Days of Our Lives Transcript Thursday 4/4/02 Provided By Suzanne Greta: Ooh. Come on... Princess needs a new pair of shoes. Oh! Greta: Ahh! Jack: Something else is going on here. I can smell it. You know I have the nose for news. Jennifer: Well, then go sniff around somewhere else, because I need to get dressed and I would like to do it alone. So would you please leave? Jack: I was born to be a journalist, and this is the story of my life, so don't expect me to give up without a fight. Jennifer: Well, maybe we are yesterday's news, Jack. Maybe it's time for you to find another story. Man: What can I get for you, sir? Colin: Scotch. And make it a double. "Colin, I heard everything. I know you don't love me, that everything you said was a lie. I have no idea why you would use me so cruelly, and I don't want to know. I'm just glad I found out now before it was too late. Don't try to contact me. I want nothing to do with you ever again. Elizabeth." Colin: Do it again. Austin: I guess it is, uh, human nature to want to know where the bodies are buried, you know, but Marlena's right. What happened between me and Sami is, uh, well, private. And I know that some of you are going to be disappointed because you can't wait to throw stones. But as far as I'm concerned, none of us live in glass houses. So, well, just... think of it like that. But whatever any of you say or do to Sami from here on out, I don't want to know about it, I don't want to hear about it. I'm not marrying Sami today or any day, and I don't care if I ever hear the name Sami Brady again. So... That's all, folks. Sami: Austin! Austin, please, please don't go! Austin, please! Oh, Austin, please don't leave me! Please don't go! Oh, Austin! Austin! Austin! Austin, please! Please, Austin! Please come back to me! Please! Austin! Austin! Nicole: Austin... Sami: Austin, please come back to me! Austin, please! Please! Marlena: It's going to be all right. Sami: It's never going to be okay again! Marlena: I've got you. Roman: Where's Will? Caroline: Oh, Shawn took him to another room. You know, Belle was very upset, of course, and she ran out before we could stop her, but John and Philip are looking for her. Roman: All right, Mom. Do me a favor, okay? Caroline: Name it. Roman: I think Will needs both his grandparents right now. Caroline: Oh, darling, you read my mind. Jennifer: Oh, my gosh. This is just so surreal. Poor Sami -- she doesn't have very good luck when it comes to weddings, does she? Marlena: Come on. Roman? Roman: Come on, honey. Marlena: Come on, we've got you. It's all right. You're going to be just fine. Come on. Honey, we've got you. Sami: Oh, you did this, didn't you? You did this to me, Kate, and I will get you for this! I will get you if it's the last thing I do! I will! You are going to pay for this, Kate! After everything you've done to me, I'm never going to let you get away with it... Jennifer: Brandon, if you want to go after Sami, it's okay. I understand. Lucas: Come on, where the hell is that damn tape? Roman: Lucas! What the hell are you doing? Victor: What's going on? Why did Austin run off like that? Nicole: The wedding's off. Victor: Who stopped it? Nicole: Austin. He's finally seen Sami for who she really is. Victor: Damn it. Nicole: What's the problem? Why do you care whether Sami marries Austin? Victor: I don't. Actually, I'm much more concerned about your wedding plans. Nicole: What are you talking about? Victor: I see you're wearing my engagement ring, this time on your left hand. Does that mean you've accepted my proposal? Austin: If you're here to gloat, to tell me you told me so, don't. If you want to know why I'm not marrying Sami, too bad. It's none of your damn business. Kate: I'm not here for any of those things. I'm here because I want to tell you how sorry I am for everything you've had to go through. Austin: I just want to get the hell out of here. Kate: You're leaving? Austin: Is there any reason why I should stay? Kate: No. All I ever wanted was to see you happy. Austin: I should've listened to you. Kate: I understand why you couldn't. You