By Eric
Brady: Merry christmas, chloe.
Chloe: Mmm... is it morning?
Brady: You wanna go see what santa brought you?
Chloe: He already brought me the best gift of all.
Nancy: [Clears throat]
Nancy: Mmm.
Craig: Mmm. Hey.
[Groans] Merry christmas, sweetheart.
Nancy: Merry christmas. Oh, craig, I had the most amazing dream. I dreamed that you and I...
Craig: Mnh-mnh. That was no dream, nancy.
Nancy: Really? It's true?
Craig: You and i
are chloe's parents,
now and forever.
How's that
for a christmas miracle,
sweetie?
Nancy: I love you.
Henderson: Happy holidays, madam.
Kate: Bah humbug. Get victor out here.
Henderson: I'm afraid mr. Kiriakis cannot be disturbed.
Kate: Oh, and drop the "masterpiece theatre" imitation. Henderson, I am not impressed.
Victor: Who let the cat in, henderson?
Kate: I can't believe you're just sitting here like you don't have a care in the world. Where's your live-in hooker? Oh, I'm sorry -- your blushing-bride-to-be?
Victor: Nicole is having
breakfast in bed.
Henderson prepared her favorite
foie gras omelet this morning.
Are you jealous?
Kate: Oh, believe me, I could care less what your mistress puts into her mouth. I'm here to find out if you talked philip out of his insane plan to join the marines.
Philip: I'm leaving today. And there's nothing either of you can say to stop me.
Jennifer: Okay.
Jack: Well, looks like we've got another one here for...abigail.
Jennifer: Another one for abby? That's not fair.
Jack: Please. I saw plenty of presents over there with your name on them, little girl, so let's try to be patient.
Jennifer: I will,
and it's a good thing,
'cause I don't think
I will ever outgrow
ripping the paper
off these packages.
Jack: Speaking of ripping off, I don't see much ripping off going on down here. What's the matter, abigail? Open too many presents already?
Abby: I already got the thing that I most wanted -- my mom and dad both with me on christmas morning.
Abe: Here is your very special christmas coffee.
Lexie: Mmm, thank you, honey. When I woke up this morning and realized that I was back in our bed, I thought, "oh, please, don't let me wake up from this dream."
Abe: Hold that thought.
Lexie: No, no, stay. Stay. I don't want you to be where I can't touch you.
Abe: Oh, no, this will be
worth it, I promise you.
I promise.
Abe: This is for you.
Lexie: Oh. Honey.
Abe: Merry christmas, sweetheart.
Lexie: Merry christmas.
Bo: Yeah.
Hope: Hi, honey. Merry christmas, sweetie
Bo: The last present for zack.
Hope: Hey, zack, do you like it, sweetie?
Shawn-D: Hey, zack, show 'em your cars, bud. Show 'em your cars.
Hope: Right here.
Bo: Hey.
Hope: What?
Bo: I think we got another steven spielberg here.
Shawn-D: Hey.
Bo: I told you giving him that camera was a bad idea.
Hope: No, why do you think didid my hair and makeup
before I came down?
Bo: Oh, look at you.
Shawn-D: You two are going to be thanking me when I make you both stars. Now come on, we got to see all of zack's presents.
Hope: Okay, look. Zack got this. Oh, let me show you what I got also. What do you think? I got this beautiful shawl. Do you think it's my color?
Bo: All right, can we turn that thing off n??
Shawn-D: Come on, dad, you just look so great in that red robe.
Bo: Turn it off. Yeah, my new christmas robe?
[Doorbell rings]
Shawn-D: I know who that is. Merry christmas!
Belle: Merry christmas.
Shawn-D: Wow, you know what?
The camera loves you, babe.
Belle: Really? The camera loves me?
Shawn-D: Mm-hmm. And so do I.
Hope: Okay, hey, there's one more gift left.
Bo: Zack and I will get it.
Hope: Okay.
Bo: Let's go get the present. Come on, come on, come on.
Hope: No.
Colin: Hey, uncle shawn, aunt caroline. Thank you for coming to help us set up for the children's christmas party.
Caroline: Oh, we wouldn't miss it.
Shawn: Yeah, we do it every year. Ahh!
Roman: Hey, ma!
Where's santa?
I got goodies
for him to deliver.
Caroline: What are you, an elf?
