Philip: Hey. What's up?

Chloe: Hi.

Philip: I missed you.

Mimi: Was she not just with Brady? What's up with those two?

Cynthia: She must've seen that video by now. You know, me and Phil, getting down and dirty. How can she still talk to him?

Abe: Oh, Eliana, I got a message to come home right away. Now, what's wrong?

Eliana: Nothing, as far as I know. Isaac is upstairs, and your wife is awaiting you in the living room.

Abe: All right. Thank you, thank you.

Abe: What's all this?

Lexie: It's all for you.

Shawn-D: The hearing's got to be over by now. I'm going to call the courthouse. [Door opens]

Bo: The judge ordered that we share custody of J.T. with the Reibers in preparation for them taking full custody.

Shawn-D: Oh, no, they can't do that. We have to stop them.

Bo: Shawn --

Shawn-D: And if you and Mom won't, I will, because I am not going to let them take my brother.

Belle: Jan.

Jan: What?

Belle: Is Shawn home?

Jan: No.

Belle: Are his parents here?

Jan: No.

Belle: Then why are you here?

Jan: Shawn didn't tell you? I live here now.

Belle: Why?

Jan: Why? I am practically family. I am having Shawn's baby -- Mr. and Mrs. Brady's grandchild. So until we can find a place of our own to raise our little son or daughter, this is home sweet home.

Philip: Okay. That's fine. I know you didn't miss me.

Chloe: Philip --

Philip: No, really, I understand. You didn't want to come to Vegas with me, and you sure didn't want to talk to me on the phone.

Chloe: So you were standing right there when Belle called, weren't you? And you were mad that Brady was with me.

Philip: Look, I know it's hard to believe, but I can take a hint. I thought we were working on being friends, but right now you look like I'm the last person you want to be talking to.

Chloe: No, it's -- it's not you. It's me. I'm just -- I've been feeling tired.

Philip: I thought you looked pale, not that you're not beautiful... Chloe, what is wrong? Do you have a fever?

Chloe: No, I-I just -- I haven't been sleeping well lately, and I think maybe I caught a flu bug and I'm having trouble shaking it.

Philip: This has been going on for a long time.

Chloe: I-I just feel out of it, that's all.

Philip: I hope that's all it is. I mean, you're not still upset about me and Cynthia, are you?

Chloe: Can we not talk about this right now?

Philip: Yeah, yeah. Yeah, but I just want to let you know that you were great about the whole thing, about letting go of that stupid security video of me and Cynthia. You didn't see it, did you? Stupid question. Of course you didn't, or else you would've said something, right?

Chloe: Uh, yeah, obviously.

Philip: I'm just glad Belle destroyed it so we can move on. She did get rid of that thing, right?

Cynthia: Does she have any feelings? How could she watch that video and not want to bash Philip over the head with a heavy object?

Mimi: News flash, Cyn -- Chloe hasn't seen that video, and she never will.

Lexie: The food's getting cold. Come on. Sit.

Abe: Like a good dog, hmm?

Lexie: Oh, so that's the gratitude I get after three hours in the kitchen.

Abe: You made this?

Lexie: Mm-hmm. Look, honey, I-I know that you miss our old life in our old house, and you think that I'm not the same person who used to live there with you, and you're right. I have changed. You know why? Because I'm a mother, and as much as you might want to, there's no going back.

Abe: You know, let me be clear about something. I don't want to go back to a time before we were a family of three. I don't care what your father did or didn't have to do with this. I have never, ever wished that Isaac didn't come into our lives.

Lexie: I know. I-I know. I know that you love Isaac, and, honey, you are such a good father but you're not a mother, and I think that you're reading a lot into what I believe is just natural behavior for any woman whose child is in danger.

Abe: Am I?

Lexie: Yes. To you, I am villainess DiMera. You might not have any regrets about Isaac, but, um, well, I think that you wish you'd never married me.

Abe: Oh, Lex --

Lexie: Abe, we can't even say "Happy Anniversary" to each other.

Abe: Is that what this is all about?

Lexie: Honey, I love Isaac, and I love you, and all this tension between us, it's because we do love so much. I am so sorry for the things I said, if I ever made it sound like I didn't believe that you were a good father to our son.

Hope: Is Gran okay?

Bo: Yeah, yeah. She just wanted to give us some family time.

Shawn-D: "Is Gran okay?" J.T. is never going to be okay again because he's going to have to live with strangers the rest of his life.

