Provided By Suzanne Abe: All these weeks of worrying and wondering, it finally happened. Lexie: Uh-oh! I see your tummy. I see your tummy. Abe: Lexie, we have to talk. Lexie: I see your tummy. There's nothing to talk about. Abe: Nothing to t-- Hope is suing us for the custody of Isaac. Lexie: If Bo and Hope want a fight, then that's what they'll get. I'm prepared to pull out all the stops. Abe: Lexie -- Lexie: I've already called Cameron Reese. Abe: Without talking to me? Now you know I don't want her involved. Lexie: Yes, Abe, I do know that, and guess what. I don't give a damn. Bo: Okay, have him give me a call if you hear from him. Yeah. Thanks. Hope: Any word on Shawn? Bo: I've called everywhere. Hope: Oh, God. Okay, maybe my Dad found him, and they'll pull up together any minute, Bo. Bo: J.T. go down for his nap? Hope: Yeah. Yeah, he did. I hated to wake him at Gran's, but I really wanted to get him home -- you know, where he belongs. Bo: The judge ruled in the Reibers' favor. Hope: I know. I was there. I remember. I'm sorry. I just -- I have to believe, Brady, that there is something that we can do to stop it. I'm not giving up on him. He's our baby boy. Bo: And he's still under our roof. Hope: Yes, he is. Bo: Oh, man, I'm worried about Shawn. He freaked when he heard that Jan lost the baby. That on top of this deal with J.T. and Isaac. [Knock on door] Hope: Oh. Did you find him? Doug: No, we checked everywhere -- .Com, Salem Place, the school. Julie: I realize you didn't have time to tell us over the phone, but, please, we need to know what's going on. Doug: Yeah, is my grandson in some kind of trouble? Shawn-D: Dear God, are you listening? She lost the baby. Jan had a miscarriage. Everything was going so well. We were taking such good care of her -- Mom and Dad and me. And she was eating right, and... and now they're coming for J.T. -- Glen Reiber and his lawyer. I can't lose my little brother, too. [Sobbing] So you got to help me. I'll make you a deal. Just let me keep my brother, and I will, uh... why should I make any deals with you? You don't keep your end of the bargain. [Musical instruments tuning] Jennifer: Can you believe this? I mean, ringside with Eubie Banks. This is like a private performance. Aren't you excited? Brandon: Well, I'm more excited about spending time alone with you. I mean, after we get out of this zoo. Jennifer: I know. This is a zoo, isn't it? You know what? It's a complete circus, and I am just hoping I get to see Jack jump through some flaming hoop at any moment. Brandon: Something's telling me that Jack's already gone up in flames. As far as this job is concerned. Jennifer: Oh, I am so looking forward to this. Chico: Don't get attached to my money, Dever-ox, 'cause as soon as you show your face, pow! And my boy Chauncey -- he grabs the briefcase with the dough, and we blow this joint. Man: All right, final dress rehearsal. Ladies and gentlemen, Wentworth International is proud to present Eubie Banks and his E.B. Street Band. [Cheers and applause] Man: And for the first time on the stage of the grand ballroom, the most beautiful girls in show business -- and they can dance, too -- please give a warm welcome to the Wentworth Dolls! Jack: I can't do this! I can't! Greta, Harold, I'm out of here. I'm out of here! [Dance music playing] Greta: He's going to kill us, Jack. The only way to get out of this alive is to do this. Jack: No, I can't. Harold: Ditch the briefcase, you idiot! It's not worth it. Jack: I can't. I can't. Man: What are you three waiting for? You're on. Go, go, go, go! Harold: Come on! Jack: How's my hair? Jack: Ah! Help me! Help me! Brandon: That big redhead can't dance at all. You suppose she's sleeping with one of the producers? Jennifer: Take a closer look, Brandon. Greta: Ow! Ow! Jack: I'm sorry. Brandon: That can't be -- Jennifer: It is! It is! Jack: Uhh! Brandon: Don't tell me this is the job Jack was so eager to get. Oliver: What do you think of the show so far, huh? A bit rough. It's only a rehearsal, but by tonight, we'll work out the kinks. Jennifer: Oh, Mr. Wentworth, the costumes are spectacular. Harold has done a great job. Oliver: I'm very proud of my son. Jennifer: Well, you should be. Oliver: He has many talents. Brandon: Yeah, he, uh, he moves well, too. Oliver: How do you mean? Oliver: My God, I can't believe it. Brandon: What, that he's in drag? Oliver: How much he reminds me of his mother. Harold: Get ready to turn. Jack: These heels are killing me. Uhh! Chauncey: Ha ha ha ha. Jack: [Whimpering] Oliver: What -- what's going on? Eubie: This number could use a little sole. Oliver: That's Jack. What the heck does he think he's doing? Jennifer: Oh, my gosh, I have no idea. Oliver: Excuse me while I get to the bottom of this. Jennifer: