Kate: So I guess you don’t care that I have a deal for you.
Nicole: Oh, you about to offer me another $5 million to do your dirty work for you?
Kate: No. This one is mutually beneficial, if not as lucrative.
Nicole: Get out of my face!
Kate: Come on, come on, the next round’s on me. You just listen and learn.
Victor: I'm in love with Nicole, and I'm going to ask her to marry me.
Philip: What?
Victor: Surely you must've known or suspected my feelings for Nicole.
Philip: Dad, you could've leveled with me all those months she was living in our house.
Victor: I didn’t realize it myself then.
Philip: Well, don’t expect me to toast the bridegroom.
Victor: Just wait a minute. You're not going anywhere until we have this out. I know you're angry, but we have to get past this before Nicole becomes my wife.
Sami: You are so deluded. I do not need you, Shawn. My life doesn’t revolve around you. And right -- right now, I can’t even look at you.
[Doorbell rings]
Belle: Chloe.
Chloe: I'm glad you're here. I need your help.
Belle: With what?
Chloe: This! I don’t know what to do about it, and I don’t have much time to decide. Philip could be calling me any minute.
Belle: I never saw you as a coward, but I do now. A coward and a liar. No, never mind. I'm not going to stoop to name-calling. I'm just going to say goodbye. It’s over.
Bo: Hey. Where you been?
Shawn D.: The park.
Bo: Talk to me.
Shawn D.: I've made a mess of everything. There’s just no way I can make it right.
Sami: I think it’s a tossup.
Austin: What is?
Sami: Whether your eyes or your mouth turn me on more.
Austin: Or maybe this will.
Sami: Decisions, decisions.
Austin: Ha ha ha! Ha ha ha ha! Yeah, this is the best part about arguing.
Sami: Do you mean to say that you made love to me just to end the argument?
Austin: No. To win the argument.
Sami: [Gasps] Never! I got you!
Austin: Ha ha ha! No, stop. Okay, I'll confess. I'll confess.
Sami: Confess? What are you talking about? What did you do?
Austin: Yeah, yeah, okay. Uh, something I did behind your back.
Sami: Whatever it is, Austin, don’t tell me. I don’t want to know.
Austin: No. This can’t wait. Um, a very, very wise person told me to level with you ASAP.
Sami: You've been talking to someone about me? Not Nicole, I hope.
Austin: No, no, not Nicole.
Sami: Kate?
Austin: You know me better than that.
Sami: Well, I don’t like the idea of some stranger knowing more about us than I do.
Austin: Well, it’s not exactly a stranger. Your dad.
Sami: You went and talked to my dad about me? That is so sweet.
Austin: Wow, I'm making some points here.
Sami: Ha ha ha! Austin, shut up and kiss me.
Man: A fresh round, ladies.
Nicole: Thanks.
Kate: Thank you.
Nicole: Whatever game you're playing, count me out.
Kate: I hate to drink alone.
Nicole: Well, then work the room. Some guy will be desperate enough to hang out with you for free booze.
Kate: Ah, come on, Nicole. A toast to our common enemy.
Nicole: Sami is your problem, not mine.
Kate: If she has her way with Victor, it’s going to affect you as well as me.
Nicole: Oh, I knew it. Victor is after Austin because of something Sami’s done, right?
Kate: Right.
Nicole: And this deal of yours -- I take it you're out to crash Sami’s plans?
Kate: With your help. I figure since Victor threw you out, you are a free agent now.
Nicole: Temporarily.
Kate: Oh, nice try. But I do know Victor. Do you really think a nobody like you could take my place in his life?
Nicole: Oh, honey, I have made my own place, professionally and privately.
Kate: You know, I do have to hand it to you. For a kid with little or no education and a convicted felon for a dad, you really have done pretty well. I mean, you slept your way into a career at Titan and the lifestyle that goes with it, all from Victor’s bed. And you know something? On a good day, you almost look like a lady.
Nicole: In stark contrast to you.
Kate: I'm sure you must realize by now that fortune doesn’t smile on the mistresses of wealthy men forever.
Nicole: Or ex-mistresses, for that matter. Victor threw you out with only the clothes on your back, if I'm not mistaken.
Kate: In case you haven’t noticed, you're the one out of favor with Victor now.
