Liam: You think it's hilarious, all these jokes you make about you and hope. She's engaged to me, but she... really wants you. I get it. I could see that.

Wyatt: What I think is funny is you.

Liam: Oh, I'm the joke. Oh, I see. Okay. All right. Sure.

Wyatt: It gets under your skin. Why is that, if things are so good?

Liam: I don't know. Maybe because my natural inclination towards people is to treat them with respect, to understand that they have feelings and to go out of my way not to hurt them or belittle them.

Wyatt: Really? 'Cause you seemed to like throwing me out of the house and being so righteous about it.

Liam: Yeah, exactly. When you deserved it.

Wyatt: Right, so I'm the interloper. I'm the baby that mom and dad didn't want to bring home from the hospital, wrecking your great arrangement with you being dollar bill's grown-up dollar prince...

Liam: [Chuckles]

Wyatt: ...And having a runaway wife and a live-in girlfriend, oh, and the mansion on the beach. Yeah, I'd really hate my guts right about now, too.

Brooke: Wyatt told me that Liam threw him out. I find that strange.

Hope: Liam felt like he had to take sides, and, of course, he sided with bill.

Brooke: It's not like he hasn't been at odds with his father before.

Hope: People are always at odds with bill -- well, people who aren't you. What? Am I wrong?

Brooke: I'm just saying maybe there's another reason why Liam is upset with Wyatt. You, for instance.

Caroline: Knock. Knock. Well, this must be the bedroom.

Bill: Excuse me. Can you see that I'm not decent?

Caroline: Everyone knows that, uncle bill.

Bill: Is rick with you? What are you doing here?

Caroline: I got a message that you wanted to see me.

Bill: That was a few days ago.

Caroline: Housekeeper let me in. She had my name on a list.

Bill: Again, what are you doing here?

Caroline: I think that you need someone in your corner. You were in mine when I was acting horribly, so I figure a little moral support is the least I can do now that you're in disgrace.

Bill: Disgrace does not exist for me. It's an illusion. Gossip.

Caroline: Mm, well, gossip sure as heck exists.

Bill: Did your mother send you here?

Caroline: Am I spy? No. I do not discuss you with my mom, and I will not discuss my mom with you. I'm an only child, so, like, weird sibling relationships are like trigonometry to me.

Bill: All right, well, we don't have to pretend that we both don't know that your mother has more than sided with Katie.

Caroline: Women are always gonna side with women... especially when the man moves in with the woman's sister.

Bill: You don't approve?

Caroline: I didn't say that. I love you, uncle bill. You didn't know that?

Bill: Can I just get dressed? I'd really just like to get dressed.

Caroline: Trust me, [Singsong] You're gonna need friends. Look, I know that we've had our ups and downs.

Bill: I can't hear you!

Caroline: But when I had the first real trouble of my life and I was losing rick, you were the one that tried to help. I mean, I've never had anybody almost put a partially innocent person in jail for me before. [Chuckles] I mean, it was a little insane, but...it was awesome. How could I not love you?

Liam: I don't know how brothers act. I didn't grow up with one, and neither did you, but I'm pretty sure this isn't it.

Wyatt?

Wyatt: In a minute.

You said to bring this to you as soon as it got here -- the Forrester contract.

Wyatt: Oh. Thank you. Can you take a copy of this down to my mother and make sure she looks it over? Thanks. You were here to outflank this, weren't you? Thinking maybe you could talk me into not signing this.

Liam: No. I don't interfere with hope's business.

Wyatt: But she kind of interfered in yours by hiring me, didn't she?

Liam: [Sighs]

Caroline: I was just -- not worried -- that's not the right word.

Bill: About me?

Caroline: Well, yeah. I want good things for you, and I just -- I don't know if that can happen.

Bill: Well, everything is not exactly hunky-dory at the moment.

Caroline: So, why are you holed up in here? Why aren't you at some, like, lush hotel in, like, the penthouse suite doing interviews over, like, porterhouse steaks and some scotch?

Bill: About what? The failure of my marriage, losing my company, or my latest illegitimate kid?

Caroline: So, what? Are you ashamed to show your face?

Bill: I think you know me better than that. I've taken some hits. I won't deny it. But I am exactly where I want to be.

Caroline: In Brooke Logan's bedroom.

Bill: So, if you're here to pass judgment or sneer at Brooke, that is the door. You can use it. I'm not here by accident or out of convenience. Brooke has supported me. She understands me. And that matters to me...a lot.

