Days of Our Lives Transcript Tuesday  9/24/02

By Amanda

Kate: Basic black will be delighted to handle your account, Mrs. Van Essen. Yes, so I'll call to arrange a meeting, and we'll go over contracts. I look forward to working with you, too. And to sticking it to victor and his trashy blonde.

Roman: Isn't it a little early in the day to be plotting against your competitor?

Kate: Well, not that it's any of your business, Captain Brady, but I just pulled off the biggest account without even lifting a finger.

Roman: Moving in on titan territory while one of their top execs is temporarily out of commission?

Kate: Instead of standing in judgment, why don't you help me celebrate?

Roman: Sounds doable.

Kate: Tuscany -- tonight?

Roman: Tell you what -- why don't you leave the place up to me?

Kate: Don't tell me this is going to be a choice between your place or mine.

Roman: Would that be so bad?

Will: Handoff!

Abby: Hey! Too hard!

Will: For a girl.

Abby: You think you're so hot!

Will: Race ya.

Jennifer: Hey, don't go too far, okay?

Maggie: Oh, my. I can't get over how much will has grown through the summer!

Jennifer: I know, I know, and Abby was so excited to spend her day off with him.

Maggie: So no school today?

Jennifer: Teachers' conference.

Maggie: So you get to play hooky from work.

Jennifer: Yeah. You know, Aunt Maggie, I love my job, but I'm telling you, it takes more time than I ever dreamed possible.

Maggie: I know that feeling, but you have the added pressure of working with jack.

Jennifer: You know, Aunt Maggie, the office is the only area where jack and I don't have problems.

Maggie: You still feel pulled, don't you, between jack and Colin Murphy?

Colin: Hi.

Tony: Well, whatever the big news is, I hope it's good, because I have a very busy schedule this morning.

Colin: It's about belle black. I overheard her talking to her boyfriend about the lost key and about her mother being "down there" and incommunicado.

Lexie: Jack, how'd you sleep?

Jack: Like a baby, and I'm ready to roll!

Colin: Deveraux.

Tony: My would-be houseguest. I almost forgot he was here. He's so quiet.

Colin: I told you, I don't like it. Jack Deveraux after a lot more than a story.

Tony: Why don't you leave our would-be crime reporter to me?

Lexie: Uh, jack, do you think I could have your attention for a second?

Jack: I'm just, uh, checking my messages.

Lexie: Well, I thought you were here to get an exclusive on the Dimeras.

Jack: Are you saying you're willing to open up and talk to me?

Lexie: As long as you play fair, don't make me out to be some kind of a monster. As long as you let your readers know that I recognized my mistakes, have learned from them and will not make them again, especially not with my husband Abe whom I love with all my heart.

[Knock on door]

Lexie: Excuse me.

Lexie: Cameron.

Cameron: I got your message and came right from the airport.

Lexie: Oh, yeah.

Cameron: Of course I will represent you in the divorce, and I will make sure that Abe pays through the nose for what he's doing to you. I mean, come on, if you can't keep 'em, break 'em at the bank, right? Ha ha ha ha.

Nicole: I know you mean well, doctor, but I really don't feel up to this.

Doctor: Only a few steps. You can lean on me.

Nicole: Can't you just ask Dr. Murphy to stop by for a consult?

Doctor: I can't do that.

Nicole: Why? He's my doctor, not you. Go page him.

Doctor: Yes, Beverly , could you please page Dr. Murphy for Nicole walker?

Nicole: ASAP!

Victor: What's going on?

Nicole: Well, this guy thinks I can run a marathon. I need to see Colin.

Victor: Maybe this can wait.

Doctor: Of course. We're all here to help you, Ms. Walker.

Nicole: Don't take it personally. It's not you. Why do I have the feeling you had something to do with Colin disappearing?

Victor: 'Cause I did. I dismissed him from your case.

Nicole: Why?

Victor: You know why.