Nicole: Oh, trust me, I will never end up in pink polyester, sweating over a grill in some hash house the way you did.
Kate: Yes, yes, that’s very true... thanks to me. It’s amazing how you've hung on to that $5 million I gave you.
Nicole: $10 million wouldn’t have been enough compensation for marrying nasty boy Lucas.
Kate: Oh, Nicole, it’s the easiest money you ever made.
Nicole: You know what? Enough reminiscing about the good old days, Kate, okay? What is going on in that devious mind of yours, huh? Murder, yeah, I know. But whose?
Philip: I left Chloe tonight because you made it sound like there was some big emergency.
Victor: I wanted you to know first. I didn’t want you hearing it from someone else.
Philip: Why be straight with me now? You've never been honest with me about Nicole before.
Victor: 'Cause I didn’t want to hurt you. Look, all you wanted was for your mother to move back into the house and for us to be a family.
Philip: We are a family.
Victor: That’s true, but your mother and I no longer love each other. We're not even compatible, and she’s never going to live in the house again. We're never going to live together, Philip.
Philip: Chloe’s waiting for me.
Victor: Not until we work this out.
Philip: What is there to work out, huh? Obviously, you've already made up your mind, so do what you want. I'll stay out of your love life, you stay out of mine.
Chloe: Just when I think that things with Philip are over, he’s back in my life and pressuring me to get closer. But what’s on this video could be more than I ever imagined.
Belle: So this is the surveillance video, huh?
Chloe: You know about it?
Belle: Yeah. Uh, Mimi told me about it. You haven’t seen what’s on it yet, have you?
Chloe: No, I haven’t, and I'm not sure I want to. At least not alone. Will you watch it with me?
Belle: No. No, I can’t.
Chloe: Please. Philip is begging me not to look at it, and it has me really freaked out right now, especially after what happened tonight. Philip and I -- we were together at my house alone in my bedroom, and he was just so tender and caring. It was like the way we used to be when it was wonderful, but I'm afraid that if I see him with another girl that close, I will never feel the same way about him again.
Belle: I understand.
Chloe: Then why didn’t you tell me about the video before I got in deeper with Philip? Is there something that you're not saying? If there’s something that you know, you have to tell me, please.
Shawn D.: The last thing I want to do is come in here and lay my problems on you. You and mom have enough to deal with.
Bo: Spit it out. I want to help.
Shawn D.: I just... I still can’t believe I've gotten myself into this mess.
Bo: I know what you're saying. Something bad happens, you question everything. You wonder what you could've done differently. Do not try to go it alone.
Shawn D.: How’s mom doing?
Bo: Well, it took her a while, but she finally fell asleep, curled up on the bed with J.T. Every moment with him is precious.
Shawn D.: Did something else happen? Have the Reiber’s called again or...
Bo: No. Mickey stopped by, filled us in on some of the legal stuff.
Shawn D.: And?
Bo: And... We have a better idea what we're up against, what it’s going to take to keep J.T. If you want to talk to Mickey about your situation with Jan and the baby, I think it'd be a good idea.
Shawn D.: Dad, I know what I need to do, and it’s the right thing.
Bo: Well, doing the right thing doesn’t mean you have to ruin your life.
Shawn D.: Not just mine, other people’s, too. I just never thought it'd be so hard.
Bo: Why don’t you tell me what’s got you so upset? Maybe we can work it out together.
Shawn D.: I had to tell Belle that Jan is pregnant and I'm the father. She said that she hated me, dad. I-I love her so much, and to see her hurting, knowing that I did it to her, it’s killing me.
Shawn D.: What the hell am I doing, dad? Belle trusted me, and I-I told her that I love her, and I do, more than anything. She'll never believe that again.
Bo: The best thing you could do for her right now is level with her about everything.
Shawn D.: I have.
Bo: I don’t think so. You and Jan having sex on that island while you were falling in love with Belle? If I have trouble understanding that, it’s going to be impossible for her. It doesn’t make any damn sense.
Shawn D.: What happened to -- with Jan was terrible. A mistake, all right? But -- I can’t walk out on her now. She’s pregnant. I have to stand by her and do what’s right for the baby.
