Days of Our Lives Transcript Friday 1//11/02 By Amanda Shawn D: An abortion? You can't be serious. Jan: Of course I'm serious. I was raped, remember? Shawn D: I know, but you can't just turn around and -- Jan: What, I can't just kill an innocent baby? Look, Shawn, you took biology. It's -- it's not a baby yet. It's just a bunch of cells all clumped together, and I want it out of my body as soon as possible. Shawn D: You cannot make this decision on your own. You have to talk to your parents. Jan: No. They hate me enough already. Shawn D: You're their daughter, Jan. They have to care about you. They may come down on you -- Jan: They care about themselves and what others think of them. Look, Shawn, don't try to tell me different. I've already made up my mind. They're never going to know about this. Do you understand that? Look, no one will ever know but you. Shawn D: It's not right. Jan: It's my decision, Shawn. All I'm asking is for you to be my friend. Shawn D: I am your friend. You know that. Jan: I'm going to get rid of this baby, but I can't do it here in Salem. I need you to drive me to Chicago. Will you do it? Will you come with me? Belle: You and dad and Shawn's parents -- you kept the truth from us for so long, I guess I'm just wondering -- is there anything else you're not telling us? Marlena: Like what? What do you mean? Belle: Are you and dad going to get a divorce? Marlena: No, we're not. Why would you think that? I've just told you how much in love we are. Belle: There's so much stuff that you didn't tell me, Mom, and I can't help but think -- when you were getting in all those fights with Brady, did you know about this then? Marlena: Yes, we did. Why would you think this relates to Brady at all? Belle: Because maybe you were so angry with dad that you were taking it out on Brady. Marlena: Belle? Belle: Mom, I need to know the truth. Is this problem even worse than you're telling me? Jennifer: All right, little mama, come on -- more tea. Hope: Hey, I've been thinking about what you said about Glen and Barb, but the thing is, is that they already think that everyone in Salem is lying to them and trying to keep him from his son, so why would he ever believe anything I have to say? You know what? Just forget it. They'd probably think that it's just another effort to trick them. Jennifer: No, listen. Not if you're honest and candid, all right? Maybe -- maybe admit that he's been lied to. I don't know, and then tell him that if it turns out he is J.T.'s biological father, that you will do everything you can to include him in J.T.'s life in some way. I mean, maybe he could visit at the holidays or whatever. And when J.T.'s old enough to understand, you tell him that Glen is a very close friend of your family, and when he's mature enough to handle it, you tell him the truth. But in the meantime, you and Bo will raise him as your son, and he will stay here with you, and this will always be his home. What? Did I say something wrong? Hope: No. You have given me hope, and I thank you for that. Thank you. Roman: So John's at it again, huh? How many families is he going to destroy? Bo: Roman, it's not what you're thinking. Roman: It's not, huh? Wait a minute. John is married to Marlena, Hope is your wife. Bo: And you know damn well -- Roman: That they are not the same people, they didn't know what they were doing, or some such bull. Come on. They're themselves now, aren't they? They're not under Stefano's control, so you tell me why the hell they were kissing. Look, Bo, I don't want to see you made a fool of, okay? John Black took my wife away from me. I don't want to see the same things happen to you. Bo: It's not the same thing. Roman: Really? How is it so different? John and Marlena -- had a child, which proved to be a very powerful force, which finally brought them together. Look, brother, I'm just trying to make you aware here, okay? Don't let history repeat itself. Hope: Shawn and J.T. had a sleep over the other night. It was so sweet. They were both so excited. You know what Shawn said to me when he woke up? "Mom, if you ever need me, I've got it covered. If you and dad ever want to go away, just the two of you, I'll take care of J.T." Jennifer: Hope, you need to tell that to Glen. Glen needs to see what a great kid Shawn is, and he needs to see how much J.T. means to Shawn. Hope: I'm so blessed with Shawn. He's such a great kid... And smart. He's just at such a vulnerable age. I worry. He has his first real girlfriend, seems to be in love -- happy, hopeful. They're both so full of anticipation, not a cynical bone in their bodies. What's going to happen when they find out? Jennifer: Hope, none of this is your fault. You know that. Hope: I know that intellectually, but in my heart, I still blame myself. I betrayed my husband, and what I did -- it hurt my son. No, not hurt him -- tear him apart. Marlena: Oh, Belle. Don't lose faith in your parents or your family, and don't ever give up your belief in love. I wish for you a man as -- as honest and caring as your father and a wonderful marriage and lots of beautiful children, although I'm in no rush for the children. Don't ever give up on your dreams, sweet girl. Belle: My dreams. Right. To be with Shawn. Marlena: Does he know? Belle: No, no. You told me not to tell him, not that I could. I couldn't even face him at school, so I ran off before he could see me. Philip tried to convince me to talk things out with him, but -- I just couldn't. Yesterday we were sitting at the Brady Pub talking about going