Episode #8509 ~ Zoe apologizes to Paris, who then offers to help her win back Carter. Bill becomes irritated when Wyatt innocently asks him about his car.

Liam: It feels like I'm-- like I'm getting my life back, you know.

Bill: I'm happy for you and hope--that she's giving you another shot.

Liam: Well, her inviting me back home, I mean, you-- you of all people, you know how huge that is for me. I--I miss my wife and my family so much.

Bill: I understand, liam. But a lot has happened since hope kicked you out. Vinny's death has been gnawing away at you. That...guilt and shame on your face and in your eyes, it's gotta go. You have to be mentally and emotionally prepared to go back to hope and keep this secret. Because that's exactly what has to happen.

Hope: Liam's coming home tonight, and our family will finally feel whole again.

Brooke: Ah, that's such wonderful news, sweetheart. The kids are gonna be so thrilled.

Hope: It's going to be such a nice surprise for them when they come home from their playdate and see him.

Brooke: So good to see you smile again. Really. I know the separation hasn't been easy on you.

Hope: Yeah. I mean, I'm still obviously hurt by what happened, but nothing can erase what happened that night, and I am just ready to put that behind us, and I know liam is, too. We're ready to concentrate on the future of our family.

Quinn: I really should call or text before I keep stopping by.

Carter: [ Laughs ] That is not necessary, quinn. I always enjoy seeing you.

Quinn: Oh, well, at least somebody does.

Carter: Ouch.

Quinn: No. No, no, no. We are not doing that today. I'm not here to feel sorry for myself. Zoe asked me to come and talk to you again on her behalf.

Paris: Sounds like quinn's really going out of her way to put in a good word with carter.

Zoe: Hey, I need all the help I can get. I know carter misses me, but he's not even close to forgiving me for flirting with zende.

Paris: I hope it works out, zoe. You know I want that for you. But I just wonder why you're putting all your faith in quinn. I know you two have become friendly, but...

Zoe: Yeah, well, quinn's been kind of like a godsend to me. Seriously, I don't know what I would do without her.

Carter: Quinn, I know you mean well, but, uh, I'm not sure zoe and I have a future together.

Quinn: Don't say that.

Carter: Look, I'm just speaking the truth. I don't know if I can get to a place where I can trust her again.

Quinn: Well, you sound a lot like my husband. But if I'm not gonna give up, neither are you.

Brooke: So tonight's the night, right? Liam's gonna be moving back in.

Hope: Mm-hmm. He actually just went to tell bill the news. Bill's been really worried lately. I mean, he's--he's been pretty protective of liam.

Brooke: Bill has his flaws, but you can't fault him for being intensely protective of the people that he loves.

Hope: As a parent, I totally understand him wanting the best for his son.

Brooke: Bill would do anything for liam.

Liam: Hey, dad, I know I haven't been the easiest to be around, but I should acknowledge everything that you've done for me.

Bill: You were overcome watching vinny die in front of us, you fainted. I had to get you out of there to protect you. Now, liam, I've watched you every day since. You've been torturing yourself, racked with guilt. Now you're going back to hope, and you have to be able to handle it.

Liam: I know. I-I-I--I will. My family is everything to me, and I need to be able to be around hope and my kids, especially after-- hey.

Wyatt: Hey. What's going on? Introducing voltaren arthritis pain gel.

Zoe: You don't trust quinn?

Paris: No, no, no. I--I didn't say that. It's just hearing some of the things about the past...

Zoe: Look, I've heard all the rumors.

Paris: And I think most of them are actually true.

Zoe: Quinn has had her share of past mistakes. And that's honestly probably why we connected so quickly.

Paris: I just don't know if becoming close with someone like quinn is the best idea.

Zoe: Why are you being so down on her?

Paris: No. I'm not. I'm not trying to diss her as a person, but she does have a reputation for getting in people's business.

Zoe: Okay, but that's exactly what I want right now. I mean, I want her to talk me up to carter. I want her to get in his ear. I mean, seriously, that's why I sent her over to his place.

Zoe: Okay, but what if she takes it too far and ends up hurting your chances with carter?

Quinn: Zoe is gorgeous, and she's bright, and she's successful.

Carter: I don't disagree with you.

Quinn: And she's deeply in love with you.

Carter: That's debatable.

Quinn: Come on. She messed up. Once. That's what happens when you have a fear of intimacy. You know, you self-sabotage.

Carter: Speaking from experience?

Quinn: Speaking from-- of course I'm speaking from experience. You know me. I've messed up once or twice. I mean, I hopefully didn't ruin my marriage. But come on, zoe is--is young. She's never experienced a man like you, somebody's who's loving and faithful. Somebody who is devoted completely to her and only to her.

Carter: She made a move on zende. I'm supposed to brush that aside?

