Deacon: I don't get it. Why didn't you push him?

Quinn: I couldn't.

Deacon: Did you change your mind?

Quinn: No, no, it has to happen just like I said, but the timing wasn't right.

Deacon: Why not?

Quinn: Because I -- there are people down there, and I-I couldn't risk it.

Deacon: I don't see any people down there.

Quinn: Right there!

Deacon: [Scoffs] What people? [Screams] [Screaming]

Quinn: [Breathing heavily]

[Birds chirping]

[Cell phone chimes]

Ridge: All right. Another text from your mothers.

Caroline: Oh. Let me guess. They want more pics and videos.

Ridge: They can't get enough of this little kid, huh?

Caroline: I mean, they just left here last night.

Ridge: [Chuckles] I got a feeling this is just the beginning of them wanting information every five minutes and spoiling that kid every chance they get.

Caroline: Well, once we're done spoiling him, which will be never, so... what?

Ridge: Oh, I just... I wish his other grandmother was here, as well.

Caroline: She is.

Ridge: Yeah. She was all about family, you know. Nothing else mattered, really.

Caroline: We're gonna tell our son all about her. And she's gonna be a part of his life.

Ridge: [Sighs] There's one, uh, very important thing we got to do still.

Caroline: Yeah, a name. [Chuckles]

Ridge: Now, I've been thinking about a lot of names, but I keep coming back to one, and I kind of hope you'll like it, too.

Caroline: Okay. Let's hear it.

Ridge: Douglas.

Caroline: Douglas. As in Stephanie Douglas Forrester.

Ridge: Mm-hmm.

Caroline: Devoted wife of Eric, loving mother of Ridge and all of his siblings. That's quite the role model.

Ridge: She was. She was to me. She was always there, you know, present and steady, fearless, protecting the ones she loved. And I thought, you know, if we call him Douglas, then even if she can't be here physically, she'd always be in his life, looking after our little boy.

Caroline: I love it.

Ridge: Really?

Caroline: Yeah. I think our son does, too. Don't you, Douglas? [Chuckles]

[Waves crashing]

Liam: [Exhales deeply] [Gasps]

Quinn: [Gasps]

Liam: You okay?! I -- you were supposed to wait for me to get -- here, here. Take it.

Quinn: [Breathing heavily]

Liam: Hey. You okay? What happened?

[Waves crashing]

Liam: Eve. Hey. Use this.

Quinn: Oh.

Liam: Come on. Go, go.

[Air hisses]

Liam: Is that better?

Quinn: Yeah.

Liam: God. For a minute there... okay, we're getting you to a doctor right now.

Quinn: No, no, no! I am fine now. I can finally breathe. Can we, um... can we just get back to the car? I-I think we've both had enough for one day.

Liam: Yeah.

Quinn: Yeah?

Liam: Yeah.

[Cell phone chimes]

Caroline: Oh. That's not another text from my mothers, is it?

Ridge: Uh, no. It's Pam congratulating us once again and telling me and reminding me that the work is piling up on my desk.

Caroline: Well, what about Forrester Creations' amazing parental leave? I mean, if anyone should avail themselves, it's the CEO.

Ridge: No, you're right. But I'm concerned that, uh, Rick might step in and want to take over. Shh. Oh, it's okay.

Caroline: Wait, really? Are you really worried?

Ridge: I just don't want to give him that opportunity.

Caroline: Yeah, but he and Maya are about to have a little munchkie of their own soon, and his focus will change.

Ridge: Yeah. Babies have a way of doing that, huh?

Caroline: Yeah. They have a way of bringing people and families together.

Ridge: Well, there is one very important thing we can do now that the baby has a name.

Caroline: Yeah, that's right.

Ridge: Oh, my goodness.

Caroline: [Gasps] Oh, this is exciting.

Ridge: I think pretty much everything's in there, right? Just needs --

Caroline: Just the name --

Ridge: Douglas' name and we got to sign it. Is that it? Hi.

[Door opens]

Caroline: All right, Daddy. It's all you now.

Ridge: Okay.

Caroline: Your turn.

Thomas: Dad's turn for what? What's going on?

Quinn: [Sighs] I'm gonna go take a shower.

Liam: Right now?

Quinn: Uh... yeah, yeah, I just -- I want to clean up, you know, change out of these clothes. Why don't you go pour us a couple glasses of wine? I won't -- I won't be long.

Liam: Yeah, okay. Are you all right?

