Episode #8348 ~ Brooke is blindsided when she realizes that there is yet another obstacle that she and Ridge must face; Katie is stunned when she overhears the explosive end of Bill's conversation with Quinn.

Bill: You don't know that.

Quinn: I saw it with my own eyes. I mean, I didn't actually-- I didn't see...them with my own eyes. I just--I saw him lead her upstairs.

Bill: Yeah, probably to, uh, tell her that their joke of a marriage was over.

Quinn: No, no, I didn't get that feeling at all. I could--I could literally feel the heat from where I was standing.

Bill: From where you were spying?

Quinn: I wasn't spying. I was standing in my living room watching them.

Bill: All right, look, your theory just doesn't hold water. Brooke told me herself that forrester was going to shauna with annulment papers.

Quinn: Well, all I can tell you is when he got home, he was definitely distraught over something.

Bill: So you're saying that he and brooke got into it.

Quinn: [ Chuckles ] I don't know. Seems that way to me.

Bill: Well, something would have had to happen after I left brooke's place. Did forrester overhear something?

Quinn: Overhear what?

Brooke: Ridge.

Ridge: Logan.

Brooke: Why is she here? Why is she on your bed? What's going on with the two of you?

[ Gasps ] I forgave you. We were going to move on with our lives, and now this?

Quinn: Brooke actually said that to you? That she'll always love you?

Bill: As in a, uh, you know, friend sort of way.

Quinn: You two don't have what I would call a typical friendship.

Bill: She meant that she'd always care about me, quinn. That's it.

Quinn: Even after you confessed your feelings to her? Put your tiny heart out on the line?

Bill: [ Sighs ] A rarity for me, but yes. A perfect 10 on the idiot meter listening to you.

Quinn: Okay, but what if brooke actually did mean what she said, you know, that she still does have the hots for you? 'Cause I saw that video of the two of you making out with each other. It wasn't like two friends high-fiving each other.

Bill: Okay, quinn, would you give it a freaking rest? I'm not gonna sit here and analyz this with you.

Quinn: Okay, well, wait one second. So what if ridge was actually there listening to her tell you all her feelings? I mean, right there in their living room? Ridge would've gone ballistic.

Bill: Yeah, he would've gone ballistic, but he wasn't there.

Quinn: How do you know?

Bill: Because brooke said he left.

Quinn: [ Scoffs ] Maybe she was mistaken.

Brooke: Tell me, ridge. Tell me what's going on here.

Ridge: I need to speak to brooke alone. Do you mind?

Shauna: No, that's fine. I'll leave.

Brooke: Well?

[ Sighs ] Please tell me it's not what it looks like. Please, ridge. I don't understand. What happened here? We were so happy a few hours ago. We were going to move on with our lives, and you're coming here to give shauna the annulment papers for her to sign. And yet, you never came back home, so I got worried. I drove over here, and I find this? Shauna in your bed? Why? Why, ridge?

[Radio playing]

Quinn: Ridge had to have been eavesdropping. I mean, maybe he was home the entire time.

Bill: Look, ridge is many things, none of them good. But he ain't you, all right? He's not some--some creeper who hangs around, lurking in the shadows. Anyway, brooke said he was gone.

Quinn: But what if he wasn't? I mean, maybe she just didn't see him, you know? I mean, it--it--it makes perfect sense.

Bill: Ridge is the most notorious flip-flopper, but brooke was crystal clear. They repaired their relationship.

Quinn: [ Sighs ] Come on, bill. Use your head! I mean, can you imagine how ridge would feel if he saw you standing in his living room, professing your undying love to brooke, and in turn, hearing her say back that she will always love you? Ridge had to hear all of that. It's the only explanation.

Bill: Katie. Hi.

Quinn: Oh! Hey, katie. Anyway...okay. Well, um... I am just gonna go, leave the two of you alone. I'm sure you have a lot to chat about. Um, oh, nice dress, by the way, katie. Okay.

[ Door closes ]

Bill: I'm happy to see you. I've been calling and texting.

Katie: You told my sister that you love her?

Ridge: You told me you have no feelings for spencer.