Bo: They won't always be strangers. They're already getting to know one another. The judge and the social worker think that Glen and Barb will be fine parents.

Shawn-D: Fine.

Bo: And they'll have more time to get to know one another before they leave town.

Shawn-D: What? They're leaving town? Where are they going?

Bo: Iowa.

Shawn-D: No -- no. We're going to -- we're going to appeal or something, right?

Bo: If I thought we had a chance, yes, I would. But it wouldn't be fair to your brother here to drag this out. The younger he is when he bonds with Glen and Barb, the better off he'll be. The same is true for Isaac.

Shawn-D: Isaac?

Bo: Look, we are not trying to replace J.T., but there's another little boy out there who belongs in our family, and your mom and I have thought an awful lot about this. We're filing for custody.

Shawn-D: We didn't even talk about this.

Bo: Shawn --

Shawn-D: And you know what? I'm not interested, because Isaac is not my brother. J.T. is.

Hope: I don't ever want to hear you say that again. Do you hear me, Shawn? They are both your brothers -- J.T. and Isaac.

Abe: Ooh. Ha ha ha. Ah, mmm. That's the best meal I've had in a long time.

Lexie: Well, that just goes to show you.

Abe: What?

Lexie: We have a 5-star chef living in this house -- and it's not me. But he gets paid to cook. So maybe what you're liking so much about this meal is all the love that went into it.

Abe: I didn't forget our anniversary, Lexie.

Lexie: I knew you hadn't. But I also knew why you couldn't acknowledge it... Because there's been so much tension between us. And I want you to know that I understand. I do. I understand why you're pulling away, and I don't blame you, Abe. It's just that I-I need you so much.

Abe: Sweetheart, please.

Lexie: Uh-huh.

Abe: [Chuckles] Oh, yes, yes, yes. You know... I want to be there for you. I want to be the one to take care of our family. Not Stefano, not his main man Rolf. Don't you trust me?

Lexie: More than anything in my life.

Abe: Then let me take care of you. Please.

Lexie: Then you do still want us to be a family?

Abe: Of course I do.

Lexie: Mm.

Abe: Oh, honey, uh, stay right here.

Lexie: What?

Abe: Um...

Lexie: [Gasps]

Abe: I got this for our anniversary, but it just didn't seem like the time.

Lexie: Haa.

Abe: It's all the songs that were played at our wedding reception.

Lexie: What -- wait. How long did it take you to make this? I mean, how did you keep this a surprise?

Abe: I didn't think you'd want to remember how we were then.

Lexie: Aw.

Abe: But I guess you do, don't you?

Lexie: Mm-hmm.

[Luther Vandross's "Here and Now" playing]

Lexie: Oh.

Abe: May I have this dance, please?

Lexie: Why, certainly.

Luther Vandross: One look in your eyes and there I see

Hope: Oh. Come here. Come here, honey.

Bo: I think it's somebody's nap time, huh? Give your mama a kiss?

Hope: Mwah. Here, will you take this with you?

Bo: Yep. All right, gotcha. I gotcha. I gotcha.

Hope: Shawn... do you think that loving Isaac is going to take anything away from J.T.?

Shawn-D: I'm afraid if another baby comes to live with us and starts calling you mom and me brother, that we'll forget about J.T., and I don't ever want to stop missing him.

Hope: Don't you think that we feel the same way? My God, come here. Do you want J.T. to stop missing us?

Hope: He can't be sad his whole life, and neither can you, Shawn.

Shawn-D: I don't want to give up, Mom.

Hope: I don't want to give up, either.

Shawn-D: But if you go after Isaac, then that's just saying to everybody that a baby belongs with his natural parents.

Hope: No. I think J.T. belongs with us, and I think Isaac belongs with us. But if that can't happen, what, would it make you feel better for me to give up both of my babies?

Shawn-D: I'm sorry, Mom.

Hope: Okay.

Shawn-D: I'm -- I'm really sorry.

Belle: Okay. Well, if Shawn's not here...

Jan: I'm really sorry about all this, Belle.

Belle: You can stop, Jan. I never believed you.

Jan: Why don't you come in and wait? Shawn should be back really soon.

Belle: I don't think so.

Jan: Well, I need to sit down. Ugh, it is so not easy being pregnant.

Belle: You look good.

Jan: Yeah. Shawn keeps telling me how good I look, too. He does everything he can to help make me feel better. He massages my back and... I wasn't sure about this whole parenting thing, but Shawn -- he's so into it. He's the best. I guess I don't need to tell you that, though.

