Episode #7858 ~ Emma pays a visit to a family member who urges her to keep their connection a secret from the Forresters; Ridge and Brooke become frustrated when each defends their daughter to the other.

Ridge: Hey. But I can't believe it. She is even prettier than the last time I saw her. How is that possible? And how are you happier than the last time I saw you? Maybe you're just tired. You need to get some sleep, huh?

Steffy: Oh, yeah.

Ridge: I'm here. I can take over. I can take care of her.

Steffy: No, no, no, no, no.

Ridge: I am experienced.

Steffy: Make it a standing offer and I promise to take you up on it. Not right now. I don't want to miss a moment.

Ridge: I get that. You waited a long time to be a mom.

Steffy: Yeah. Yeah, a long time. Now here we are. Kelly, liam, and me. We're a family.

Ridge: What are you -- what are you saying?

Steffy: Dad, he's coming home.

Brooke: Here you go, honey. This will make you feel better.

Hope: You always say that.

Brooke: Well, it's true. Tea is very comforting.

Hope: It's gonna take a lot more than tea to fix me.

Brooke: Okay. Well, you got to start somewhere. You've been through a lot, and you need self-care right now.

Hope: Or maybe I focus on hope for the future. You know, I got so caught up in the wedding, I kind of let the entire line slide.

Brooke: Honey, it's okay. Everybody will understand. You really need to concentrate on taking care of yourself. So start with this. Drink up. It's good for you. Mommy knows best.

Thorne: My instinct tells me more edge, but it's not my line, so I don't want to push it.

Maya: I think your instincts are right. It's in line with hope's message and her vision. It's not too edgy. It's empowering. I like it.

Pam: I got to say, I think you've been great, thorne. The way you've stepped up while hope's been away.

Thorne: Well, I'm happy to help. It's been a crazy time for her.

Pam: [ Huffs ] Highest high to the lowest low.

Maya: [ Sighs ] Yeah. At least she has work to fall back on, you know?

Pam: Yeah.

Maya: Speaking of which, I asked emma to check in here when she got here.

Thorne: Who's emma?

Pam: [ Scoffs, snorts ] Thorne! The new intern.

Thorne: Right.

Pam: [ Laughs ]

Maya: Yeah. So where is she?

Justin: Oh, it sure is good to see you here.

Emma: I wasn't sure.

Justin: Why? Because I wasn't available? Oh, I'm -- I'm sorry about that. I'm the number-two guy. When bill goes out of town like this, I have to step up. So, how's the internship?

Emma: Amazing. I'm learning so much. And it's so fun.

Justin: So the forresters are treating you right?

Emma: They're incredible. So kind and generous.

Justin: They still don't know that you're a barber?

Emma: No idea you're my uncle.

Justin: Ah! [ Laughs ] Good, good. Let's keep it that way. I may have been married to donna, but that doesn't count in my favor anymore. My name there is, uh, not too good.

Emma: Is there some weird history I should know about you and the forresters?

Justin: Well, not so much that. It's my association with bill.

Emmy: The research you asked for.

Justin: Ah, yes. You can put it on my desk, please. Thank you.

Emmy: And who's this pretty young lady?

Justin: [ Chuckles ] This is my niece. Emma, meet emmy.

Emma: Seriously?

Justin: Yeah.

Emmy: We have the same name. Well, almost.

Emma: [ Laughs ]

Justin: That's why I hired you. You reminded me of my niece.

Emmy: Well, actually, you didn't hire me. Mr. Spencer did.

Justin: Whose desk are you on?

Emmy: Well, who's lucky to have me here?

Justin: Oh. [ Chuckles ] Okay.

Emmy: So, what brings you by?

Emma: Stopped in for a quick visit.

Justin: Emma is interning at forrester.

Emmy: How exciting!

Emma: It is.

Emmy: Well, I wish you the best of luck, and it's nice to meet you.

Emma: You too.

Justin: Yeah, she's something else.