Bo: You keep saying "the baby." Not "my baby" or "our baby."
Shawn D.: Well, you know what I mean.
Bo: I know you're trying to save the life of an unborn child. I know you're trying to help out a girl who has a bad family situation, who has no one in her life, apparently, except you.
Shawn D.: Yeah. That’s just about it.
Bo: I respect the fact that you want to do the right thing, but I'm not convinced you're the father of this child.
Shawn D.: Well, th-there’s good old DNA test after the baby’s born. Then everyone will know the truth.
Bo: Yeah, right. We can wait a couple months for a DNA test or you could level with me right now.
Shawn D.: Dad, please.
Bo: You told me she was going to have an abortion, and you couldn’t live with that.
Shawn D.: Yeah, yeah. She was too far along in the pregnancy. We could see the child in the ultrasound. It was just like an unborn person inside of her.
Bo: So that’s why you're claiming to be the father of this child? So she wouldn’t have the abortion and the baby could live? Is that what’s going on here?
Belle: Chloe, I don’t know anything more about what’s on that videotape than you do.
Chloe: Then why are you so upset?
Belle: Because I have some things on my mind, okay?
Chloe: Well, if it was Shawn with another girl on this video, would you watch it?
Belle: No. No way.
Chloe: But you'd want to know.
Belle: Chloe, look. Don’t go looking for trouble, okay? If things are great between you and Philip, then... enjoy it. It’s not like he and Cynthia had sex or anything, so I would just throw the videotape out. Forget it.
Chloe: I can’t.
Belle: Look, Chloe, then figure it out with Philip, please, okay? I don’t know what to tell you.
Chloe: You know what it’s like to feel this way about a guy -- to love the way that he holds you and kisses you. I mean, if it was Shawn with another girl, wouldn’t it drive you crazy to find out about it? Just to know that you weren’t really special, not the way you thought you were.
Belle: Yes, it would bother me. I couldn’t take it.
Chloe: Belle, what is it? What did I say?
Belle: No, it’s not you, Chloe. It’s Shawn. I don’t know what I'm going to do.
Man: Another round, ladies.
Nicole: This one’s on me.
Kate: Oh. Well, I bow to your more lucrative financial situation.
Nicole: Oh. Not making the big bucks over at Basic Black, huh? What’s the matter -- losing your "how about it, babe" charm? I guess that’s what happens when you get older.
Kate: You know, do you think you could get your mind out of the gutter for just a second and listen to me?
Nicole: Sex and money is all that’s ever on your mind.
Kate: Oh, you'd be surprised.
Nicole: All right, fine. Let me have it. What do I have to do to earn my $5 million this time?
Kate: This time is for love, not for money.
Nicole: Pro bono? Okay, that is so not my thing. Well, Kate... it’s been swell.
Kate: It could be better -- much better for you.
Nicole: Yeah? How?
Kate: Marry Austin.
Sami: Austin, you better tell me what you talked to my dad about.
Austin: Um... baseball, you know, and how things are going down at the station you know, and my job, and...
Sami: Austin.
Austin: And you.
Sami: What about me?
Austin: Well, I needed some advice on some of the troubles that we've been having.
Sami: So you talked to him about going to Hawaii.
Austin: Yeah. I know how much roman loves you, and I also know that he knows how single-minded you are when you really, really want something and you go after it.
Sami: Austin, all I want is for us to be happy.
Austin: Yeah, I know that. I want that, too. But the trouble is Hawaii is not going to make me happy, and that’s why we're not going to go.
Shawn D.: I'm not claiming to be the father of this baby. I am. I'm not going to walk out on Jan now.
Bo: I'm not asking you to abandon her. She and her baby obviously need some help. I'm asking you to be honest with me.
Shawn D.: You can’t believe that I would actually do something like this, okay? But it’s done. I am responsible. Jan’s pregnant; I'm the father of the baby. That’s just the way it is.
Bo: There’s something else going on here, something you're not telling me.
Shawn D.: You think I would go through all of this, lose the girl that I love and put you and mom through hell --
Bo: Yeah, if you're protecting somebody, if you're keeping a secret you shouldn’t have agreed to keep.
Shawn D.: No, I got myself into this, okay? I'm just trying to make something good out of this horrible mess, and that’s what I'm going to do no matter what.
