Bill: That's what you've done, Caroline. You betrayed me.

Caroline: No, Uncle Bill, I didn't --

Bill: Don't make it worse by trying to deny it. I specifically told you not to interfere, and you chose to defy me. Your uncle, your cousin Liam, your family -- you betrayed us all. You're not a Spencer. I don't know what you are.

Brooke: So you said Caroline and Rick were here?

Katie: Yeah, they left before Bill got home, thank God.

Brooke: And Bill's around somewhere?

Katie: I'm sure he's just out taking a walk. I mean, he's really upset with Caroline about this whole situation.

Brooke: Yes, I could see this coming. He didn't want Liam with Hope, and he hates it when people go against him. So now Caroline has two strikes against her. I think we need to keep them apart. I don't want Bill to confront her when he's in this frame of mind.

Caroline: You're upset. I expected you to be, but, please, if you would just let me explain --

Bill: What's to explain? You goaded that Forrester chump into telling your sister what he did.

Caroline: Because what he did was wrong.

Bill: What he did has nothing to do with us. We didn't tell him to lie to Hope.

Caroline: He felt so guilty.

Bill: That's his problem, not ours!

Caroline: And I helped him deal with it.

Bill: Why?

Caroline: Because I care about Rick.

Bill: What about your family? What about Liam? Do you give a damn about any of us? Obviously, you don't. You turned against us, your own flesh and blood. Bad move.

(Hope recalls past scenes with Liam)

(Knock on door)

Brooke: I still can't believe Rick would do that to his own sister.

Katie: I was shocked, too. But then when he explained it, it made sense.

Brooke: The only reason why hope and Liam weren't together is because she thinks that Liam lied about what happened the night before their wedding.

Katie: Think about everything she's been through. Her wedding in Italy was ruined because of Steffy. And then the night of their wedding in L.A., the night before, Liam and Steffy went out. Rick was worried about her.

Brooke: To make up some stupid story about Steffy and Liam making out...

Katie: No, that was stupid. It was. But I can understand why he did it.

Brooke: Well, I'm glad that Caroline's in his life. She seems to be a good influence on him. I mean, seeing the two of them together, he is very protective of her.

Katie: I just hope he doesn't have to protect her from your husband.

Marcus: Look, if we leave in the morning, we can be back the same night.

Dayzee: Oh, I don't know, babe. Snowboarding?

Marcus: Yes, there's a first time for everything. And we can use my dad's cabin. He won't mind.

Dayzee: It does have a fireplace.

Marcus: A big one.

Dayzee: So we could skip snowboarding...

Marcus: Mmm.

Dayzee: ...And make use of it, yeah?

Marcus: Hey, that works for me. Mm-hmm. Indeed. Yo, Rick, what's up, man?

Rick: Yo. What's going on?

Marcus: Chillin'. So, how's the team?

Rick: Working hard.

Dayzee: Yeah, you guys have this big fashion showdown coming up, huh?

Rick: Yeah, there's a lot riding on it.

Dayzee: So I hear.

Marcus: Yeah, you, uh... you look a little worried, there. What's going on?

Rick: Not a chance. We're gonna win. I'll be running this company, and Thomas will be begging his mommy for therapy.

Dayzee: Uh-huh. So why the long face? What's going on?

Rick: I'm worried about Caroline.

Bill: Do you have any idea the trouble you've created?

Caroline: By encouraging Rick to tell the truth? Liam and Steffy didn't make out the night before the wedding. Hope was misled. To perpetrate that lie is wrong.

Bill: No, Caroline, to turn on your family is wrong, because family is all you could count on. And I thought I could count on you. Obviously, I was mistaken.

Liam: So, um... I needed to see you.

Hope: Mm. That's always good to hear.

Liam: That's not what I --

Hope: No, it's okay. It doesn't matter why you're here. Can I get you anything? You look...kind of rattled.

Liam: Do I? Uh, no, no. Yeah. You don't. You look -- you look good.

Hope: Thank you. I feel good. Ever since we talked, actually.

Liam: You know, I told Steffy about that.

