Days of Our Lives Transcript Tuesday 7/23/02

By Amanda

Caroline: I still don't understand. Why would Stefano DiMera name you in his will?

Shawn: I got no idea, but there's no point in worrying about it.

Caroline: Well, if the DiMera’s are going to force their way back into our family's life, unless that changes, you bet I'm going to worry about it.

Jack: I know what you're doing.

Jennifer: Did you follow me here?

Jack: And you're not going to get away with it.

Brady: Chloe, how could you have Bocelli's CD for 12 hours and not play it once know. It -- fine. Yeah, I know. We expected tired. Yeah. But you know what? In a few days, you're going to be off chemo, and you're going to be up and around with energy to burn.

Yeah. Well, listen, you need some sleep, and I've got some stuff to do, so we'll talk later, okay? All right. And listen, Chloe, it gets easier from here. You'll see. All right, see you.

Brady: Mom?

Brady: Is that you?

Belle: Hey. Hey, where are you going? No, wait! No, no, no, no, no, no, look out! Oh! Shawn! Shawn, they're not coming up for air! I think they're drowning.

Sami: I couldn't say that I loved you that night. I wanted to, but I couldn't. It was too soon after Austin had walked out of my life. But I haven't been able to stop thinking about you since that night. I thought if I spent time with Tony, it would distract me, and it hasn’t. And then tonight when you were so concerned about me, I could feel your love for me, Brandon. And the feeling is mutual. I do love you, Brandon.

Marlena: Tony? Can you hear me?

Marlena: Aah!

Tony: Marlena. Marlena.

Marlena: Tony, what do you want from me?

Tony: Marlena.

Marlena: What is wrong with you? And don't tell me nothing. I won't believe you. Have you been lying to us?

Bo: I'm guessing import, postmarked DiMera land.

John: Yeah, or Transylvania. It's really nailed shut.

Bo: Not for long. What have I got here?

John: You know, if this is from Stefano...

Bo: Whatever he and Tony had planned ends right now.

Belle: Ooh. Are they breathing?

Shawn-d: Well, there's -- there's only one way to find out.

Belle: I can't believe they just jumped like that. Well, they didn't really jump. I don't think they knew they were going to sink. I swear, Shawn, I think they thought they could walk on water.

Shawn-d: I'm not getting anything.

Belle: Okay, we got to do mouth-to-mouth.

Shawn-d: No, don't, don't.

Belle: Shawn, I am not going to let them die.

Boy: [Coughing]

Girl: [Coughing]

Shawn-d: So much for dying.

Belle: What is wrong with you?

Shawn-d: I'm sick of chasing after these two. It's a game I’m tired of playing.

Belle: Shawn, what if these two are in a gang, and what if they did steal a bottle of wine from your grandparents' pub and clothes from Chloe’s parents?

Shawn-d: , Forget it.

Belle: Did it ever occur to you that maybe they need clothes, and maybe they need something to drink?

Shawn-d: No, it's a game. They had us going for a while, okay? But it's over. We're done.

Belle: No, Shawn, we are not done, and I'm not going anywhere.

Brady: She wasn't here. It was just a dream.

Isabella: I'm not a dream, Brady. I'm your mother. I'm real. I'm here to help you.

Sami: Nobody's ever kissed me like that before, Brandon. Do it again. Kiss me, Brandon. Don't ever stop.

Sami: Oh, Brandon, I know you want me. Why are you fighting it?

Brandon: I told you a long time ago, Samantha. You had your chance, you blew it.

Now it's time for me to move on.

Sami: With who --Lexie Carver?

Tony: Why would I lie?

Marlena: I don't know, but you are far more ill than you let on. I'm calling Colin.

Tony: No, no, no, no. No, I don't need a doctor. I know my symptoms are unusual, but I have no pain. Occasionally I lose focus, but I'm perfectly healthy.

Marlena: People who are perfectly healthy don't slip into a catatonic state.

Marlena: What?

Tony: Um, would you excuse me? There's something I need to do.

Lexie: Tony, what --

Tony: Security's been breached. I think its john.

Lexie: Damn him.

John: Come on, come on.

Bo: [Groaning]

John: Come on.

Bo: Damn, it won't budge.

John: You're almost there. Come on, Bo, one more.

Tony: I don't believe this. I invite you into my house, and this is how you repay me?

