Days of Our Lives Transcript Tuesday 8/13/02

By Amanda

Kate: Aah! Come on. Help! Help, we're trapped! We're trapped in here! Get us out! God, what good is an emergency button if it doesn't even work? I swear, as soon as I get out of here, I'm suing penthouse grill for having emergency equipment that's defective.

Roman: Kate, the power's probably out all over Salem. There's a major storm tonight.

Kate: What difference does that make? Oh, my god. I'm stuck in an elevator with a cop who should be having a plan of action. I mean, you should be thinking of a way to get us out instead of just standing there doing nothing like a complete idiot -- oh! Mm!

Tony: I have all the clues. It's a matter of putting them in the rightful sequence. The satellite pictures found in father's secret room. Photos of the mysterious island. Father leaves me a blue key, promises me to open the past and the future. John steals the key, thereby affirming its significance. Then he drops clues about outer space, the constellation, particularly the Gemini constellation. What's missing, father? Where is the connection?

[Knock on door]

Tony: Oh, Marlena, please come out of the rain. Excuse me. What on earth are you doing out on a night like this?

Marlena: I think you know what I'm doing here.

Billie: You can't take my badge. You owe me. The whole damn force owes me.

Bo: What the hell --

Billie: I nailed magic mike for you!

Bo: Listen to me. You are a rookie. The first thing a rookie learns is to take orders. This is about teamwork, not one person going off and showboating.

Billie: You've been trying to get me out of this precinct ever since I joined. You know what? You're not going to bounce me off this force. It's not going to work because I'm staying put!

Bo: What the hell? Look out! Look out!

Tony: May I ask what you're looking for?

Marlena: Sami. She was supposed to dine with her father at the penthouse grill, but he called to say she never showed up. I called her apartment. There was no answer.

Tony: Yeah, Sámi said that her parents were overprotective. I think she was telling me the truth.

Marlena: Don't patronize me. Do you have a child? No, you don’t. You've got no idea what it's like to worry about a child.

Tony: Sami's hardly a child.

Marlena: Sami is my daughter.

Tony: Well, perhaps she's working late. Doesn't she have some position at the university hospital?

Marlena: Yes, she does. I called there. They said she left about an hour and a half ago. So I came here. Where is she?

Tony: Is there anything I can say to you that would convince you that I mean your daughter no harm?

Marlena: Yes. Call her in here so I can take her home.

Tony: She's not here. Listen, you want to search the house, please. It's not the most opportune time -- in the middle of a blackout. But if you insist, I'll lead the way.

Marlena: No thanks. I'll do it myself.

Tony: No, I can't have you do that. It's difficult enough to navigate this house in the broad daylight -- too many dark corners and passageways.

Marlena: Fine. I'll lead the way.

Brandon: We shouldn't be doing this.

Sami: Yes, yes, we should.

Brandon: No, no, it's wrong. Everything's wrong.

Sami: You are only feeling that way because you're still angry. You're mostly mad at Abe because of everything that happened with your mom and -- and I guess because Lexie still wants him. You're -- you're mad at the door for jamming on us. You're mad at me because it took so long to realize how much I want you. Brandon, I do want you. I am so sorry for hurting you, but I can't take it back. All I can do is promise that it will never happen again. I want to be with you now and always, believe me. We can make this work, Brandon. Believe in us.

Bo: You okay?

Billie: Yeah. Oh, thanks.

Bo: Better get out of here.

Billie: I'll call in, tell them an electrical pole's down. Aah! My god!

Bo: This is a disaster waiting to happen. We got live electrical wires on the floor. The concrete's wet, the rain's coming in through the roof -- it's just a matter of time till this whole place is charged.

Billie: Well, what are we waiting for? Let's get out of here.

Bo: Well, we got a bit of an obstacle between us and the exit. We step in that water, we'd be fried.

Billie: Bo, look, the water's coming in on the floor! We can't stay here.

Bo: We got no choice.

Roman: What the... you bit me.

Kate: Well, you grabbed me, and I defended myself.

Roman: Well, you were screaming for me to do something, so I did.

Kate: I didn't ask you to manhandle me, roman.

Roman: Well, somehow, I had to get you to shut up.