Belle: I'll be okay. You should go.
Chloe: I'm not leaving you like this.
Belle: Chloe, there’s nothing that you can do.
Chloe: Belle, we're friends, and I am so sorry that I was wrapped up in everything that’s going on with me. I didn’t even see you were upset. So what happened with Shawn? Is it J.T.? Is he going to lose his little brother?
Belle: It doesn’t look good.
Chloe: No wonder you're upset.
Belle: Well, there’s nothing I can do about it. What’s done is done. So let’s figure out what we're going to do about that video.
Chloe: I wish I could just throw it away and forget it.
Belle: So why don’t you just throw it away?
Chloe: I know I should trust Philip, but it’s --
Belle: Look, Chloe, the only person you can trust is yourself. I've had to learn that the hard way.
Chloe: Belle, what’s really going on with you?
Belle: Chloe, if you want Philip, then throw that tape out. If you don’t want him, then watch it. You'll be haunted by what’s on it forever.
Victor: You can’t have it both ways, Philip. You want your independence, that’s fine, but don’t expect my life to stand still.
Philip: Obviously you're moving ahead with or without me.
Victor: Philip, my feelings for Nicole don’t change my love for you. Don’t ever think that.
Philip: Maybe I want the impossible -- the perfect family. I should know by now that’s not real.
Victor: What’s real is the bond between the two of us even when we don’t see eye to eye.
Philip: Dad, any lady would be lucky to have you. You're a great guy. No one else even comes close.
Victor: Thank you.
Philip: Look, if I don’t get back to Chloe, I could be in serious trouble.
Victor: No need to explain. Go.
Philip: And good luck with Nicole.
Victor: And you with Chloe.
Philip: Thanks. I'll see you.
Victor: Chloe Lane is not good enough for you, son, and she never will be. Now... what’s it going to take to get Nicole back?
Nicole: Me, marry Austin?
Kate: As soon as possible.
Nicole: What’s with you trying to get me to the altar with one of your sons? You know, my arranged marriage with your demon seed didn’t exactly have a fairy tale ending.
Kate: Why don’t you just say yes? You know you want to.
Nicole: Me and the boy scout? What on earth makes you think that’s a match made in heaven?
Kate: Why are you being so coy? It’s obvious to everyone you are in love with Austin.
Austin: That’s it. End of discussion.
Sami: Look, this is a great time to tell me that you don’t want to go.
Austin: Well, better now than at the airport.
Sami: I'm glad you think this is funny.
Austin: Nothing about the move feels right. I told you that. Not to me, anyway.
Sami: Not to you? There are two other people involved in this, Austin.
Austin: I know that.
Sami: No, you don’t. You act like the entire world revolves around you. You only care about yourself.
Chloe: What’s really going on with you and Shawn?
Belle: I'm sorry. I just -- I need to talk to my mom.
Chloe: You can’t talk to me?
Belle: Not about this.
Chloe: Look, Belle, you always help me when I'm in trouble. I'd like to do the same for you. Did you and Shawn have a fight?
Belle: It’s over. Shawn and I are finished.
Nicole: In love? Me and Austin?
Kate: I've been watching you. I see the way you look at him.
Nicole: Oh. You know what? I thought you were nuts before when you tried to off Victor, but now I have no doubts. You are certifiable. Why would you want the daughter-in-law from hell moving into your family again?
Kate: I told you that before. Our common enemy.
Nicole: Sami?
Kate: Yes, Sami. If Sami drags Austin off to Hawaii, you're going to lose the best researcher Titan has ever had, plus your current heartthrob. So why don’t you do us both a favor? Give in to your carnal desires.
Nicole: Mm. Let’s see. What’s in it for Kate? Will reuniting with his daddy. Yes, Austin told me all about your attempts to bring Lucas back from the twilight zone.
Kate: Lucas is getting stronger and stronger each day, but his recovery does depend on Will.
Nicole: Hmm. And if Will goes bye-bye to Hawaii with Sami and Austin, Lucas just might take up permanent residence in Never Never Land.
Kate: That will never happen. I won’t let it.
Sami: I'm not going to start married life living down the hall from your drunken, abusive brother.
