Days of Our Lives Transcript Monday 7/29/02 By Amanda Brandon: Samantha. Sami: Hey. What’s up? Brandon: I'm here to get my wallet. I'll wait here while you get it. Sami: You're welcome for finding it for you. Brandon: Finding it? You probably lifted it. Sami: What are you talking about? Brandon: The same way that you blew out your tire on purpose, risking your life, thinking I'd come to the rescue. The lengths you go to to get my attention -- you have got serious problems. Sami: First of all, we work together, so I don’t really need an excuse to see you. And secondly, I certainly don’t want to hang around while you're treating me this way. Kate: Oh. Billie: Hurry, it’s heavy. Kate: I'm hurrying. Oh. Bo: I found Zack’s football. He could use this as a pillow on the plane. Hope: Great. Oh, shoot. I almost forgot -- the plane tickets to Iowa. I forgot to confirm the purchase. Bo: You might want to do that. Hope: Yeah, you're right. You know what? I'm just going to run upstairs and print out that itinerary on the computer, okay? Bo: Whoa, whoa, hold on. I got a copy in my bag. Hope: Oh, perfect. Bo: Yep, here it is. The itiner-- what? Itinerary’s right -- Hope: Step away from the bag, Brady. Bo: Hey, this is -- Hope, get your hands out. Hope: Since when do we have secrets? Uh-huh. What do you know? A box of chocolates. Bo: Mm-hmm. Hope: So what’s the deal? Why are you hiding these from me? Belle: Shawn, we have to do something. Shawn-D: Let them work it out. After all, they're part of the same gang. Belle: Yeah, since when do members of the same gang turn on each other? Shawn-D: What, do I look like an expert? I don’t know the drill. I don’t want to. Belle: Okay, Shawn, you know what? Maybe you're right. Maybe they are human just like you and me, but they are still outnumbered, and they're in trouble. You can turn your back on them if you want to, but I can’t. I'm going to help them. [Boys yelling] Brady: So what’s the deal? Is Chloe all right? Is she sick? What’s going on? Brenda: Well, her room’s right there. Go see for yourself. Brady: Oh, my God. Chloe. Chloe: Do I look that bad? Brady: No. No, no, not at all. It’s, um, it’s just really great to see you. It’s also kind of a shock. I mean, I didn’t expect that I would see you this early, you know? Chloe: I didn’t think so either. Brady. Don’t. Philip: Hey, excuse me. I have a little surprise for Chloe, and I was hoping that you could help me. Craig: Uh, Brenda, let me take care of this. Philip, you might want to know that Chloe is out of isolation. Philip: She is? That’s great. Nancy: Well, what are we waiting for? Let’s go in. Philip: Yeah.
Brady: Chloe, I'm sorry. Chloe: No, don’t be. It’s just that no one’s supposed to touch me right now. My immune system is still rebuilding. Philip: Hello, Chloe. Chloe: Hi, Philip. Craig, Nancy, it’s so great to see you again. Philip: I wish I could give you a hug. Nancy: Me too. Chloe: I wish I could throw my arms around all of you. Craig: Soon. Chloe: Hey, Brady, what’s that? Brady: This? Um, yeah, this. All your friends, we -- we taped a get-well message for you, but I guess we can all give it to you now in person, huh? Craig: And I'm pleased to say that not only are Chloe’s counts coming back up, but she’s very much on the way to remission. Nancy: That’s wonderful news. Philip: Definitely. Nancy: The best. Philip: Definitely something to celebrate. Craig: Can I get you anything, sweetie? Nancy: Do you need anything from home? Belle: Shawn, what are you doing? Shawn-D: Listen, we're going to circle around and approach them from the other end of the alley. Belle: Why? Shawn-D: I have a plan, okay? But if it gets dangerous, I want you to take off. Belle: Okay. Joey: I don’t know who you are, where you came from, or why you dress so weird. That doesn’t matter now. I'm just going to make damn sure you don’t get another chance to cause us trouble. Boy: That’s right. They done wandered into the wrong turf. [All talking] Joey: Everybody bail! Girl: Who’s back there? Belle: Shawn! Shawn-D: Yeah! Hope: Let me guess. Who could these possibly be from? No, no, no hints, no hints. Let me guess, let me guess. Yes, of course. It has to be Billie Reed. I