Kate: Oh! Shut up? What is it with you? I'm yelling my head off so someone will hear me and get us out of here.

Roman: All your yelling does is use up available oxygen. It doesn't get us rescued.

Kate: Oh, I see. We're supposed to just rest here and die till then?

Roman: We're not going to die. We're stuck in a damn elevator, Kate. Look, it's not going to be forever. Just be patient, okay?

Kate: I can't be patient 'cause I can't stand here being another -- another second in this confined space with a man who doesn't respect me.

Roman: Kate, put a sock in it, all right?

Kate: Oh, god, I want out.

Roman: You get scared this easy all the time? I thought you were tough.

Kate: I am not scared. I am just deeply, deeply unhappy because this is a very unpleasant situation for me. Oh. Don't be a baby. I didn't hurt you so badly.

Roman: Well, you kind of broke the skin here a little bit.

Kate: A cut. A cut needs treatment. No, no, no. No, no, here. Give me your hand.

Roman: Ha ha ha.

Kate: Give me your hand.

Roman: Wait a minute. What -- what -- what the hell is that?

Kate: Oh, you are a baby, aren't you? It's only going to sting for a minute.

Roman: Ee! Well, hell, it does sting. And what the hell is this smell?

Kate: Jasmine paradise. It's a perfume.

Roman: You put perfume on a bite?

Kate: Perfume contains alcohol, alcohol is a disinfectant.

Roman: Well, all I know is this stuff stinks.

Kate: Well, jean-Jacques won't be thrilled to hear that, because this is his newest fragrance, and it costs $95 an ounce.

Roman: All right, I'll tell you what, Kate -- if I end up in a hospital smelling like a French poodle, I am coming after you.

Billie: Bo, we can't just do nothing.

Bo: Well, if somebody hadn't thrown my cell phone across the warehouse, I could call somebody.

Billie: Okay, okay.

Bo: You know, let's stand up on this crate. We'll get out of the water.

Billie: Aah!

Bo: Let's drag it down here away from the electric, okay?

Billie: Okay.

Bo: Come on. Let's try to stand it up. Let's stand it up in case it gets deep in here.

Billie: I can bench-press 100 at the gym.

Bo: Yeah. That just paid off.

Billie: Yeah. Aah!

Bo: Get up there.

Billie: What are you doing?

Bo: Well, you almost stepped in the water. This wood will be safe. It doesn't conduct electricity.

Billie: Hooray for wood.

Bo: Yeah.

Billie: Aah! Bo, I keep this -- I keep thinking this storm is going to die down, and then it just gears up again.

Bo: Yeah, it does.

Billie: Oh, it looks like we're going to be here for a while.

Bo: Uh-huh.

Billie: It's a perfect chance for me to lobby for my job.

Bo: I don't make the rules. The precinct does. You muscled in on a bust that you weren't assigned to. The officer who was assigned to this is in deep water, too.

Billie: Yeah, well, you know what? Maria doesn't need any more problems, Bo. Come on. The drug bust was a success. I nailed magic mike. My move proved it paid off.

Bo: Got a bit of an ego, do we? It took months to plan this thing. We would have gotten the guy. We didn't need Officer Billie reed.

Billie: Correction --

you don't need me, but somebody else was counting on me. I didn't try to get in on your precious operation to get the glory for myself

or to get closer to you, even though your male ego seems to have a hard time letting that go.

Bo: You obviously wanted my attention, which you got -- hours of undivided attention. Tell me you didn't want that.

Billie: Please! I would never risk my job for a man -- for any man. No, excuse me, I did it to protect a baby.

Brandon: You want me to believe in you -- in us? Don't you know me better than that, Samantha? I haven't believed in anything for years. I stopped doing that when I was a kid one of the times my dad was ripping into me. My whole life, whenever people told me to believe, it always meant something bad for me. My mom told me I should believe in the law, and then I saw what the law can do to a family when Abe took advantage of my mother. You know what I believe in now, Samantha? I believe that people will always let me down. That's what I believe.