Roman: Yeah, and I'm happy to be one. I'll put these under the tree.
Caroline: Great.
Maggie: Ho ho ho! Merry christmas! Ho ho ho! Feliz navidad. Hello. We mad it.
Shawn: Mickey, she's stealing your line, you know?
Maggie: No, I'm not. Mickey, show them how you say it.
Caroline: Mickey, what is wrong?
Maggie: Laryngitis.
Roman: Wait a minute, wait. No, you can't have laryngitis. You got to read the christmas story to the kids.
Shawn: Right. Merry christmas.
Bo: Hey, what's wrong?
Hope: Nothing.
Never mind. I --
hey, zack, what?
No more presents, honey?
Bo: What, you don't think he's got enough?
Belle: Actually, there are more presents. There are lots more. Merry christmas.
Bo: Whoa, merry christmas.
Hope: Merry christmas, Belle.
Bo: We're going to have to add a room to this house for all these presents.
Shawn-D: You know we haven't even had breakfast yet 'cause we had to open so many presents for zack? Wanna help me in the kitchen?
Blele: Okay.
Shawn-D: Okay.
Bo: Come over here. Let's sit this up right over here.
Hope: Mommy will help. That little puppy is so...
Belle: Okay, so, what do you want to make?
Belle: Ayay, so this whole
breakfast thing was just
to get me alone in the kitchen?
Shawn-D: No, we haven't eaten breakfast yet, but, uh, yeah, basically. And to give you this.
Belle: Ooh.
Shawn-D: I had to think very hard about what you really wanted for christmas. I hope you like it.
Belle: Oh, you got me money.
Shawn-D: Open it.
Belle: You got me a door?
Shawn-D: Open it.
Belle: Ha ha ha. A-a room for two? You mean...
Shawn-D: I called the salem inn... made a reservation. It's all set. Unless, uh, unless you don't think that's okay.
Belle: Okay? I don't think I can wait that long.
Hope: Mmm.
Bo: I told the saleslady wife had an amazing neck.
Hope: Such an exaggerator.
Bo: And so I needed an amazing necklace.
Hope: Oh, it's beautiful.
Bo: Mm-hmm.
Hope: Yeah, I'm gonna have to start calling you "the jewelry king."
Bo: Oh, yeah, right.
Hope: Yeah, with all of the gorgeous gifts you've been giving me.
Bo: Think I'm spoiling you now, you just wait.
Hope: What are you talking about? Did you get me something else?
Bo: I'm not telling.
Hope: Oh, just a little hint. That is really cruel.
Bo: Come here. Give me a smooch.
Brady: Uhh.
Oh, bring that coffee over here.
Chloe: It's gourmet. Craig gets these beautiful gift baskets for christmas from some of his rich patients. Hey, can I make you something? Some cinnamon toast, or maybe some waffles?
Brady: I am not really hungry for food right now. Is this the best christmas morning you've ever had?
Chloe: Yes.
Brady: Me too.
Chloe: And last night was the best christmas eve I've ever had.
Brady: I know. You know, I'll never be able to look at a christmas tree again without remembering us. Do we have time to... you know?
Chloe: Mm.
I really want to make it
to the hospital
before nancy's released.
Brady: Okay. Well, you better get yourself put together. We don't want to shock the hospital staff.
Kate: Well, I called your sister and brother, and they're on their way over. I didn't tell them about your plan, because I'm hoping you'll change your mind.
Philip: Mom, it's too late.
I'm signed up.
It's a done deal.
Look, I don't know
if you can understand this,
but it's not like I think
I'm a bad person.
But I am selfish,
like a lot of kids my age are.
Only that doesn't work
for the world we live in today.
And you're right.
This is a dangerous time, mom.
Our country may go to war.
You know, people in other
countries are starving.
Some people here in this country
don't even have a place to live.
I just -- I want to help
make things better.
Kate: Darling -- darling, your father and I, we give tons of money to worthy causes. You don't have to put your life on the line.
Philip: No, no, you don't get it, mom. This is something I want to do.
Victor: And I applaud you for it, son.
Kate: Victor!
Victor: I stayed up late last night thinking about this move of yours. And aside from the fact that I'm going to miss you, I came to the conclusion that what you're doing takes a lot of guts, and I'm damn proud of you.
