Provided By Stephanie Alice's voice: You made our dinner reservations for 8:00, didn't you? Tom's voice: Yes and I have our usual table in the back where we can hold hands and... Do anything else that strikes your fancy. Alice: What's in your mind? Tom: After all these years you don't know me? Alice: You'd better go get dressed. Tom: All right. Alice: Oh, dear, I'm still not sure about this dress. Tom: Oh, darling, stop thinking about the dress. It's elegant. Why don't you occupy yourself with something -- like opening that box? Alice: What box? Oh, my word, how did I miss that? What is it? Is it from the children? Tom, it's from you. Oh, and the box is so pretty, I just hate to open it. Oh, darling, it's lovely. Tom: Will you please open it before you talk it to death? Alice: All right. Oh... Tom: Well? Alice: It's beautiful. Absolutely stunning. [Sighs] oh... Oh, my darling... I wish I still had your ruby close to my heart. [Doorbell rings] oh, for heaven's sake, who could that be? Maggie: Marlena...John. Marlena: Maggie, what's wrong? Maggie: Um, you know what I mentioned to you earlier about the hurricane in Puerto Rico? Oh, God, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry! John: About what, Maggie? Just tell us, damn it. Maggie: I just...I wish... I had... John: Wish what? Just spit it out, damn it. Is it Belle? Maggie: And Shawn and Philip. The news said that they-- they drowned. They drowned. Roger: I think tonight calls for a celebration. Kate: Ha ha. Roger, I think you're jumping the gun. Roger: Oh, anticipation is everything. We'll have champagne, the best in the house. Kate: Well, if you insist. Roger: And maybe your new boss can help us celebrate, huh? Kate: Oh, John's here. Roger: Kate? Kate: Something's wrong. Marlena's crying. John? John? What's wrong? John: Something's happened. The children. Our children. Kate: What is it? John: There's been an accident, Kate. They're gone. Gone. Hope: God, no, it can't be. Not Shawn. Jennifer: I'm so sorry. Jack: We thought you would've heard. Bo: What exactly did the news report say? Jack: That Shawn and Belle and Philip had drowned. Hope: Oh, God. Jennifer: And there was an eyewitness, supposedly that saw the whole thing happen. Hope: It's a mistake. It is. Shawn's an expert swimmer. They all are. Bo: Gotta get a hold of the police in Puerto Rico. Hope: Yeah, and also Salem high. I'm gonna call the principal. [Baby crying] Jennifer: I'll get him. Let me-- Hope: No, no. No, I'll go. I'll go. Jennifer: I'm gonna go. Jack: I'll -- I'll go make some phone calls of my own. Brady: Come on, buddy. All right, everybody get back till the helicopter lands. Come on, let's go. Chloe: You're gonna be ok, Philip. Your father's here. He's gonna get you to a hospital. He's not breathing! Brady: Go! Start chest compressions. Let's go. Come on, buddy, come on. Victor: Oh, my God! Philip! Greta: Sit back, here. Alice: Thank you. So... Greta: I hope you don't mind me just popping by. Alice: Oh, it's never too late for you to come any time. Greta: Thank you. Oh, the fire's nice. Alice: Yes. Tom always loved a fire in the evenings. We used to come in here after dinner and we'd make plans, hmm, and we'd worry about the children. Ha ha. I still come in here sometimes to tell him about my day. Greta: It's rare to have a love like yours -- one that fills your entire life. Alice: I have many happy memories... And some bittersweet. I was dreaming about Tom just before you came in. Something I kept from him and... Greta: A secret? That doesn't sound like you. Alice: I should've told him the truth. I still regret that I didn't. Greta: Well, what was it about? Alice: For our 30th wedding anniversary, tom gave me a ruby necklace -- oh, no, it was a family -- a family heirloom. I loved the sentiment, and I loved the ruby, but not the setting. So I went behind Tom's back and took it to the jeweler and -- to have the setting changed. But the jeweler was robbed, and my ruby was taken. Greta: Oh... Alice: Oh, I couldn't bring myself to tell Tom. And I had a copy made. He never knew the difference, but I did. I wish I'd told him. Now it's too late. Greta: Maybe not. If he's coming to you in your dreams, maybe he's trying to tell you that he does know. Alice: Oh. Victor: What happened? Chloe: Philip almost drowned. Brady saved him. Brady: He's breathing! He's breathing! Chloe: Oh, thank God. Victor: He's so cold. Nicole: May I have a blanket? Victor: But we gotta get him to a hospital. Brady: I'm gonna get him in the helicopter. Brady: All right, you ready? 