Episode #8409 ~ Zende hides his true feelings when he offers best wishes to Zoe and Carter; Steffy and Liam bond over their daughter; Thomas is thrown when the Hope Mannequin professes her love for him.

Zende: You were surprised, too? That hope was willing to work with thomas again?

Steffy: Yeah. I thought it was never gonna happen. And it wouldn't have if hope had any doubts in him. But she sees what I see. He knows how hard he's working on himself, and he's no longer obsessed with her.

Zende: I can tell you're proud of him.

Steffy: I am. He's come a long way.

Zende: Would be nice to trust him again. And he is my cousin. That should go without saying. But for a while there...

Steffy: Yeah, I get it. It's even worse when it's your brother. So you do trust him?

Zende: Until he proves otherwise.

Steffy: Great. That's great. You know, I think we should all stick together as a family and support him. Especially since there's people out there who aren't willing to give him another shot.

Zende: Liam?

Steffy: Yeah, I don't think he's ever gonna trust thomas again. Especially around hope.

Liam: Are these the projections?

Hope: Not bad, huh?

Liam: Uh, yeah. Not bad at all.

Hope: Well, we'll see how the actual numbers turn out.

Liam: Yeah, but it's--it's impressive regardless of the numbers. I mean, hope for the future has always been about more than profit, right? That's why your audience likes the line. They like the messaging behind it.

Hope: I appreciate that. But I don't know. Sometimes I wonder that the messaging is getting old.

Liam: No. That's--that's the beauty of it. Hope for the future evolves with every collection. Right? I mean, sustainability's still a key thing, as it should be, but your message has definitely broaden over the years. Times change. So do you. So does your audience. It's exciting.

Hope: It's like what we're doing with the upcoming collection. You know, shining a brighter light on inclusion.

Liam: Do you see--do you see why I'm a proud husband?

Hope: Well, thank you for saying that. Honestly, I am-- I am so excited for this line, and I really do think it's gonna do well. Everyone has been putting so much work into it, and... I've never felt more confident in my team.

Liam: Yeah. I mean, I wish that team didn't have to include thomas, but, um, it is what it is. I-- I know you think he's mellowed out. I just--I can'T...

Hope: All I was trying to say before is that I don't think he's fixated on me, and that is something we should both be thankful for.

Thomas: Ah, you're-- you're alive? Oh. This--this isn't real. It-it can't be.

"Hope": But it is. Don't be afraid. I'm here. I'm all yours.

Steffy: Well, that's a wrap for me.

Zende: Finally. Once the ceo leaves, the rest of us can get the hell out, too.

Steffy: Well, keep designing the way you have, and work whatever hours you want. Okay?

[ Cellphone beeping ]

[ Line ringing ]

Liam: Hello.

Steffy: Hey, it's me. I just wanted to remind you about the party. I'm leaving work. I'm about to pick up kelly. Just wanted to make sure you still wanted to come.

Liam: Oh, right. Uh--uh, yes. Yeah. I'll meet you there.

Steffy: Okay.

Hope: Steffy?

Liam: Yeah. She-- she was just calling to remind me about this-- this big party for one of kelly's friends on the beach, and she's really excited about it, but she wants both her mom and her dad to be there, and I kinda don't wanna disappoint her, but I also understand if you need me here to--

Hope: You're asking my permission if you can go. You know that's not necessary, right? Go. Have fun. I want you to spend as much time with kelly as you can.

Thomas: No. It can't be.

"Hope": Why not?

Thomas: [ Shouts ] Why not? 'Cause you're not really here!

"Hope": I am here for you, thomas. I'm always... here... for you. Get this, I have my stouffer's bowl-fulls

Zende: Have fun at the party.

Steffy: Oh, we will. Kelly is so excited.

Paris: Hi. Is zoe in there?

Steffy: Hey, paris. No, I think she's off with carter somewhere.

Paris: Oh, what a surprise.

Steffy: Oh, you speak your mind.

Paris: Always.

Steffy: I like the energy. I hope to see you around more often.

Paris: I can be talked into that.

Steffy: And you, keep up the good work, but don't stay here all night.

Zende: Hmm. I'll keep that in mind. Have fun with liam and kelly.

Liam: Hey. Um, do you wanna make it a bigger event? Pack up beth and douglas, and we all head over there together. I'm sure steffy wouldn't mind.