Brooke: I don'T.

Ridge: You expect me to believe that?

Brooke: Why are we even talking about bill?

Ridge: Because I heard you!

Brooke: Heard what?

Ridge: I heard everything, all of it.

Brooke: Look, if--if you're thinking that maybe something--

Ridge: What are you trying to do? You think you can talk your way out of this? You can'T.

Brooke: I don't know what you're talking about.

Ridge: Okay, you don't? Let's recap. I came here because I wanted shauna to sign the annulment papers because you were gracious enough to forgive my one drunken night in vegas. And I forgave you. I forgave your kiss with bill, even though... all the things he's done to me, he's done to my family, the things he's done to my daughter.

Brooke: Ridge, I understand--

Ridge: I'm not finished! I came to your house, and we talked, and it was so nice. And I wanted--I wanted to show you how happy I was. I went... I went to my car and I said, no. I just gotta--I gotta do a little something. I came back. I didn't know where you were,- and I just wanted to leave you a little note, a little something on your bed. So I wrote you something, and I left a flower, and that's when I heard bill downstairs.

Brooke: Oh, okay, so you... you knew he was there.

Ridge: Yeah.

Brooke: But--

Ridge: And I heard your conversation.

Brooke: Well, I didn't invite him over. He just came over, and... [ Sighs ] I-I can't control what he does or says, ridge. He found out that you filed our divorce papers and that you married shauna in vegas, and he wanted me to... forget about you.

Ridge: Is that all he said to you? No, that's not all he said. He said he loves you, and you will always be the one for him.

Brooke: Okay, right, yes. He did say that, and I know how that would make you feel, given how much you hate bill, but I'm not responsible for his feelings.

Ridge: No, but you are responsible for the words coming out of your mouth.

Brooke: What do you mean? . . . . .. . Tums versus mozzarella stick

Katie: You went over to brooke's, and you poured your heart out. So the kiss in the cabin wasn't enough, huh?

Bill: Katie...

Katie: That is what I heard quinn say just now unless she was lying, she was making the whole thing up?

Bill: No. But you're making it sound... you're making it sound simpler than it is.

Katie: Well, it's pretty simple. Either you told brooke that you love her or you didn'T.

[ Huffs ] Wow.

Bill: I've been reaching out to you. I've been calling you. I've--I've been texting you, and you haven't responded. It's like you haven't wanted to work this out.

Katie: Because I wasn't ready. I needed time, bill, to figure out what it was I wanted, what I wanted for our son. So I came here tonight to-- to try to see if we could move forward and put our family back together and--and give our child both of his parents. And... [ Scoffs ] God help me. I...I missed you.

Bill: Katie... I've missed you.

Katie: [ Scoffs ] You've gotten really good at saying that with a straight face.

Bill: Because it's true. I feel terrible that I've hurt you.

Katie: Yet you--you do it over and over again. You know, I thought that maybe I could move past what happened with you and brooke, try to put our lives back together again. But the problem is always there, and the problem is, is that you don't want me. You want my sister.

Quinn: Shauna.

Shauna: Hi.

Quinn: What are you doing down here in the dark? Where's ridge?

Shauna: Upstairs.

Quinn: Why? What happened? I mean, I-I saw when he came in earlier, and the way he looked at you, the way you two floated up the stairs together, it was like a fairy tale.

Shauna: Felt that way, too.

Quinn: Then why are you sitting here? You're still in the same dress. The night is young. Grab a bottle of wine and go back up there. Don't leave ridge alone.

Shauna: He's not alone. He's with brooke.

Brooke: I'm so confused. Really, I-I don't know what you're getting at.

Ridge: What are you confused about?

Brooke: [ Sighs ]

Ridge: We had a long conversation about what a piece of garbage that guy is and what he's done to my family.

Brooke: I understand, ridge, and when he came over, I told him not to badmouth you. I told him that we are looking forward to a future together, that you and I were recommitting ourselves to each other. But that doesn't explain why you have shauna in your bed.

Ridge: You put a knife in me! You destroyed me. How do you not see that?

Brooke: What did I do? Really, please, tell me.