mean, even though she’s not trying to worm her way back into my husband’s heart, she does want you to know, just golly, gee, how glad she is to be working with you again in downtown Salem, huh? Bo: No. Hope: No, she’s not glad? Bo: No, they're not from Billie Reed. Hope: Then why are you hiding the chocolates from me? Bo: 'Cause they're for you. Hope: Oops. Bo: Yeah, oops. Why do you do that? Hope: I'm sorry. I'm stupid. I know how much you love me, Brady. Bo: Well, it feels like you don’t trust me. Hope: I'm sorry. It’s not that I don’t trust you, because I do. I trust you completely. You know I do. It’s Billie Reed that I don’t trust. Bo: Hope, she is not going to cause trouble between us. How can she? How can anybody? Not Stefano, not Tony... nobody is going to come between us ever again. Hope: I love you, Brady. I love you so much. Billie: Did we interrupt something? Brandon: Nothing important. Need help with that box? Billie: Uh, we can handle it. Kate: No, we can’t. Let him help, for God’s sakes. Sami: I'll get your wallet, Brandon. Billie: I really didn’t mean for you to have to carry it. Brandon: Oh, it’s okay. I'm happy to help. Kate: Oh, and we thought chivalry was dead. Billie: Mother. Sami: Brandon, I have your wallet. Kate: Shh. Can’t you see they're getting acquainted? Billie: [Laughing] Philip: Here, Mrs. Wesley. Chloe, what can I get you? Is there anything you need? Chloe: Right now, I think all I need is a shower and a shampoo. I haven’t had one in a while. Nancy: Well, I'll help you with that, sweetheart. Craig: All right, then we'll give you ladies a little privacy, hmm? Come on. Philip: We'll be back. What are you looking all depressed about? Chloe’s in remission, man. That’s great news. Brady: Remission isn’t the ultimate goal, Philip. We have to get Chloe a Bone marrow donor so she can have a transplant. Philip: But if she’s doing so well, if she doesn’t have a relapse, will she still need a transplant? Craig: Well, with the type of leukemia that Chloe has, a relapse is probable unless we -- unless we can replace the diseased marrow with new tissue from a donor. Philip: But if we don’t find a donor, I mean, she can still get through this, right? You said relapse is probable, but that doesn’t mean it’s inevitable, does it? She can still beat this thing, can’t she? Craig: Without a transplant, it’s not likely she can, really, no. The prognosis is not good. Belle: Shawn, this is where the aliens were. I bet they came back here. Shawn-D: Okay, can’t we just forget about it? There’s a lot more important things we could be doing. Belle: We just risked our lives for those two. It'd be stupid to abandon them now. Belle: [Whispers] Hey. Shawn-D: Hmm? Belle: There they are. Someone please tell me this is not a real problem and they don’t need our help. Belle: It-it’s okay. I'm -- I'm not going to hurt you. Come with us, please. Shawn, I don’t think they understand a word that I'm saying. Shawn-D: Or they're acting like they don’t understand, or maybe it’s just they don’t speak English. Belle: Okay, we know they're not in a gang, so who do you think they are? Shawn-D: I don’t know, but what are you going to do? Just take them to the pub for a burger? Belle: No, but I have an idea. Okay, are you ready? Here we go. Billie: Thank you for doing that. You didn’t have to do that. Brandon: Oh, it was no problem. Sami: Brandon, here’s your wallet. Kate: Stealing again, are we, Sami? Sami: Oh, you're such a riot, Kate. Billie: Sami, we can say hi, can’t we? Sami: Hi. Bye. Billie: Well, it looks like we're going to be neighbors. Sami: And it’s so cozy, too. Billie: Well, I'm not really thrilled myself. I'm not a real big fan of yours, but after what Austin told me about you, I wonder how you can sleep at night. Sami: Actually, I sleep just fine. Thanks for the concern. I do everything just fine. Billie: I'm really trying to keep a positive attitude toward you, especially now that I'm working with your dad. Brandon: You're what? Billie: Oh, yeah, Salem P.D. I've been there for about a week. I'm a rookie cop. Sami: Gee, and some of Brandon’s best friends are cops -- not. Billie: I recently had my consciousness raised about