Caroline: Hey, look, I am Brooke's biggest fan. She is the reason that I'm in L.A., And it is my sincerest hope that she will be my future mother-in-law. But...romantically speaking, haven't you kind of jumped out of a frying pan into a towering inferno? I mean, Katie can be a bit of a handful, but you were her one and only. Brooke -- well... when has she ever kept anything going with any man? I mean, and don't you deserve that?

Bill: Brooke's luck is going to change... and so is mine.

Hope: I like Wyatt, and I think that he has a right to know who his biological family is, regardless of how I feel about your new lover.

Brooke: [Sighs]

Hope: Well, what else would you like me to call him?

Brooke: Bill didn't want to cut Wyatt out of his life. It's just that --

Hope: Oh, yeah, okay, but -- oh, see? This is why we can't -- we can't talk about it.

Brooke: Why?

Hope: [Sighs] Because bill has to pull the strings. Bill wants to be the puppeteer. He wants to control everybody -- his sons, anybody who will let him. He's using you to broadcast a certain version of events that will filter down through me and eventually get to them.

Brooke: Bill didn't tell me to go talk to Wyatt. He doesn't even know I went over there.

Hope: Well, if bill knows you at all, then he's got a pretty good idea that you would.

[Knock on door]

Hope: Yeah?

Thomas: Eric is looking for you.

Hope: Oh, does he need me?

Thomas: No. He told me to give these to you. Of course, that's before I knew what they were.

Brooke: Your wedding dress?

Hope: Yeah. I'm happy. I'm so happy right now, and I don't want to be mad at anyone. I don't want to be mad at Thomas or Steffy or -- or bill or especially you.

Brooke: Then let me start over and ask this question in a different way. Wyatt and Liam are brothers, estranged or not. And I was wondering if you were aware that Wyatt has more than a brotherly interest in you.

Liam: You are so far from understanding hope it's not even funny.

Wyatt: [Chuckles] Well, I know she wants me in her life and you don't.

Liam: Listen, I get that you want me seething with jealousy. I get that. But that's not what's happening here. Yeah, hope didn't know that it was your firm she was choosing based on the work submitted. And she was happy when she found out not because she has the hots for you, as incredible as that may seem, but because she wants us -- you and me -- to have a connection, no matter how indirect.

Wyatt: Well, she probably does think like that.

Liam: Yeah, she does, Wyatt. She wants us to act like brothers.

Wyatt: How do you know we're not?

Liam: [Scoffs]

Hope: Okay. I-I'm gonna say this, and it's really not to be critical. It's just -- you know how bill is with women. You know, it's kind of like a reflex with him. He comes on very strong, even when maybe he's technically not coming on. I think that's how Wyatt is. You don't agree.

Brooke: [Sighs] It doesn't explain how he talks about you.

Hope: Well, you're my mom. Of course he's gonna lay it on thick.

Brooke: He kissed you.

Hope: Look, Wyatt is a great guy. He's -- he's very hardworking, and he's nice to look at, but I am living with the only man that I want to see naked, thank you very much.

Brooke: [Chuckles]

Hope: Liam really isn't very happy with me right now, and I feel like if I can be the link that brings these two guys together, then it will all be worth it.

Brooke: Good. I'm glad I asked.

Hope: And if his brother flirting with me worries Liam a little, well, I guess I'll just have to live with that.

Brooke: [Chuckles]

Liam: Forget it. I'm out. This was a mistake.

Wyatt: I don't know why you came over in the first place. Do you even remember?

Liam: You need to get over the idea that you're keeping a foot in the door by signing this contract with hope. There is no door, Wyatt. It's a wall now. Once it was a door, now it's a wall. And those of us on this side of the wall don't want to be treated the way you treated my father.

Wyatt: Have you ever stood up for anything or anyone?

Liam: What do you think I'm doing right now, Wyatt? I am standing up for myself and my fiancée and my father. You have no idea how hard he worked on that marriage or how loyal he stayed under impossible circumstances, but you heard one little detail -- you heard one side of the story, and you decided to play judge, juror, and, apparently, department of children's services.

Wyatt: Yeah, I know that now, okay? I had a reaction that I didn't understand myself, but just the thought of that little boy growing up without a -- growing up the way you and I did. No. I didn't listen. I didn't ask questions. I just let something else take over the driver's seat -- a part of my brain that I never knew was there. Hope's mom came by earlier, told me the other side of the story, wisened me up. Not that she's exactly objective, either. Look, I-I don't -- I'm -- I'm saying this to the wrong person, anyway, so...

Liam: Maybe. I know I can't do anything to fix it.

Wyatt: Hey. Do you think I should say these same things to dad?

Liam: I don't know, Wyatt. Of course, unlike you, I don't speak for anybody else but myself.

Wyatt: [Chuckles]

Bill: You know, I'm the guy who beats his chest and says that he will protect his family at any cost. So how come the only Spencer speaking to me right now is the problem child -- you?