Belle: Bye, Jan.

Jan: I'll tell Shawn you came by.

Belle: No, you won't. You have never told the truth about a single thing in your entire life. Let me welcome you to reality, Jan. Shawn doesn't love you. He loves me. And now he's stuck with you, and if he doesn't hate you already, he will, because you are ruining his life. He'll hate you as much as I do.

Chloe: That stupid video. Do you know how tired I am of hearing about it and talking about it?

Philip: Okay. It's just I know belle was supposed to destroy it. I just wasn't sure.

Chloe: Well, she promised she would as soon as she got home. Anyway, it doesn't matter, because not only do I not want to talk about it, I don't want to see it, okay? I trust you, Philip, so can we please never mention it again?

Philip: You know what? You're right. It's a total waste of our time and energy. So in the interest of moving on to something more positive... At the beginning of the day, I wasn't sure I'd ever get the chance to give it to you.

Chloe: It's for me?

Philip: I guess we were meant to run into each other. Open it up. Sorry about the wrapping.

Chloe: Oh, my God, Philip. It's beautiful. It's our tree.

Philip: Yeah, yeah. I even got our initials engraved into it like we did at the riverbank. You like it?

Chloe: How -- how could I not like it? But I-I'm sorry. I can't accept this.

Philip: Why not?

Chloe: It's too much.

Philip: Friends can't give friends gifts?

Chloe: Not yet.

Philip: Not yet? Okay, not yet. Okay.

Mimi: Belle has the video, and she's getting rid of it.

Cynthia: Does she think she's doing Chloe a favor? And who is she to interfere? Miss Goody 2-Shoes Belle Black.

Mimi: She's just doing what she was asked to. Apparently, Chloe forgives Philip for whatever dumb thing he did with you. I guess it's not so hard for her to believe that he doesn't care about you at all.

Luther Vandross: Yeah yeah

Lexie: So... how about dessert? I made peach cobbler.

Abe: Oh.

Lexie: Ha ha ha. And -- ahem -- I have a present for you, too.

Abe: Well.

Lexie: Ha ha. Happy Anniversary, honey.

Abe: Thank you. Ah, let's see.

Lexie: Time marches on, but some things never change.

Lexie: Don't ever think about losing him.

Abe: Lexie --

Lexie: Honey, listen, you have taken 1,000 pictures of Isaac since the day he was brought home, but lately you've just stopped. You're distancing yourself. You're pulling away from him, just like you're doing with me.

Lexie: This is so you'll have him with you always.

Abe: He will be. Even though he may not be in the house, always.

Lexie: Would you stop acting like it's already happened? You don't know that we're losing Isaac. I know that we're not.

Hope: Hey. I know it's a lot to ask you to be so strong, but J.T. needs his big brother right now.

Shawn-D: Strong does not mean giving up.

Bo: You know what? I think it's time we talk a little bit about being a parent, because you don't really know and you're about to become one. Yes, it's sleepless nights, high fevers, and emergency rooms, but it's also listening to your son say things to you that make you feel bad, but you pay attention 'cause you want to make him feel better. We want to do that. We want to make this better, but we can't. Being a parent also means figuring out when to step in and do something and when to leave it alone, even though every part of you doesn't want to. That's when you got to be strong, and your strength comes from love. And we have enough love in this family to make it through this. I know maybe you don't feel that right now, but I also know we can make it through this.

Belle: You're not going to mess up my life, Jan. I won't let you. Don't you think it's pretty pathetic that you had to get yourself pregnant on purpose because that's the only way you could get any attention from a guy who's not a jerk?

Jan: Shut up.

Belle: I know Shawn didn't want to sleep with you. He doesn't want to trash the mother of his baby by telling me how you made it happen, but obviously, your whole goal was to ruin his life. Why else would you be flaunting it in my face that you're all fat and pregnant? Come on, Jan. You've never even babysat. You don't want this poor kid. But it doesn't matter that Shawn's not going to be able to go to college or pursue his dreams. Do you think he won't resent that? He still loves me, Jan. He told me. You can make him sleep with you, but you can never make him love you.

Jan: Go to hell! Aah!

Belle: Are you okay?

Jan: Get away from me!

Belle: Jan. Do you want me to call you a doctor or something?

Jan: Why? You want something bad to happen, don't you?

Belle: No!