Quinn: Yeah. Yeah, I'm just -- I'm just a little wiped out. Asthma attacks, they can -- [Clears throat] They can do that to you.

Liam: Have you always had asthma, or is --

Quinn: Yeah. Ever since I was a little girl. I-I just -- I haven't had an attack in a really long time.

Liam: It's got to be scary, struggling to breathe like that.

Quinn: Yeah, I just -- I don't know. I don't -- I don't -- I don't want to -- I don't want to think about it.

Liam: Yeah, no, I'm sorry. And I'm sorry I wasn't more help today.

Quinn: You ran to get my inhaler.

Liam: Yeah, but, you know, I also -- I also left you alone, so who knows what could have happened while I was gone, you know.

Deacon: [Screams]

[Wilhelm scream]

Quinn: I did what I had to do. I mean... I mean, you did -- you did what you had to do, and I don't want to think about -- I don't want to talk about it, okay, anymore. I don't.

Liam: Eve, what's wrong? Really, what's wrong?

Quinn: No, no. I don't know. Maybe I'm just feeling -- I don't know. I... emotional, maybe. I just -- I don't -- I don't want to lose you.

Liam: Me? Is this about your friend that you were telling me about, the one who's -- who's dying? Because you're not -- [Chuckles] You're not gonna lose me. You're not. I'm -- I'm your husband. We're married, you know? "I, Adam, take you, Eve, to be my lawfully wedded wife." That's not changing. I'm not going anywhere. I'm yours, okay? Now and always.

Ridge: Shouldn't you be at work by now?

Thomas: Oh, yeah, well, boss and his wife just had a baby, so who's gonna know if I show up a little late. You know what I mean? Unless, wait, you guys aren't gonna rat me out, are you?

Caroline: Not as long as you tell us what's behind your back.

Thomas: Ah, it is a gift for the little guy from his big bro. I got the idea from Grandma. She made the same thing for Dad when he was born.

Caroline: [Gasps]

Thomas: What do you think?

Caroline: [Laughs]

Ridge: That's cute.

Thomas: Like father, like son, right?

Ridge: That's very thoughtful. Thank you.

Caroline: Oh, it's more than thoughtful. It's our little one's first keepsake. It's very kind.

Thomas: Well, I got the feeling that you guys were in the middle of somethin so...

Ridge: We're, uh, filling in the birth certificate.

Caroline: Yeah. Our midwife left it for us, but since we hadn't chosen a name...

Thomas: Wait. So does that mean that you guys have a name? Oh, come on. You guys have to tell me. I-I need to know this.

Ridge: It's Douglas, after your grandmother.

Caroline: It was Ridge's idea. But we really like it, don't we, little nugget?

Thomas: Well, for what it's worth, I think it's perfect. You nailed it, Dad. Do you mind if -- if I, uh... hey, Douglas. I'm so happy that you're finally here. You know that?

Caroline: [Chuckles]

Thomas: You finally have a name, which suits you to a "T," by the way. Welcome to the family, little bro.

Quinn: What are you doing?

Liam: I'm learning about asthma. In case you have another attack, I don't want to feel so -- so helpless next time.

Quinn: [Sighing] Oh. There won't be a next time.

Liam: I was just reading about the number of -- of premature deaths each year because of asthma. Did you know almost all are avoidable?

Quinn: Can we please stop talking about dying?

Liam: Yeah, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you.

Quinn: No, no, it's -- it's okay. I-I know -- I know you're -- you're just looking out for me.

Liam: Well, yeah. The same way that you look out for me. Hey, are you -- why don't we get you some food? Are -- are you hungry? What do you want?

Quinn: I just want to be her again.

Liam: What?

Quinn: The woman I was becoming because of you. [Sighs] You -- you have made me such a better person since the first time you ever kissed me.

Liam: I wish I could remember the first time I ever kissed you.

Quinn: So much happens that's not in our control.

Liam: Yeah, like memory loss.

Quinn: That's life, right? Isn't it? I mean, you know, things -- things just happen, and life goes and it's all predictable and --

Liam: Well, actually, if the photos you showed me are any indication, I don't know how predictable our life was. Right?

Quinn: Maybe it's a good idea that you don't remember, at least where I'm concerned.

Liam: Okay, see? That right there. Why -- why would you say something like that?

Quinn: I've just -- I've just... I've done a lot of things that I'm not proud of.

