Philip: Lucas. Thanks for coming all the way over here, man.

Lucas: No problem. Hey, you know what? I'm not going to be around later but I did want to come by and give you some keys.

Philip: Oh, thanks.

Lucas: Yeah. You need help with your stuff, look me up. I'm your man.

Philip: What stuff? On the bright side, I won't take up very much room. I mean, you already got billie and will, right? Are you sure it's okay if I crash with you?

Lucas: It's fine, man. Billie's hardly ever there, seriously.

Philip: And it's not going to be forever. It's just going to be until I save up enough money, okay?

Lucas: Philip, I said it was cool. Relax. Give me a chance to be a big brother here, all right? You know, mom -- she kind of pulled that military discipline routine thing on me. Pretty safe to say it backfired. But you -- you got to go to a coed high school. Not bad.

Philip: Yeah...

Lucas: Listen, I want you to know that I am really sorry about chloe.

Philip: Thank you. But I believe chloe is going to be okay. I'm going to get her back, and I'm going to beat the odds, just like you did.

Belle: Shawn, it's just a discussion group. I could totally blow it off. Okay. I'll come over after. Good. I'm praying your dad comes home with good news. Bye.

Chloe: I hate to even ask how he's doing.

Belle: Chloe, I don't know h t to act, I don't know what to say... bo has been in cedar rapids trying to find anyone who saw hope and zack the day they disappeared. He's coming back this morning. So I'm thinking if he had any good news, he would've told shawn over the phone. No news is the best news I'm hoping for right now, and that is awful.

Chloe: I'm so tired of feeling like there's nothing I can do.

Belle: I know.

[Knock on door]

Man: I'll get it.

Cassie: Don't worry. I didn't drive this time. I took a cab.

Man: Good thought.

Cassie: Could we have a minute?

Man: Sure.

Shawn-d: Listen, if you need anything right now, cassie, I can't concentrate on anything but my family.

Cassie: I know. That's why I'm here. I'm worried about you.

Shawn-d: Thanks. My dad -- he's going to be home in a minute, and I'm just -- I'm too nervous to be of any kind of company right now, so --

Cassie: Shawn, I just don't think it's a good idea for you to be alone.

Bo: Shawn-d?

Shawn-d: Dad.

Bo: Oh. Hey, hey. I'm sorry.

Shawn-d: You haven't heard anything else?

Bo: Nothing. All we know is that your mom and zack -- they've been kidnapped.

Lexie: I knew my father couldn't have taken isaac.

Brandon: You sound almost disappointed.

Lexie: Well, I didn't want him to be responsible, but at least if he were, I'd know that isaac was safe. My baby is out there somewhere.

Brandon: Yeah, well, I wouldn't absolve stefano just yet. I mean, so we've checked out hiununderground spots here in salem. There's still the whole rest of the planet. You don't even know for sure stefano's dead. And if he is, there's all the people working for him who might've carried out his wishes if he planned this before he died.

Lexie: No, no, my father wouldn't have put me through this agony of not knowing where isaac is.

Brandon: Yeah, well, maybe your father's minions aren't so concerned about your peace of mind.

Lexie: I just -- I've thought of one more place we haven't checked.

Hope: Oh, god, zack, how could this be happening? We were supposed to be going home.

Hope: He was supposed to be gone from our lives forever. You're going to terrify us again. I'm going to take good care of you, honey. Mommy is going to get us out of here.

[Door opening]

Man: Good morning, hope. Glad to see you're awake. When you became hostile last night, I had to sedate you again.

Hope: You didn't drug zack.

Man: No, he's sleeping like a baby simply because he's a baby. But I'd consider his well-being next time you decide to misbehave.

Hope: Don't you dare even think of hurting him.

Man: Hurting an innocent child -- moi? Hope, I'm a humanitarian. I brought that crib in so he'd be more comfortable, didn't I? You know, I do worry how he'll manage if his sole caregiver has to be bound, gagged, and drugged into a stupor.

Hope: This has got to be a nightmare. It can't really be you.

Man: No, it's me, all right. The one and only... larry welch.

Bo: As you know, your mom got a call while at the cedar rapids airport. It came from a phone booth inside the airport. But we don't have any witnesses yet.