What the hell do you think you're doing?

John: I don't blame you for being a little upset, Tony.

Tony: I'm still waiting for you to explain what it is you're doing.

John: Obviously I didn't go outside for fresh air. I went to find Bo.

I knew he was upset, and I wanted to calm him down.

Lexie: So you decided to break into a private room and start spying. Yeah, that makes sense.

John: No, we heard some bumping around. We thought maybe someone was breaking in.

Tony: Oh, so you were in search of a prowler. But why pry open the crate? Did you think the prowler jumped in and nailed it shut from the inside?

Bo: Ha. Yeah. What's in the damn thing?

Tony: I don't know what's in the damn thing, and we're not going to find out until my father's will is read.

Marlena: Why is it here? Why did you hide it?

Tony: Because I didn't want to disturb things. You know, I thought we were all having a good time.

Bo: What you thought you'd do is spend the night dropping hints about your psycho father, and what that bastard's plans are for the Brady’s.

Lexie: Don't you dare talk that way about my father!

John: Look, we're all a little upset, and it's understandable, but we didn't mean any harm. Like I said, we heard some noise, and we came in here by mistake and, well, we got a little curious. That's all there is to it.

Lexie: Bull.

Bo: Lexie, don’t. I don't trust you any more than I trust him. There's no such thing as a reformed DiMera. You all have his blood in your veins. You're his, he's yours. You're all the same.

Tony: You couldn't be more wrong, Bo, and I'll prove it to you.

Marlena: And what does that prove?

John: Security.

Bo: No. Spy equipment.

Tony: I'm not going to judge the man. God knows he had his enemies. But if I’m going to live in his house, I'm going to live it my way. And in spite of your prejudice, Bo, my way is not my father’s.

Bo: You want us to believe you? Prove it. Open the damn crate.

Tony: I'm not going to violate my father's last wish.

Bo: Which was what, exactly? To make sure the Brady’s continue to suffer?

Tony: Hey, I understand that my father made you suffer. I understand your doubts. But I'll give you my word. I will show you who I really am, and what I’m made of.

Bo: I already know what you're made of -- lies. Just like your father, the master of lies. [Drops crowbar]

Tony: Well, it's getting late. I think we should go up for dinner. After you.

Lexie: Tony, what's in the box? You know, don't you?

Tony: Believe me, I have no idea, but knowing father...

Lexie: Someone's in for a real shock.

Tony: Yes. But the question is, who?

Brandon: Lexie is my friend.

Sami: She wants you, Brandon. Any fool can see that.

Brandon: Is that what this is about? You didn't want me, but you'll be damned if you'll let anyone else have me?

Sami: Are you sleeping with her?

Brandon: Not yet.

Sami: You said that to hurt me. Is that what you want? Does that make you happy? Then why?

Brandon: Because we could've had it all. I wanted that. I wanted to give you... It's over now.

Sami: But it doesn't have to be.

Sami: I want you, Brandon, as much as you want me. More.

Brandon: Good night, Samantha. And don't even think about crying.

Sami: I'm not going to cry, you arrogant bastard. I am too angry to cry.

Brandon: Well, it's too bad. The roses could use watering. And here's a tip for the road -- stay away from Tony.

Sami: Go to hell.

Brandon: You're playing with fire, Samantha, and if you don't stop, you're going to get burned. You always do.

Jennifer: I came here to have dinner, Jack.

Jack: Oh, since when do you dress like that just to eat at the pub?

Jennifer: I didn't dress "like that." I wore this to work, and I didn't feel like changing.

Jack: Oh, cut to the chase. I thought we agreed that we wouldn't go this alone. Because it's dangerous. And here you are, going it alone, and quite obviously, about to meet Colin Murphy. Now, look, I thought we connected on something here. I thought we were going to work together, do it the smart way, my way. So... Don't you have anything to say?

Jennifer: Would you just leave me alone, please? All right? It is over. Will you just accept that it is over? And whatever I do with my life is my business and no one else's, Jack Deveraux!

Boy: [Coughing]

Girl: [Coughing]

Shawn-d: Come on. We were conned, all right? And I am sick of playing this game.

Belle: You want me to believe we were conned? Okay, if we were conned, then explain to me how these two got into a spaceship that landed and burned right in front

of our eyes.