Austin: Sami --
Sami: And Grandma Kate stopping by day or night. And then you're making nice with them while they're trying to snatch my son away from me!
Austin: Will you calm down? This is exactly what I didn’t want to happen.
Sami: Then why are you trying to destroy our happiness?
Austin: That’s not what I'm doing. How can we be happy if I'm not?
Sami: Ah, here we go being selfish again.
Austin: I'm just trying to make this work for both of us.
Sami: Look, Austin, how is it going to work if you just won’t go?
Austin: Well, I don’t want to do it now, but who knows? I mean, maybe someday it'll make sense.
Sami: Oh, I see. Put it on the back burner until Sami forgets all about it. That’s not going to happen.
Austin: Why not? Why do you insist on doing something that I absolutely have no desire to do?
Sami: Why do you have no desire to go, Austin? That’s what I want to know. I want to know why you're so dead-set against this move.
Belle: I was a fool to trust him, and I feel like such a jerk.
Chloe: But you and Shawn are closer than any couple I know.
Belle: He was using me, and it’s over, okay?
Chloe: I'm sorry. It’s just I never dreamt you and Shawn.
Belle: I know. Neither did I. [Telephone rings]
Chloe: Aren’t you going to get that?
Belle: The machine will get it.
Chloe: What if it’s Shawn trying to reach you?
Belle: I don’t think so.
Chloe: Well, I'll find out.
Belle: No, Chloe, I'll get it. [Ring]
Belle: Hello?
Philip: Belle, hi. Hi, it’s me -- Philip. I'm actually looking for Chloe. Mrs. Wesley said she might be there.
Belle: She is. Hold on one second. It’s Philip.
Chloe: Thanks. Philip, where are you?
Philip: I'm still at my dad’s. I just wanted to tell you again how much you mean to me. I love you, and I can’t stop thinking about you.
Chloe: Is something wrong?
Philip: No, no, no. Just don’t watch that video, okay?
Chloe: Look, I don’t have time to talk about this right now. I'll call you later.
Philip: [Thinking] What if I'm too late and she’s already seen it? Seeing me and Cynthia like that. What do I do now?
Man: Enjoy, ladies. There you go.
Nicole: My horoscope says it’s not a good month for a wedding.
Kate: Don’t be a fool. You know you have the hots for Austin. You make a great team at Titan. And let’s face it. You're not really capable of real love. This is as good as it gets, so go for it. I'll help you.
Nicole: How? Tie Sami up in a closet and forge a Dear John letter until Austin and I say our "I do’s"?
Kate: If I have to.
Nicole: Okay, this is ridiculous. Austin is blotto over Sami. There is no way I can take him away from her.
Kate: So that means you'd consider it?
Austin: Yeah, walking out -- that’s a great idea. That’s going to solve a lot.
Sami: Look, you're not giving me much choice.
Austin: I already told you why I don’t want to leave, okay? You're just not listening. Yeah, I'm being selfish. I don’t want to leave my job. I am doing work that I'm good at, and I have a real future at Titan. You know, I'm finally making something of myself, and that means a hell of a lot to me, Sami.
Sami: You could have a future; you can make something of yourself in Hawaii.
Austin: It’s the same thing, okay? I'm established here in Salem. People know me. They respect me. I don’t have to prove myself all over again.
Sami: It’s not the job that’s keeping you here, is it, Austin? Admit it. It’s Nicole. That’s why you're crossing Hawaii off your list, because you just can’t tear yourself away from Nicole Walker!
Shawn D.: I'm sorry I disappointed you and mom. I don’t deserve the faith that you had in me.
Bo: Shawn, we still have faith in you.
Shawn D.: I am to blame for what I got myself into with Jan. I am the father of this baby. Our baby.
Bo: Hey, hold up. You had sex with Jan and got her pregnant?
Shawn D.: That’s the way it is. Okay, I don’t expect anyone to understand. Although I... thought maybe you would, because you agreed to be J.T.’s father in every sense of the word, even though he wasn’t your biological son.
Bo: But that’s different. In the first place, I love your mother.
Shawn D.: I know.
Bo: I stand by her no matter what.
Shawn D.: I know. Okay, that was a bad comparison.
Bo: Or maybe not -- if there’s a question in your mind about who the biological father of Jan’s baby is.