cops. We all have, haven’t we? It’s a very important job, a noble profession. I think there needs to be some justice in the world, and I'm just glad I'm on the right side. Sami: Wow, you are the most selfless person. You want to be on the right side. That is so touching. Billie: Do I detect a hint of sarcasm in your tone? Sami: Oh, was I being obvious? Billie: Why don’t you just say what’s on your mind, Sami? Sami: Okay. I think you're full of it, pretending that you've come back to town to lay your life on the line for humanity or whatever. All you want to do is worm your way back into my uncle Bo’s life, and you're using your stupid little job to throw yourself at him, and, personally, I think it’s so obvious that it’s pathetic. Shawn-D: I don’t even want to be involved in this, and now they end up at my house? Belle: Yeah, well, I don’t have a garage, and these guys need our help. Shawn-D: Yeah, they do need help -- I agree with you -- which is why we need to tell our parents. Belle: Except they're scared of people, so what good would that do us? Shawn-D: Well, they're not scared of us. Belle: Shawn, if your mom and dad were to walk in here, or my mom, these guys would take off. We have to teach them to trust people before we involve our parents. Shawn-D: Okay, and that could take a while. Belle: So if it does, it does. Shawn-D: What are you talking about? We don’t have a lot of time. Belle: Sure we do. We'll just -- we'll hide them. Shawn-D: You're kidding, right? You're not actually thinking -- Belle: Shawn, it’s the only thing we can do to help them. It’s the only thing we can do right now. Chloe: I can take it from here, thanks. Nancy: Are you sure? Chloe: No problem. Nancy: Well, then I'll just wait in your room. Chloe: I'll call you if I need you. [Thumping] Nancy: Chloe? We will return for the second half of "Days of Our Lives" in just a moment. Nancy: Chloe? What’s wrong? Chloe: I'm fine. I'll be right out. Nancy: Chloe, won’t you tell me what happened? Chloe: Forget it. Nancy: Did you fall? Did you hurt yourself? Chloe: No. Chloe: Let me do it. Nancy: Your hair’s coming out. We expected that. Chloe: Yeah, we did, but it'll grow back. Nancy: It certainly will, as beautiful as ever. In the meantime, the chemo is what’s making you better, so whatever we have to put up with, right? Chloe: Right. [Knock on door] Philip: I-I guess this isn’t a good time. I'll come back later. Nancy: No, no. It’s all right. Come on in. I'll be right back. Philip: Are you okay? Chloe: Yeah. I'm fine. Philip: Come here. Chloe: [Sobbing] Brady: Dr. Wesley. Craig: Yeah. Brady: Sorry to Bother you. I was just wondering if you'd heard anything back from that P.I. You hired. Have you found Chloe’s biological father yet or... Craig: No, not yet. But promise, as soon as we hear something, I will let you know. Right now, it’s time for me to check in with the Bone marrow donor program, see what’s going on. Brady: Well, hey, do you mind if I wait while you do that? Craig: No, come on in. Craig: Hmm. Uh, yeah, dr. Wesley here. Any news? You did? That’s terrific. Shawn-D: Okay, look, even if we get them to trust us, there’s the issue of us trusting them. Belle: Shawn -- Shawn-D: I mean it, okay? Obviously, there’s something wrong. They don’t talk, they cower around people -- maybe they're runaways, or they were abused or something. Belle: So what, does that mean we just give up on them? Shawn-D: No, no. All I'm saying is that the problem is too big for just us to handle. Belle: Shawn, I just got through explaining why it has to be only us and why we can’t involve our parents or anyone else, not right now, anyway. Okay, if you don’t think they're from another planet, then -- Shawn-D: Oh, come on, all right? How could they be from another planet? They look totally human. Belle: I know you're skeptical. Everyone is skeptical, which is why going to our parents would be very unhelpful right now, so if you could just go along with me on this and give it a little time, just a few days, so I can figure out what’s going on before we try and explain it to anyone. And that way, they'll become a little more comfortable and maybe they won’t try and run away