I -- I'm just saying I think it's a bad idea to force our daughter
on John and Kate.
Marlena: Maybe you're
right.
Roman: I believe I am.
Marlena: Maybe Sami will
have to work this out all by herself.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
John: I don't know, Kate.
I appreciate the offer, but...
Kate: Hey, you're not
going to have to work with them. I'll teach them the ropes. I'll make sure they
fit in.
John: That could prove to
be pretty difficult.
Kate: Oh, believe me, I
can whip anyone into shape.
John: That's a fact.
Kate: Why don't you just
let me do this for you and Marlena?
John: God knows it would
make her happy. And it would get me out of hot water.
Kate: Then I insist. [
Thinking ] How difficult can this person be?
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Sami: [ Humming ]
Sami: [ Clears throat ]
Sami: [ Humming ]
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Brady: Nicole, you in
there?
Brady: Looks like
Granddad’s little sparrow has flown away after all.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Nicole: Why aren't we
moving?
Woman: I don't know.
Victor: Why don't you ask
me? Did you really think you could escape me, Nicole?
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Hope: Okay, so what's the
game plan? How are we going to track down the person who tried to kill us,
Brady?
Bo: Well, for starters,
we're gonna keep a low profile. While I hit the streets -- ouch -- you are going
to keep an eye on Zack.
Hope: Excuse me?
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Bart: Boss, if you're not
the one to get Sami Brady hired at Basic Black, well, then who is?
Tony: It's a game. If Sami
gets the job, she'll feel beholden to me. If she doesn't, she'll be upset with
John, and she'll come running back to me. Although I don't think that will
happen. I can't see my brother John not granting his precious Marlena her wish.
And either way, it's a win-win situation.
Bart: Swingin'.
Tony: All right, swinging.
But Sami Brady is as good as mine.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Sami: Much better.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Roman: Well, all right. Do
you think I could steal my date back now?
John: No problem. Thanks
again for the save. Hmm hmm.
mMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Marlena: Hmm. Did you have
a nice visit with Kate?
John: Yeah, I did. And I
have some news for you.
Marlena: You too? Okay.
What's yours? You go first.
John: You win. Sami's got
a job at Basic Black.
Marlena: Oh, John! Thanks,
than..

(On the next Days of Our
Lives)
Kate: What? The person you
hired is Sami?
Sami: How sad for poor
John and Kate. Haven't they learned anything? If they play with fire, they're
going to get burned.