Shawn-d: I don't know, okay? Maybe we really did fall asleep and it was a dream, okay? Or we were confused.

Belle: No!

Shawn-d: Yes! Yes, okay? And, look, those two took advantage of us, and I'm sick of it!

Belle: Shawn, they look so scared and cold. Maybe we should take them home and give them something dry to put on.

Shawn-d: Are you crazy? No way.

Belle: Shawn, look, she's trying to tell you not to go. She's trying to tell you they need us.

Jack: Talk about sending

a message...

Jennifer: I am so sorry, but just play along, okay?

Jack: Just don't leave with Colin. How many times do I have to tell you,

Jennifer? I'm through chasing women who are after other men. I came here to ask you about Abigail, not your precious love life. I don't give a damn what you do or who you do it with. Damn! Give me a double, on the double. Hurry up.

Colin: If you’re ex is going to be propping up at the bar all night, this is the last place

you need to be. Let's go.

Jennifer: I can't.

Colin: What do you mean? Why not?

Belle: Look what you did.

Shawn-d: It's an act.

Belle: Do you really believe that? When she looked at you, did it feel fake or real?

Shawn-d: Okay, listen, I'm leaving. Are you coming or not?

Belle: Will you be okay? Shawn, they're trying to tell us something, but they don't know how.

Shawn-d: Yeah, right.

Belle: Look, they're watching us talk. They're trying to figure out how we do it.

Shawn-d: The only thing they're trying to figure out is how long they can keep this going. Can we please just get out of here, belle?

Boy: B-belle...

Isabella: Go on. Close your eyes. I'll still be here when you open them again.

Brady: All right. It's not like I'm not glad to see you. I've been waiting for that my whole life, but you have to understand that part of me is wondering, am I crazy?

While the other part is not wondering at all.

Brady: Wh-what is it?

Isabella: When you smile, you look like your father.

Brady: Look, if I’m supposed to believe in...Well, you, there's something that I need to know. Can you make Chloe better?

Isabella: The question is, can you?

John: Do you find it warm in here, or is it just me?

Tony: Oh, I’ll take care of that.

John: No, no, no. Don't knock yourself out. I'll just...Get some fresh air.

Tony: Ah. Say hello for me.

John: To who?

Tony: Well, whoever you come across. Last time it was the phantom burglar. Can't help but wonder who's next, can you?

John: Ha ha ha. Who said your stand-up routine wasn't funny?

Bo: About time.

John: So, did you find anything while you were searching the grounds?

Bo: No. What's going on in there? Why are you playing kissy-face with Tony?

John: What do you want me to do, follow your lead, alienate Tony every chance

i get? Look where it got you.

Bo: That's real supportive.

John: I'm not putting you down, Bo, but the man is slick. If i can keep him off his game, maybe I can buy myself enough time to find a way to play my game

a little bit better.

Marlena: Sami, the very idea of you being involved with someone like ton-- you're not listening to me, are you?

Sami: Well, Mom, I've heard it all before. Trust me. I know what I'm doing.

Marlena: That's what I’m afraid of.

Sami: Excuse me.

Tony: I was just about to join you.

Sami: Well, I wanted to speak to you one-on-one.

Tony: Why?

Sami: Tomorrow's going to be a tough day for you.

Tony: Well, for anyone.

Sami: But he's your father, and you're not just curious about what's in his will. You mourn him. And I want you to know that I’m going to be here for you, in whatever way you need.

Tony: Sami, I can't tell you how grateful I am for your kindness, how grateful I am that you're in my life.

Tony: you’ve been so quiet, Marlena. I was wondering why.

Marlena: Your friendship with my daughter disturbs me.

Tony: I don't understand. I thought you and John wanted our families to be friends. Isn't that why you came tonight?

Bo: Why the hell are you carrying that around?

John: Well, if you can think of a safer place for it, you're smarter than me.

Bo: I already knew that. I don't like it. You get close to DiMera, you get hurt. I don't want that to happen to you.

John: Well, better me than someone I love.

Tony: This is the book.

Marlena: Oh. Handsome.

Tony: Yes, John has an eye, doesn't he?

Marlena: John gave you this book?

Tony: He didn't tell you?

Marlena: He may have, and I simply forgot it.

Tony: Yes, I was, uh, rereading a story last night --

the fall of the house of usher." Do you remember it?