Shawn D.: No, there isn’t.
Bo: I think there is. I mean, maybe you went along with whatever she told you, but in the back of your mind, you're wondering if she slept with somebody else.
Shawn D.: No, she didn’t.
Bo: You're hiding something from me. Why?
Shawn D.: Dad, please --
Bo: Damn it, Shawn! Tell me the truth.
Chloe: Belle, whatever happened between you and Shawn, you can work it out. You two are perfect together. You've been close since you were kids. So, tell me what happened. What did he do? Please, let me help.
Belle: You're upset at the thought of what Philip almost did with Cynthia, but Shawn actually did it.
Chloe: What?
Belle: He said he loved me, and then he went and had sex with someone else, and if I wasn’t so stupid, I would have realized it months ago. All the secrets, all the time he spent with her.
Chloe: You don’t mean --
Belle: Jan. He was stringing me along, and the whole time Jan was the girl he really wanted.
Philip: [Thinking] Even if Chloe did see the video, I have to let her know how much I love her. I have to keep proving it to her.
[Dialing] [Telephone rings]
Man: Salem Place Jewelers. Mr. Tulliver speaking.
Philip: Mr. Tulliver, Philip Kiriakis.
Mr. Tulliver: Philip, always a pleasure. What can I do for you?
Philip: I need a gift for a very special lady -- a bracelet. A charm bracelet.
Mr. Tulliver: We have some lovely ones here.
Philip: Gold, okay?
Mr. Tulliver: Of course. Any particular type of charms?
Philip: Just one charm -- a tree with the initials "P.K." And "C.L." On the trunk.
Mr. Tulliver: Fine. And what price range do you have in mind?
Philip: No, I don’t care what it costs, Mr. Tulliver. Just I need this to be perfect.
Mr. Tulliver: She’s a very lucky young lady.
Philip: Nah, I'm the lucky one. I want her to know that I'll always be there for her.
Victor: Marie, call the airport. Tell my pilot to get the plane ready and to put together a flight plan for Acapulco. And, Marie, this is to be strictly a pleasure trip. [Thinking] Nicole loves luxury. I'll see that she has it... and the most romantic time of her life. I'll propose on the plane. We'll be married in Mexico, then honeymoon wherever she wants to go in the world. Nicole is never going to doubt my love for her again. Never.
Kate: If you have any feelings for Austin, you wouldn’t sit on the sidelines and watch him get more tense as Sami unspools around him. He doesn’t want her in his life. He’s marrying her because he’s devoted to Will.
Nicole: Get someone else to do your dirty work.
Kate: Oh, Nicole, you wouldn’t even be here right now if you weren’t interested. You are attracted to Austin. He’s attracted to you. There’s a sexual undercurrent between the two of you. Work it, and walk him down the aisle before Sami does. Because we all stand to lose if you don’t.
Austin: Okay, yeah, you're right, I don’t want to leave Nicole, but not for the reasons that you think, Sami.
Sami: Spare me, okay? I don’t want to hear it.
Austin: Okay, okay. It’s okay for you to be friends with Larry and Brandon, but I spend a little bit of time with Nicole, and you go totally ballistic?
Sami: She’s your boss, not your buddy.
Austin: I have learned a hell of a lot from her, Sami, and she values me and she respects my opinion in making decisions. You know, and that means a lot to kid that was beaten down and has no reason to believe in himself.
Sami: She is not your friend. She’s using you and your research to make herself look better. Can’t you see that?
Austin: No, you are wrong. She values what I do and who I am. You and will are my family. You're the woman I'm going to marry, Sami. But I got a chance to make a career for myself here, to do something. But I'll be completely honest. I'd like to do that with my friends nearby. I like to be near my family, make sure that Lucas is at least stronger. And I know that, that’s not what you want to hear.
Sami: No, it’s only my worst fears coming true.
Austin: Can’t you understand how much this means to me? Can you do that for me, please?
Sami: What if staying here isn’t what’s best for me and Will?
Austin: Will loves being around his grandparents and his friends. You know, if being this close to Lucas is that big of a problem, that’s easy. We'll move all the way across town, Sami.
Sami: Okay, Austin, I see that you're trying to make this work, and that’s what I want, too. Why don’t we compromise?