Sami: " Paradise -- hideaway for lovers." Romance by the sea, spa, nightlife... man, this would be the perfect place for me and Brandon to kick-start our love life, except for the price tag -- strictly for the rich and famous only. Ha ha. "Botched botox turns beauty into beast." Yuck! God. Oh. " Loch ness monster and baby nessie sighted." Excellent. "Sensational stories can make you big bucks. The 'intruder' magazine will award one lucky winner $2,000 for a steamy true-to-life account." $2,000? Man that would pay for paradise and then some.

Lucas: I wonder how much. I wonder how much the "intruder" would give me for that, uh, taped confession victor has on you.

Sami: What are you doing here?

Lucas: Well, it wasn't hard to get in. The door was wide open, which isn't too safe when you have a young child around -- just so you know.

Sami: Look, will isn't here, so you can just get out.

Lucas: Not until you sign these joint custody papers.

Sami: Okay. Just leave them on the table. I'll get to it later.

Lucas: No, no, no, no, no. You sign now, or I go to victor and the "intruder" gets a copy of that tape.

Brandon : You threaten her again, you answer to me.

Jennifer: You know, Aunt Maggie, I'm not really sure how I feel -- not about Colin, anyway.

Maggie: A lot of us have been concerned about his connection to Tony Dimera.

Jennifer: Well, you know, I was suspicious, too.

Maggie: And you're not now.

Jennifer: I think maybe we all have misjudged him. Oh, wait, I don't see Abby. Where'd she g--

Maggie: Oh, there she is! There she is. The football went behind them in the bushes.

Jennifer: Oh, in the bushes, okay.

Maggie: Oh... so, what made you change your mind about Colin Murphy?

Jennifer: He leveled with me.

Maggie: About what?

Jennifer: Aunt Maggie, when I first met Colin in Africa , he was the most open and caring man, and I couldn't help be so attracted to him. But when he came to Salem , he was a different person, and I always felt like he was really hiding something from me.

Maggie: And was he?

Jennifer: Yes, but it had to do with my dad, not the Dimeras. Listen, when we were in Africa , my dad -- he would disappear every night. Colin finally told me that they were involved in this undercover work where they were getting supplies and food and medicine to women and children, as well as aids patients, who were caught on the other side of the fighting. And this whole operation had to be done so secretively.

Maggie: A little honesty would have been a whole lot better than having you misjudge your father.

Jennifer: Well, I think Colin finally realized that, and he told me everything. And, you know, he even stayed with me while I called my dad and spoke to him.

Jennifer: Really, he was wonderful. It was -- it was this whole incredible experience, and the love that I felt for my dad after all this time... you know, all the years that I misjudged him and condemned him and -- Colin changed all of that. And it kind of made me change the way I feel about Colin, and I do trust him now, Aunt Maggie.

Maggie: Even when it comes to the Dimeras?

Jennifer: Well, if he says that he's not involved in the Dimera organization; I'd feel like I need to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Maggie: But you are still not sure about becoming more involved with him.

Jennifer: Aunt Maggie, I am so attracted to him. I always have been.

Maggie: But you are still in love with jack?

Jennifer: You know what? Whatever I may feel for jack, I can't risk taking him back and being hurt again, especially when the hot story is always going to be more important than me and Abby.

Maggie: Jennifer, you know, Mickey used to be a lot like jack. I mean, he was always wrapped up in his work. I loved him, but I felt abandoned by him. And, of course, he went away, and I lost him, just like you. So I turned to another man -- someone who seemed to be more caring and seemed to put me first.

Jennifer: Yeah, but Uncle Mickey forgave you, and the two of you got back together.

Maggie: I was lucky.

Jennifer: And you think I might not be, is that what you're saying? You're afraid that I'm going to make the same mistake you did -- with jack and Colin.

Lexie: Cameron, you misunderstood.

Cameron: I didn't realize that you had company.