Marlena: Yes. Read it in high school.

Tony: Yes. Fascinating. A tad moralistic. Naive.

Marlena: How so?

Tony: Well, great families are made great for a reason, and those who forget tend to do so at their own peril.

Marlena: You're speaking, of course, of mr. Poe.

Tony: Mm. Well, john doesn't seem to be in a hurry to get back. Must've needed the air... This time.

Belle: He said my name, Shawn. He said my name. Belle. That's my name. It's short for Isabella.

Boy: Isa...Bella?

Belle: Yeah. What's your name?

Shawn-d: Oh...Mo smoke and mirrors.

Belle: Shh, I’m getting through to them. Don't spoil it.

Shawn-d: Hey. Do you want him to break your hand like he almost broke mine?

Belle: I don't think he'd hurt me, Shawn.

Girl: Shaw...Shaw...

Shawn-d: Pathetic. Come on. Come on.

Belle: Shawn.

Girl: Shaw...Shaw...

Shawn-d: Let's go.

Belle: Shawn. Look!

Shawn-d: What?

Girl: Sh-shaw... Shaw...

Shawn-d: Thank god that's over.

Belle: If it is.

Brady: How can I make Chloe better? I-I'm not a doctor. I can't save her life.

Isabella: "I lifted up mine eyes, and as at morn, the westward part of the horizon surpasses that wherein the sun goes down."

Brady: I'm sorry. What?

Isabella: Dante. He was always my favorite.

Brady: Oh.

Isabella: When I was very ill, that was almost the only thing that helped -- your father reading to me. Hearing his voice say those beautiful words about a love so deep it transcends everything we know -- every limit, every illness, every fear.

Brady: What does that have to do with Chloe?

Isabella: You don't know? Chloe needs you like I needed your father.

Brady: But... What can I do? How can I save Chloe

if i don't know how?

Isabella: Do what you can do, the one thing that no one else can do for chloe...Love her.

Jennifer: Actually, I have another reason I want to stay.

Colin: Does it involve jack?

Jennifer: Yes.

Colin: Then you're not over him.

Jennifer: Oh, I am, but I want him to see that. Maybe then he'll finally realize that I am ready to move on and forget him and be with someone else.

Colin: In that case,  what are we waiting for?

Lexie: Brandon, I'm really sorry. I had no idea tonight would turn out this way.

Brandon: I'm taking tomorrow off.

Lexie: Why?

Brandon: Stefano's service won't be easy for you. I want to be at your side.

Lexie: I don't know what to say.

Brandon: You're my friend, Lex. Wherever you need me, then that's where I'll be.

Bo: I'm going to take another look around.

John: All right, I'll catch up with you later.

Bo: All right.

Tony: Well, did you get lost?

John: Damn near. I forgot how extensive those gardens were.

Tony: Oh. Marlena and I had a great talk. I must say, John, you're a very fortunate man. Roman too.

John: Hmm, how's that?

Tony: Well, last time I saw Sami, she was this little girl. Now she's all grown up -- attractive woman. You must be all very proud.

Marlena: Your father will be furious.

Sami: Why are you making such a big deal out of this, Mom? Tony and I only had sex once.

Marlena: What?

Sami: I'm just kidding. What do you expect when you treat me like I’m 2?

Marlena: You know, you think you can behave any way you want when I’m around because I'm your mother. That's not so. And you know what else? When Roman finds out

the kind of game you've been playing with Tony, there's going to be hell to pay.

Sami: [Thinking] it'll be worth it at the end, as long as I get you, Brandon.

Lexie: Brandon, I really appreciate you coming tonight.

Brandon: My pleasure.

Tony: Well, uh, come again soon? But I guarantee you this, if they think they're prepared, they're wrong. Because if I know father, he knows how to shock, and he will shock everyone. You'll see.

Lexie: Everyone will.

Caroline: There you go.

Colin: Thank you.

Caroline: You're welcome. So, uh, would you like something else, dear?

Jennifer: Yes. Jack.

Caroline: For here or to go?

Jennifer: Will you tell him, please, that we need a moment of his time?

Caroline: Yeah, sure.

Colin: And what do we need Jack's time for?

Jennifer: Uh, I just need to ask him a favor.

Colin: A favor.

Jennifer: Yes. Trust me, really.

Jack: You rang, madam?