Sami: I am so sorry that I disappointed you, Brandon. I am sorry that I used your feelings to get you to protect me. I have grown up since then, okay? I have found out for myself what it's like when someone lets you down, and I promise you -- I promise that that won't be what happens between us anymore. May lightning strike me dead if what I'm about to say isn't true. Brandon, I love you, okay? You can believe that. Believe that I will love you forever. I want to be with you tonight and for the rest of our lives.

Tony: Well, I hate to say I told you so --

Marlena: Well, then don’t.

Tony: Well, I won’t. I was going to quote something, but it doesn't matter. My candle's almost burnt out. Ah, god, you know, it's Eliana's night off, and I can't find anything. Here's another candle. Um... well, Marlena, I've shown you around the entire house. Sami's nowhere to be found. I hope you believe me now. I've no intention of hurting your daughter, nor anybody in your family. I'm certainly not trying to pull any subversive moves. Oh, wait, I do have something, as they say, up my sleeve, but it's not a secret. Your husband knows about it. He's in it with me.

Marlena: You and john are partners? Since when?

Tony: Non-profitmaking partners, but please, come see for yourself. These satellite pictures came from a satellite my father put into orbit years ago. The Dimera foundation is now studying natural resource management. I told john about it. He got excited, and he's in it with me, so... we even came up with a name for the venture. It's called the Gemini project.

Marlena: I don't like the idea of you and john being in business together.

Tony: Well, shall I take that personally?

Marlena: Your charm doesn't work on me, Tony. I've had too many years of threats from people named Dimera.

Tony: Oh, Marlena, I'm not threatening anybody. On the contrary, I'm trying -- I'm attempting to improve other people's lives.

Marlena: All righty, then. Improve my life. Leave my husband and my children alone.

Marlena: [Gasps] Tony? Tony, are you all right? Tony!

Man's voice: You know what you must do.

Marlena: Tony, can you hear me? Talk to me.

Man's voice: You know what you must do.

Marlena: This is that same kind of trance you went into at my apartment, and I don't believe it, not for a second. Look, I don't know why, but you're faking this. I'm leaving.

Tony: I must come back for Marlena.

Billie: Aah!

Bo: What the hell does a baby have to do with tonight's drug bust?

Billie: Maria's pregnant.

Bo: I didn't know that.

Billie: Well, she's -- she's only in her first trimester, and she doesn't want to talk about it yet. Things could still go wrong.

Bo: She could have come to me.

Billie: I tried to tell her that, but she just became a detective, and she didn't want to beg off her first assignment. I could see her point.

Bo: A detective's pregnant, they got to tell us.

Billie: Oh, you just don't get it, do you?

Bo: What?

Billie: Bo... the water's coming up! You know, when a guy on the force is going to have a baby, does he go around talking about it?

Bo: Well, no. He's not the one carrying the kid.

Billie: Well, exactly. You look at the guy, you can't tell he's going to become a parent, but if you look at a woman, she can't hide it.

Bo: Billie --

Billie: What?

Bo: That's life. That's just the way it is.

Billie: Yeah, and just the way it is is exactly how you guys like it!

[Groans] We women, we have to stick together. That is why I traded assignments with Maria tonight. It's tough knowing that no matter how good you are at your job, you lose ground the minute you want to have kids. And before Maria got pregnant, she would have jumped at the chance to be at this drug bust. She'd been following mike for weeks. But come on, Bo, she couldn't risk her baby's life.

[Groans] I mean, look at mike. He went after me. He was a pig. Come on. Better me than Maria. I don't have anybody waiting for me at home. I don't have a baby on the way. Aah! Aah! What are you --

Bo: Guess this crate isn't as strong as we thought. The water's getting pretty deep. We're going to have to find someplace else to keep us dry.

Billie: Where?

Bo: Good question.

Brandon: I want to believe you, Samantha. It's hard not believing -- ahh!

Sami: Look, Brandon, maybe there's a reason that it's raining tonight. You know, maybe the -- maybe you can let the rain wash away your pain. Just feel it on your face. Feel it all over you. Let everything go -- all the pain and all the disappointment of your father and what he did to you and your mom and Abe. You know, usually I'm afraid of storms, but I'm not scared of anything when you're with me.

Brandon: What about Austin? Did I make you forget about him?