Shawn-d: And that was the kidnapper, right? He lured mom and zack ouof the airport, and that's when he got them.

Bo: That's what we believe, yeah

Shawn-d: Dad, it was a dimera. It's got to be. So why don't you just go over there and arrest lexie and tony --

Bo: I wish it were that simple, shawn, but it's not. Abe and I -- we're going to go over and question them.

Abe: Cassie, you've been with the dimeras. Have you seen or heard anything suspicious, anything that might help us get back shawn's mother and isaac -- zack?

Cassie: No, I'm sorry.

Bo: It's okay. We'll be back.

Shawn-d: Dad, I want to go with you.

Bo: You can'T. This is police business. We'll handle it.

Shawn-d: That's exactly what billie said, too.

Bo: She did?

Shawn-d: Just do what you got to do, okay? Find mom and zack.

Bo: Hey, I know this is the last thing on your mind, but... you should go back to your classes.

Shawn-d: Dad, I-I can'T. I have to be here. I have to answer the phone if mom calls or the kidnapper --

Bo: Now that I'm home, I'll have all the calls forwarded to my cell, so you don't need to hang by the phone.

Shawn-d: I just can't deal with school right now, dad. There's no way I can concentrate --

Bo: You need to try. You got to occupy your mind with something else, and you know it's what your mom would want.

Shawn-d: Okay, I'll try.

Bo: Good. I'm sorry about this whole thing.

Shawn-d: No, no, dad, it's not your fault. Just find mom and zack and bring them home.

Abe: Shawn, uh, look, if lexie has any part of this, I --

Shawn-d: No, abe, I... I know you love zack, too.

Bo: This is a nightmare for all of us, but we got to remember it's going to be over soon. You got to believe that.

Bo: I'll call you.

Shawn-d: Yeah, all right.

Cassie: Shawn, I hope you know, even though tony is my guardian and I don't believe he has -- he had anything to do with this, I'll keep my ears open and I'll let you know if I hear anything.

Shawn-d: Thanks, I, uh, I appreciate that.

Cassie: Of course. I just wish that there was more that I could do.

Hope: You are supposed to be in jail.

Larry: Early release, good behavior.

Hope: Yeah, I'll bet. Including all of those bribes, I'm sure you had to have paid to keep it out of the press.

Larry: Well, you know, I did gain one thing from all those miserable years behind bars -- several new powerful and very helpful connections. Now I'm free. And once I carry out my plans with you, I can start my happy life on the outside.

Hope: What are your plans? What are you going to do to me, larry? What are you going to do to my son?

Lucas: What do you mean, I beat the odds?

Philip: You know, you recovered.

Lucas: Oh, yeah, right. I was thinking you were talking about my love life, that's for sure. Why would you say that you and chloe are getting back together?

Philip: You make it sound like I'm crazy to even think it.

Lucas: No, listen, listen. When I was your age, I had a thing for carrie, man. I did a lot of crazy things to try to be with her. But, uh, I couldn'T. She didn't feel the same way. I'm sorry -- my bad. We were talking about you. What were you saying?

Philip: I don't remember you ever dating carrie.

Lucas: Well, philip, I didn't date her. I was hung up on her, you know? I... the point is, I closed off all my other options, you know? I had tunnel vision with her, and I missed out on a very important part of my life. I don't want to see that happen to you, man.

Philip: So, what are you saying -- I should play the field?

Lucas: Yeah.

Philip: I'm like the walking wounded here, and I'm probably going away to school soon anyhow. I'm the last person anyone in salem should be involved with.

Lucas: Come on, man, don't be hard on yourself. What about that, uh, that girl you used to be into? What was her name again? Was it -- was it belle black?

Philip: Belle black?

Lucas: Yeah, belle black. Don't play it off, man. You spent your entire adolescence with a crush on her.

Philip: Belle is with shawn, and I'm still in love with chloe.

Lucas: Oh, I got it. So you were staying at belle's because why?

Philip: I needed a place. She's a nice friend of mine. That's it, okay?

Lucas: All right, whatever you say. Now, I told you that mom and victor didn't want you crashing on her floor and everything, but... I got to tell you, I don't think they'd mind if you wound up spending the rest of your life with her.

Philip: What is with you, lucas? No offense, but I'm not going to take relationship advice from you.