Quinn: Yes, you are. You're supposed to forgive her and move on. Look, she asked you for your forgiveness. And in my book, if somebody apologizes and they're sincere, then you need to forgive them.

Carter: You're referring to your situation.

Quinn: No. We're not talking about me. I'm here to talk about zoe.

Carter: I don't wanna talk about zoe. I wanna talk about you.

Quinn: [ Sighs ]

Brooke: This is a big step in your marriage.

Hope: Yeah. I wasn't sure I'd ever get to this point.

Brooke: Well, forgiveness can be challenging, but it can also be one of the most rewarding things that you ever do. It is hard, though, to let the person that hurt you back into your heart.

Hope: Well, liam never really left my heart. But you are right. You know, part of me is fearful about what might happen. You know, if there's something else down the line that could derail our marriage and our family. I-I can't help but think about that.

Brooke: Oh, honey, stop, please. Don't keep thinking about all the things that could go wrong. You're gonna drive yourself crazy.

Hope: Okay. You're right.

Brooke: You are a strong, independent woman, and I am so proud of you. Just don't allow that one awful night to turn your and liam's life upside down.

Wyatt: Okay. Uh, what's with all the tension, guys? Whenever I come in to see you, it's always as if somebody died.

Bill: No tension. I was just, uh, clowning around with liam a little bit. Giving him a hard time about packing up and deserting me.

Wyatt: Wait. Packing up? You're moving back home?

Liam: Yeah.

Wyatt: Dude, congrats, man. That's awesome.

Liam: Dude, I'm so happy about it.

Wyatt: I bet. That's huge for you.

Liam: It is. It really is. Actually, I-I gotta go. Uh, hope's waiting for me.

Wyatt: Go. By all means. You celebrate with your wife.

Liam: All right. Okay.

Wyatt: [ Laughs ] Okay, uh, so, what's going on? This is a monumental time for liam and his family, and you don't seem very excited about that.

Bill: I have my concerns.

Wyatt: Concerns about what? New pronamel mineral boost

Paris: [ Sighs ] Look, I'm not sure about all the dirt that's happened in the past, but I've heard enough about quinn to make me wonder.

Zoe: Yeah, but, paris, people could say the exact same thing about me.

Paris: Look, I'm not trying to judge quinn, but... pushing people into rivers? Messing with marriages? I just think you should be careful.

Zoe: Look, quinn has been nothing but a loyal friend to me.

Paris: So far. But are you sure you can really trust her?

Quinn: You wanna talk about me?

Carter: I know you and eric are going through a challenging phase right now.

Quinn: Oh, wow. Well, it doesn't so insurmountable when you put it so graciously.

Carter: I also know you're feeling lonely since he left, and now you're here to talk to me about my relationship?

Quinn: Yes. So how am I doing? On a scale of 1 to 10.

Carter: Don't change the subject.

Quinn: Oh, come on. I feel like I've bared my soul enough about how disinterested my husband is in me. Besides, I don't wanna sound... ungrateful. I have a wonderful life. I'm very lucky.

Carter: Quinn, I'm your friend. You're allowed to vent. You can keep it real with me.

Quinn: Oh, but I don't wanna keep harping on about my problems when my whole point of being here is to reconnect you to zoe.

Carter: What's going on with you and eric is just as important. It's more important, and you need to know that I'm here for you. I get the feeling you didn't just come over here to speak to me about zoe.

Wyatt: Okay, you have concerns about what? Liam is reuniting with his wife and his kids. You have issues with that? Why?

Bill: I just want everything to work out for him.

Wyatt: Well, same here, but, I mean, it's kind of up to liam to screw things up again.

Bill: No, no, no, no, no, no. There is no room for liam to screw up anything. All right? He has to keep his eye on the prize and not do anything to jeopardize his future.

Wyatt: Well, I'm sure he learned his lesson. He and hope are probably never gonna be apart ever again.

Bill: I'm praying you're right.

Wyatt: Okay, you're extra intense today. What--what is up?

Bill: Hey, wyatt, you know, I have responsibilities.

Wyatt: [ Laughs ]

Bill: A lot of them. I have to manage my kids. I have to take care of this company. I don't live in my dad's beach house, surf every day, and not have a care in the world.

Wyatt: Okay. A--you created that lifestyle for me, and, b-- fine. I'm going back to my office. But there is one small favor.

Bill: [ Groans ]

Wyatt: And that's what I came here for.

Bill: Whatever it is, the answer is no.

Wyatt: You didn't even hear what I was gonna say.

Bill: Don't need to. The answer's no.

Wyatt: I just wanted to take flo out for a nice, romantic drive up the coast tomorrow. That's it.

Bill: Oh, you want another day off.

Wyatt: No. Yeah. I was gonna ask you that, too. But my car's in the shop. It's been acting up a little bit, and I was just wondering if I could borrow one of yours-- a certain matte black one that you don't ever let anyone drive ever.