again. Is this too much to ask? I mean, you doing this teensy-weensy little favor for me? Shawn-D: I guess not, but -- Belle: Shawn, I just feel like somehow... Shawn-D: What? Belle: I don’t know, just -- they're really important to me. Shawn-D: Important? Why? Belle: I don’t know. Maybe it’s their age or because we saved their lives. I just -- I feel connected to them, okay? Shawn-D: I have an idea. Hold down the fort. I'm going to go check something out. Belle: Hey, Shawn, where are you going? Shawn-D: Just hang. I'll be right back. Shawn-D: Hey, pop. Bo: Hey, bub. Shawn-D: What’s going on? Bo: Ah, just packing a little surprise gift for your mom in her carry-on. Shawn-D: Where’s she going? Bo: Oh, yeah, that’s right. I wasn’t able to get ahold of you. She’s headed to Iowa. J.T.’s having surgery. Shawn-D: Oh, my gosh. Bo: No, it’s okay. He’s going to be fine. She just wanted to be there for him and, you know, help out the Reibers. Shawn-D: Yeah. Is she, uh, is she taking Zack? Bo: Yeah, we figured it would be best. Shawn-D: I wish I could go, too. Bo: Me too, but we can’t. We're going to have to keep each other company. Shawn-D: Oh...yeah. Bo: You're pretty busy this summer anyway, aren’t you? Helping out with Chloe and the Bone marrow drive, seeing your girlfriend as much as you can before she takes off to Columbia this fall. Hey, if you do want to go with your mom and your brother... Shawn-D: Yeah, well, I would, but -- Bo: I can get you a plane ticket. Shawn-D: I don’t know. Bo: I'll tell you what. Next weekend I have off, we'll go visit her. Shawn-D: Okay, yeah, that would be perfect. Bo: And don’t worry about J.T. This operation, they tell me it’s fairly routine. They kind of expected him to have -- hello? Can you hear me? Shawn-D: Yeah. Oh, yeah, you were saying that J.T.’s operation’s routine, and I'm glad that mom’s going to be able to spend some time with him. Um, I got to go. Bo: Whoa, hold on a second. There’s something I need to tell you. Shawn-D: Okay. Bo: It’s about Billie Reed. Shawn-D: What about her? Bo: Well, she’s back here in Salem, and she’s working with me at the precinct. Sami: So you're going to be working with my uncle Bo and my dad. I'll be sure to put in a bad word for you. Billie: My performance speaks for itself. Sami: And what kind of performance is that? Billie: You know, Sami, way back when Carrie and I had this apartment, if I had ever thought you'd be living in it and I would be your neighbor, I never would have let it go. Sami: Oh, you really hurt my feelings. Billie: Hmm. I'm going to check in with Commander Carver. Sami: 'Cause you are such an important person, I don’t want to keep you. Kate. Kate: Sami. Brandon: Why do you do that, Samantha? Sami: What? Brandon: Why do you pick fights with people? Sami: Because I don’t like her. Do you have a problem with that? Brandon: It’s embarrassing. Sami: And it isn’t embarrassing that she’s just come back to town to break up my uncle Bo and his wife? You think there’s nothing wrong with that kind of behavior? Brandon: You have no right to judge. Sami: Sure, I do. Everybody judges. That’s what life is all about -- you know, judging who u like, who you don’t like, who’s for you, who’s against you. Speaking of who’s against you, I saw your expression change when she mentioned Commander Carver. Brandon: You weren’t even looking at me. Sami: I sensed your expression changing. Brandon: I'm out of here. Sami: Look, I'm sorry, Brandon. The only reason I bring it up is because I don’t think it’s me you're mad at. I think Abe is the reason for all this anger that you have. Brandon: You don’t know a thing about it. Sami: Yes, I do. We used to be friends. You used to confide in me, although you probably regret it now. Brandon: What’s your point here, Samantha? Sami: Brandon, I am sorry that we have drifted so far apart. I would like us to be friends again. I'd like it if you could talk to me and lean on me. You helped me a lot, and I'd like to be able to help you. Chloe: I'm sorry. Philip: Sorry? For what? Chloe: I never realized that I cared that much about e way I look. I mean, I'm not a superficial person. Philip: Oh, no, of course you aren’t. You think I