Jan: I know you don't want me to have this baby, but I'm going to, and there is nothing you can do about it. Get out!

Belle: My pleasure.

Jan: I don't believe you love that witch, Shawn. You are way too nice for her. If she thinks she's going to get you back after this baby's born, she's so wrong. Oh, no. It's going to be you and me, my darling -- Mr. and Mrs. Shawn Brady.

Philip: So... If I can't give you things, does it also mean I can't ask you out? I mean in a friendly way, say, to a movie. There's a ton of stuff I want to see.

Chloe: I imagine that we're banned from the theater for life after last time.

Philip: Okay, yeah, a movie was a dumb idea. It's bringing up bad vibes. But while we're on the subject, I really didn't plan on seeing you that night, Chloe. I didn't plan on running into you while I was with Cynthia.

Chloe: Right, just like you didn't plan on going home with her and --

Philip: I didn't plan, no, and, look, I stopped. We did not have sex. I stopped because I wanted my first time to be with someone that I love. I wanted it to be with you. I was thinking about you the whole time.

Chloe: Philip.

Philip: I just mean that you're the only one I ever want to make love to, Chloe... ever.

Shawn-D: I'm trying really hard not to be mad at you 'cause I know you don't need to deal with that, and it's not your fault. But I don't understand how you can say it's going to be okay. It's never going to be okay.

Bo: Shawn.

Shawn-D: Look, I have to get out of here.

Hope: Please don't go. Don't go, Shawn.

Shawn-D: I can't do this, Mom. I can't stand by and watch you and dad just give away my little brother. I can't be any part of it. [Door opens] [Door closes]

Hope: No, thanks. You know, maybe Shawn's right. I-I want Isaac with us so badly, but, I mean, maybe -- maybe we shouldn't be dividing our resources right now.

Bo: Hope, the thing is, is there's never going to be a right or easy time for this. Isaac is your son. He needs to be with you now.

Hope: I know.

Alice: Hope, what's the matter?

Bo: Come here. Come here, sit down. What happened?

[Knock on door]

Belle: Caprice!

Caprice: Belle-Chéri.

Belle: Oh, my God, it is so good to see you.

Caprice: And you -- look at you. Who said you could grow up without me?

Belle: It's not because I wanted to. Trust me. Come in.

Caprice: I remember well those tiny feet kicking her chair in the airport lounge as I was leaving, and I thought, "I have not done this child justice as her nanny if she will behave this way."

Belle: Oh, Brady was worse.

Caprice: Wasn't he always?

Belle: Yes. Oh, every time a plane went overhead for months afterwards, Brady and I would ask our parents, "is that Caprice? Is she coming back? She promised she'd come back."

Caprice: And I have.

Belle: I just didn't think it would be so long.

Caprice: Nor did I.

Belle: I'm really glad you're staying with us.

Caprice: Your family has always been very kind to me.

Belle: You have been to us. You're staying for good, I hope?

Caprice: One never knows what life will bring. We will see. Qu'est-ce que c'est?

Belle: Oh, it's nothing.

Caprice: Nothing? Well, you are too big for me to mother you. I will only mention to keep it clean.

Belle: Thank you. I love you, Caprice.

Caprice: And I you. You will always be my Belle-Chéri.

Belle: You have no idea how happy I am that you're here. It makes me feel so much better.

Caprice: Why? What troubles you, child?

Chloe: Well, that's a lot to live up to. The only person you want to be with ever? What if you're not the only person I want to be with ever?

Philip: Oh, come on, Chloe. I know we're a long way from all of that. Look, I just want to take you out, okay? Just hang out with you some night. Okay, it doesn't have to be at night. It doesn't have to be a date date. We could just hang out some afternoon -- no big deal.

Chloe: Okay, low pressure. Not movies, not dinner. That leaves us with... bowling?

Philip: That's what you want to do?

Chloe: Yeah, sometime.

Philip: Okay. Bowling it is, then. Sounds like fun.

Cynthia: What am I standing here talking to you for? I have a life.

Mimi: Yeah, right. Hey, Shawn. Where's the fire?

Shawn-D: I got someplace to go, all right? Something I have to take care of.

Mimi: What is it? What's the matter?

Hope: I'm fine. It's just... God, it's everything. Shawn --

Bo: You know what? I'll go find him.

Hope: That'd make me feel a lot better.

Bo: Don't worry. It'll be all right. Thanks, Mrs. H.

Hope: All right, huh? How can it be?