Oh! Oh, oh, this is not good. Brandon: No kidding. Jack: [Groaning] Abe: You know, I know how frightening this is, but Isaac's my son, too. Hmm? And if we're going to have any chance at all, Lex, we have to proceed as a team. Lexie: Who's my sweet little boy, hmm? Who's my darling? Who's my darling? Abe: Lex, you know, personally, I think we need to sit down with the Brady's and a mediator, work something out. If we have to get the lawyers involved, then I want somebody I can trust. I don't want Cameron Reese involved in any part of this. Lexie: It's too late. She's already on the case. Abe: Come here. Lexie: What are you doing? Abe: I'm going to put him in his playpen. Is that all right? Lexie: Here. Abe: Hey, come here, big guy. Yeah. Yeah, come on over here. Come on. Yeah, you want to play with Mr. Bear, huh? Yeah. Mr. Bear's right here. Lexie: He wants his truck. I'll get it. Abe: Yeah, but don't run off. I've got something I want to say to you. Lexie: Fine. I'm listening. Isaac: I want that. Abe: Yeah, you can play with that. It's okay. It's okay. So, are you, huh? I mean, you got your arms laced across your chest, and you're looking through me like I'm not even here. You're in full-blown DiMera mode. Which means your mind is closed and you're not hearing a damn word that's coming out of my mouth. Lexie: Don't you dare mock me, Abraham Carver. Abe: I'm not. I don't like this situation any more than you do. But when you... put on this armor, I've got to wonder where my wife went. And I need her. I need her strength and her compassion. Lexie: Get to the point, please. Abe: We're Carvers. You and me. We don't do things the way your father would. Bo and Hope are our best friends. We've known them practically our whole lives. Lexie: They're trying to steal our baby, Abe. Abe: No, steal is not a word that I would use. Lexie: Look, I won't let them take him. If you're not going to help me, if you don't love that little boy enough -- Abe: I couldn't love him more if he were my own flesh and blood. If he was in danger, I'd lay down my life for him. Lexie: Abe, he is in danger. Don't you see that? Abe: Look, we got to face some facts here. Hope is Isaac's biological mother. She has a legitimate claim to him. That's what the judge is bound to say if we go to court. Lexie: Look, I don't care. I don't care about judges or courts or whatever ridiculous law that would take my little boy away from me. Abe: I am the law, Lexie. Lexie: Then I feel sorry for you, Abe. I thought you were a human being. I'm going to do whatever it takes to protect our son, and either you're with me, or you're against me. Doug: Oh, dear God. It never rains, it pours. And, you, my precious girl, are right in the middle of a flash flood. Julie: Well, no wonder Shawn was so upset. Hope: Daddy... Doug: Oh. Julie: Well, we're here to help, and what can I do? Bo: Being here is enough. Julie: Have you had anything to eat, sweetheart? Bo: No, she hasn't. Julie: Okay. I'll just sort of whip something up. Oh! Hope: I'm not hungry, Julie. Julie: It's for Shawn. It's from Pepperdine University. Bo: Probably a response to his application. Doug: I didn't know Shawn was thinking about going to college in California. Julie: Well, this is too big to be a rejection notice, so maybe it's good news. Bo: Maybe he got accepted. He sure could use a change right now. Uh, could you guys hang here with Hope while I go look for my son? Doug: You got it. Bo: All right, thanks. I'll be back soon. Hope: Okay. Dad, Julie, I -- I'm okay. Really. If there's something that you need to go and do, I'm fine, really. Doug: Hey, hey, hey, you're my little girl. Where else would we be? Julie: Nothing is more important than our family. Hope: Mine's falling apart. I am falling apart. Doug: Yeah, well, you're just going through a very rough time right now, but you'll get through it. You've done that before. Hope: Nothing's ever hit me this hard, Daddy. And it just doesn't stop. Julie: You know, when you told us that Shawn had gotten this girl pregnant, that was bad enough, but then to lose the child... Doug: Maybe it's for the best. Julie: Doug. Doug: Yeah, it's a tragedy, I know, a tragedy, and I'm sorry, but I think maybe this child was not meant to be. I mean, Shawn and this girl, they're kids themselves. They're not ready to be parents. Julie: Still... Doug: No, Shawn needs to focus on finishing high school, his senior year, college, the future. I would have hated to see him put the rest of his young life on a shelf. And he's such a stand-up guy, that's exactly what he would have done just for the sake of that child. Hope: You're right. Shawn's been trying to take responsibility for everything -- Jan, J.T. Doug: Yeah, well, he can get himself into trouble, but I've never seen him turn tail and run. Hope: [Crying] Doug: Oh... Oh... Hope: I'm so worried about him, Daddy. I mean, he's lost so much at once -- his unborn child, his girlfriend Belle, and now maybe even... Julie: Maybe even J.T. Hope: It's too much. I'm so afraid of what he might do. Shawn-D: When Jan was raped, I stood by her. I kept her secret because that's what my conscience told me to do. And when she told me she was pregnant and was thinking about having an abortion, I talked her out of it because I wanted to save that precious child. And for what? For nothing! 