am? Because I'm telling you the honest truth right now. I don’t care if you lose all your hair, or whatever. You look beautiful to me no matter what. Chloe: Then why is it affecting me like this? I mean, I knew it was going to happen. Philip: But what are you feeling now? It’s not just about your hair. Chloe: I don’t know. Maybe it is. Maybe I'm more attached to it than I thought. I mean, my God, I could die from this disease, and this is what I'm crying about? [Sobbing] Oh, no. Philip: What? What? Chloe: I'm not supposed to get this close to anybody. Philip: But do you really want me to let you go? Philip: You are as beautiful as you ever were, Chloe. You're brave and strong, and that makes you even more beautiful. And think about what that chemo’s doing. It’s killing all the bad cells. Didn’t you hear what Craig said? You're going into remission. You're getting better, and you're going to stay better. Brady: [Chuckles] Craig: One of the volunteers here in Salem is a match for a little Boy in Pennsylvania. Brady: What about Chloe? Craig: Nothing yet. But there are new people entering the registry every day. Brady: Um, so, if they already found a match for this little Boy in Pennsylvania, that means that no one tested so far is even a preliminary match for Chloe, right? Craig: Yes, that’s -- that’s what that means. Brady: That’s it? That’s all you have to say? Craig: Well, what do you want me to say? Brady: How about... "I'm really frustrated, I'm upset, I should have done more, I should have diagnosed this earlier?" Craig: So that’s it. You think this is my fault. Brady: Well, it’s somebody’s fault, dr. Wesley, that nothing was done all of this time. All of these months when Chloe wasn’t feeling that well, now it’s practically too late. Craig: Chloe’s symptoms -- you know what? I don’t owe you any explanation. Brady: No, no, you don’t, but you sure as hell owe Chloe an explanation, 'cause while you stand there with that smug know-it-all look on your face, Chloe is the one who has to wonder whether or not she’s going to die. She’s the one who has to suffer the consequences of your stupidity! Craig: How dare you? Chloe is my stepdaughter, my wife’s daughter, and you come in here like this is your problem, like you're the one who’s suffering. Well, let me tell you something, you little son of a -- this is hell for me, okay? More than it is for you. So I don’t need you coming in here and reminding me that my child could die. You got that?! I don’t need you to come in here ever and tell me that my child is going to die! Craig: Nancy. I'm so sorry. Brady: No, no, no, no. I-I'm sorry. Really. Nancy: The two of you ought to be ashamed of yourselves. Chloe needs us all to get along. She needs our love. This is the last thing she needs -- people wasting precious time and energy on anger and accusations. Craig: You're right. Nancy: And just who the hell do you think you are, coming into my husband’s office, demanding answers, or whatever you came in here for? The other day you came to us with the great idea that we should look for Chloe’s biological father. Like we wouldn’t have thought of that ourselves! How could you insult us like that? And just how could you insult Chloe by coming into this office and upsetting the man who is like a father to her, who loves her deeply and would do anything for her? Anything! Brady: I really, truly am sorry about all this. I can’t think of anything else to say right now. Craig: Hey... we, um... we found a match for that little Boy in Pennsylvania, and it’s all because of the search for Chloe. Nancy: That’s a miracle. It’s wonderful. Craig: Yeah. Nancy: That reminds me there’s Hope. Craig: Of course there is. There’s plenty of it. Philip: Look how long I spent hoping that you and I would have another chance. Even when it seemed absolutely impossible, I kept believing it would happen. And the odds of you getting well are a lot better than that. So you have to keep the faith. I had this made because I hoped that much. And I understand why you couldn’t keep wearing it. Chloe: Put it on me now, Philip. Philip: Okay. Shawn-D: Billie’s a cop now. I don’t believe it. Bo: Yeah, big surprise to me, too. She