Hope: Well, kelly asked to spend time with her parents, so I think it's okay if we keep it just the three of you for now.

Liam: Thank you. It can't be easy for you knowing I have another daughter to raise. Especially when it takes time away from our family.

Hope: You know I say to always put the children first, and kelly is your daughter, and I would never do anything to interfere with your relationship.

Liam: I appreciate you. How do you do-- you're always so supportive and so understanding.

Hope: All right. I will remind you of that next time we have an argument.

Liam: We don't argue. What are you talking about?

Hope: Oh, no. Not ever?

Hope: Not even when it comes to your favorite subject matter, thomas?

Liam: Ah, yeah. I know that you feel like I overreact sometimes. Maybe I do, but I'm just trying to keep you safe and protected from all his craziness. Douglas, too. I don't want thomas to hurt either one of you again. And I--and I know that you have to work with him, I know that, both as parents and as forrester. But then you--then you say something like you want him to be a bigger part of our family, and I just-- I don't think he's earned that. I mean, he's-- thomas has historically always been a threat to our family, and he probably always will be.

"Hope": I'm here, thomas. Whatever you need.

Thomas: All right. Look, I don't know what you're talking about. What--what do you want from me?

"Hope": To not give up.

Thomas: Give up?

"Hope": On hope. She needs you. Free her. Free her. Free her from liam.

Paris: I should've known zoe would be with carter. She hasn't left his side since they got engaged.

Paris: Oh. Uh, I'm--I'm sorry. I didn't mean to get her in trouble especially if she was supposed to be here working with you.

Zende: No. No.

Paris: Okay. Just seems like something bummed you out. And if it isn't zoe, is it carter? Is it that they got engaged? Zende, does that bother you?

Zende: Of course not. No. I'm very happy for them.

Paris: Well, you better be. You know, I'm pushing for the two of us to be best man and maid of honor, and I can't have you being all grumpy, ruining all my photo ops.

Zende: Like I could ruin any photo you're in. With that smile? Come on.

Paris: Oh, you noticed my smile?

Zende: Kinda hard not to. You're always seem to be in such a good mood.

Paris: I can't help it. It's how I'm wired.

Zende: It's probably my favorite thing about you. And the best part is it's infectious. You're such a positive force, paris. You walk in a room, and everyone lights up. I certainly do.

Thomas: You have to stop talking to me. Please. Look, hope is happy with liam. She has the life that she wants.

"Hope": I wouldn't be here if that were true.

Thomas: I can't-- I can't listen to this anymore. Okay, look, I'm trying to be a better man, a better father to douglas, and someone that hope can admire.

"Hope": Someone... hope can love.

Hope: I'm not naive. Right? I haven't forgotten all of the things that he's done.

Liam: Are you sure?

Hope: How could I not? Some of the most painful moments of my life.

Liam: Okay, but that-- that's exactly why we have to be careful. That's why we have to limit the exposure we have to him. I mean, somebody who can lie like that--I mean, who can let us think that our daughter was dead, who can use his own son to manipulate your emotions. I mean, a personality like that doesn't change overnight. I mean, he could put on a good show. He can act like he's--

Hope: I don't think it's an act, liam. Okay? I've been spending more time with thomas, and--

Liam: Yeah. That's-that's your problem right there.

Hope: Has he completely gotten rid of all his demons? No. Probably not. Okay? That's going to take even more time and even more therapy. But is he making an effort? Is he changing? That is my point.

Liam: I don't know how you do it given all the ways he's hurt us.

Hope: Do you wanna know why? Do you wanna know how? It's douglas. You know, I want him to have a father that he can count on. I want him to have a father that he can believe in, and in order to make that happen, I have to believe in him. And it gets a little confusing at times when you sit there and you thank me for being so understanding of you spending time with kelly, and yet you turn around and lash out at thomas and order him to stay away. Douglas needs his father. Thomas needs his son. And it's the same with you and kelly.

Liam: I don't think that's the same, hope.

Hope: All right. Do you even want thomas to get better?

Liam: Ye--yes, for douglas' sake, I do.

Hope: Then strengthening that father-son bond is so important. And I just need you to trust me on that, please. Look, I believe that thomas is working on becoming a better man and working on becoming a better father, and deep down, honestly, I think he really is.

Liam: Okay--[ Laughs ] What was I just saying about us never fighting?