Emma: [ Laughs ]

Justin: So, tell me. What do you like best about working at forrester?

Emma: Obviously being around hope. I've idolized her for years.

[ Chuckles ] Respect her so much.

Justin: Ah.

[ Cellphone chimes ]

Emma: I should get over there.

Justin: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Before you run off so fast, there's one more question I would like to ask.

Maya: Should one of us call hope? Casually check in?

Thorne: I don't think so. Might read as pressure.

Maya: [ Sighs ] One moment, and her whole world changes. Instead of being liam's new wife, she has to watch him go back to steffy.

Thorne: Yeah, well, now that the baby's here.

Pam: That's where the focus needs to be now -- on that little girl.

Maya: Well, as a mom, i couldn't agree more. Kelly has to come first.

Thorne: Despite her love for liam, I'm sure that hope agrees.

Hope: I feel split in two. I mean, he must be thrilled. His little girl is finally here. But I was so looking forward to being a part of it. You know, liam's wife, kelly's stepmom.

Brooke: I'm sorry, honey.

Hope: Well, now steffy has it all -- liam. The child. When do I get to be that lucky?

Ridge: You're serious? I know you were hopeful when liam spent the night, but he's -- where is he?

Steffy: Oh, uh, he -- he went to pick up some supplies for our early arriver.

Ridge: Well, he's gonna do a lot of that. I ca-- I can't believe this.

Steffy: I know. I know.

Ridge: [ Stammers ] I can. I can believe it. You guys, you are together?

Steffy: Yeah. Yeah, we really are. He said it's a new beginning for us, and he wants us to be a family in every sense of the word. We're gonna make it work this time.

Ridge: Yes, you are. Come on.

Steffy: [ Laughs ]

Ridge: I am so happy for you!

Emma: What's this burning question that's keeping me late for my internship?

Justin: Ha! Well, you know I have the responsibility of looking out for you, being that I'm your uncle and all. You're so talented. Look at you. So, have you been keeping up with your dancing?

Emma: [ Laughs ] No worries. I'm still taking classes. You know, I feel most alive when I'm dancing.

Justin: Oh. So, what exactly do you do over at forrester, anyway?

Intern stuff. But I have been assigned to the hope for the future re-launch!

Justin: Get out! That's big.

Emma: Very.

Justin: Yeah.

Emma: And a huge learning opportunity. Just being around hope, watching her work. She's inspirational.

Justin: Yeah. Do me a favor. You stand out, all right? You make a name for yourself. I don't care if that's being first to get coffee orders or come up with the next big idea that just sweeps the fashion world. You hear me?

Emma: I'm working on it.

Justin: All right. All right.

Emmy: Your conference call is about to start.

Justin: Thank you, emmy.

Emma: And I really do have to go.

Justin: Okay. Can you at least give me a hug? You growing up! Oooh! You're so talented and beautiful and smart. Girl, you are gonna do big things over at forrester. And I am all the way here for it.

Steffy: What liam and I did, bringing this baby into this world -- I mean, I-I don't -- I know I don't need to explain it to you, but it just...

Ridge: No, there's nothing like it.

Steffy: Yeah. I just wanted to have a happy, healthy baby. I didn't want to think about, you know, the past indiscretions or any of that drama. And now she's here. I have a little girl. [ Laughs ] And we're gonna be a family again. He's coming home to me. He found forgiveness in -- in our baby's eyes. I know he's never gonna leave me again.

Ridge: You look happy, finally.

Steffy: I am. Yeah, I'M... I'm excited, and I'm really exhausted at the same time.

Ridge: [ Chuckles ]

Steffy: I appreciate these moments of peace and quiet, that's for sure.

[ Kelly cries ] Ah, I spoke too soon.

[ Ridge laughs ] Oh, look at her. I'm gonna check on her.

Ridge: Do your thing, mom.

Steffy: Oh, I will.