'Cause you let the baby die, and you just stood by and you just watched it happen! And I told everyone that I was the father of this baby because I made a sacred vow to Jan and you. All my friends turned their back on me, and Belle -- well, who knows if she'll ever trust me again? Because I broke her heart, but I kept my promise. Is this my reward?! [Sobbing] And J.T. -- remember him? So many times, we thought that we were going to lose him, but you answered our prayers. And now -- now Glen Reiber is just going to come into town and take him away. I mean, is this some sort of sick joke? Because I don't get it! Okay? And I am not going to accept it! Do you hear me? [Dance music playing] Jack: Ooh! Ahh! Ahh! Ahh! Chico: Aye, aye, aye. That is one ugly broad. Jennifer: Where have I seen that guy before? Brandon: Well, in Vegas, everyone's a celeb. Jennifer: Oh, gosh. Oh, gosh. Go, go, go. I saw him. I saw him on the KVBC Newscast. He and some other guy held up an armored car, and they're wanted for armed robbery. Brandon: No way. Jennifer: Way way. We got to find Oliver. We got to give him a heads up. Brandon: All right, he went backstage. You warn him, and I'll handle the goon. Jennifer: Okay, you be careful. Brandon: Hey, if anything goes down, please stay out of it. Jennifer: Oh, man, I hope this has nothing to do with Jack. Jack: Ahh! [Panting] Woman: Bitch! Jack: Bitch? Wh-- hey, wait a -- that's mine! Give it back! Help! Oh, Harold, where are you? Harold? Harold, think fast! Harold: Aah! I don't want it! [All shouting] [Crash] [Music stops] [Cymbals crash] Greta: [Groans] Ow. [Jack groaning] Eubie: Hey, I believe this is yours. [Rim shot] Jack: [Panting] Shawn-D: I always wore this close to my heart, 'cause that's where I thought you were -- so close. Was I kidding myself? I don't know where you are anymore. Are you here in this place that has your name over the door? Or are you -- are you watching from a distance as innocent babies just die and families just fall apart? I don't know how much worse it could get, Lord, but I guess -- I guess you do! I just bet you have another bomb to drop, so go on! Okay? Take your best shot! Bo: Shawn-Douglas. Doug: Shawn is a good kid. I know he wouldn't do anything stupid. Julie: Sometimes people say they are not hungry, but when food is in front of them, they eat. Hope: Thanks, Julie, but you two help yourselves. Julie: Well, it's there if you care to enjoy it. Doug: You know, if Isaac comes to stay with you soon, to live with you soon, uh, it may very well help Shawn to heal. Hope: Oh, Daddy, Shawn isn't interested in Isaac, not at all. He's so angry about J.T. Doug: And, my God, you know, I'm realizing as I'm saying this, Isaac is my grandson. Hope: Yes, he is. Julie: Yeah, and Lexie Carver has our grandson. This is unbelievable. Hope: You know, at first I -- I didn't quite know how to feel, but when I held him the other day in my arms, I -- I knew right down to the marrow of my bones that he was my flesh and blood. Doug: Yeah. Hope: Daddy, it was amazing. It was -- it was truly amazing. I can't wait till he's home with all of us. He can bounce on that knee of yours, Daddy. Doug: Well, you know, at least one good thing has come out of all this. Hope: Meaning? Doug: Meaning that for almost two years now, I've been listening to you blame yourselves for having given birth to a child with fetal alcohol syndrome. Now we know that's not true. You did not abuse alcohol when you were pregnant. You are not responsible for J.T.'s medical problems. Hope: Isaac is my biological child. He's perfectly healthy. Doug: Right. And now, honey, I have to ask, do you know who the father is? Julie: Doug. Doug: Well, I mean, now that we are sure it's not John Black. Julie: Come on, don't you think she's had enough stress for one day? Hope: Julie, it's all right. Actually, um, I'd be happy to clear up that one particular mystery so I can put it behind me once and for all, but, unfortunately, the only thing I am sure of is that it isn't Bo. Doug: No chance? Hope: Well, I can hope and I can pray and wish all I want, but Bo knows for a fact that we weren't together during that time. Julie: Your husband -- I hope you