Philip: Thanks, dad. How about it, mom? Aren't you even a little bit proud of me?
Kate: I'm scared.
Billie: Hello, victor.
Victor: Hello, billie.
Philip: Hi.
Billie: Hey, mom, what's wrong?
Lucas: What's going on, victor? Hey, philip, something happen?
Henderson: Will you be needing anything else, sir?
Victor: No, thank you, henderson. You go ahead and enjoy your day with your sister's family. That's what today's all about, after all -- family.
Henderson: Yes, sir. Goodbye, philip.
Philip: Hey, henderson, take care of this guy, would you?
Billie: Excuse me,
but will somebody tell me
what's going on here?
Why is everybody saying
goodbye to philip?
Lucas: Yeah, what's up?
Philip: I joined the marines. I'm leaving today.
Lucas: Wait a minute. You're joking, right? Come on, man, you're joking.
Philip: Check it out.
Lucas: Oh, man.
Billie: Oh, my God, you did this.
Philip: Yeah.
Billie: You really did it.
Philip: Yeah. Dad's okay with it, so I hope you will be, too. Mom's not, though. How about it, mom? You coming around?
Craig: Some miracle, huh, getting to take you home for christmas?
Nancy: You can't
get me there fast enough.
Now, maybe when we get there,
you can tell me all about you
being chloe's biological father.
Craig: You can trust the results.
Nancy: Really? You're sure there hasn't been some mistake?
Chloe: What mistake?
Nancy: Um... well, I can't get over the fact they're letting me go home today. Want a hug?
Chloe: Mm. Yes.
Nancy: Oh, gosh.
Craig: What?
Chloe: What's the matter?
Nancy: Ha ha ha. Our little soccer player just gave me a real kick. There's another one. Feel, feel. There.
Chloe: Oh, my gosh, it must feel so weird.
Nancy: It does, but it's also
incredibly beautiful.
It was with you, too.
Craig: Um, excuse me, may I, um, get in on some of this action here?
Nancy: Right -- right there.
Craig: Ho ho! There you go! She is moving around! Go, kiddo, go!
Nancy: No, no, don't encourage her!
Chloe: Craig, this must be so incredible for you -- your own child to love. It's all so new.
Craig: Not really.
Chloe: Is it just me, or is something strange going on here?
Brady: Don't look at me.
Craig: Llll tell you what. Why don't we get your mom home? And when we're all comfortable and relaxed, nancy and i have something to tell you. Brady, could you wheel that out, and you get your mom's coat?
Brady: Yeah.
Craig: Thanks, sweetheart.
Shawn-D: Hey! Merry christmas, mimi!
Belle: Merry christmas, mimi.
Shawn-D: Hey, what's --
Belle: Put the camera away. You're scaring everyone. What's wrong with you? You don't look happy.
Mimi: I just got the weirdest phone call from philip, you guys. He said that he wanted us to go over to his dad's house right away. I don't know, I just have this really strange feeling.
Belle: Okay, okay, we'll get our coats.
Shawn-D: Mom, dad --
Hope: Please, go ahead. We'll see you later. Merry christmas.
Belle: We'll see you guys later.
Bo: Merry christmas.
Jack: Okay, I told you we were gonna be late.
Jennifer: Just go put your present under the tree.
Jack: It's okay. All right. All right. We're gonna go to the tree.
Jennifer: Roman, hi. Did we miss it?
Roman: No, you didn'T. This thing's running a little late.
Jennifer: Oh. Is there a problem?
Roman: Oh, yeah.
Jack: Good, good, good, good, good, good.
Abby: I put on the card that it's for a girl. I hope she's not too sick, daddy.
Jack: Oh, I hope so, too, abigail.
I hope so, too.
I'll tell you something.
Whoever gets your present
is gonna love it.
Colin: Can I speak with you privately?
Jennifer: Oh, uh, yeah, you know what? Now's not really a good time. I'm here with my family. But maybe after the party.
Shawn: I can't believe it happened.
Maggie: Ah, well, his spirit is willing, but his voice -- it's just plain gone.
Shawn: Oh, my God.
Alice: Well, someone will have to ready the story for the children.
Caroline: It would be lovyy to have you do it, alice.
Craig: Ho ho!
Alice: Oh, hello. Merry christmas.
Caroline: Merry christmas!
Alice: I know just the person.