gave up her career at Countess Wilhelmina, decided to make her contribution to society. Shawn-D: Yeah, well, mom must be thrilled. Bo: Well, she’s actually okay with it. And you should be, too, 'cause the situation’s under control. Shawn-D: Well, I don’t know if I'm okay with it. I mean, Billie coming back -- it seems like she’s just going to stir uup trouble. Bo: I don’t believe she is, and even if that’s the case, she will not succeed. Billie Reed will not interfere with our family. [Zack crying] Bo: Ooh. Shawn: I’ll get him. Bo: You sure? Shawn-D: Yeah. I want to. Bo: Hey, uh, do me a favor. Don’t make a big deal about this with your mom -- I mean, the Billie Reed thing. Shawn-D: Yeah, okay. I won’t even bup. Bo: Good. Bo: I promise you, fancy face, nothing will come between us ever again. Belle: My gosh Shawn, where are you? Maybe we shouldn’t stay here. Where could you go? Belle: No. Wait, where are you going? Please stop. Please! Shawn-D: You guys going somewhere? Zack, meet the aliens. Sami: You know how I feel about you, Brandon. You could obviously use a friend right now. Brandon: A friend? You don’t even know how to be a friend. What was all that territorial crap you just pulled with Billie? You call her pathetic? And all this clingy, dangerous stuff you've been pulling. Sami: Dangerous? Brandon: You know, you're right. I do regret that I ever called you a friend, that I ever confided in you about anything. Sami: You don’t mean that. Brandon: Oh, I do mean that. If anyone needs to talk, it’s you, Samantha, with a therapist. You need professional counseling. But it’s not going to be with me, all right? Sami: You're the one who needs therapy, Brandon, the way you've been acting lately. You obviously need help. I just wish I could be the one to give it to you. Kate: I still think Bo Brady was the reason you came back to Salem. But, you know, there are other handsome available men in town. Billie: Like Brandon? Oh, wouldn’t that drive Sami insane? Ha ha ha! Kill two birds with one stone, huh, mom? Kate: I just want to see you happy, Billie. Billie: I know. [Telephone rings] Billie: Oh. Hello? Mom, give me a second, will you? Billie: Hope’s plane reservations are confirmed. Perfect. Okay. Bye. Mom, I got to go. Kate: Hey, wait a minute. We haven’t finished our conversation. Billie: Mom, I don’t have time for Brandon or anybody else right now. I've got things to do, things to accomplish very quickly. Hope: Okay, thanks. Ooh. Where'd you come from? That was glen. He’s going to pick us up at the airport tomorrow. Bo: Good. So, now I have you all to myself. Hope: As long as Shawn doesn’t come barging in. Bo: Well, he knows better than that. He took Zack out someplace, so we got the house to ourselves. Hope: To ourselves. Shawn-D: They look like normal people, don’t they? Belle: Well, I am really glad that you brought something to eat. Shawn-D: Mmm. You want a pretzel? Belle: Hey. Shawn-D: Hey, hey. Hey, Zack. Zack, hey... Zack: [Babbling] Shawn-D: Pretzel. Pretzel. You eat them. Here, you want a pretzel? You eat them like this. Belle: Hey. Shawn-D: Hmm? Belle: Have you ever noticed that they look kind of alike? Shawn-D: Yeah. Yeah, now that you mention it, sort of like brother and sister. Girl: Bro-- broth-- brother. Belle: Are you brother and sister? Are you twins? Oh, my gosh. Shawn-D: What? Belle: Shawn, they came to us in the Gemini meteor shower. This is the coolest thing. They're the Gemini twins. Brady: Dr. Wesley, Mrs. Wesley... I really... truly am sorry about coming in here and acting like such a jerk. I just -- I hope the two of you know that all I want to do is help Chloe. So that’s what I'm going to do. Craig: Brady... you're a good man. Nancy: I am glad that you're in my daughter’s life. Brady: I'm not going to let you die, Chloe. There’s no way. Philip: I have a surprise for you. It’s on the balcony. Chloe: On the balcony? Philip: I'll give you a hint. I arranged it before I knew you were out of isolation. Watch yourself. Chloe: Bad hint. I still have no idea. Philip: All right. Chloe: [Coughs] Chloe: Oh, Philip. Philip: Forever. That’s what we'll have together -- years and years of happiness. I promise you. |