Lucas: Hey, I'm telling you, man, keep your options open.

Philip: Look, I'm going to love chloe forever. I can't change that, and I don't want to. I got to get back to work.

Lucas: All right.

Philip: See you later.

Lucas: Mm-hmm. Oh, philip, philip, philip. Nothing is forever, my brother, especially when it comes to women. Ooh.

Chloe: So, you're going to go over to shawn's after your class?

Belle: Yeah, I just wish I knew if he wanted me to. I mean, I don't want to barge in if he wants to be alone. But what if he doesn't? What if he needs me?

Chloe: I'm sure he does.

Belle: I don't know! It's not like I can do anything. I can't even say that I understand. I don't even know if I could keep going if it was me. And shawn is such a good person. I don't understand why all these horrible things keep happening to him. It's not fair. Oh, I feel so ridiculously lucky.

Chloe: What, you'd rather have something terrible happen to you?

Belle: No, of course not. It's just -- here I am in school, sitting in class, and all I can think about is shawn, hope, and zack. Then all of a sudden, it's back to derivatives or the subjunctive. I mean, I know I should be studying, but... I feel disloyal for going on with my life.

Chloe: Belle, do you think I spend every moment thinking I have leukemia, I could die? When I lost my hair, I bawled my eyes out. And the whole time I was thinking, what's the matter with me? It's just hair. And it's strange. In some ways, my life is better now than it ever has been. I guess you can't have the good without the bad. And, yes, what shawn is going through is really bad, but he is extremely strong, and he's extremely lucky to have such great friends and family to support him.

Belle: Chloe, how is it that you're the one going through something really hard right now, and yet you're still the one making me feel better?

Chloe: Well, you've done it for me a million times, and you're doing it for shawn already. Just being there, even if you don't say anything, just to listen -- of course he needs you, belle, more than he even knows.

Brandon: Are you sure no one's going to freak out that we're down here?

Lexie: No, eliana said tony's sleeping in this morning.

Brandon: Ah, so tony has free rein of the house, but you don't, huh?

Lexie: It's not that. It's just -- look, I'd rather he didn't know what we were doing.

Brandon: He doesn't approve of your trying to find hope and isaac?

Lexie: Not because he was involved with what haenened to them. It's because he doesn't want anything to happen to me.

Brandon: This was stefano dimera's inner sanctum.

Lexie: Yes, I guess you could call it that.

Brand: : Oh.

Lexie: Nothing here, either. No, no, no. Don'T.

Brandon: Well, can you maybe use some of this stuff to help track down hope and isaac?

Lexie: Brandon, I have no idea how this stuff works.

Brandon: I'll bet tony does.

Lexie: I don't know. Look, I know what you're thinking. My brother would never do something like this, okay? He kept telling me that I had to let go of isaac, just like you did. Anyhow, if he did take isaac, do you think that he would hide that from me?

Brandon: No, he's your brother, lexie but how much do you really know about him? I mean, I haven't heard a good word about the man from anyone but you!

Lexie: Brandon, look, you and tony are the only two people in the world that I feel I can trust right now. It doesn't help that you act like you're on opposite sides. Isaac is missing. The police are looking in all the wrong places because they think that I am involved, okay? We have to find isaac! We have to f--

Brandon: Lexie? Lexie, what's wrong?

Lexie: Brandon, get me out of here.

Brandon: Okay. Come on.

Larry: What am I going to do with you and your son? Well, that's for me to know and you to find out.

Hope: I know you, larry. And what you're hoping to gain here -- this can't be just about revenge. You want money, you want security, and you want prestige. So why make it more difficult and dangerous and complicated than it has to be, for any of us? Just tell me what you want, and let me try to help you.

Larry: [Laughs] The way you helped me last time... that didn't work out so well, did it? What did I always want from you, beautiful hope?

Hope: You didn't want me. You wanted a trophy wife.

Larry: You wanted bo, and you were perfectly content to lead me on when you couldn't have him.

Hope: You can go to sleep if you want to, but I'm going to stay up all night.

Larry: Are you going to think about my proposal?

Hope: Well, of course I'm going to think about it. It's my first proposal.

Larry: Oh, your first? How many do you expect to have?