Sami: I wanted Austin the way a little girl wants a toy that she knows she can't have. I had this fantasy of what love was like, and I was forcing Austin to live that fantasy with me. You were right. It could never last, because it wasn't real. This -- this is real.

[Laughing] I can't believe I'm even saying all of this, but my heart is so filled with love that I'm not afraid to say anything to you, because when you're near me, it's all I need. You know me, Brandon, and yet you fell in love with me, not -- not in spite of who I am, but because of who I am. I've never had that before, not even with my family. Your love makes -- makes all the hurt go away. Losing Austin and not being with my son right now -- life can be so tough, and sometimes even I feel like giving up. But -- but with you next to me loving me, I know that I can -- I can get through anything. Brandon, Austin couldn't do that for me. No one can love me like you do. And you tried to tell me that, but now I finally get it. You love me, Brandon walker, and I know that you always will.

Brandon: I do love you, Samantha.

Roman: Ha ha ha ha ha! You don't like the smell in here, either, do you?

Kate: Oh... well, it was my favorite scent before tonight, but, you know, if we ever get out of here, I think I'm definitely going to change perfumes. Ah, god, no more jasmine. I'm sorry, too, about your hand. I don't think I ever bit anyone before.

Roman: Whoa, wait a minute right here. Did I just hear a Kate Roberts apology?

Kate: Yeah, well, another crack like that, I'm going to take it back.

Roman: All right. I apologize to you, okay, for putting my hand where it could get bit.

Kate: Hmm.

Roman: But you were bugging me, and I didn't know what else to do. You know what? I'm hungry. I didn't order dinner 'cause I was waiting for Sámi to show up, and so all I had was a couple lousy bread sticks.

Kate: Well, let me see. I might have something in here.

Roman: Well, just remember, you're 0-for-1 already with that jasmine paradise.

Kate: Ahh! Success. Huh? It's an energy bar, roman.

Roman: All right. I'll, uh, save it for later. Why are you being so nice to me all of a sudden? Are you hoping I won't charge you with assault?

Kate: Assault? Oh, come on, you can't be serious. Are you? Roman? Roman?

Roman: It's not mine. It must have come out of your purse when you were rummaging for food. There's a time and a place on the back here. Some guy in a bar give you this card? Raymond grant.

Kate: Give that to me.

Roman: Wait a minute. Raymond grant. Isn't he the executor of Stefano’s estate, the guy who read the will? Not exactly your type, Kate. Why are you meeting with him?

Billie: Aah! Bo, look, there are some dry spots on the cement. What if I jump from spot to spot to get us to the exit?

Bo: Yeah, great idea. You got a death wish?

Billie: No, but somebody's got to take a risk to get us out of here.

Bo: Will you stop it?

Billie: I -- stop what?

Bo: Trying to prove yourself.

Billie: I'm trying to stay alive.

Bo: We better figure a way to get out of here. Hey, look at that. This beam here, I -- I think we might be able to reach that window up there.

Billie: Maybe that could be our escape route.

Bo: Ha. Only problem is it's about 6 feet up there.

Billie: Hey, want to try some teamwork, partner?

Sami: Brandon, make love to me.

Marlena: What did you say? Tony... are you hearing me?

Marlena: Tony?

Marlena: If you can hear me, tell me why you said you had to come for me.

Tony: Marlena.

Marlena: Yes, I'm here. Why do you have to come for me? What do you want from me?

Tony: Must protect... must bring home.

Marlena: Must protect me? From what? What must you bring home?

Tony: Marlena, what are you --

Marlena: I came here looking for Sámi.

Tony: Right, right, I -- I gave you a tour of the house. It happened again, didn't it?

Marlena: Yes.

Tony: You look upset. What'd I say?

Kate: I'm not having a meeting with Raymond grant.

Roman: Kate, who are you trying to kid? I saw a time, I saw a date.

Kate: Well, sometimes things aren't what they appear to be.

Roman: What, old Raymond tried to hit on you and you were too polite to blow him off? Is that it?

Kate: I don't have to explain things to you, roman.

Roman: No, you don't, Kate, but maybe you should.

Kate: Why?

Roman: Because every time I mention Stefano Dimera or the reading of his will, you get real shaky.