Lexie: Uh, jack's a houseguest. He's a reporter. He's doing a story on my family.

Jack: And you're handling lexie's divorce.

Cameron: Not that it's any of your business.

Lexie: Cameron is overprotective when it comes to me. And I haven't had a chance to tell her that a divorce is the last thing I want.

Cameron: Wait a minute. I thought that when you called me --

Lexie: Abe is the one who filed. All I want is to get my husband back.

Jack: Well, you two obviously have a lot to talk about. I'll see if I can't go find your brother.

Lexie: Okay. No, let me explain. Come on.

Colin: You may think you've got it handled, but I'm telling you, it's a mistake.

Tony: Hello, jack.

Jack: Morning, Tony. So, what kind of mistake do you think Tony’s making, dr. Murphy?

Colin: It's a medical question. None of your business.

[Pager beeping]

Colin: The hospital.

Colin: Damn it. What's going on around here? What did you do with my medical bag?

Bart: There. I didn't want you to forget it on the way out.

[Imitating Colin’s accent] Have a g'day, doctor.

Colin: Don't push your luck, houseboy.

Bart: That's right. That's right, Matilda. You waltz out of here before you get billabonged.

Bart: The newspapers you asked for, Mr. Deveraux.

Bart: Thanks, Bart. Thanks.

Jack: I get the distinct impression that Colin doesn't want me here.

Tony: He doesn’t. Reporters make him nervous.

Cameron: Now, Lexie, I assume that you were just covering in front of that reporter when you said that you didn't want a divorce.

Lexie: No, I meant it. I want you to do everything in your power to help me get Abe back. I'll make it worth your while financially.

Cameron: Well, I'll do my best. But I have to know everything, Lexie. Now, come on, let's face it -- you caused Abe a lot of trouble. You had a lot of secrets that you kept from him. Now, if there are any more secrets that may come up as we fight this divorce, I have to know them, and I have to know them now.

Lexie: Okay, um, Brandon walker -- after Abe threw me out, Brandon and I... were together. It only happened once, and it won't happen again.

Cameron: It's still a problem, my friend, and it's one that you must make go away, as soon as possible.

Sami: God!

Brandon : You feel like a big man, hmm -- terrorizing a woman like Samantha, using your son to get what you want?

Lucas: Just get your hands off me! All I want is equal time with my boy.

Sami: Brandon , it's okay.

Brandon : I know all about you and Kate, teaming up with victor, using that tape with Samantha’s supposed sins to force her into giving you what you want. I warned you at the hospital to stay away from her.

Sami: Brandon , please, just let him go.

Lucas: Man, you know what the funny thing is? You think you know everything, but you don't have any idea.

Sami: Lucas brought the, um, joint custody papers for me to sign.

Brandon : Yeah, well, he held a gun to your head.

Sami: No, he didn't have to. I have already decided that I should sign them. It's the right thing to do for will.

Lucas: Yeah, I'm glad you finally came to your senses, Sami.

Brandon : All right, you got what you want. Now get out. She'll bring the papers to you.

Lucas: No, not until I get them. I'm not going anywhere.

[Cellular phone rings]

Sami: Okay, I'll sign them now.

[Ring]

Brandon : Hello.

Lexie: Brandon , I need to see you right away.

Brandon : It's not a good time.

Lexie: I wouldn't ask if it weren't important. Please meet me at Salem place.

Brandon : Okay, I'll be there.

Sami: Who was that?

Brandon : It was Lexie. She's in trouble.

Sami: Oh, really? Oh, my god, I'm shocked!

Brandon : I've got to go.

Sami: Brandon , why does she have to involve you in her problems?

Brandon : Lexie is a friend. I have to meet her.

Brandon : Sure you don't want him out of here before I leave?

Sami: I'm fine.

Lucas: Is that jealousy I smell? Oh, yeah, I think it is.

Nicole: Whatever you think of Colin, let's not forget he saved my life.