Austin: Oh, Sami --
Sami: We could try living in Hawaii for like six months, and if you don’t like living in paradise with your executive position at Titan in Honolulu, then we'll come back. You can get your old job back.
Austin: My job will be gone by then.
Sami: Nicole’s your friend. She'll hold it open for you.
Austin: Business is business.
Sami: Well, then I'll speak to Victor, make sure he holds the position available for you.
Austin: You know, I don’t want you talking to Victor anymore, okay? Since when are you such close friends?
Sami: Well, we're related by marriage, and I -- why shouldn’t I be --
Austin: No, no, no. Don’t talk to Victor about me or my career, my job, about anything anymore, okay?
Sami: Maybe we could just try Hawaii, you know, for six months, like an extended honeymoon... please?
Austin: I'll think about it.
Sami: That’s all I ask.
Sami: Hey, how about some hot chocolate?
Austin: All right, with marshmallows or without?
Sami: Marshmallows, definitely.
Austin: Okay. I'll be right back.
Sami: Six months? Yeah, right. Once we get to Hawaii, we are never coming back to Salem. Not ever.
Kate: Sami is moving up the date of the wedding. She can’t get Austin out of town fast enough. You don’t have much time to think about this.
Nicole: Ooh, kind of a shotgun wedding, huh? Is that what you have in mind for me and your firstborn son?
Kate: I'll make all of the arrangements.
Nicole: How romantic.
Kate: Save the romance for the honeymoon. I'll do everything I can to push him into your arms.
Nicole: Thanks, but no thanks.
Kate: While you're declaring your undying love, I'll be pointing out all her flaws. Maybe I could even work it so she gets caught committing some dastardly deed. Wouldn’t that be fun, hmm?
Nicole: Kate, pull in your claws. I am not playing.
Kate: Oh, come on, Nicole. I know how much you love the competition. Let’s see how you can come out on top this time. If you want him, you're going to have to work fast. Don’t be a stranger.
Nicole: Poor Austin. Having to deal with Kate and Sami. Talk about lousy karma. Maybe a rescue mission isn’t such a bad idea.
Victor: 8 karats or larger.
Mr. Tulliver: 8? We don’t have a diamond anywhere near that size.
Victor: Get one. Have it flown in from New York by courier if you have to. Snatch it off of Liz’s finger. I don’t care.
Mr. Tulliver: I'll see to it.
Victor: And to hell with the price. This is an engagement ring. Get the hope diamond if you can. This lady deserves the very best -- the very, very best.
Mr. Tulliver: I'll take care of it, and I'll deliver the ring personally.
Victor: Just be quick about it.
Chloe: Shawn had sex with Jan? No way. You can’t believe that.
Belle: He told me himself.
Chloe: What?
Belle: That’s not all. Jan’s pregnant. Shawn’s the father.
Shawn D.: Dad, I swear, Jan was a virgin before what happened on the island, okay? Things just got out of control down there, and she’s the one that got hurt.
Bo: I'm not judging her or you, but I need to know the truth so I can help you.
Shawn D.: The truth? The truth is that I am responsible for most of the bad stuff that happened down there. If I hadn’t been so determined to bring Gran’s ruby back, then Paul wouldn’t have followed us and tried to kill us --
Bo: Hold on. You're feeling guilty because Jan’s the one who shot him?
Shawn D.: Yeah, that’s part of it. And then there’s the baby. When I saw the ultrasound, all I could think about was J.T. and how hard he had to fight, just first to be born, and then to stay alive. I remember watching him having to fight for each breath, and there’s just nothing like it -- that God-given will to survive. You know, all he needed was a chance. You and mom gave him that, and that’s what I wanted for this baby. That’s the same thing -- the chance to grow up, be healthy and strong.
Bo: I understand.
Shawn D.: Just the thought of losing J.T. and this baby at the same time, I couldn’t handle that. I had to save one of them.
Bo: And you did. I just hope it’s not at too great a price.
Shawn D.: I thought I could make it work. Now I don’t know.
Bo: Slow down. You need to take it one day at a time.
Shawn D.: Yeah, and, uh, what am I going to do without Belle?
Shawn D.: Without her, there’s nothing.
