Katie: Thank you for coming.
Brooke: Of course. I'm glad you called. I was worried.
Katie: [Sighs] You went through all that trouble and I stormed off.
Brooke: I understand.
Katie: I thought Bill and I were on the same page about his drinking, but apparently we weren't. I was upset, and he was upset, but Bill told me that you were there for him and that you talked to him, and I'm guessing you said something that calmed him down and made him come home. I just wanted to thank you for always being there for us.
Liam: Very cool, Hope.
Hope: Yeah? You're not just saying that?
Liam: No. No. I would tell you otherwise. What -- [Chuckles] What was that, um, that -- that pink puffball thing? What was that? Was that a skirt?
Hope: Yes. Yes, it was, and I loved that skirt.
Liam: Yeah. Evidently you did.
Hope: Uh-huh.
Liam: I'm just saying. I'm -- I'm not gonna lie to you. Well, obviously you're inspired.
Hope: Yes, I am.
Taylor: Did it break?
Eric: [Chuckles] No. No damage. I guess if she's gonna haunt us, at least she's gonna be careful.
Taylor: Well, I guess she won't be challenged, even from the great beyond.
Eric: I guess not.
Taylor: That's really weird, that picture falling like that. It just hurt me, taking Thomas' stock away... dying in Brooke's arms... [Voice breaking] Of all people. And it hurts.
Eric: You're disappointed, Taylor. I-I understand.
Taylor: After years of being the dutiful daughter-in-law... [Sighs] And she gives Brooke her engagement ring. I didn't want it. But what about any of her daughters? What about my daughter? I named Steffy after her. She might have wanted to give it to her child one day. It's like these pieces of me just keep getting chipped away. I lost Phoebe, and Thomas and Steffy are grown up. I sold the house because it's so empty. I... [Sobbing] And my best friend dies. I'm alone.
Hope: I keep expecting Steffy to walk in here.
Liam: [Chuckles] I think she's in Paris.
Hope: Yes. Thank you. I know that. I just, I didn't expect her to be gone so long. Not that I'm complaining. I just think it's -- it's odd she knows that we're spending this time together.
Liam: I know. She said we needed it.
Hope: And we might not have this time alone when she gets back. We need to take advantage of it.
Katie: Well, whatever you said, it obviously made a difference.
Brooke: [Chuckles] I'm not so sure about that.
Katie: No, I mean, when he got home, we were about to talk, and he made it clear that he is committed to our marriage and to our family. He wants to work on this just as much as I do.
Eric: You're not alone, Taylor. You're not.
Taylor: I really can't feel that way.
Eric: When Stephanie was dying, I-I...I knew it was coming, and I-I think I was preparing myself for that. But after she died... [Voice breaking] It was so quiet. What do I do with this house? I mean, do I -- do I sell this house? Do I...do I keep it for when... we have big family occasions? For God's sake. I don't want to live up here by myself. I don't want to cook meals for myself and open a bottle of wine from time to time and...play the piano. They're things I used to do when she was here. I mean, and what's the use of doing it now, now that she's gone?
Taylor: You understand.
Eric: And -- and your anger, your anger about her, the way she died, I understand that. I-I do. I was angry with her. And then I was angry with myself for not being there with her.
Taylor: No. That wasn't, uh...the way she wanted it to happen. We weren't part of her plan.
Steffy: Yeah, breakfast sounds good, Dad. Okay. I'll see you soon. Bye.
[Bells chiming in distance]
Hope: What is that look?
Liam: Uh...[Laughs] It's, um... it's me wanting to make love to you all night long. Or try, anyway.
Hope: You want to, but you can't.
Liam: No. No, not until I got all this sorted out.
Hope: I understand. I can be very patient.
Liam: You -- what are you -- you know, you keep on coming over like this, soon it's gonna be hard for me to turn you away.
Hope: Oh, in that case, forget patience. Steffy still has her own place, right?
Liam: Yeah.
Hope: Oh, good. Then we can just pack up her stuff and drop it off. It won't be a shock to her. No. She's the one who said we needed to spend this time together. Maybe her dad didn't even need her in Paris. Maybe this is her way of letting you come back to me. [Chuckles]
Liam: [Chuckles]
Hope: When she does get back, you should ask her to move out. I know that you care about her, and I respect your loyalty. But I want to be on equal footing. After all the lies, after everything that was done to us, I think I deserve that.
Katie: I feel guilty for getting you involved.
Brooke: You're my sister. It's my job. [Laughs]
Katie: Well, I appreciate your advice, and I'm taking it, especially about the intimacy thing.
Brooke: Ooh?
Bill: Oh, hey.
Katie: Hey. How's Will?
Bill: He's sound asleep.
Katie: Good.
Bill: Didn't expect to find you here.
Brooke: Yeah, Katie called and she just wanted me to know that everything was okay. [Sighs] You two are gonna be just fine. Oh, how sweet. [Chuckles] You know Rodrigo, the Forrester driver, he's just double-checking to make sure I have a ride home.
Katie: Do you need a ride? I'm sure Bill wouldn't mind.
Brooke: No, Hope's gonna pick me up. I-I just, I didn't want to drive myself 'cause I had -- I had a couple glasses of wine at home, and it's better to be safe than sorry.
[Will crying]
Katie: Oh. Ha. Sound asleep, huh?
Bill: Faker.
Katie: Don't worry about it. I'll get him. You relax. If I'm not back before Hope gets here, thank you so much. I love you.
Brooke: I love you, too.
[Crying continues]
Brooke: [Groans] I wasn't thinking. Talking about drinking.
Bill: It's all right, Brooke.
Brooke: I just don't want to cause any more problems between you two any more than I already have.