1, 2, 3! [Groans] we're out of here. Nicole: You helped save Philip's life, and I know Victor is grateful. Chloe: I'm going with you! Nicole: You can't! There's no room! Victor: Nicole? Nicole: I'm coming! Look, I am sorry. I will send the helicopter back for you. Belle: Philip's gonna be ok now. Chloe: But I should be with him! Nicole: There is another duffel bag on the helicopter with some food and water and flashlights. Shawn-D: Yeah, ok, I'll get it. Nicole: Look, Mimi, take this. It's the pilot's. I will keep in touch with you. I promise. Victor: Now, Nicole! Nicole: Take care of yourselves. Chloe: I have the worst feeling. Mimi: I'm gonna go see if I can get this thing to work. Chloe: If anything happens to Philip and I'm not there... Belle: Philip loves you, Chloe. You're all he's talked about this whole trip. He's gonna fight with everything he has to get back to you. You have to believe that. Chloe: I want to believe it, but things don't work out just because we want them to! Belle: They can if you have faith. Chloe: Yeah, maybe in your small little world, but not mine. I've learned that the hard way. If anything can go wrong, it does. Let's just face it, the odds are not in Philip's favor. He could die! There's nothing we can do about it! Belle: Don't you dare even say Philip might not make it! Don't think it, ok? You love him, you fight for him with everything you've got. And you don't give up, Chloe, no matter what. Shawn-D: Philip owes you his life. We all do. Brady: Don't think I'll let you forget it, Shawn. Shawn-D: Here, drink up. Brady: Thank you. Shawn-D: I'm gonna check to see how the others are doing. Brady: All right. Mimi: Wait, I need your help. Brady: Mimi, what's the problem? Mimi: This phone -- all I get is a crackling sound. Brady: Then run around the island to get some reception or something. Maybe that'll work. Mimi: I guess it's safe out here, now that Paul is history. Brady: You mean, Paul's the one who pulled off this jewelry heist? He hid the jewels on this island? Shawn-D: No, one of his buddies did. We found that they used this island to hide a bunch of jewels back to the pirates. Brady: Well, forget about the history. What happened to the jewels? Shawn-D: Paul got all of them except... Oh, my God, the ruby. God, I've got to go dive down and get it. Brady: Shawn, Shawn, you're still in shock, all right? You can't go back in that cavern, man. Shawn-D: No, Brady, I'm fine. Brady: Listen to me, you need to be stabilized before you do anything. If you jump in there, there's a chance you'll never come back out. Shawn-D: Brady, I have come this far for the ruby, there's no way I'm giving up now. Brady: Then let me have my grandfather send down some divers and they'll take care of it, all right? Shawn-D: No, because too much time will go by. That ruby's just gonna get stuck in that muck at the bottom of the cave. I have to do it now. Brady: Shawn, wait, man. Mimi: Here we go again. Kate: [Breathing heavily] John: The hurricane's knocked out all the lines of communication. No one can get through right now. Kate: Then you have to call the damn television station. How the hell could they put this on without having any information? John: I've already got a call in to them. Abraham's trying to call the Puerto Rican police and the hotel where the kids stayed. We're all covered. Marlena: John, I checked the messages at the house and the office. No one's called. Kate: We can't just stand around here doing nothing. John: I'm gonna call the police again. Marlena: And call Bo and Hope. They can't hear about this on the news. John: You're right. Maggie: If you want some privacy, you can use the phone in my office. John: Yeah, thanks. You ok? Roger: Kate, is there anything I can do? Kate: Oh, God, I can't think. I can't think. [Sighs] oh, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Marlena: Maybe you could see if there's anything more on the news. Roger: Of course. Kate: I can't believe this is happening. I just can't believe this. First Lucas and then Philip. I can't -- I can't lose another son. I can't lose another son. God can't be this cruel. Bo: Damn it. Jack: No luck? Bo: None. The storm's knocked everything out. I can't get through to Puerto Rico. Jack: Well, I just had the TV on in the kitchen. The news report is still the same. Bo: Something's not right here. Jack: What did you hear from the school principal? Bo: Nothing, nothing! His machine was on. The assistant principal wasn't home, either. You know, something's not right here. We should've heard from one of them. We didn't even know the kids were missing, much less... Jack: I hate to say this, but I think that the media jumped the gun. Bo: What do you mean? Jack: I just talked to the station manager. He doesn't have any hard facts. He doesn't even have the name of the witness. Bo: What the...? The media are supposed to check out the facts and the sources before they release a story like this. Jack: Yeah, yeah, they're supposed to, but he wanted to get the story out first. So it's irresponsible reporting. He broke the rule that protects the families of victims. Bo: We don't know that there are victims. Jack: The manager apologized. He didn't know that you hadn't been notified. He assumed that you'd been told. Bo: Yeah, what, is that supposed to make me feel better? Jack: I know that you must be-- Bo: I'm not accepting this news report as fact! My son is alive. He's gotta be. Hope: Oh, big guy. [Sighs] Gran always says God never gives us more than we can handle. Jennifer: I believe that, Hope. Hope: It took all my strength just to hang on when J.T. was ill. Yeah. And when he was kidnapped. God has to be watching over Shawn. I need both my boys. Hope's voice: Are you sure he's warm enough? Maybe we should go back home and get a couple more blankets. Shawn-D: Mom, you already packed like 12 blankets in there. He's in good hands, all right, I promise. Hope: You're right. You're right. I'm sorry, you're right. You're absolutely right. He's in good hands. Jennifer: What? Hope: I was just remembering Shawn taking care of his little brother. He promised he'd always be there for him. Now look at you. Your big brother's gonna keep his promise. Do you hear me? Yeah. Oh, I have to believe that. He will. I know he will. Yeah. Yeah, sweetheart. Nicole: Ok, I'll relay the message. The er doctor says to check Philip's pupils. See if they're enlarged. For a response. Victor: I can't tell about the pupils. His eyes are glazed. Nicole: He says his eyes are glazed. Well, try pinching him. Victor: Nothing. Pilot: Hold on. Victor: What the hell? Pilot: An air pocket. Victor: Get us out of this. Pilot: The controls are jammed. Nicole: Oh, my God! Pilot: There we go. There we go. Everyone in one piece? Victor: Just get us there. Nicole, get back on the radio. Nicole: Doctor, hello? Hello, we ran into turbulence. Doctor? I've lost radio contact. No, there's still nothing. Pilot: I'm sorry, the radio is out. Victor: Philip? Philip? Oh, my God, I'm not getting a pulse! [Dialing] Mimi: Nothing but static. Earth to satellite. Beam me in. [Dialing] Belle: I would think because of the way Philip love the way he still loves you, I think that would've taught you what it means to be happy in life. So I don't want to hear you say again that you think Philip might not make it. Chloe: [Sighs] You're right. I'm sorry. Philip will make it. We'll pray for him to make it. We won't let him die. Belle: We just have to stick together, Chloe. Chloe: I don't know what I'd do without you, Belle. Brady: Shawn, listen to me. If anybody's gonna go back down this cavern, it's me, all right? Shawn-D: Keep that flashlight on. Brady: Shawn, being in that water for a long period of time has really warped your brain. Shawn-D: No, dude, I know exactly where Belle fell down there. Ok, look, I'm gonna jump down there and get the ruby. I'll pop back up, I'll yell to you to start pulling me up. Belle: Uh, excuse me, what's going on? Look, you know I came to this island to get gran's ruby. I'm not gonna leave without it. Belle: You're not going home as body parts, Shawn. Brady: Listen to her. She's got a point. Shawn-D: No, look... I'm this close. I'm not gonna give up now. Belle: I am not letting you go. Brady: Yes, so let me go. Shawn-D: And let you get all the glory? Not a chance. All: Shawn, no! Belle: Shawn? Shawn, answer me. Brady, I can't see a thing. Brady: All right, all right. Shawn, Shawn, find my light. Come on, man, surface! Belle: Shawn! Greta: Here we go. Did you check out the D.V.D.