always wanted to see the best in people, and you always tried to do the right thing. And that's why I'm so proud of you. I hope you know that. Kate: My sweet boy. I love you. I love you. Kate: Is there anything I can do? Is there anything I can do to help? Austin: Yeah. You know what you can do for me? You can tell Lucas not to worry, all right? I am going to make sure that he's going to be part of Will's life. Kate: I don't understand. Austin: Trust me. Now... I have to... talk to Will. Kate: Okay. You wait here, and I'll get him for you. Austin: Oh, boy. How am I going to tell Will? My God. How? Roman: Lucas, you better be talking to me. What the hell are you doing here and why'd you trash the room like this? Lucas: I didn't. It was like this when I came in. I was just looking for Will. Roman: Under the couch? Lucas: No, of course not. Sami: You are never going to see your son again. Austin and I are getting married, we are moving to Hawaii, and you are never going to get your hands on my little boy again! Lucas: Sami, I told you earlier, we should get along for Will's sake. Sami: You and your mom have been out to get me since day one! Lucas: Roman, maybe you should take her to her room so she can get some rest. Roman: Lucas, get out of here! Just get the hell out! Sami: Do you hear what I'm saying? You're never going to get away with it! Lucas: I'm sorry, Sami. I'm sorry. Sami: You are never going to get away with this, Lucas! Lucas: We already have. You're the one who's going to pay, Sami. Jennifer: Look, Brandon, I think that you can help Sami. Why don't you go and be with her? Brandon: No. I mean, that was my first impulse, but...I'm not going to be anyone's consolation prize. Jennifer: Well, Brandon, I understand that, but still, you are Sami's friend. Brandon: We're only friends because she didn't want us to be more, like with you and Colin. Jennifer: Could we please not make that analogy? Brandon: Well, there are similarities between you and him, me and Samantha. You admitted that before. Jennifer: Yes, you're right, Brandon, I did. Brandon: So then you can relate to how I'm feeling. I mean, if Colin's fiancé were to dump him at the altar, would you go running after him? Man: Yes! All right! Woman: Whoo! Whoa, you are hot tonight. Colin: The same could be said for you. Greta: Hey, Colin. Colin: Good evening, princess. Greta: Something looks -- oh, you shaved. Colin: I decided to make a clean start. Greta: Well, it looks great. So, do you want me to kiss your dice again? I mean, I can give you some... Jack: Ahem! Greta: Luck! I meant "luck." I can give you some luck. Colin: Um... Shooter passes. Greta: I'm sorry. I-I hope I didn't distract you. Colin: Not at all. You're a welcome distraction. Greta: So, uh, where is your fiancé Elizabeth? Um... She's not here? I tell you what, if I had a good-looking guy like you with me in Vegas, I wouldn't leave his side. But then again, you know, I'm me, and she's, well, yours. And she must be pretty secure, unlike me. But then again, I mean, why wouldn't she be? You know, you two are getting married tonight. Jack: [Thinking] So that's what Jennifer was so upset about. [Knock on door] Austin: Hey. Caroline: Austin, your mother said that, uh, you wanted to see this little fella. Austin: Oh, you bet I do. Hello, big guy. Caroline: Ha ha ha. Will: When is the wedding going to start? Austin: Hmm. Well, I'm not going to be marrying your mother. Will: What? Austin: Your mom and I -- we've cancelled the wedding. I know this is really hard for you. I'm really sorry. Will: We're not going to be a family, are we? Nicole: The ring. I got it out of the vault to see how it would feel, and... Victor: And what? Whatever you're thinking, say it. Fine. Let me try. You were going to marry me because you figured, why not, Austin is marrying Sami. But then he changed his mind, and now you're not so sure. Well, I won't be anyone's second choice, Nicole. My proposal of marriage is hereby rescinded. Our relationship is over. Kate: Oh, sweetie. There you are. I've been looking all over the place for