Caroline: Look at the santa.
Isn't it great?
Nancy: Nice to see you. Merry christmas.
Chloe: Hello, mrs. Horton. My mother is going home for christmas. Isn't that wonderful?
Alice: That's just perfect, and so are you.
>>Hloe: Excuse me?
Maggie: Every year there's a tradition that someone reads the christmas story to the children who have to stay in the hospital over the holidays. So it looks like it's you this year.
Chloe: Why me?
Alice: Well, because you have firsthand knowledge of miracles in your life. So... do it for the children.
Nancy: For me, too,
and for your baby sister.
Brady: You know, chloe, you were in the hospital, too, once. You might be just the medicine these kids need.
Chloe: I would be really happy to read to the children.
Maggie: Oh, wonderful. Just wonderful. Such a great choice. the'juidout there.
Chloe: If you've heard
this story before,
you know how wonderful it is.
And if you haven't,
or if your family follows
a different religion,
then this story will still
give you something
to think about.
"At that time,
the roman emperor augustus
decreed that a census
should be taken
throughout the roman empire.
All returned to their own towns
to register for this census."
A census is when they count
all the people living
in the towns.
"And because joseph
was a descendant of king david,
he had to go to bethlehem
in judea, david's ancient home.
Heraraveled there
from the village of nazareth
in galilee.
He took with him mary,
his fiancée, who was obviously
pregnant by this time.
And while they were there,
the time came for her baby
to be born.
She gave birth
to her first child, a son.
She wrapped him snugly
in strips of cloth
and laid him in a manger,
because there was no room
for them in the village inn.
That night, some shepherds
were in the fields
outside the village
guarding their flocks of sheep.
Suddenly, an angel of the lord
appeared among them,
and the radiance of the lord's
glory surrounded them.
They were terribly frightened,
but the angel reassured them.
'Don't be afraid,' he said.
'I bring you good news
of great joy for everyone.
The savior -- yes, the messiah,
the lord -- has been born
tonight in bethlehem,
the city of david.
And this is how you will
recognize him.
You will find a baby
lying in a manger,
wrapped snugly
in strips of cloth.'
Suddenly, the angel was joined
by a vast host of others,
the armies of heaven
praising God.
'Glory to God
in the highest heaven,
and peace on earth
to all whom God favors.'"
[Applause]
Mimi: You're joining the army?!
Philip: The marines.
Belle: The marines, mimi.
Mimi: Are you crazy? Do you know what kind of danger you're gonna be in like every day? You could get shot at! You could even get... oh, my God, I can't even say it.
Shawn-D: All right, take it easy, mimi.
Philip: I'm going tgo serve my country. Is that really so bad?
Mimi: It is if we never get to see you again.
Belle: Philip, I think
what mimi's trying to say
is that we're really
going to miss you.
I mean, we've all been together
since before we could walk,
and now you're kind of
breaking up the gang.
Shawn-D: It's just gonna be weird not being able to hang out with you. But I think what you're doing is really cool. It's a good thing.
Mimi: Okay, I'm calm now. Well, not calm, but... whwhat kind of friend would I be if I didn't support you? We'll write you letters, philip, and we'll send you your favorite cookies from .Com, I promise. Oh, my God, you are going to look so amazing in a uniform. Hey, if you make any good friends, like really nice guys, I could write them, too.
Belle: Mimi.
Mimi: What? It's my patriotic duty. And you never know, right?
Philip: Ha ha.
I will keep my eyes open
for a really cool guy, mimi.
Belle: I'll pray that you come home safely.
Philip: All rightththank you. And thanyou for everything you've done, especially these past few years. Thanks. I'll see you, man.
Shawn-D: Take care, bro.
Philip: I love you guys.
Belle: We love you, too, phil.
Colin: I'm going to miss this tradition.
Jennifer: Why is that? Are you going somewhere?
Colin: Back to ireland.
Jennifer: What?
Colin: Yeah, I wish you and abby could come with me.
Jennifer: Uh, I don't know what to say.
Colin: Think about it
before our next date.
We are still getting together,
aren't we?
Just the two of us?
Jennifer: Yes, yes, we are. Uh, not today. Abby wants us to spend the day as a family.
Colin: I understand.
Jennifer: But soon, I promise.
Colin: Great.
Colin: I'll see you soon then.