Hope: We came so close this time. I was literally minutes away from being liam's wife.

Brooke: I still can't believe wyatt interrupted the ceremony like that.

Hope: Yeah, well, I should have known it had something to do with bill. Doesn't it always?

Brooke: Oh, honey. I'm just so angry with him. I mean, what he did was unspeakable -- to you and to liam, steffy, and wyatt. Because of him, my daughter is heartbroken again.

Hope: I'll be fine.

Brooke: "Fine"? You should be more than fine. You should be deliriously happy, and you should be with the man that you love. I just wish wyatt waited just a little bit longer, till you said your vows and you were married, and then you and liam could deal with bill's lie as husband and wife.

Hope: Look, I don't blame wyatt for telling the truth. I blame bill and his horrible manipulation. If it weren't for him and his meddling, I wouldn't be heartbroken right now.

Brooke: [ Sighs ] Oh, god.

Ridge: Hey. You got her down that quickly? You're already a champ at this.

Steffy: I'm pretty sure I just got lucky.

Ridge: I really love this, watching you be a mom.

Steffy: Oh, yeah. Especially since I have no idea what I'm doing.

Ridge: No one does. You've just got to learn from your mistakes. Let me ask you something. Let me ask you about this. 'Cause that looks like you're the only two people in the world.

Steffy: Yeah, that's why -- that's why I chose it. So kelly could feel liam's presence even when he's not here, and see the love between us. But now that we're a family, it's just -- it's just a regular picture on the wall.

Ridge: You got your life back, finally. I'm happy for you.

Maya: You've been, uh, spending a lot of time with that sketch pad, thorne. You ever take a break?

Thorne: Not when inspiration's flowing and deadlines loom. Got to ride the wave.

Maya: Oh! She has arrived.

Pam: Emma! Where have you been?

Emma: I...had a stop to make. Took longer than I thought.

Pam: During business hours, we need to know your whereabouts at all times. Got it?

Emma: I'm sorry.

Thorne: You didn't happen to see hope on your way in, did you?

Emma: No.

Thorne: I wanted to talk to her about the dress rehearsal before the preview. Just wondering if she's coming in today.

Hope: I can't do this.

Brooke: What, honey?

Hope: Sit here. Being sad. I-I have a purpose. I have a line. I have a team. People depending on me.

Brooke: Oh, okay. Well, are you sure? It's okay to take a few mental-health days. Work will always be there.

Hope: No. I can't afford to lose any more time. And besides, it will be a welcome distraction.

Brooke: Okay. Whatever you think you need.

Hope: [ Sighs ] Can I tell you how much you mean to me?

Brooke: Sure. Go for it.

[ Laughs ]

Hope: You are not only the best mother, but you have become my best friend. You know, you're my safe place i go where I'm never judged or diminished, and you give me unconditional love and acceptance, and I am so grateful, because not everyone gets to have that. So, yes. Sure. I am hurt. I am disappointed yet again. But knowing that I have you in my corner, that I have you to turn to, it makes it so much easier on me.

Brooke: Oh, honey. I love you so much.

Hope: I love you, too.

> Brooke: You know that.

Hope: [ Sighs ] Okay. So, now I'm going to go to work. Do you want to come with?

Brooke: Oh, uh, I-I'd love to, but I think, um... heh. ...I'd better wait for ridge.

Ridge: Hey.

Brooke: Oh. There you are. Where'd you go?

Hope: The beach house?

Ridge: Yeah. [ Sighs ] I wanted to check on steffy and kelly.

Brooke: How are they?

Ridge: Steffy's exhausted, but she's riding that mom-for-the-first-time high.

Hope: So, liam was there?

Ridge: No. He was running errands.

Hope: And they're definitely back together?

Ridge: Yes, they are.

Hope: It's how it has to be.

Ridge: You support that?

Hope: Liam and steffy have to do what's best for their child. And growing up in a stable family with two loving parents, it doesn't get better than that. So yes. I support them.