Kate: Well, you shouldn't worry so much. I'm sure you have more important things to think about, don't you?

Roman: Kate, you don't have to be afraid to talk to me, okay? I'm not out to expose you. I'd like to help you if I can.

Kate: Oh, really? What, Sámi Brady’s father wants to help me.

Roman: You can't go up against Dimera on your own.

Kate: Stefano's dead, remember?

Roman: Yeah, but he reached out beyond that grave with his damn will, and he's still got a son and daughter in Salem, and I don't trust Tony or Lexie one bit. You need support if you're going to survive the Dimeras, and that's what I'm offering you, Kate. That's what I'm offering you right here, right now is support.

Kate: Look, I don't know why you're being so buddy-buddy with me, but I don't need your support, I don't need your help, I don't need a shoulder to cry on. Frankly, I don't want anything to do with you, and as far as this attraction crap goes, believe me, it's not mutual at all.

Roman: You're hot for me right now, Kate.

Kate: Oh, god. Oh, god, it's so ridiculous. That is so asinine. I feel nothing but contempt for you.

Roman: I'm not buying it.

Kate: Really? Well, let me prove it to you.

Sami: [Gasps] Oh, my god!

[Gasps]

Man: How long have you two been stuck up here?

Sami: Not long enough.

Sami: Ha ha ha. Ha ha ha.

Brandon: I wish they hadn't found us.

Sami: Me too.

Man: Ahem. You guys coming down?

Brandon: Ahem. Yeah, we'll be there in a minute.

Sami: Brandon, what if this doesn't last?

Brandon: It will.

Sami: But what if we go back down there and you look at me and you wish that this hadn't happened?

Brandon: I won’t. I've wanted you for so long, Samantha.

Sami: But what if we lose what we've found up here?

Brandon: We found each other.

Sami: Oh, Brandon, I couldn't stand to lose you again.

Brandon: As long as you really love me, then you'll never lose me.

Sami: I do love you, Brandon, so much.

Sami: Oh, look at that. The storm is over.

Brandon: It's going to be a beautiful day. Every day is going to be beautiful from now on 'cause I'm going to be waking up next to you.

Kate: Oh.

Kate: See? There... zero chemistry.

Roman: Yeah.

[Motor whirring]

Roman: Uh...

Billie: Don't let my boots get wet, okay? Aah!

Bo: I'll try. How about that? All right.

Billie: All right.

Bo: Step right here.

Billie: Okay. Ready?

Bo: Ready.

Billie: Set, go. All right, you got me? Wait! Okay, hold on. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Okay.

Bo: Can you get your leg around?

Billie: Yeah, wait, hold on.

Bo: Hurry.

Billie: One more little -- okay.

Bo: Adjust...

Billie: Ha ha ha. All right. Ready? Go. Wait.

Bo: Go.

Billie: There. Aah! Okay.

Bo: Yeah, that's my hair.

Billie: All right. Give me your hand.

Bo: Hold on. Let me get --

Billie: Where is it? There it is.

Bo: Can you see the beam?

Billie: Yes, I can see it.

Bo: All right, you're safe?

Billie: Okay, ready?

Bo: You're okay?

Billie: Yeah, I'm okay. Okay, ready?

Bo: Yeah.

Billie: 1...

Bo: Yep.

Billie: Ready? Are you okay?

Bo: Yeah, I'm fine.

Billie: 1... [Grunts] All right.

Bo: You okay?

Billie: Yeah.

Bo: Can you reach the beam from there?

Billie: I don't know.

Bo: Take one hand up.

Billie: I got it.

Bo: Okay, just take it slow. You all right?

Billie: Yeah. Oh, jeez.

Bo: Okay. Good.

Billie: All right. Whoa, whoa, whoa.

Bo: You sure you want to stand up like that?

Billie: I'm okay, I'm okay. Uh, the window looks like it's sealed shut. I'm going to have to bust it open.

Bo: You sure? You can't do anything else?

Billie: Nope.

Bo: Take it easy.

Billie: All right.

Bo: Well, there you go. See if there's anything on the side of the building that'll help you climb down.

Billie: Uh, it looks like I'm going to have to jump.