Caroline: Wait. Liam's upset with you?

Bill: Well, I don't know if he's upset, but, uh, well, he's not -- he's just not very happy with a certain situation I created and kind of shoved down his throat.

Caroline: Oh, you mean the son that came out of the woodwork.

Bill: Yeah. Wyatt. Have you met him?

Caroline: I am the only person in los Angeles who hasn't met him. I guess that we were at the same fourth of July party, but I don't know. I hear he's really cute.

Bill: Well, he crossed a line, and he said some things that were off-base and inappropriate with regard to how I'm treating Katie and, more importantly, will.

Caroline: Oh, lord. He's not in, like, a hospital bed somewhere, is he?

Bill: No. But I did tell him to never again think of himself as my son, that I was completely done with him.

Caroline: Kind of sounds like you both went overboard.

Bill: I'm not gonna be spoken to that way by anyone.

Caroline: You know, I hear that grandpa Spencer talked that way, too. Mom always said you guys were alike.

Bill: Yeah, I'll be she did. But the fact is that we are not carbon copies.

Caroline: Except that he threw away his son, too. Hiding up here?

Bill: I don't want to scare your housekeeper. She looks at me like I'm dangerous.

Brooke: Well, you are the stallion. [Chuckles] Mm. She'll get used to you.

Bill: You know this is gonna get worse before it gets better, right?

Brooke: Mm, it's gonna take a little time for people to adjust. I spoke with Wyatt today.

Bill: You know, it, uh -- it crossed my mind that you might do that, but I said to myself, "no, no. She'll come to me first. She won't go behind my back."

Brooke: I just knew there were things that you wouldn't tell him, like how this marriage unraveled and how things evolved to this, Katie's part in it, my part in it.

Bill: And?

Brooke: Well, I just think you should talk to him.

Bill: About?

Brooke: I think he's sorry. He just doesn't know how to say so.

Bill: You made him sorry.

Brooke: No, I didn't make him sorry. I just told him the whole story.

Bill: For my sake?

Brooke: And for his. Okay. For your sake.

Liam: Hey. Uh, it's me again. I'm, um -- I'm calling from a landline this time. I had some trouble getting through on the cell phone. You got me kind of paranoid, actually, like, "is she screening my calls, or..." um, so, I miss you, but, uh -- but, you know, I-I stopped thinking that you're about to walk through that door any minute. And I guess that's why I'm calling. Um... I feel like my life is on hold, Steffy. And it's not doing me any good. It's not doing you any good. And it's not like you're coming back. And so, uh, I'm asking you... if you would reconsider a legal annulment. The -- the lawyer -- I mean, he thinks we have a pretty good case. And -- and I'm not asking -- I wouldn't ask if I didn't need this. But I'm stuck, and I need not to be. And I need it now.

[Knock on door]

Hope: Uh, it's open. You know, Rick's actually not here right now, but I -- hey. [Chuckles]

Wyatt: Hi. Does your brother need to be here to sign these?

Hope: Oh, wow. Um, did you already have your attorneys look over it?

Wyatt: Well, my mom and I did. Yeah, no surprises. Figured if we get into a battle of attorneys, we're sunk anyway, so...

Hope: Okay. Well, yeah, um, I just need you to sign and date all four then initial.

Wyatt: It's done.

Hope: Oh.

Wyatt: I've been handling our contracts since I was in high school.

Hope: All right, well, I'll just have rick sign it, and then I will have legal send you your copy.

Wyatt: What about the cake and the champagne and the mad, passionate dancing?

Hope: Ah, we hire people to do that for us.

Wyatt: Oh. Even the dancing?

Hope: Oh, yes.

Wyatt: Where do I sign up for that?

Hope: [Chuckles] I, uh -- I heard you had a visit from my mom today.

Wyatt: Mm. Well, a lady's secrets are safe with me.

Hope: Mm.

Wyatt: Speaking of secrets, what's this?

Hope: A sketch.

Wyatt: A bridal gown. I wonder whose.

Hope: You approve?

Wyatt: You know, my mom's working on a necklace that would go perfect with this. I'll bring it by -- a-a wedding gift.

Hope: Oh, god. That's unbelievably sweet, but you --

Wyatt: Well, how soon do you need it?

Hope: Oh, gosh. That really hasn't been decided.

Wyatt: I can't wait to see it -- how beautiful you'll look in this gown, the necklace. [Whistles]

Hope: What makes you so sure you're gonna be invited?

Wyatt: Well, I better be. I plan on being the groom.

Hope: [Chuckles]

Wyatt: [Chuckles]