to college together in California, planning our future. But now, everything has changed. Audrey: Oh, now, wasn't that beautiful? And your dream wedding could be just as magnificent. Sami: My favorite part was the bridal carriage with the team of white horses. Oh! Audrey: Oh, yeah. It gives the whole proceeding a storybook feel with royal overtones. Don't you think, Austin? Austin: Uh, well, I think releasing 200 turtle doves into the air -- it is a bit over the top. Audrey: Well, I mean, the doves are optional. Some guests actually do complain about the droppings. Sami: Oh. Oh, okay, well, then maybe we should just nix the doves. Austin: Actually, I think we should also nix the life-sized ice sculpture of us kissing. Sami: Oh, but, Austin, it was just like out of a movie. Austin: Yeah, so far, it's called "The Wedding Planner." Audrey: My favorite film. Based on my life, of course. Actually, though, um, a lot of people do say that I look a little bit like Jennifer Lopez. Um, I'm not so sure that I think so, though. Although, Austin, you do have that Matthew McConaughey bone structure. And the body type -- oh, yeah, he's definitely very similar. Sami: Um, can we get back to the wedding? Audrey: Oh, right, uh, back to business. I suppose that we should discuss whether you two want video highlights of your honeymoon over the internet. It is all the rage now. Austin: Forget it, forget it, forget it, that's it, okay? Look, I'm sorry, this is way too much for me, all right? Audrey, you're very sweet, you're very charming, you're very persuasive, but we're not going to do this. Audrey: What? Austin: You heard me. We're canceling the big plans. You know, we'll pay you for your time up to now, but Sami and I from now on are going to handle the wedding prep. Audrey: By yourself? Austin: Yeah. Audrey: You cannot be serious. Austin: Do I look like I'm kidding? Here. Here you go. Here you go. It's been, you know, real, sort of. Audrey: Oh, I do hope you'll change your mind. Austin: Not a chance. As I said, bill us for the time up to now. Audrey: All right, fine, I will. Sami: I'm sorry. Audrey: It's your loss, dear. Austin: Are you upset? Sami: No. You're right. She was a bit... pushy. Anyway, I think she was trying to make a pass at you, and any woman who tries to steal my man, she's going to end up in the river with cement overshoes. Austin: Really? Wow. Just how far would you go to hold on to me, Sami? Roman: Look, all I'm saying here is I was burned big time by John Black. I lost my wife, my family fell apart. Don't let the same thing happen to you, Bo. Bo: I am trying to get past it. Roman: How? Bo: By being rational. There are reasons this happened. Roman: Come on, all right. You tell me you walked in on John and Hope kissing. What possible real reason could there be for that? Bo: I believe my wife when she says she was caught up in memories of being Gina. Thing is, something triggered those memories. I don't know if it was being in the DiMera mansion, or it was something DiMera set up himself, but there is one thing I do know -- Lexie was up to something that night. Abe: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Lexie loves Hope like a sister. She would not do anything to hurt your wife or your family. Now, you can blame that damn house or Stefano, but do not blame my wife. Roman: All right, Abe, wait a minute. Let's not get off-track here. The real issue is what's going on between John and Hope. Now, Bo, you're telling me that Hope is having memories of her life as Gina, which means that she remembers when Gina was in love with John, and now it's possible that they have had a child together. That's just one more reason why they'll be bound together for life. Bo: That's it. I'm out of here. Abe: Where are you going? Bo: I'm going to find Shawn. I want to tell him what's going on before he finds out from somebody else. Jan: Well? Will you come to Chicago with me? Shawn D: I want to help you. But I don't think this is a good plan. I mean, have you even thought this through? We can't just disappear. What's everyone going to think? They're going to wonder where we are. Jan: I don't know. Shawn D.: We'll think of some excuse. [Cellular phone rings] [ring] Jan: Yeah. Oh, Mom. No, no. No, don't worry. I-I'll be there. Yeah, I'm on my way right now, okay? Yeah, I'll see you. All right. Yeah. Bye. Look, I got to run, but... please promise me that you'll help me. Shawn D: I said I would help you, and I will. Jan: Thanks. Shawn D: No, but as for this abortion -- Jan: Thanks so much, Shawn. I knew I could count on you. Look, I got to run, or my mom will kill me. So, um, I'll talk to you later, okay? Thank you. Belle: Right now just being around Shawn or going out with him -- it feels so... Marlena: What? Belle: I can't even say it. Marlena: Try. Belle: Icky. Marlena: "Icky." What does icky mean? Belle: You don't know what icky means -- weird, creepy, awful? And I guarantee, when he finds out that my dad slept with his mom and now they have a baby together, he's going to feel the same way I do. Marlena: Are you thinking of trying not to discuss this thing with Shawn? Belle: I don't know what else to do. I don't want to call him, and if he calls me, I don't know what I would say. Mom, when he finds out about this, he's probably not going to want to see me ever again. Marlena: No, he won't feel that way. He will want to see you. He will want to work this out together. Belle: Right. We can handle this. "Hi, Shawn, so, my dad and your mom had a baby together. Pretty