know he's one in a million. Hope: He's the best. He is the best. He's shown me in so many different ways that he could love any child of mine. But I really have to be honest with myself here, and... I know it has to be killing him. Doug: Yeah. Hope: I mean, think about it. It was bad enough when we thought that John was the father, but now? Julie: Darling, you were never unfaithful to Bo. You thought you were Gina then. Doug: Have you remembered anything about that lost time, some clue, however small? Hope: I don't know, really, how relevant this is, but -- Doug: But? Go on. Hope: But I've been having these white flashes. Julie: White flashes? Hope: Yeah, my whole field of vision just completely -- it goes white. It only lasts for a second or two, but the point is, I have absolutely no idea what it means. Eubie: Hey, nice kick, man. Jack: Hey. You're Eubie Banks. I'm one of your biggest fans. Eubie: Thanks, man. Thanks. Harold: Oh, Jack's more than a fan. He's a closet case. He's got a thing for you. Eubie: Ooh, sorry, man. Hey, I'm already taken. I'm with Jay, late night, every night. I'm always with Jay. Others may dig Ted or Bill or Dave, but not me. I got to be loyal to Jay. Jack: Who the hell is Jay? Oliver: This is a disaster. Man: Mr. Wentworth, I swear I never saw that crazy gal before in my life. Oliver: Get that idiot out of here. Man: You heard the boss. Go. Jennifer: Mr. Wentworth, okay, you got big trouble. Oliver: Tell me something I don't know. Chauncey: Are you all right? Jack: Ooh. Chauncey: There you go. You're okay. You all right? You. Jack: You. Women: [Screams] Greta: Jack, just let go! All: [Yelling and screaming] Jennifer: [Gasps] Jack: I got -- I-I -- aah! Jennifer: Jack! Jack! Jack, can you hear me? Jack! Oh, my gosh. That's the other crook. You guys got to stop him. You got to stop him! Jack: [Moans] Chauncey: Sweet dreams, Dever-ox. Shawn-D: Leave me alone. Bo: You feel wounded. You're in pain. And you think it's someone's fault. I understand that. Shawn-D: No. No, you don't. Bo: We're all hurting, Shawn. Did you ever stop to consider that maybe it's no one's fault? Shawn-D: I don't believe that. Bo: Is it Glen Reiber's fault that he wants his own son? Is your mom wrong to need Isaac? 'Cause you sure made her feel that way by tearing into her at the hospital. Shawn-D: Look, I don't need a lecture. Bo: Okay, then maybe we'll have a discussion, 'cause your days of ripping into us and then taking off are over. Listen to me. So what? Is Jan to blame for losing the baby? Or maybe it's your fault. With everything that you did, maybe somehow, you didn't do enough. Shawn-D: I tried my best. Bo: So what? Is it God's fault? Shawn-D: Why are you doing this? Bo: Because you're being arrogant. Shawn-D: What? Bo: You're a hero, Shawn, and I love you for it. You're courageous, inventive. You got heart to spare. But you're missing one important quality -- humility. Shawn-D: Give me a break. Bo: Listen to me. You know that poem -- "God, grant me the courage to change the things that I can, the humility to accept the things I can't, and the wisdom to know the difference." Shawn-D: Yeah, something alcoholics tell themselves. Dad, I'm not an alcoholic. Bo: A lot of terrible things happen to us, Shawn -- horrible things that we don't understand -- because we don't have the wisdom. We got to live through this stuff, suffer through it, have huge parts of ourselves burned away, and then maybe, just maybe, we'll understand, if we're lucky. Shawn-D: Are you saying I should just lie down and let them take J.T. away, they will be done? Bo: No, I want you to stand tall with your mom and me and not push us away. This anger you're feeling -- I know all about that. I feel it in my guts, but I'll tell you something -- it's not going to change anything that's happened. We got to pick up the pieces of our broken hearts, put one foot in front of the other, and move forward, and we got to do that as a family. Shawn-D: Our family will never be the same without J.T. Bo: Our family will never be the same without J.T.... but we're still a family. Doug: Have you seen a doctor about these flashes? Julie: Certain kinds of headache -- migraine headaches are accompanied by a flash of light. Hope: I don't know. I'm sure it isn't anything physical. It has an emotional pull, like memory, only there's no memory attached. Something has to be triggering it. Julie: What's triggering it? Hope: I have no idea. Doug: Okay. Have you told Bo? Hope: Well, yeah, I told him the first few times it happened, but -- wait a minute. I just said there was no memory attached, but that's not true. Once, I -- I remember seeing a white glove opening a door. Doug: Okay, okay. Whose hand? Hope: I don't know. Julie: Maybe you should see a