Taylor: Uh, you want me to -- to hold this ladder, and you can get a hammer and I'll help you hang that up?
Eric: I'll have somebody do that in the morning. Taylor, is there anything I can say to Thomas?
Taylor: He was counting on running Forrester with you, and...now he's -- he's heading for Paris. I don't know if he's coming back. And Steffy, I don't even know what's going on with her. She's just behaving so...
Eric: Well, what is it? What is it with Steffy?
Taylor: Well, something's happened. I think she'd be happy, but... oh, goodness. Can I trust you with something?
Eric: Sure. What?
Taylor: She's pregnant.
Eric: Oh.
Taylor: [Sniffles] And I think she'd be happy, but... she just isn't. I-I would think that she would be excited that she's got a new life inside of her and -- and a family that she could start with Liam, but she's just -- something is not right.
Eric: Well, what about Liam? What does -- what does Liam say?
Taylor: He doesn't know. And she's forbidden me to say anything to him.
Eric: I see.
Taylor: Please don't say anything to anybody.
Eric: I won't. I won't.
Taylor: It has to be our secret.
Eric: Okay. Okay.
Taylor: [Sighs] Eric, I just want her to come home. The longer she's away without Liam knowing... [Voice breaking] Anything could happen. I mean...
Eric: With Hope, you mean.
Taylor: Another Logan... coming after my family.
Hope: I know that Steffy had nothing to do with what happened in Italy or Rick's lie. But that doesn't make her completely clean. She suspected that something was going on and she said nothing to you, and she moved in here anyway. I'm just asking you to level the playing field. I know you have feelings for both of us. And if you're living with Steffy, how can you fairly make a decision about who to be with? Plus with her gone, it's gonna make it so much easier for me to move back in.
Liam: Oh, yeah. Now it makes sense.
Hope: 'Cause obviously you're gonna end up with me.
Liam: Obviously.
Hope: Yeah. And we're gonna make it to the altar no matter what happens. I don't care if my dad shows up or if there's an earthquake or a typhoon or the minister passes out. Vows will be exchanged, and I'll become Hope Spencer.
Liam: Yeah. Maybe my dad will give you a little -- cute, little sword necklace.
Hope: Oh, great.
[Both laugh]
Liam: You're -- you're a brave woman wanting to become that man's daughter-in-law.
Hope: Not -- not as brave as you are. I mean, don't you know the stories about any man who becomes Brooke Logan's son-in-law?
Liam: Why? What happens to any man who -- oh. Oh, that's gross. You're gross.
Hope: I'm sorry. I know, and I'm terrible. It's awful. But at least, you know, I'm at a point where I can joke about it, right?
Liam: Yeah, don't. Don't. No.
Hope: Okay.
Liam: Never again.
Hope: Okay. I know that there are a lot of people -- Steffy and her mother -- who like to bash the Logans. But really, we are a great family to be a part of. [Chuckles]
[Computer beeps]
Hope: Oh, go ahead.
Liam: Uh...really? Are you sure?
Hope: Yep. I have to pick up my mom anyway.
Liam: Okay. [Clears throat] [Sighs] Steffy.
Steffy: Hi.
Liam: How -- how are you? How's your dad?
Steffy: It's a difficult time for him. But I'm glad I could be here.
Liam: Yeah, well, you tell him I'm thinking about him, okay?
Steffy: I will. Thank you. Liam, look... I love you. I love you, and I just wanted to say that. And I'll be home soon. We have a lot to discuss. Are you alone?
Liam: Um... no.
Steffy: I have -- I have to go.
Liam: Steffy, wait, wait, wait. No, no.
Hope: She'll be back soon. And if you tell her to move out, we can have more nights like this.
[Glass clinks]
Eric: Cheers.
Taylor: You do this every night?
Eric: [Sighs] So far, yeah. Sounds silly, isn't it?
Taylor: I hope she appreciates it.
Eric: No, not likely. She never liked the way I made martinis.
Taylor: Oh, she did. It gave her something to complain about.
Eric: [Chuckling] Yeah, it did, didn't it? Taylor, um... I will keep your secret, your secret about Steffy.
Taylor: I trust you. I just wish Steffy would come home. Keeping this secret and... being so far away.
Eric: And leaving the door open for Hope.
Taylor: Just starting a family... and here's Hope doing the exact same thing as her mother. Yeah. Yeah, I'm talking about your best friend, Brooke. Teaching her daughter to ruin yet another generation.
Eric: It's not gonna happen, Taylor. You and your children, your family's all gonna be safe. I promise you. You'll be safe as long as I'm around.
Brooke: Katie's so excited. She's finally happy again being a mother and being a wife, and I don't want to ruin anything for her. And then I talk about drinking wine, and then she thinks about you drinking, and then --
Bill: Brooke, Brooke, Brooke. Stop. Stop. You -- you can't worry about mentioning alcohol every time you're around Katie and me. It's an issue for us right now. But we're going to overcome it. Tonight was a reminder that couples have issues. Katie and I won't always see eye-to-eye. But as long as we have the same goal, which is a solid marriage, a good home for Will... we're gonna be okay.
Brooke: You have a wonderful marriage and a wonderful family. You are an amazing person. And I wish nothing but the best for you.
Hope: Hi.
Brooke: Oh, Honey. Honey, you're here. Um...
Hope: Did you still need a ride?
Brooke: Yes. Yes. Thank you. [Chuckles] Goodbye, Bill.
Bill: Bye, Brooke.
Hope: Bill. What was that?
Brooke: What?
Hope: You and Bill. There's nothing going on between you two, is there? I mean, 'cause you -- you wouldn't... no.