Chloe: Have you ever even bowled?

Philip: No, not much, but I'm very athletic, so how bad can I be?

Chloe: Ha ha. Awfully confident, but that's the Philip that I know and love.

Philip: Hey, yeah. I got to earn it. I understand. So do you want to pick a date for bowling? Spring break is almost over, and, uh...

Chloe: I-I really do. Um, I want to, okay? But right now, I'm just really tired.

Philip: Yeah, okay. I understand. The most important thing is for you to get better. I'm really worried about you.

Chloe: Don't be. I'm feeling better already.

Mimi: What's put you in such a foul mood, huh?

Shawn-D: Not now.

Mimi: Something to do with Jan, I'm sure.

Shawn-D: No, no, nothing to do with her, and damn it, why won't anyone give her a break?

Mimi: Give me one reason why I should.

Belle: I used to tell you everything, didn't I? Every single thing at Mimi whispered into my ear.

Caprice: Well, my Belle-Chéri, you're grown enough to know that some things are best held quietly in your own heart, but if you ever have a notion to share --

Belle: Thank you. You know, you're staying in our house. You are a guest. I should be helping you out. Is there anything you need -- towels, soap, lunch?

Caprice: No. No, no, dear. I will just get back to unpacking.

Belle: Okay.

Belle: Ready?

Shawn-D: Ready.

Shawn-D: He's telling you the truth, Belle. I do love you.

Belle: Shawn... I love you, too.

Belle: The truth... how could you be with Jan if you loved me?

Jan: [Gasps] Aah!

Alice: I'll bet he's having sweet dreams, and that's a testament to you. He has no idea that anything's wrong.

Hope: I still have hope I won't have to give him up, Gran, but if today was the worst day, then --

Alice: No, no, no. Don't wish away your time with him, dear. Now more than ever, you have to live in the present, and, yes, the future holds pain, but remember, hold on to the joy.

Hope: Well, my joy is at the expense of two other parents who have been my friends, who love Isaac and adore him...

Alice: Hope, Isaac is your child. Do you really feel there's a choice?

Lexie: Hey, sweetheart. Did you have sweet dreams?

Isaac: The book.

Lexie: Oh, really?

Isaac: The book.

Lexie: Oh, I see. [Doorbell rings]

Isaac: Book.

Lexie: Mm.

Isaac: The book.

Lexie: Every day, I think I couldn't love him any more, and then...

Abe: I know.

Lexie: Yeah, sweetheart.

Abe: Did you lose your book, huh? Did you lose your book?

Lexie: Not yet, sweetie. Not yet, sweetie. Not yet, sweetie.

Abe: Yeah.

Isaac: What's that?

Man: Commander Abraham Carver, Dr. Alexandra Carver?

Abe: Yes.

Isaac: What's that?

Lexie: Yeah.

Isaac: Book.

Lexie: What?

Abe: Hope is suing for custody of Isaac.

Philip: Are you really feeling better?

Chloe: Is that another way of saying I look bad?

Philip: Hey, you can't blame me for being concerned. You fainted on me, remember?

Chloe: Maybe it was a swoon.

Philip: Ha ha. You, a swoon? Ha ha. Chloe, I just want us to be honest with each other, say what we're feeling, always. I know we have a lot of work to do, and I know we're about to graduate. I mean, were all so busy, but I think it's worth a try, and I hope you do, too.

Philip: You're cold.

Chloe: Cold hands, cold heart. There's a new one.

Philip: Who are you kidding, Chloe? Not me. Not you, either.

Cynthia: [Thinking] No. This won't do. Belle Black, what are you protecting Philip for? He needs to learn his lesson.

Shawn-D: I've got to go.

Mimi: You know, all right, fine, push all your friends away. Meanwhile, Jan's no friend, but you sleep with her. Shawn, you could be losing your brother. Listen, there are a lot of people who love you, even though we love Belle, too, and I do blame you, but I blame Jan so much more. She's got you spending all your time with her just when you need us the most. Don't let her be the one to comfort you, Shawn, or the next thing you know, you're going to be married.

Shawn-D: Mimi... I know what I'm doing, okay?

Mimi: No, you don't, Shawn.

Belle: [Sighs] I can't sit around here and be depressed all day. Oh, Brady remembered to tape my "Friends" episode. Oh! This is not going well. [Gasps] Oh, my God.

Bo: Shawn, are you -- Jan? Jan. Jan, can you hear me? Jan?