Bill: You can't have that one.

Wyatt: Seriously? That's my favorite car.

Bill: It's gone.

Wyatt: What?

Brooke: Your happiness is more important than anything, sweetheart. But I have the same fears you do. I don't want liam to be the cause of any more pain.

Hope: Yeah, I don't think i can handle any more heartbreak.

Brooke: Just know that it might take a while for you to feel safe again.

Hope: I am getting there. I mean, liam wouldn't be coming home if I wasn't ready.

Brooke: Just pace yourself. Don't put yourself under too much pressure, okay? I know you're doing this for the kids, but I want you to do this for you, too. And liam did let you down. He betrayed your trust. But it was one awful night, honey, and he regrets it. I just don't want you to let your past determine your future.

Liam: I agree with brooke for what it's worth. As hard as it is, given what I've done, I'm trying to leave the past in the past and move on, and... being here at home with you and the kids,- that is-- that is the light at the end of a very dark tunnel. Losing a tooth didn't stop you

Quinn: You're too sweet, carter.

Carter: I mean it.

Quinn: [ Laughs ]

Carter: I'm here if you wanna get anything off your chest.

Quinn: You're a great listener. It's really nice to have somebody to... confide in about my marriage, you know. Somebody who-- who cares.

Carter: You'll get no judgment from me.

Quinn: Oh, that is such a rarity these days.

Carter: Well, I understand how relationships can be complicated.

Quinn: I'm just so used to everyone always siding with eric.

Carter: That's not fair.

Quinn: No. I feel very unheard and misunderstood most of the time. But--I don't know. It's so easy talking to you. Which is really weird because you're so close to eric and to ridge.

Carter: I can be objective.

Quinn: That's got to be the lawyer in you.

Carter: [ Laughs ] I'm more than just a buttoned-up guy.

Quinn: Oh, yes, because i have seen you unbuttoned a lot recently. [ Laughs ]

Carter: I enjoy our conversations, quinn. You and me, I think, uh, we're in similar situations. We get each other.

Quinn: Yeah. We do.

Carter: You have so many... amazing qualities.

Quinn: Me?

Carter: Yes. Yes. You're a talented artist. You raised a wonderful son as a single mother. You're a great friend-- going to bat for zoe, you know. And on top of that, you're beautiful... and mischievous.

Quinn: Me?

Carter: Yes. You.

Quinn: [ Laughs ]

Carter: It's very sexy. Eric will come around, intimately and all. I mean, look at you. He'd be a fool to let you go.

Wyatt: It's gone? That was your favorite car. It was like your fourth child.

Bill: Don't be so dramatic. It's just a vehicle.

Wyatt: What did you do with it?

Bill: What do you think I did with it? I sold it to a very generous buyer.

Wyatt: You said you'd never sell that car.

Bill: Dollar bill, wyatt. He gave me three times what I paid for it. Of course I sold it.

Wyatt: Wow. I-I cannot even believe this. Like, I--I thought you were gonna leave me that car, and then I could leave it to my kid, and they could leave it to their kids--

Bill: Okay, how about you slow your roll on engraving my tombstone. And you don't even have a kid.

Wyatt: I will someday. I can't even believe you did this. You should have consulted me about this decision.

Bill: Oh, of course you're right. I didn't ask your permission. My bad.

Wyatt: This sucks. That was a real beauty. That was a super rare car, super rare.

Bill: Well, how about you borow one of my other super rare cars? How about that?

Wyatt: Fine.

Bill: Good. Now, I have work to do.

Wyatt: I was gonna leave anyway, so thank you.

Bill: Close the door behind you.

Wyatt: Bye.

[ Tires screech ]

Hope: Beth and douglas should be back soon. They're going to be so excited that you're home.

Liam: [ Laughs ] I'm never leaving again.

Hope: [ Laughs ]

Liam: I'm gonna be here to tuck 'em every night and make 'em pancakes every morning.

Hope: Welcome home.

Liam: I can't tell you what it means to me to be here right now.

Hope: You know what? Let's make it a point to just focus on what's ahead.

Liam: Yeah.

Hope: All the wonderful times that we're going to have from here on out.

Liam: Yes. Yes. Exactly. That's what I wanna focus on. All the--all the-- all the happy memories we're gonna make. In fact, I don't wanna-- I don't wanna think about anything but that. You're the reason that what I did didn't destroy our marriage, hope. You-- you took a huge leap of faith giving me another chance, and... it's not for nothing. I'm gonna spend the rest of my life proving to you that I'm worthy of your trust and your love. Okay? I will.

Hope: Liam, I know you regret what you did. And I'm not going to lie. I'm still going to be working through it, and it won't be the easiest road ahead, but... this is our first step forward toward the rest of our lives with our family, with our children, and nothing and no one will ever take that from us ever again. Okay?

Liam: Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Yeah.