Hope: Oh, a dozen, two, three... I don't know.

Larry: Well, I am not surprised. Does that mean you are saying no?

Hope: No, it doesn't mean I'm saying no. But it doesn't mean I'm saying yes, either.

Larry: But you did say yes.

Hope: Larry, I need to talk to you.

Larry: What's wrong? Have you seen bo?

Hope: No, and I don't want to talk about him, either. Larry, I've been a fool, but I'm not going to be one any longer.

Hope: Would you please put that ring on my finger?

Larry: Hope, are you saying yes?

Hope: Yes. Of course I'm saying yes! I want to marry you! I want to elope!

Larry: You said yes. You meant no, and I got all the way to the altar before I found out, and not from you, I might add.

Hope: When I accepted your marriage proposal, I meant to marry you. God, larry, I... I was a kid. Somehow, I dot t think I left you brokenhearted. Although I would apologize wholeheartedly for the fallout of your political career... except for all of your illegal activities. Now that -- that was your real downfall.

Larry: Ah, such a lovely stroll down memory lane. And pretty soon, hope, you're going to feelostalgic for all those bleak times past. It'll seem so very, very rosy in comparison to your present. Certainly, your future... such as it may be.

Brandon: Lexie, you need to be checked out by a doctor.

Lexie: No, look, I... I feel better now that we're outside.

Brandon: You fainted yesterday, too.

Lexie: What do you mean "too"? I didn't just faint in there, brandon. I'm exhausted, okay? I'm scared to death for isaac. Being in that claustrophobic room just now didn't help.

Brandon: What's the harm in having a checkup?

Lexie: Look, I... don't have time, okay? I have to find my little boy.

Brandon: Hey, you're not going to be able to do that if you collapse. Lexie, you need to take care of yourself. Do it for isaac.

Lexie: All right, all right, I'll go to the hospital, but if I can't be seen right away --

Brandon: We'll make an appointment and bring you back. Come on, I'll drive.

Lexie: Okay.

Abe: Get out of the car. Now.

Belle: Thanks, chloe. I really needed to hear that.

Chloe: Feel better?

Belle: Yes. Oh, my god, I didn't make you late for your class, did I?

Chloe: No. Actually, I came early so we could catch up. I wanted to talk to you about philip.

Belle: If you're worried about him stalking you from class to class, I promise that's not going to happen.

Chloe: Actually, I'm not worried about me.

Belle: Now you are starting to sound like brady. You know philip's not staying here anymore, right? He's moving in with lucas today.

Chloe: Good.

Belle: I can understand why it would bother brady that philip was staying here, but, uh, why would you care?

Chloe: I-I just... I wasn't sure how you two were doing after you found out that he had brady thrown in jail at dry creek.

Belle: Well, he wasn't doing so well after I got through with him, but you know how philip is. It's hard to stay mad at him for a ng time.

Chloe: I know. Belle, philip is my friend, and I care about him a lot. I always will, no matter what has happened between us. And I'm glad you were there to help him when he really needed someone to be there for him. And it looks like it made a difference. I just hope that now that he's moved out, things can settle down again for you and shawn. I mean, once they find his mom and zack.

Belle: Yeah. So, um, mimi must have told you that shawn was a little tense while philip was staying here.

Chloe: Uh, yeah.

Belle: You know, chloe, the last thing I would want to do is upset shawn.

Chloe: I know. You always put everyone else first, like cassie and rex, me and philip. And I don't want you to worry aboumeme. And philip doesn't want or need you to be responsible for him. It's not good for him. We both know that. What?

Belle: Chloe, please don't take this the wrong way, but I'm kind of surprised that you spent so much time talking to me about philip and his friends and his future. Are you really ready to move on? I mean, are you over him?

Hope: This isn't the first time you threatened me or my family. You see where it got you, larry?

Larry: Well, if you'd kept your word and married me the first time, there'd be no need to resort to threats, would there? Feeling sorry for yourself?

Hope: I was just remembering when you threatened to kill bo if I didn't marry you, and how terrified I felt for him. How he must be feeling right now. You couldn't hold me then, larry, and you can't hold me now. You just got out of jail. My god, did you enjoy it so much that you want to go back for the rest of your life?