you. Lucas: Where's Will? Kate: Relax, it's okay. Caroline took Will to see Austin. He's leaving Las Vegas, and he wanted to say goodbye. Lucas: Oh, man, poor little guy. Kate: Yeah. Lucas: He must be so confused. Kate: Well, that's why he has his wonderful dad to help him through all of this. Lucas: No. Will being hurt, Mom, is just a downside to all this. Kate: I know, that's true. But let's focus on the positive side, don't you think? I mean, how rare is it that something goes better than you've dreamed of? I mean, and it's rarer still that it happens exactly when you need it to happen. Austin dumped Sami at the altar in front of friends, in front of family... It was positively riveting. It was -- it was heartbreaking, it was funny, it was suspenseful... It should be turned into a musical. It would make a smash Broadway hit, don't you think? Lucas: Yeah. "Les Misérables -- the sequel." Kate: Oh, and yet, the Brady family is a lot more "misérable" than anyone in that original production, let me tell you. Lucas: Well, it couldn't have happened to a nicer family. Kate: Yeah. I just can't take credit for it. I mean, I have no idea how it happened, why it happened. You do, though, don't you? Lucas: I did pay Sami a little visit before her wedding was supposed to start, yeah. Kate: Oh, come on, tell me, tell me, tell me everything. Sami: Death row wasn't enough. And everything in Italy just wasn't enough. No, they had to take from me the one thing they knew would destroy me. Marlena: Sami, why don't you try to lie down for a while? Sami: Lie down? Mom, I can't lie down. I feel like my head is about to explode. Damn them. Damn them! Damn them! Roman: Sami, Sami, please. Sami: Don't you understand, Dad? None of this would've happened if Lucas hadn't come back. You know, Austin and I were happy. We were about to get married, but, no, he had to walk back into my life. And then he feeds me this load of bull about how he wants to be my friend again, when really that was just part of his nasty plan, his evil scheme to ruin my life! Roman: What exactly did Lucas say? Sami: It doesn't matter. I have to find Austin, and I have to talk to him and make him understand what's going on. I have to get to Austin. Roman: Sami! Sami, listen to me. I'm sorry. But Austin made it very clear he wants nothing to do with you, and my gut tells me this has nothing to do with Kate and Lucas, that if anyone is to blame for what happened today, it's you. Man: Yes! Man #2: Here we go, here we go! Colin: Actually, Elizabeth has left. She's gone. Greta: What? But I thought the two of you came here to get married. I mean, tonight's supposed to be your wedding night. Colin: There isn't going to be a wedding. Elizabeth and I are history. Greta: Oh. So you're single now? Man: Hey, buddy, get your bag off the table, and if you're not a player, you're going to have to leave. Jack: Actually, I was just about to. Um, come on, Greta. It's time to get up to our room. I've got the big meeting first thing in the morning. We got to get our beauty rest. Greta: All right. Right, right, fine. Um, so I'll -- I'll see you around? Colin: I look forward to it, princess. Greta: Okay. Would you stop hitting me with that in the knee? That's the third time you've done it! Why are you carrying that briefcase around, anyway? Jack: I've got my résumés and my notes in here. I'm going over there and polishing everything for tomorrow morning. I'm nothing if not thorough. Man: Yes! All right! Woman: By the way, my name is Meg. Colin: Nice to meet you. I'M... Meg: Colin Murphy. I heard. I'm really sorry that you're going to be all alone on what should've been your wedding night. Colin: Perhaps I won't be. Man: 13 left. Greta: Come on, let's go. Jack: Good. Man: Watch where you're going, freak. Jack: Hey, who are you calling a freak? I demand an immediate apology! Man: You do, huh? Greta: Hey, Jack, come on. Just pick up your briefcase and let's go. Sorry. Jack: Certainly. Greta: Good luck, fellas. Just keep it steady. Come on, come on. Jack: The guy was talking -- Greta: No, come on. Jack: Did you