Hope: Are we?

Liam: No. I don't--I don'T... want to. I'm just... trying to look out for you.

Hope: And I appreciate that, liam. I love that about you. I love that you look out for me, for our family. I mean, I'm protective, too. I'm protective of you. I'm protective of our children, our kids. Your kid, speaking of-- I think kelly is waiting to see her dad, so someone should probably get going.

Liam: [ Sighs ] And talk about it more later?

Hope: Uh, okay. On one condition. That you do not let this ruin your time with kelly. You go. You have fun. You enjoy the beach. And I don't want one second wasted on worrying about thomas. (Phone rings) it's your grandma and grandpa!

[ Cellphone chiming ]

Hope: Hey, thomas. How's it going?

Thomas: Okay. I was just-- I was wondering if, um-- if I could have dinner with douglas tonight. Um, if he hasn't already eaten.

Hope: Are you sure you're okay?

Thomas: Yeah, I'm-I'm fine. Just--I'm-I'm-I'm good. It's just--[ Laughs ] You know, it's kind of lonely over here, um, isolating by myself and all with just me and, um, my thoughts. Um, I could really, really use some time with my son.

Hope: Okay. Sure. Yeah. I'm sure douglas would love that. I'll just drop beth off with mom, and then I'll head over to the apartment.

Thomas: Great. Thank you. Thank you so much.

Hope: Bye.

Steffy: You know kelly's truly exhausted when she falls asleep before even getting past the first page.

Liam: I know. Well, thank you for reminding me about today. I'm actually really glad you wanted me included.

Steffy: Yeah. Of course. I wanted you here. I mean, it was kelly's request. She loves you so much.

Liam: Oh! Oh! I love her, too. My little baby girl. She's growing up too fast. That's the problem. It's like every day I spend away from her, I just-- I don't know. It's hard. You know. You know.

Steffy: I know.

Liam: [ Clears throat ] She is the best of both of us, though. I mean, she proves that more and more every day. And her beauty and her intellect, she gets from you. And her... infantile, potty-mouthed humor, she gets from me.

Steffy: Yeah. Yeah, she definitely has your humor. Let's hope she doesn't make that into a career.

Liam: Yeah. Well, knock on wood. [ Taps table ] She's got the fashion industry as a plan B. And with a mom like you, she's gonna have a chance. I say that, but the truth is I would be so supportive of whatever she wants to do. I don't care. Whatever her passion is. Whatever she wants, I'm behind her.

Steffy: You're a good dad.

Liam: Hmm.

Steffy: To both your girls. I know you've been playing with kelly for a while. I'm sure you're ready to get home to beth. So I don't wanna-- I don't wanna keep you. I'm sure, uh, douglas, hope, and beth are really missing you.

Liam: Yeah. Probably.

Steffy: Are you okay? Something wrong?

Liam: No. Yeah. Maybe. I don't--I don't know. You mentioned douglas, and then suddenly I start thinking about thomas again. I know he's your brother. I'm not trying to-- I'm still worried. I'm worried that thomas is getting in hope's head. I'm worried that he's convincing her that he's this new man. And I know that you believe that's true, too, but I just-- I can't-- I can't-- I don't think it's possible. Guys like thomas, they don't change overnight.

Thomas: It's so good to see you, sport.

Douglas: You, too. I was super excited when mommy said we were coming over.

Thomas: Well, thanks for bringing him. It's just what I needed.

Hope: Good. I am glad that this worked out.

Douglas: Daddy, what's in the box?

Thomas: Oh. Uh, yeah. I--[ Laughs ] I realized you didn't have so many toys over here yet, so, uh, I went on a little shopping spree. I got you some trucks. I got you a football. There's some puzzles in there. Um, yeah, I just wanted you to--to have fun. Uh, I really can't thank you enough.

Hope: It's no problem. Really.

Thomas: He really wanted to come and see me? Like, you didn't have to convince him? No convincing needed.& He wants to spend time with you. Well, I want you to know how much I value my time with him and how much I value you.

Douglas: Mommy, can you help me put this together?

Hope: Sure. What do you got there?

Douglas: A robotic hand.

Hope: That's so cool.

Thomas: No, don'T.

"Hope": Hope should know how you really feel.

Hope: You have enough string?

"Hope": This is a better family for her. With you and douglas. Tell her she's the one for you. The only one. The only one.