Liam: So? So what? I mean, especially after everything you've done for me. I mean, you've -- you've looked out for me, you've taken care of me. You know, not a lot of wives would have hung in there like you did.

Quinn: [Chuckles] Your eyes are so gentle and kind.

Liam: [Chuckles]

Quinn: I don't want to lose you, Adam. I don't want to lose this. And if anyone tried to... I-I can't allow it. I wouldn't. I love you too much.

Thomas: Oh, my God. Check out this little guy. He's gonna be the future of Wimbledon.

Ridge: Could be.

Thomas: I mean, he's gonna be out back on the courts tearing it up before you even know it.

Caroline: Oh, I think we're a little ways off from that.

Thomas: Oh, are you kidding? I mean, Dad had me out before I was even out of diapers, right?

Ridge: I got Thomas this toy tennis racket. He brought it everywhere.

Thomas: Oh, yeah. Mom thought I had this weird unnatural attachment to it, right?

Ridge: She did.

Thomas: [Chuckles] Some of my favorite memories were spent on that court. I'm sure it's gonna be the same for this little munchkin, too. But be warned, huh? Your dad over here has got more moves and tenacity than the rest of us. Well, as much as I hate to say it, I have to go. But, um... you're gonna make our dad proud really quick. Thanks for the face time, guys. Oh, hey, Dad, I know I, uh, interrupted you, but... you might want to sign that. It's not official without the father's signature, right?

Ridge: Let me know what happens in the office. I don't want Rick getting any ideas in my absence.

Thomas: Deal.

[Door opens]

Ridge: You okay?

Caroline: Yeah. You're Douglas' father, and I know that. You -- you always will be. I think just seeing Thomas interact with him...

Ridge: He's gonna do that. Thomas is gonna be here. He lives here. They're gonna have a relationship. But this is our son. And he can never know. No one can ever know. Okay?

Caroline: Okay.

Liam: Okay, okay. What's really going on with you?

Quinn: [Sighs] I just -- I-I don't want anyone or anything to ruin what we have.

Liam: [Chuckles] What? How is that even possible living the way that we do? It's like we're in our own little world here.

Quinn: It's not gonna be like that forever, and I-I-I just -- I just want to make sure that -- that it's...

Liam: You make sure what? What?

Quinn: Maybe we should go someplace else.

Liam: Like -- like leave?

Quinn: Yes. As soon as possible.

Liam: So, you want to take a vacation?

Quinn: No, no, like -- like -- like leave. Leave, you know? Like, start over.

Liam: I don't -- I don't want to do that. I love this house. This house is all I know.

Quinn: What about Alaska? Because Alaska, it's -- there's -- there's so many remote areas, and we could just -- we could start all over again.

Liam: Alask-- I don't -- I don't want to move to the freezing cold.

Quinn: You used to like it.

Liam: I did?

Quinn: [Sighs] Okay. Maybe Alaska's wrong. It's a long drive. I can't risk buying...

Liam: Can't risk? Risk what? What are you -- what are you talking about? I don't understand anything you're saying right now. Do -- you know what? Okay. Okay, I'm sorry. And I don't know. Maybe you do need a break. Maybe you do. All you've been doing is thinking about me and worrying about me, right? And on top of that, you're holding down a full-time job, so I can't even imagine how overwhelming that must be. And if you need a change of scenery, if you think that'll help...

Quinn: No, it's not -- it's not -- it's not -- it's not a change of scenery. I-I-I want to change my life. I want to -- I want to change everything about my life, except for you. You... you're the most important thing in the world to me, Adam, making sure that we spend the rest of our lives together. And I just want to figure out a way to make sure that it happens.

Liam: Eve, Eve, Eve, Eve. There's -- [Chuckles] There's nothing to figure out. Really. I'm as committed to you as you are to me. I mean, you know that, right? You know that. So why are you freaking out?

Quinn: You -- you -- it's just that there -- there are people out there. There are -- there are forces at work, and -- and if anyone threatens to take you away from me --

Liam: Who's saying that? Who's saying that? Take me away from you? That's -- that's not happening, okay? Nobody's taking me away from you. It's gonna be -- it's gonna be fine.

Quinn: Okay. [Voice breaking] Can you hold me?

Liam: Yes. Yes.

Quinn: Can you love me?

Liam: [Chuckles] Of course, I love you.

Quinn: Please don't leave me.

Liam: I...

Quinn: Promise me you're never gonna leave me.

Liam: I-I -- [Chuckles] I promise. You're stuck with me forever.