wild, huh? How is my little brother J.T. doing?" Mom, Shawn and I share a little brother now. I am going out with this guy, and we are practically related. This is so -- it's strange, and it's awful. Do you see what I mean? Maybe this is a sign. Maybe Shawn and I were never meant to be together. Austin: You have been avoiding for the past 20 minutes. Are you going to answer my question? Sami: You mean, how far would I go to keep you? Austin: Yeah. I mean, Sami, you pulled out all the stops, you know? You drugged me to get me to sleep with you, then you lied about Will being my son for two years when it was Lucas's, and then you pretended you were paralyzed so I wouldn't dump you. Sami: What are you trying to do, make me feel bad? You really want to go over this laundry list, Austin, remind me of all the terrible things that I did to you? Austin: And to Carrie. Sami: What? Okay, fine. Let's rehash all the bad times, okay? I mean -- Austin: No, no, no. I'm just stating the facts. Sami: Okay. Well, the fact is, Carrie hurt you more than I ever could have. She's the one who left you for another man. Austin: There were reasons. There were reasons, Sami. Sami: One reason. She decided that you weren't good enough, and she ran off with Mike. Austin: I'm really glad you put it that way. That does wonders for my ego. Thank you. Sami: Austin, it wasn't about you. It was about Carrie. She changed for the worse, I mean, while I... changed for the better. Austin: I don't know. It's not that simple. Sami: What, don't you think that I've changed? Austin: Yeah, in many ways. Sami: In the ways that count, right? Austin: Yes, definitely. Sami: You're not just saying that? Austin: Look, do you really think I'd be marrying you if I didn't believe you'd changed? Okay, you know what? I'm going to make a deal with you. Sami: A deal? Austin: Yeah. I promise to cooperate, well, with the wedding plans if you promise never to use that pretentious woman again. Sami: Ha ha ha. All right, you're right. She was a bit over the top, but we should do this together. You know, we're starting, planning the rest of our lives together. We should start by having a perfect wedding -- a wedding that Salem will never forget. Deal? Austin: Okay. Before I agree, I just have one more request. Jennifer: Shawn loves you, and he's going to understand. Right? You've been a great mother, a wonderful wife, and he knows that in his heart. [ Telephone rings] Hope: Hello? Hi. Okay. Okay, I'll see you soon. Jennifer: What's up? Hope: It was Bo. He's on his way home. He thinks we need to tell Shawn ASAP. Jennifer: All right, that's good. You just keep this whole positive attitude going, all right? Hope: Okay, I will. Thank you for everything. Jennifer: All right. And you need to talk to Glen. You need to make him see all the positive things that you're doing for J.T., and you need to let him know what it takes to raise a child with special needs. Hope: Right. Okay, I will, and Glen did admit that J.T. was alive because of us, so maybe he will listen? I'll tell him about Shawn and how much he loves his little brother and adores him. Jennifer: Yeah, that's right, and you let him know how you're devoting your whole life to J.T.'s health and happiness. Hope: There's still maybe a chance I can keep my family together. Jennifer: Yeah. And as you said earlier, and we know as grandma always says... Jennifer and Hope: "Love always wins in the end." Hope: Yeah. Hey, honey. Shawn D: Hey. Hope: Hey. Uh, Shawn, honey, I need to talk to you. Sami: Ahem, so what do you want to ask me, Austin? Austin: You know how I want the wedding to be special, right? I mean, I trust you to make all the right decisions. I mean, that's why I want you to include your mother and sister -- you know, Belle -- on the planning of the wedding. I think you all need to do it as a family, just like we're a family. Sami: I love you so much, Austin. Will and I are so lucky to have you in our lives. Marlena: Belle, don't give up on being happy with Shawn. You two can work through this if you just talk to each other. I told you before, this does not change who you are or who Shawn is. You can still care for each other and love each other. Belle: I wish I were as convinced as you are. I'm going to go to my room. I need to be alone for a while. Marlena: Belle, there's still more to talk about, honey. Belle: No, Mom, I really can't. There's nothing left to say. Marlena: All my years of training as a mother, as a therapist... I don't know how to make this work for Belle. Abe: You know, I've known you for a long time, partner. I've known Bo just as long. We've always been like family. How the hell are we going to get through this? What's going to happen? Roman: A lot of people are going to get the shaft on this, Abe. A lot of people are going to be hurt -- Bo and Hope, you and Lexie. It's going to be hard. But I'll tell you this, I think my brother is in big time denial about John and his wife. This isn't over, not by a long shot. Shawn D: Mom, now is not a good time, all right? Hope: I'm sorry, but it can't wait. Bo: Your mom's right. It can't wait. We do need to talk, right now, as a family. Jennifer: Yes, I'm going to, uh, head out. You're going to be just fine. I'll call you later. Hope: Okay. Thank you. Jennifer: Bye. Shawn D: Well? What is it? Hope: Sit down, okay? Shawn D: No, I don't want to sit down. I want you to tell me what's going on. Because I can see from the expressions on both of your faces that it's something big. So go on. Tell me. |