Victor: Yeah, there's something you should know about your precious doctor. There's every reason to believe that he was mixed up with Stefano Dimera.

Nicole: Stefano's dead.

Victor: Yes, but he and Tony Dimera are as thick as thieves.

Nicole: Colin is his doctor.

Victor: It could be a front for what's really going on. Look, you've got to trust me, Nicole. I'm doing my best to protect you. Forget about Colin. You're getting stronger every day. Soon I'll have you home, and we start planning our wedding. That is what you want, isn't it?

Nicole: Yes, more than anything.

Victor: Well, you get some rest. And I'll see you later.

Nicole: Nurses' station. Could you please page Dr. Murphy again for me? It's urgent.

Kate: Obviously, we have different ideas about celebrating. Hmm?

Roman: That's not the only thing we differ about.

Kate: Oh, don't tell me we're going to start discussing Stefano’s will again.

Roman: I'm not. That is what I came here to tell you.

Kate: Really. Captain's going to check his badge at the door?

Roman: I'm trying not to drive you away. Look, it finally just dawned on me that every time it looks like we're on the same page, I mention Stefano, and you can't get far enough away from me, so, as of today, the man is no longer a topic of dinner conversation if we're still on for that celebration.

Lucas: You know, Sami, the sooner you sign those papers, the sooner you can just run after loverboy and see if he's getting it on with Abe’s wife or not.

Sami: Your mind is like a toxic waste dump, you know that?

Lucas: And yours is just a stellar example of truth and righteousness? No.

Sami: You know what? You're just jealous because I have managed to find true love and you're still sharing an apartment with your sister.

Lucas: All right, we'll see how true Brandon ’s love is when I play that taped confession for him.

Sami: I should've let him shove your teeth down your throat.

Lucas: Yeah, the only reason why you stopped him was to keep me from blurting out the truth. Interesting. Very interesting how he thinks he's heard all your sins. He doesn't know about all of them, does he? You left out one -- the one where you perjured yourself, falsely accusing me of child abuse.

Sami: All right, I'll sign it. Just give me this --

Lucas: Thank you. You sign away, you great person, you. Wonderful. There we go.

Sami: Here. Just so that you know, I'm doing it for will, so he doesn't have to listen to us fighting night and day.

Lucas: Whatever.

Sami: Close the door on your way out.

Lucas: Oh, yeah, and one more thing -- tell your father to stop sniffing around my mom. He was all over her when I went by her hotel room a while ago.

Sami: Probably fighting Kate off. Ever since victor threw her out, she's been chasing after anything in pants.

Lucas: Well, unless you want to end up as her daughter-in-law, maybe you should do something about it and do something fast.

Sami: There's no way I'm going to let Kate sink her claws into my dad. Just get out. N 1@,

Lexie: Brandon . Hi.

Brandon : I thought this was going to be you and me. Cameron's representing me in the divorce.

Brandon : You're going through with it? Good for you.

Cameron: You'd better hear her out.

Lexie: I don't want a divorce. I love Abe. I'm going to stall the proceedings until I can find a way to convince him that we belong together.

Brandon : You don't need me for that.

Lexie: Yes, I do. If I'm going to have any chance at all with Abe, I have to make sure that nothing compromises our reconciliation.

Brandon : Nothing like us, you mean.

Lexie: Um, Cameron knows about us, um, that we were together that one time. I did tell her. She's my lawyer.

Cameron: And I understand --

Brandon : This is between me and Lexie.

Lexie: Brandon , I need you to forget what happened between us, and I would like to do something for you in return.

Brandon : Such as?

Lexie: Well, I know how much you've always wanted to go into private practice and how costly that is. So I'd like to finance you’re starting up your own office, see that all your expenses are covered as you pull back from your day job at the hospital. I could donate the money anonymously. That way, we could both have what we want. What do you say?

Colin: In case you haven't heard, I'm no longer your doctor.