Jack: Let's get abigail and get out of here.
Jennifer: What? What happened to your christmas spirit, jack?
Jack: Let's just get our coats and go. Come on, we gotta go.
Abe: Hey, hey, hey, partner.
Roman: Hey, hey!
Abe: Merry christmas to you.
Roman: Hey, have some of mom's rum cake there. It'll do amazing things to you.
[Laughter]
Abe: Hey, merry christmas
to you, sir.
Yes, sir, yes.
Caroline: Merry christmas.
Abe: Hey, my dear, merry christmas to you.
Caroline: Hey, merry christmas, abe.
Abe: Well, this must be a very merry christmas for the bradys, huh?
Bo: Yes, it is.
Hope: The best. The best, abe.
Abe: Ah, that's great.
Hope: I'm so glad you're here.
Abe: Oh, thank you so much. And I've got a gift for this little guy right here. Not yet, no. I'll put that right there.
Bo: More. Mor
Abe: And one from lexie,
too.
Uh, you know, she's outside.
She knows
she's not welcome here.
But if it's okay,
I'd like to give zack her gift.
Hope: No.
[Knock on door]
Kate: What is it?
Roman: Well, I came to say merry christmas, but, uh...
Kate: Please don't even talk to me about christmas, okay? Because this is one of the worst days of my life.
Roman: What are you talking about? What happened?
Kate: Well, my son is leaving salem.
Roman: Lucas or philip?
Kate: Philip. Before you congratulate me because he's going away to college, no, he's not. He's going off to basic training or boot camp or whatever the hell it is they call it in the marines.
Roman: The marines?
Damn, that's the last kid
I ever figured would join up.
Well...
good for him.
Philip: Dad, I need you to do a favor for me.
Victor: Name it.
Philip: Look after mom. I don't mean to get back together with her. I know that's not in the cards, and I'm okay with that... finally. But... you loved her once and she loved you, and that means something. I know it would to me.
Victor: You have my word, son.
[Doorbell rings]
Victor: Well, merry christmas, brady.
Brady: Merry christmas, Grandpa.
Victor: Chloe, you're looking well.
Chloe: Thank you.
I'm feeling terrific.
Philip, I hope you don't mind.
Belle called me.
Philip: So you know I'm leaving?
Chloe: Yeah. And I can't believe you weren't even going to say goodbye.
Philip: I didn't really think you'd care.
Chloe: Do you mind if I talk with philip alone for a minute? If that's okay with you, mr. Kiriakis.
Victor: If it's all right with my son.
P philip: Yeah, sure.
Victor: If you really keep it to a minute, brady and I will wait outside. I'll have the car brought around, son.
Coeoe: So... when does your plane leave?
Philip: Bus. I go this afternoon.
Chloe: Philip, you're not
joining the marines
because things didn't work out
with us, are you?
Philip: Maybe. Maybe a little, when I first started thinking about going, but... it's way more than that now. This is the first thing I've done -- maybe ever -- that's felt really good and righ
Chloe: Well, this feels right to me -- just being friends. I don't know. Maybe we had to go through all the bad things just to get to a good place with each other. I hope we can always be friends, philip.
Philip: Me too.
Chloe: I'm going to miss you a lot.
Philip: Yeah.
Abe: Look, you have
every right to be protective
of zack,
but there is more to all this.
Hope: You said lexie's outside?
Abe: Yeah.
Hope: Good.
Bo: Abe. Let her handle this.
Hope: Lexie? I hear you have a gift for my son.
Lexie: Yeah, I do.
Hope: Zack's inside. Why don't you go inside and give it to him yourself? Come on. It's cold out here. Come on, lex, let's go.
Hope: Hey, everybody,
look who's here.
Hey, zack,
hey, sweetheart,
your uncle abe
and auntie lexie came here
to wish you a very
merry christmas.
What do you think?
Think you can give 'em
one of youvery best
holiday hugs,
huh, sweetheart?
Lexie: Oh, zack.
Abe: Yeah, come here, big boy, yeah. Yeah.
Lexie: Hi, sweetheart.
Abe: Ha ha ha ha.
Lexie: Oh, thlipstick.