Bo: Jump? There's got to be another way to get down from up there. I mean, you're, like -- you're, like, three stories high. You can't jump.

Billie: Aah!

Bo: Bil! Bil! Billie! Billie!

Kate: Oh, god. How long were we stuck in there?

Roman: Well, time flies when you're having fun.

Kate: No comment. Well, it's late.

Roman: You mean early.

Kate: Whatever. You know, I just hope we're never stranded like that again, because it was a very unpleasant experience.

Roman: Well, you know what, Kate? It wasn't much fun getting bit, but I can't say I minded getting kissed.

Kate: Goodbye, roman.

Marlena: Here, sip this.

Marlena: You were thirsty.

Tony: Thank you. I'm all myself now. These spells -- it's terribly unnerving to be conscious and not in control. Well, you didn't answer my question. Did I say anything of note while I was in my state?

Marlena: You mentioned my name.

Tony: In what context?

Marlena: Something about coming back for me. Does that mean anything to you?

Tony: I wish I could say it did, but, no, I'm sorry.

Marlena: You need to talk to somebody.

Tony: Well, I'm speaking to you.

Marlena: No, I mean professionally.

Tony: Well, why can't you help me?

Marlena: Because that would be inappropriate.

Tony: Well, I'm not going to speak to a stranger, so there we are.

Marlena: Well, then I could see you once or twice just to get you in the process.

Tony: Do you think I can be helped?

Marlena: I don't know. I don't know. We have to find out. I'll check my schedule for dates, times.

Tony: Well, my schedule is wide open.

Marlena: I'll call you.

Tony: I'll walk you out.

Marlena: No, don’t. Um... you can blow out your candle. The sun is coming up.

Tony: God. Why does it keep happening? Perhaps Marlena can't help me. Colin certainly hasn't done any good for me. When I came out of that focus, she had a look of such concern on her face. Maybe she can care for me after all.

Billie: I'd come in, but I'd be electrocuted.

Bo: Billie, what the hell happened to you?

Billie: I jumped out the window.

Bo: Yeah, I caught that part. I mean afterwards.

Billie: I ran to my car, and I called in for help. They're on their way, so just hold on.

Bo: Billie, I see you jump out a window, you scream, and then nothing. I thought maybe you could have been hurt badly or -- or worse.

Man: Are you officer reed?

Billie: Yes, I am, but don't go in there! You'll get electrocuted!

Man #2: It's okay. We turned off the power to the electrical pole. It's not dangerous anymore.

Billie: Thank god.

Man: We better check out the rest of the warehouse.

Bo: All right, thanks, man. Thanks for showing up so soon, you guys. And thank you for saving my life.

Billie: Well, you saved my life a couple of times, so we're even.

Bo: Mm-hmm.

Billie: Oh. Ha ha.

Bo: So you are hurt.

Billie: Just my ankle.

Bo: Oh, is that all? You don't need that...much.

Billie: It's not a big deal. It's not serious.

Bo: Uh-huh. What, you went to medical school while you were acing your police exams?

Billie: God, you're stubborn.

Bo: Oh, as if you're not. I'm taking you to the hospital, tough guy.

Billie: Bo, no, I don't nee to go to the hospital. I'm fine.

Bo: No arguments.

Billie: Come on.

Bo: Kicking and screaming.

Billie: Oh, I jumped out the window, for god's sake.

Bo: Yeah, and you managed to hurt yourself.

Sami: This is quite the look, huh? Did you mean what you said -- that you want to --

Brandon: I want to wake up with you, Samantha, every morning.

[Door opens]

Woman: Brandon.

Brandon: Hey.

Woman: The security guard said I could find you up here.

Brandon: What's up, Gloria?

Gloria: Well, we've been trying to page you. Dr. Nelson needs you in pediatrics.

Brandon: Thanks. Tell her I'll be right there.

Gloria: Okay.

Sami: Well, it's going to be all over the hospital now.

Brandon: Good. I want everybody to know. I'm going to take care of my patient. Why don't you go home, get some dry clothes on, and get some sleep?

Brandon: Will you come over to my loft later? We can pick up where we left off.

Sami: I love you, Brandon.

Brandon: I love you, Samantha.