Nicole: Yeah. How could you let that happen?

Colin: Actually, I was thinking of you. The last thing you need is victor making your life miserable because of me. You've been through enough.

Nicole: Yeah, I've been through enough, all right, thanks to Sami Brady and you.

Colin: Me?

Nicole: Yeah, you. If you hadn't walked in here and blabbed about the two of us getting it on, Sami wouldn't have any ammunition to use against me.

Colin: What's done is done. What do you want from me?

Nicole: Get reassigned to my case. That'll give us an excuse to see each other, to come up with an idea to put a stop to her. Talk to victor; convince him I need you as my doctor.

Colin: I understand what you have got to gain, but what's in it for me?

Jennifer: So you think that I should forget Colin and try to get together with jack again?

Maggie: I think you should follow your heart, even when there are all kinds of warning signals going off in your head about jack.

Jennifer: Aunt Maggie, more than anything, I wish I believed he could change.

Maggie: Honey, he loves you, and he adores his daughter. I mean, that is so obvious to everyone. Maybe the two of you should consider counseling together.

[Abby screams]

Jennifer: Abby!

Abby: It hurts.

Jennifer: I know, baby. I know it does. Okay.

Will: She's okay, isn't she? Abby, you okay?

Lucas: Wait a minute. What happened?

Maggie: Ask your son.

Lucas: Will, what happened?

Will: The swing hit her. I tried to warn her, but it was too late.

Maggie: Didn't you tell us that you were pushing an empty swing kind of high and that's how she got hit?

Will: It was an accident.

Abby: Was not. Mommy, he's lying. I started to play with drake and sandy, and will get mad. He hit me on purpose.

Will: Did not.

Abby: Did too.

Will: Did not, I swear. I didn't mean to hurt her, dad.

Lucas: Enough, will.

Will: Dad --

Jennifer: Listen, can we just get her to the hospital? Can you help, please?

Lucas: Absolutely. I'll carry her, and then we can take her in my car.

Jennifer: That'll be great. Hold this on your head, baby, really tight, okay?

Lucas: It's okay. Don't worry about it.

Jennifer: It's all right. We're going to get you to the hospital just to make sure.

Will: Why is she bleeding so much?

Lucas: Come on, will, let's go.

Will: Coming, dad.

Jack: Colin doesn't want me here because I'm a reporter? He's certainly more than chummy with my editor-in-chief.

Tony: Well, I wouldn't know about that. Colin and I don't discuss our personal lives. He comes here, he makes sure I'm in perfect working order, and that's about it.

Jack: I thought you were cured of your blood disease.

Tony: Well, I'm in complete remission, which is rare for an illness like mine. I've become a no-end fascination for Dr. Murphy. You see, he's studying me, monitoring my condition. He's about to write up a breakthrough medical report, but what I suspect is that he's afraid you're going to beat him to the punch.

Jack: Ha ha ha. I'm not a medical reporter.

Tony: It still doesn't stop him from being nervous.

Jack: So you're saying Colin’s only agenda is medical research.

Tony: I don't know, unless you know of some reason he has for distrusting you. Do you, jack?

Nicole: What do you mean what's in it for you? They won't find you toes up in the cemetery, for one thing, which is exactly what will happen if victor finds out we slept together again.

Colin: You can't let victor take over your life like this, Nicole. That kind of control will do more damage than the bullet you took. Save yourself while you can.

Nicole: Oh, you're a fine one to talk. You sold out to the devil himself.

Colin: What do you mean?

Nicole: You and Stefano. The Dimeras still own you, don't they?

Colin: My association with Tony Dimera is professional. I'm his physician.

Nicole: Hmm. Well, maybe this doctor-patient thing is just a cover-up for what's really going on.

Colin: Hmm. Poor Nicole -- the post-coma trauma hasn't worn off yet, has it? Maybe we should see about sedation and restraints again.

Nicole: Hey, don't threaten me.