Hope: Yeah, I do know. She came to see me. Very honorable on your part. You made sure not to leave out any details.

Liam: You thought I would?

Hope: I hoped you wouldn't. She did, however, make a point to describe to me that you two were in bed when you told her. I trust that didn't put a damper on things. Um, she also told me not to interfere because nothing has changed. Is she right?

Katie: I'm surprised Bill isn't back yet.

Brooke: Well, he had an awful lot of steam to blow off.

Katie: It's best he gets it out of his system.

Brooke: Oh, he'll be fine. I know my husband. He just needs some time. That's all.

Katie: If hope and Liam do end up together, do you think he'll ever accept it?

Brooke: Yes, of course. He's not unreasonable. Though I do wish he'd lay off this.

Katie: Has he been drinking a lot?

Brooke: More than normal.

Katie: Well, he is really busy, and he has a very demanding schedule, so a couple drinks here and there wouldn't hurt.

Brooke: Did he drink a lot while I was gone?

Katie: No, not really. I don't think he has an alcohol problem. He's too much of a control freak.

Brooke: You have a point there.

Katie: His problem is with Rick and Caroline and the secret they've exposed.

Dayzee: You're worried about her. Why?

Rick: I don't want anyone guilt-tripping her.

Marcus: Like who?

Rick: Like Bill Spencer.

Dayzee: You don't have to worry about that. He's her uncle.

Rick: Caroline did something. It was good, but Spencer doesn't seem to think so.

Marcus: And this surprises you? Not me.

Rick: Me either. It's like the guy wants everyone to bow down to him.

Dayzee: Well, what's he gonna do? I mean, she's his niece. It's not like he's gonna take a real hard line with her.

Marcus: I don't know. That's one guy that can definitely throw a powerful punch.

Rick: Especially if you're family.

Dayzee: You're really worried about her, huh?

Rick: Look, he can mess with my company, he can mess with my job, even me, but no way in hell am I gonna let him mess with Caroline.

Caroline: I'm sorry I disappointed you.

Bill: You're sorry.

Caroline: Hope was upset for months. She thought that Liam cheated on her, and he didn't. She had to know.

Bill: It's not your responsibility. Family, blood -- that's who you support.

Caroline: I was supporting my cousin -- your son -- in getting the truth!

Bill: Wrong.

Caroline: No, you say that because you want to control Liam, but isn't it better just to let him be happy and make his own decision between Hope and Steffy with full information?

Bill: Do you know what happened after your little boyfriend unburdened his soul? Hope went to Liam. She kissed him. She made her play. She wants him back. My son, who is committed to another woman. Is that what you call integrity, Caroline? Hope doesn't know the meaning of the word. And, apparently, you don't either.

Brooke: I don't see him for a couple of days, and he's grown so much.

Katie: For me, it's like overnight. Every time I wake up in the morning, he's a brand-new kid.

Brooke: Oh, it's wonderful, isn't it?

Katie: Yeah, it's better than I ever anticipated.

Brooke: It's a miracle, and I'm so happy to share it with you.

Katie: Me, too.

Brooke: They kissed, you know.

Katie: Who, Hope and Liam?

Brooke: When she went to see him.

Katie: Does Bill know about this?

Brooke: Yes, he does.

Katie: So that's why he's so upset with Caroline.

Brooke: Hope has a whole new determination.

Katie: Do you think she's being overconfident?

Brooke: I don't know. She seems like a different person. She's stronger, and she's secure. And she knows she misses Liam. She wants him back, and she is determined to fight for him.

Hope: Liam, can you answer me honestly? I'm not assuming anything. Has anything changed since we talked?

Liam: [Chuckles] I begged you, over and over, to forgive me.

Hope: Yes, you did, but I believed that you were lying about what happened the night before our wedding.

Liam: But I told you. I told you that nothing happened with Steffy. You didn't believe me. You chose to believe Rick and Othello.

Hope: Rick is my brother. He's my brother, Liam. Of course, I believed him. He's never given me any reason to doubt him. In this case, yes, I should have trusted you. I know that now. Even though you did show up with the crazy hair, the tattoo, still a little drunk from your night out with Steffy.