see -- Greta: Come on, Jack, let's go. Jack: [Stammering] Greta: Yeah, I know, I know. I know, it's bad, it's bad. Jennifer: Phew. That was close. Jack is the last person I want to run into tonight. Brandon: Anyone else you're trying to avoid? Man: Yes! All right! Lucas: I went to Sami because I wanted to make peace with her. I didn't care whether she married Austin or not. I just wanted her to agree to joint custody of Will. But no. No, she laughed in my face. She told me she was going to take my son away from me and I'd never see him again, and I knew she meant it. Kate: So what did you do? Lucas: Well, I know from experience that the only way to beat Sami is to play as dirty as she does. So as soon as I realized she wasn't going to listen to me, I just, uh, turned on the mini tape recorder I had in my pocket. Kate: No! Lucas: Oh, yes, and guess what. Guess what. Kate: What? Lucas: I got to her admit -- I got her to admit that I never hit Will, ever. Kate: Oh, my God. Is it too late to have you nominated for the Oscar? Lucas: Whoa, Mom, wait, I was going to show it to Austin, but you know what? I didn't have to. Austin walked in right when she confessed. The rest, they say, is history. Kate: And so is Sami! Oh, my clever boy. But enough gushing. Enough gushing. I have to hear every single word on that tape. Where is it? Lucas: Hmm. That's what I'd like to know. Sami: Haven't I been hurt enough? My own Dad's trying to tell me it's my fault for ruining my life. Roman: Think about it, Sami. Sami: All I want to do is share my life with the man that I love, and I got creamed for it, publicly humiliated, brought to my knees. But, gee, Dad, thanks for making me feel a whole lot better by telling me it's my own damn fault. Roman: Sami, the last thing I want to do is add to your pain, but it's obvious from what Austin said in the chapel that something happened between you two. Marlena: Honey, Austin is a fair and honest man. We must assume that you did something that made him upset, something that made him not want to marry you. Sami: Great, Mom. Thanks for taking his side. It really warms my heart. Marlena: What do you expect? Sami: I expected unconditional love! Isn't that what you're supposed to get from your parents? Roman: Sami, we love you. We always will. That's not what this is about. Sami: Then what is it about, you trying to rub my nose in my big downfall? Marlena: No, nobody's doing that. Sami: It feels like you're interrogating me like I'm some sort of criminal. Well, this is not my fault. It's not -- none of it! All I did was love a man with all my heart and soul, and all I wanted to do was make him happy. Mom... Mommy, why is this happening to me? Roman: All right, let's take you upstairs, get you some rest. We'll talk about this tomorrow. [Kicks object] Sami: [Sobbing] Roman: What's this? Austin: Not a family? Mm, well... I may not be your stepdad, but I'm always going to be your super-uncle. And you're always going to be not just my nephew, but my best buddy in the world, right? I mean, you are my best buddy, right? I thought so. Whew. And you know what, Will? I'm going to be pretty busy, so I might not see you for a while, but I'm going to call you, and we are going to talk all the time, okay? But in the meantime, your, uh, your mommy and your daddy love you so much. They're going to be there for you, they're going to take care of you. You have no idea how many people love you. I mean, your grandmother here, she loves you so much. You want to know why? Because you're great, and you're precious to us. Caroline: So, Will, huh, what do you say we go and look for grandpa and get a little snack, huh? Will: I'm not going to leave Uncle Austin. Austin: Oh, man! You don't have to worry about me. You know? I got to go anyway, you know? You know, I think you should go with grandma. Sounds like a good idea. Okay? Caroline: Austin, I -- I'm sorry for what happened. And I just want you to know, if you ever need anything or, you know, just want to come by the pub and have a burger or... Clam chowder or something, please do. Just... You