Ridge: Wow. You -- you are a remarkable young woman.

Brooke: Yes, she is. I'm so proud of you, sweetheart.

Hope: Yeah, well, thank you. But it is time for me to go be remarkable at work.

Brooke: Okay.

Thorne: If we're gonna do this dress rehearsal, we've got to get on it.

Maya: Yeah, we are definitely running out of time.

Emma: Is there any pre-prep I can do?

Thorne: I'd rather wait for hope's input if we can.

Maya: And if she's not available?

Thorne: We may have to delay the launch.

Maya: Okay, well, I can call and check on her.

Hope: That won't be necessary.

Thorne: Hey! You're here.

Maya: Oh, hey!

Pam: Wow. Can I get you anything?

Maya: You all right?

Emma: It's good to see you.

Hope: Thank you, but I-I'm fine. And consider me officially back.

Maya: Are you sure you're ready?

Thorne: Yeah, 'cause if you need more time, we got this.

Hope: For what? Just being sad in my bedroom? No. Mnh-mnh.

Emma: Does that mean liam and steffy are back together?

Pam: Emma!

Hope: Uh, no, no. It's okay. It's okay. Liam is where he needs to be. And thank you all, seriously, for stepping in.

Maya: Of course. We just want to make sure that you are okay.

Hope: Yeah. I mean, I am. It's not perfect. It's been a pretty crazy few weeks. Some of the happiest and saddest days of my life. But that's life. And I'm ready.

Thorne: Great.

Pam: Just remember, we've always got your back.

Hope: Thank you. But I don't think I will need any propping up. I'm healthy. I'm strong. I have my friends and family here. And most importantly, I have a mission. That is why I created hope for the future. My personal disappointments are nothing compared to the problems facing the world, and that is what I'm going to devote all my time and energy to. And I will need each and every one of you here, collective, as a team.

Maya: All right. We're right here.

Pam: Okay.

Thorne: Welcome back.

Hope: Thank you.

Ridge: I love hope. You need to realize that.

Brooke: Yeah. I-I do.

Ridge: I-I want her to be happy, too.

Brooke: But not at steffy's expense.

Ridge: This has nothing to do with steffy. This is about liam. He made the decision to put his family together and make a commitment. And he's not leaving again. You need to encourage your daughter to move on, not wait here for the wind to change.

Brooke: I'm tired of seeing her get hurt all the time.

Ridge: I understand that.

Brooke: It's really not fair.

Ridge: Okay.

Brooke: She should have been with liam. He chose her. They should have been together all these years. In fact, that baby should be theirs.

Ridge: Well, it's not theirs.

Brooke: Because --

Ridge: It didn't work out that way.

Brooke: ...Of steffy and bill's constant interference!

Ridge: Okay. Fine. Maybe you're right. But this is where we are. And hope needs to move on. She needs to hear it from you. Is that what you're telling her?

Brooke: No, not exactly.

Ridge: Logan, what are you doing?

Brooke: I just -- I've been telling her to follow her heart, to -- to have the faith, to

[Sighs] Go after what she wants.

Ridge: Mm. And why would you do that?

Brooke: Because look at us, ridge. I mean, I want her to be happy. You and I did it, and here we are today.

[ Sighs ] Oh, god. Okay. Okay. Heh. Okay. Liam, steffy, kelly, they are a family, and we're gonna have to respect that. All right? I-I don't have to like it, though.

[ Sighs ]

Ridge: What about this? You like that?

Brooke: She's beautiful.

Ridge: Yeah. Look. Mother and daughter. They're gonna grow up together, and they -- they're gonna be best friends just like you and hope. I know you don't want to wish any ill will on these guys, right?

Brooke: No. I don'T.

Ridge: Okay. So we're okay? I love you.

Brooke: [ Inhales deeply ] Ohh! [ Sighs ] I love you.

Ridge: Come here.

Brooke: [ Giggles ]