Liam: Yeah, you win, okay? Not the best judgment on my part.

Hope: And Liam, you told me that she didn't have a hold over you, and she did.

Liam: But I stayed faithful to you. [Scoffs] And now, Hope, Steffy and I have only grown closer.

Hope: Well, I would hope so. You're living together. I know it's what you wanted but ... is it still?

Liam: Okay, you know what? Let me ask you something. Let me ask you something. Before Rick told you the truth, how were you feeling? Really.

Hope: I would wake up ... I'd go to work, I'd do my job, I'd come home, and I'd tell myself that "Tomorrow, I'll feel better." Caroline changed all that. I hate what my brother did to me, but I love what his girlfriend did to set him straight. She helped him see what to do to make things right. She's a wonderful person.

Bill: Hope is determined to get Liam back, and you set the whole thing in motion.

Caroline: Why don't you like Hope? She's principled and intelligent. She's got a bunch of great qualities.

Bill: Because she's immature, flighty, and wrong for my son.

Caroline: That is not for you to decide.

Bill: I protect my family, Caroline.

Caroline: I'm your family, too, Uncle Bill.

Bill: That is why this is such a betrayal. You showed me no respect, not to mention what you did to Liam. He and Steffy have a mature, healthy relationship. And if you spent any time around the two of them, you would see that. She is so much better for him than that schizophrenic head case. Liam will never leave Steffy for Hope, and I will see to it. So you have lost your family and messed up your friend's life. Nice job.

Liam: So Caroline turned the tide.

Hope: Mm-hmm. For me, yes. Now, I'm back in the game.

Liam: I'm sorry -- "the game"?

Hope: I want to make a difference again.

Liam: Ah.

Hope: [Chuckles]

Liam: That's good to hear.

Hope: I'm reinventing "Hope For the Future." I have all these great ideas, and I'll wake up in the middle of the night, start writing them down. I don't know, I don't know where it's coming from. That -- that sounds crazy, doesn't it?

Liam: No, no, no. It doesn't. Not at all.

Hope: No?

Liam: No.

Hope: You know, I haven't been living up to my potential. I really haven't. I have been questioning myself. And I was really in this funk that I couldn't get out of. And then I talked to Rick. And it was like everything became clear. I got this shot of faith in myself, in my judgment, my values ... even you. I have faith in us, Liam. And right now, I really don't care if you do or not. I know I'm going to have to earn back your trust, and I will. We had something really amazing. Don't count me out.

Liam: Ah!

Brooke: How's your therapy coming along?

Katie: Great.

Brooke: You still taking your meds?

Katie: Oh, yeah. [Chuckles] Religiously. Life is good, you know. We've just hit a little speed bump.

Brooke: This thing with Caroline.

Katie: She's a great influence on Rick, and she's family, so I'm sure she and Bill will work out their differences.

Brooke: Of course, they will.

[Rick remembers]

Rick: Caroline Spencer. Rick Forrester.

Caroline: Yes, you are.

Bill: You don't get it, how destructive Hope is for Liam, or you wouldn't take the leash off that head case and sic her on your cousin.

Caroline: Hope is not a head case.

Bill: She's not, really? Pill-popper, graffiti's my house, moves in with Liam, moves out. Puts the engagement ring on. Takes the engagement ring off. Do you want me to go on?

Caroline: Then that is Liam's decision to make, not yours.

Bill: You just don't stop!

Caroline: No, I do stop! I could've told Liam more, but I didn't tell him about your involvement in their wedding in Italy, and I didn't tell them about you busting Deacon out of prison, because I didn't want to hurt your relationship with your son.

Bill: And you're telling me this why? You threatening me?

Caroline: No, no! I'm showing you my loyalty.

Bill: Listen to me. Nobody threatens me. Nobody crosses me, especially not my niece. I trusted you, and you spit on that. I will not forget it.

Caroline: No, please, can we talk about this sensibly? [Gasps] Aah!

[Body thuds]