‘s I brought? All action/adventure. Hmm hmm. Alice: Oh, yes, my favorites. Nothing like those Harrison ford movies. Thank you. And thank you for getting the tea. Greta: No problem. I'm gonna do the honors here. Alice: Now, I want to hear about what's happening in your life. Greta: Oh, well, not enough. Meaning that there's no one special in my life and my prospects are looking pretty bleak. Alice: Oh, well, maybe you're spending too much time with the wrong men. Greta: Yeah, well you got that right. Alice: I couldn't help but notice that. You and Jack have been together quite a lot lately. Greta: Oh, yeah, but we're just friends and that's all it'll ever be. Alice: Yes, because of his feelings for Jennifer. Greta: No, because of who he is. Alice: Because of who he is? What does that mean, dear? What are you talking about, Greta? Greta: [Laughs] Marlena: We should be on a plane heading for the islands right now. John: We're gonna go just as soon as we get all the facts, all right? Bo: Coming in? John: Yeah. All right? Kate: None of this seems real. Jennifer: Excuse me. Marlena, hi. Can I get you anything? Marlena: No, I'm fine. Hope: Has anyone gotten through? John: I talked to the school principal. He finally got a call from Mr.. Woods, the kids' teacher. The connection was really bad and he got cut off before he got all the information out. Bo: What about the report of the drowning? John: Well, Bo, apparently -- he thinks it's probably true. Hope: Oh, God. John: There was an eyewitness who saw the three of them in the water and they were, they were, um, they were going down. Bo: What about the identity of this eyewitness? John: Well, like I said, the connection was bad and he got cut off before I could learn anymore except... They haven't found the bodies. Hope: You see? That's proof. They're ok. Kate: I agree. There's always hope. Marlena: Baby. Oh, my baby. John: We're gonna find her, sweetheart. That's a promise. Hope: Hey, it's gonna be ok. Our children are gonna come back to us. Marlena, we have to keep believing that, just like we did when J.T. was taken. Come here. John's voice: Well, now I know why your mother was getting all choked up looking at your baby pictures this afternoon. You look lovely, sweetheart. You are...All grown up. Belle: Thanks, dad. Brady: You know, it's funny, he didn't cry when he saw me in my suit. John: It's different with girls. Don't ask me why. Bo: John, I'm gonna call the station and see if they've gotten through to Puerto Rico. John: Yeah, I'll be right there. I wish I knew how to get A hold of Brady. Marlena: Maybe it's better for Brady not to know yet. Kate: I called Victor earlier. No one answered. John: Well, someone on his staff has gotta be around. Kate: Ok, I'll try again. He always leaves information where he's going, where he can be reached. [Dialing] [phone ringing] Henderson: Kiriakis residence. Kate: Henderson, it's Kate. I need to get in touch with Victor. Henderson: Mr. Kiriakis will be back in a few days. Kate: Don't you lie to me. Where is he? Henderson: He and Miss Walker left in the private jet. I don't know where they were headed. He's supposed to call in, but I haven't heard from him. [Beeps] Kate: Where's Victor when his son needs him? Off with that whore. Well, to hell with him. To hell with him. Dr. Gomez: Has he regained consciousness? Nurse: No, no. Dr. Gomez: Cubicle three. Start an I.V. Victor: I'm Victor Kiriakis. Where did they take my son? Nurse: I'm sorry, I don't know. Nicole: I'll find someone. Excuse me. Are you a doctor? Dr. Gomez: Yes. Dr. Gomez. Nicole: Oh, thank heavens! I spoke to you from the helicopter about Philip Kiriakis? Victor: I'm Victor Kiriakis. Where's my