Larry: No, I'm not going anywhere, hope. And if you think bo has found out that I've been sprung and is hot on my trail, believe me, he's not.

Hope: What did you do? How can you be so sure?

Larry: Let's just say that last night I planted a little incriminating evidence. We have a new prime suspect. And I'd imagine your darling hubby's going after the decoy as we speak.

Lexie: What are you doing here?

Bo: Ah, come on, lexie, you know exactly why we're here.

Abe: Bo. We're here to question you and tony about the disappearance of hope and zack.

Brandon: What? Do you have any idea how worried lexie is? She doesn't know anything.

Abe: Well, what about you? You're on the list, too. And we have a search warrant for the house and property.

Lexie: On what grounds?

Abe: Why? Do you have something to hide? Our surveillance tells us that you and brandon were out together...all night.

Lexie: We were looking for hope and zack. What?

Abe: Why are you so nervous?

Lexie: Because you're treating me like a criminal.

Bo: 'Cause you are a criminal. You kidnapped my wife and son.

Abe: Bo. We had an agreement.

Bo: Okay. Okay, I'm fine.

Abe: I'd hate to have to take you off this case.

Bo: I won't compromise it. Continue.

Abe: What's going on?

Lexie: What?!

Abe: What are you hiding?

Shawn-d: I got to pull myself together. I got to get ready for class.

Cassie: What's wrong?

Shawn-d: I don't know how I'm going to do this. I am so far behind as it is, and... I don't give a damn about any of these classes. All I care about is finding my mother and zack. But my dad is right. My mom would want me to go back to school, so I need to.

Cassie: Bioethics? Rex and I are registered for that course.

Shawn-d: You guys have started salem U.?

Cassie: We're about to.

Shawn-d: But we're already way into the semester.

Cassie: It's okay. We'll catch up.

Shawn-d: Catch up? Well, uh, I've only missed a couple of days, and I don't know how I'm gonna catch up. I mean, I have two papers due next week, I have three midterms coming up, and --

Cassie: At least you don't have to worry about economics.

Shawn-d: I don't?

Cassie: This material is so easy. I'm sorry. Sometimes I forget that I'm different, and -- I could pick up that book and look through all of it and memorize every formula verbatim. And if you can't do that, of course it's not easy.

Shawn-d: No. Must be nice.

Cassie: Yeah, well, it must be nice to be normal, too. Anyhow, what good is it to have talents if you can't share them? I'd like to share mine with you.

Hope: You made it look like someone else kidnapped me. Why am I so surprised? Of course you did. That's your M.O. After all, you are the one who set me up for a murder that you committed.

Larry: Megan's death was an accident.

Hope: No, you killed her, and you got away with it. But you're not going to get away with what you've done this time, welch.

Larry: Oh, we'll see about that.

Lexie: I'm not hiding anything from you, abe.

Abe: Lexie --

Brandon: Hey, back off.

Bo: Who do you think you are?

Abe: You know, you're the one who'd better back off, walker. Now, I'm an officer of the law investigating a crime. If you try to interfere with that investigation, I'll arrest you.

Brandon: Hey, I'm not trying to. Look, it's just that lexie hasn't been feeling well. I'm concerned about her health.

Abe: Well, you worry about your own health. Now stand aside.

Bo: I'm gonna search the car.

Abe: So, what's the matter? Why aren't you feeling well?

Lexie: I -- I'm just tired, that's all.

Abe: Yeah? Well, I'm tired of having to ask you. What are you hiding?

Lexie: And I am tired of having to tell you. Nothing! Talk about a good time for a book.. me styles don't last 20minutes.

Cassie: Shawn, if there's one thing I could do for you, especially after everything you've done for me and my brother, I could tutor you.

Shawn-d: Cassie --

Cassie: I don't want you to worry about school. It would make me feel useful. You'd be doing me the favor. Really. What do you say?

Chloe: Am I ready to move on? I have, belle, and I should have a long time ago. And, look, I came here to talk to you because I'm worried about you, not philip. I just think that you should take care of you.

Belle: Chloe --

Chloe: And when you said that you don't know if shawn needs you, of course he does. He wants you more than anything. And that's where you need to be, too. So don't go off in a hundred directions. You and shawn are both such caring people. Sometimes I think you care too much.