Colin: Try fighting victor the way you do me, and you just might come out ahead.

Nicole: Well, anyone who's on Dimera's payroll can't call their life their own.

Colin: No one controls me -- not the Dimeras, not victor, and certainly not you. Good luck with Sami. She's got you right where she wants you -- chained to victor in silence for life. Talk about a slow death. That bullet would've been a kinder way to go.

Nicole: Get the hell out of here!

Colin: So long, beautiful.

Nicole: Yaah!

Brandon : Go to hell, Lexie.

Cameron: She's offering you more than a fair deal.

Brandon : Do you think I can be bought?

Lexie: It's not like that.

Brandon : You'd ruin what we had for that bastard Abe?

Cameron: Watch your language.

Brandon : I'm warning you, get her out of here.

Lexie: Cameron, maybe it's best if you do leave. I'll call you later.

Cameron: Suit yourself.

Lexie: Brandon , I am not trying to buy you off. I'm simply trying to find a way to thank you for standing by me all this time.

Brandon : You're a fool to try to win back Abe, but there's not enough money in the world for me to help you ruin your life.

Kate: Oh, come on, roman. We both know your caring for me only started after the executor of Stefano’s will started following me around, and your cop instincts kicked in and you couldn't leave me alone.

Roman: You are right, but that's not because I was after the sordid details of your past connection with Stefano.

Kate: Well, that's good, because there aren't any.

Roman: Kate, I know Dimera hurt you bad somehow, but I'm not going to let my curiosity about that come between us.

Kate: There isn't any us.

Roman: Well, who knows? You know, there could be, if we spent some time together without me pummeling you with questions.

Kate: Are you sure that's what you want?

Roman: Why not give me a chance and find out? Give us a chance.

Sami: You cannot be serious.

Kate: Get the hell out of my office.

Sami: Not without my dad.

Roman: Sami, butt out!

Sami: Look, this is so wrong, dad! She's dangerous!

Roman: You are way out of line here! Now come on!

Sami: She ruined my life!

Roman: Don't be ridiculous!

Sami: Look, how did you trick him into falling for you first of all? I mean, what have you done to him?

Kate: I'm not like you, Sami. I don't have to manipulate a man into showing interest in me.

Sami: Look, if you think I'm going to stand by and watch you jerk my father around --

Kate: Watch your mouth, or I'll have your father arrest you for harassing me.

Roman: Kate, I'll handle this. Sami, you're leaving now.

Sami: Dad.

Roman: You don't need to attack Kate like that.

Sami: Dad, please --

Roman: Go! Go! I mean it. I want you out of here right now.

Sami: No, but, listen --

Roman: Sami! We will talk about this later. Now leave.

Kate: Gee, I don't think your daughter approves.

Jennifer: All right, sweetie.

Abby: Mommy, I want to go home.

Jennifer: I know. Soon, baby, soon.

Abby: I want daddy.

Jennifer: Oh, daddy. Let me call daddy.

Maggie: Oh, look, you stay with Abby. I'll call.

Jennifer: Oh, thank you, Aunt Maggie. Here's the cell phone. You have to use it outside. You know that. The program for the office is in there, and you just press this once --

Maggie: I'll figure it out. I'll be back in a minute.

Jennifer: Thank you. All right, sweetie, mommy's right here. I'm going to be right here for you, okay?

Colin: Hi. Is Tony still around?

Eliana: I believe he's in the living room with Mr. Deveraux. Shall I tell him you're here?

Colin: No. No, don't disturb him. I'll leave a note.

Eliana: Very well, Dr. Murphy.

Colin: [Thinking] Tony better not have one of his episodes while jack's in there questioning him. God only knows what he might say.

[Telephone rings]

[Ring]

[Ring]

[Ring] That's Jennifer’s cell phone number.

[Ring] Who might she be calling?

[Ring] Jack.

[Hangs up phone] Sorry, jack. That's one phone call you're going to miss.