Jennifer: Yes. Abby is at your mother's, and I would like you to pick her up.

Jack: I thought she was staying over.

Jennifer: Well, I want her to come home tonight, and I want you to tell her that I will be home in plenty of time to tuck her in.

Jack: Is there a reason you can't tell her that when you pick her up?

Jennifer: I'm on a date, and I don't want to cut it short. Any more questions?

Jack: No. No, none. I'll see you around. Put that on our tab, will you? Good lad.

Colin: I enjoyed that.

Jennifer: You know, Colin, I have really been thinking a lot about what you said to me on the day that you kidnapped me.

Colin: Did you?

Jennifer: I have been really hard on you. Every time you try to tell me how you feel, I resist.

Colin: Because of Jack.

Jennifer: I just -- it was hard for me to let go of him, you know? But I have. And Brandon, too, so if you're at all interested, I would love to pick up where we left off in Africa.

Jack: I hope you know what you're doing, Jennifer. Even if you do, I still hate it.

Brady: I can't just start laying things on Chloe right now. I mean...I do. I-I'm pretty sure I do -- love her, I mean. But right now, she's so sick and so scared.

Isabella: I didn't say tell her. Just do it. Do the things that love does. Be what love is. In the end, that's what saves all of us.

Brady: In the end, as in eternity.

Isabella: "As at morn, the westward part of the horizon surpasses that wherein the sun goes down." Dante was writing about grace. It's what makes the sun come up every morning, and it is infinitely more powerful than anything or anyone who takes light away. Remember that.

[Knock on door]

Brady: Don't move, okay? Stay -- stay right here.

Belle: Brady.

Brady: Belle, before you say anything, there is something that I need to show you.

Belle: What? What?

Brady: A 12-run lead in the eighth. The cubs blew it. Can you believe that?

Belle: Yeah, I can, because it happened last week. Didn't anyone ever tell you you're supposed to clean?

Brady: Good news, guys. You don't have to wear wet clothes anymore. They invented

this funny little thing called the dryer.

Belle: That's very funny.

Brady: What happened?

Belle: Well, we came across these kids at the pier. They didn't know how to swim. We had to jump in and save them. Long story.

Brady: You're kidding.

Shawn-d: Yeah, uh, so do you have any dry clothes we could borrow?

Brady: Yeah, I can see what I have, but when I get back down, I want the rest of the story, please.

Belle: Yeah, Brady, you are not going to believe it.

Brady: Oh, Belle, you'd be surprised as to what I’m ready to buy into.

Shawn-d: Can we not get into this with your brother?

Belle: Why? We already told him what happened the night of the meteor shower.

Shawn-d: They're part of a gang. They're frauds. The sooner you can get that through your head, the better off you'll be.

Boy: Be-e-elle.

Boy: Belle.

Colin: Jennifer, are you sure?

Jennifer: You know, Colin, I think that I have been fighting it because -- because I was afraid. You know, I've been hurt, and I didn't want to go through that again. But I also don't want to go through the rest of my life wondering what might have been. I want what there could be for us, because like you said, we did have something very special together.

Colin: We do.

Jennifer: Then you're still interested. I mean, you still...

Colin: Want you? Jennifer, you'll never know how much. No, erase that. You'll know because I have every intention of showing just how much you mean to me.

Jack: Well, at least she didn't leave with the guy. So now I’m just now -- I'm supposed to stand around and watch her with him, even though it's just an act... If that's all it is.

Shawn-d: Anyway, we realized it was just gang kids messing around after the meteor shower.

Brady: Well, that's possible.

Belle: I don't think so.

Shawn-d: 'Cause you're not being rational. There's always a logical explanation

to anything people consider supernatural.

Belle: Do you believe that?

Brady: Yeah, most of the time. I mean, whenever something weird happens, that's always my instinct -- to look for the logical explanation. Although it depends on how you define logical.

Shawn-d: Meaning?

Belle: Meaning there are lots of intelligent people that believe there are things we don't know about this universe -- things beyond the universe.

Brady: "The westward part of the horizon surpasses that wherein the sun goes down."

Belle: What does that mean?

Brady: It means that good is stronger than evil, light beats darkness, and love transcends all that we know. Every limit, every illness, every fear.

Boy: Be--

Girl: Sha-- shaw--

Boy: Be-elle. Shaw--