therapist, honey. If I may say so, not Marlena, because I don't think she could be, well, objective. Doug: No, no, I think you need to discuss it with Bo. Hope: No, not right now, Daddy. Doug: Yes, right now. Right now with your husband. I think he may be able to help you figure out what it means. Hope: Mnh-mnh. With everything that's going on with our children right now, the last thing Bo needs to worry about is me. Julie: I understand how you feel, but I believe you should listen to your father. You could be making a big mistake. Abe: You know your mama loves you so much. I'm afraid she's blinded by her love for you. So we have to help her do what's right. Isaac: Mama. Abe: Even though that may mean losing you, and I can hardly bear that thought. I love you just as much as your mama does, but there are lines that I just can't cross, Isaac, and I can't let her cross them, either. Lexie: [Thinking] So you're against me, Abe. If I have to, I'll fight this on my own. I won't let anyone take my little boy away. Bo: You got a letter from Pepperdine. I think you were accepted. Shawn-D: I don't care. I'm not going to college. Bo: Come on. Why don't we go on home? Shawn-D: I'll be home later. Bo: Your mom needs you. So does J.T. We don't know how much longer he's going to be with us. Don't you want to spend as much time as you can with him? Bo: Come on. Hope: All right. Once everything is resolved, then I'll tell Bo more about the white flashes, okay? Julie: That could take a while. We all agree that Bo is one in a million, so you need to trust him and let him help you. Hope: I've asked so much of him already. It just doesn't seem fair. Doug: From all you've told me, princess, the one thing that Bo cannot handle is when you keep any kind of secrets from him. Hope: If only he was Isaac's biological father. Julie: Well, sweetie, he is going to be the child's father in every way that counts. The two of you should be working together to reunite the family, to get the baby back from the Carvers. Hope: Right now, I just want to go to sleep. Doug: Yeah. You get some rest. I'm sure you need it, but... when you wake up, you think about this -- you and Bo have always been great at solving mysteries together. You team up on this, you'll solve this one, too. You'll figure out the white flashes, you'll figure out who Isaac's father is. And believe me, you will not be happy until you do. Man: All right, keep still, all right? Grand larceny plus attempted murder of a drag queen -- how many years is that? Man #2: Don't forget about working backstage without a union card. Man: Oh, yeah. Man #3: All right, ladies, we'll start again in a few minutes as soon as we fix things and run a sound check. Oliver: You all right, princess? Greta: Yeah, thanks to Harold's quick thinking. If he hadn't come up with these disguises, I think we'd be dead by now. Oliver: My son's a hero. Come here. Jack: I just did what any good citizen would do in a similar situation -- risked my life to bring two notorious criminals to justice. Say, there isn't a reward, is there? Man #4: First, let's make sure you have the evidence. Jack: Oh, certainly, certainly, certainly, certainly. Ha ha ha. Voilą -- the moola. Man #4: Are you trying to be funny? Jack: Funny? I-I'm just -- wait a minute. But -- Jennifer: Excuse me. I think this is what you're looking for. Man #4: That's it. Jack: But I could have sworn it -- Man #4: Thank you very much. Jennifer: You're welcome. Man #4: I appreciate it. I'll need a statement from each one of you, and let's start with you, if we could. Brandon: Be glad to help. Man #4: Over here. Excuse me. Jack: I-I can explain everything. Jennifer: Don't bother, Jack. Jack: No. Jennifer, Jennifer, you have to listen to me. Jennifer: You listen to me. There is no possible excuse for putting Harold and Greta's lives in danger. Jack: They mixed up the briefcases. I was trying to return the money like the honest soul that I am, but they were trying to kill me, and I was trying to get this job! Jennifer: Would you just stop babbling, okay? Jack: Greta thought one thing about me, and Oliver somehow thought another thing. Jennifer: I know. I know all about your little secret. Jack: Greta told you. Jennifer: She didn't tell me anything. I guessed it. Jack: Same difference. Jennifer: You know what? You have no one to blame but yourself, and I will never forgive you for this. Jack: Jennifer, no, there were extenuating circumstances. Jennifer: No, you cannot put a Deveraux spin on it. It is so simple. Either you lied to Harold and Greta about being gay, or you lied to me through our whole marriage, so which is it? Jack: I -- well -- well, th-the truth is -- Jennifer: No! Spit it out. Right now. Are you or aren't you? Jack: [Echoing] I am not gay! |