Ridge: You told me he meant nothing to you.

Brooke: He doesn'T. I don't want bill. I want you, ridge.

Ridge: I want you, too, logan.

Brooke: Okay, well, then I don't understand why I came over here, and I find you and shauna--

Ridge: How? How? How could you say those words to him? How could you say that you loved him? How could you say that you would always love him? This is my body of proof.

Katie: It's always brooke. She's been the third wheel in our relationship from the very beginning and...tired of it.

Bill: I don't blame you. And I'm--I'm sorry.

Katie: Don't say you're sorry again, please. Just don'T.

Bill: But i am sorry.

Katie: I know. You feel bad but not bad enough to control yourself. I just, I keep trying to figure it out, but what she does for you that I can't--

Bill: Katie, it just--

Katie: And I just-- I don't get it. I don'T. I mean, you--you share a kiss, and you both swear up and down that it just happened and that it didn't mean anything but clearly it did if you're telling her that you love her.

Bill: But it did just happen. It was spur of the moment. I'm not lying about that. But you're right. There's no excuse.

Katie: I honestly don't know how I feel anymore. Just numb. Just the same disappointment over and over again.

Bill: We've been so much more than that, katie.

Katie: Yeah, we were. And we have beautiful memories together, and we have a beautiful son. I wanted so badly to come here tonight and try and give us another chance, but... I can't do that. I can't let you break my heart again.

Quinn: Brooke is upstairs with ridge?

Shauna: Yep.

Quinn: Does that woman ever give up? I mean, does she enjoy torturing herself?

Shauna: I don't know what she's thinking.

Quinn: This isn't even her house. She doesn't get to just barge in here.

Shauna: Oh, well, she certainly barged in at the right time.

Quinn: No, you guys weren't in the middle of--

Shauna: No, thank god, but I was sitting on top of his bed.

Quinn: Get out.

Shauna: Yes, and ridge was coming out of the bathroom.

Quinn: No way. This is fantastic.

Shauna: Well, it certainly wasn't how I thought the night was gonna go.

Quinn: Okay, so bitter brooke barges in. She becomes a total buzzkill. Tell me more.

Shauna: [ Laughs ] You are too much. It's nice to see that someone is getting a kick out of this.

Quinn: You kidding me? This is the best. Brooke's had this coming for decades.

Shauna: Well, she's pretty upset.

Quinn: Don't you feel badly for brooke. I don'T.

Shauna: Make no mistake. I-I welcome the end of their relationship, but I feel bad for ridge. This can't be easy on him.

Brooke: What do you mean, I told bill I love him? I never said that.

Ridge: Yes, you did. You absolutely did. I can't get it out of my head.

Bill: I love you, brooke.

Brooke: And part of me will always love you. I will love you for the rest of my life. Okay, yeah, maybe I said something like that.

Ridge: Why?

Brooke: Because... I was married to him, and I mean, I don't love him the way I love you, of course. I love you deeply. That was just an expression.

Ridge: It was what? What did you say?

Brooke: An expression.

Ridge: An expression, okay.

Brooke: I mean, I spent time with him, ridge. I-I was fond of him, and I'm sure you feel the same way about taylor.

Ridge: The mother of my children? It's a little different, don't you think?

Brooke: Well, it's kind of the same. I was married to bill, and I was married to eric, and I was fond of both of them. I still have nice memories. They were very important to me at different times in my life. That's all I was getting at. And yes, when bill came over, I told him he should leave and that you'd be very upset that he was there. That's all it was, ridge, I promise you. You've gotta believe me. God. [ Sighs ] I-I can't believe this. We can't keep doing this. We can't let shauna and bill come between us like this. This is ridiculous. We were happy, ridge. We agreed to move on with our lives together. We are gonna build a wonderful future. And now this? Now that doesn't make sense. I mean, we have to fight. We have to fight for our relationship. And I'm sorry. I am so sorry that you were hurt about what I said to bill. And I'm sorry that you felt you had to turn to shauna because I certainly don't want you to do that. You know that. This--this isn't the end for us, I can promise you. It's not. It can't be.