take care of yourself. Austin: Yeah. Okay. Caroline: Okay, handsome. Will: Bye, Uncle Austin. I love you. Austin: I love you, too. Lucas: I'm pretty sure that's when the tape fell out of my pocket -- when she attacked me. Kate: Well, didn't you feel it? Lucas: No, I didn't feel it. She was pounding on me, Mom. All I could focus on right then was trying not to be terminated. Now, believe me, there's some good news out of this, because I think when the tape fell out of my pocket, it was still recording. So Sami and Austin's fight's on it. Kate: Oh, be still, my heart. Lucas: Yeah. Kate: Oh, that tape could be all the ammunition we need to get Sami out of our lives forever. Lucas: That's right, but there's some bad news as well. Kate: Oh, Lucas, what? Lucas: After Austin dumped her, she lost it. She tore up the room. Now, I tried to go in there and find the tape, but before I could, Sami came back in with Roman and Marlena. She was crying her tokhes off. Kate: Oh, great. What if they find it first? You have to get in there and you have to find it! Lucas: I know. Kate: And go now! Lucas: Man. Roman: Cell phone. Sami: Oh, um, I guess it's mine. I called Eric earlier and dropped it. Marlena: Threw it? Sami: Yeah, whatever. Roman: Listen, I think it's going to be real hard for her to go back to the bridal room. Why don't we take her up to my suite? Marlena: All righty. We'll meet you up there. Roman: Okay. Marlena: Let's get you in bed. What do you say? Lucas: It's about damn time. Jack: Mm-hmm. Greta: The lights. Greta: [Laughs] Is this the room that Wentworth booked for us? Jack: Lovely, isn't it? Greta: What's lovely about it, Jack? All it is is one big bed. Jack: Well, considering we spend a third of our lives sleeping, it's terribly -- Greta: Jack, forget it. I am going to go get my own room. Jack: Princess, no. Please, please, please. Oliver booked us this cozy little room because he thinks we're a couple. Greta: Okay, then you tell Mr. Wentworth that you snore like an elephant, and whenever we finish doing whatever it is we do in this lovely little bed, that I go back to my cozy little room for a little peace and quiet. Jack: Greta, no, no. Greta: This is just too weird, Jack. Jack: Okay, I'll tell you what. I'll stay on my side of the bed. You won't even know I'm there. Greta: Oh, like that will make all the difference. Jack: Well, uh, how about if I give you an engagement ring? Greta: Don't tease me. Jack: Who's teasing? This is not only a ring, it's the ring to end all rings. Have you ever? Greta: No, of course I have never. No one has ever -- where did you get this, a gumball machine? Jack: In the hotel gift shop. That's the finest cubic zirconium money can buy -- nearly 8 bucks a carat. Hey, you can wear that here. We're in Vegas. No one will know the difference. Greta: Whoo-hoo! So tell me, did they have one that came with a light and batteries? Jack: I can always sleep in the chair. Greta: It doesn't look that comfortable. Jack: It's not, I'm sure. I'll tell you what. I'll keep my clothes on, I'll stay on top of the covers, and you'll be perfectly safe. Greta: Mm, like you have to remind me. Jack: I -- of course I don't have to remind you. I, uh...But fine. If everything's settled, then why don't you just put on your jammies? Greta: Jack, I'm going to ask you something, and, um, well, it might make me sound pathetic, but then again, you're used to me sounding pathetic, so -- Jack: Princess, you never sound pathetic to me. Greta: Okay then, um... Colin Murphy. Jack: Nope, nope. Don't like the guy. Just something about him I can't put my finger on. Greta: I'm not asking you whether you like the guy or not. I'm asking you whether you think I have a chance with him now that he's disengaged. Jack: Disengaged? Greta: Yep. He and that snooty little girlfriend of his, they called it off, and I think it was a little bit more than "he said tomato, she said tom-ah-to," if you know what I mean. Jack: Yes, yes, I get your drift, but why would you want to have a chance with a creepy little doctor with no sense of humor whatsoever? Greta: Why would you say that? You don't even know the guy. Jack: Well, his demeanor is singularly unfunny. It's all that smirking. "Colin Murphy's the name. I'm a doctor, and you're not." Greta: He doesn't sound anything like that. Jack: Well, I'd be extremely cautious if I were you. Greta: Oh. Okay, um, I get it. You're, um, you're attracted to him. Jack: What?! Oh, no! I -- no! Greta: Yes, that's the reason you're touting me off of him! Okay, okay, you know what? I won't say another word, because I don't want to get you all hot and bothered. [Laughs] Jack: Hot? Over Colin Murphy? [Thinking] If -- if -- it was Colin's wedding that was bothering Jennifer, then how will she react when she finds out he's disengaged? Victor: If she thinks she can play games, tease me and get away with it, she really doesn't know me very well, does she? Man: What can I get for you, pretty lady? Nicole: Just a water, please. Brandon: Don't sell out. You're worth way more than that. If Austin Reed is the man that can make you happy, then go for it. Brandon: Hey, there's Nicky. Would you mind if I went over and see how she's doing? Jennifer: No, not at all. In fact, I'm going to try my luck with the slots again. Brandon: Okay, I'll be right back. Jennifer: Okay. Man: All right! [Cheering] Woman: Yeah! All right! Nicole: So, now that Austin's had the good sense to dump Sami, you're not going to go running after her, are you? Brandon: No, no. Not going to happen. Nicole: That's a relief. Brandon: You? Nicole: What about me? Brandon: Well, Austin's free now. Nicole: Yeah, free but miserable. The guy's falling apart. Brandon: And who better to put him back together again? It's time to make your move, Nicky. Lucas: Come on already. Great. Roman: Hi. Can I help you? Man: I'm the hotel manager. I was told there was a problem with the wedding. Whoa! What happened here? Roman: Listen, uh, hang on, okay? Uh, why don't you take Sami up to my room? I'll deal with this, meet you up there. Marlena: All right. Sami: Thanks, Dad. Roman: [Sighs] I apologize. My daughter got a little upset when the wedding was called off. I hope this covers it. If there's any major damage, put it on my bill. Man: Very well, sir. I'll arrange for a cleaning crew. Roman: Okay, thank you. Uh, thanks again, and be sure and let me know. Lucas: Good evening. Jack: [Sighs] Greta: [Giggling] Greta: Oh, Colin. No one's ever made me feel like this before. Colin: I'm very special, aren't I? Greta: You have a real gift. Colin: Many women have told me that, but I never get tired of hearing it. Greta: Mmm... [Giggling and moaning] Greta: Are you ready for round two? Jack: Distraction. I need a distraction. I know, I know... [Yawning] I know. [Panting] Jack: I'll go over the résumé. Yes. Man: Show me the money, Chauncy. Chauncy: Sure thing, boss. Man: What the hell? It's a bunch of résumés of some guy named Jack Dev-Rox. Chauncy: Must be that freak that bumped into me before. Man: Well, if he's got our do-re-mi, he's going to be DOA. Jennifer: Colin? Man: And she wins again! Nicole: Austin and I, in spite of what you think, are friends, co-workers. Brandon: Come on, Nicky, who are you talking to? Nicole: Look, Brandon, look, look, it's been a long night. Right now, all I want to do is go up to bed. I'll see you tomorrow, okay? Good night. Brandon: Good night. I know you want him, Nicky. Nothing's stopping you now. Victor: Get back to me as soon as possible. I need you to eliminate a problem with your usual efficiency and discretion. Lucas: Mom! Kate: What are you doing? Lucas: What do you think I'm doing? I'm trying to get in there to find the freakin' tape! Kate: So, what are you waiting for? Lucas: Hold on, all right? Just let me recover from the heart attack you just gave me. Oh, no, it's locked. It's locked. What are we going to do now? Kate: Not to worry. Mother always has a backup plan. Marlena: Sleep is the best thing for her right now. Roman: Yeah. We should talk. Let's go someplace we don't disturb her. Nicole: So, you're leaving. Austin: Yeah. I'm leaving Sami... But I'm not leaving you. |