Belle: Chloe, if you're talking about philip, he and I have been friends since we were little kids, and we're always going to be there for each other. Shawn understands that. Well, now he does.

Chloe: Well, he'd better after that whole jan thing.

Belle: Yeah. Wait, no, this is nothing like that whole jan thing. I would never lie to shawn or put someone else first. Plus, philip is a nice person, and he isn't trying to come between shawn and me.

Chloe: Right.

Belle: Here you are telling me not to worry about other people, and look at you. Like you don't have other things to concentrate on now -- classes, too. Although I think it's a great idea that you're coming to salem U. It'll help you take your mind off other things, right?

Chloe: I hope so.

Philip: Hey, belle, what's your major again? Hi, chloe.

Chloe: Hi.

Belle: I don't have a major. Why?

Philip: I was just wondering if it was psychology, because you're a lot like your mom, you know? You really know how to listen and be there for your friends. Can you believe she was elected house heartbreaker?

Chloe: No. Belle would never break someone's heart.

Belle: Well, not on purpose, anyway. Shawn's heart is broken, and I was just telling chloe about it. I don't know what to do to help him.

Philip: What happened?

Belle: You don't know? Oh, my god, philip, hope and zack are missing.

Philip: What do you mean, they're missing?

Belle: The police think that they might have been kidnapped, and that's why shawn was so upset yesterday.

Philip: Kidnapped by who?

Belle: They think the dimeras might be involved.

P philip: Oh, my god. How are you doing?

Belle: Me?

Philip: Yeah.

Belle: It's awful. It's so awful.

Larry: I didn't get away with anything last time, hope. I was the one who was framed. What makes you think that I am gonna take the fall for you?

Victor: Well, why don't you hear me out first?

Larry: There's no harm in listening.

Victor: Don't jump to any conclusions. Now just listen. Now here's the setup. I am preparing papers that will implicate you as the mastermind behind the entire drug deal. And I am going to bribe some authorities and a judge who is going to sentence you to two years in prison. You will be remanded to a country club prison where the most that will be asked of you is to improve your golf meme.

Larry: Instead, I got 20 years in pinstripes.

Hope: Well, you'll get more than 20 years this time when you're caught.

Larry: No, I'm not going to get caught this time, hope. I've made damn sure of that. /X ñ

Chloe: Well, I guess I'd better get to class.

Belle: Oh, yeah. Philip and I have a history class together.

Philip: Hey, good luck, chloe. Hope you enjoy it.

Chloe: Thanks. You too.

Belle: Chloe, if you want to go with me to see shawn later, just meet me here afterwards.

Chloe: That would be great.

Philip: Is it okay if I come, too?

Belle: Of course it is. Take all the time you need, okay?

Chloe: Thanks.

Belle: Just remember to lock the door behind you, okay?

Philip: You okay?

Chloe: [Sighs] Are you sure you're over philip?

Shawn-d: Cassie, you don't want to be stuck tutoring me.

Cassie: Yes, I do. And I wouldn't be stuck. Besides, wouldn't your mom want you to do well in your courses?

Shawn-d: Yes, she would, and, yeah, you're right. I should take all the help I can get, so thanks.

Cassie: It'll be fun. And you're not just going to pass. You're going to -- what's the word?

Ase all your courses?

Shawn-d: Ace. Ace.

Cassie: That's it. And your mom will come home to a lot of good news.

Shawn-d: Yeah, I just hope that dad and abe have gotten something out of lexie

Abe: I want to know about your activities on the day hope disappeared.

Lexie: I had a feeling you'd be asking me this, so I wracked my brain so I could tell you. I was at the hospital. I ran into brandon and kate, had a brief conversation with them, and then I went to dinner with my mother. Then I came home to find tony having just finished dining with cassie and rex. I certainly never left salem, and I never saw hope or zack.

Abe: Well?

Bo: Nothing.

Abe: All right, let's move on to the house. We need to question tony.

Brandon: Hey, wait. You said you wanted to talk to me.

Abe: I'll deal with you later.

Lexie: Thank you, brandon. Thank you for taking that wallet from me. I don't know how it got here. I had no idea it was in my car.

Brandon: Well, you don't have to convince me. I could tell that the second you found it. But we do have to figure out who put it there.