Philip: Lately I feel like everything's been giving me a sign -- like you being healthy and, uh, your mom getting better. Knowing u're okay makes it easy to go. Things are going to work out for chloe. Call it my man intuition -- ha ha ha ha -- but you're going to get your bone marrow transplant. And when you have your opening night at the met, I'll be there.
Chloe: Promise?
Philip: Yeah.
Chloe: I want you to keep this with you.
Philip: No, no, I wanted you to have that.
Chloe: I will. You'll give it back to me when you come home. Is it a deal?
Philip: It's a deal.
Philip: Goodbye, chloe lane. God bless you.
Chloe: And God bless you and keep you, philip kiriakis. Until we meet again.
Philip: Until we meet again.
Philip: Bye.
Roman: What I'm saying here is this -- philip has been drifting a little bit. He could use some toughening up. I guarantee you this, when he does come back, he'll be a man.
Kate: Yeah,
if he does come back.
We may be going to war.
Roman: Which is exactly why we need gutsy, intelligent young guys like philip joininupup.
Kate: I just feel like all of my children are leaving me. Austin went off to new york, now philip's going away... I just feel like no one needs me.
Roman: Well, that's just not true, because I need you... right now.
Belle: You know, it wasn't that long ago that I thought philip and chloe were going to be together forever.
Shawn-D: I never thought that philip and chloe were that right for each other, unlike us.
Belle: Still, it's probably
a good thing that they never...
you know, went for it.
Shawn-D: You're not -- you're not having second thoughts about us going for it, are you?
Belle: Are you?
Shawn-D: No, no. We're not like philip and chloe. We will be together forever, and I want forever to start this new year's eve.
Belle: So do I.
Jennifer: Colin said that he was going back to ireland. I had to pretend that I was still interested in him. We are running out of time.
Jack: As long as you wear the police wire.
Jennifer: I'm going to wear that wear, believe me. I'm not going to do anything to risk my life.
Jack: I'm glad to hear it.
Jennifer: Oh...
Abe: Okay, here you go.
Yeah...
there you are, big guy.
Bo: Okay, got you.
Abe: Yes, indeed. Okay, now, I hope you like this. I hope you like it.
Hope: Zack, look what abe got for you.
Bo: Open it up. Get rid of your snowman. Whoa!
Hope: You want me to help you? Oh! Here, mommy --
[Gasps] Oh, very cool!
Abe: We're going to go outside and throw it around, see how strong your arm is.
Bo: It's a cannon, I guarantee you.
Abe: Ha ha ha ha.
Hope: Thank you.
Abe: Look at that.
Lexie: Hope, um,
I don't know
what to say,
except thank you.
Thank you
from the bottom of my heart.
Hope: I think it's time to move forward, don't you? Merry christmas.
Lexie: Merry christmas. Um, excuse me. May I have everyone's attention, please?
Shawn: Huh?
Lexie: I think that abe
will agree that, um,
after a time of great darkness,
we're finding that our
prayers are being answered.
For one thing, um,
my husband and i
are back together,
which is truly a blessing.
And, um,
another miracle --
hope has opened her heart
to us,
to me.
I had really given up
on ever being forgiven for all
the terrible things that I did.
And be forgiven by abe
and hope
really is --
it's just a dream come true.
And, um, there's more...
Shawn: Ha ha ha ha.
Lexie: I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm just so overwhelmed by all the miracles that I've beeneceiving. Um, abe and i are having a baby.
Caroline: That's wonderful.
Lexie: Yeah, we're expecting a little boy.
Shawn: Oh, that's great! Now, listen, this calls for a toast.
Caroline: Yeah.
Shawn: It does. Drinks are on the house for all bradys and all friends of the bradys. All right! Ha ha ha ha!
Maggie: I am so happy to hear that.
Bo: I'm very proud of you.
Hope: It's the christmas spirit.
Bo: Maybe.
Maybe it's your beautiful
spirit.
This is the best christmas ever.
You know what?
I think next year's
going to be even better.
Ooh, let's get some 'nog.
Colin: Soon, cousin bo, soon.
Caroline: Everybody, uh, raise your glasses, one and all, and drink a toast to abe and lexie's new baby and to the baby born in bethlehem long ago whose birthday we celebrate today.
Hope: Merry christmas, everyone!
Marlena: Not so bad having a quiet little Christmas, huh?
John: Not so bad.
Bo: Happy anniversary, fancy face.
Larry: Cheers!