[Pager beeping] Oh... the hospital again..

Bart: I'm not disturbing you, am I, Mr. -- Jack.

Jack: No. No, Bart. Please, please come on in. I don't want to get in the way of your work.

Bart: Thank you.

Jack: Uh, say, Tony’s been on the phone quite some time. You don't have any idea who he's talking to.

Bart: I really couldn't say.

Jack: And Colin says you're not loyal.

Bart: Come again?

Jack: Oh, um, I'm sorry, but I couldn't help but overhear. Colin's trying to convince Tony to give you severance pay, saying that you couldn't be trusted.

Bart: Where does that jerk get off?

Tony: My... Colin’s right not to trust Deveraux. He wants to bring Colin down. He's lying like a trooper to do it.

Colin: Thanks, guys. I've got it.

Jennifer: Hey.

Colin: Jennifer. What happened?

Jennifer: She got hit in the head with a swing. I mean, Aunt Maggie and I didn't actually see it. We were at the park.

Colin: Care if I take a look? I won't hurt you, sweetheart.

Colin: Aw...

Jennifer: How bad is it?

Colin: Aw, it's just a superficial wound. We can get her fixed up in no time.

Jennifer: Oh, great.

Colin: You're being very brave. Think you can hang in there just a little longer? Good. Good. I'm going to talk to your mom. I'll be right back. Okay? Here you are. Thanks. She needs a few stitches, that's all. I may be able to use a new suture technique. No needles.

Jennifer: Oh, thank you. That would be great.

Colin: Okay.

Maggie: How's she doing?

Jennifer: Oh! She's okay. She only needs a few stitches, thank god. Listen, is jack on his way?

Maggie: I couldn't reach him. I left messages on his cell and at the "spectator," and he hasn't called me back.

Jennifer: He turned his phone off? He gets caught up in the middle of a story and he forgets about the rest of the world. Oh, I'm just so glad that Colin could be here. He's really good with her, isn't he?

Brandon : For years, I kept quiet, didn't tell anyone about how Abe messed up my family... my life. Now you want me to go on protecting him?

Lexie: No, I'm asking you to protect me.

Brandon : By hiding the truth, playing secrets and lies again?

Lexie: Brandon , are you so desperate for revenge against Abe that you don't care what happens to me?

Brandon : What about me? What about the guy who stood by you when Abe walked out, had you arrested, and wanted nothing to do with you? Think about someone other than yourself for a change.

Kate: Sami fully expected you to walk out that door with her.

Roman: I tell you what, Kate. Let's not let Sami ruin our date tonight.

Kate: Date?

Roman: That d-word scare you?

Kate: No, I can handle it if you can.

Roman: All right. Need some ground rules, though, I think.

Kate: Such as?

Roman: Such as... tonight -- all about us. You, me, having fun. No Sami, no Dimera.

Kate: You're on.

Roman: I'll call you later.

[Telephone rings]

[Ring]

Kate: Kate Roberts. Yes, Mrs. Van Essen, I didn't expect to hear from you so soon. I don't understand. You're backing out -- titan is in a slowdown. Well, of course, victor kiriakis would tell you that. He wants the account, but that doesn't mean -- of course it's your decision. Damn victor and Nicole. They're not going to get away with this.

Sami: Great. Great. Once I get Nicole under control, bam! Other enemies rear their ugly heads. Well, I have got to find a way to save my dad from Kate and Brandon from Lexie. Give me one week in paradise alone with Brandon , and he'll be saying, "Lexie who?" Well, forget it. Short of winning the lottery, there's no way I could afford that. $2,000 for sexsational stories. I could kill two birds with one blockbuster story. Ha. And I did hear dad say something to Kate about her past with Stefano Dimera. Maybe during her hooker days? Ha. Talk about "sexsational." All I need to do is dig up Kate’s sordid past with Stefano, and then a week in paradise with Brandon will be all mine.