son? Dr. Gomez: Ok. I need to know how long your son was under water. Victor: I don't know. Dr. Gomez: Salt or fresh water? Victor: In a cavern somewhere. That's all I was told. Dr. Gomez: Did he have a cardiovascular event that caused him to lose consciousness? Victor: Philip has no heart problems. He's an athlete. He has to take a very rigid physical examination every year to play football. He was under water too long, he lost consciousness. Dr. Gomez: Is your son allergic to any medicine or taking anything? Victor: He doesn't drink, he doesn't smoke, he doesn't do drugs. Now, can I see my son? Dr. Gomez: As soon as he is stabilized. Nicole: Brady and Shawn probably know the answer to some of these questions. Victor: We don't have time to wait for the helicopter to get here. Nicole: We can call them. I gave them the pilot's cell phone. Dr. Gomez: Oh, yeah, use this. Outside, please. We don't allow cell phones in the hospital. Victor: But my son? Dr. Gomez: I'll let you know. Nicole: Come on. Ok, this is the number the pilot gave me. [Dialing] Victor: Hope those kids aren't tying up the phone. Damn, nothing but static. Belle: Sh- Shawn, answer me! Brady: Belle, pull on the rope. He can feel that. Belle: It's loose. Brady: What? Belle: It must've come untied when he jumped down. Brady: Oh, my God, he's hurt. I'm going in there. Belle: Wait, wait! You need to tie the rope around you. Chloe: I see something. Brady: Chloe, I see nothing. Chloe: I swear I saw something! Belle: He's there! Brady: Shawn! Shawn, you all right? Shawn-D: Yeah, I'm fine. Where's the rope? Belle: Here! I'll throw it down. Brady: All right, grab hold of the rope. Shawn-D: Yeah. Ok, I got it. Brady: All right, I'm going to start hauling you up. Mimi: Shawn actually made it! Mimi: He made it and Philip will, too. Brady: All right, Shawn, you're almost there, buddy. There you go. I got it. Belle: Shawn, thank God! Shawn-D: I got it, Belle. I got it. Finally. I'm taking it back home to gran. I did it for the family. This baby's going back where it belongs. Belle: And so are we. Chloe: I wish Philip were here. Mimi: He is in spirit. Belle: We could say a prayer for him. Shawn-D: That's a good idea. Chloe: I don't really know any prayers. Belle: Please, God, Philip is a good person. We need him here. Brady: Philip's like a brother to me, the brother I never had. I don't know what I'd do without him. Chloe: We love him, God. Please let him stay with us. Mimi: Amen. Shawn-D: Amen. Brady: Come here, guys. Mimi: All right. Well, I'm going to see if I can get this phone to work again -- out on the beach. Maybe keep an eye out for the helicopter. Chloe: Thanks, Mimi. Shawn-D: You know, Chloe, when I was down there, I found something that I think you might want to hold on to. Greta: What woman in her right mind would get involved with a man who's living with his ex-wife -- no matter how platonic it is? Alice: I get the feeling that there's something they're not saying. Greta: No, just that Jack is really desperate to get his family back, no matter what it takes. Anyway, Jack is definitely not the man of my dreams. Alice: Are you sure? Greta: Um, I am positive. I am going to hold out for a man who will buy me a ruby on my 30th anniversary. You know, I can't believe they never were able to find that. Did the police keep the case open? Alice: My great grandson Shawn has taken it on as his personal cause. He's determined to go after the ruby and bring it back to me no matter what. The boy has absolutely no sense of the danger that he could be walking into. [Doorbell rings] Greta: Oh, I'll get that. John: Belle feels closer to me out here somehow. Marlena: Remember when she was small? She thought that our balcony was so high, she could almost reach out and touch the stars. John: Everything about her is coming back to me. I remember how I felt the first time I held her in my arms. Marlena's voice: Here she is. John's voice: Hey, baby. You know, this is the first time I've seen her since I heard the news. Marlena's voice: Do you want to hold her? John's voice: Could I? Marlena's voice: She's your daughter. Here, Belle. John's voice: Hey, it's your daddy. Oh! Look at you. Marlena: We just can't lose her now. John: We haven't lost her. I'm sure she's out there -- somewhere. Probably looking up at the same stars we are right now. Bo: Well, stay on it. Yeah, I know you are, Abe. Thanks, I appreciate it. Damn it! He hasn't been able to get through to the police in San Juan. Hope: How can this be happening? Our son disappears, and we don't know how or when we're going to find him. Bo: But we will. Hope, our son is alive. Maggie: Hi, Greta. I'm glad Alice isn't alone. How is she? Greta: Oh, she's great. We're just having some tea. Maggie: Then you haven't heard? Greta: No, what's wrong? Maggie: It's Shawn. A storm hit the island that he was on, somewhere off of Puerto Rico. He was -- he was drowned. And Belle and Philip were, too. Greta: Oh, my God. Maggie: I heard it on the news about an hour ago. Greta: Mrs. Horton has no idea. Alice: Greta? Who's at the door? Maggie: It's just me, Alice. I'll be right there. Alice: Oh, hello, dear. Greta: Have there been any other reports? Maggie: I don't know anything more. All I know is that Marlena and John were going over to be with Bo and Hope -- to see what they had found out. I -- I just came here first. Alice: Don't stand out there in the foyer, you two. Greta: Maybe we should get some more information before saying anything to Mrs.. Horton? Maggie: Well, Alice listens to the news at night before she goes to bed. I'd rather she heard it from me. Chloe: What did you find? Shawn-D: Philip's wallet. Belle: Look inside. Shawn-D: You were with him the whole time we were away, Chloe. Chloe: I'm sorry. Brady: It's ok. It's ok. Shawn-D: Philip has gotten through before. I just know he's going beat it, Chloe. Belle: Keep fighting for him. Remember. Victor: This is a nightmare. My son is in there unconscious, I can't get any information out of the doctors, and this damn telephone is useless! Nothing but static. You didn't take the number down right, that's the problem. Nicole: It's the number the pilot gave me. Victor: Here, you try. Nicole: Victor, working yourself into a heart attack is not going to help Philip. Victor: I'm going to go see my son. Victor: Dr. Gomez, how's my son? Dr. Gomez: You can go in for a few minutes. Victor: Is he conscious? Dr. Gomez: No. Victor: But he's going to be all right, though, isn't he? Answer me, damn it! Mimi: Please, please, please, work this time! John's voice : Hi, this is John. Mimi: Mr. Black, I'm so glad-- John's voice: We can't take your call right now, but leave a message for Marlena, Brady, Belle, or me, and we'll get back to you. Mimi: Somebody please pick up. [Beep] Mimi: It's Mimi. I'm calling to tell you about Belle-- no! No, not again! Hello. Hello? Stupid phone! Mimi: Ok. Got through once, I can do it again. I'll try's family. [Dialing] Die on me, and I'll wring your neck. Mimi: Oh, it's hopeless. Jack: All right. Thank you very much. Thanks. Jennifer: Did you call the television station again? Jack: No, I was just checking on Abigail. Jennifer: Oh. Jack: We take it for granted that our children are safe, and then something like this happens. Jennifer: I know. It makes you really appreciate how fragile and precious life is. John: Hey. Hope: This is our fault, John. John: What are you talking about? Hope: We're being punished. Our children are paying for our sins. John: Oh, knock it off! It wasn't any sin. We didn't have any control over what we were doing. Hope: We need to tell them the truth: How J.T. was conceived, that you're his father. It's the only way. John: Come on, just stop it-- Hope: Don't you see, John? No more lying, no more lies, we can't lie anymore. John: You cannot make any decisions like this right now. What you need to do right now is focus on Shawn, Belle, and Philip. Hope: Don't you see? John, maybe if we tell the truth, they'll be spared. John: What I see is whatever you're feeling, just wait. Hope: I can't. My God, John, I have to do everything I can to get our children back. John: No, Hope, stop -- stop, damn it! Hope! Hope: Bo! Bo, where are you? Bo. Bo: What is it? What's wrong? Hope: There's something I need to tell you... Something I should have told you before. If our son is dead it's because of me. This is my punishment. |
